" fear not death for the hour of your doom is set and none may escape it. " - volunga saga, c.5
𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒' 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 | As a veteran AR60 player of Genshin Impact, you pride yourself as someone who knows the ins and outs of Teyvat, even studiously completing Spiral Abyss every reset, and having 100% exploration to some, if not all, of the released regions so far. Everything is fun and enjoyable, especially since Sumeru just recently debuted so you still have a lot to do!
All that ends though, when a mysterious passerby pushes you off the building of your university while playing Genshin. But instead of meeting your inevitable end, you find yourself waking up in the very world you were addicted to!
It's supposed to be a fun dream, right? Something you could laugh at when you wake up? Right?! So, why is that you were back in AR1 with nothing but a dull blade in your inventory?!
…well, at least you still have those 700+ sunsettias and mints, Timmie's fowls…and surprisingly similar game mechanics you used to merely see on the screen before. But what should you do now? Flirt with the Genshin men??? Good lords...
"Welcome to Genshin Impact, Dreamer. Here, we can show you a happier ever after you've never had before…so, ready?"
𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 | In which you somehow find yourself tangled in the start of a web of conspiracies and confusion as the threat of the crumple paper of fate led you to a strange path with two equally strange men.
𝐂𝐖 / 𝐓𝐖 | Cursing, possibly ooc Kaveh and Alhaitham, spoilers for Sumeru Archon Quest, let me know if I missed anything <3
𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 | This is a lot harder to write because I established a new plot lmao. And because of Kaveh and Alhaitham it was so hard to write them sjakahs. Also, this was supposed to be posted on Friday last night but I was so tired after a whole day doing god-knows-what outside so I wasn’t able to finish the chapter :( Reblogs and comments are appreciated!
masterlist | route 1: argumentum ad hominem | (alternate route) route 1.1: magister dixit
Apparently, today was simply not your day.
Even before you get the chance to leave the blasted scene you found yourself in, you got stuck in the House of Daena together with two potential suspects of book robbery, one is known for being an academia lunatic and one for being a perfectionist architect. Not that you knew that they would do it, of all people, but at this point, you just did not want to give a damn.
Anyway, flashback almost a week prior after your arrival in Teyvat and before all this crazy fiasco happened, it's not everyday that your rationality won over your desire to earn and farm primogems, you know. It's also a near impossible feat to abandon the quest that could potentially help you advance your AR and even more so in pretending that Cyno is not outside, talking to Tighnari over something you wisely choose not to listen to–lest you might incur more suspicions from the both of them.
Which, in fact, is the last thing you wanted to do.
So, ignoring the questline and the angry red mark of the Paimon Menu, you closed the tab and let yourself fall on the soft bed once again with a dejected sigh. You repeatedly told yourself that this decision was the best course of action and you will have no regrets in this route. Still, you didn’t know how many hours had passed since then–all you somehow perceived is falling asleep, being lulled by the hushed whispers of the people outside and the quiet stillness of the Avidya Forest you grew accustomed to in the past months from behind the screen of your device.
All dreams would soon end. Your hippocampus reminded you, and you agreed. No matter how much this bittersweet reality you found yourself in looks so believable, you couldn’t be far from your own reality…right?
There has to be a way to go back.
That aside, the past four days you spent in Tighnari’s care was far from not being nerve-wrecking, if you were being honest. The fennec therianthrope seems to like hovering around you a lot, fussing like a distressed mother when you do something that he thought would strain your body and passionately lecturing you about the pros of staying in bed while you rest as if you were a poorly disciplined child.
While you admit that he was a great caregiver and it was endearing seeing a former 2D character worries about you despite literally knowing nothing about you, Tighnari’s inevitable tendencies to get lost in his lectures and fussing made your resolve to go back home hardening even more.
Though when the sixth day had passed, you were finally allowed a bit more freedom to roam around. During that time, Tighnari had introduced you to Collei, his student and a trainee forest ranger, and it takes you a lot—and really, a lot—not to bawl your eyes out when you see the green-haired girl. You remember when you used to see Collei in the Genshin manga, she was still so small back then! And now, she is all grown up, cheerful despite her life experiences…and even kind-hearted enough to offer to take you to a visit in Sumeru City along with the other forest rangers to fetch some supplies to stock before the start of the heavy rainy season.
It was also on the sixth day when you found a crumpled paper with the word ᛚᚨᛖᚡᚨᛏᛖᛁᚾᚾ written in all bolds and italics using bright green ink in the folds of your clothes. Although you were weirded out and freaked out why, how and who slipped it there, you decided you did not give a damn about it.
Well, that was until you found another crumpled piece of paper under your pillow when you decided to get dinner with Tighnari and Collei outside. This time, ᚷᛚᛖᛁᛈᚾᛁᚱ was written on it using the same bright green ink.
It doesn't even looked remotely similar to Teyvat's language, as what you've seen in passing when looking at the forest watcher's books on his study table. You have a vague idea what it means, but it was possible that it was one of their ancient languages, too. Since apparently, Alhaitham himself and any other scholars of his Darshan knows at least twenty languages, according to the lore.
But what the hell does it supposed to mean? It gives you the same level of anxiety when you are taking an exam in Foreign Languages. You started to question every motive, every reason why someone would send you, someone not even from this world, a crumpled paper with Earth's Runic inscriptions. Why would they send this to you? Who sent this to you? Do they even know you? A prank, maybe? What do they get from this? What do they want from you?
In any case, you don't want someone out there continuously bullying you, and you don’t have any lawyer here to sue them (unless you count on Yanfei, but that’s beside the point). So, as a last resort, you asked Tighnari if you could join the forest rangers going to Sumeru City because you planned to find your answers, and the possible prankster, in the House of Daena. Plus, you were really itching for a change in scenery!
So, yes, you won't get defeated by the Crumpled Papers of Fate before you could find a way back home!
"—oh, Collei…did I tell you how much I appreciate your existence? How could I cry in reverie for your benevolent acts? Just say the word, and I would do anything for you, you lovely human being."
Collei, probably used to your strange flare for dramatics, giggled in response and tugged your looped arms together. "I just think you need a change of scenery while recovering, and I know Master Tighnari's lectures could be too much sometimes, even if they come in good faith. Especially when you were recu…recu…um, what does he say again?"
"Recuperating?" You wrinkled your nose and Collei modded cheerfully. You can't really blame her for tripping over words, since most of the Genshin characters, especially those with super rich and scholarly background, used to speak formally and use deep words. The first time a curse slip passed your lips about two days ago, you remember seeing Tighnari's scandalous stare as if you offended his whole vocabulary.
It was also a fun way of teasing him. A small payback for all his lectures about flowers and taking care of yourself.
In any case, he begrudgingly allowed you to come see the Sumeru City along with the other forest rangers. It wasn't a long, arduous trek as you expected it to be, despite not using any Teleport Waypoints, maybe because the journey was an eye-opening one (especially when you saw chests and puzzles that you swore you already gotten before) and your group had tried your best from steering clear of any hilichurl or Eremite camps scattered around the forest.
After dropping you off at the Akademiya grounds, Collei and the other forest rangers told you that they will fetch you later after they're done restocking their supplies, you excitedly went inside, hoping to find some sort of lead or help in solving your crumpled paper predicament.
