Poseidon's wife and Queen of Sea herself! I was feeling like I wasn't going hard enough on Aphrodite's design, so I did skip Ares for now to test the amount of detail I'm comfortable drawing while also achieving the look I want.

Amphitrite is either said to be a Nereid or an Oceanid, so her parents change depending on the origin, but is regardless a nymph. Idk if she's gonna have webbed hands or not, we'll see when I actually commit to drawing them. One of her sacred animals is of the seal, so in reference to spotted seals, I have her spots around her body.

Amphitrite is an amazing dancer, as her beauty and moves are what attracted Poseidon, so I felt inspired by those skirts that start more slim on the thighs to fanning out fabrics. I think it makes it look fun, though idk how dance friendly these dresses are. The midsection of her dress is of like fishnet material but in the shape of scales, as I didn't really want to give her any scales. I will probably remove the little tear-drop clips on her dress because they feel unnecessary. Also making them blue would be weird.

From how I see the majority people draw Poseidon with long, straight hair, I thought it'd be fun to have his wife contrast him with curly, messier hair. A friend told me they probably draw Poseidon this way because of wet hair. For me, I want to be because Amphitrite represents the calmer waters while Poseidon makes the violent waves, and have their hair represent the opposite of that. Also when drawing her hair, I didn't do the finned ears yet, so when I added them in + the crown, I didn't know of she should have bangs or not. Instead I made it this weird braid that's in front and behind her ears. It seems kind of stupid but I like how it looks lol My favorite part is her crown made of crab claws. Usually it's depicted specifically with the thorns on crab claws, but I wanted it to just be straight up crab claws. They're not pointy because she's usually quite gentle, but when angered I wanted the claws to sharpen and show its spikes and open.

And she cries bubbles because I said so, and floating hair that look like wave ripples

okay like i'm enjoying the percy jackson show or whatever but like why are all the gods just boring ass white guys. i'm gonna be honest i don't really like pretty much all the depictions of the olympians they've shown except dionysus. they just felt like. so boring to me

Once saw a pjo Fan comment that Ares was Zeus favourite son because of trials of Apollo and I died inside a little bit. So enjoy my rant about it

1. Apollo in nearly every single myth is described as his dads favourite. No beating around the bush that’s his favourite son (and highly likely child).

2. The Iliad (basic Greek mythology reading) has Zeus tell everyone in the council that Ares is his least favourite child (most likely in all the Gods too)

3. Ares is incredibly loyal to his mother and through many texts (that aren’t biased towards Athena) is seen to love his siblings a whole lot, no matter what his mother says about them. In the myth of him getting abducted by the twin giants who were threatening to r@pe his mother and sister (Artemis) and to force them to marry them. Ares was angered by this and scared for this and tried to fight them by himself leading to his capture, torture and in some tales even r@pe until Hermes rescued him

4. He is the only God (in my memory) to not have ever sa ANYONE. Every single relationship was consensual and is the only man in his family to ever do so with Zeus, Hermes, Hephaestus, Apollo, Hades, Poseidon and Dionysus all having sa people

5. One thing that boils my blood the most though in pjo is his treatment of his children. Ares was despised by his father and his mother put a lot of pressure on him to be perfect for her legacy, causing him to act out a lot and be perceived as vicious and brutal. In every myth though he never wanted his children to feel the same way he did and was apart of every single one of his child’s life.

was thinking about next-gen kids and decided to doodle a couple. elaborated thoughts below:

Iphis is named with the same naming conventions that Sally used when naming Percy - primarily, mythological figure who had a good fate. Nice for Percy to honor his mom by naming his own kid the same way and Annabeth gets a fun nerdy mythology name. Also sending good vibes to their kid. Plus middle name directly in honor of Sally, of course.

Specific myth is Iphis and Ianthe, with the idea that a.) it's gender-neutral so works regardless of kid's gender and b.) not only does Iphis have a good fate, but arguably nothing bad happens to them ever and they get helped out by like three whole pantheons who show up in a literal parade and they live happily ever after. Percy and Annabeth are pushing for the BEST vibes possible.

(Also I am a very strong proponent of the "I don't think they'd name their kids after dead family/friends" so none of them have that)

Iphis of course inherited the Jackson family early grey hairs <3

Virginia is named after Juniper (cause Juniper is specifically implied to be Juniperus virginiana). She's probably been childhood bffs with Iphis since Iphis was born.

