just going through old pictures &. i& found little me& ( in the middle ). i& almost never see that. i& dont even recognize who that is or remember who that little girl was. to clarify, this was before my& major trauma happened & started to develop a year later tho i& can imagine that since my& father was struggling with substance abuse in the home even when i& was so young i& just. simply don't remember much of it. & so i& just think. like. how could my& abusers do that to a little girl? a child? all she ever wanted was to be loved and accepted and held. to be loved by her grandfather.

When I was a kid, a formative part of my childhood experience was mobile gaming on my tablet, and I would constantly beg my parents for more and more free time with the device so I could play anything the restrictive parental controls would let me.

This means that there are a lot of obscure, indie mobile games, back from the ye olden days when mobile gaming was actually fun, that only exist in my distant memory.

One pair of games, that were taken off the app store that I miss greatly, are Egg!..

And it's predecessor, Egg Baby.

Both of these games are in the genre of virtual pet raising games, and absolute cream-of-the-crop examples.

They share the same mechanic of the player adopting a sentient egg creature, and caring for it until it's developed enough to hatch, releasing some kind of fantastical creature. What creature you get depends on two factors, what kind of egg you selected, and how you chose to raise it.

Neglecting your egg could potentially kill it, something that never happened under my watchful eye, but something I learned to be terrified of during my short stint as a mother.

I raised dozens of eggs before I eventually grew out of my tablet and graduated to a phone, but imagine my surprise when i went back to relive my lost childhood via the games, and found that both of them were deleted from the app store!

Looking into this further, a couple years ago I found out something fascinating.

The studio that developed both games, Nix Hydra, is these days more famous for developing...

It's one thing to discover, with someone who also didn't remember at the time, that he had essentially forgotten about you when you needed his help most. It's another to remember it

The early stages you spent still working with him, still sending him communications, still hoping he'd stop to connect long enough to notice your condition and do his job as a doctor and your friend

You don't know which hurts worse, that, or the later stages you spent weak and dying and alone, hoping against hope that he'd notice you were gone and come to help you through the last of it

The way his face falls in regret and pain when you finally tell him what those days were like is a closure you didn't know you needed

As much as it hurts both of you to address, the fact that Julian feels like you can forgive him while knowing the full extent of what he's done gives him an even stronger faith in your relationship

He's also excellently suited to helping you unpack it all - he's been through the same thing himself, having missing memories change how he lives, and then getting them all back at once. He gets it

So excited to learn all about your past self from you

If this ultimately makes you a happier, healthier person, they are both delighted for you and hugely relieved that it happened

One of his many fears after bringing you back was that he wouldn't be able to give you a life worth having. Your lack of memories definitely contributed to that, and seeing you recover is wonderful

Of course it's not all sunshine and rainbows. As soon as you've reached a point where you can talk about it, they're asking you for your forgiveness all over again and for your side of the story

He left you where he knew it was dangerous, and he failed to stay with you because he chose his fear over his love. He didn't even leave you a way to call for him when you needed him

At the same time, it's their unfailing presence with you now that helps you overcome the disjointedness of it all. They've grown and matured, but your current and old memories alike feature them

So when you're ready to reminisce, to start talking about your old antics and embarrassing mistakes and weird habits, the same best friend who saw it all then will remember it with you now

Seriously, everything. It's been so fulfilling for her to have someone to trust and allow into her heart and mind and space, and she's often regretted that you can't do the same to that capacity

She does struggle early on not to feel guilty when you mention things like Vesuvia's failing economy or the ravages of the Red Plague, but she's quick to keep the focus on you

Soaks up all the little details and anecdotes you share with her

You remember your childhood favorite food? She's having it served at tea, to see if it tastes the way you remember it

You mentioned a song you remember a parent or family member singing? She's boosting the local music scene with a big prize for whoever can find and learn to play/sing it to you

Really, really wants to visit all the places you have your core memories in. Taking you to Prakra gave her a closure and bond with you that she really wants you to enjoy as well

It goes without saying, but she has an open invitation to anyone you want to reconnect with to visit or stay at the Palace

He's happy ... for you. He knows how deeply formative memories and history are, and it's only right for you to have your roots back

He's also the closest to terrified and insecure he's been in a long time, and that's because if you remember a time before the end of the Plague, you remember the time when he was the Scourge

He doesn't care for secrets. He's never hidden who he was from you. He knows you saw his old self and that it hasn't changed how you love him. But it's different when it's your memories, not his

What if you visited the Coliseum without him knowing?

What if you took a seat and experienced the disappointment and revulsion of seeing your best friend's oldest friend, maybe even someone you were fairly close with as well, turn into a killer?

But if you could look at his memories and still commit to loving him, he can and will do the exact same for you

Gives you space when you need it and sticks by your side when you need it, always ready to lend an ear when you want to share

Happy to go on a trip with you if it'll let you reconnect with lost family and roots. You did the same for him, after all!

Oh she's not worried at all. She knows you two have got this

Whatever there is in your history that she may have an issue with, she knows you two can talk about it and she knows who you are now is not who you used to be. No serious concerns there

That aside, you can finally live with (roughly) the same amounts of memories she has! This is great! You should write them down!

Not the best at giving you space if you want to process alone, but so empathetic with the whole adjustment that it's almost impossible to feel misunderstood. She's got your back

Even with the tricky relational stuff. Her older brother and Asra, especially. She knows you knew them when things were bad, and she's ready to mediate any hard conversations you need to have

And she'll give you all the emotional support you need after

Almost scarily dedicated to helping you track down and reconnect with people from your past. (Given how she spent three years hunting down her brother, it's not hugely surprising ...)

So confident and settled in your relationship that it makes sorting through the memories easier. You're still each other's fresh start

He's happy for you! He really is! He promises! (all said with both hands in the air, a strained smile, and a bead of sweat rolling down the side of his face while the dogs look unimpressed)

Okay so maybe he's a little scared

He knows you've talked about it. Hell, you walked with him through the landscape of his memories and failings and somehow managed to hold love for him as he went

But if you can actually remember, now, what he did ... who he used to be ... what you suffered because of him both directly and indirectly, and yes, the horrific death you can remember now too

He knows he's changed and his faith in you is boundless but his faith in who he used to be is nonexistent, for good reason

Almost makes you lose your temper pestering you for how you really feel and tripping over his feet to prove himself after

Once you've told him that nothing about your relationship is under threat, he becomes an amazing partner to help you unpack

He gets it. What it's like to relive visceral memories, for the past to feel so disjointed. He gets it, and he's got you

The arcana as parents!

