[ INTRO POST ]
Hi there! You can call me Ro - I'm 21+ and go by he/they! I decided to make a blog separate for all my rp endeavours, so feel free to look through whatever I post or shoot me a message if you think we might get along! I'm a pretty selective writer but I'm always open to chat! I write typically advanced literate, multi-para to novella style (500-1500 words an average reply, but can go up to 3000+ with other novella writers!) though the length depends on what's going on in the scene. I prefer longer replies and starters, action-packed, significant moments tend to be longer, but it entirely depends, and if I like an ad preferring shorter replies then I can match that too! I roleplay exclusively on discord! This blog is just for sharing things about my muses and finding new partners. I write both fandomless and fandom rps, ocs and canons! For ocs, I write a variety of muses; male, female, trans and nonbinary, of all ages, backgrounds, and ethnicities. Transphobia and racism will not be tolerated here. If you aren't open to trans or non-white muses, do not interact. I also write all pairings, but I tend to primarily write mxm (with trans/nb variations.) I am, however, absolutely open to mxf and fxf (with all trans/nb variations.) I use realistic faceclaims most of the time, or anime or picrew ones, with descriptions. I do not do wanted faceclaims or change my faceclaims. I am pro-ship and engage with dead dove type topics and am more than happy to include them in roleplays. Expect to see some gritty topics or aesthetics here for some of my muses. I, of course, do not endorse dubious or harmful topics/behaviour in real life; it is purely fiction! Things like abuse, dubcon/noncon, stalking, murder, torture, self-harm, drug use, mental health issues, etc, may be included in this blog. I do not rp underage content. I love dark, gritty roleplays. I love fleshing out characters and stories and getting completely into our muses' heads and building the world around them. I love detail, headcanons, complex characters, dynamics and relationships. Give me nuance and complexity and depth, please! NSFW wise, I am absolutely open to it and love it as a way to develop our characters, but I do not typically rp smut as a priority. Almost all of my characters are switches and very few are strict subs/doms (and those that are are typically the opposite of what you might expect them to be). I do not enjoy writing as or against very soft characters or strict submissives. I love rambling about muses, spamming pinterest aesthetics, assigning songs and lyrics to muses, etc! I love ooc chatter if we roleplay, but I'll never pester you if it's not your vibe. I am ghost friendly and will always be open to restarting a rp or plotting again, I don't hold grudges and I don't care much to block people unless there's a legitimate reason. If I block you, it's because boundaries were overstepped or ghosting was a response to trans or non-white muses. Below are some fandoms, canon muses, fandom oc settings, and fandomless tropes/vibes that I love! Feel free to message me about any of them! Fandoms/tropes with a * are the ones I'm currently most interested in!
FANDOMS:
Death Note (L, ocs)
Attack on Titan (Erwin, Levi, Jean, Bertholdt, ocs*)
Blue Eye Samurai (Mizu)**
Given (Haruki)
Demon Slayer (ocs)
Castlevania (Alucard)
Dune (Paul, Feyd-Rautha, ocs)
Hannibal NBC
Sherlock BBC (Moriarty)
Strangers from Hell (Moon-Jo)
Taxi Driver
SK8 (Ainosuke)
Skyrim (ocs)**
Baldur's Gate 3 (ocs**, Gale, Wyll)
The Boys (Homelander, Hughie)
Midnight Mass
Interview with the Vampire (TV series) (Lestat, Armand)
Bones and All (Lee)
The Hunger Games (ocs)
Saltburn (Felix)
The Bear (Carmen)
The Umbrella Academy (Klaus, Luther, Five, Dave)
Gotham (Oswald, Edward, Victor, Jervis)
Feel free to ask me about my muses and canon ships! I also have several ocs for these universes!
