bummer that i got laid off last week but absolute W for me working on getting my health insurance ironed out, dedicating time to reading two new books for the thesis, scheduling regular meetings w my committee members, being able to go to the university library to focus on this stupid project, following up on job applications i had started sending out mid-december anyway, exercising more regularly again, participating in activities closer to my human values (im volunteering at this food bank every thursday until i get a regular job again, calling my representatives' offices directly in addition to my regular emails, etc), SEEING THE SUN ONCE IN A WHILE???????????????????, and taking steps toward medical transition

there’s an agronomy professor at my work who can take a common crop seed, let it soak in chemicals that dye living parts of the seed shades of red, and then can cut it open and tell you WHY it’s rotting instead of germinating AND can give an approximation of what stage of the growing/harvesting process might have gone wrong to kill it and honestly I’m just struck by how much of an incredibly powerful niche skillset this is. just incredibly valuable in any context, not just in dystopian monoculture corn reality where well-bred/treated/engineered crop seeds are incredibly expensive commodities to be bought and sold but also like, for most of human history? like is this not something kings and emperors and civilizations through human history would put you on courts and councils for. person who can tell you why the crops aren’t growing. remarkable

Well. Now we know.

To my knowledge, the only Bluey dogs who wear clothes are the ones in uniforms. TECHNICALLY Machete's outfit could count, but I left it out because it's not typical of a main character. He must be naked 😔

Todays the day. I need to get a job, even if that jobs not in the gaming industry. So I’m heading to the library to print up a resume and apply at a little local chain of mattress stores.

The guy instantly liked me when I went in to do a secret shop for a competing store and offered to hire me on the spot so I figure if I can chat with him he’ll still like me enough to consider me.

HoO is so funny to me when you actually think about the ages of all the characters. Octavian is 18. Percy and Annabeth are 16, almost 17. Reyna is presumably 16. Frank just turned 16, Jason’s about to turn 16. Leo and Piper are like 15. Hazel’s like 14 and a half, and Nico is 13.

The Death Sibs are both the youngest and oldest on the Argo II. Octavian is a college freshman getting into petty drama with a bunch of high schoolers. He gets told to shut up at one point by a random 8th grader. Everyone is scared of the 8th grader. We Sent A 13 Year Old To Superhell and he came back weirder, Just Like Middle School. TLH was just three high school sophomores being sent to do a task and it going Exactly Like You’d Expect. what i don’t understand is.. and i mean no malice in this ask i’m just gen curious.. you do commissions.. a lot of them.. where does that money go?? you live in texas which is a very cheap state.. i’m sure with your commission money you could find a place.. even finding some like minded queer ppl on facebook to be roomies.. it’s not an impossible thought (again no malice in this ask. but)

i save all my comm money, I have a lot of savings! But i dont make much per month in a way that wld sustain me if I left. I think it'd be dumb to leave with no long term plan in this fashion... I’m so frustrated this morning. I’m trying to do all my name change stuff, I got up early and got cute to get a new license, then went to the bank to change it there.

While there I saw a list of name change stuff and realized my cars registration needs to be changed to the new name but they didn’t ask at the DMV. So now I’ll need to go back and deal with another wait and another fee.