Although Katayoun, the librarian, had adamantly asked for your credentials and permits before she let you borrow any books. Apparently, only students are allowed to have access here, but thankfully, Tighnari gave you a letter that he said would be enough for the librarian to let you inside, should you give it to her.
“—what kind of book do you need, anyhow?” Katayoun finally relented.
“Uh, anything about Teyvat’s ancient language. The one with the alphabet similar to this one, if possible.”
The librarian peered into the two crumpled papers you presented to her, before shaking her head. “Most books about ancient language are strictly available only to students of Haravatat Darshan, and since your permit is from an alumni from Amurta, I apologise if I cannot comply with your request.”
As she said with no room to complain, you had no choice but to pick other possible books to read that were available for you, stomping and frowning in defeat. But just as you sat on a chair in the farthest corner of the grandest library you ever saw in your life (it was even bigger than the one in-game!!), someone walked towards the seat across yours, waving his hand to you to get your attention.
"Hello! Do you mind if I sit here?"
You felt as if you had a sudden epiphany, hearing a familiar voice that made your head snapped to him in surprise. You even almost knocked the pile of books you borrowed earlier when your eyes met a pair of sharp, mystic red irises and a tuft of fluffy-looking dirty blond hair.
You resisted the urge to scream in both panic and excitement as you stiffly shook your head at him. IT'S KAVEH…?!
He coughed to gain your attention. "Ahem, I know it's very unbecoming for a gentleman such as myself but I couldn't help but to…overhear your conversation with our resident lovely librarian earlier. You were looking for books about ancient languages, correct?"
You blinked out of your reverie, slowly nodding at him. "Um, yes. I just need to find some references about…something. Unfortunately, I'm not a scholar from Haravatat to borrow the books I need."
His face lightened up, as if he, too, was hit by epiphany just like you. "Say, Mx…?"
"[Name]..."
"Mx. [Name], did you, perchance, recognise this?" Kaveh fished out something from his pocket and slid it across the table to you. Your eyes widened like saucers when you saw the familiar inscriptions of Runes written into three separate pieces of paper.
"The Crumpled Papers of Fate!" You hissed. "You have it, too?!"
"Yes!" He exclaimed in the same amount of enthusiasm as yours.
"But who the hell sent this?!"
Kaveh shrugged his shoulders elegantly before resting his elbows on the table and leaning close to you. He playfully beckoned you to inch closer as if he's conspiring something with you. "That's what I want to know as well. All I realised is that the Crumpled Paper of Fate is some sort of code that gives us symbolism over something."
Your brows raised in curiosity. "Symbolism?"
"It looks like you got two pieces. Though somehow, I got three." He tapped his gloveless finger on the table, the corner of his mouth turning downwards. "One in my pocket, the other was clipped together with my roommate's book in our living room, and the last was stuck in the door of my room. I even accidentally smack my head—"
"—which proves my point that your eyes are made of marbles if you didn't notice the door in your face."
Both you and Kaveh almost jumped from your seats when a deep voice spoke from behind you. Your jaw dropped when you caught sight of the Akademiya's Grand Scribe pulling the chair on your right side before getting himself comfortable on it, placing the books he held on his hands on the table with a soft thud.
WHAT IS ALHAITHAM DOING HERE THIS TIME?!
You were near hyperventilating near two handsome—and former 2D—dudes that was now glaring at each other. Well, more like Kaveh killing Alhaitham with his glares because the Scribe just leisurely opened his book and crossed his legs, seemingly adamant in ignoring his roommate.
And just like every playable character you met so far, and even the NPCs themselves, these two looked so human and real to someone from a game. The finer details from their designs and splash arts were more highlighted and even the contours in their faces are too detailed to be true.
Your eyes briefly glanced at the scribe's arm, and you inwardly whistled in amusement. Wow, those muscular arms could crush my skull. Lololol.
"Oi, Alhaitham! What in Teyvat are you doing here?" Kaveh asked in irritation, his former cool-ish aura vanishing in the instant.
He ignored Kaveh, his light turquoise eyes, highlighted with orange pupils, looked at you for a second and your breath hitched at its intensity. "...I overheard you two talking about the ancient scriptures and codes from the crumpled papers."
Your brows furrowed. "Huh…do you guys have something for eavesdropping or something?"
He ignored you, too, and fished out three very familiar pieces of paper and slid it together with yours and Kaveh's. "....I suppose this is the reason why you want to borrow books of ancient languages, no? I will give you a hint. All of our papers are written in Runic inscriptions."
"Yeah, yeah, you the great scribe of the Akademiya from the Haravatat Darshan surely knows what it means." Kaveh said, sarcasm lacing his tone like a venom.
You grew more curious. "Where did you find yours?"
"Does it matter?"
You tried again. "And what does the Runic mean?"
"Kaveh's Crumpled Paper of Fate means Ship, Blind, Light—which is rather suspicious, especially given that Kaveh found one of his papers in my book." Alhaitham said in a matter-of-fact tone, tapping his said book, that made Kaveh rolled his eyes in exasperation.
"As a matter of fact, the only suspicious thing about that book," the architect scoffed. "...is that it's being held by a drama queen."
The last thing I remember, Kaveh's Vision is Dendro, not Pyro. Lol.
Alhaitham gave an unimpressed, humourless stare at his roommate's spiteful words and you tried suppressing your laughter, remembering Alhaitham's Oscar-like performance in the Archon Quest.
"Anyhow, back to the topic before someone rudely interrupted me. Mine was translated to Eye, Knowledge and Ravens."
"But what does mine—"
You suddenly halted when a loud thump echoed across the library, and then there's screaming. Before you knew it, several Matra of the Akademiya flooded across the room, startling everyone who was inside.
"A book robbery took place in the library's restricted section. Everyone that stayed in the House of Daena between six in the morning until now, we are expecting your cooperation."
So, that's what happened to your supposedly peaceful morning. You were suddenly caught in the apparent book robbery in the restricted section, and you heard the General Mahamatra was going to interrogate every single person that the Matra caught.
This is not freaking good.
The prospect of meeting Cyno should be wonderful, right? BUT NO. You were on the receiving end of his job right now. And it's not even close to thrilling at all knowing the side of Cyno working that you honestly, do not wish to know.
Well, at least Kaveh and Alhaitham were with you right now. Though with the way they were bickering nonstop, you suddenly wished you could tell them to shut up.
"Theory number ten," Alhaitham muttered to himself; he was sitting so comfortably beside you as if they weren't on your way to the interrogation room.
"You seriously reached theory ten with your nonsense?" Kaveh bited.
The scribe fished out a notebook from who-knows-where, looking for something. You tried to peek a little, but his muscular arms were in the way and it's embarrassing to inch closer when they didn't even bother introducing themselves to you. "It's possible that whoever sent this has the connection with the three of us—or at least, knows us to some extent. Perhaps wanting to measure our intelligence? For what?"
"Isn't that already obvious?" His roommate impatiently said. "[Name] got their Crumpled Paper of Fate in their own home, we got ours in your dorm, which by the way, only the two of us have access to. Whoever did this surely knew us pretty well."
"This is the reason why you didn't pass in anything other than your courses in Kshahrewar." Alhaitham said. "You always assume things."
"Excuse me, I'm not assuming. I am concluding!" He defended, apparently offended.
"Then don't jump into conclusions even if that's the only workout you do."