Portia Devorak:

She wouldn’t care whether you adopted or had biological children. 

If you had the child yourselves, she’d be really supportive and gentle with you but still try to keep you entertained during your pregnancy. If she got pregnant instead, she’d want to keep working and keep exploring - only really stopping when she’s physically unable to keep up with her tasks.

If you adopted a child, she’d want to adopt a baby, since she has an attitude of ‘ try everything at least once! ‘ and she’d want to try taking care of an infant, just to see if it was as magical as people say it is.

Portia wants to name her children something meaningful. She’d definitely try and convince you to let her name the child after Mazelinka if it was a girl, and Julian if it was a boy. 

She’s definitely the fun parent. She’s willing to try anything that her child suggests - even if she knows it’s stupid. She loves getting wild with her kids, and making sure their childhood is packed with fun, albeit chaotic, memories.

However, under this, she’s a deeply kind and caring mom. She really loves her child, and is behind them in anything they do undoubtedly. She really wants them to know that she’ll support them no matter what happens and why. She wants them to follow their dreams, and live their lives to the fullest.

You’re at a festival. Specifically – a music festival. Your youngest daughter, Mariam ( named loosely after Mazelinka ) is performing for the first time. Your wife, Portia, squeezes your hand excitedly as you watch your little girl go onto the stage with her piano. 

“ THERE’S MAMA’S SUPER STAR!” She shouts from the audience, before the show can even begin. Mariam notices this, and waves excitedly before she’s ushered over to the center of the stage.

“ oh, look! She’s doing so good, she gets her talent from you. Can you believe that’s our seven year old? I was eating dirt at her age!” Portia jokes, whispering.

“ mhm.” You whisper back, watching carefully.

“ I’m so proud! She’s absolutely amazing at this. I’m so glad that milady gave me the day off for this.” She says quietly to you. She wouldn’t ever want to ruin this moment - but she can’t contain herself. She’s just overjoyed at your daughter’s performance. 

Once the performance is finished, Portia claps longest and loudest out of everyone in the audience. She practically zips through the crowd to get her daughter, giving her a tight bear hug. 

“ You’re wonderful! You’ve got such a talent, honey. Mama’s so very proud of you, and ____ is too!”

Your little girl hugs her back. “ mommy, you’re hugging me a little too tight.” Mariam admits, beaming back at Portia. After a while, Portia lets go. 

“ We should do something to celebrate your awesome skills. How about we go out for a fancy dinner now?” Portia grins. 

“Okay!”, Mariam takes her hand, grinning back. You follow behind the two of them, wondering how you got so lucky.

Muriel the outsider:

I’m sorry, but he would only have biological children if they were an accident. He’s just too anxious to deal with the fears and possible dangers that happen with pregnancy. Plus, he also doesn’t want other children to ever go through what he went through living on the streets as an orphan.

If you do get pregnant by accident, that’s fine. He’d never leave you to deal with a child by yourself, He’ll be there for you and care for you to the best of his ability ( which isn’t a lot because he’s insanely nervous. )

But if things go to plan, and you adopt a child - he doesn’t give a single damn what age or background they are. For him, it’s about making sure that no child has to go through the loneliness that he suffered from.

Doesn’t mind what they’re named. You can take the reigns with that if you’d like, but if he has to make the decision he’ll ultimately name them after something in nature. 

Due to his dangerous childhood, he is a tad overprotective and over affectionate. It’s all good intentions though, he just doesn’t ever want to see his child unhappy or suffering. That’s why he tries to prevent them from getting into any situation that could potentially be dangerous to them. 

Even if Mars would have to crash into the earth for the situation to even possibly be dangerous. He’s just taking that extra precaution! 

“ No, Ivy, don’t touch that.” He says softly, watching his toddler try grab a rose. She doesn’t register this at all, and continues to try and rip the flower out of the soil. 

He walks over, and carefully picks her up. She’s tiny compared to him - he can hold her with one arm. She squirms around, babbling and trying to get back to the plant. 

“ I know, Ivy. But roses have thorns, and they might prick your fingers.” Muriel murmurs. You come up next to him, and kiss him on the cheek, carefully taking your daughter into your arms. 

“ Have you been causing trouble today, baby?” You ask, she simply babbles and grabs onto your shirt in response. 

You then look over to Muriel, he’s silently admiring the two of you. He loves you both so very much, and there couldn’t possibly be a more comforting sight than this to him. 

“ Hi, dear.” He whispers, “How’s your day been?” 

“Not too interesting. Working as the castle Magician has been awfully boring.. I’m glad to see you guys.” 

He nods, and brings you into a hug, kissing your forehead. You would hug him back - but you’re still carefully holding onto your daughter. She’s holding loosely onto your sleeve, staring up at you with big curious eyes.

“ Isn’t she lovely?” Muriel asks, he couldn’t have possibly found a more genuine happiness. He can’t even register your response, he’s just so in awe of how content he is with his life and how there are so many wonderful people in it. He truly wouldn’t trade what he has now for the world. 

Nadia Satrinava:

Would much rather adopt as well. She finds it invigorating to know that she’s providing a home for those who need it and living up to her goal of being a selfless leader and person. 

If you were to have biological children, she’ll spoil you during your pregnancy. She’ll spoil you as if there’s no tomorrow - getting you anything and everything you might need or want. If she’s the one who gets pregnant, she’ll have Portia take over some of her duties as countess while she works towards term. She doesn’t want to overwork herself and hurt her child, but she still has lingering guilt that she isn’t working.

If you are to adopt, she would rather adopt a slightly older child. One who could walk and talk already, merely because she’s afraid that her duties as countess would prevent her from teaching her child those immaculately. 

Would want her child to have an important name that displays their personality and suits them. She’d have to meet her child first before deciding on a name, and choose one accordingly.

Is a calm parent but also a voice of authority. She’s the one who gives your child a scolding if they step too far out of line, but it’s always level headed and reasonable. She’ll be mature and never make your child upset. 

What’s the one thing she wishes to instill in your child? She wants them to have a good education. She wants them to be educated, and have good self - advocacy skills. 

