realized a second ago that bardock's name sneakily fits into the son family theme and i'm going to need some time to process that.
to elaborate:
goku (悟空) and his sons gohan (悟飯) and goten (悟天) all have the same first character (悟, read as go).
bardock, rather obviously, is named after the vegetable burdock. more specifically, after the greater burdock, or arctium lappa, which is very common in japan. his name, バーダック (bādakku) is just the japanese transliteration of the english word.
what's the japanese word? 牛蒡. gobou.
he was one of them all along.
#dbz#bardock#nerdout#japanese#language#losing sleep over this one#making a kv fankid with this name to doubleblow my own mind#how did it take this long for me to realize this#....damn raditz really was the black sheep of the family huh#didn't get the looks the name the voice actor the plot relevance....#me: haha what's a vegetable that starts with go in japanese? oh burdock that's– wait.#i need to go to bed

Hi! I am trying to translate some of my oc’s names in clanmew but am running into trouble with how region-specific they are. I was wondering what you thought of these?
Agavebloom: Luparkikmwaro -- translates directly to “blue-spike-is-blooming” since there isn’t a good word to translate agave into. The closest members to the agave family I could translate to would be either lily or bluebell, which would be Urchamwaro (lily-of-the-valley-is-blooming) or Hebsimwaro (bluebell-is-blooming). I feel like the additional flowers take away the meaning of his name though, since it’s supposed to come from the fact that agaves take forever to bloom especially to a cat, therefore a rarity, and his mentor had never had a surviving apprentice before.
Guanopelt: Hafefylborrl -- translates to bird/bat pelt, since there’s no easy way to translate guano lol. But yes he’s literally named after bat poop, his clan really likes unconventional/gross names.
Chollasting: Also really difficult! I finally settled on Kikluarapokal, spine-jumping-stinging-nettle, since there doesn’t seem to be any cacti translations, and she’s named after jumping cholla cacti and how much it hurts when they attach to you.
If there’s any better suggestions for these names please let me hear them!
Hmm...
Agave is definitely a hard one, since I can't think of any plants that base Clanmew-speaking cats would even liken it to. It looks like a burdock or a teasel growing like a bush. I would recommend coming up with a word in your Clan's dialect to describe it, that's quite unique.
But here's some new words that you can play around with to make a word for yourself;
Greater Burdock/Lappa (Arctium lappa) = Kegdio A type of "thistle" in Clanmew with a very small flower and a whole LOT of spikes.
Teasel (Dipsacus fullonum) = Oorra Probably the closest we'll get to a "cactus," because, cacti are a New World family! If you went to a desert in Africa or Eurasia, you would not find a cactus, except for some cool not-a-cactus-but-trying-to-be types down towards Madagascar. Teasels are considered a type of thistle in Clanmew, and used in some finishing stages of textile processing as a brush. It's a fleshy, green, spiky plant with a round "ring" of a flower. This word is Parkmew in origin, and is related to the word for the King's "crown" in reference to its distinctive flower ring.
Fruited/Fruiting/Will Fruit = Pakawooan/Pakawooa/Pakawoo The act of a plant bearing fruit. Because most Clan cats are NOT ThunderClan (we say, pointedly, at thunderclan), this does not refer only to edible fruits. This equally refers to apple trees and OAK trees, dropping acorns. This is VERY important when you take into account that Clan cats are carnivores, and fruiting trees mean more prey.
First Fruiting/Promotion = Ka'paka The verbs for fruiting ONLY applies to a plant after the ka'paka-- its very first crop. It is the mark of maturity for a fruiting plant. It has a double use for promotion through ranks as well
On Guano... the first thing my mind goes to is Sslop, which is the term for wet, sticky mud in Clanmew. When used in reference to body parts, it suddenly means "mucus" or "body fluid," hence Runningnose's name (Sslopchoop) being a difficult translation.
You could combine Sslop and the word for white, Osk, to make Sslosk. I don't know too much about guano, but I've heard it can be a fuel, though I'm unsure of how true it is.
So, you can play around with this word if you'd like;
Peat = Mai The vital material buried under the turf of a moorland, made from layers of buried plant matter. Highly flammable!
There's also words for bats in the Lexicon, if you'd like to check there!
And, lastly, Cholla. Like I mentioned, we won't be finding any cacti here. The closest will be teasel. Burr (kido) is also in the Lexi, but there's one more interesting word that could have been likened to cacti in a new environment;
Sundew (Drosera rotundifolia) = Kigu Comes from an intense contraction of Swarming Bug-Eating (Kbkb Guburoo), the only purely carnivorous plant that Clan cats see on a regular basis. A fleshy green with bright red, sticky hairs that rise off it, it's hard to miss and endlessly fascinates the cats. A plant that hunts! What a wonderful, respectable creature! I can imagine Clan cats dropped off in the middle of a western hemisphere desert might apply this sort of reverence to surrounding, hardy cacti, especially if the cacti can be used to help them survive.