GENERAL TROPES/PLOTS/GENRES/INSPO:
Historical - 1800s, Jane Eyre, Bridgerton vibes*
Medieval fantasy - LOTR, Skyrim type vibes**
1950s - mental health asylums, murder couple, freak show vibes
Grunge vibes - rough backgrounds, settings, environments for rough muses
Obsession to the ends of the earth; cannibalism as a metaphor for love (and just general cannibalism), murder in the name of love; abuse/torture/toxicity in the name of love*
Dystopia/apocalypse - TLOU, Hunger Games vibes, corrupt governments and dangerous worlds
Vampires; werewolves; mercreatures - I am ALWAYS a sucker for vampire/human, vampire/werewolf, mercreature/human
Cults, psychological horror, southern gothic, religious trauma - think Bones and All, Ethel Cain, Midnight Mass, The Devil all the Time. Bonus points for trans muses involved - the black sheep gone unhinged and murdery
Found family
Doomed by the narrative + haunting the narrative
WWI; fictional war settings; young soldiers lied to and thrown into the worst action, coming back home and struggling
1920s dark academia; university settings; murder mystery; philosophy
Mxm age gaps - rugged older men getting the spark back into their lives with a wild, cocky little thing. Bonus points for Wild West settings
Literature inspires a lot of my Vibes: Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, Frankenstein, Paradise Lost, Dostoevsky, Rebbeca, Kafka, and more

SHE'D RECOGNIZE THAT AUBURN HEAD OF CURLS anywhere, even through a sea like crowd mixed with vampires and fangbangers (among other types). For a second, she rolls her eyes, wondering if he was here for an early shipment. Picking up for his husband, perhaps though that would surprise her. Pam remained behind the bar with arms crossed over her chest, overseeing the place while the bartenders remained busy. She could've helped them of course, but she doesn't want to. Place wasn't too packed anyway, they'd be able to handle it on their own. That's what she was paying them for after all. Making eye contact with Armand, she offers a slight upturn of her chin in silent acknowledgement. If he was there for a shipment, he was going to be gravely disappointed.

@wolfguarded our starter
He was just arriving into Athos when he saw him. The omega was standing guard by the gates and he knew he wouldn't be recognized because Silas had never seen his face but he must have heard of him. The packmasters had met with him, assigned him a job, a pack, and a cabin to share wirh other alphas.
He had returned to the gates then, to meet with Silas. Bothering him during work ours didn't seem like the wisest thing to do but he couldn't wait. He wanted to know how this town was, if he needed another escape, or if all was well. He didn't ask anyone about the guard, he would get the information from the horses mouth.
"Silas." His way of greeting was still too formal so he tried relaxing a bit into it. "I'm Armand Orion. I helped Taj and your other kids get you out of Egrain and, yes, they're fine. I took the fall for it." He let the info sink into the other's mind before speaking further. "Are you okay here? Do they treat you right?" He got the most important question out first, wanting to know how should he proceed.
He was wearing a loose shirt, his mating mark visible but he had arrived alone. Orion felt awkward, vivid and horrible visions of what they had done to Silas still at the back of his head. "I...I'm sorry I didn't get you out sooner. I didn't know."

PART I
One thing rang true and that was the prediction of the brutal blizzard of November 28th. Everyone prepped the best they could with the remembrance of how last Winter had ruthlessly blanketed their homes. There’s a frenzy for backup generators that get bought up in the Chicago stores for the anticipation. The first ominous whistle of the wind, and the pebbles of ice fall on the eve of Thanksgiving. Power flickers in each home giving them a moment of awkward darkness, before the backup generators kick in. The power companies in the city promise to have everyone serviced, but they start to service the scattered patches on the outskirts of the city first .
Most joked that was the brutal blizzard they had prepared for, until Mother Nature dropped her poker face. The ships with cargo became stuck in the harbor due to the icy fortress that froze over the gigantic lake. No lights of passing planes in the sky, as the wind turned into a sinister howl. Darkness engulfed the entirety of the city, except for a strip of hotels in neutral territory. The footmen of the families alert them that there seem to be only a handful of hotels that seem to be around. Meanwhile the temperature dips in the homes of those unlucky, and they must face a brash decision to not become the ice sculptures akin to the people of Pompeii.
Multiple phone calls are done, and just as their phones are about to die they get a booking. A hotel that mentions that the accommodations might be crowded -- However, they can host your groups and promise warmth as long as the storm doesn’t shut them down. Everyone packs up their children, pets, and housemates to journey to the only solace that isn’t sold out in all Chicago.
