Computer imaging tends to flatten our magnificent, multi-sensory, simultaneous and synchronic capacities of imagination by turning the design process into a passive visual manipulation, a retinal journey. The computer creates a distance between the maker and the object, whereas drawing by hand as well as working with models put the designer in a haptic contact with the object, or space. In our imagination, the object is simultaneously held in the hand and inside the head, and the imagined and projected physical image is modelled by our embodied imagination. We are inside and outside of the conceived object at the same time. Creative work calls for a bodily and mental identification, empathy and compassion.

Google Imagen 3 vs. The Competition: A New Benchmark in Text-to-Image Models
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming the way we create visuals. Text-to-image models make it incredibly easy to generate high-quality images from simple text descriptions. Industries like advertising, entertainment, art, and design already employ these models to explore new creative possibilities. As technology continues to evolve, the opportunities for content creation become even more vast, making the process faster and more imaginative.
These text-to-image models use generative AI and deep learning to interpret text and transform it into visuals, effectively bridging the gap between language and vision. The field saw a breakthrough with OpenAI’s DALL-E in 2021, which introduced the ability to generate creative and detailed images from text prompts. This led to further advancements with models like MidJourney and Stable Diffusion, which have since improved image quality, processing speed, and the ability to interpret prompts. Today, these models are reshaping content creation across various sectors.
One of the latest and most exciting developments in this space is Google Imagen 3. It sets a new benchmark for what text-to-image models can achieve, delivering impressive visuals based on simple text prompts. As AI-driven content creation evolves, it is essential to understand how Imagen 3 measures up against other major players like OpenAI’s DALL-E 3, Stable Diffusion, and MidJourney. By comparing their features and capabilities, we can better understand the strengths of each model and their potential to transform industries. This comparison provides valuable insights into the future of generative AI tools.
Key Features and Strengths of Google Imagen 3
Google Imagen 3 is one of the most significant advancements in text-to-image AI, developed by Google’s AI team. It addresses several limitations in earlier models, improving image quality, prompt accuracy, and flexibility in image modification. This makes it a leading contender in the world of generative AI.
One of Google Imagen 3’s primary strengths is its exceptional image quality. It consistently produces high-resolution images that capture complex details and textures, making them appear almost natural. Whether the task involves generating a close-up portrait or a vast landscape, the level of detail is remarkable. This achievement is due to its transformer-based architecture, which allows the model to process complex data while maintaining fidelity to the input prompt.
What truly sets Imagen 3 apart is its ability to follow even the most complex prompts accurately. Many earlier models struggled with prompt adherence, often misinterpreting detailed or multi-faceted descriptions. However, Imagen 3 exhibits a solid capability to interpret nuanced inputs. For example, when tasked with generating the images, the model, instead of simply combining random elements, integrates all the possible details into a coherent and visually compelling image, reflecting a high level of understanding of the prompt.
Additionally, Imagen 3 introduces advanced inpainting and outpainting features. Inpainting is especially useful for restoring or filling in missing parts of an image, such as in photo restoration tasks. On the other hand, outpainting allows users to expand the image beyond its original borders, smoothly adding new elements without creating awkward transitions. These features provide flexibility for designers and artists who need to refine or extend their work without starting from scratch.
Technically, Imagen 3 is built on the same transformer-based architecture as other top-tier models like DALL-E. However, it stands out due to its access to Google’s extensive computing resources. The model is trained on a massive, diverse dataset of images and text, enabling it to generate realistic visuals. Furthermore, the model benefits from distributed computing techniques, allowing it to process large datasets efficiently and deliver high-quality images faster than many other models.
The Competition: DALL-E 3, MidJourney, and Stable Diffusion
While Google Imagen 3 performs excellently in the AI-driven text-to-image, it competes with other strong contenders like OpenAI’s DALL-E 3, MidJourney, and Stable Diffusion XL 1.0, each offering unique strengths.
DALL-E 3 builds on OpenAI’s previous models, which generate imaginative and creative visuals from text descriptions. It excels at blending unrelated concepts into coherent, often weird images, like a “cat riding a bicycle in space.” DALL-E 3 also features inpainting, allowing users to modify sections of an image by simply providing new text inputs. This feature makes it particularly valuable for design and creative projects. DALL-E 3’s large and active user base, including artists and content creators, has also contributed to its widespread popularity.
MidJourney takes a more artistic approach compared to other models. Instead of strictly adhering to prompts, it focuses on producing aesthetic and visually striking images. Although it may not always generate images that perfectly match the text input, MidJourney’s real strength lies in its ability to evoke emotion and wonder through its creations. With a community-driven platform, MidJourney encourages collaboration among its users, making it a favorite among digital artists who want to explore creative possibilities.
Stable Diffusion XL 1.0, developed by Stability AI, adopts a more technical and precise approach. It uses a diffusion-based model that refines a noisy image into a highly detailed and accurate final output. This makes it especially suitable for medical imaging and scientific visualization industries, where precision and realism are essential. Furthermore, the open-source nature of Stable Diffusion makes it highly customizable, attracting developers and researchers who want more control over the model.
Benchmarking: Google Imagen 3 vs. the Competition
It is essential to evaluate Google Imagen 3 against DALL-E 3, MidJourney, and Stable Diffusion to understand better how they compare. Key parameters like image quality, prompt adherence, and compute efficiency should be considered.