“ Noam, have you been studying?” Nadia asks him quietly, sat across from him at the table. You’re sitting left of your lover, and right of your son. She skims through important documents and he doodles on his notebook, smiling.

“ Yes, mama. I got a 90% on my math quiz today.” He says proudly, smiling.

She looks up, grinning back at him. You notice how he inherited her smile, and it makes you let out a soft chuckle. 

“ Wow! I’m so proud of you, Noam. You’re an excellent boy.” She gushes, putting down what she was working on. You nod, backing up her words 100%. “ You’ve never done as well as that before, good job!” 

He beams at the both of you, “ do you really think so?” He asks timidly.

“Of course.” Nadia says, “ you’re my precious boy, and I’m so proud of you.” She walks over, and kisses him on the top of the head. 

“ – I tried my best.” He said proudly. 

“ That’s all I ever ask of you, hunny.” She says, running her hand through his hair and messing with it. He laughs. You smile at the two of them.

Oh my goodness! You completely brought back a few memories. I was obsessed with wolves and werewolves when I was younger. I don’t know if you ever watched Wolfblood but I loved that show. I don’t know how it would hold up now but it was my everything as a kid.

But we’re not here to talk about my childhood obsessions. As for your assessment on the characters as werewolves, I mostly agree.

You said you think Asra and Portia would be small and fluffy. I think Portia would be small and fluffy. I think Asra would be just really fluffy with a lovely white coat. For Julian and Lucio, they’d obviously be loud and dramatic. If this was what dog they would be they’d both be huskies.

You also said that Nadia and Muriel would be brooding and melancholy. I think Muriel really only fits those descriptors. He’d be humongous and I also think he’d have such a thick coat you could almost call him fluffy. With Nadia, I’d use the words elegant and effective.

Nadia never really sulks, at least not in the way Muriel does. Also she would have the most regal coat. Overall, this was a fun thing to answer. Really got me thinking!

Also, Wolfblood baby! I imagine this would be the type of werewolf the main six would be. Although, they aren’t called werewolves in the show.

You told Arcturus that you're playing songs from Mid eartheim. He was thrilled and immediately promote you to play as an academy band.

Does the academy have a band? Never for thousands of years but Arcturus always find the way to make it happen.

He was a multi talented kid but burned out- He magically can play any kind of instruments so when he feels like doing something, he plays piano with you.

When you play a song that Spica taught you, he remembers his childhood. It was the sweetest memories. He really likes it and feel a bit more motivated.

"Can you play that song again...? Oh, you're still learning? It's alright, I'll teach you."

Even though, he's became a bit calmer, what I mean by calmer, he actually regain a bit of his sanity again.

He still tease you though and being complicated as usual.

He tries to kidnap you from classes so you can play a song for him. If he's in a really good mood, maybe he'll play the guitar with you too.

If someone ever tried to make tv show out of The Arcana I think the best solution would be playing with time line paradox thingy. Like Spiderverse or Everything Everywhere At Once style . Just my opinion because I can't choose it in the poll.

Ok I've been thinking about this a lot so thank you for giving me an excuse to speak on it lol.

Before we start, I have only read through Nadia, Asra, Julian, and half of Muriel's routes, but I still think that's enough to make a timeline.

I agree: Although there is still the same throughline in each of the routes, they all work as their own universe. For example, in Muriel's route, Lucio makes deals with the courtiers, gaining a physical (albeit goat-shaped) body that way. In Asra's route, you successfully take back your body from Lucio and the courtiers eat what remains of his spirit. In Nadia's ending, both you and Lucio regain your bodies, but Lucio is banished from the lands.

I guess one of the first questions we should ask ourselves, as theoretical showrunners, is what ending do we want to give Lucio? Is he alive? dead? Does he end the show still swimming in the in-between, with no way of returning to the physical world?

Secondly, we need to establish what kind of story we want to tell. In the prologue, we are told by Nadia that Julian killed Lucio, and she needs our help to track him down and bring him to justice. Because of this, it makes the most sense to me if we bring a large focus to Julian; through his route, we learn about the Red Plague, the MC's death and resurrection, and all of the atrocities committed by Valdemar. This is also where his plan to be hung to talk to the Hanged Man gets explained the most. However, if we only follow Julian, we never learn of Asra's past with their missing parents, or his childhood growing up orphaned with Muriel. We won't learn of Nadia's rocky relationship with her parents, or much of anyone else's backstory, for that matter.

Therefore, I propose to you this mish-mash:

The A plot mostly follows Julian and Asra's routes. That first night, you talk to Asra through the fountain and confide in them about the investigation. The next day, you talk to Portia at her cottage, and she admits that Julian is her brother. You tell her you'll keep her secret, and Portia is happy. As you leave her cottage, you see a red stream and follow it, where you find Julian. He tells you the stream is no longer contagious, and he wistfully tells you there's no need for a plague doctor without a plague. You hear Malak scream, and as you try to run away you slip and fall into the stream, being bitten by an eel. Julian pulls you to safety, and once you're away from the guards he tends to your wounds. He shows you his mark, claiming it's a curse from Asra. You go back to the palace, where Asra is meeting with Nadia for the first time. He hugs you and asks if they can take you out for the day. You agree and they take you to their personal oasis and talk about the realms of the Arcana.

As the A plot unfolds, I think the B plot should be roughly Nadia's route, with Portia taking the place of the MC. Portia admits to knowing how to read and write after Nadia's sister shows up at Vlastomil's mansion.

Finally, the C plot should be Muriel and Morga hunting Lucio's ghost together. Here we learn about Muriel's past and his ties to Morga. They reconcile after one last fight against Lucio.

Everyone reconvenes in time for the hearing. During Muriel's route, Nadia tells you that they found Valdemar's secret lab. This should be where Julian regains his memories of his past, and where you, Asra, and Julian go to the Lazaret to learn once and for all about your death. Asra and Julian fight once more, Asra telling Julian he should have done more to protect you from the Plague. Julian runs away, turning himself in to Nadia. You talk to him behind bars, and he reveals his plan to talk to the Hanged Man. I also think that Valerius should accuse Nadia of conspiring with Julian here.

Nadia and Julian both take a stand. Julian gets pronounced guilty, with Nadia successfully proving her innocence and embarrassing Valerius. After the hanging, you, Portia, and Asra go to stay with Julian's body while Nadia gets the palace ready for the masquerade. Julian jolts alive, telling you of his meeting with the Hanged Man, and of Lucio's return with the plague.