After a restless eternity everyone was given a room number with their baggage ( human and otherwise ). The group of people that checked guests in alert them that there is a room for the animals to stay in kennels or they may accompany the others up to the room. Just when everyone was annoyed after being crowded in the lobby, and having to wait decades to get from one floor to another in the elevator.  It doesn’t help there’s always that one asshole that tries to asphyxiate everyone with their heinous flatulence.
They FINALLY make it into their hotel room. Massive enough and customized with multiple full sized beds. No television, the heat blares up, it’s the poster child of the most bare necessities room. While everyone claimed a bed and stared haughty towards the guests that had ended up in the same room with them. A loud crackle followed by a slight rumble of their feet had the lights in the hotel rooms go off. The hotel doors seemed to have powered down, and anyone that tried to leave them --found they wouldn’t budge. A soft wheeze emitted from the heater in the room, and for a moment that’s the only noise in the room with you until the profanities start to flood. Winter wasn’t the only one that had prepped for the evening. The Walshes and their affiliates watch on with hidden elation as their plan goes into motion.
Part I will run from November 28th until December 3rd. Under the cut will be the groupings as well as some additional notes for this event.
Please don’t make any new starters open or closed that don’t pertain to this event while it’s happening. Normal replies can be done while the event is running, but it gets confusing timeline wise if people have additional threads that they start that would belong after the event timeline.
For this event specifically, the weather in Chicago is fictional. After the event you can feel free to glance at the Weather app and RP it out that way!
Animals will also be boarded at this neutral hotel. Keep in mind if the animals are left at your residence with the current temperature and no heat they will likely pass away.
Keep in mind that if your character has children (unless they are Walsh affiliates) they  likely have their kids in the room with them or any other NPC’s. If the character is a Walsh it was their choice to have them be ‘stuck’ in the room with them or left with a babysitter provided by the council.
For information on the bold names check the Walsh Discord channel.
PREP PLOT SLOTS CHOSEN
LIAM WALSH & IVY IVASHKOV volunteered to carpool with a hotel van to the hospital for sedatives and other harvesting supplies. AUDREY ROUSSEAU is already at the hospital and helps them fill the van before they all ride back to the hotel together. DAVUT DEMIR & KILLIAN WALSH are tasked with going to The Westin and sabotaging the hotel in time for the storm. They are told to do whatever necessary to make sure the hotel can’t accept any more guests before they return for the night. DARREN MURPHY took a smoke break after unloading only one of the supply vans at the hotel. LINCOLN DAWSON caught them smoking—as opposed to working—and made DARREN MURPHY finish unloading two other vans while they watched.
ASLYN WALSH collected the weekly stash owed from the business owners at Magnificent Mile. She delivered the money to the council without prying eyes of local law enforcement or rival gangs catching on. ARMANDE IVASHKOV & another associate, had the dirty work of cleaning up the old blood stained hotel rooms used for organ harvesting the night before. They made it presentable before opening night. Their efforts were doubled when other affiliates weren’t aware of the chore, and had set off to bloody the room with a fresh harvest session.TARON LYNCH & JOANNA "JOEY" O'SHEA are instructed to sabotage the backup power generators on the north side. Surprisingly, they didn’t get caught. CAOILAINN WALSH had to “check” everyone into the hotel—AKA, assign each guest to a room. Everyone converges in the lobby and watches them impatiently, and the later it gets, the more aggressive the crowd becomes. ASLI DEMIR & FLETCHER HARGRAVE met with Jean Jaques “JJ” Baptiste and persuaded him by discussing terms of agreement for him to temporarily close Romanet Hotel the night of the massive storm.

[TASK 198: MOLUCCANS]
In celebration of May being Asian and Pacific American Heritage Month, there’s a masterlist below compiled of over 80+ Moluccan faceclaims categorised by gender with their occupation and ethnicity denoted if there was a reliable source. If you want an extra challenge use random.org to pick a random number! Of course everything listed below are just suggestions and you can pick whichever faceclaim or whichever project you desire.
Any questions can be sent here and all tutorials have been linked below the cut for ease of access! REMEMBER to tag your resources with #TASKSWEEKLY and we will reblog them onto the main! This task can be tagged with whatever you want but if you want us to see it please be sure that our tag is the first five tags, @ mention us or send us a messaging linking us to your post!