"Why you—"
As much as their banter was so amusing to watch, there are more pressing matters you had to know. "But that's impossible. I don't know anyone in this place aside from the Forest Rangers in the Avidya Forest, you know. It's nearly impossible that Tighnari and Collei would do this just to prank us. Though, I always had someone with me, so it's not possible that someone I don't know snuck into my room either…"
"You seem like you always have a witness with you?" Kaveh turned to you.
Alhaitham paused for a second. He blinked slowly, before a subtle smirk slowly pulled from the corner of his lips. "That's it."
"Huh?"
He stood up from his seat. "A witness." He vaguely replied before he went through the door faster than you could blink.
You and Kaveh stared at the door.
Then you two realised what Alhaitham just did.
"Oi, he just ran off without us!" Kaveh exclaimed in anger before tugging your hand to follow his roommate outside. "[Name], let's go before the Matra catches us!"
What in the world did you got yourself into?
Route 1.2.1: Stop Kaveh from escaping. You had a feeling that escaping isn't a good thing, especially since Cyno would probably hunt you down later. What's there to fear when you're innocent, no?

2021 ✨ chay’s writing year in review
well! 2021 certainly has been one of the years i’ve experienced. but besides *gestures vaguely* everything, 2021 unexpectedly turned out to be a breakthrough year for me in writing.
☆ STATISTICS.
total words written: 168 623
monthly word average: 14 052
projects worked on: the Andromeda trilogy, some other side stuff i didn’t get too invested in, and, uh, yeah it’s pretty much been AR brainrot all year
☆ HIGHLIGHTS.
finishing 2 drafts
writing like 20 fluffy, purely self-indulgent drabbles for like a month
(this one is my favourite)
i wrote a space shanty back in april??? ngl i almost forgot about that. it feels like ages ago
☆ A FEW COMMENTS.
after a drought of about 5 years where i was in perpetual unfinished project hell, the fact that i finished something is still so wild to me, let alone TWO somethings. and to think what it took for me to unblock was throwing my characters into space and being as self-indulgent about it as possible.
i’ve also finally accepted that i am truly a plantser at heart. i USED to be a plantser back before reading writing advice posts and getting caught up in trying to be a planner and worrying about every little detail of the story that by the time i was actually writing i just wasn’t having fun discovering my story. and as my characters often surprise me as i’m writing and sabotage my outline (not naming names, AZAMI BLACK-MIZUHARA), having no rigid outline for them to sabotage in the first place gave me at least an illusion of control over them.
actually, THE thing that i would consider the secret to my success this year is to allow myself to NOT write. especially with a relatively new job to stress me out, i couldn’t afford to burn myself out by forcing myself to write every day. maybe 2016!Chay could pound out a 40K novella in a month but 2021!Chay needed new ways to work.
i compiled some little spreadsheets and graphs to track my writing process. my daily average for AR1 was 453 words and 420 words (nice) for AR2, spread over about 5 and a half months for each draft. i very rarely wrote more than 1000 words in one day, and there were MANY days where i would just not write at all. sometimes i wouldn’t write for days on end, and it was hard, feeling like i HAD to be writing, being scared maybe this was it and i wouldn’t be able to write ever again, but knowing i needed to be resting. those rough patches always ended eventually and my writing was better off for it.
what i’m trying to say is, once i figured out what worked for ME, my writing flourished.
☆ 2022 GOALS.
i am SO tempted to be like “to finish AR3′s first draft” but i’m not gonna put that kind of pressure on myself.
my goal for the next year is just to continue working at my own pace and being patient with myself. if it takes ten years to finish AR3, so be it. it’ll be better than if i crash and burn trying to finish it all at once.
that being said i’m gonna start writing AR3 tomorrow because new year new draft and i have nearly nothing planned for it so far besides self-indulgence so wish me luck!!!!!
☆ IN CONCLUSION.
i want to thank everyone who’s been following my writing journey this year, who has read and reblogged my stuff and left nice comments, who has helped me untangle the knots in my plot or witnessed my many crises and breakdowns on discord and encouraged me through it all. not to be a cliche but i seriously wouldn’t have been able to do it all without you. i wish you all the very best in this upcoming year 💕
below, have those sexy graphs i was talking about, because i’m a slut for graphs and i couldn’t resist showing them off.
AR1:
notice the dip in activity in february when i was working on FinnPetra Fluff February. and also that one tall bar on very last day when i went absolutely ham LMAO
AR2:
i feel like for this one i was wildly swinging between “writing a shitton in one day” and “haven’t written in a week”. consistency? never heard of her.
☆ GENERAL TAGLIST. ask to be +/-.

Meeting
-You did not meet this man in the best way
-You probably met him in the killing game, while you were exploring
-No but the only way I can imagine you meeting him is smelling smoke from a cigarette
- 3/10 meeting imo
———
You had woken up a few hours ago, everything was spinning in your head. You were stuck on a island, and You don’t even know where!
You snapped out of your thoughts as you smelt smoke. Was something on fire?! But you followed it just incase. But instead you found a man (that looks like he sells some ”bad powder“).
You stood there, not knowing what to say (heheheh introvert) but he soon noticed you. “You want one? It’ll cost ya,” He said.
You accepted/declined
——
Cuddling
-Like most say, He smells like cigarettes
-Wait is that slight scent of blood I smell?
-If your sensitive to smells, you probably got nausea
- 2/10 smells
——
You were gathering some money knowing how Syobai/Shobai is. You have wanted to cuddle him for a bit now but you knew you had to pay up. It was perfect timing and Shobai/Syobai wasn’t busy. How rare.
”Hey sho/syo, how would it be if you were to let me hug you?,” You asked. He ended up chucking a bit, “Listen here, if you want too, pay up.”

My #1 post of 2022
You have a hot singer gf and show it off to her dad
+Fem reader
•sorry my dudes, uta needs a hot gf too ok
+Uta (one piece)
+One piece film red spoilers
+Warnings: Cursing, slightly suggestive? I’m a minor so no people actually doing the deed
+Short but I don’t write one piece So NO ONE PIECE REQUESTS (this is the only exception)
•-•••••••••••••••-•
First off, you are one lucky girl. Will you be spared from the concert? Maybe if you convince her too with sweet flirts and enough kisses. Yeah, she loves you a lot but she wants you to have a special paradise too! Well, just don’t explicitly say that you don’t think this is a good idea. Because you might end up like the strawhats (besides luffy) but not with the humiliation. You’re her girlfriend! Not a pirate!
You trying to convince her is probably one of the hardest things to do..
• “Babe, can I not go into your paradise?”
• “Huh? Why?”
• “Aha.. well.”
• “Is it because my concert is not going to be fun enough?!”
• “No! I just want to.. protect you from marines!”
• “Oh y/n, you know at my concert, everyone is equal!”
• “Yes but that won’t stop me from loving you”
Something like that but when Uta is about to stab the Strawhat and luffy in the real world, you’re there. You will support your girlfriend! No matter how insane she is and subtly trying to inch her back to sanity. But thats how you met shanks.
Not a good start because of how much trauma Uta holds and tells you. So when she’s stopped, you’re kinda just staring. Yes you might be tall but 6”6 tall? No. But when your girlfriend starts making the sleeping people attack, you join in. Mainly aiming for shanks.