Do you ever think about how OP Frank and Hazel's kid would be. It's ridiculous. Quadruple legacy, including 2/3 of the Big Three. Frank by himself was already so OP the gods had to nerf him. Hazel came back from the dead and Frank kinda just said "nope" to dying that one time. Hazel presumably has every power that Nico has which is. A lot. Not to mention what Hazel has been shown to just be able to do on her own (including but not limited to SINKING AN ENTIRE SMALL ISLAND). Ares/Mars kids can functionally be completely invulnerable sometimes and also have some limited necromancy. Combo that with Hades/Pluto kids also being hard to kill and having necromancy as one of their main powers. Not to mention how Pluto geokinesis might combo with Chloris (goddess of spring) powers? And this kid is 100% being protected by both Nico (who is probably a deity by that point) and probably Pluto himself as well? Hello?

Anyways Hazel and Frank's kid is a total powerhouse. Possibly functionally immortal. Easily strongest demigod of her generation.

I like to think the latent Chloris legacy would crop up (probably in combo with Mars and Poseidon's plant aspects) and give them an accidental Persephone-type theme and that's fun. Frazel's goth daughter who takes after her grandmother (and uncle).

Figured since Frank is Canadian and Hazel is from Louisiana they'd go for a French name. The flower theme was not intentional on their part it just happened. Law of demigod naming conventions appears nonetheless.

I figure Leo might not have kids of his own but he probably still hangs around with Hazel and Frank so of course he's going to make their kid a cool thematic robot pet. He's probably her godfather or something.

Ronan is literally just some kid who showed up at the Chase Space who coincidentally was a legacy of Freyr and could shapeshift. Magnus and Alex obviously can't have kids cause they're dead, BUT some orphan with essentially a combo of their powers just shows up on their doorstep? Their kid now.

The ironic part is of course their shapeshifting powers just happen to be because they're distantly related to one of Annabeth's friends. Ronan finds himself suddenly gaining two parents and two cousins (Iphis and Lily) in rapid succession.

He only picks up Magnus' last name though cause Alex has 100% disowned her mortal parents.

He has a seal flipper cause shapeshifting and apparently "Ronan" means seal. I just wanted to draw those two showcasing their shapeshifting a lil bit.

Might try to doodle the other next-gen kid thoughts I had at some point but idk when. anyways yeah.

One Piece Epic AU shit

SPOILERS FOR EPIC MUSICAL AND THE STORY I THINK?

So I made this like a list and some rambling

Sorry for misspelling, typed on my phone and I dont care that much for misspelling.

Apollo: Luffy, taking the part of apollo where he is the god of the sun and light, music and dancing, and healing in to account. His punches could count as archery in a sense 🤔

Athena: okay, hear me out- Corazon.

He is shown to be smart in combat, it would make sense for him to be able to plan as well with his history of growing up with a marine admiral and then being with his brother’s crew. He is a hard-ass and sweet, he cares but also doesnt want kids to die doing stupid shit.

Though with the whole, Athena telling Odysseus to leave no mercy and to kill, that is a little out of character but I can picture it being a situation where it was what he was taught by the marines.

Odysseus: Law

Okay, this is not only because I wanted Athena as Corazon but because he just fits in my mind. He wants to be strong and meets Corazon. Wins his challenge and tricks him. He learns under him as he grows up and then goes to war, where he is forced to act due to a different god’s will.

He sails home with his crew and friends after they won the war, tries to show mercy as he tries to save the lives of those around him but it fails and he slips into the mind that he has to be the monster to keep his crew alive.

Now I have no idea who Penelope will be since idk who the hell he would marry and have a child with.

Polities will be Penguin since I hc he is more softer while Eurylochos will be Sachi since I hc he is the more tough one in a sense. With one gone they cant function as well.

I kind of want to make Poseidon, Doflamingo just for drama but he doesnt fit him as well. I mean, he is the god of the SEA, doffy cant be touched by water. The two of them care for their family in a twisted way but I dont think its actually that similar.

Posiden in the musical talks about how Odysseus shoulve killed his son instead of leaving him alive, basically saying that if he hadnt kept him alive then none of this wouldve happened since he wouldve never been told by his hurt son who injuried him.