THE TASK - scroll down for FC’s!
STEP 1: Decide on a FC you wish to create resources for! You can always do more than one but who are you starting with? There are links to masterlists you can use in order to find them and if you want help, just send us a message and we can pick one for you at random!

STEP 3: Look back on tasks that we have created previously for tutorials on the thing you are creating unless you have whatever it is you are doing mastered - then of course feel free to just get on and do it. :)
STEP 4: Upload and tag with #TASKSWEEKLY! If you didn’t use your own screencaps/images make sure to credit where you got them from as we will not reblog packs which do not credit caps or original gifs from the original maker.
THINGS YOU CAN MAKE FOR THIS TASK -  examples are linked!

1982 - Life line [Closed Starter]
I should not have left. Ever since, int he heat of the moment, I had packed my bags and left Chicago during the day three weeks ago, Armand had not showed any single sign of being nearby. The first week had gone by quite quickly, despite having my mind on calling him. The second week, however had been sluggish and by the end of it, I had shoved my pride under the rug and called. He had not been there. Checked out a week ago. Fuck. This third week I had had multiple panic attacks, sleepless nights and even a bout of fever for feeling so damn anxious. I was afraid I had really ruined it this time. That Armand had grown tired of me and would never return. That I would be stuck in this limbo between a horrid and fascinating supernatural awareness and dull, colourless mortal existence. It terrified me and caused proper mental breakdowns, taking a toll on my sleep and health. I was entering my fourth week without him and  I was constantly seeking distractions just to keep my mind off of the horrendous idea of a life on the wrong side of that closed door. Bars, movies, alcohol, even occasional, quick drugs just to keep from going crazy. But not only these destructive thoughts were creeping up on me. Now I was also starting to feel properly lonely. Armand had made it so I was quite isolated from normal life and all the people around me in the bars and in the cinemas and in the street were all disconnected. Like in a dream. Your soul is screaming out for help but no one hears it. It was the most fragile and painful of feelings. Even when drunk, I could not shake off this feeling of immense loneliness and isolation. ---
10:44PM. I had been staring at the alarm clock at the hotel bedside table for almost half an hour now, feverishly and autistically counting the flashing seconds shown by the red dots between the digits. I was wide awake because I had slept till 6PM. I was sitting in the chair close to the window, the ashtray on the armrest stacked with dead cigarette buds, a fresh one about to go out between my fingers. I felt restless and in dire need of company. Earlier I had tried to watch some TV, but nothing was on that could keep my attention longer than ten minutes. Except for the explicit stuff. Yeah, I had grown so lonely that I found love and comfort in the voice of a fake, TV call girl. And it had given me an idea. Spur of the moment. I did not often do this myself. Whenever I would sleep with a stranger, it was either from meeting through a party or because Armand had arranged it. I rarely ever called myself. And yet I had. And here I was, counting the seconds until a strange woman would arrive at my hotel door and love in exchange for cash.

Can we talk about ‘The Christmas Book’?
The bible, you might justifiably ask? WRONG. I’m talking about the annual Neiman Marcus Christmas Book, AKA, the world’s most ridiculous Christmas Catalog, AKA the source of one of my favorite holiday traditions (namely flipping through it and howling). Because, you guys, this is no ordinary collection of junk–we’re talking about a publication SO out of touch with the average human being’s needs (and budget) that it casually opens with a cheap gift section entitled ‘Gifts Under 100 Dollars’ (for the pleeb in your life? I don’t know, my cheap gift section would open at $5, but who’s asking) and then has the audacity to feature things like, ‘A set of two Waterford Champagne Coupes’ in that section. (Because the pleeb in your life who can’t afford rent CERTAINLY can’t afford proper champagne crystal for themselves, now can they?)
In any case, reading it is one of the highlights of my year–not because I’ve ever purchased anything from it (are you f-ing kidding me?) but because the contents gradually become SO outrageous that the idea of ANYONE purchasing them starts to feel like actual fiction. (It’s not, which is a depressing concept in and of itself, but I choose not to focus on that aspect.)
The whole thing is conveniently available online this year (unabridged–Gucci Ads and all). It can be found HERE.