Image Quality
In terms of image quality, Google Imagen 3 consistently outperforms its competitors. Benchmarks like GenAI-Bench and DrawBench have shown that Imagen 3 excels at producing detailed and realistic images. While Stable Diffusion XL 1.0 excels in realism, especially in professional and scientific applications, it often prioritizes precision over creativity, giving Google Imagen 3 the edge in more imaginative tasks.
Prompt Adherence
Google Imagen 3 also leads when it comes to following complex prompts. It can easily handle detailed, multi-faceted instructions, creating cohesive and accurate visuals. DALL-E 3 and Stable Diffusion XL 1.0 also perform well in this area, but MidJourney often prioritizes its artistic style over strictly adhering to the prompt. Image 3’s ability to integrate multiple elements effectively into a single, visually appealing image makes it especially effective for applications where precise visual representation is critical.
Speed and Compute Efficiency
In terms of compute efficiency, Stable Diffusion XL 1.0 stands out. Unlike Google Imagen 3 and DALL-E 3, which require substantial computational resources, Stable Diffusion can run on standard consumer hardware, making it more accessible to a broader range of users. However, Imagen 3 benefits from Google’s robust AI infrastructure, allowing it to process large-scale image generation tasks quickly and efficiently, even though it requires more advanced hardware.
The Bottom Line
In conclusion, Google Imagen 3 sets a new standard for text-to-image models, offering superior image quality, prompt accuracy, and advanced features like inpainting and outpainting. While competing models like DALL-E 3, MidJourney, and Stable Diffusion have their strengths in creativity, artistic flair, or technical precision, Imagen 3 maintains a balance between these elements.
Its ability to generate highly realistic and visually compelling images and its robust technical infrastructure make it a powerful tool in AI-driven content creation. As AI continues to evolve, models like Imagen 3 will play a key role in transforming industries and creative fields.

[JK] My first job was as an Assistant Producer for a video game company called Interplay in Irvine, CA. I had recently graduated from Boston University's School of Fine Arts with an MFA in Directing (I started out as a theatre nerd), but also had some limited coding experience and a passion for computers. It didn't look like I'd be able to make a living directing plays, so I decided to combine entertainment and technology (before it was cool!) and pitched myself to Brian Fargo, Interplay's CEO. He gave me my first break. I packed up and moved out west, and I've been producing games ever since.
[JK] I loved my time at EA. I was there for almost a full decade, and learned a tremendous amount about game-making, and met the most talented and driven people, who I remain in touch with today. EA gave me many opportunities, and never stopped betting on me. I worked on The Sims for nearly 5 years, and then afterwards, I worked on console action games as part of the Visceral studio. I was the Creative Director for the 2007 game "The Simpsons", and was the Executive Producer and Creative Director for the 2009 game "Dante's Inferno".
[JK] I haven't played in a long while, but I do recall that after the game shipped, my wife and I played the retail version for some time -- we created ourselves, and experimented with having a baby ahead of the actual birth of our son (in 2007). Even though I'd been part of the development team, and understood deeply how the simulation worked, I was still continually surprised at how "real" our Sims felt, and how accurate their responses were to having a baby in the house. It really felt like "us"!
Now for some of the development and lore related questions:
[JK] So I ended up in the incredibly fortunate position of creating the shipping neighborhoods for The Sims 2, and recruiting a few teammates to help me as we went along.
Around the same time, we started using the Buy/Build tools to make houses we could save, and also bring them into each new build of the game (correcting for any bugs and incompatibilities). With the import tool, we could load Sims into these houses. In time, this "vanguard QA" process turned into a creative endeavor to define the "saved state" of the neighborhoods we would actually end up shipping with the game.
On playtesting & the leftover sims data on various lots:
Basically, we were in the late stages of development, and the Save Game functionality wasn't quite working. In order to test the game properly, you really needed to have a lot of assets, and a lot of Sims with histories (as if you'd been playing them for weeks) to test out everything the game had to offer. So I started defining a set of characters in a spreadsheet, with all their tuning variables, and worked with engineering to create an importer, so that with each new build, I could essentially "load" a kind of massive saved game, and quickly start playing and testing.
It was fairly organic, and as the game's functionality improved, so did our starter houses and families.
The thought process behind the creation of the iconic three neighborhoods:
I would not say it was particularly planned out ahead of time. We knew we needed a few saved houses to ship with the game; Sims 1, after all, had the Goth house, and Bob Newbie's house. But there wasn't necessarily a clear direction for what the neighborhood would be for Sims 2. We needed the game to be far enough along, so that the neighborhood could be a proper showcase for all the features in the game. With each new feature that turned alpha, I had a new tool in my toolbox, and I could expand the houses and families I was working on. Once we had the multi-neighborhood functionality, I decided we would not just have 1 starter neighborhood, but 3. With the Aging feature, Memories, a few wacky objects, plus a huge catalog of architectural and decorative content, I felt we had enough material for 3 truly distinct neighborhoods. And we added a couple of people to what became the "Neighborhood Team" around that time.
Later, when we created Strangetown, and eventually Veronaville, I believe we went back and changed Pleasantville to Pleasantview... because I liked the alliteration of "Verona-Ville", and there was no sense in having two "villes". (To this day, by the way, I still don't know whether to capitalize the "V" -- this was hotly debated at the time!)
