My favorite arknights bird girlie is Erato. Do you have any thoughts on her?

Erato is one of the very few Liberi operators that I've been sleeping on (get it get it), because she wasn't introduced in an event and there's no content about her so far (I don't think we ever got a Minos event?). So what I know about her is the basics, that she's related to Pallas and she's a bard counting the stories of the Minoan heroes... Mmmh, she got an operator record not long ago. Imma read this and her files, and I'll get back to you very soon in a reblog to lay my thoughts

wait is Mr.Nothing good in IS3 specifically?? I've had him S2M3 and moduled up since forever is it finally his time to shine????

oh boy anon i have some good news for you

i’m sure you’ve seen this talent on him, where he’ll inflict a long stun if he hasn’t attacked in a while. the very nice thing about this is that this talent applies if his attack spd is debuffed enough, or if he gets frozen/stunned/is otherwise unable to attack for long enough

so that makes him very specifically good for stalling the last knight boss in is3, who’s infamous bc tl;dr most operators will end up frozen after attacking him twice, he’s unblockable in part 2, AND he makes a beeline for the blue box

but with mr EVERYTHING you can do this:

(here i was trying to unlock the story for not having all the blocks broken on the map.. this took 84 years. scratching the boss to death with no fear of reprisal)

basically you won’t use him everywhere, but it’s one very very nice niche. people sometimes pair him with erato (who inflicts sleep) if the boss is vulnerable to both sleep and stun (mr nothing won’t attack a sleeping enemy, and when the enemy wakes up it gets stunned again, etc)

anyway it’s good you have him moduled up 👍 the talent is usable without module but so much nicer with it imo

New(ish) to Arknights

Arknights once again has a firm hold of my brain after Magic the Gathering took it over for a few weeks. Which means it's time for me to gush about another random character that I love.

This is Erato.

First and foremost her character design is <3 <3 <3

She's based off a secretary bird. If you don't know what a secretary bird is here's a picture. I love these things. Look at it! Then look at her! Perfect! Ahhhh

She is so cute. The way her hair mimics the feathers on the head of a secretary bird. The color palette on her outfit and how her nails match. The outfit itself screams elegance and her shoes are killer. The flowers in her hair. The giant harp she has to lull enemies to sleep, which I'll talk about momentarily. Everything about her design slays and makes me happy.

Gameplay wise I find her super fun. Her entire thing is telling enemies that they will go to sleep and then she will put them to sleep permanently. Her s1 puts enemies to sleep for 5 seconds and then her talent lets her shoot sleeping enemies in the face while ignoring 50% of their defense. The s2 is an atk and atsp increase which thanks to her talent also targets sleeping enemies and ignores their defense. If you have other operators that can put enemies to sleep then this skill sounds excellent but I don't – at least that I'm aware of - so I always use s1.

Her range is also enormous! She can attack 13 different tiles but none of them are the row right in front of her so it takes me a second to find the best place to put her.

Even her character itself rules. I'm not the most up to date on Arknights lore – I'm still rather new compared to most people - but from what I've gathered this woman wanted to meet her hometown hero, met her hero, thought her hero actually kinda sucked as a person, said screw it I'd be a better role model than they are, and then just did that. What a legend.

Is Erato meta? Nah probably not. Not like I'd know but I never hear anyone talk about her so I doubt it. Do you need to build her? Nah. She's fun to use cause sleep is neat and her talent/s1 combo lets her delete something once in a while but she's not carrying the squad or anything. I love her anyways though. Character, design, and fun to play? A+ in my book then.

[Classified Log] After Erato, a lover of botany and flora, discovered the Rhodes Island Convalescent Garden, she quickly became one of its most frequent visitors. However, it seems there is more than just flowers on Erato's mind. We have received reports that, on several occasions, Erato stared at Perfumer as she worked, awestruck. She seemed like she wanted to strike up a conversation, yet she always held herself back. As requested by Pallas, this record will be kept hidden for the time being.