Now, if you’ve got the spiritual fortitude to look past the casual unfairness of the universe for a minute, feel free to share in this, my jolliest of Christmas Traditions AKA making fun of the DREADFUL brand of intellect poisoning that only seems to strike the VERY RICH. I’ve listed some of my most favorite items under the cut.
ITEM # H9UE6 - ARTERIORS VASE.
Tumblr media
COPY: “Porcelain Piedmont figural vase with gold-tone glaze.”
PRICE: $178.00.
Gold-toned?! For two hundred bucks you’d think it would at LEAST be gold plated. Also, can you even imagine spending the price of an older IPad on THIS–a gift that is so ugly you’d feel like you were supposed to apologize to the person you were giving it to? And we’re still in the cheap-o section, friends (gifts under $250 dollars–for the slightly less pleeby pleeb in your life). THIS IS WHAT FRUGALITY LOOKS LIKE.
ITEM #Z21V5 - SLINKY.
Tumblr media
COPY: “14-karat gold-plated metal Slinky.
PRICE: $150.00
I feel like this is the high-brow solution to the gold plated toilet seat. Amiright? You only buy this Slinky if you’ve got something to prove. Purchasing a gold-plated toy for someone else’s child is obviously the world’s least subtle way of saying “I’m rich! DID YOU NOTICE HOW RICH I AM?!?” in code. This Slinky is RIFE with the stench of HIDDEN INFERIORITY COMPLEXES.
ITEM #HB7XX - ASSOULINE BOOK.
Tumblr media
COPY: “An inside look at 100 of the most challenging courses in the world. By George Peper. Hardcover; 14″ x 17″. The Impossible Collection of Golf.”
PRICE: $945.00 (!!!)
I mean, fuck me. A thousand dollars for a book of glossy golf course pictures? I can’t even decide what my favorite thing about this item is: the fact that it’s listed in a section called “For Dad, Picks As Playful As He Is…”? Or the fact that the name of the book itself has ‘Impossible’ in it? Because that’s literally what I said out-loud when I read the price tag.
ITEM #D30ZV - THE BOOK CLUB READING AVIATORS.
Tumblr media
COPY: “Rose-Gold-tone metal Hard Crimes reading aviators. Specify strength.”
PRICE: $40.00.
OK, so these are actually kind of cool but also PATENTLY RIDICULOUS. You know that feeling you get when you know you’re supposed to be wearing your reading glasses, but you really want to pop on some sick see-through aviators instead? Finally, a solution. Also, what’s with the Hard Crimes bit? Is that a brand? An homage to Martha Stewart? Because, to be honest, I have a hard time picturing anyone committing an actual Hard Crime in these.
ITEM #C4LW3 - BEAUTY BIOSCIENCE GLOPRO SET.
Tumblr media
COPY: “GloPRO Pack N’ Glow Essentials Set includes Microneedling Regeneration Tool, MircoTip Attachment Heads, Skin Prep Pads, Sanitizing Spritzer bottle and case.”
PRICE: $279.00.
I’m gonna level with you guys, I have no idea what any of this is. Looks like a Torture Chamber Starter Kit? Sure sounds like Torture Chamber Starter Kit (three words: Microneedling Regneration Tool). Probably for your face, though? OH, and before I forget, this item is listed in the ‘For Your Sister In Law’ category, which I find both hilarious and delightfully offensive. You simply can’t put a price tag on a good Passive-Aggressive gift these days. AND, at $300.00, this item isn’t just a burn: it’s a WASP BURN.
ITEM #Z21V4 - STEIFF CHOUPETTE THE CAT SET.
Tumblr media
COPY: “White/Brown Acrylic and polyester plush Karl Lagerfeld Choupette the Cat. Includes carrying case and magnetic faux leather toy mouse. (Intended for adult collectors.)”
PRICE: $545.00.
I never thought I’d say it, but I hope I’m never rich enough to think that this is a good idea. You guys, you’re looking a $550.00 fake cat for adults. And presumably you’re mostly paying for the Chanel-related brand name, too,  because Mr. Choupette is made out of POLYESTER. The cost sure isn’t going toward materials.