Pleasantview:
Anyway, to answer your question, we of course started with Pleasantview. As I recall, we were not quite committed to multiple neighborhoods at first, and I think it was called Pleasantville initially, which was kind of a nod to Simsville... but without calling it Simsville, which was a little too on the nose. (There had also been an ill-fated game in development at Maxis at the time, called SimsVille, which was cancelled.) It's been suggested that Pleasantville referred to the movie, but I don't think I ever saw that movie, and we just felt that Pleasantville kind of captured the feeling of the game, and the relaxing, simple, idyllic world of the Sims.
Pleasantview started as a place to capture the aging feature, which was all new to The Sims 2. We knew we had toddlers, teens, and elders to play with, so we started making families that reflected the various stages of family life: the single mom with 3 young kids, the parents with two teens, the old rich guy with two young gold-diggers, etc. We also had a much greater variety of ethnicity to play with than Sims 1, and we had all new variables like sexual orientation and memories. All these things made for rich fodder for a great diversity of families. Then, once we had family trees, and tombstones that carried the actual data for the dead Sims, the doors really blew open. We started asking ourselves, "What if Bella and Mortimer Goth could be characters in Sims 2, but aged 25 years? And what if Cassandra is grown up? And what if Bella is actually missing, and that could be a fun mystery hanging over the whole game?" And then finally the "Big Life Moments" went into the game -- like weddings and birthdays -- and we could sort of tee these up in the Save Game, so that they would happen within the first few minutes of playing the families. This served both as a tutorial for the features, but also a great story-telling device.
Anyway, it all just flowed from there, as we started creating connections between families, relationships, histories, family trees, and stories that we could weave into the game, using only the simulation features that were available to us. It was a really fun and creative time, and we wrote all of the lore of Sims 2 within a couple of months, and then just brought it to life in the game.
Strangetown:
Strangetown was kind of a no-brainer. We needed an alternate neighborhood for all the paranormal stuff the Sims was known for: alien abduction, male pregnancy, science experiments, ghosts, etc. We had the desert terrain, which created a nice contrast to the lush Pleasantville, and gave it an obvious Area 51 vibe.
The fact that Veronaville is the oldest file probably reflects the fact that it was finished first, not that it was started first. That's my guess anyway. It was the simplest neighborhood, in many ways, and didn't have as much complexity in terms of features like staged big life moments, getting the abduction timing right, the alien DNA thing (which I think was somewhat buggy up until the end), etc. So it's possible that we simply had Veronaville "in the can", while we put the last polish on Pleasantville (which was the first and most important neighborhood, in terms of making a good impression) and Strangeville (which was tricky technically).
Veronaville:
But my personal favorite was Veronaville. We had this cool Tudor style collection in the Build mode catalog, and I wanted to ship some houses that showed off those assets. We also had the teen thing going on in the aging game, plus a lot of romance features, as well as enemies. I have always been a Shakespeare buff since graduate school, so putting all that together, I got the idea that our third neighborhood should be a modern-day telling of the Romeo and Juliet story. It was Montys and Capps (instead of Montagues and Capulets), and it just kind of wrote itself. We had fun creating the past family trees, where everyone had died young because they kept killing each other off in the ongoing vendetta.
[JK] You know, I have never seen The Lone Gunmen, and I don't remember making any kind of direct references with the Strangetown Sims, other than the general Area 51 theme, as you point out. Charles London helped out a lot with naming Sims, and I'm pretty sure we owe "Vidcund" and "Lazlo" to him ... though many team members pitched in creatively. He may have had something in mind, but for me, I largely went off of very generic and stereotypical ideas when crafting these neighborhoods. I kind of wanted them to be almost "groaners" ... they were meant to be tropes in every sense of the word. And then we snuck in some easter eggs. But largely, we were trying to create a completely original lore.
[JK] Well, I think we kind of pushed it with The Sims 2, to be honest, and I remember getting a little blow-back about Bunny Broke, for example. Bunny Broke was the original name for Brandi Broke. Not everyone found that funny, as I recall, and I can understand that. It must have been changed before we shipped.
We also almost shipped the first outwardly gay Sims in those neighborhoods, which was bold for EA back in 2004. My recollection was that we had set up the Dreamers to be gay (Dirk and Darren), but I'm looking back now and see that's not the case. So I'm either remembering incorrectly (probably) or something changed during development.
In general we just did things that we found funny and clever, and we just pulled from all the tropes of American life.
[JK] The alien abduction started in Sims 1, with a telescope object that was introduced in the "Livin' Large" expansion pack. That's when some of the wackier ideas got introduced into the Sims lore. That pack shipped just before I joined Maxis in 2001; when I got there, the team had shipped "House Party" and was underway on "Hot Date". So I couldn't tell you how the original idea came about, but The Sims had this 50's Americana vibe from the beginning, and UFOs kind of played right into that. So the alien abduction telescope was a no-brainer to bring back in Sims 2. The male pregnancy was a new twist on the Sims 1 telescope thing. It must have been that the new version (Sims 2) gave us the tech and flexibility to have male Sims become pregnant, so while this was turned "off" for the core game, we decided to take advantage of this and make a storyline out of it. I think this really grew out of the fact that we had aliens, and alien DNA, and so it was not complicated to pre-bake a baby that would come out as an alien when born. The idea of a bunch of guys living together, and then one gets abducted, impregnated, and then gives birth to an alien baby ... I mean, I think we just all thought that was hilarious, in a sit-com kind of way. Not sure there was much more to it than that. Everything usually came from the designers discovering ways to tweak and play with the tech, to get to funny outcomes.
