“Extreme hot take but Derek is the best OL1 love interest. He has the best and sweetest confession in the game. You play video games together. He seems reserved until you actually start dating and find out that he's actually just a gentleman who didn't want to be overly forward with someone he's not in a relationship with. He's a family man. You get to blatantly abuse your 'dating' privileges in front of his brothers. He's just so insanely sweet and caring and makes me wanna cry whenever I play his DLC.”

“- Impossible to dislike

- No, like, literally impossible. OL1 will allow you to be indifferent to it's two other LIs, Cove and Baxter but you actually can't pick that option for Derek. Game decided that You Will Be (at least) Friends With Derek

- This boy is so good!!!! He's a sweetheart and has your back in the best way and he's constantly doing his best to make sure the people around him (especially you) are happy

- This is also a complex flaw of his because he feels like he needs to be the best that he can be and to be worth something

- This both manifests in how he treats others (he's exceedingly well-mannered and does everything for others because he secretly hopes that someday someone will do the same for him) and his career prospects (he takes on excessive practice to get good at football/soccer so that he can potentially get a scholarship and become famous all so he can potenially feel like he's worth something. This is actually a major conflict in his Step 4)

- His DLC also has some of the best moments in the game

- He also has a family and they're also really good and you get to see a lot of them

- His dad is hilarious, his mom is gorgeous and their relationship is very cute

- Meanwhile, Derek's brothers are great. I wanna gush about them because I love them but also play Derek's DLC yourself!!! See how good they are for yourself!!!!

- I will say that these three have a really good relationship dynamic and the development it takes in the 10 years between when you first meet Jorge and Nico as little kids to Step 4 where they're adults (and a teenager, Nico is 16 in Step 4) is genuinely very well written

- If you're into the steamy stuff, Derek also has the best make-out session out of all of the boys

- He's also just. Very funny. This boy will invite you to a waterpark and then ask you if its a date so he knows whether or not it's ok to check you out in your swimsuit

- Or, if you aren't dating by that point (but you do want to to date him), the narration will note how he's trying so so hard not to check you out, he's just trying so so so hard

- Puppy dog face. Look at it. Tell me you can look at that face and not want to smooch him

- His confession is also the best, did I mention it's the best? Because it's absolutely the best one in the entire game

- He has a whole thing about having to confess to you on a ferris wheel and he's so committed to it that he actually avoided ferris wheels for a long time before this confession because he promised himself he'd do it the next time he went on one

- And then he went on one...and he literally doesn't confess when he does it because he lost track of time and he had to get off

- so he asks you to go on the ferris wheel with him again so he can actually confess this time

as somebody who is really interested in tarot but is SO BAD at memorizing the card meanings (i've decided to just make my own custom oracle deck at this point), i'm curious if you had any headcanons/thematic ties between the major arcana and one piece characters??

IT IS NOT - THIS IS FANTASTIC

Two of my favorite things - MY TWO FAVORITEST THINGS IF I HAD TO PICK \o/ THIS IS LIKE A FREE CHRISTMAS

Forgive me, this'll be a bit off the top of my head, so I may make adjustments at some later date, but I absolutely MUST do my best to answer this RIGHT NOW. (I'm vibrating I'm so delighted by this \lol/)

0 The Fool/Luffy - The Fool isn't an idiot, as some people assume based on the name of the card, he's on a journey - as a matter of fact, it's a journey he takes *through* the major arcana. He learns about the world, and himself - about injustices and his own morals and limits. The Fool is about the journey.

1 The Magician/Shanks - The Magician is effectively the Fool's first teacher. The Magician card is as above, so below. He's all the major suits, he's magic and power. Good or Evil isn't relevant (though generally it's always positive to see this card).

2 The High Priestess/Nami - The Priestess is strong girl power - well, strong "things we often associate with feminine energy". She doesn't back down, she knows her strengths, and her weaknesses. There's a bluntness here too, and a fierceness. It's very "That look Nami gave Sanji on Whole Cake Island."

3 The Empress/Nico Robin - The Empress is more a motherly vibe and less a Strong Boss Lady vibes. She's caring, nurturing, protective, but not restrictive. There's a caring vibe that resonates with this that isn't really found in the Priestess.

4 The Emperor/Jinbei - I'm just name some moments - Making Luffy remember his nakama, giving him his blood, not joining when he wanted too - joining when he could do it right. Supporting Luffy even from a distance. Stern, strong, wise, educated, Supportive. Big Good Masculine Vibes.