Embracing Nature's Bounty: Herbal Remedies for Eczema
In a world saturated with synthetic remedies, the allure of natural solutions is more compelling than ever. Eczema, a chronic inflammatory skin condition affecting millions worldwide, often calls for holistic approaches that minimize side effects while addressing the root causes. Amidst this quest for gentler yet effective treatments, herbal remedies have emerged as promising alternatives. Let's embark on a journey through nature's pharmacy to explore the realm of natural herb remedy for eczema.
Understanding Eczema
Before delving into herbal solutions, it's crucial to grasp the nature of eczema. Characterized by red, inflamed, and itchy skin, eczema manifests in various forms, including atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis. While genetic predispositions and environmental triggers play significant roles, the immune system's dysfunction and impaired skin barrier function are central to its pathology.

Herbal Allies in Eczema Management
Herbs boast a rich history in traditional medicine, offering multifaceted benefits for skin health. From soothing inflammation to promoting tissue repair, these botanical wonders can complement conventional therapies or stand alone as holistic remedies. Here are some notable herbs renowned for their efficacy in eczema management:
Calendula (Calendula officinalis): Renowned for its anti-inflammatory and wound-healing properties, calendula is a cherished herb in herbal medicine. Its soothing effects make it a popular choice for alleviating eczema symptoms, including itching and redness. Calendula-infused creams or ointments can be applied topically to affected areas for relief.
Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla): Chamomile's gentle yet potent anti-inflammatory and anti-itch properties render it a valuable ally in eczema management. Whether used in the form of tea for internal consumption or as a topical application, chamomile can help calm irritated skin and promote healing.
Licorice (Glycyrrhiza glabra): Known for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, licorice root extract holds promise in eczema treatment. Its active compound, glycyrrhizin, exhibits corticosteroid-like effects, making it effective in reducing itching and inflammation associated with eczema.
Aloe Vera (Aloe barbadensis): Aloe vera's cooling and moisturizing properties make it a popular choice for soothing eczema flare-ups. Its gel, derived from the succulent leaves, can hydrate dry skin, reduce inflammation, and accelerate wound healing, offering much-needed relief to eczema sufferers.
Burdock (Arctium lappa): Burdock root, revered for its detoxifying and anti-inflammatory properties, is increasingly recognized for its potential in managing eczema. Whether consumed internally as a tea or applied topically as a poultice, burdock can help purify the blood, alleviate inflammation, and promote clearer skin.
Neem (Azadirachta indica): Neem, often referred to as the "village pharmacy" in Ayurvedic medicine, possesses potent antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. Its oil or extract can be applied topically to eczema-affected areas to relieve itching, reduce inflammation, and prevent secondary infections.
Evening Primrose Oil (Oenothera biennis): Rich in gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), evening primrose oil is prized for its anti-inflammatory and moisturizing effects on the skin. When taken orally or applied topically, it can help improve skin barrier function, reduce inflammation, and alleviate eczema symptoms.
Incorporating Herbal Remedies into Your Eczema Care Routine
While herbal remedies offer promising benefits, it's essential to approach their use with caution and informed guidance. Here are some tips for incorporating herbal remedies into your eczema care routine:
Consult a healthcare professional: Before experimenting with herbal remedies, consult a qualified healthcare provider, especially if you're pregnant, nursing, or have underlying health conditions.
Patch test: Perform a patch test before using any herbal remedy to check for allergic reactions or sensitivities.
Choose quality products: Opt for reputable brands and sources when purchasing herbal remedies to ensure purity and potency.
Monitor effects: Keep track of how your skin responds to herbal remedies and adjust usage accordingly. Discontinue use if adverse reactions occur.
Practice holistic care: In addition to herbal remedies, adopt a holistic approach to eczema management, including proper skincare, stress management, dietary modifications, and lifestyle adjustments.
Conclusion
In the pursuit of eczema relief, the bountiful offerings of nature beckon with promising herbal remedies. From calendula's soothing embrace to neem's purifying touch, these botanical treasures offer holistic support for managing eczema symptoms and promoting skin health. By embracing the wisdom of herbal medicine alongside conventional therapies, eczema sufferers can embark on a journey toward greater comfort, vitality, and well-being.

洋種[Yōshu] : Western type

[Gobō] : Great burdock(Arctium lappa)
Pokeweeds in Early Autumn
I think the most vivid part of this plant is neither the flower nor the berry, but the peduncle. These peduncles illuminated by the afternoon sunlight were impressive, and I saw them for a while.
It grows large, the branches and stems also turn purplish-red, therefore it is poisonous-looking. And indeed, the whole of the plant is poisonous. The berry juice is difficult to remove from skin and clothing if it adheres.

