Halter Arabian Mare (The Sims 4)
Howdy all!
I have recently gotten into The Sims 4 horse RP, and thus I have started working on some custom content.
Thanks to @minervamagicka, a thoroughbred sculpt I had been working on was able to be baked out and the normal map applied to the horse model. Really excited to continue to collab with her! She has some incredible mods already out for fixes, tack, and more.
After painting some custom coats, making some custom poses, I got to here: a halter Arabian mare posed for showmanship!
I plan on releasing a BUNCH of custom handpainted coats to my gallery, and Minerva and I are planning on making some breed presets. I also plan on making quite a few "confo" poses so that people can start the RP, releasing them through contests or something fun like that.
Hope you enjoy the content from here on out!

Okay. I am really proud of this particular piece. I've been avoiding a brighter rose gray because it's a surprisingly complicated color to get right, and so in the meantime I've been experimenting with varying levels of opacity and depth, especially with grays and roans. But I finally decided to go for it, and after three weeks or so of slowly building up layers and trying out various custom Earth Pigment mixes on another test pony, I'm pretty happy with the results. There's not as much overt dappling as I originally planned, but I can work on that over time. For now, I have my proof of concept, and she is really pretty.
Also, I think the Hartland Grazing Mare is seriously underappreciated. She comes across as a lovely portrait of an Arabian mare, and while the original Hartland company in the 1960s only produced her in a few colors, the Stevens/Paola Groeber era colors were much more varied. The only thing I don't like about the mold is the weirdly blunted tip of the tail, so I sculpted a little extra on to make it look more realistic. I don't recall seeing any aftermarket customs on her (as opposed to the Breyer grazing mare), though they have to be out there. This won't be my last treatment of this mold, though!

Autumn Dartny Equestrian Equestrian Tournament feat. a lot of our horses and riders
The Dartny Equestrian Tournament was a blast! We were so pleased to take part of it as a team. Now that the cold weather is finally getting here and we can exercise the horses without feeling like we're about to cook under the sun and ride around with just as pooped out ponies, everyone's feeling more refreshed. The horses are feeling a lot more fresh and excited to be in a new place, so there was a lot of energy - which we were not complaining about at all, of course. These are just a few of the snippets of our best moments with each rider and their fabulous hooved companions. 1st picture: R&DR Catch 'em Enchanted ridden by Ryleigh Knox; bred by Roan & Dapple Ranch, 2nd picture: WWF Stray Garnet ridden by Jill Gilmore; bred by Willoway Farms, 3rd picture: R&DR Finest of the Bold ridden by Sadie Harken; bred by Roan & Dapple Ranch, 4th picture: R&DR Rebel Heart Ferrari ridden by Morgan Deacon-Belle; bred by Roan & Dapple Ranch, 5th picture: BSH Freckle Foot Shindig ridden by Ryleigh Knox; bred by Beehill Sporthorses, 6th picture: ASA Süßes Gift ridden by Sadie Harken; bred by Azure Stables, 7th picture: R&DR Romantisch Aussehendes Glas ridden by Morgan Deacon-Belle; bred by Roan & Dapple Ranch, 8th picture: PЯ Elfenbeinhitze ridden by Levi Knighte; bred by Paleo Reins.

I looked a long time for a vintage, Traditional/Regal scale Hartland Lady Jewel to customize, and actually managed to procure a few of them! Here’s the first one I’ve finished up, made over into a gorgeous fleabitten gray. She took a LOT of work; if you think vintage Breyer seams are a pain to smooth out, they’re nothing compared to the ridges and canyons that were this girl’s seams. But she turned out beautifully, and she is available at https://www.etsy.com/listing/1372022276/lorelei-hartland-custom-fleabitten-gray

Mare for Sale in Massachusetts
Tumblr media
Firefly is a nine-year-old Arabian mare excelling in dressage and jumping, with three lovely gaits and a standout canter. She is quiet to fences, easy to handle, and suitable for low-level eventing, hunters, or dressage. Best for an advanced beginner or intermediate rider. Requires patience with trailering.

Eventing Breeders Trophy: Leg Five feat. BSH Freckle Foot Shindig and Morgan
After a first successful round on the cross country track (generously provided for the public by CK | True North Equestrian) for the Eventing Breeders Trophy: Leg 5, we were excited to see Morgan riding BSH Freckle Foot Shindig, otherwise known as Stevie around the barn. With Morgan being an experienced and successful cross country rider, we knew for sure she would be able to help Stevie along the way, as this was Stevie's second time competing. Well we were a little wary when Stevie spooked at the sight of a rogue bunny right before the timer was about to begin, but Morgan didn't let it phase her or give in to Stevie's panic episode. When the timer went off, she applied leg and off Stevie went. As the course went on, Stevie seemed to be more sure of her footing and had a new puff in her chest while she continued through. By the end, Morgan was practically holding on for dear life as Stevie got her second wind and seemed to be looking forward to what was around the corner. We're so proud of Stevie for coming out of her shell, and once again to Morgan for being the constantly calm companion of our more dodgey horses.