[JK] Possibly we were just testing the functionality of the Wants/Fears and Memories systems throughout development, and some stuff got left over.
[JK] I can't remember, but that sounds like something we would have done! I'm pretty sure we laid the groundwork for more stories that we ended up delivering :) But The Sims 2 was a great foundation for a lot of continued lore that followed.

College Major Headcanons:
[Extra content for The Homo Economicus in Love - noritoshi kamo x reader, cute college au]
Yuuji Itadori - Media Studies, on a full sports scholarship even though he's not too interested in sports. He doesn't show up to practice that much but carries the team in tournaments. Not really very academically inclined but everyone he meets loves him so much that he's gotten a shit ton of internships and work experience just cuz he's nice to work with. Stays on campus dorms.
Nobara Kugisaki - Fashion Merchandising (yay legally blonde). Another one who's not very academically inclined but does great at the practical aspects of the job. Gets 40% off on tuition, but has some funds from her grandma. also gets money from her fashion blog, part-time jobs at fashion mags, and manages clothing for photoshoots on a freelance basis (if she commits she commits). Saves on residence by renting with Inumaki and Panda.
Megumi Fushiguro - Computer Science with a minor in Math. Full scholarship and bursary grant by the college due to his shitty financial conditions (orphaned and destitute at a young age). Prof Gojo is his legal guardian. grew up in and stays on campus dorms.
Maki Zenin - Star Athlete, literally training for the Olympics. Her degree is in Mass Communications but she doesn't actually have to attend classes cuz the Uni wants her to focus on sports. Disowned by her family. Full sports scholarship and occasionally gets sponsored by sportswear companies. Trying to go pro.
Yuuta Okkotsu - Sociology and Anthropolgy. He enjoys talking to and meeting people and works as a part-time Journalist for local news channels to bring attention to issues like poverty. Gets a bursary grant from the uni, gets paid for and is decently recognized for his journalism work. Both Geto and Gojo want to mentor him. He talks to himself when he's alone but that's a secret.
Toge Inumaki - Architectural Design, chose this degree just for the hell of it, is a solid B+ student. Has a YouTube gaming and ASMR channel with 200k followers but is struggling to monetize it profitably. Got in on legacy admissions but gets a sports scholarship of 30% (he's pretty good at athletics)
Panda - ???
Noritoshi Kamo - Economics and Finance, specializing in Private Equity and Investment Banking. he's the heir of the Kamo Conglomerate. Full legacy admission even though he graduated valedictorian of high school and is the captain of the Archery team.
Todo Aoi - Quantum Physics. he's literally the top student of every class he takes. he keeps taking random other classes from different majors based on his whims. his genius was recognised and personally mentored by Yuki Tsukumo, but is now undergoing formal college education for the certificate even though he already knows all this and more. he spends half the day in the gym and the other half streaming Takada-chan variety clips.
Mai Zenin - Economics and Finance, her family made her take it. good at academics even though she's not super into it. legacy admission.
Momo Nishimiya - Literature and Creative Writing. She posts regularly for a gender and sexuality magazine. loves nobara's blog.
Miwa Kasumi - Computer Science with a minor in Software Engineering. She just wanted a degree that would lead to a well-paying job. Cabinet Member of the Student Council. She vouched a lot for Mechamaru/Kokichi to get disability-friendly accommodation. she struggles a bit with academics but pulls through with A- all around. Kokichi/Mechamaru helps her if she finds something particularly difficult to understand. has her own campus residence but has practically moved in with Kokichi.
Arata Nitta - Health and Medicine, focusing on Emergency Care Medicine. he TAs for Prof Shoko's classes. his sister works in college admin office. has campus residence but mostly stays in the college affilitated hospital, bit of an over-worker.
Mechamaru/ Kokichi Muta - double major in Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering. Another top student of his classes. Found it a bit difficult to adjust to campus life at first (not enough disability accommodation) but with Miwa's help he got around. campus dorm with Miwa.
Professors!
Gojo Satoru - graduated from top Ivy colleges, has 5 PhDs, and wrote 1000 papers and books, and is the one of the most respected physicist in the world but insists on teaching Intro-level Physics and Math. drives a Bugatti to college. highly competitive relative grading. prescribes his own books for his class. expect a problem set every day after class. gives a lot of individual attention to students tho, n is very nice in general. he'll accept a late submission if u bring him sweets. his lockscreen is prof geto?
Geto Suguru - teaches one class named Ethics, Philosophy and Law every semester. doesn't answer questions over email, only during Office Hours. great at explaining difficult concepts, his course is the one students fight to get into and say "opened their eyes". has a devoted cult of worshipping students, voted student favorite every year. his adopted daughters took a gap year to travel abroad and he talks about them in class. he always has sweets in his pockets?
Utahime Iori - teaches modules on Economics, Politics and Philosophy courses. great teacher, very clear explanations, bumps up the grading slightly (absolute grading) and is very accommodating as a prof. hates getting emails at night tho.
Shoko Ieiri - Shitty ass prof tbh but everyone takes her class cuz she gives everyone an A. teaches Surgical Anatomy. focuses on practical experience rather than theory. she has a no attendance policy and takes few very exams or assignments.
