I have been working HARD to get over my knee-jerk fear of spiders. The fact that the spiders we have found the MOST in our home are tan jumping spiders has helped with this a LOT. They are unusually social and chill and... actually ARE pretty darn cute as far as spiders go. SO, since I don't really have a lot of supporting characters in the strip, I decided to kind of bunch up all the spider's we've found into one adorkable jumper.

OK, but can we talk about "Save Summer," specifically Candace's fear of spiders.

One thing that always ticked me off is how Linda was making her feel bad for being afraid of spiders. Stacy seemed to genuinely not understand, considering she got herself hospitalised by sticking her finger in a spider's cage but Linda gave up vibes of mockery and that is a massive red flag.

"Candace Flynn, do not tell me you're still afraid of spiders?"

She is treating arachnophobia like a fear of dark or of spagetti (I used to fear spagetti) despite the fact that it is a very common fear. 4/5 of my siblings have it, and so do most people I know. Idk, it just felt wrong to me. Though I don't actually fear spiders, heck, once I move out, I'm planning on getting a jumping spider. (They are so adowable) as a pet. (So my family won't have to deal with it)

Kudos to Phineas for treating arachnophobia as an actual valid fear, rather than a joke
