sooo jumping right into it :) her being all "i'm not a stereotypical feminine girl" kinda makes sense considering she's native american and ppl constantly sexualise girls of their culture. also the only female role models she would have had growing up would be women in the film industry and they aren't exactly NOT sexualised by public eyes. her first hand experiences with femininity have always been associated with inferiority and shallowness and surface level beauty.

also even if rick didn't intend for her to be queer from the start, she was VERY comphet lesbian coded. the way she always thought about jason was very reminiscent of when i was young and trying to convince myself i had a crush on this guy. also jason & piper's memories together were literally FAKED by hera. ppl talk about that when expressing admiration for jason but conveniently forget about it when it comes to piper like really?? and did i forget the daddy issues me & piper both share????

that girl had SEVERE insecurities about being incompetent (again, complicated relationship with femininity.. also among the 7) despite probably being the one who's single-handedly saved them from troubles the most number of times out of all the 7.

I've gotten an influx of followers so I wanted to make a post so people know what's going on here without having a scroll through a hundred posts.

First of all, hello! This is a side blog where I post (mostly my own content) about dogs. I'm a wildlife biologist and I've been here for almost a decade at this point. My main blog is mostly for relogs and the occasional vent and that's over at @some-sort-of-ecologist.

This blog primarily featured Maverick, who was my extremely beloved brittany spaniel. We did a lot of really cool things together, including traveling across Canada and trying out a ton of different dog sports, but mostly he was just my little friend I hung out with. He damaged his spine in an irreparable way sometime in 2022 and was compassionately euthanized in June 2023 when he started losing control of his hind end. His tag on this blog is #maverick and you can hide #mav memories if you don't want to see the sad posts after he was gone.

I'm planning on getting another dog in 2024 but won't be posting much here until then. I'll still be around on my main blog and happy to talk about dogs, but I won't be here as much.

Anyway that's about it. These are some of my favourite pictures of Mav and me. He was the coolest dog in the world.

back to that lrb, but i wish what was released for arise after the game actually said what was shionne's deal. it was one of my biggest gripes after ending the game, just like we know absolutely nothing about alphen's life before he gets abducted (arise would improve so much if okuda had remembered characters still exist outside of what's relevant for their romantic relationships)

though around the tov->tox era i quickly became exhausted of how much material never made it into the games and refused to take anything that wasn't in it as canon, as the years passed i kinda warmed up to it: it's annoying to have to track down everything, but still better than just leaving your worldbuilding and characters hanging

... at the same time though, i still look at berseria's perfect guide and think that this really should have been in the actual game, because it changes everything

actually re: my last post. law’s theme makes me go crazy. its called obstinate loneliness. on disc 2 of the soundtrack.

first of all its called obstinate loneliness. law never had to set out on his own and he always would have been welcomed back home but he put himself in a worse position purely out of stubbornness and a hint of self delusion.

second of all it has the same percussion punches that the music in calaglia does (fierce blaze, beneath the rule of fire) but not overwhelmingly so. just enough to show he has a connection to calaglia and zephyr.

then there’s that quick shift to a sudden major chord, just enough to sound hopeful, the way the main theme does, before plunging back into a very dark sound, the heroism of the brass section almost turning mournful when all the background sections drop out. its got the energy of a boss fight, because he’s introduced as an enemy.

also. theres a hint of the night & light music in there 😏 just in case u forgot he was a member of the snake eyes 🤫

hugely underrated track also its so good to listen to