I mean, wasn’t he the reason for her trauma? Like he exploded Elegia and left uta while partying. She needed so many kisses and cuddles after she told you! But you didn’t expect him to be quite strong to hold like multiple people..
But yes he noticed you were awake so you decided to spill the beans.
• “I fucked your daughter”
Wwhiiiich caught him off guard. It was sudden and now he knows his daughter has a girlfriend whom she loves a lot…
So what do you do? Brag about it!
• “Yeah she’s so pretty!”
• “She’s like supperrr good at you know what”
• “I kissed her before you came here
• “She sang a song ab-“
you were interrupted by someone saying “WE GET IT!-“

My most popular post is an joking anti post that has almost 7,000 notes. Which makes me happy because that means that a lot of people are anti-j//ar1e//y. But then I remember that there’s a bunch of comments on the post that are “anti anti” (aka pro) and I don’t know how many people reblogged/liked the anti post vs the pro comments.
#sigh#it just kills me whenever i see the notifications for it#like all my other popular posts are just panels or fun#and not controversial in any way#and im not active in discourse besides just joking#so i dont want to respond to anything

𝐅𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄.
𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝐈 : 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐀 𝐈𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐀 𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐀. ( the die is cast )
𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐄 𝐈 : 𝐀𝐑𝐆𝐔𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐔𝐌 𝐀𝐃 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐄𝐌. ( argument against the man )
" the only impossible journey is the one you never begin. " - tony robins.
𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 | In which your utter disappointment with your game progress (or regression) cause you to trigger a new quest? Is this a chance you should take? And Tighnari told you that humans are often more predictable, however, you're an odd one out.
𝐂𝐖 / 𝐓𝐖 | Cursing, hasty confession (but not really?), tighnari is getting suspicious of you, rightfully so lol. Let me know if I missed anything <3
𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 | I don't know if I should post the route 1 and 2 at the same time but...eh...let me know what u think! Reblogs and comments are appreciated!
masterlist | prologue: that love is a fallacy | (alternate route) route ii: argumentum ad ignorantiam
For your own sake, you logically decided to remain still inside Tighnari's house. Your body was still aching all over, even though the Therianthrope had meticulously treated your wounds well—which you guessed was from your fall with him—it also doesn't leave the fact that you felt even more tired than when you were reviewing for your exams every night.
Well, that would be the first reason. The other is that you were still in shock—and denial—at what the hell is happening right now. Tighnari was real, you could see and touch him in the flesh, and you can't be mistaken that that person isn't him because you know it's him by the amount of shameless staring and gushing you did with his soft-looking ears and tail during his first banner and in his idles.
So, yes…if you were indeed get isekai'd in Genshin Impact, one question still begs to be answered. A lot, to be honest, but for now, you were still not accepting this reality wholeheartedly.
"M…Maybe I just misclicked it or something. That's right, I probably just misread it." You tried reasoning to yourself, a little desperate, before closing the hologram screen. After you take a lungful of breaths, you shakily pat your chest once, and the screen appears before you again.

"NOOOOO!!!" You wailed loudly, almost thrashing your feet in the bed as you animatedly heard the cracking ice and booming volcanoes in your head, goading and laughing at your misery. "...my AR60 account, my characters…I grind so hard for them…for two years…"
Almost in tears, you gulped shakily as your eyes travelled down to the Inventory tab, tapping it only to groan in utter disappointment when ALL of your precious weapons were gone! Every. Single. One. Of them! Not even a trusty Prototype Rancour or a Harbinger of Dawn! All of them are gone except for that damn LVL1 Dull Blade!
"I can't believe this…all of my hard work…" You sniffed and stiffly tapped the icon of the Dull Blade, and to your surprise, the weapon suddenly appeared in front of you. "Woahhh—!" Its sharp blade almost grazes your skin. you manage to grab its hilt in time but you almost dropped it when its unexpected weight almost crushed you. "This is so heavy!"
Before you hurt yourself further with the Dull Blade, you immediately unequipped the sword and switched the tab to the Artifacts, and just as you dreadily expect, it was also empty. All your precious five stars artifacts are gone so suddenly. The CD Items, Quest Items, Gadgets, Furnishings and Precious Items tab are as empty as your soul when you were done checking.
With a shake of your head, you console yourself with the fact that at least some of the Materials (like the local specialties) and Food (sunsettias, starshrooms and apples) were still as high as you remember.
After some time glaring at your nearly emptied inventory, you closed the tab completely, glossing over the Map in disappointment (which was, by the way, the Teleport Waypoints or Statue of the Seven were still locked, even the ones in Mondstadt and Liyue), and the Quest Menu is still empty.
As for the other ones, if you remember correctly, the Wish and Shop were unlocked when you reached AR5. While the Character Archive would be available only when you get Amber to be playable—which you think is impossible for now considering you were in Sumeru and Mondstadt is like…a nation away.
This is all so depressing. Add to the fact that you don't know how to return to your world, almost all of your trusted resources, a chance of survival, is gone.
A few moments later, Tighnari arrived with your medicine and he raised his brow when he saw you sulking in the farthest corner of the bed. "What happened to you? Do you feel any pain somewhere?"
You gaze soullessly at him. "My hard work vanished along with my determination to live."
He rolled his eyes. "Okay, drink this medicine and let's get you back to bed." You lamely took the green pill the Therianthrope gave you, toss it on your mouth and immediately gulped the glass of water he offered.
"Blegh!" You almost choked at the bitter taste and Tighnari offered you another glass of water, which you gladly took.
"I apologise if my concotion is too bitter for your taste. On the bright side, its effectiveness could be trusted." He said in a matter-of-fact tone, though the light twiched of his ears and the swish of his tail tells you that he found your reactions amusing.
"I know, I believe you—uh, what?."
Tighnari was staring at you like you grown two heads. "Hmm. Well, curious how you just swallow that thing without asking me what it was or checking to see if its something dangerous. Even though you appear to know me, you should've been more careful."
It looks like he was about to lecture you about safety and stuff so you immediately replied. "...Dunno, maybe because I don't think you have any reason to poison me after helping and patching me up? Plus, I know your reputation, your talents and your dedication to help. Poisoning me is something against your principles."
"That's true," the Therianthrope looked thoughtful, his green-olive eyes staring down at you intently. "However, humans tend to be a little more cautious about this, you know, which makes them quite predictable. And speaking of which, you appear to know me, but I never have the chance to ask yours. I believe introductions are overdue?"
"Oh, uh…I'm [Name]. Hehehe. Sorry again for all the trouble, Tighnari." You said gratefully. For a moment, you wonder if he would recognised your name. Well, you don't even know if this Tighnari is the same as the Tighnari you were playing before. And even if he was, he probably wouldn't recognised your real name since you were using a Username instead.
Speaking of which…
WHERE IS YOUR PHONE?! AND YOUR BACKPACK?
Before you could ask what befall your other stuff, Tighnari cut you off. He was looking at you curioisly, never hostile but you could see his guard was up, his tail tensing a little. "...I believe myself to have a decent memory, and I'm confident I never seen you before. How did you know my name?"
How could you tell him he was a video game character you were playing before you die?!
Yeah, no. As if he would believed you. He might've thought you were losing your last braincells and even send you to Bimarstan for real this time.
