As a reminder, the next chapter of the Episode of Savanaclaw has been delayed to January. This post will cover my reactions to the 4koma and parts of the new Episode of Octavinelle chapter.

That first image is also sooo wild, Azul is arched so dramatically...

Small detail; I like how the manga tries to fill in some of the logical gaps that we don't think of or overlook in the game. In the game, we are shown obviously fighting Azul underwater. If you think about it for a while, you'd start wondering how we're breathing because only Yuu, Grim, Adeuce, and Jack got the potion that allows them to breathe underwater. It looks like (at least based on what the manga shows us), visitors to Octavinelle always get encased in a magical bubble that grants them oxygen.

AAYYYYYYY THE UPPERCLASSMEN COMING IN CLUTCH TO SAVE THEIR JUNIORSSSSS 😭😭😭

OOOOOOOH :00 I love how we get to see the guys from the previous dorm pitch in and use their UMs during the fight! We got to see both Trey and Cater using their UMs in the fight against OB Riddle too, so seeing the active involvement of other characters moving forward is so nice. Jack uses his wolf form to save Ruggie from drowning! Ruggie uses Laugh with Me to try and restrain Azul. And, of course, we got the Big Bad Bitch himself trying to bury Azul in rubble. (ahdbaoaiegfai Was it intentional that Leona was framed so that it looks like he's standing atop Pride Rock????)

Bro continues to make some of the most unhinged expressions conceived by man... I do NOT remember OB Riddle looking THIS crazy back in the Episode of Heartslabyul.

AHHHHHHHHHHHAHHHHHHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THE TWINS, THE TWIIIIIIIIINS OTL They're all beaten up but they're still so determined to save Azul...

It's interesting to see that OB Azul still maintains a level of self-control in the manga...? It seemed to me like all OBs are primarily fueled by rage, but here OB Azul continues to offer people an "out" by tempting them to make a deal with him. It also shows us just how desperate he is for the twins' company... He wants them to willingly join his side BECAUSE HE CARES ABOUT THEIR APPROVFAL AAAAAAAAHHHHHAHHHHHHHH

Ooooh, more references to The Little Mermaid film!! I'm pretty sure Floyd is luring OB Azul to the sunken ship that Ariel was exploring at the start of the film.

This month's 4koma features Rook as the main character! He's looking for a model and gemstones for an art project. Rook ends up helping Jack find his lost fang charm (from his necklace) by communicating with a hedgehog, and Jack thanks him by modelling for Rook.

Rook and the hedgehog have a lot of adorable faces!! Very memeable, 11/10 👍

In my opinion…

One of us Cluus is a sucker for sparkles, and dressup.

The theater looks amazing, as does Peach and Stella. And I love how those sparklas’s noses shine.

We hope to see more Princess Peach games in the future.

So, which of these costume do you like on Peach best?

🌹Swordfighter Peach

Honestly, she should’ve been called “Musketeer Peach”. Oh well.

Love her outfit. She looks so heroic and elegant.

Gotta love her swordplay. And with just the right timing, her agility is magnifique.

🥷Ninja Peach

A costume fit for a ninja.

What’s awesome about Peach’s costume is the swift attack, camouflage technique, wall-jumping, wall-running, and water-skating.

Move aside, Jessie! There’s a new cowgirl in town.

With that outfit, it should come with a sheriff’s badge.

The lasso was so much fun. To think they should’ve also add an Indiana Jones whip-swing to it.

I think conveying visceral emotion through character dialogue, interactions, and introspection is a strong suit I have. I've always found that aspect of writing to be easiest.

I think this is a good question to ponder. Strictly from a reader's point of view, a piece can have beautiful, atmospheric writing, flawless grammar, an interesting premise and good characterization, but I will still not finish it, not because it was lacking, but because something just didn't 'work' for me. Other times I can fall into a silly little fic with grammar mistakes here and there, perhaps the writing is simpler, maybe it's a little nonsensical, but I love it anyway and it scratches an itch. So, really it depends.

In terms of my own writing...well, everything.

Writing is important to me because it takes the thoughts in my head and puts them somewhere that they're not liable to get into car crashes with each other. Also a healthy bit of catharsis along the way.

Oh lord, none, I hope. At least not without my permission. I admit that I do often read my drafts out loud at night when alone to get the feel of the words, and the thought has crossed my mind for Broken Bird, but for now, none.

Nah but I'm still working on Broken Bird, and given some thought, reading over what I have, and a bit of reworking on scenes, I think I'm actually going to have Ariel talk about how she feels in the upcoming chapters. Also also, working on developing another character (one of Ariel and Leliana's kids) as an adolescent for another ask game I have in my back pocket.

💎 are there any fun facts or trivia that you would like to share?

YES THANK YOU

-Vide Noir was originally intended to release in 2020 but was delayed due to the pandemic. There is, however, multiple clips in the album teaser back in 2018 from the movie so at least some portion of it was likely filmed around that time.

-you can also hear multiple songs from Long Lost during the movie, even though the album came out in 2021, so it also would have acted as their album teaser (something they do for all of their albums) for Long Lost.

-everyone saw the Cobb Avery cameo BUT there was also a Tubbs Tarbell cameo (on the TV during the motel scene) and a Big Jim (during the beginning credits) cameo

-Despite the "Dead Man's Hand" story being part of the Strange Trails album and not the Vide Noir album, it's portrayed in the film and actually makes Johnnie's part (as well the World Enders) integral to Buck's storyline despite this not being clear in the original album. not that im complaining I'll take another iteration of dead man's hand if it means seeing Johnnie again

-Vide Noir basically overhauled Buck's entire character in the lore from "sad lovesick country singer" to "absolute mess of a man who constantly lies for no reason and cannot be left alone for five minutes because he WILL cause problems for everyone” and for one am here for it. it also introduces the fact that he can see ghosts which?? was never brought up before???