ITEM #ABSURD - EXPLORE ZAMBIAN GEM FIELDS AND COLLABORATE ON A ONE OF A KIND PIECE WITH JEWELER STEPHEN WEBSTER.
Tumblr media
COPY: “Explore Zambian gem fields and collaborate on a One-Of-A-Kind piece with jeweler Stephen Webster.”
PRICE: $300,000
Hah. I bet some of you were thinking, “These items aren’t even that insane. I have an aunt who shops like this…” or even, “Come on, Connie, be nice. I own a collectible cat for adults.” WELL, THE WHEELS ARE OFF THE BUS NOW, CHUCK-OS. WE’RE CAREENING  DOWN CRAZY STREET. TUCK IN YOUR ASCOTS AND STRAP DOWN YOUR DINNER CAPES. Care to mail order an exploration of a Zambian gem field?
ITEM #EQUALLY ABSURD - ARMAND DE BRIGNAC TRAVEL TO CHAMPAGNE AND PERSONALIZE YOUR OWN CUVEE.
Tumblr media
COPY: “Travel to Champagne and personalize your own Cuvee.”
PRICE: $150,000.
The joke’s on them–I personalized my own Cuvee last year.
ITEM #ABSOLUTELYBATSHIT - ROLLS ROYCE.
Tumblr media
COPY: “Limited edition Dawns for you and me.”
PRICE: $439,625 - $445, 750.
For you AND Me.
ITEM #picksMOREplayfulthanheis - RYDER CUP VIP EXPERIENCE.
Tumblr media
COPY: “Experience the Ryder Cup as a VIP (the way you always do, because let’s face it, YOUR stupid P probably is VI).”
PRICE: $250,000.
Kind of puts that overpriced book in perspective, though, doesn’t it? See, this is how they get you…
ITEM #I’MRUNNINGOUTOFEXCLAIMATIONS - NEW YEARS EVE ABOVE TIMES SQUARE.
Tumblr media
COPY: “New Year’s Eve above Times Square. A private party for 300 at the Knickerbocker Hotel.”
PRICE: $1,600,000.
You know, the ushe: just a casual, million dollar party for you and three hundred of your closest friends.

Tigers ran wild in this one, last season.
War Eagle, everybody! It’s time now for another Auburn football preview! On October 22nd Auburn will travel to the state of Arkansas to take on the Razorbacks. My initial reaction is that this is very much a “trap game” on the schedule, and it will be a difficult gig. It will be Auburn’s 8th game in a row without a break, and it comes on the heels of a tough road trip to LSU.
The perception is that Auburn always struggles on the road at Arkansas, but that’s not really true, up examining the results from the past. Auburn actually has a winning record in Fayetteville, at 6-5, since the Hogs joined the SEC. Arkansas was very fortunate to hold on in overtime the last time Auburn visited, with a very mediocre Tiger unit in 2015.
This year, The Auburn Tigers will have opened the season with Georgia Southern, then traveled to Clemson. Auburn will then enjoy an early homecoming game against Mercer, before traveling to Missouri, prior to a home clash with Mississippi State. The Rebels follow at Jordan-Hare Stadium, the following week, before a road trip to LSU. Auburn then travels to Fayetteville to fight Arkansas. Arkansas opens in Little Rock against Florida A&M, then hosts TCU in week 2. Then, Arkansas has a bye week, to get ready for Texas A&M in Arlington, Texas. Arkansas then closes out September with New Mexico State. October is not kind. Arkansas plays at South Carolina, and at Alabama, before hosting Auburn. Both teams may be pretty beat up, for this game.
Last season, Arkansas had streaks where they were pretty good on offense, but the offensive line had real problems protecting quarterback Austin Allen, who was sacked more than any other SEC quarterback, and threw the most interceptions. Arkansas returns 4 offensive line starters, but loses star left tackle Dan Skipper. Arkansas also loses nearly every pass catcher with experience, as well as star tailback Rawleigh Williams, who hung it up a couple of months ago after his second scary injury at the Arkansas spring game.