While Doffy would find out who hurt his family, they were hurt and he will find out.

Thats about the extent of my rambling goes.

IDK why but I headcanon that Demi-gods look better than the Normal Human/Mortal

Or that When people (Mortal or Demi-God) first Meet Percy They do double takes and are Shook by his appearance and how attractive he is which is why people think he is a god or looks like one

I think demigods, in general, just have more unique features to them. (Unique hair or eyes since their morphology reflects a part of their godly DNA as well)

After all it's not said enough how much half godly DNA affects them really.

But we know it gives them enhanced physical abilities, so it's only natural that their appearance is better than most mortals.

Demigods certainly have a more alluring presence and unique facial features (eyes, hair .etc) due to their half godly nature.

Though really, I think it's more of a case of who the godly parent is more so than demigod children of all gods.

I mean, children of Ares have rather rugged and fierce features that aren't conventionally attractive .

Children of Aphrodite have strangely ethereal sense to their beauty, which might not always come from their appearance, but due to their attitude or voice or other features.

Children of Athena have only their unique grey eyes and so on.

Percy, however, is something else. He resembles Poseidon extremely closely as has been stated by literally everyone at this point and that no other demigod resembles their godly parent as much as Percy resembles Poseidon. It's another one of Amazing Percy things.

Another theory might be the stronger the demigod, the closer their appearance to that of a God. And we know Percy's the strongest, so it goes without saying that all big three children, especially Percy, look more exceptional or godly than others .

But I fully believe in the fact that demigods have such a unique presence that when mortals meet them they are struck by something a bit otherworldly that they can't exactly put a finger on (not necessarily their appearance) which makes humans a bit uneasy in presence of demigods.

The reason this theory works is because over the span of two series we see demigods go among mortals many times but their's not so much as a strong reaction to their appearance as it is to their presence so this is my best theory so far.

So let's headcanon that demigods have such a commanding presence or divine allure to them it makes people do double takes and makes them uneasy ( which may not always have something to do with their appearance but that can be a factor too)

TLT prophecy said "you shall be betrayed by one who calls you a friend," not "whom YOU call a friend," and I feel like that distinction is very important. (I also always kinda thought that "fail to save what matters most in the end" referred to Luke and not Sally.)

I honestly think luke tried to get percy on his side from the beginning, he did want percy to “be his friend” if you will. I doubt luke counted on percy having such a strong loyalty to what he assumed was olympus and poseidon (though tbh if you ask me, percy’s efforts are always to chb and his friends, not so much the higher powers)

originally, luke kills demigods only when he thinks they’re a threat to his objectives, not so much for the sake of it.. in this case, percy would (and does) tell people what happened, destroying that bit of time advantage luke could’ve had otherwise

as for what mattered more in the end.. idk, I do think to percy, it was sally. the first three books have that formula: chb sends off a quest to save “the greater good” (the golden fleece, rescuing artemis) and percy joins to save a person he cares about (grover, annabeth). if you want to be what we call “rebuscado”, then luke being the thing that mattered most vs sally being the not-quite thing that matters most could be a sort of parallel to luke being the friend that betrays percy vs ares being the not-quite friend who betrays percy

then again, maybe I’m rebuscada in general bc the prophecy could’ve just meant luke called percy a friend but was a lying bitch, that’s also an option 🤔🤔

Idk why but I think that just shows how dangerous the Ares kids are. Like the Athena kids are always hyped and everything for the strategic warfare, but cmon there HAD to be a reason why everyone was so worried bout the Ares kids joining the Battle of Manhatten. Like it had to be more than they were kids of the War god. (Hello the Spartans worshipped Ares and were one of the greatest warriors in history, they were just given a bad rep due to the Athenians writing down history and the myths)

ZEUS

he's her father, and more importantly, her king.

i think Athena is fairly loyal to Zeus, and she respects him, BUT, she doesn't agree with everything he does.

Athena's first and most important goal in life is to serve JUSTICE, and sometimes she perceives that Zeus isn't just. that's when she tends to participate in Hera's rebellions.

but chiefly, she respects him a lot, and upholds/enforces his word.

in terms of father-daughter relationships, Zeus embarrasses Athena a lot.. she doesn't laugh at his dad jokes, just rolls her eyes.. the prank's on her though because any reaction is a good reaction to Zeus, and he gets a kick out of embarrassing any of his children, Athena included.