5 The Hierophant/Monkey D. Garp - The hierophant is a teacher of sorts, kind of a societal vibe vs what The Magician teaches. Here to show you the path you "should" travel. Not necessarily the path you're going to want to travel - just know the road's probably going to be bumpier if you don't listen to him, but contextually, it could be more rewarding.

6 The Lovers/Roronoa Zoro - The Lovers Does NOT MEAN JUST ROMANTIC LOVE or sexy love or whatever. The Lovers is a card about dedication, devotion - being there for someone completely, and that person being there for you completely. Partners. This is a good Kid x Killer vibe card too.

7 The Chariot/Thousand Sunny - The Chariot is about motion, but controlled motion. There's generally no reins being depicted for this card (sometimes there is), but the person is still in control. The crew didn't have much direction when the Merry Go was their ship, but comparatively, they did with Sunny.

8 Strength/Usopp - Strength isn't usually talking about physical strength. It's strength of will. Why Usopp? Facing off against Luffy was an immense show of strength, and his growth after that was even more so. It's very much inline with the card.

9 The Hermit/Sanji - The Hermit doesn't *want* to be alone, but the Hermit often needs it. Not the kind of alone that means shoving everyone away, the kind of alone that sits on the bow of the ship and contemplates their sense of self. Sanji has a lot of work to do in this, but I also think he's a character who has done a LOT of it long before he met Zeff.

10 Wheel of Fortune/The whole bloody series honestly - The Wheel Turns, and things change. This card means whatever is going on now, isn't going to be going on tomorrow. The good times will end, the bad times won't last forever. Everything changes. Appreciate the good while you can, and weather the hard times knowing they won't last.

11 Justice/ - Hrm.

12 The Hanged Man/Trafalgar Law - Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing at all. Sometimes you need to just Stop and Think about things. Maybe Law over thinks sometimes (he certainly has the whole "sacrifice oneself for the greater good" vibe going one, which can also be a thing for this card.)

13 Death/The Going Merry - Change is inevitable, and while the Wheel is about day to day changes, Death is about BIG changes. Changes that don't leave you the same as they found you. Changes that can break you if you don't roll with them - Changes you CANNOT outrun.

14 Temperance/Several Characters- Temperance is about balance, a lot like Justice, but with Temperance there is emotion that you don't find in Justice. My knee jerky reaction places several characters here - Robin's mom, Nami's mom, and Rosinante (my apologies for being bad with names and not wanting to break from this to look them up.) These people all had a strong connection to temperance - doing what needed done, not because of logic or justice, but because of love.

15 The Devil/Doflamingo - The Devil is about choice. Generally it's about negative choices and not positive ones, because it's about the chains that bind us to the things that pull us down. It's about crumbling and failing because we chose to do things the way we did. I liken Doffy to this, since we often don't see what it is we're doing wrong, and with the wrong people around us, well, we just keep going headlong into the wrong path. (Doffy isn't the devil in this card, Trebol could be, but Doffy is definitely the one in chains).

16 The Tower/Marine ford - I don't know that I really need to say anything else ^^;

17 The Star/Silvers Rayleigh - Thinking back to how this is story of journey for the Fool, Rayleigh is the perfect character to follow Marine Ford. He didn't heal Luffy like Law did, he didn't heal him like how Jinbei did. He just offered hope - a chance to recover from the rough and harsh lessons that came before him, and make sure Luffy could continue forward on his own.

18 The Moon/Momonosuke - Wary, anxious - the moon is about intuition, but not "oh I knew they were gonna kiss" kinds of intuition. It's about knowing something is wrong, something is looming, something is unavoidable and you don't know WHY you're nervous and afraid (or maybe you have an inkling) you just are. The moon is fear of the unknown, and it's not a card that has any answers most of the time - you just have to get through it.

19 The Sun/Sabo - It's his memories coming back, him meeting Luffy in the Coliseum, eating the fruit, holding that newspaper to his chest and smiling like a DOOF when he sees his little brother is doing well. It wasn't necessarily all rainbows, but there's clarity there - everything is illuminated, no shadows. Shit hurt for a while, but he can see the good in it all.

20 Judgement/Portgas D. Ace - This card isn't so much about wiping the slate clean, as it is realizing that all your flaws, scars, mistakes, etc. have helped make you who you are. It's about accepting your flaws and either incorporating them, or improving yourself to lessen them. Honestly the most heart breaking thing about Ace is how he was doing this, he just never got the chance to see it through.