Eventually, the Devil tracks you down and steals your body. You and Asra meet in the realms of the Arcana as Muriel and Nadia try to find out where the ritual took place. Asra finds his parent's prison, and you free Aisha and Salim as well as their familiars. As you let them leave, you are approached by the different courtiers. You unbind them from the Devil. Lucio shows up and begs to be unbound. You do so, regaining your body. You go back to the physical world where Nadia has imprisoned Lucio. You go to the Devil's feast where Faust and Asra secretly put your blood in the wine. Everyone drinks, but the merging of worlds does not happen. The Devil goes back to his domain where you follow with all your friends, binding him once and for all.

At the end, Nadia and Portia get together (obviously), maybe Asra and Julian reconcile, or the MC gets with one of them depending on the specifics of the story lol. Morga takes Lucio away, presumably to punish him on her own terms, or maybe to reconcile. Muriel, no longer bound by his chains, is happy :) maybe he and Asra kiss idk

Ok this was really long and I am fully aware it's a jumbled mess, but it's really hard to put something cohesive together when each of the different routes have such good storylines. At the end of the day, I really like the end of Julian's route where everyone comes together to help you bind the Devil. I think it's quite cinematic, albeit cliche. I also like the part of Nadia's story where you unbind the courtiers one by one (the little Volta creature has my whole heart). And of course, we can't forget about Asra saving their parents. I'm not too sure about an ending where Lucio is unbound-- I think the way Asra's route deals with Lucio is really cool. At the end of the day, I think the easiest way to do this is to figure out what you want from Lucio and work backwards from there.

My Analysis of the Best Paired Endings in 3H (Part 3: Claude/Hilda)

Byleth: (His easy smile is striking… But that smile doesn't reach his eyes…)

Claude is a Leo, a fire sign ruled by the Sun. Leo traits include being confident, comfortable being the center of attention, drama-adoring, ambitious, loyal, fiercely protective of their nearest and dearest, generous, luxury-loving, sunny, and big-hearted. Like Edelgard, his goal was to usher in the dawn of a new age as supreme leader.

He bears the Crest of Riegan, which is associated with The Moon arcana. The general meaning of The Moon is that everything is not as it seems. It is also the Major Arcana of intuition. It tells you that something about a situation or person in your life is not what it appears to be, and you need to trust what your instincts are telling you in order to see past this illusion.

Claude: When I first saw you wield the Sword of the Creator, I wanted to use your power to my advantage. I wanted to use you to make my dream of a new world come true. But before long, I realized what I really wanted was to see that new world…with you by my side. I still feel that way, you know. I always will. That's why I have to leave.

Claude was taking advantage of female Byleth's romantic interest in him to achieve his dream. He admitted as much himself in his S-Support. That explained why his Goddess Tower scene was all about his political ambitions and lacked any genuine romantic undertones. Supposedly he fell in love with her somewhere along the way. But something felt off to me. He couldn't even attend Byleth's coronation?

Byleth & Claude After ascending the throne as the first leader of the United Kingdom of Fódlan, Byleth sought to rebuild the war-torn towns and villages and to help guide the reformation of the Church of Seiros. After a few months of peace, remnants of the Imperial army joined with those who slither in the dark and marched upon the capital city of Derdriu. The new kingdom lacked the power to repel the invaders, but when defeat seemed imminent, a battle cry rang out from the east. Claude, the newly-crowned King of Almyra, led a mighty army that broke through the rebel forces with ease. This show of solidarity forever altered the course of history, heralding a new age of unity.

If he is paired with Petra, he postpones his return to Almyra for years due to his love. With Lysithea, his love for her compels him to give up the throne entirely. Even when he does return to Byleth like he promised, it's to defeat the remnants of the Imperial army and TWSITD. That earns him the title "King of Unification". But there's nothing in their paired ending to indicate a marital union.

Claude did care about Byleth as more than just a tool. But to me, it felt like the writers were trying to portray that he didn't love her romantically, albeit in a very subtle way. Which I actually found to be a very great idea. He definitely had a reason to marry Byleth for political purposes, considering his dream. And I liked that his reputation as a schemer finally amounted to something in the end after all. Besides, he had more chemistry with Hilda, anyway.

Hilda: It's just a legend, sure…but I prefer to be cautious about such things. One of the guys was pretty handsome, and he came from a good family… But that doesn't really tell you what a person's like on the inside. I want a life partner who's good-hearted and good-looking.

Claude is a very flirty person in general and has a lot of chemistry with most of the girls he can Support with. But he was particularly flirty with Hilda. Even their C-Support was surprisingly sexual. But their connection gradually developed into more than just physical attraction. The tagline for the game was, "Sweet memories twisted by time's cruel hand". Claude has many sweet memories of his childhood and Hilda is the only one who takes an interest in them.

Because of this, she was the only girl he offered to bring home. Claude is usually a very guarded young man who keeps his secrets close to his chest. He was afraid of his Almyran heritage being exposed because he's been the constant victim of racism. While Hilda made the occasional off-hand racist remark (moreso out of ignorance than malice), Claude still offered to introduce her to his family, showing his trust in her character and her ability to be judge people for who they are on the inside, not their heritage.

Holst: But what if the next king of Almyra turns out to be a kind and decent man? What if Hilda even likes him? Claude: Uh, if Hilda wants to marry that hypothetical heartthrob, I'm not gonna stop her. Look, what's all this really about? Holst: Apologies. My imagination ran free for a moment. If that is what Hilda wants, then I will not stand in her way either. Claude: Your imagination's definitely still running there. Holst: I'm just as worried about Hilda's future as I am about Leicester's—maybe even more so. Claude: I completely understand, so let me just say this… I believe that both Leicester's and Hilda's futures are as bright as they can be. All I ask is that you trust me.

Claude and Hilda don't need Byelth to choose the Golden Deer house to get married. Golden Wildfire proves that. Holst approves of their relationship. His A-Support with Claude even foreshadowed the Claude/Hilda paired ending. So, it definitely feels like it's the one Claude ship that's most rooted in "canon".

Hilda: I don't understand why anyone would want to risk their life for someone else. When you die, no matter how you died, it's over. To me, it's more important to enjoy life. We only live once, after all. It's a waste to spend all your time working and being responsible, right?