-Secret of Life and Balancer's Eye despite being on the album don't play a role in the movie. Moonbeam doesn't have an explanation either. it's a weird case tho because while we do have a character named Moonbeam, the song is a love song and she and Buck have such little romantic chemistry even the wiki points it out.

-The movie kinda fucks with the lore A LOT but one point that bothers me the most is the existence of Alex. Like for the longest time we were told Dale was the leader of TWE and Johnnie's older brother, but when we get to Johnnie's part where he's talking about his brother as the leader he says its Alex, someone we've never heard of until now, and makes no mention of Dale at all. The Phantom Riders have a cameo but they aren't credited by name so like?? where is Dale?? what happened to him?? was he the leader at some point but not anymore?? who the fuck is Alex??? there's a third Redmayne brother?? ben whats going on here

-The song listed as Lee's Song that appears throughout the film is actually "I Lied". do with this information what you will :)

-The movie is direct by Ariel Vida, who also directed The World Ender music video and acted as a producer on the Fool for Love music video. everyone say thank you

💎What is DCA?💎

Diamond Crown Academy (DCA) is a fan-made school based on Disney princesses for Twisted Wonderland. The school has 10 dormitories based on the princesses/heroines of the 2D era, and has the reputation of being a prestigious academy for its various fields of learning other than magic. 

The school is also know for the production of idols and idol groups that perform all over Twisted Wonderland at certain schedules. Many have speculated how DCA can be on par with Night Raven College (NRC) and Royal Sword Academy (RSA) in terms of history and popularity.

・❥ The dorm was founded on the Adventurous Spirit of the Secretive Mermaid Princess. Almost all of the students in the dorm have some lineage relating to sea creatures. 

・❥ The dorm is located underwater, but the actual building is a sunken ship with numerous clusters of ginormous clams growing from the middle. The cluster has plenty of space to navigate around with more than enough space to swim in. Though there are special runes in the area that allow land dwellers to visit and walk about as if they were on the surface.

・❥ Students in this dorm excel at Archeology and Music.

・❥ The dorm was founded on the Intellect of the Golden Maiden. A lot of the students in this dorm are known for their interest in literature of different genres as well as their skills in constructing inventions.

・❥ The dorm is a large, gothic castle that is built on a mountain with a dense forest surrounding it. The castle has a certain mystery to it known by the dorm students. Said mystery is that certain furniture was able to talk with the students and interact with them.

・❥ Students in this dorm excel in Basic Etiquette and Magic Incantations.

・❥ The dorm was founded on the Headstrong Heart of the Princess of Sand. This dorm was apparently built above a mysterious cavern filled with treasures beyond one’s imagination. But not a lot of people seem convinced.

・❥ The dorm has a middle eastern architecture with plenty of gardens built around as well as inside the dorm premises. The gardens attract plenty of wildlife native to the desert biome. Such as, Parrots, camels, monkeys and even snakes.

・❥ Students in this dorm excel in Cultural Dance and Horticulture.

・❥ The dorm was founded on the Bravery of the Maiden with the Dragon Sword. The students follow her example in morality as well as physical training, therefore, students can be seen performing different types of workouts.

・❥ The dorm is a large Chinese-style mansion that sits on top of the hill while the bottom has a square spacious for any activity. There is even a shrine for students to pray for good fortune. The dorm also has a basement where students can use the blacksmith workshop.

・❥ Students in this dorm excel in Martial Arts, Swordsmanship and the Study of Magical Relics.

・❥ The dorm is actually the individual log houses built by the students, all of them looked different as they add functions suited to their tastes. The entire dorm looks like a village. In the middle of the field is a large tree that has been hollowed out and houses incredible wooden automatons.

・❥ The dorm was founded on the Ambitions of Maiden in the City of Lights. The students are known for being the most social out of all the dorms. They are known for throwing the best parties and events.

・❥ The dorm is a large ship that is placed on a large lake, there’s an even smaller boat that goes around the river routes and acts as a floating restaurant. The dorm is in the middle of a marsh full of reptiles and amphibians which can look intimidating until they realize that they are rather docile and would even be fed by the students.

💎 DIAMOND - how rich are they? can they live the lifestyle they want to?

Roan: not rich, not poor, perfectly in the middle so they can afford their lifestyle

Riven: not at all, they see little value to money and care not for it, their life style is pretty chaotic so yes, they can afford it most times

Sage: answer is - very rich, more than they let on, and they live in a haunted mansion

Ariel: they are very well off as they have a hoarding problem and prefer a practical lifestyle, so any and all monetary appreciation they get for their vigilante actions just keep accumulating, and continued to do so for... quite a while

Sasha: yes and no, they are pretty loaded but not in a way one would expect - their 'souvenirs' from the past are worth a small fortune, and they don't wish to liquidate it any time soon, so they play the good citizen and have a mundane illegal job to afford their lifestyle

Khari: they have a lifestyle they like and worked for, and they intend to upkeep it. They are careful about how they handle their finances as they are used to travelling around the world, and some things that would be a spoiler. answer is - they could quit their job and never work again and still live pretty comfortably.

Morgan is in similar situation as Roan. No real worries about money, perfectly in the middle. Can definitely afford their lifestyle (which is all nighters and hoarding all blankets and pillows on the bed).

in short, the richest would be: Sage <- Khari/Sasha <- Ariel <- Roan/Morgan <- Riven, but in the end all of them don't have to worry about money. that's the one trauma I won't give them I'm not heartless