Quick, [Name], just throw any excuse you could find! Your hippocamus was internally panicking along with you.
"...I KNOW BECAUSE I LOVE YOU—" you blurted out in a frenzy before you realised what you said. Your eyes widened, as shock as him. "I mean, I love your ears and tail! I don't love you as in you, since you're not rea—wait…that will sounds wrong. But not that way—ugh!"
Before you could dug a hole to hide your embarassment, Tighnari's ears perked up as he glance outside the door. At the same time, the hologram of the Paimon Menu suddenly appeared in front of you. A blue exclamation mark marking the Quest tab made you do a double take.
Did you just triggered a World Quest with whatever nonesense you just said?
The Fox and the Jackal

Go with Tighnari to see Cyno.
Quest Chain Rewards: 250 Adventure EXP, 150 Character EXP, 20 Primogems, 5 Adventurer's Experience.
HOLY SHIZNITS—Wait, WHAT? Isn't this going a bit too fast? Why is Cyno suddenly coming here?! Why do you have to go see him, too?
And damn, whoever is the mastermind of all this is tempting you with those delicious rewards—
Route 1.1: Beg Tighnari to let you come to him and see Cyno. After all, you desperately need those primogems rewards to level up your AR. Plus, you were curious what he looks like, too.
Can you even refuse if those primogems are waving hello at you?

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 | In which you choose to do the World Quest that requires you to meet Cyno, the General Mahamatra himself that leads to a more confusing and maybe…a bit more hopeful ending?
𝐂𝐖 / 𝐓𝐖 | Cursing, Cyno threatening you, mention of injuries but nothing too graphic, spoilers to Sumeru Archon Quest and maybe spoilers in general shskaha. No beta we die like teppei so you would def see grammatical errors. Let me know if I missed anything <3
𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 | I think this route will probably be my most favorite of them all xD probably because Cyno and Tighnari are here lmao. Reblogs and comments are appreciated!
masterlist | prologue: that love is a fallacy | route 1: argumentum ad hominem | (alternate route) route 1.2: argumentum petitio principii
Try as you might to resist the temptation of primogems, your will is as weak and soulless as your AR1 account. Though you didn’t know if the Wish System here works the same as the one in your game, it wouldn’t hurt to be prepared just in case. Plus, you were really curious to see what the General Mahamantra looked like in real life. Tighnari himself looked so real and so unlike his 3D self, so you choose to accept the World Quest that popped out of nowhere.
Although your caretaker didn’t seem to agree with you in the slightest. “No,” he simply said with a slight frown before tugging you down to the bed when you tried to stand. “You still haven’t fully recovered, you lummox. And you can’t be serious in meeting that man looking…like that.”
The therianthrope then gave a brief glance at your clothes before rolling his eyes. When you looked down, you realised you were still wearing your school uniform. And so unlike how these Sumeru—or even any of the Genshin—characters intricately dressed themselves. You won't even pass as a scholar of Academia even if you say so with your getup!
It was as if Tighnari was telling you 'you would look even more suspicious in the eyes of the General Mahamatra if you meet him as you are now'. But, no! First of all, you are a certified Cyno simp, and second, you need to do the World Quest for Freemogems. You knew Tighnari was worried you might do something stupid to incur the General's ire, but if you remember Cyno’s lore in-game and how between his reputation and his own personality as what others believed greatly differs, you choose to make a gamble.
Tighnari was probably thinking you were some sort of mad scholar that Cyno was hunting or some random madman, but you knew better. Afterall, you were nearly certain Cyno wouldn't hurt you (since you weren't even a Sumeru scholar or anything that broke the rules) so he probably won't bat an eye on you that much. He would be suspicious, yes, but you have to convince them that you mean no harm.
Yeah, that's a plan! You braved yourself, excited at the prospect of meeting one of your favourite characters.
“By the way, Tighnari,” you called him, suddenly remembering something important that you should’ve asked him earlier. “Do you know the….uh, Traveller? The outlander?”
He gave you a puzzled expression. “If you were talking about yourself, then yes, I suppose I know you just now. However, judging from your expression, you were referring to a different person, no?”
You blinked, inching close to him. “I mean, the Traveller! You know…the Honorary Knight of Mondstadt? The Hero of Liyue? Swordfish Captain of Watatsumi Island? First Sage of Buer?...Seriously?!”
“Who in the name of the Seven are you talking about?”
Judging from Tighnari’s genuine confused expression, he really has no idea who you were referring to. Which means…“Holy shit…the game hasn’t started yet,” you almost choked at this realisation.
But if the Mondstadt Archon Quest hasn't really started yet, does this mean that the Traveller was still trapped in their sleep? Or it's possible that Paimon was still teaching them speech at this time? Tighnari himself is already a Forest Watcher, which means that this timeline isn't that far from the start of the game. Right?
Plus, Cyno looked like he's still the General Mahamatra, in contrast to his self-exile during the Sumeru Archon Quest. Meaning, it was possible that he was still loyal to the Academia rules and its Sages, and if he does have his suspicions now regarding the Grand Sage…
Good lord. This would be more difficult to handle.
First things first, you need to meet Cyno and follow the Quest Chain. Hopefully, these random quests that popping in your Quest Menu would lead to something that could help you go back to your world.
Well, who am I kidding? Even Hoyoverse themselves said they don't plan to have an endgame yet. You scoffed.
Anyhow! Onto the Quest!
It was truly a Spartan feat for you to convince Tighnari that yes, you were fine now, and yes, you wanted to go out of this confinement and meet the man of your Quest. He even becomes frighteningly insistent that you stay in bed for a few more hours but eventually, it was all thanks to an NPC Forest Ranger whose name you can't remember calling out to him that gave you the chance to escape by diving through the door.
While Tighmari was certainly faster and physically stronger than you are, your will and determination to get the primogems and meet Cyno is stronger than him.
"What the fu—!?"
But in your careless hurrying, you accidentally trip and literally flew down the remaining steps of Tighnari's hut. You grunted in pain as your elbow grazed down the balustres. When you looked ahead, you saw the tip of someone's toes in front of you.
You slowly looked up, frowning, your eyes met a familiar pair of cold crimson ones. Your stomach did quick flips, and your heart nearly burst out of your chest in surprise. You didn't expect to land pathetically in front of the man you want to see today—literally!
"You…" Cyno started, looking down at you as his red eyes flashing dangerously. "...Who are you?"
"—And I specifically told you to stay in bed, but what did you do? You ran off on your own, got yourself more bruises, and had the wounds I treated to open. You even had the audacity to say you’re alright to my face–”
"Master Tighnari, I think they had enough…"
"Oh? Well, I do think they were pretty enthusiastic about listening to my lectures.”
“Bastard, do I look like I did? Ow!”
Tighnari, who was looking all smug at you, flicked your forehead after he finished tending to your injuries once again. Curse his supersonic hearing even though you were just whispering your complaints under your breath.
Beside you, Collei attempted to calm you down by patting your back. The girl was truly a blessing, and she's been very kind to you the moment she saw you tumbling on the ground from her Master's hut. Additionally, she looks even cuter in person; you almost want to squish her cheeks.
On the other hand, sitting at the far side of the room was the General Mahamatra himself staring intently at you like a guard dog. You tried ignoring the prickles at your skin, the lump forming at your throat at the intense way he was looking. His crimson eyes were scorching deep, as if trying to discern all the secrets you've been hiding from them. And from the way his expression shifted from nonchalance to wariness the moment he saw you, you knew that lying wasn't a safe option.