Hilda was the only character I did not recruit on my AM New Game+. If I had to guess, I'd say she was probably not even gonna be recruitable outside her home route, similar to Dedue and Hubert. I left her behind because I didn't want Claude to be alone. But also because she truly belonged on that bridge in Derdriu defending him. It's the ultimate fulfillment of her character arc, showing how she's changed from a spoiled and lazy girl into a mature woman who will try her best to not let down the people she cares about.

Hilda and Claude were the only lord and retainer I felt comfortable shipping because their differing social status had practically no effect on how they related to each other. Hilda could see through his fake smile because she was just as manipulative, constantly flirting to get people to do things for her. In CF, she died for Claude because she had fun with him and found him sexy, not because it was her duty as a Crest bearer. Claude expected her to run, but she stood her ground.

As a lord, Claude was in the middle. He was ambitious like Edelgard but not quite as ruthless. He shared Dimitri's distaste for war, but would compromise those ideals in pursuit of his goals. What I liked about Hilda as a retainer was that she supported him emotionally, but she also challenged him on his decisions when it was necessary. She questioned whether being king was really what he wanted when he was a natural free spirit at heart.

Claude: You and I may not hold any grudges, but if you look to our history, you'll see it was the Kingdom who tossed us to the wolves first. When our people were fighting for independence from the Empire, Faerghus attacked and conquered Leicester for themselves.

Claude certainly had good intentions, but in the end, he was perhaps a bit too motivated by self-interest. In VW, he realized that, which is why he stepped down in favor of Byleth. In GW, there is a chapter called "The End of the Alliance". Claude becomes king of the Federation and allies with Edelgard. He announces his intention to eliminate the church and invade the Kingdom using historical disputes as a justification, however questionable that may be.

Claude: If you're going to lead Fódlan, then the Alliance lords will follow you. Back in the day, the Alliance split off from the Kingdom. I'm just putting us back together again.

In AM, there is a cutscene called "The End of the Alliance". Claude puts aside all historical animosity and willingly unifies with the Kingdom. Why the change of heart? He admitted he wouldn't do anything unless he had something to gain, but Byleth and Dimitri selflessly came to his rescue. And because of that, he gives his Hero's Relic to Dimitri, something he did not to for Edelgard. Symbolically this gesture is so important because he always thought he needed the power of the relics to realize his dream. But he doesn't.

Claude & Hilda Trusting the affairs to his comrades with whom he had fought, Claude departed for his homeland. While in Fódlan he was no more than a noble, upon returning to his homeland of Almyra, he was a prince of the realm. Having grown strong and mature, he gained recognition among the royal family and eventually wielded influence in national politics. Several years later, the king of Almyra retired, and Claude succeeded to the throne. Simultaneously, a queen was introduced – none other than Hilda. Leveraging her brother's support, she unexpectedly demonstrated diplomatic prowess, contributing to the establishment of diplomatic relations between Almyra and Fódlan. Furthermore, with two consecutive queens from Fódlan, the values of Almyra began to evolve.

In AM, Claude's fate doesn't change much compared to VW. He still goes back to Almyra, presumably with Hilda if she wasn't recruited. So, I don't even think their VW paired ending would be any different in the AM timeline. And their marital union is what will help Claude achieve his dream. He didn't need Byleth, the Hero's Relics, or to become supreme leader. Marrying Hilda opens Fódlan's Locket. This is the only ending where Hilda gets involved in politics instead of making accessories, but it is better for her character development, and I think she'd be happier that way in the end.

Hiiiii ~ Curious about your MCs 🌱 🌪️ 🌌 if possible!

Hello, and absolutely!!!

🌱What is their most vivid memory from childhood?

For Yzme it would when she first really saw her curse in action so to speak. On one of her first jobs breaking and entering to steal with her guild, she was grabbed by the arm making her bandages come loose, but luckily an older member stepped in and saved her.

For Aelia, I wanted to play off what was said in the TS demo about the unnamed origin finding Kuras familiar. So that one won't be completely fleshed out until the game is out and if it even touches more on that line. But so far I headcanon that she saw him in one of her first visions and his face just really kind of stuck with her. Like out all the premonitions she has had, the one with Kuras was the most memorable.

For Halcyon, it would when they successfully cast their first spell. This one's pretty simple, but Hallie would have been extremely proud of themselves.

🌪️ What is the biggest change you've ever made to them? how have they changed from their original version?

Halcyon and Aelia were one and done. I didn't make any revisions to them. Aside from a possible wardrobe update in the future, I mostly likely won't change them. Aelia took about a day while Halcyon took about a week to make.

Yzme went through the most changes. She started out as the far left char before the devs released any info on the MC and once they did, I decided that what little I had come up with didn't mesh well, but I didn't want to start over completely. Kept some of the base aspects like the skin/eye color and hair type, and worked more around the curse and slightly changed the name- Esme to Yzme. Changed Esme's name recently so they didn't sound too similar. She's just kind of a fanon LI thing in the back of my head now.

Then not too long afterwards, changed Yzme's eyes to blue and gave her more straight hair instead of wavy. And in even newer pieces, Yzme's hair is a bit longer and I've updated her outfit a little.

🌌 What was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

The inspo behind Yzme is my own personality really. Out of all the origins, I feel like the Hound had it the hardest. They seem like a just a person. No special powers beyond the curse while the Unnamed has premonitions/can sense things and the Alchemist can cast magic. So Yzme deals with life like I do- dark humor and a smart ass mouth to cope with the trauma/depression. So the first thing I decided once I got her design down was how she'd snap back at people/have a mouth that got her in trouble, and that really aligned with the MC in the game so I was really happy about that. lol

Aelia's inspo is what I wish I could be sometimes. To be more positive through any hard time. That and I modeled her body closer to mine and her looks to reflect her bright personality (she supposed to reminiscent to a sunrise). I can also be extremely shy and anxious, and that was the first thing I decided for her when reading the Unnamed background. Someone who has social anxiety because they never left what was comfortable to them.

Halcyon's inspo was mostly just making a mage like character around themes I like - witchcraft, galaxies, pastels. I did this with my Arcana MC as well so if anything, I unconsciously pulled from her design a little now that I think about it. Both have pastel colored hair, orange eyes (well my Arcana MC originally had orange eyes), and they both can cast spells. The only more real life qualities Hallie has is the fact that they have mundane insecurities about their appearance. Hallie has shark-like teeth and slightly pointed ears. But they live in world with monsters that have horns, tails, odd eyes, sharp teeth, etc so it's not like it necessary out of the norm at this point, but they know it used to not be normal at all. I was making Hallie for either Leander or Vere and leaned into what Vere said about the MC. "Not quite human, not quite monster." It was something along those lines.

