Your takeaway on the Blue Exorcist Movie, if you watched it?

I have watched it, and I highly recommend it.

The movie is in a strange place between canon and not what with all the new characters it introduces who are canon (Cheng-Long Liu and Usamaro in particular come to mind) and the fact that it covers a story from a volume extra (the spirit train.) But I think it fits in tremendously well with the canon of Blue Exorcist. Nothing in it, except maybe the fact that Rin knows Liu, seems to grate hard against the canon of the manga. And let's be honest, Rin wouldn't remember if he'd met Liu or not before with how terrible he is with names and faces.

The animation is colorful and well done without a lot of the gremlin shot you get in the first season where there wasn't budget or care to keep the background (and sometimes even foreground) characters on their model. Each of the characters personalities are captured well and painted warmly so that I don't think anyone would have a complaint of their favorite character being painted ooc which is a common (justified) complaint of the anime extra/filler episodes.

The introduced demons are fun (MOLB and Usamaro being particular favorites) and you get a closer look at the seals and protective magic used around the Academy. There are more shots of the Tokyo Field Office, some cool Arias, and a story at the center of it that will make you cry which (in my opinion) beautifully reflects a lot of the themes throughout aoex.

If you haven't seen it, I recommend seeing it, but I'd also recommend a tissue box while you do. It made me cry and it's something I love rewatching.

Alright, I have to admit I have not kept up at all with the Carnage/Flash side of Venom comic verse these past few years, so - who is Aria? The few issues I've read centered on Flash during these wacky symbiote times did not contain her, and the Marvel comics wiki gives me nothing. But you have me curious.

Hey there, friend! You wanna know who Aria is? Well, that's exactly what I'm here for. You're right, though - I'm not sure she even has a wiki article yet. She doesn't even have a last name! But I'm all for those underappreciated characters, so, let's go.

(Carnage #1)

We first meet Aria as the bartender at the very on-the-nose-named "Pour Decisions" bar. "Wait, isn't Flash an alcoholic?" Well... yeah. But Aria doesn't know that. And As you can see by the narration, it doesn't have the same effect on him that it used to. But, you'll see this is just another demon he has to battle.

Aria is clearly familiar with Flash - he's become a regular by this point. He's also a bit of a loner but he still knows how to put on the charm. But also, Aria understandably shows some concerns about him.

Flash is seeking purpose in his life, but he's not finding it. Aria knows he's well-meaning, but as always, Flash sometimes gets himself into trouble when he tries to help. It's too bad!

Because Flash is the best, he does apologize for his ill-timed heroics, and like, honestly, who can stay mad at him? Not Aria, even with her perfect hair. (I love her hair.)

(Carnage #2)

She also calls him out on looking like a damn mess.

She's SO into him though and it's so cute. I'm gonna cry. She wants to take that boy home and [redacted/saved for fanfic].

Aria unfortunately vanishes for most of the rest of the series, but since we're appreciating women, let's appreciate Liz for a second here too, after she and Flash take down Carnage.

I'm always giggling at this. Flash doesn't get why there are so many damn symbiotes these days, either.

So even though Aria saw Flash initially as a mess (which he was)...

...after nearly dying at Carnage's hand multiple times/almost losing his mom/being trapped in the Darkforce Cube etc etc, he decides he's got to put himself back together. I do like the panel of him fixing one of his prostheses a lot. It's a nice touch we haven't seen the likes of since Space Knight. (Nice job, Gronbekk & Perez!)

I love this scene where she makes him a mocktail. A fruity little drink. And he does love it. Because who wouldn't.

Like, oh my God, even Liz sees it. She's definitely hinting that if Flash doesn't snatch up Aria, she will.

And then my most FAVOURITE Flash/Aria scene... that truly solidifies that maybe possibly there's a chance for them??? MAYBE??

THAT BOY IS GETTING LAAAAAAAAAAAID ahem. Anyways.

I just, I really love this! It's spot-on with the fact that when Flash is really into someone, he's kind of awkward! But he's soooo sincere and Aria is SO into it. He's taking active interest in what she's into! He's pulling himself together! He's living again!

I want Flash/Aria to happen so badly like, you don't even know. I want them to go jogging in crop tops together. I want them watching birds and getting coffee and her giving him That Look fifteen more times. I want him to treat her RIGHT and for this to be his best relationship since Betty.

But mostly, I just want Aria to survive the next goddamn event.

I thought of something worse than fatso‘s wife could’ve been or became. A banshee. Specifically the original interpretation in Gaelic folklore, a female spirit whose appearance or wailing warns a family that one of them will soon die. The more sorrowful note that would probably match the poor girl, is that a banshee may lament a person who had been "gifted with music and song"…. Ouch.