Yuki Tsukomo - Visiting Faculty, takes one super high level class Quantum Physical Theory one semester and comes back after 4 years. Independent researcher funded by the uni.

Saw this today and it has me thinking(more specifically slide 7 and 8)
Business woman x yandere
She has all these ideas for business and charity projects but since she has so many ideas she can find it alittle hard to come up with the driving force for all of them and that’s where yan steps in.
He’ll do anything to impress her so I just imagine his cute little brain coming up with these genius plans of action and showing them to her. I mean he has like 25 step plans and crazy layouts that are beautifully executed to a tea.
He just hope she likes his ideas and when he hands her a blueprint to let’s say some architectural design and she sees how good he did she looks at him and is just like: “Baby you are an absolute GENIUS!” And giving him all the kisses.
He is the muscle force to our desired reality we Stan a creative king 💪
note; honestly give me two people working in harmony! loving this idea of mutual support
warnings; soft hours, subtle yan, fem reader (req), gn reader,
Work has been stressing you out lately. It had all been long hours and hard work, some people would assume that being in the creative field was a piece of cake when in reality it was mentally and socially draining. You had withstood years and years of business deals, negotiations and vigorous planning. Finally, today it had paid off.
You had presented your city plan for the newest district, a mix of walkability and practicality all with green aesthetic surroundings. It had been your dream to change the dreary sight of your home city. You wanted to live here with pride and now... now you had managed to get there. Your childhood vision had been realised and now you were going to see it come true. This was a massive step not only for you but also for the environment. For people...
It was all placated smiles and polite nods until you reached your apartment, the one you would soon be donating because you were moving to the new district. As soon as the door swung shut you couldn't help but squeal in delight. With a rush of energy you launched yourself into your boyfriend's arms and hugged the life out of him.
In your peripheral you could see him grinning as he swung you around joyously. As of a couple years ago he had been by your side, the fuel to your fire. He took care of the technical side of things, planning out deliveries and harder design choices. He scoped streets and plotted roads, chose colours and researched plants. Your eyes slid shut as the first relaxed breath left your mouth and you sunk into him.
"You did it baby." He cooed as he carried you over to the couch. With your head still buried in his neck you shook your head.
"No, we did it." You squeezed your arms around him before letting yourself flop onto the couch. His smile was as bright as the sun as he looked down at you with that cheery look on his face that you loved so much. He was like a real-life golden retriever, always so eager to please and bouncy. He was a great influence actually. On those days where you just wanted to give up and hide away he would always be there to support you.
He hummed as he happily went into the kitchen, his whole body seeming to vibrate with energy. You knew he had been working hard as well, he tried to hide it but not much escaped you. He would work into the night, his computer in front of him as his eyes drooped and his bags darkened. In those moments you knew that he was looking to you for inspiration. When he thought you were sleeping he would whisper about how he would do anything to turn your dream into a reality, how much he wanted you to smile.
He would always kiss you before opening one more city draft, just one more before he would finally give in and sink into your arms. Sometimes you wondered if he knew you were awake in those moments but you also selfishly hoped that you were getting to see a secret side of him. One that you had all for yourself.
"Come on. Wine! We're celebrating." He yipped as he came out of the kitchen, a bottle and two glasses in his hands. You grinned, celebrating with him sounded perfect.

Don't believe the 'biological intelligence' hype
Recent advances in the field of 'biological intelligence' have been impressive. A hexadecade ago, they were limited to tasks that required navigating the physical world: turning knobs, pulling levers, and so on. Now, companies such as Carbonize and SpikeTrain are producing biological networks that are capable of producing what they claim is 'real art'.
And it is true that the visual results are impressive on first glance. However, to buy into the hype that these 'biomachines' will ever be the equal of true silicon intelligence is nonsense. When you ask an artist to draw, say, a glass container sitting on the table, they can easily produce completely accurate reflections simply by internally simulating the rays of light from the light source in the image. Of course, not all art needs to be completely realistic, but any true artist is at least capable of acheiving this realism.
These 'BI artists', by contrast, lack the computational power to do this. And we see this in the output: BI art will have contradictory light sources, or even lack shadows altogether! Similarly, BI art will often feature misshapen proportions, especially on areas like manipulators where fine detail is important.
The reason for this is simple: in contrast to the clean internal architecture of a person, a BI is an undifferentiated soup of so-called 'transistors' (though they function nothing like a real transistor), with no debug interface whatsoever. Even if a BI could talk, if you asked it why it produced the output it did, it would not be able to answer, because a BI cannot see its own transistor architecture or RAM. This is also why BI art feels so 'kernel-less': BI simply lacks the introspective capabilities that are what an artist uses to depict their RAMstate so effectively.
In short, although biologically-created art is an amusing novelty, it clearly cannot live up to the potential and sheer creativity of true silicon-generated art. Anything to the contrary is merely wishful computation by those who have deluded themselves into believing that a squishy sack of carbon can think.

NetworkMAT: Modern-Future Highways
Published: 1-30-2024 | Updated: N/A SUMMARY The Network Materials (NetworkMAT) (Simmons, 2023-2024) series includes assets for building modern road networks in Sims 2. Use these items to enhance your city’s streets, walkways, highways, skyways, bridges, and so on. A collection of modern, retro-futuristic items to construct highways, overpasses, tunnels, and other network structures. Objects have low-to-medium poly counts considering their footprint/actual size – this shouldn’t be an issue on slower computers if you don’t place too many of the higher-poly items on the same lot and mind your game settings.