It wasn't like you were here to cause trouble! Or break rules! You're as confused as them, if not more, so you really have nothing to fear!
"—considering that you were now cheerful enough to dive out on your own accord when I clearly told you not to, I believe it's safe to assume that you don't have any lingering concussion from your fall. Though I suggest you stay for a few more days so I could monitor your condition—unless you want to stay in Bimarstan, that is…are you listening to me, [Name]?"
Your eyes snapped away from Cyno to look at the Forest Watcher, who was looking at you in exasperation. "Wait, I don't have any Mora on me for treatment! Besides, these wounds aren't all that serious, they could heal themselves in time."
Unfortunately, your million Mora was gone along with all of your stuff in Inventory. Damn it.
"Mx. [Name], we don't charge payment to our patients, so don't worry about that!" Collei chipped beside you. "And when it comes to treating others, my Master is one of the best! So, you can trust him, I assure you."
Your smile becomes crooked. "That's not exactly what I'm worried about…"
Tighnari wisely ignored the both of you and turned to Cyno, crossing his arms. "And how about you? To whom do we owe the General Mahamatra a visit?"
Cyno glances at you in a calculating way before looking back at his friend.
"I…uh, could step out for a bit so you guys could talk in private?" You offered, hesitant.
"No need," Cyno immediately declined, for some very odd reason. "I do not intend to keep this a secret anyway, and this peculiar discovery is not part of my job as a Matra—unless it starts to pose a problem to Sumeru as a whole. But for now, any kind of opinion regarding this subject is very much appreciated as much as it was a personal request from me."
"Now, this is weird." Tighnari muttered, sending him a meaningful glance. "Is this about the suspicious domain we discovered in Dharma Forest the other day?"
Your ears perked up. Domain in Dharma Forest? Wait…don't tell me…?
Cyno nodded stiffly. "Yes, I managed to open the domain today. Inside was some kind of mechanism that opens a time trial challenge that requires me to defeat some Eremites. Then, out of sheer curiosity, I tried revitalising the petrified tree inside. It then gave me this…"
Your eyes widened like saucers when you saw what materialised in Cyno's hand. You couldn't believed what you were seeing right now!
"Is this…some kind of flower? Its appearance looked similar to the Fetid Boughs in Withering Zones but…" Tighnari inspected the 'flower' with furrowed brows. "It doesn't have the same effects. It even looked remotely harmless to me."
"Exactly my thoughts." Cyno agreed. "Since you were used to dealing with Withering Zones and this item bears resemblance, I assumed you would know what this is."
The therianthrope shrugged his shoulders. "This is the first time I had seen this kind of…thing, in all honestly, so I have no idea. Have you tried asking the Sages? Surely, they could provide a reliable answer than myself."
After a few moments of silence, the General clearly hesitated, pursing his lips. Tighnari sighed in defeat, but an understanding smile crossed his expression. "Alright, I get it. No need to ask the Sages. This is a…personal business afterall."
"This is an Artifact," you said absentmindedly. "Though I have no idea if this is a four star or a five star artifact…"
No wonder why your Original Resin was 140/160 when you checked it earlier! It's because Cyno unknowingly used it on a Domain without knowing what it truly was.
Collei, who was silently listening to her elders patiently, looked at you in confusion. "...Artifacts? You know what that is, Mx. [Name]?"
Both of the scholars looked at you in interest.
You scracted your neck, debating whether to tell them about the in-game stuff or made something up. Though you quickly ruled out the latter. Lying wouldn't do any good especially since Cyno could easily tell if you do. It would be safer to be on their good graces instead of making them more suspicious of you.
"Uh…well, this is a part of an Artifact set of Gilded Dreams. And this particular piece is known as a Flower of Life, named as Dreaming Steelbloom." You explained, your expression sour as if you swallowed a lemon. You thank the Archons that there were days you were bored and resinless enough to read actual lore inside those artifacts!
"You said this flower is just a piece of a whole set, yes? Which means there are other pieces out there?" Tighnari curiously asked.
You nodded animatedly. "Yeah. There are five pieces each set. The Flower of Life, the Plume of Death, Sands of Eon, Goblet of Eonothem and the Circlet of Logos. They could be found in the same domain as the one you got this from. There are another set of artifacts you can get in that domain, too—the Deepwood Memories."
"And what can these artifacts do, exactly?" Cyno's shoulders tensed, waiting for your answer with a glare. He looked absolutely terrifying as if you didn't answer him truthfully, he would drag you across the desert before he reenacted his punishment for you.
"Oh, um, well…" You nervously blinked and you really tried your best to explain the purpose of artifacts, how they work, and even about their set bonuses. As scholars of the Academia that runs on logic and explanation of stuff, you don't freaking know if they even believed your crap, but at least you were telling the truth?
When you were done, you were extremely out of breath so Collei—bless her soul—kindly gave you a drink to clear your parched throat.
"—But the artifacts domains are absolute trash that runs on pure RNG luck." You muttered angrily, remembering the months you spend on domains crying in frustration just to get trash artifacts. "It would be a miracle to get good stats, and even purer divine intervention for them to roll on what you actually need. Tch."
The three of them shared a look. "I have no idea what an RNG is and what stats are you talking about, but if I guessed correctly with what you said," Tighnari paused, hands on his hips in contemplation. "There are other…artifact domains there are, and not just the one we discovered in Dharma Forest, correct?"
You nodded. "Yeah, but as of now, other artifact domains are located in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma. The other domains I know that were available in Sumeru are the Talent Level-up and Weapon Ascension Domains…though I don't know if they would exist right now."
"What do you mean?" Cyno asked, his eyes narrowing.
Because my Map is not working right now! You cried inwardly, but you just shrugged at him.
"[Name], I'm curious about one thing," Tighnari mused, his ears twitching. "Judging from your expressions, and since Cyno hasn't stopped you yet, you must be telling the truth. But how did you know about all of this artifact stuff in the first place? I'm certain there are no books in the House of Deana about the things you just said, so all of this are new to me, and I could say the same for our General here—which is saying something."
If Cyno himself is not familiar with how these artifacts work, then how did you know? Tighnari seems to ask silently.
"Um," you shifted to your seat uncomfortably, aware of the three pairs of eyes watching your movements like a hawk—or a guard dog. "I…can't tell. At least not yet."
Collei's jaw dropped. "But why?"
"Because the knowledge tied to these artifacts could cause unwanted chaos should it fall in the wrong hands. And I'm sure you, as scholars of Academia, know how dangerous knowledge of the unknown could be, right?" You groaned. "So, please, just until I figure out stuff I need to do, I should keep as much knowledge as possible. But believe me! I really meant no harm!"
Cyno stood up from his seat and approached you, his crimson eyes narrowed into crescents. "You…do realised that once the Academia knew about this, they could force us Matra to interrogate you whether you 'figured out stuff' or not, right? This is a dangerous gamble you were taking, outlander."
At his silent threats, chills run down to your spine and goosebumps rose from your skin. But to his mild surprise, you persevere and decide to meet his cold gaze headon. "You won't do that."
"What makes you say that so confidently? You must be aware of my position in the Academia, and the power I hold." He challenges again.