Well based on this, and the additional information you provided on another ask you sent me. This is what I have envisioned based upon it.

Even though she looks like her old self, I wouldn’t doubt that her form gets misshapen and contorted by all the pain she had gone through emotionally and mentally after seeing her true love pass away in her arms. Though she would’ve lived a long life and raise the child she had with Franklin, that woman was likely stuck in time. Always missing Franklin (Fatso).

I’d still be optimistic and say they both have a fun great great (I don’t know how many greats) grandchild. So full of spunk and dresses odd. Not a normal thing they are, but oh so confident and digs the paranormal. Perhaps that child will find a way to bring these two old souls together.

What a concept. Kinda like it.

Yeah… Apollo would probably keep it on his conscious that he did play a part in Dark Matter’s strength growing. He’s not exactly the most positive Pokémon and can be rather blunt if not unintentionally cruel at points (looks at Chip)

alex would get frustrated first because she's around them both the most, followed pretty quickly by sam. andrea seems like she's not around them both together very often so she would take the longest. alex would be soft about it. she wants them both to be happy, but she also knows how much they've both been through and understands how hard it is for them (even if it does make her want to bash her head against the wall). sam would be the one to snap and be like, "just ask her out already!" probably to lena. i can see lena getting drunk one night and sam just loses it like "oh my GOD lena i can't deal with this. i love you, but you need to say something before i smack you." and i can see andrea just watching it all unfold, honestly. smirk on her face and all.

Hiii, huge fan of your Rejuv fanarts!! I noticed that your Interceptor now has a huge burn on her left arm, so I kinda wondered-- What happened? Was it from Mount Valor?

LOVELY QUESTION!!! you're absolutely right! I've been wanting to implement it for a while but i kept forgetting to draw the burn lol.

there's one little difference in how the interceptor goes about mt. valor for me. instead of falling in after being pushed into the lava by geara, aria…actually jumps in by herself. after nim! it's not very thought out at all — she almost had nim in her grip, and when she hears the latch open and understands nim is about to fall into the lava, she's grasping for the pokeball containing her talonflame and going right into the lava as well. the window of time left to save nim is so much shorter than she could have possibly thought, and she obviously doesn't manage. aria barely has the time to click talonflame out of the pokeball before the world's gone black (red?). that saving nim would be impossible regardless isn't the point for her; if aria thought for a singular moment (and she does think as much) that nim could be rescued in the price of bodily harm coming for her own self, then, well. it's not even a conscious choice.

the burn is in her left arm because that's the very first thing that touches the ineffable heat — to the very last moment, aria falls in with her hand outstretched, reaching out for nim. the interceptor ressurection is supposed to restore everything back in place, but it's such a violent and abrupt end that i suppose some things come back faulty. her vocal chords are mostly fried (her last moments were spent screaming. not that she remembers, anyway) and there's this huge, ugly burn in her arm that she gets to stare at everytime she throws a pokeball into a pokemon battle. aria doesn't mind it, much. she deeply resents the situation leading up to it, yes, but not the memento. if anything, she thinks it's a good reminder to have. something that feels hers, for once, in this body.

crescent would be horrified, i think. it's a constant reminder to >her< just the lengths aria is very much willing to go through for These People and it probably stings. a lot. for lorna, later on — while in-game she reluctantly battles the interceptor anyways in zone zero, here she just wouldn't be able to bring herself to. there's literally a physical mark of how much she was loved by a friend right in front of her!!! goodness!!!!

AUGH kicking pebbles on the ground…very lengthy answer for a simple question but i love talking about my coughing baby 💘… anyways solely for art purposes it's also just a way to differentiate post-terajuma interceptor!

oh god, so it depends on the toothbrush, i’ve noticed ‘normal’ ones aren’t as bad, but pursonics are the devil incarnate. it’s an intense vibration that tickles like hell. which is why i’m debating buying another one so i can own two 🥴

i experienced an assortment of tools this past weekend with @axie-axo (which i will be posting a story time for soon).

as for the second part of your ask, i would say the most effective tools were the pursonic on my feet, ears, thigh creases, and butt. oh and my ribs. grooming gloves and oil are also terrible on my feet, as well as the water pick flosser. gosh i can’t even remember what else we tried, those are the ones that immediately came to mind.

The reason he survived so long is because his ability works similar to Atsushi’s (the tiger part giving him regenerative powers) which would explain why Fyodor’s scar is gone (crime and punishment regenerate each other and exist in tandem the same way his character Raskolnikov punishes his landlady creating a crime creating a punishment on him in return)

The only thing is that we've seen him kill people who were likely not criminals before too, like Karma. Or well, he was technically a criminal but I doubt he killed many people, if any at all.