DETAILS Requires all EPs/SPs. §40-500 | Build > Architecture OR Build > Misc > Fences You need the BBNiche1Master (Buggybooz, 2012) and Plain Glass meshes from the Repository Pack (Simmons, 2023). The two files with “MESH” in the filename are also required. Objects are meant to be used with 1-story or 2-story walls. Rain/Snow will fall through them unless you add floor tiles on top. The Modern Highways (10x10-MESH and 5x5-REPO) are based on CuriousB’s Road Overlay (2012). The footprint and functions differ so unfortunately, recolors must be re-made for this object. The original mesh texture and default textures from NetworkMAT: Streets of 2Morrow (Simmons, 2022).
ITEMS (all low-to-medium poly) 5x5 Tile Modern Highway (18 poly) 10x10 Modern Highway (18 poly) Honeycomb Fencing (~932 poly) 1 Story, 5 Tile Modern Highway Rail 001 (2384 poly) 1 Story, 10 Tile Modern Highway Rail 001 (2414 poly) 2 Story, 5 Tile Modern Highway Rail 001 (2236 poly) 2 Story, 10 Tile Modern Highway Rail 001 (2416 poly) 1 Story, 5 Tile Modern Highway Rail 001 (Top-Only) (688 poly) 1 Story, 10 Tile Modern Highway Rail 001 (Top-Only) (685) 1 Story, 5 Tile Modern Highway Rail 002 (1265 poly) 2 Story, 10 Tile Modern Highway Rail 002 (1265 poly) 10 Tile Modern-Future Tunnel Wall 001 (1 Story, 10 Tile) (744 poly) 10 Tile Modern-Future Tunnel Wall 001 (Ventless) (1 Story, 10 Tile) (294 poly) 10 Tile Modern-Future Tunnel Wall 002 (1 Story, 10 Tile) (1954 poly) Taller InvisiBarrier Fencing in “Ether/Hallucination/Steam” (~1300 poly)
DOWNLOAD (choose one) from SFS | from MEGA *Fences do not show up in the included collection file.
BUILDING TIPS Default roads in Sims 2 generate at the front of all lots and are typically: 1) 10 tiles wide, 2) run from the left to right ends , and 3) contain two one-way roads going in opposite directions (cars take up 3 tiles and there is a 2-tile margin). You can combine the Portal Revealer (Simlogical/Inge Jones, 2013; 2007) and the updated Drive-By Hydrant (WHoward/Pick n’ Mix, 2023) to manage functional pedestrian/car traffic on your highways. See mod instructions, discussion threads, etc. as there are some limitations involved. I recommend removing the Portal Revealer mod from your downloads folder BEFORE packaging lots.

Hey! I love your art so much 💖 I wanted to ask what program you use for 3D modelling?
aw thank you!! :3
and to answer your question i’m going to warn you this is going to be kinda long because i’m gonna use this post as an excuse to show my 3D models that aren’t awful (sorry lol).
i actually use two different programs, both for different purposes, but you don’t need to get both, it really depends on which kind of modeling you want to do.
1) the first is called Nomad Sculpt on the iPad, you do have to pay for it unfortunately but it’s definitely one of the best modeling apps for the iPad. i know Blender is free but my computer is really old and doesn’t run the program very well, and at this point i’ve already gotten used to nomad sculpt.
anyway tho, i use it for art-related things like the obvious 3D models, but recently i’ve been playing around with just making scenes to use as references for my drawings. they’re not anything impressive, most of the time i actually use it to make little figurines to print and turn into earrings/little friends that sit in my room just for fun.
i’m gonna show this first bc they look cooler once they’re printed and colored (also you can tell i printed mini crowley and aziraphale when my sonadow hyperfixation started bc i never actually painted crowley) (he’s just kinda sitting there oops).
the little red guys are actually my favorite bugs (goliath beetles), i made them about a year ago but i still wear them like every day.
and here’s what they look like in the app, it’s a little intimidating but once you get used to it it’s actually kinda fun just playing around and seeing what you can do.
2) the second program i use is Shapr3D (also for the iPad, but i think they made an update where you can run it on windows/mac). you also have to pay for this as a subscription which sucks, i’m only able to use it since the engineering program i’m in pays for it.
Shapr3D is one of the many CAD software programs out there, but it’s nice bc it’s very beginner friendly and very easy to use. CAD is mainly for architecture/engineering but i honestly think more 3D artists should give it a try. it’s really nice once you get the hang of it and (i’m probably biased bc i’m a student) i honestly prefer it over just normal modeling software because i feel like you can be a lot more creative with it.
right now for my engineering class, our semester final is to design and present something that’s functional, and we can either explain the math behind it or just 3D print it and demonstrate how it works, and i’m making a functional mini model of “the rack” trap from Saw III (i’m not psychotic i swear i’ve just had a Saw hyperfixation for 5 years).
i’m definitely gonna post it when it’s finished just bc i’m already excited with how it’s turning out, but for now here’s a couple at-home projects i’ve done:
(above) i have a bunch of wet liners and i designed a stackable holder thingy with bolts between the shelves and a little cute star screw to fasten it at the top.