You shook your head, scoffing. "Yes, but you were doubting the Academia now, right, General? Otherwise you would report that 'suspicious domain' to the Sages instead of going to Tighnari for help. Even more so about asking our opinions, especially me who you barely know."
You realised this earlier. Even though the 'game' timeline hasn't started yet, or at least, the Archon Quest of Sumeru is not yet happening, Cyno had his suspicions about the Academia already. His loyalty was starting to falter (or in better terms, his own sense of justice is being tested by the same people he served), and he wasn't sure if he could still trust them with an unknown discovery, so in his confused state, he had gone to see one of his most trusted confidants—which is this Fennec Fox therianthrope here.
This is where you were confident. Cyno, as his lore in-game said, would only hunt those who rulebreakers of the Academia. And only a few of them were even more worthy of his visit.
Though you weren't quite sure if your knowledge about 'artifacts' would be considered as 'getting his interest'. In any case...
His emotionless eyes looked more of orange than red up-close, and it was beautiful despite them glaring at you.
"Okay, that's enough for you two." Tighnari holds his hands up tiredly and gently pushes Cyno away from scaring you further. "We will not question you for now about the origins of these artifacts, then. Just be aware that Cyno might not feel the same as I do, but rest assured I'll talk to him later." He rolled his eyes.
The young man huffed, crossing his arms before ignoring his remarks. "In any case, we need to investigate these other domains. And you…are coming with us."
"What." You deadpanned.
Tighnari ignored you, too. "I agree. These domains might pose a threat later, so it's much safer to conduct investigation as much as possible as the first ones who discovered them. And we need to prepare a lot of things if the other domains have challenges awaiting for us as well."
"Wait—!"
"It would be best if we split up. It'll save us some time covering all areas in the desert and the rainforest tracking their location." Cyno added thoughtfully, glancing at you. "It's best if I take this person with me. I could keep an eye on them and their actions well enough if were together."
"Hey, stop ignoring me—!"
"Are you seriously planning to drag them across the desert?" Tighnari gave him a disgusted look. "They were better off with me in the rainforest. Besides, they were still injured. They needed to rest first."
"Oi, does my opinion don't matter here at all?"
As the two scholars banter back and forth about who you should go with, the Paimon Menu lit up again. And you saw Quest Complete at The Fox and the Jackal World Quest. Followed by a series of rewards that went tumbling down your Inventory when you checked.

OMG! YOU'RE FINALLY OUT OF THE AR1 JAIL! Is this for real?!
But before you could celebrate your apparent victory, a new quest suddenly appeared again. And this time…it was quite different than the others you've seen before.
"Huh…?" Your jaw dropped when you read its contents.

𝐅𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐈𝐄𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄.
𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝐈 : 𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐀 𝐈𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐀 𝐄𝐒𝐓𝐀. ( the die is cast )
𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐄 𝐈𝐈 : argumentum ad ignorantiam. ( argument from ignorance )
" real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance. " - confucius
𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 | In which you find yourself mysteriously waking up in Liyue after running away from Tighnari. Now, two of Liyue's Big Three are hot on your tails, determined to find answers out of you.
𝐂𝐖 / 𝐓𝐖 | Cursing, fainting, Xiao threatening you, a fungi attacked you? Lmk if I missed anything!
𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 | I decided to finished writing the alternate bigger route first instead of the branching narratives in route 1. This route might go a bit more insane-ish and action packed because reader is gonna end up in Liyue...👀👀 and this route is a lot more difficult to write that the first one ngl 🤡 i scraped a lot of ideas and maybe shed a tear or two /j anyhow, reblogs and comments are always appreciated!
masterlist | prologue: that love is a fallacy | (alternate route) route i: argumentum ad hominem
It took almost all your willpower and strength to get yourself out of the bed. Your mind is racing with a lot of possibilities, and your heart is pounding with adrenaline as you successfully leave Tighnari's hut undetected—hopefully.
You need to get out of here.
You don't know when he'll be back from fetching your "medicine" but you really didn't think it would be a good idea to stay in this place, you had a bad feeling something will happen the longer you spend resting instead of finding a way to get back home—or wake up from this dream.
Getting isekicked to Genshin sounds so fun and exhilarating at first, especially with the way the fanfic writers penned their own masterpieces in SAGAU with so much enthusiasm and eloquence. Sure, you wished to meet your favourite characters at first, but now that you were experiencing it for yourself, it brought you nothing but fear and disappointment. Fear for the not-so unknown world that awaits you and the utter disappointment how your AR suddenly regressed back to the start.
And, no. This is not like those SAGAU fanfics on Tumblr you were obsessed with! You were not a Creator or something, not even an impostor! Tighnari doesn't seem like he's about to worship nor attack you anyway. If anything, he just appeared as clueless, if not suspicious, as you about this whole ordeal!
So, now, you have no one you could rely on in order to survive in this not so foreign world. Well, nothing aside from your AR1 account and the game mechanics that seemed to work just the same as before.
After a few more minutes of stealthily sneaking around, you finally had reached the end of the massive tree that held the Gandharva Ville together. It felt so surreal seeing the whole place with your own eyes and despite your fears, you felt the fascination and excitement you initially felt when exploring Sumeru for the first time. Like Tighnari himself, the details of the scenery, the trees, the houses, the leaves and even the grass looked as authentic as the ones in the real world. They don't look even close to being pixels anymore.
Plus, there are even more NPCs that reside in the Gandharva Ville than you remember. You saw Nasrin, Amir and the other Forest Rangers you talked to before in-game when you were bored. And even the researchers and non-hostile Eremites were standing in their respective places, too!
I wonder if I could see Collei. You briefly wondered before sadly shaking your head, you have no time for that. (Maybe in another route LOL).
On the other hand, you would take your sweet time to marvel at this discovery only if you weren't pressed for time. You want to go home as soon as you can, and be ready to put ALL of this as a great dream you can laugh at later.
"That's right. Plus, I still have to take my midterm exams…" You muttered to yourself as you opened the Map and made your way to the nearest Statue of the Seven near Gandharva Ville and the Chasm. You have to see if teleportation would work, and so that you could start lighting up your Map.
Again.
Come to think of it, if you were indeed in Genshin Impact and this is all real…then which part of the Archon Quest are you now?
"Ugh. I forgot to ask Tighnari if he already met the Traveller!" You facepalmed. "Though I wonder who is the Traveller here and one in the Abyss?"
Just as you already see the Dendro Archon's Statue in the distance, a sudden shiver runs down your spine. You don't like this feeling. You swallowed thickly, braving yourself to look behind you.
And you almost screeched in surprise when you saw a Stretchy Geo Fungus aggressively charging straight at you. You threw yourself at the side just in time for it to hit the nearby thick boulder instead. In panic, you summon back the Inventory tab to hopefully find anything useful to defend yourself with.
Another disappointment washed over you. "—a Dull Blade?! Where are my other weapons?!" You exclaimed, horrified. But you have no time to complain further because the Fungus quickly recovers, its beady eyes dangerously (and adorably) narrowed at you and come charging again, spinning its head so you quickly equipped the LVL1 Dull Blade and with all your might, you swung at it before it hit you.