This year Lisa's love life will likely be like a roller coaster. It will move in waves with many ups-and-downs. I think she might've experienced heartbreak/disappointment recently (10 of Swords). She felt betrayed and defeated about something that happened in her love life. This could be a break up. I think she's in the process of healing an regaining her strength and happiness; she's also embracing her feminine energy (The Empress, Strength, The Sun). She's going to feel a lot better; however, something might happen again that will shake her foundation once more (The Tower). I think that she will believe that she's already over it and moved on, but if her ex comes back or she suddenly remembers her ex, she will easily fold and her routine might be disrupted by this point in time. This could also mean that she might have memories of him coming back that will shake her resolve. I think that a part of her has a hard time of letting go because she takes a lot of pride in her relationships that she wants to make her relationship work (Oracles: Full Moon in Leo + Waning Moon). However, I think the cards are telling her that she would eventually have to let go. It's uncomfortable when she leaves a familiar relationship but she needs to (Oracle: North Node). Once she lets go and finds herself again, I think she will be emotionally fulfilled and very happy. Lisa seems to be a great manifestor (The Magician). If she wants something she will likely get it. She might also spend a lot of time with family or anything that reminds of her childhood to heal (6 of Cups). I think she will still prioritize her passions (Ace of Wands) and she will end the year very emotionally content whether or not she's will a partner (9 of Cups).

I think Lisa will do just fine. She’s just going through a phase right now of difficulty. Her reading is a bit exhausting because of the ups and downs in the energy.

The Arcana HCs: What M6 get from their parents

For someone who's never claimed to be a sailor, he sure spends a lot of time at sea and dreaming about future boats

It's much less surprising when he starts talking about the few hazy memories he has of being the oldest son of merchant parents. His early childhood was spent playing above and below decks

Which explains his specific brand of wanderlust pretty well. Instead of it being a boredom with the mundane or a fear of commitment, it's this deep sense of himself as a global citizen

He's happiest in marketplaces and finding his family among odd groups of people from all over the world, what can he say??

Not to mention his "if I can't find what I need here, maybe I just need to try somewhere else" mentality when it comes to problem solving. Need more education? Time to visit a new country!

It would make sense for his natural aptitude with learning new languages, forming quick connections, and creating collaborations to have come from fairly successful merchant parents as well

Whether that's also where he got his godawful cooking skills from, or whether that's just a "him" thing, remains up for debate

Asra

You learned it pretty quickly after meeting them - you know exactly where that constant, almost insatiable curiosity comes from

That, and the tendency to have a new thought, forget the current conversation, and trail off into disjointed mumbles as said thought gets rapidly unpacked and explored from several angles

If Salim is who Asra gets his brain from, Aisha is where he got his spirit. That stubborn hope and determined dedication to care for who he loves? He got that from the women who looked the Devil dead in the eye and told him to leave her child alone or else

You can also see a lot of the way Asra relates to you in the way their parents relate to each other. It's that easy, intuitive comfort of shedding pretenses from the get go and embracing uniqueness

Why bother trying to show off what you're good at, when you could try something new together instead? Sure they could give you a tour of their gate - or Salim could give his experimental magic a test run now that you're around to help out!

Not to mention how all three of them seem to know healing magic

And they all love a good cup of tea

Nadia

She could spend hours telling you exactly how unlike her sisters and parents she is, but let's be real. Satrinava genes are strong and you could pick one out of a crowd any day

The intelligence levels she couldn't hide if she tried? Check

The absolute perfection of her fashion choices? Check

The habit she can't turn off of looking not just at you but through you with a kind of perceptive, piercing gaze that has no intention of telling you what she's figuring out about you? Also check

(Seriously, every member of her family does it nonstop and at this point you're wondering if you should just give up all your secrets)

The tendency to approach any problem or conflict by openly stating her own opinion/perspective first? Check

The down-to-earth openmindedness that you have to actually talk to her to discover? Check. Nazali seems to be the one exception, but you're pretty sure that's after years of traveling around

The immediate need to take responsibility for whatever's going on, or more accurately, going wrong? Check

There was a lot about Muriel that you thought was "just Muriel" until you made that trip South together and saw all the subtle ways he became more grounded in himself

Nobody's concerned about taking up too much space in vast tundra. No wonder he always seemed to feel cramped

It also seemed a bit counterintuitive for such a minimalist furnace of a man to own a veritable pile of furs until you walked into Khamgalai's hut. He might not remember it, but he probably spent his first few years wrapped and dressed in them

Not to mention his tendency to fill his space with earthy, herbal smells to the point of carrying pouches of it with him. There were dried foraged plants all over the rafters there

What eventually came to be one of his strongest ties, though, was his craftsmanship. How someone who disliked frivolous things did so much detail was beyond you, until you saw those tapestries

And, of course, the remnants of years of nomadic movement in his need to spend hours at a time outside every day, keeping a steady pace through the forest to assure himself that all is well

Portia

This didn't spring out at you from her the way it did from her brother, but Portia has a capacity for dramatics that she does a deviously excellent job of downplaying

Sure, she seems considerably better adjusted and grounded than he does, and sure, her tendency to compensate for the unique needs of her loved ones shows up in being hypercompetent

But you're certain at this point that at least one of her parents was a hell of an actor/dramatist. You've watched how easily she can put on whatever face she needs to accomplish what she wants

Not to mention the love of stories and art of storytelling. You know you're at a Devorak gathering when both you and half the other people in the area are totally drawn in to a fond memory retelling

You can also see the makings of traveling merchants in her job as Vesuvia's ambassador. It's almost scary how easily she makes herself at home spending months at sea, going place to place

And both scary and awe-inspiring when she finds herself locked in negotiations. Whether with a marketplace stall owner, or a stubborn noble with an import she wants, she's indomitable

Lucio

Honestly, beyond their physical similarities, it's pretty hard at first to see all the ways in which Lucio takes after his mother

They're both such strong products of their environment. Morga is stern, stonefaced, and (to put it bluntly) stingy, but she takes accountability beyond her means and always faces hard choices