21 The World/Joy Boy - I'll just leave this as this for now. ^_^

Okay since I have yapped about my fave male characters before, I shall now yap about some of fave female characters, for anyone interested. And trust me, when you read this list, you'll start to notice a pattern.

First up, Genshin Impact. I will pick my top 3 favourite girls. Yelan. I love her a lot. She's strong, she's cool, she's confident, got an air of mystery about her. She could step on me and I'd thank her for the experience. Such a good voice too. Top tier.

Shenhe. I adore her character design. Another woman who is so strong that she could pick me up no effort and carry me around bridal style. My dream. I love her backstory and I think she's interesting. Also zero tact when she talks, she's so damn blunt I find it hilarious.

Arlecchino. I will admit, recency bias is probably playing a big part in this but I love her. Strong, capable woman. Not completely a good guy either which is nice for a change. Completely dominating aura, I would fall on my knees for Father :) I love how one of her idle animations is her just glitching out of reality. Can relate.

Honkai Star Rail. Fave three women again. I'll start with Kafka. She scares me but I also like her. She arouses me but I'm also terrified of her. She could ask anything of me and I'll probably do it. Another woman with an air of mystery to her. Would love to get to know her, I think she would wine and dine me and I would appreciate it.

Black Swan. Oh my god I love her. Great character design. Looks like a massive flirt and tease and I have the distinct feeling she would like chubby girls and tease them so much god please let it be true I like her so much. I can't wait until her banner comes back around I had to skip her for my stupid, dragon husband I'm so sorry babe I'll come back for you I swear.

Acheron. I just wanna hold her hand. She's been through so much. I wanna stay up and have late night conversations with her. She doesn't even have to talk, just listen to me ramble I can fill the silence with my yapping. Very pretty woman, so strong I'm so glad I got her she has helped me clear harder stuff in swarm disaster and golden gears.

And now, some rapid fire fandoms and girls. My favorutie Yugioh girl is Aki Izayoi from 5ds. She has a sad backstory. She has a cool design. I love her Black Rose Dragon. Psychic Duellist are cool. She's scary at first because she pushes people away but once she starts to trust she is so sweet and caring.

Nico Robin from One Piece. Oh my god, favourite strawhat and woman of the show. I love her so much. Her backstory made me so sad. That one scene from Enies Lobby had me in fucking tears. I cannot watch that scene without crying. Such a caring woman. And strong too. And I love watching her get passionate about her hobbies. She's also a little weird too and I like them a little weird as well.

Android 21 from Dragon Ball franchise. Yeah, who would of guessed? I like the hot, Android milf. Android 18 is cool too but I really like Android 21. The fact that she has a ridiculous sweet tooth is something I relate to because girl, same. She would indulge my sweet tooth and I would appreciate it.

Persona Series. I don't know why but apparently I must have a thing for the girls of the Priestess Arcana because I romanced Mokoto in Persona 5 and then I romanced Fuuka of Persona 3 reload. I'll let you guys figure that one out lol.

DMC: An Absurd Comedy (A Devil May Cry Fanfiction) - Wrath Followers Arc - Chapter 1

Synopsis: With rumors spreading regarding dark witchcraft spreading to the hidden islands of Vie de Marli, Nero gathers his team to look into the possible confrontation with Wrath. How would this effect them? Can they resist the urge of bloodlust and rage?

February 25th, 6:58 PM – Two minutes before closing time at Devil May Cry shop

Nero sat behind the counter, one leg kicked up on the desk, tapping his boot in a half-assed rhythm. His arm rested across the back of his chair like he was born to lounge, though the slight twitch in his fingers told a different story. He was bored out of his skull. He stared at the clock, waiting for the clock to strike 7 so he can close-up.

Nero then sees a car pull up right in front of the shop. Shit. Please tell me there is just limited parking, and he’s just headed to Bullseye’s Bar…

But nope, the man, a burly older guy was squinting at the neon sign. Wrong place, wrong place… Nero spotted the man nodding. Goddammit…

The bell above it gave a cheerful jingle.

The man’s shirt was wrinkled, jacket thrown on like an afterthought, and he was balding. “Devil May Cry,” Nero said mechanically, sitting up straight, “What do you need?”

"Uh, hi… I’m Mr. Gjerde. Lars. Lars Gjerde. Am I—am I too late?" He glanced at the clock on the wall, which read two minutes to closing.