I actually haven't finished crime and punishment yet because I honestly forgot about it and didn't feel like rereading the part I had already read yet but don't remember enough to continue where I left off. I really should get back to it soon. I love Dostoyevsky sm!

Anyways, as of now 114 does seem to sadly disprove most theories (my own included). Or maybe Dazai just has it all wrong which honestly, it'd be kinda funny if this is just Dazai overthinking stuff but I doubt it. Either way I really like the idea of his ability adding on years to his lifespan depending on what crimes his victims have committed. That's very interesting and creative honestly. But what do you mean that their punishment is the way they've killed the most? From what we've seen he's really only killed people by basically exploding them from the inside or something of the sort. Yeah idk, this is cool though!!

I am also surprised by the lack of post canon travelers fics, but that's probably because they're league of legends players. The only one I really know of is "Ending/Beginning" by PenchantPal, which is a oneshot about Sundancer and also Taylor is there.

If you want good uncomfortable fics, I'd recommend "Don't do Brains!" by Idiom Alpha, and "Soliloquy" by keighthundred.

"Don't do brains" is about Amy doing some deranged stuff, and "Soliloquy" is an au of an au about a Taylor who was part of the Slaughterhouse 9 and her clone who became Khepri.

If you want good Comedy fics, I'd recommend "Loaf" (and it's sequel Case) by Maroon_sweater, and "Santa-Assault and Imp the Elf" by Rukaio Alter.

"Loaf" is about Contessa trying (and failing) to bake bread without her powers. SA+IE is about Aisha and Assault having a very bad day.

If you want good general fics, I'd recommend "The Great Escape" by Colossal Mistake, and "Cogito Era Lung" by The Steve.

"The Great Escape" is about Eidolon trying to captured escape birdcage prisoners, and "Cogito Era Lung" is an actually good Peggy Sue about post canon Taylor having to share brain space with a during canon Lung.

Don't do brains, Loaf (+Case), Santa-Assault and Imp the Elf, and Cogito Era Lung can be found on Spacebattles, while the others can be found on ao3. All of these fics have good characterization, and are thus all favs. Sorry for the tangent, trying to find good Worm fanfiction is my personal Sisyphean curse.

I've read Soliloquy before (maybe a year or so ago?) and I really enjoyed it!!

Lol of course she does. She rotates between her toys because she doesn’t want anyone left out. Unfortunately her favorite toy is a big orange transformer-esque robot. Not exactly pleasant to sleep cuddle with. She tried still because she felt bad that he got left out but it was just too uncomfy. So to make up for it she makes him his own little bed out of spare pillows and such every night for him to sleep on.

30. Sec - What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven?

Ask Kinito to take her inside the computer and love her. Yes this counts for Adminverse AND Abandonware verse. After all, that forgiveness includes her being able to forgive herself.

17. Arlee - Do they like children?

Yes. Granted, she doesn’t like looking after them. She does not have the patience to deal with them long-term. But she does like playing with them, and they tend to like playing with her because shes so high energy and honestly kinda whacky. She’s happy to act silly for kids to get them to laugh. Very “cool older cousin” energy. Arlee also finds sassy kids, or the ones who bluntly state the things adults won’t, hilarious.

Hurt a kid on her watch and you will end up with a black eye at best.

Really the only reason I have not got her interacting with Rona in Electric Dissonance is it would quickly be me talking to myself on the blog a lot. I can’t let her get attached guys it would derail so much! Watsonian explanation is that shes tunnel visoned on poking the bear and helping out Sam.

6. Rona, Clione - Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?

Rona thinks a lot of Miss Evans, her tutor. Because she is an adult who spends a lot of positive time with her and listens to her. She considers Miss Evans to be the smartest person she knows, so takes what she says seriously. To a lesser degree, this applies to Rona’s Aunt Karen. After all, no kid listens to what their parent says 100% of the time XD.

If Rona considers someone a bully, then she has no respect for what they might think. In fact, she thinks they should all listen to her advice! She clearly knows better! She stays polite because both Miss Evans and Aunt Karen gave her a dressing down after she started getting a bit actively nasty towards “bullies “rather than just sticking up for kids when needed. She doesn’t want to become like them, does she?

Clione… doesn’t really trust anyone that much. Not even herself. After all, she knows how easily her own internal bias, feelings and unconscious thoughts can cloud her judgement. And if she is like that and aware of it and still constantly makes mistakes, how much more other people who don’t think about these sorts of things? So there is nobody who she would listen to fully without questioning them ever.

But on the flip side, there is nobody she is 100% dismissive of. Everyone has a unique view and that means everyone has at least one thing they can see that nobody else can. Nobody is 100% wrong or right. Everyone has something they can teach you. And there is something in you that you can teach everyone else.

Granted, Clione will absolutely consider her own opinion first and foremost the majority of the time!