Arkansas was pourous on defense last season, and sent defensive coordinator Robb Smith packing. The Razorbacks then hired former Auburn defensive coordinator Paul Rhodes (2008), and he is tasked with installing a 3-4 defense. That’s a tough deal usually, in the first year. Adding to the woes is that Arkansas had trouble fielding 3 capable linebackers last season, much less the 4 that this defense needs. Arkansas lost 6 starters on defense, including 5 in the front 7, to graduation.
Arkansas was respectable on special teams last season, and should be again this year, although the Razorbacks will have to find some kick returners. Kicker Cole Hedlund should be solid, punter Blake Johnson should have a strong leg, and punt returner Jared Cornelius has experience.
Auburn defensive line vs. Arkansas offensive line: Auburn brings a big, athletic defensive line back this season. Likely starters at tackle are junior Dontavius Russell and sophomore Derrick Brown. Sophomore strong-side end Marlon Davidson was a beast on A-Day. The buck side will likely be manned by a combination of junior Jeffery Holland and senior transfer Paul James III. Auburn has a good bit of depth behind the starters, as well. From left to right, the starting offensive line for Arkansas should be sophomore Colton Jackson, junior Hjalte Froholdt, senior Frank Ragnow, junior Johnny Gibson, and junior Brian Wallace. These guys had their hands full last season, even against the Auburn backups. They’ll figure to have difficulty again this year. Advantage: Auburn.
Auburn linebackers vs. Arkansas backs: The Auburn Tigers have a good cross-trained quartet of upper echelon SEC-caliber linebackers. Junior Deshaun Davis, senior Tre’ Williams, junior Darrell Williams and junior Montravious Atkinson can play all three positions, and we might see any combination of these players out on the field at a given time. With the retirement of Rawleigh Williams, Arkansas turns to sophomore Devwah Whaley, and freshman Maleek Williams to tote the rock. Whaley did have 602 rushing yards off the bench, last season. Arkansas runners averaged just 0.8 yards per carry against Auburn, last year. Advantage: Auburn.
Auburn corners vs. Arkansas receivers: Auburn has a fairly good combination of starting corners, in junior Carlton Davis and sophomore Javaris Davis. The Tigers are hoping that Jamel Dean will be healthy this fall, as he is one of the fastest players on the team. Sophomore Jeremiah Dinson could move over from nickelback, if needed. Senior Jared Cornelius headlines a young Razorback receiving corps. He’ll likely be joined by junior Brandon Martin in the starting lineup. Cornelius caught 32 balls last season. Advantage: Auburn.
Auburn safeties vs. Arkansas secondary receivers and quarterback: Auburn’s starting unit features seniors Tray Matthews and Stephen Roberts at safety, and sophomore Jeremiah Dinson at nickel back. There’s not much depth here, beyond senior Nick Ruffin, who’ll probably see as much playing time as the starters. The Tigers are solid here, as long as no one gets hurt. Sophomore Austin Cantrell moves into the starting tight end spot, after catching 13 balls as a freshman last season. Arkansas only completed 3 passes to fullbacks last season, and 21 to tailbacks. Quarterback Austin Allen had a big year last year with 25 TD passes, but also was sacked quite a bit, and threw 15 interceptions. He’ll likely be better, but the cast around him looks young. Advantage: Even.
Punting: Sophomore Ian Shannon will likely get the nod as Auburn’s starting punter, after a couple of years of waiting in the wings. Shannon has looked good on A-Day a year ago, in warmups. The Tigers gave up only 19 punt return yards last season, on 6 punts, for a stifling 3.2 yards per return. The Tigers are still auditioning for the punt returner job. It’s thought that senior Stephen Roberts has the inside track, after returning 6 punts last season for 100 yards. For Arkansas, sophomore punter Blake Johnson steps into the starting lineup, after booting 2 punts for a 47 yard average last season. We didn’t get to see him punt this spring, as the Arkansas spring scrimmage was basically just an indoor practice session. Arkansas gave up 5.6 yards per return last season, and return man Jared Cornelius had 12 returns for 85 yards. Advantage: Auburn.