Nero gave him a slow once-over, eyebrow cocked. "Nah. We close at seven." He waved a hand lazily.

Gjerde nodded, awkwardly shuffling further into the shop, almost tripping on the rug in the process. Meanwhile, Marcus had poked his head out from the back. Nico was with him, on the phone giggling with someone.

"Nico, we got a client. He’s got that 'I might cry in the car' look.”

“They all look like that, Marcus. Sorry, what was that. No, that’s just Marcus. He’s kind of our morality pet.”

“Hey! Wait… who are you talking to?” Nico held a hand up.

“Okay, let me know how it goes. Have fun!” She hung up the phone, “Alright, let’s see what this poor sunovabitch wants.” As she led Marcus out of the back, Lars was already explaining his situation to Nero.

"My daughter… Abigail. She's been missing for—well, for several years now. The police gave up, said it was one of those ‘runaway’ cases. But I know it wasn’t that. Abigail… she got mixed up with the wrong people. People who… dabble in witchcraft. Dark stuff."

Nero leaned forward, resting his arms on the counter, eyes narrowing. "Witchcraft? Dark stuff? That’s pretty vague, pal."

Gjerde swallowed hard, fingers fidgeting with the frayed edges of his jacket sleeve. "I’m not sure what all of it means, but… recently, I heard something. From an old friend. Said she might be on an island—Vie de Marli. Have you heard of it?"

Nico’s eyebrows shot up. "Vie de Marli?”

Nero glanced at her, then back at Lars. "And this ‘friend’—he just so happens to know your daughter’s holed up there? Sounds… convenient."

"He didn’t say she was there for sure, but he saw someone… someone who looked like her," Lars replied, his eyes wide with desperate hope. "I don’t know what else to do. Please, she’s my daughter."

Nero sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Alright, we’ll look into it.”

As if on cue, a voice came from behind them. "Vie de Marli. It’s not a place one travels to lightly."

Marcus yelped as he spun around. There, standing in the shadow of the room, was V. Tall, pale, and unreadable as ever, he leaned casually on his cane, like he'd been there the whole time.

"What the hell?" Marcus sputtered. "Where did you even come from?"

"Better question," Nico added, hand on her hip, "why do you always show up like a damn ghost?”

V ignored them both, his eyes fixed on Nero. " Several hundred years ago, Sparda aided in exorcising an ancient evil known as Argosax The Chaos who was worshipped by a secret tribe of people among the inhabitants of the islands, and was the most malevolent god that ever existed. Sparda used the Arcanas with the help of the Protectors clan to seal the great devil. However, there have been rumors of wrath hidden within."

"Wrath?" Nero repeated. "You think this has to do with the Sins?"

V nodded slowly. "I suspect so. Wrath’s influence has been growing, and if Abigail has been involved in any dark arts, she may have unwittingly crossed into that territory. This is not any rescue mission. It’s a hunt."

Lars, who had been standing in stunned silence, now looked like someone had just poured ice water down his back. "What—what does that mean? What is Wrath?"

Nico shook her head, muttering under her breath, "Don’t worry sir, leave things to the professionals."

Nero glanced over to the map tacked to the wall behind the counter. His eyes flicked over the various pins and notes scrawled across it. One spot stood out—a knife buried deep into the map, marking a point just off the coast of the Americas. Scrawled in red ink next to it: Vie de Marli.

After completing their business with Lars, they informed him that they would keep him updated and he made his way out of the shop. Nero locked the door and flipped the sign to close.

"Dante mentioned something about Vie de Marli before," Nero told the others. "Apparently he has a friend that lives there. Never said much more.”

Marcus chimed in, pulling up some info on his computer. "Vie de Marli… this place is, uh… well, I can’t find much information on it on the web. I’ll call my old man and see if he’s got anything on it. Maybe he knows something about this 'friend' of Dante’s."

Nero nodded. "Good. Get everything you can from Morrison.”

"So… when do we head out?” Nico asked, “'Cause if it’s soon, I need to figure out transport for the van. Also, we might wanna give Corky a heads-up. She’s still in Limbo City, right?"

"Yeah," Nero said, his eyes still fixed on the map. "We’ll need her. She’s just been doing some damage control from the mess we left behind after Mammon."

"And Felix?" Marcus asked, cautiously.

Nero grimaced, a sharp breath leaving him.