Which weed killer works on Burdock?
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/76dc10bac38b3bcc7465901274e6b5f5/9ec1f665153af6b1-b1/s540x810/84ac81837c987cebbc9569dcb5a82fe636bcb15e.jpg)
The Uninvited Guest: Uncovering the Truth About Burdock
Did you know that burdock, a common weed found in many backyards, is responsible for causing over $100 million in losses to the agricultural industry each year in the United States alone? This staggering statistic highlights the significant impact that this seemingly harmless plant can have on our economy and environment.
Burdock, scientifically known as Arctium lappa, is a biennial weed that belongs to the Asteraceae family. It is native to Europe and Asia but has been naturalized in many parts of the world, including North America. This pesky weed can grow up to 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide, with large, coarse leaves and purple flowers that bloom in the summer.
Despite its unassuming appearance, burdock is a formidable foe for farmers and gardeners alike. Its deep taproot can extend up to 3 feet into the soil, making it difficult to eradicate. Moreover, burdock can produce up to 15,000 seeds per plant, which can remain viable in the soil for up to 5 years. This means that even if you manage to remove the plant, its seeds can continue to germinate and spread, making it a persistent problem.
The Trouble with Burdock
So, why is burdock such a nuisance? For one, its deep taproot can compete with crops for water and nutrients, reducing yields and affecting plant growth. Additionally, burdock's seeds can contaminate crops, making them unsuitable for consumption. In fact, the seeds can even cause physical harm to humans and animals if ingested, as they can cause intestinal blockages and other health problems.
Growth Control and Eradication
So, how do you control the growth of burdock and prevent it from taking over your garden or field? One effective method is to use a herbicide like Triad Select 3-Way Herbicide. This powerful tool can help eliminate burdock and other weeds, giving your crops the space and resources they need to thrive.
-> Get **Triad Select 3-Way Herbicide** here.
In addition to using herbicides, there are several cultural and mechanical methods that can help control burdock growth. These include:
Improving soil health through proper fertilization and irrigation
Using mulch to suppress seed germination
Hand-pulling or digging up burdock plants before they go to seed
Using cover crops to outcompete burdock for resources
Conclusion
Burdock may seem like a harmless weed, but its impact on our environment and economy cannot be ignored. By understanding the nature of this pesky plant and taking steps to control its growth, we can protect our crops and prevent significant losses. Whether you're a farmer, gardener, or simply a homeowner, it's essential to take burdock seriously and take action to prevent its spread.

Factores externos:
•Mucha humedad y sudor abundante.

« Assetate, kaïsite, a poué migi, vitia d’aigua. »
(Traduction : « Assieds-toi, tais-toi et mange, voilà de l’eau. »)

Read the full article

In today's fast-paced and toxin-laden world, our bodies often struggle to keep up with the constant assaults on our health. From unhealthy diets to environmental pollutants, our systems can become overloaded with toxins, leading to a range of health issues. Adopting a holistic approach to detoxification can help us restore balance and vitality. In this article, we will explore the power of detox herbs in facilitating toxin release, supporting natural purification, and promoting optimal colon function. Section 1: Understanding Toxins and the Detoxification Process Toxins come in various forms, including chemicals, heavy metals, and metabolic waste products. They can accumulate in our bodies and interfere with vital functions, leading to fatigue, impaired digestion, skin problems, and a weakened immune system. Detoxification is the natural process by which our bodies eliminate toxins, primarily through the liver, kidneys, skin, and colon. However, due to the overwhelming toxic burden we face today, supporting our bodies with detox herbs becomes crucial. Section 2: Detox Herbs for Toxin Release 1. Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum): Widely recognized for its liver-supporting properties, milk thistle contains silymarin, a potent antioxidant that aids in the detoxification process. It promotes the production of liver enzymes, which are essential for breaking down toxins and clearing them from the body. 2. Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinale): This humble weed boasts powerful detoxifying properties. Dandelion root stimulates bile production, supporting the liver's ability to eliminate toxins. Additionally, it acts as a gentle diuretic, aiding in kidney function and promoting the release of toxins through urine. Section 3: Natural Purification with Detox Herbs 1. Nettle Leaf (Urtica dioica): Nettle leaf is a nutrient-dense herb that supports the body's detoxification process by promoting kidney function and assisting with the elimination of waste through urine. It is also rich in vitamins and minerals, making it an excellent addition to a detox regimen. 2. Burdock Root (Arctium lappa): Known for its blood-purifying properties, burdock root helps remove toxins by enhancing liver function and promoting sweating. It supports the body's natural elimination channels, improving skin health and overall well-being. Section 4: Promoting Optimal Colon Function with Detox Herbs 1. Slippery Elm Bark (Ulmus rubra): This herb contains high amounts of mucilage, a gel-like substance that soothes and nourishes the digestive tract. Slippery elm bark helps maintain bowel regularity and supports the elimination of waste, making it beneficial for overall colon health. 2. Psyllium Husk (Plantago ovata): Psyllium husk is a soluble fiber that absorbs water, bulking up the stool and facilitating regular bowel movements. It acts as a gentle colon cleanser, promoting detoxification by aiding in the elimination of waste and toxins. Incorporating detox herbs into your wellness routine can be a game-changer for your overall health. These natural powerhouses assist in toxin release, support natural purification processes, and promote optimal colon function. By harnessing the power of detox herbs like milk thistle, dandelion root, nettle leaf, burdock root, slippery elm bark, and psyllium husk, you can take proactive steps toward enhancing your well-being and achieving optimal vitality. Pokeweed or Inkberry. It is native to North America and was introduced in the Meiji period(1868-1912) and is feral throughout the country today. It is so named because its root resembles that of a burdock and is long.