Athena tries not to act like she's Zeus' favourite, but she knows that Zeus is definitely the most lenient with her on account of her being his firstborn, and so, sometimes she does use this to her advantage (it's the strategic thing to do!).

honestly? i don't think they have any particularly special relationships.. i don't see them interacting very much. they're civil/cordial with each other, but that's the extent.

HESTIA

Athena's mother will always only be Metis. and there's no other "living" god she would ever call "mother"... but i do like the idea that when Athena emerged, Hestia was the one who guided her around the place.

Hestia is the one who taught her about Olympus' history, about the social dynamics, about what to say and what not to say. Athena is a pretty rigid girl; she might say anything that came to her mind, but Hestia helps teach her to be a little more emotional.. a little more courteous.

she fills in the role that Metis would have served to a minor degree, and therefore, Athena always holds Hestia in high esteem.

POSEIDON

she doesn't hate Poseidon, but she does find him irritating.

Athena and Poseidon are always at odds with each other, and unintentionally, they always seem to have the opposite opinion.. i like the idea of Zeus sitting on his throne with Athena on the right side and Poseidon on the left, and both are trying to tell him different things.

they glare at each other a lot from one side of the hall to the other.

HADES

a similar deal like with Demeter.. i don't see Hades and Athena talking too much. i think they both just hold each other up with mutual respect, but there's nothing special.

PERSEPHONE

i'm not sure what the actual timeline is, but i like the idea that Persephone is already married to Hades by the time Athena emerges from Zeus' skull...

so even though Athena is actually older than Persephone, because Persephone is a Queen and ranks slightly higher than Athena, i like the idea of Persephone acting a little bit like an older sister to Athena.

they probably don't talk too much, but Persephone is very lovely and civil to literally every single person ever, so they would most likely be friends.. or at least friendly acquaintances.

ARTEMIS

as the only other young, chaste goddess around Olympus, i think Athena and Artemis have a natural friendship.

Artemis is excited when Athena is "born" because a) there's another goddess beside her, and b) Athena is likeminded with Artemis.. not just in their decision to remain chaste, but their "unemotionalness" (idk what the word is), and their desire to live their own lives on their own terms.

APOLLO

prior to Athena's birth, i think Apollo would assume the position of "eldest child", even though he's not. Artemis doesn't really want anything to do in Olympus, so she's usually off in the wilderness, which kinda just leaves Apollo there to deal with Hermes, Ares, and later Dionysus; Olympus' favourite troublemakers.

then when Athena arrives, she brings with her a new sense of authority and control that rivals Apollo, so i can see him getting a bit sidelined when Athena first arrives-- the boys listen to Athena immediately, but will throw a bit of a fuss when Apollo tells them the exact same thing she does.

over time of course, Athena and Apollo build a good rapport with each other. they don't really fight too much, and they both sort of pick on each other the way friends tease each other.

all in all; they're good to each other.

HERMES

Hermes isn't a child, but compared to all the other gods, he definitely gets treated like one because he's so mischievous.

Athena 100% fits the "elder sister" category with Hermes, and he does pretty much anything she tells him to.

they get along very well (who doesn't get along with Hermes??), and i can imagine Hermes expressing any doubts he has to Athena first and foremostly. they have a lot of trust between each other.

ARES

Ares and Athena have always been at odds with each other due to Zeus assigning Ares' domain to Athena.

their rivalry is mostly charged by Ares who believes it to be his, but Athena doesn't really perceive Ares as much competition so she shuts him down a lot.

that being said, i like the idea that sometimes Athena and Ares are quite in sync with each other... they have a similar tastes and ideas.

most importantly, i like the idea that Ares and Athena train together a lot-- they're the only ones who can really keep up with each other.