Kickoffs: Daniel Carlson was very good kicking off last season, notching 57 touchbacks on 72 kickoffs. When Auburn did allow returns, opponents averaged only 18.0 yards per return. Junior Kerryon Johnson is Auburn’s most experienced return man returning, and he averaged 22.2 yards per return last season. Sophomore Conner Limpert will reprise his role kicking off for the Razorbacks again this season, after hitting 9 touchbacks on 43 kickoffs last season. Arkansas allowed 20.6 yards per return last season, while averaging just 18.6 yards per return, and they’ll have to find some new return guys, this season. Advantage: Auburn.
Place kicking: Auburn sophomore Daniel Carlson is the man for Auburn. Carlson was 28 of 32 on field goals, and perfect on extra points. One of Carlson’s misses was a block by Vanderbilt. For Arkansas, junior Cole Hedlund hit on 5 of 7 field goals, and all 25 of his extra point tries. Advantage: Auburn.
Auburn offensive line vs. Arkansas defensive line: It’s still not settled who’ll start for Auburn on the line, although the starters looked pretty good on A-Day. It seems the tackle spots are set, with seniors Darius James and Braden Smith. Senior Austin Golson will likely start at center, although Auburn is bringing in senior transfer center Casey Dunn from Jax State. If Dunn starts, Golson could move to guard. Also transferring in this fall is former Florida State starting guard Wilson Bell. Bell is expected to start at one of the guard spots. If Dunn does not beat Golson out, the other likely starting guard would be sophomore Mike Horton. Arkansas expects to go with a rotation at nose tackle, between senior Bijhon Jackson and sophomore Austin Capps. Ends should be sophomores McTelvin Agim and T. J. Smith, with junior Armand Watts getting significant playing time as well. I just don’t see these guys matching up with what Auburn has, up front. Advantage: Auburn.
Auburn backs vs. Arkansas linebackers: Auburn features junior H-back Chandler Cox blowing open holes. Running behind the big H-back will be massive junior Kamryn Pettway, and the shifty junior Kerryon Johnson in reserve. Arkansas was still trying to put together a starting lineup at the end of spring drills. Our best guess is junior Dre Greenlaw and sophomore De’Jon Harris inside, and junior Randy Ramsey and senior Karl Roesler outside. Advantage: Auburn.
Auburn receivers vs. Arkansas corners: At the end of spring, it looked like Auburn’s two starting outside guys were sophomore Nate Craig-Myers and sophomore Darius Slayton. Both guys can fly, have good height, and great hands. Redshirt freshman Marquis McClain had a great A-Day, and is someone to watch out for on the outside, as well. Arkansas will counter with a veteran pair of corners who were pretty good, last season. Senior Henre’ Tolliver and junior Ryan Pulley will start. Advantage: Even.
Auburn secondary receivers and quarterback vs. Arkansas safeties: Auburn has potential threats here, starting with wickedly fast junior slot receiver Will Hastings. Sophomore Eli Stove can also fly. Tight ends Jalen Harris and Sal Cannella are expected to be a big part of the passing game as well. Auburn quarterback Jarrett Stidham is likely the starter in the opener. In 6 games as a freshman at Baylor, Stidham was electric. That trend continued during A-Day this spring, as Stidham was deadly accurate, and showed great mobility. Arkansas moves guys with experience up to start, this season. We’ll likely see senior De’Andre Coley and junior Santos Ramirez at safeties, and Kevin Richardson II at the nickel spot. Advantage: Auburn.
I was quite worried about this matchup earlier this spring, as Arkansas has typically been pretty tough later in the season. I figured that the 56-3 beatdown Auburn put on this team last season was an outlier. However, my research this week was surprising. Arkansas will be a young team this season, and I didn’t see many answers during their spring practice. I do expect that defensive coordinator Paul Rhodes will eventually have a good product on the field, but the 3-4 isn’t the easiest thing to operate in year one, typically.
Auburn decisively whipped this team up front on both sides of the ball last season, and Auburn wasn’t the only one. My biggest takeaway after watching a big chunk of the Arkansas spring practice is that I’d be really worried, if I was a Razorback fan. Those guys have a really tough road ahead, playing in the SEC West.
Prediction: I was thinking upset special here, earlier, but there is no way Arkansas wins this game unless Auburn has horrible injury luck next season. Tigers don’t play their best in this one, but it doesn’t matter. Auburn 37, Arkansas 24.