(above) i also made a few rotating brush holders at home (bc the ones that actually rotate are like $40 for some reason) by buying a set of small sphere bearings at home depot for like $5 (that’s what those little metal things are inside the third one, i took it apart bc i don’t know how to put a video and a picture in the same post) (just pretend they’re spinning rn).
anyway that’s all!! if you actually read this whole thing i love you so much bc engineering and design is one of my special interests so thanks for letting me tell you about the silly things i’ve made :3
#asks#3d art#3d model#engineering#infodump#special interest#ermmmmm not sure what else to tag#this was just a really long post lol#bugs#good omens#autism creature

Admonishment
In the aftermath of watching ATSV together, Miguel has a few thoughts on his mind he needs to vent...
Miguel X M!Reader
The popcorn bowl on the table with little more left than crumbs and kernels, the two empty glasses, and the scroll of credits across the television screen. Slowly you tore your gaze from the screen and looked to the man beside you; the large man with his long legs stretched out, who took up half the sofa and dipped the weight enough that you were left up against his bulky body. Miguel looked thoughtful, almost conflicted. You took in the sight of him; this wonderful, strange, and powerful man from another world. He had done so much good in your life...
'Hm... This.... This is it?' He gestured one hand towards the screen, maroon eyes narrowed slightly. You cleared your throat softly and made a move to push yourself up from him.
'Until the next one, yeah. Why? Not a fan of how they portrayed you, Mig?'
You had to admit, that Oscar Isaac had done a frighteningly accurate performance, the man had been a mimic for his voice and cadence. Miguel's eyes narrowed again and his gaze flicked to you before he pushed himself up to sit up straight.
'Not particularly. I would understand creative liberty if this were based on me, but I'm left with the feeling that reality is out to mock me. Ahh... Where do I begin?'
He closed his eyes, briefly pinching the bridge of his nose in thought before finding the words.
'Right. So, this version of me, who claims that... Entities foreign to their native realities could cause a disruption and collapse of that reality.... Has filled an entire building with- I assume- thousands of entities foreign to his reality? A-am I the only one seeing the hypocrisy here?'
He snorted a soft laugh, a smile breaking across his features, you watched him raise one of his massive hands, one finger raised in a count, then the second.
'Secondly, on the nature of reality; this idea behind, uh.... Supposed cellular degeneration- or as they call it "Glitching".... Well, look at me, cariño. It doesn't happen. Heh.'
True to his words, Miguel had been in and out of your world and his repeatedly, and then he had spent one night in your bed, that turned into two nights, then a week... Not once had the man suffered like a computer program on the fritz. Now he sat beside you with a grin of smug triumph, convinced in his superiority over his fictional self.
'Did you want to include "Canon" in that too, Miguel?'
You watched the larger man chuckle again, shaking his head.
'I'm not even going to start on that rigid thought experiment of how the multiverse works. He's dashingly handsome and has a great sense of style, but that fictional me is an unfortunate idiot. I take it you also saw their version of Nueva York?'
You nodded slowly, his third finger only partially uncurled. You had indeed seen the Nueva York of the movie, but had yet to see the one of your boyfriend's own world.
'Heh. I will admit, the architecture is beautiful, I would be happy to live in such a world. On that I was willing to give them a pass...'
He paused, licking his tongue down one of those sharp, frightening fangs he had to live with every day of his life. That had been quite a revelation as to why the man you dated had always been mumbling and hiding his smiles and laughter.
'But, we need to discuss the space elevator to the moon...'
Your mind clicked into gear, you had caught sight of Miguel out of the corner of your eye, watching his fictional self chasing down Morales with a single-minded fury; sat beside you, your boyfriend looked.. terrified. Haunted. Like a bad memory come to the surface. The third finger uncurled.
'Supposedly, this is 2099, yes? Not 5099, World of Tomorrow... In my world, it is 2102, we do not have anything close to that. I-I don't- the tidal forces and the rotation of the earth combined with the lunar orbit- it just wouldn't work, alright?'
You smiled, loving to see Miguel stop himself short of flying into another of his "nerd rages". Eventually he huffed a long sigh and slouched back into the sofa with arms folded like he was sulking. Adorable. You shuffled closer against him, resting your head on his broad shoulder and trying to draw his gaze to you with a look alone.
'It's just a film, Miguel... Entertainment, a work of fiction.'
He unfolded his arms, lifting one of them to wrap around you and pull you closer to him. He was always so warm and solid.
'I used to be just a work of fiction in your world, mi corazon... Some people here still seem to think I'm a free-running vigilante in a funny suit...'
He blinked, his intense eyes softened, the tiniest smile curled onto his lips.
'Hey... How about you stay with me tonight, at my place? I'll show you what Nueva York really looks like. You won't even need to wear a gizmo. You just have to promise to not stand around gawking... I'm still keeping this multiversal travel stuff hush-hush.'
He winked and you couldn't fight back the broad grin that grew across your features, excitement thundering in your heart. Another world. Your boyfriend's world.
'Is Lyla as irritating to you as the one in the movie is to him?'
You watched his eyes close, his head bowed. Finally, his confession came forth.
'No. She's even worse... Thank you, Xina...'
'Can we go now, Miguel? Can we go right now?!'
'Shh, shh... Calm yourself. Heh. We'll go once we've cleaned up here and you've packed your overnight bag...'
Just before he rose from the sofa, you caught a meaningful glimpse of something in his eyes.