HEPHAESTUS

i'm aware of the dark side of Hephaestus and Athena's relationship, but i've erased it from my personal hc's because it doesn't really contribute anything to either gods' characters.

i actually like the idea of Athena and Hephaestus having a really good, friendly relationship.

in the beginning, i do agree that Hephaestus is in love with Athena- and being Zeus' son, he's arrogant and full of himself like his father, and can't imagine Athena ever refusing to marry him... until she does. repeatedly.

i have a hc that Athena, sick of Hephaestus' propositions, makes a bet with him-- she'll marry him willingly, without complaint, IF he can win against her in a duel. BUT, if Hephaestus loses, then he has to promise he'll never pursue Athena again but will support her decision to remain chaste and even defend it. and Hephaestus, already strong and pretty toned from all the blacksmithing he does, is like "sure, easy".

naturally, Athena wins.. she's a war goddess. and so from then on, Hephaestus is forced to give up his dream girl... and with time, his little crush dissolves and Athena and Hephaestus actually become very close.

he makes her all the latest weapons and tech, and she is one of the few gods who actually come down occasionally to spend time in the forge.

when Hephaestus has his troubles with Aphrodite and he intends to humiliate her and Ares by stringing them up and putting them on display, i like the idea that Athena, worried about Hephaestus' anger and obsession, attempts to convince him to settle things normally, with his words, because she knows he'll regret it later.. of course, she's unsuccessful, but she at least tries.

also, Hephaestus and Athena are sort of equal with each other. Hephaestus, Apollo, and Athena share a special bond in which they kinda all can tell each other the truth about how a situation is without the other party getting jealous or irritated...

for example, i like the idea of Hephaestus calling Athena out on her pettiness for cursing Arachne and Medusa when she attempts to call Hephaestus out on his pettiness for wanting to humiliate Ares and Aphrodite. no other god could speak to Athena like that and live to tell the tale. Apollo could have pulled this off as well, i believe.

DIONYSUS

honestly? again, nothing special. the way Athena is with Hermes is the way she is with Dionysus also.

APHRODITE

they're CIVIL to each other, but mostly, they don't really get along too much.

things started out bad when Aphrodite cheated on Hephaestus (due to Athena and Hephaestus being close).. so i think Athena never really had that high of an opinion of Aphrodite.

but things become even worse after the whole Trojan war stunt when Athena loses out to Aphrodite in a beauty competition.

all in all, Aphrodite's probably irritates Athena the most in the world. it doesn't help that Aphrodite is tight with Poseidon, whom Athena also doesn't get along with too much.

What do you think about Ares in Perc Jackson? They say that he doesn't love his children when in the myths, along with Poseidon, Aphrodite, Apollo and Hermes, they are the ones who take care of them the most (they adore their babies).For example, Ares in the fight with Typhon was the last god to leave, he made sure that no one was missing and he never hurt a woman (in fact he is considered the protector of women) but no, people think that Athena is the good one.

Ares in riordanverse was definitely villainized (idk if that’s a word, english isn’t my first language srry😭) all of his good qualities from the mythology were basically gone, but i feel like for the books it was kind of needed, the storyline needed someone to blame and ares was just there, iykwim. also from the myths i’ve heard, ares was definitely one of my favorite gods, in the books, not so much.

though about athena, she also was one of the gods who were shaped as a villain in the books, but i wouldn’t say she was any better than that in the actual mythology, she was shown exactly as herself in pjo, while ares was far worse, i don’t think there are a lot of people who think athena was a “good” god, especially by the way she treated annabeth and way more than that, i just think people like her aesthetic and the fact that she held more power than some male gods.

thoughts on the PJO finale and the show in general (spoiler warning for episode 8)

Ares fight was pretty good but could’ve been a bit longer IMO. I like how Percy actually talked back to him and the action felt semi-decent for once

the Luke flashbacks are a good addition since there wasn't a lot of time spent showing he and Percy getting close in the beginning

I really enjoyed Luke’s betrayal scene, though the stakes definitely weren't as high (I know it's bc of Luke trying to recruit instead of kill, which I like, but it felt more anti-climatic compared to the betrayal buildup)

having Gabe open the box himself really took away from the moment, though I guess it Kind of makes sense since they didn't make him as big of a jerk as he was in the book

general thoughts

they didn't use Annabeth NEARLY enough -> she's supposed to be a bit of a know-it-all but instead they had Percy just know way more than he did in the book (felt a bit OOC)

they didn't let the actors put any personality into their roles (people keep saying the irl trio matches the characters more than when they're acting)

idk why they kept flip-flopping between 30 min and 40 min episodes but that was wack

overall, it was Not the faithful adaptation Rick promised but instead his attempt to rewrite the original series according to his current whims (I'm a writer, I get it, but it's not great for the fans who were banking on a faithful adaptation)

