Both worlds are different dimensions.

Danny has always had a mark one that was a clear (shape/animal/hero symbol/whatever) on his wrist. Since the day he was born. His parents always just told him it made him even more special.

The nasty burger explosion happens.

He can’t go to vlad so he hides in the realm. Only to fall through a natural portal.

It’s then the mark gains colors.

Danny realizes the marks are soul-marks in this dimension. I prefer parental marks so that’s what the rest of my idea is for but it could be romantic/platonic as well.

Danny who just lost his entire family and feels completely at fault just says nope. he won’t risk it being a thing. It’s not even his home dimension anyways. So like it won’t match anybody anyways. Right?

So he hides the mark and just goes about life as a homeless teen with superpowers.

He’s not out looking to be a vigilante but if something is happening infringe of him and no one else is acting he will.

One day he gets caught in a bad fight. Ends up injured probably helping someone else not get hurt.

It’s then the soul mark is revealed to be for *insert dc character name here*

For some angst. Danny was original born in the dc. When a mark blackens it means the other person is dead. Or in this case separated by different dimensions. So for a year or two the other person had there marked colored only. Then Danny “died”.

The other person thought he was dead.

I actually really appreciate the fact that Gerald's journal and SXSG confirmed that Professor Gerald was, ultimately, a good guy with altruistic and well-meaning intentions, who loved both Maria and Shadow, and that it was the military and government who pushed him for weapons. It just makes his descent into insanity, grief, and revenge so much more tragic, and his actions of messing with Shadow's memories so much more horrible, and it makes these lines from his speech and in his journal so much more chilling:

"I went insane. All I could think about was to avenge her... somehow, someway. I got scared as I was no longer able to control my thoughts. All I could think about was that I wanted it all to end."

They pulled a thing kinda like in Sonic X where it showed clearly he was crying but it wouldn't show his face as he did, just a passing, silent reveal... 😭😭 And the way Rouge's expression softened into a somber realization as she registered what was going on... AUAUSUGDBFFMKSMDNFMDSMSN

[Maria and Shadow are playing chess. Abe rushes into the room to grab something and bumps into the corner of the table, knocking over the pieces. He apologizes as he hurries back out] Shadow: Ugh, damn it! Maria: It's ok. [rearrenges the pieces] Shadow: Hey, hey, what are you doing? Maria: Your knight was at king's rook six. Shadow: No, my bishop was at king's rook six. My knight was at queen five. [Talking over each other, getting heated] Maria: No, no, no. It was-- Shadow: Yes, yes, yes! Maria: No! In your dreams your knight was at queen five! Shadow: I was sitting right-- Maria: I saw right--! Shadow: Just--! ❗️IDEIA FOR A SONIC FANFIC❗️

Since Sonic 3 came out I started thinking about a fanfic were Maria's aunt (together with her uncle) gave birth to Eggman at the ARK colony when she was like 10 years old, the same period of time were Shadow was created by Gerald Robotnik.

So, by this way, Shadow take care of both of them, Maria AND her cousin Eggman, Maria was like a big sis meanwhile Ivo was more like a baby brother.

When Maria dies and Shadow falls down to the Earth, he brings kid Eggman with him, then, Shadow starts being a paternal figure to the little Robotnik, raising him, during some years till the governament discover that Shadow is alive and captures him to be freezed by 50 years, for having dangerous powers.

After Shadow's left, Eggman was raised by one of the GUN's sicientists, and have promised to himself to never forget about Shadow.

After 50 years, Eggman finally freed him. Even with some Amnesia, Shadow remembered about his promise to Maria to "take care of our little brother", and accepted to be by Eggman's side during Sonic Adventure 2 game events.

(He'll save the world because of Maria's promise again, but in this au eggman will follow Maria's desire too)

At the end, Shadow and Eggman are each other's family, and Shadow will never let sonic or anyone hurts him or his baby robots, like corbot, orbot, metal sonic and sage.

But, what about Sonic?

Sonic doesn't like Robotnik at all, cause you know, he's evil and everything, but Shadow does, that's how their rivality STARTED!