Lucio is the opposite. Loud, expressive, flamboyant, unconcerned with discipline or rules, terrified of hard choices or accountability, and (when he's not under duress) generous to a fault

The first place you saw it? Their dismissiveness, unfortunately

As soon as it's not something they understand or relate to, they both lose interest in talking about it and tend to be quick to brush it aside, often without pausing to consider other's feelings first

Not to mention how quickly both of them jump to using aggression to express themselves. You can tell it's got a whole lot more to do with how intensely they feel things than any bad intentions

But the trait you learn they share most is what you take the longest to notice: quiet, unassuming protection as a subconscious love language. They'll always keep watch when you're vulnerable

Current personality; aloof yet polite when getting to know people, introverted and gets drained quite quickly when in public, quiet and doesn't speak much unless prompted to do so. When you get to know them better they are more warm, but still quiet. Will scold people for pushing themselves too hard, but only does so because they care. Once they are extremely comfortable with someone, the old them shines through; loud, a chatterbox, goofy, warm, and full of life and love. To others this is endearing, but to Asra? He loves seeing it but it is also a reminder of the person he lost.

Appearance; of average height, but their build is quite stocky with both body fat and muscle. Their eyes are dark grey, but appear dark blue at a distance, they are also near-sighted (eyesight worsened post-plague). Their hair is brown, curly, and when down it reaches their collarbone (both pre and post-plague). It is less textured than it was pre-plague, and they also wear it in a bun at the nape of their neck. They have an assortment of beauty marks on their face, as well as a scar on their lip that they got in their childhood (had the same mishap when they came back, hence why they still have it). They typically wear a short-sleeved white button up, brown trousers, dark brown sandals, and a black apron. They wear a purple crystal necklace and it acts as a ward to keep memories from flooding back, as well to ward off spirits of the plague.

Other Info/Background

After being brought back, Asra tried his best to reteach them what he knew about them. He knew about the non-binary aspect of their identity, but not the aroace aspect. They were quiet about this part of their identity in the past, and now they are navigating trying to differentiate romantic and platonic feelings all over again. (would be open to a queer-platonic relationship or several)

Grew up on the coast of the Strait of Seals, close the the Southern Spines (tundra/saiga).

Eldest of three, and left home to bring in more income for their community. They don't do well in the heat, but they do not miss the winters of their homeland, or what they can remember of it; they sometimes get a flashback when they smell certain smells, or a cold breeze.

Crochets and knits items for the children who live at the docks, and that's how they met Asra and Muriel; they were teens when they met, but they still gifted both Asra and Muriel blankets so they could keep warm during the night. They had to relearn this skill after being brought back, and can't crochet or knit with as much skill as they once had.

Their familiar is a Danish landrace goose named Gunnr, she makes a great guard goose and chases off anybody that she decides that she doesn't like. "Why is your goose named Gunnr?" "It means war, and she seems to like to declare it. Isn't that right baby?" "HONK!"

The cold blooded man, the psychopathic partner to Arcana, the cunning manipulator. Those nicknames juggled in her head and all she saw from him was a man who’s trying to show his fondness to her.

Druvis wanted alone time in her woods to process of what's happening ahead, but what she didn't expect was that she had company.

“May I join you?” Druvis snapped back to her consciousness as her head raised to the right. She didn’t notice Mr. Forget Me Not approaching her, nor did she develop any reaction when her eyes landed on his pale slender figure.

Druvis sighed as she darted her eyes to a vacant spot next to her, gesturing for Mr. Forget Me Not to settle beside her. Mr. Forget Me Not lowered his head a bit as if he was bowing and sat on the faded green picnic blanket while Druvis stared into the void.

One thing she noticed while working with Mr. Forget Me Not was his flamboyant posture. The way he went from standing to sitting gave off a flexible serpentine movement, and his overall self always remained professional. Druvis always wondered why he was like that in the first place. Perhaps a habit of being around humans took effect on him to be more tense and intimidating. Or maybe he was merely showing the impression that he was actually ominous and superior… Or at least that was how Druvis thought of him before.

The more she was in Manus Vindictae, the more she could see through his reflection. She couldn’t really identify who Mr. Forget Me Not really was but she erased that idea anyway. She had more responsibilities than to assume someone’s self.

“Beautiful isn’t it?” Mr. Forget Me Not commented as Druvis hummed in response. She wasn’t in the mood for a conversation. But she didn’t mind his presence either.

Druvis wanted alone time in her woods, but didn’t expect anyone to be in her comfort place. She wanted to stretch her legs underneath her infamous tree to gaze out at the atmosphere and eat scones that she stole the other day in a cafe; Gray mists slithering within the wilted burnt trees, the pale dead grass getting whistled by the breeze, and the subtle silence draping over the skies, oh how it nestled something warm within her heart. Oh to say farewell to her childhood memories in this place. Oh to say goodbye to her home.

The Storm was in a week from now and Mr. Forget Me Not was probably here to warn her. But she didn’t need any companion to soothe her disconcertment, she was better off longing alone.

“I assume that you’re here for business, Mr. Forget Me Not,” Druvis muttered as Mr. Forget Me Not let out a light chuckle. “The Storm is in a week Ms. Druvis-,”

“I’m aware.” Mr. Forget Me Not caught his breath before breaking into another grin. His fangs glinted within the fading sun. Silence draped between the two of them.

Mr. Forget Me Not sighed and leaned to the tree. A weird gesture for a man in a higher status who always seemed so stiff in the eyes of the Weyerhaeuser descendant.

“I’m trying to enjoy my time here the best I could… Perhaps I wasn’t ready for all of this to happen, but I’m still trying to accept things the way they are.” Mr. Forget Me Not stared at her with a genuine empathetic demeanor and shifted in his seat before crossing his arms. Druvis never saw him so moderate before around someone like Druvis, and she thought she was another background character who had no means for Forget Me Not to be comfortable with.

“Oh Ms. Druvis, even if your era was reversed we, Manus Vindictae could always switch the authority to your hands.” Druvis remained silent and perched herself on the tree an inch near the man of Manus Vindictae.

She was trying to find the necessity of Forget Me Not visiting her, because she was neglecting the fact that this man had even a wince of color oozing out from his dead snow skin. That he wasn’t just some vessel to Arcana. That he had the tenderness to approach Druvis and comfort her about leaving the woods in his own way. When she was first enrolled in Manus Vindictae, Forget Me Not didn’t leave her side. He was the first one to ever pity her and the first person in that organization to technically ever make friends with her. Clearly his emotions didn’t spike out, but the more they interacted the more that colorless demeanor of his started to get transparent. Druvis wasn’t really fond of it but there was something about this man that genuinely for the first time ever made herself again.