I can't see myself being very interested in the next season unless they make some big changes to their approach

So many of y'all had so many good ideas (and since a lot of these i came up with without any real reasoning) here's my updated version that i think fits A LOT better

#1 Zeus Cabin: Jimmy, Joel Jimmy: He's a Zeus kid, but everyone somehow forgets about it. Joel: He's competitive and strong. Also, because Jimmy is his half brother through godly parent, i get to make a fun bit about him dating Lizzie. And one of his origins in Afterlife SMP was a thunderborn

#2 Hera Cabin: Scott, Impulse, Ren Scott: Scott's whole thing is loyalty. Hera is the goddess of marriage and is insanely loyal to Zeus. However, I feel like Hera should get at least one affair. So now Scott can use peacocks as weapons. Impulse: According to @dawnfire7 Impulse is known for loyalty, which i did not know. He's also known to hold grudges. Perfect Hera kid. Ren: He's apparently known for loyalty (and i didn't really like his Nike placement anyway)

#3 Poseidon Cabin: XB XB: Something about water temple guardians

#4 Demeter Cabin: Sausage, Shelby, Bdubs, Stress Sausage: This man built Sanctuary in a jungle and has flowers in his hair. He sells wood. There is no other place to put him. Shelby: Mushroom gnome, spooky mangrove witch, powerful storm witch, i need not continue. Bdubs: Moss man. Stress: SHE HAS FLOWERS

#5 Ares Cabin: Martyn, False Martyn: His planet is Mars, which is the roman version of Ares. He ended Limited Life in such a violent way, i can't help it. He was also red for the majority of Secret Life. False: I just feel like False should get to kill people more often.

#6 Athena Cabin: Grian, Pix, Owen, Xisuma Grian: This sums it up pretty well

Pix: Smart man. Archeologist and definitely a nerd. I wanna see him skipping out on training just so he can read history books. Owen: He likes to explore and discover new things in Pirates. In Rats, he's a tinkerer. In New Life, he's an explorer who wants to study hybrids. In Empires, he's a Llama who's curious about how humans work. Just a very curious character overall. Xisuma: Admin. I'm not elaborating.

#7 Apollo Cabin: Oli, Lyarrah Oli: MUSIC. MAN. Lyarrah: She writes the captions for the hermitcraft recap.

#8 Artemis Cabin: Pearl, Gem Pearl: Y'know, Artemis could've just like... had a kid, even though she took that oath. It wouldn't even have to be with a guy. Gods can change to whatever gender they want. Anyway, Pearl gets to be an Artemis kid because her symbolism is moon, she loves dogs, and will commit murder and hunt at night. Gem: Someone really wanted these girls to be sisters, and I think Gem and pearl should get to hunt at night and be fierce together. Oh, and she's got the whole deer aesthetic.

#9 Hephaestus Cabin: Doc, Mumbo, Tango, Zedaph, Fwhip, Iskall Doc: Redstone Mumbo: Redstone Tango: Redstone Zedaph: Redstone Fwhip: Redstone AND has a red scarf (don't ask me how that's relevant) Iskall: Redstone

#10 Aphrodite Cabin: Keralis, Skizz, Bigb Keralis: Okay, I don't know why, but Keralis gives me the vibes of a very charming person. His voice is nice to listen to, so imagine how useful it'd be if I gave him charm speak. Skizz: Person in the tags said he was really charming and you can't help but love him. I agree. He's here now. Bigb: Smooth talker. Someone (i think it was Scott) said in one of their videos "It's hard to kill him while he's talking". Charmspeak. Ma man, go do chaos.

#11 Hermes Cabin: Scar, Etho, Joe Scar: Trader Scar, scammer extraordinar. Etho: All i must say is Shady-E's. I get "jack-of-all-trades, master of none, often better than master of one" vibes from him. He's funny, he's mischievous, it just works. Joe: Comedy man. Excellent delivery. And, yet again, i look at this man and go "That right there is a multi-talented man with a habit for mischief."

#12 Dionysus Cabin: Joey, Beef, Cub Joey: *points at his season one empires theme* i need not say more Beef: Idk, food. I don't really have a reason. I don't know too much about Beef. Cub: Someone said Cub was really laid back, i liked this idea, he's here now. C'mon, go make ur empire.
