Karelian words - Meals
suurus, suuruspala - "small breakfast" something small like oat kiisseli (pudding) or čupukka or other kind of small simple bit, plus coffee or tea, right when waking up
huondesvero - breakfast after few hours of work. Porridges, bread, pies, oven omelette, kiisseli, fish are all popular.
välikerta, välivero - kind of snack or "coffee break" around midday, tea or coffee and something small, often sweet, to eat.
lounat - lunch. Fish, broth soups, bread, mushroom salad etc
suiliset - sweet buns, berries, pies etc small and sweet, hour or two after lunch.
ehtälline, iltaine - dinner. Oven baked root vegetables, bread, thicker soups, pancakes etc
illaispalaine - light snack just before bed.
Obviously there was (and is) variation, especially depending on wealth of the house, but culturally speaking Karelians often like to eat smaller amounts fairly often. In modern days Karelians of course eat similar or same things as cultures around us, but often the traditional influence can still be seen in many things.
Traditionally, vegetables, bread, grains, mushrooms and fish made up most of the diet. Meat was eaten more commonly in holy days, and milk products were and are popular during summer ("white foods during white nights). Of course, many Karelians also follow Eastern Orthodox lent and fasting traditions.
Like my friend once said: let's eat ourselves out of assimilation.

Okay! Fuck it! Have a massive dump of every single flag for the webcomic thingy I'm working on. First is the Air-Force Flag for Kariela
This is the main flag for the Nation Of Kareila! I have like three of these but this is the best looking one.
Here is the flag for the German Puppet state! The symbol ended up way more sci-fi then I expected! But eh. It looks nice!
Heres The Kareilan Naval Flag! This one is like my second favoruite! I love how it hangs in the ocean of blue! Love this one!
Heres the not very Secret Police Police flag! This one is pretty nice! I love the symbol I made for it!
Oh yeah! Heres the plain Kareilan Symbol for fun!
Heres the Karielan Marine Flag I made while experminting with shapes!
Heres the flag for the UFC! I've already posted this one! I just wanted to post it again!
And last but not least! The free nation of Ireland! This one is a really neat design! I hope you've enjoyed all of these flags made by me in my spare time! Don't mind the mispellings. I'm just very bad at typing!

Bear can wound you so you need to recover long time, but moose kick can easily kill you.
In old times in many areas, especially in Viena, a young man couldn't get married until he had hunted his first moose, proving he could provide to the family during harsh winters even if the crops failed.

I think one of the worst things about assimilation is that my own family, even my younger brothers are embarrassed of me when I speak Karelian publicly.
They have been told it's useless old people language, no one speaks it anymore, it's peasant language.
I have 18 cousins, we all understand Karelian because of our grandparents, but I am only one using it regularly and publicly.
