Btw re: what is oaks problem in those 4koma you reblogged, Green isn't sure whether he's holding nidoran male or female so he goes to check its genitals and oak bonks him on the head for it as though it's inappropriate. I'd call it a weak joke at best lol
GOD LOL i figured it was gonna be something cursed bc i still warn all the time that these old 4komas are sooo shitass sometimes despite being drawn in such cute art styles 😭

if your the person i think you are i remamber you saying you delete some of your old art on the occasion, which you have the right cause it's your blog but a lot of your old pieces i remember i just always wanna see again and it's gone and i can't look at it anymore :( which makes me sad, would you consider archiving your older art somewhere if you still have them somewhere?
i have a personal archive of all my art ive ever draw digitally, but public archives kinda freak me out and make me uncomfortable ngl!
If you want a specific art i wouldn't mind dming you them!

It’s been some time since the reboot of one of my favourite shows came out and I’ve seen and heard some contrasting opinions of it. With a rotten tomato rating of 64% it’s safe to say that this show has its fair share of fans… but also those who dislike it.
The majority of critics suggest that the quality of acting is poor and the storylines are absurd. The actors chosen would not be my first pick. Although I don’t know the behind-the-scenes of the production, I feel like the acting was lacklustre aside from the actors for Max Wolfe (Messy Max) and Audrey Hope. In my opinion, I feel like this was mostly the case with the main character: Julian Calloway. This was quite upsetting to me because I felt that the show had potential and maybe with better actors, the writing may have been brought to life better than it was.
The main fault that I believe the show has is the overly Gen Z and progressive take the show. Yes, inclusivity is great but the allure of escapism is lost with the whole realistic take of the reboot. Furthermore, realistically, the old-money legacy children were historically from white families. Depending on the writers’ and directors' original ideas, this is slightly unrealistic. The original gossip girl fascinated me with the old money aesthetic, the Upper East Side scandals and the not-so-classy sides of the 1%. With a new direction for the reboot, it’ll come out differently. This is completely subjective but for me, I feel like I prefer the legacy rich, scandalous and quiet side of gossip girl.
Is that what the previous watchers of the original wanted? Maybe. Maybe not. But it wasn’t what I was expecting or enjoyed.
However, It would be unfair to only break down the show without praising it a little. Albeit slightly cringe-worthy, the show is undeniably watchable, like a car crash, you cannot look away. The absolute shock and scandal of some of the episodes are captivating. The nuances of being an influencer are explored. Sometimes weakly but nonetheless it’s quite interesting.
Do I hate it? Not at all. Would I recommend it? For me, it’ll always remain as a background show to watch from time to time.
You know you love me.
xoxo, gossip girl.
