Okay. I'm going to be honest.

"Lazurite" is going to take a break as my writing exercise. I'm thinking about deleting it because I don't think I'll be picking it up again anytime soon.

The reason for this is that I am not a fan of work overload. My main fanfiction is demanding enough to have it and another project at the same time.

So I will start a new fic to continue my writing and translating excercise called "Sapphire Hearted" and it will also be an AU, but set in the universe of Dragon's Dogma.

And let me get straight to the point: Dragon's Dogma is one of my favorite games, so writing about that universe is more satisfying to me than writing about Pokemon.

I really want to apologize to the people who liked Lazurite. I don't like to change projects like this, but with DD2 coming soon, I feel the need to imagine Hal and Lina there.

The first character I first fell in love with:

I’ll answer this in context of who my beloved was when I finally reached Grigori, and that was Aelinore! And that was without me realising she had more to her subquest fhdjf.

The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:

Grigori of course! Whilst I was instant eye zooms because he’s a dragon, his character is what immediately made him a beloved favourite!

No more evil cackling villains we have progressed past the need for evil cackling villains. Bring in the morally grey characters! They’re more fun anyway.

The character everyone else loves that I don’t:

I have no idea ghdfjkg the fandom is so small I wouldn’t know how to answer this.

The character I love that everyone else hates:

Grigori tbh, because he’s still strong willed despite how dismal the world is around him AND despite being stuck in the cycle for who knows how long. He’s definitely a good role model in that regard! :>

Any ships that involve the Pawns in a romantic sense.

They’re explicitly stated to always listen to the Arisen, no matter what (even refering to the Arisen as their Master), so the fact I’ve seen ArisenxPawn fics on AO3 makes my brain melt. I’m gonna start throwing rocks.

Favorite character: GRIGORI!! I would pay good money to spend time with him he has massive Cool Uncle vibes to me (quite literally in my crossover fic lmao) with how he talks and his calm and respectable nature towards the Arisen whenever the two are together.

Least Favorite character: Duke Edmun. Where’s the option to suplex him off that balcony during his ‘fight’ with the Arisen?

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): The Arisen with Mercedes and Aelinore because women <3

Character I find most attractive: Mercedes

Character I would marry: Again, Mercedes and Aelinore

Character I would be best friends with: GRIGORI

a random thought: When I got to the Seneschal fight on my Aldrich playthrough and I rewatch the reveal of Satanael revealing himself to me, I STILL get chills. This game REALLY knows how to create a memorable atmosphere with camera angles and music. This is why I adore all of Grigori’s appearance: The camera respects his power by only ever pointing up at him (to show he is a powerful entity/in control) or on level with the Arisen (to show he respects the Arisen as an equal). The ONLY time I can note of it pointing down at him is when you knock him out of the sky when climbing on his back, to show the fight is turning in your favour and Grigori is still mortal despite his powerful presence. Also fun fact! because of the way the camera treated him, Grigori’s fight is one I genuinely feared and I have never felt that way over a boss fight before.

An unpopular opinion: For me, the story only picks up speed/becomes apparent during/after the Deny Salvation mission and I’m someone who plays games for the story. HOWEVER, The lore behind Grigori, the Arisen, and the Seneschal is A++ for me I adore it so much! Very unique and a fantastic way to intergrate the NG+ with the story.

My Canon OTP: Honestly, the Arisen with any suitable partner lmao

My Non-canon OTP: Obviously, any of my fellow selfshippers and their ships <3

Most Badass Character:

Most Epic Villain: Guess. He’s big, red, and has a Cool Uncle voice. Also refer to my previous comments about camera angles. However, I do hesitate to call Grigori a villain exactly. He’s more an antagonist to oppose the Arisen. As in, he just wants to complete the cycle and despite having the power to burn everything to the ground, he’s cool with chillingon his mountain and napping. Same bro.

Pairing I am not a fan of: ArisenxPawn. BAD BAD BAD

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I suppose Aelinore and arguably Duke Edmun when you take into account her romance route. After being thrown into the dungeons, nothing else comes of it and it just happens. I would have preferred if the characters acknowledged it more because it goes nowhere.

Favourite Friendship: Quina and the Arisen.

Character I most identify with: The goblins that appear before Grigori’s fight who just want to eat and sleep.

Character I wish I could be: The window Edumn falls through so I can cut him up with glass.

Snippet Sunday Monday

Thank you so much for the tag @roguishcat ! I enjoyed your snippet! It reminded me I really should get on the ball with my own BG3 fic but lately Starfield and now Dragon's Dogma 2 has been on the brain.

I just posted a chapter update today for Heavy Metal Lover but this photo has been speaking to me since I had captured it the other day.

I'll tag: @bearlytolerant @lisa-and-shadow and @arisenreborn since they are my current dd2 content creators atm. No push to post. I know y'all have already, but I figured I should tag somebody. Anyone who reads this and wants to participate is welcomed to join and tag me.

Eric the Viking x Ghoul content (arisenxpawn)

“You know I trust you, Arisen.” Eric said with subtle apprehension. There was something on his mind and Ghoul could see it float like starlight in his eyes.

“And I trust you, Eric.” She reassured him, hoping to ease out of him to speak his mind. Any other time he gave his thoughts freely and unapologetically so she was concerned about the sudden hesitance. It was in his stance, his shoulders, his tight grimace. Eric has proven to be fearless over and over again within their travels. More fearless than even Ghoul herself could be sometimes; so, she wondered what ate at him this way.

“Then perhaps we should continue a different path.” He let out with a breath of relief as if it had pained him to hold it in for so long. “The Queen Regiment’s games are no fool’s play. The way they watch you here. It is a cause of concern.”

“Concern?” Ghoul absorbed Eric’s warning. He was usually the first to claim within the group he knows not of what the next step they should take but it seemed the large pawn used his ignorance as a defense. “Do you no longer believe in me?”

“What?” Eric broke his stare at the wanning fire and turned his blue glacier eyes onto her. There was a flash of pain that decorated his face. “I stand by you and only you. My thoughts are only of you, Arisen.”

“What a plague it must be then.” Ghoul muttered softly. She closed the space between them and reached towards his face, naturally Eric leaned in freely allowing her touch. Her fingers gently moved a stray of hair that hung near his eyes. “You should think of other things. Your health. Your safety.”

“A plague that I will let consume me with pleasure. Forgo my health and my safety. It does not matter if it hinders your success.” His large hand wrapped around her wrist to hold her in place and Eric continued his gaze into her golden eyes. His eyes spoke more than his lips did and she was curious of the exact thoughts that plagued her pawn. “I believe in your destiny and I will protect you till the end. But if I were to speak so freely, I do not recommend our current path. I do not wish to see ill fall upon you, my master.”  

“When will you call me by my name?” Ghoul scoffed softly in amusement. She had told it to him on many occasions at this point. She knew he knew it.

“Are you not hearing my words?” Eric asked with an edge of annoyance. There was his usual attitude, quick to change like the season.

“I do. I do.” Ghoul slowly pried his fingers off of her and he let go only to cross his arms against that broad stone chest of his. “I hear you.”

The writing bug has hit me today. It's long overdue. I have missed writing creatively.