Long ago her colors bled from her skin and she stayed frigid ever since. She refused to be attached with anyone and often disclosed herself to the public. That was of course until Forget Me Not noticed her. She didn’t really care about him up until now she realized he saw potential in her. That in some way they were birds of a feather. Their experiences were familiar with each other, and Forget Me Not was merely lurching out for her. He showed his affection and Druvis was oblivious to see it until now she realized. He’d always ask how her woods were doing, often gave opportunities for her forest to flourish, and entertained her when she first got into Manus Vindictae. He was gesturing something to her and Druvis didn’t give one care about it.

She closed her eyes and embraced the wind whistling through her hair. Forget Me Not was a ghost next to her and for some reason she found serenity in that. She couldn’t help herself but grin a little over it.

“These woods used to be mesmerizing. Even if it was swept by the Storm, there’s nothing I could do to return the soul. The core of what made the woods breathing. There’s nothing else I could do to offer, nothing I can heal. All I could do is to protect it but I guess, I’m not really suitable for the role. I’m still uncertain of how I feel about the woods though. Guilt or regret, still not sure.”

Druvis whirled her head to lock eyes with Mr. Forget Me Not. Their eyes tangled together uncomfortably for a minute and Druvis took her time to scrutinize Forget Me Not’s feature. His dark curls, his lanky glasses framed in his nose, his fatigue foxy eyes, and his pale skin. The urge to take off his glasses and lean closer to him seeped into her mind. Her eyes shifted up and down Mr. Forget Me Not and she opened her mouth lightly.

She wanted to kiss him but she restrained herself. A part of her mind told her to lean for it, because at this moment of her life, it didn’t matter anymore who she was making it out with. It was a kiss that meant nothing, a kiss to take a breather, a kiss of relief, a kiss of acceptance to leave this place. A kiss to erase her sentimental values for her home. A kiss to restart her life.

Her lips finally met his. She didn’t think twice as she fluttered her eyes shut. Mr. Forget Me Not took it by surprise but he didn’t pull away. He was drained to react expertly so Druvis guessed that he was in defeat. The man of higher power in Manus Vindictae showed a wince of vulnerability and so did the protector of the Weyerhaeuser woods. The kiss didn’t hold any meaning and Druvis assumed that Mr. Forget Me Not thought the same. He knew that she deserved this form of affection, he knew that she needed something to loosened up her nerves, he knew this kiss was absent of essence, that it was blurry of whether it’s romantic or platonic or something more.

The kiss lasted for a while and Druvis parted. A chain of saliva connected their lips as they locked gazes again. The Weyerhaeuser heir stared back at the woods as if nothing happened and the slender man did the same. He knew when to react and the affection was nothing short but for mere business purposes. At least that was how Druvis thought the both of them worked this way out.

“I’m sorry,” she muttered as if it didn’t make the situation any better. Forget Me Not let out a light chuckle and Druvis furrowed her brows over that reaction of his. To actually witness Forget Me Not having other emotions.

“You don’t have to apologize, Ms. Druvis. No need to stiffen up,” Forget Me Not reassured. Druvis nodded slowly over the man's response and she didn't even dare to look at his eyes. A taint of blush bloomed in her cheeks and she swiveled away from Forget Me Not's eyes.

She didn't want him to see her facade tumble. She didn't want him yet to embrace her other shadows. She didn't want him to acknowledge her, but she couldn't help herself but endure the thrill of the situation. Druvis’ breath got heavier, her face an obscured blend of warm red, her hands trembling immensely. She reminded herself that this was a natural response, that it wasn't Forget Me Not who got her flustered, but the kiss did.

“Anything wrong?” Forget Me Not asked. His tone was luring yet held innocence within it.

Druvis fluttered her eyes shut and sighed, trying to ignore his words. Her blush faded away and she focused her eyes back on the landscape of the woods, trying to linger on her ghost manners. Forget Me Not tilted his head and Druvis took her time before speaking again. Reminding herself that this was for business and nothing else.

“Very generous of you to bring back the woods to me when this is all gone. But you don’t have the necessity to do it.” Forget Me Not started at her for a minute. There was nothing except for the sound of the rushing wind and Forget Me Not grinned in triumphant. As if he already managed to wrap his hands around her heart.

“Are you certain Ms. Druvis?” Druvis stared at the man again hesitantly. “I’m never certain.” Forget Me Not scoffed. It seemed like the tension from that brief kiss had wavered away.

“And-,” Druvis didn't continue the words. Reconsidering the words she wanted to say. “About the kiss-,”

“It was nothing,” Forget Me Not said calmly. His pale tone took Druvis by surprise. Acting as if a kiss didn't symbolize anything. As if they didn't mean anything.

“There are other things that will concern you rather than a mere kiss.” Druvis’ face lit up. “And that might be?”

“Unresolved issues.” Druvis furrowed her brows. “Unresolved… issues?” Forget Me Not nodded and adjusted his glasses.

“I don't understand… What issue are you talking about?” Druvis asked as the man of Manus Vindictae huffed. She eagerly waited for his response and it seemed like he was trying to find the appropriate words.

Well my favorites are those of the Obey Me line (One Master to Rule them all & Nightbringer) - even tho they’re never making another one *sobs violently*, but another good one is The Arcana!! Very very pretty both of them.

I also have god awful memory. So I have no clue. But I have a few. Like Gardevoir & Weezing (specifically the Galarian form. He got a top hat) & Gigantamax Snorlax !! There are more but. I cannot remember lmao

OOH, I’ve played a little bit of Sonic Forces! I don’t really remember much of it, though. Most of the Sonic games I played a bunch of were older ones on the Xbox 360. Hopefully you will be able to get more soon since you seem to really like Sonic! I haven’t seen any of the movies yet; are they good? …OH. I didn’t even know a new game came out after the one I was talking about, but yes, I meant Frontiers! It’s so weird looking up Sonic Adventures 2 and seeing that the graphics aren’t actually that good… I almost thought it wasn’t that game for a sec. I guess I thought they were better since I was younger 😭 I need a chao garden irl
