He's not a fan of red velvet or just a red cake in general. Since it reminds him of the eyes too much.

But he's okay with red jelly and ONLY red jelly on his cake, no other red/scalet decoration on his cake. Killua made a joke that it looked like he was a vampire who just drank blood when Kurapika got red jelly down his lip and chin.

He doesn't usually celebrate or like his birthday 'cause he doesn't really see it as any importance, and he just keeps looking for the eyes of his clan. It's only when someone (almost every time Leorio) drags him to the party his friends set up for him.

He hates confetti, its too much mess to clean up, but he's okay with balloons since they entertain Killua and Gon, and he enjoys seeing his friends having fun.

His friends make SURE this is his rest day (other than the days they were in the same city and wanna hang out with him) and treat him like the prince he is in every which way, its tradition for them.

It's usually meoldy that makes his cakes cause everyone else.... can't bake... AT ALL.

And Of course what everyone would give him as a present; Leorio: something he actually likes and would most likely use. Gon: cute little things usually found in the forest (he was very indecisive of which beetle, or which glass cup with oranges or strawberries Kurapika would like). Killua: Something Killua likes, sometimes chocolate robots that may or may not have been particularly eaten. Meoldy: She makes all her gifts for him by hand, and it's usually cards, clay, or crochet. Neon: She goes on shopping sprees just for him to pick out what he likes and buys anything he touches, maybe even looks at.