"This is so unfair!" You cried as you blindly smacked the Fungi with the Dull Blade. You repeatedly saw 45, 52, 63 as you dealt Physical Damage on it, literally. Its health (or HP) bar floating above its head decreases little by little. You missed your hundred thousand damage and one shooting these annoying mushrooms.
After forever had passed (it's really only about five minutes) and shedding a tear or two behind physically wrecking the LVL10 Fungus (why is it level 10 already when you're in the WL0?!), you stared blankly at the Mora and Fungal Spores it left behind.
"Huh? So, the game system about enemy loot is the same, too?" You asked yourself in disbelief as the Mora excitedly jumped around you before it vanished in your Inventory (you now have 35 Mora, yay!) You have to grab the Spores yourself before it, too, disappears in your Inventory. In the corner of your eyes, you also saw additional EXP for your Adventure Rank and possibly your Character EXP, too.
It was a huge relief that the Statue of the Seven seems to work just fine. So, when you interact with the Statue in Gandharva Ville, the Map that surrounds it is lit up, including its Teleport Waypoints.
"A-Are you saying…" Your jaw dropped, also dropping the Dull Blade while staring at the Paimon Menu in unbridled rage. "...I HAVE TO FIGHT THE ENEMIES MYSELF TO GET LOOTS? You have to be kidding me!"
The disappointing (again) thing was that…you can't resonate with the Statue like the Traveller does in-game.
"In short, this game is rigged from the start." You frowned angrily as you started to trek away from the Statue. How come it only favours the Traveller to give them cool powers and not you?! Hmp.
In any case, you decided to leave Sumeru for now. This area was too dangerous for your AR1 ass, as you could see with fighting just a single Fungus. Archons forbid what would happen if you encounter those annoying Eremites and Fatui loitering around!
Liyue seems to be more of a safe option compared to Sumeru. If not, you could always go to Mondstadt instead. The starting regions have little to no overall hostility that Inazuma and Sumeru possessed, aside from a few Fatui and stronger hilichurls. Plus, the chests there are easier to find compared to the ones in Sumeru and Inazuma. More chests means more mats. Heh.
If worse comes out, you could always run away with your Physical Dull Blade, no? You sarcastically console yourself.
And that's what you had done for the rest of the day. You tried your best to not disturb any Fungus or any Sumpter Beast nearby, hiding behind trees and bushes to camouflage yourself poorly.
The only thing that you find lucky enough is probably how you manage to locate your backpack hanging on a tree. Thankfully, your phone (who magically seems to have an infinite battery??), your laptop, your textbooks and notebooks and other stuff didn't get wet from the constant rainfall in the Avidya Forest. And who knows what might happen if someone from this world discovered your things!
Anyhow, it must be the most stressful and exhausting two days of your life, and yes, this dream-turned-into-reality is being an absolute nightmare now. You have no proper rest, no proper food, and your flight and fight response is so high that even a slight noise nearby would make you jolt and run for your life, exhausting yourself even further.
You were glad you always brought some painkillers and other medicine and first aid (perks of being a scout during grade school. Hahaha). You could at least tend to your wounds while you were travelling by yourself—still, it's not enough but it would do.
You wanted to cry and curled in a ball and hoped that this nightmare would end soon. It was a bad decision to leave Tighnari's care so soon, yes, but you can't also let your uncertainty hinders you to know what exactly is happening right now. Tighnari may offer protection and safety to you, but that choice would also restrict your actions and discovery if you don't set yourself out.
"I still think I did the right thing…" you groaned tiredly, looking at the hilichurl camp at the distance. "...well, at least I'm in Liyue now. Maybe if I'm lucky, I can see Zhongli or even Xiao soon…welp."
Maybe you shouldn't have jinxed it.
That's all you remember before your stomach rumbles so loudly and everything goes black.
When you thought meeting Xiao would make you feel safe and defend you at least since he's one of your best DPS in-game and could annihilate enemies faster and efficiently both in lore and meta sense, having to feed him with decent to godsent artefacts, and the prospect of meeting him did excites you for a bit, you almost forgot this possibility.
"...Answer me, mortal. Why did you call me and how did you know that name?" The tip of the Primordial Jade Winged Spear that you accidentally pulled in the Standard Banner was pointed at your neck threateningly. You stared wide-eyed at the glinting tip, and as you marvelled at the weapon's intricate design (and its delicious crit rate stat; nevermind its pointing at you), you immediately noticed one tiny detail.
"...Huh…why is your weapon not ascended—" You blurted out, unashamed before you realised you should've been afraid that Xiao himself was pointing his signature weapon at you.
But no, you knew the design of PJWS by heart now. You knew that that is not its ascended form. But aside from that—
"Conqueror of Demons, please do wait a moment. They appeared to be lost and distraught. We must give them time to collect and explain themselves before we come to conclusions." The calm voice of Xiao's fellow 'Big Three' member somehow manage to soothe your confused nerves.
That's the keyword—somehow.
You didn't know if it was because of the grogginess of being asleep for who-knows-how-long had spiraled your initial fear and cautiousness prior to their arrival into confusion and you simply—
"What the actual fuck?"
—cannot function well.
As well as you hoped to be, at least.
You have no idea why Xiao and Ganyu were with you right now! What you remember before passing out from exhaustion (and hunger) is passing by a hilichurl camp at the intersection between Liyue and Sumeru, and after that?
What are you doing in Nantianmen now?! It's impossible because you were certain you haven't unlocked the Teleport Waypoint there yet! But you found yourself waking up with the two of them hovering around you, with one pointing his weapon at you the moment you land your eyes on him.
Xiao didn't seem like he would listen to Ganyu's words though, and his grip on his polearm just tightened with what you just said. "...I have not heard of that language. Explain yourself, mortal, and answer my question before I make a decision for you."
"Conqueror of Demons," Ganyu pleads, kneeling beside you and patting your shoulder awkwardly.
His threats shook you, because you knew if you didn't answer, he would really go with it. Especially since he was seeing you as a threat to Liyue right now.
"W-Wait! I didn't mean any trouble!" You found yourself exclaiming in desperation. "I didn't even know what the fuck is happening!"
His cat-like amber eyes narrowed down at you dangerously, obviously not believing what you said. "That is what every suspicious mortal says when caught in the act. And that did not explain why you know that name."
"Uh…I dunno, are you an Adeptus?" You tried pathetically.
"And?"
"Isn't it only polite to call your name?"
Ganyu answered this time, still as soft as ever, that could've fooled you. "Mortals tend to call him 'Conqueror of Demons' or 'Vigilant Yaksha' instead. Not many were aware of that name so it took us by surprise that you seem to know him."
"Oh…" It dawned on you why he seems so hostile now. You were so used calling him Xiao that you forgot about that piece of lore.
Xiao is a name seldom heard.
Route 2.1: Tell them a lie! Something like your grandparents were once saved by him and he gave his name to them or whatever. Or maybe risk telling them that you knew the Traveller (which may or may not be a bad decision since you don't know what point of time is this now) but as if you have any choice anyway. It's that or die again. Ugh.
Now, you knew where you fucked up.
Route 2.2: Tried reasoning with them as calmly as you could. Explain how you don't remember anything and you seem to have amnesia. Anything that would seem like you were innocent and the only thing you remember is someone telling you to call Xiao's name when you're in danger (which is not a lie in fact, since he did tell you [the traveller] that in one of his voice lines).