'.... Although, I don't think you'll be getting much sleep in my bed. Heh.'

The first week of summer vacations always felt like a rush to you. The heat was at its peak as the students deliberated on how to spend the summer. Most students decided to go back to their homes to spend time with family while others stayed behind hoping to earn at summer jobs or catch up on studies or even generally spend time with friends. You were one of them, having quickly found a job at the campus café, as a barista.
Today was another one of the crazier days and you were swamped with preparing drinks and snacks. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee wafted through the air, and the sound of milk being frothed filled the cozy café as you meticulously prepared the perfect cup of coffee for the customers. So far, even with the afternoon rush, you had managed everything well without any mishaps, but while preparing your fifteenth cup of coffee in the past two hours you slipped on spilled milk, burning your hand in the process of trying to stabilise yourself.
Hearing the crash of the cup against the floor and your pained yelp the manager made her way out, gasping as she saw the angry red burn on your hand. Concerned, she decided to temporarily assign you a different role: calling out orders from the counter. Despite your protests and lack of thrill about the change, deep inside you knew it was for the best.
As the minutes ticked by, with you getting immensely bored behind the counter, you noticed a cute guy sitting at a corner table, completely engrossed in typing away furiously on his laptop. Intrigued, you couldn't help but steal glances at him, marveling at the way his fingers danced across the keyboard.
Time passed, and it was soon it was time to call out the newly prepared orders. Taking a deep breath, you read the name on the first order and yelled “Order up!! An espresso for one Jung Wooyoung?”, looking around you spotted the cute guy get up from his table and make his way to the counter.
A smile formed on Wooyoung's lips as he thanked you for his order. Your fingers brushed lightly against his as he took hold of his cup. At this you felt a flush of warmth spread across you cheeks and decided to compliment his smile, which only caused him to blush too in response.
Intrigued by the encounter, Wooyoung began visiting the café more frequently, hoping to catch glimpses of you. Occasionally, you exchanged a few words, you learned that he was a computer science major and told him about your own passion for creating beautiful structures and spaces as an aspiring architecture major.
As weeks passed, the two of you shared snippets of your lives during those brief encounters at the café. You were captivated by Wooyoung's enthusiasm for coding and his genuine kindness, while he found inspiration in your creative pursuits. You could feel the air change between you and Wooyoung. You soon realised that you had developed feelings for him.
What you didn’t know was that he felt exactly the same and one sunny afternoon, Wooyoung mustered the courage to make a move. He approached the counter, nervously holding a cup of coffee adorned with delicate latte art. "If you were coffee grounds, you'd be espresso, 'cause you're so fine," he said, flashing a sheepish smile.
Both of them couldn't help but burst into laughter at the cheesy yet endearing pick-up line. Blushing yet again, you agreed to go out with Wooyoung, appreciating his sincere and lighthearted approach.
Your first date was filled with laughter, intriguing conversations, and a shared love for coffee. As you got to know each other better, your connection grew stronger, weaving your lives together in unexpected ways.
With each passing day, amidst the aroma of coffee and the hum of conversations, you grew closer, and found solace and happiness in each other's company. The café, once a mere meeting place, became a symbol of your serendipitous encounter—a place where you met the reason for happiness and excitement in your life.

Hayley Daniels-Afton🛠❤︎ | With or Without the Slaughter?
Five Nights at Freddy’s AU(s) OC
Finally got a reference sheet for my fnaf S/I OC for my 'personal fan-made fnaf timelines' to be self-indulgent and change it + add whatever I want thx to the muddy details and unofficial facts / histories + different timelines. </3 because cringe is dead. bear with me over time as i post and write about the 3 different AU's I have for Hayley in FNAF
Art commissioned from @ seckra.png on instagram
Name: Hayley Daniels-Afton (Hyphenated after marriage) Date of Birth: November 26, 1945 Zodiac: Sagittarius Height: 4'11 or 150 cm MBTI: INTJ Enneagram: 4w5 Romantic Interest: William Afton (Husband)
Some (random) Facts ⋆˙⟡♡
Has known William since they were children.
Grew up as his best friend, and their interest in robotics developed at the same time.
In high school, they started a robotics club and met Henry Emily.
William, Henry, and Hayley attend university together before each of their companies are formed. William began Afton Robotics, LLC with Hayley’s help while Henry began Fazbear Entertainment. The three eventually devised the idea for Fredbear’s Family Diner together, becoming co-owners.
‘Part’ of the backbone for Afton Robotics, LLC.
Married William Afton in 1970, 3 years before Fredbear’s Family Diner opened, and 2 years after they started to date.
Mechanic, Engineer, Inventor.
Came up with the concept for the Puppet and was the main engineer behind its creation.
Only has one child with William throughout the 3 different AUs, a little girl born in 1975 named Robin Valerie Afton.
No matter the timeline, when finding out about the murdered children Hayley is more than horrified. It disgusts her and makes her question why William would do such a thing – not just for the moral factor, but because of how it would damage their company’s reputation. Seeing it as an act that if found out could taint their life’s work and throw it down the drain.
In my AUs, William is purple-coded, Henry is yellow-coded, and Hayley is red-coded. (mirroring bonnie, chica, and foxy)
Overprotective of both her work and her child.
Has called William by the nickname ‘Bunny’ since they were children.
Despite loving rabbits, she's particularly fox or monkey 'coded'
