#apolo greek god

As you know, I'm taking a few days off Tumblr for my mental health, but talking to my sister (we're both Greek mythology nerds, Epic the musical and so on) about Percy Jackson and the Olympians(the series), I came up with this concept for one of my favorite and quite undervalued gods, Apolo.

We already know about the terrible luck that Apollo has with his lovers, right? I imagine that this means that in modern times in PJ is still his normal jovial and artistic self, but he is definitely VERY protective of his lovers even if they distance themselves from him, precisely because he doesn't want them to end up the same as the previous ones (Jacinth, Daphne, etc.).

He still has biff with Cupid over this.

It also applies to his children, we know that several of Apollo's children suffered from quite unfortunate fates (dying young, divine punishments, BOTH) so I can see Apollo being not only PJ's most present father but also the most protective of all PJ. After all, he IS a caring Father in the myths too.

Maybe even Apollo has this fear so deep-rooted that he is one of the gods who has the fewest children in Camp Half-Blood (children have a lot of space in their cottage lol), both out of consideration for them and their mothers. and yet he monitors them constantly. He's like the heavenly equivalent of a helicopter parent.

I specifically ask myself what his dynamic would be like with former lovers 🤔although we know that the gods were surprisingly good chaperones with former lovers 😅

Apollo never EVER misses his children's call for help, fearing that it is precisely his damned luck acting against them, in any case if it is a false alarm he is just happy that his children are okay.

just...a god who really feels guilty for the pain he caused the people I love in the past and who wants to remedy it and protect those he has now.

como saben me estoy tomando unos dias de Tumblr por mi salud mental, pero hablando con mi hermana(ambas somos nerds de la mitología griega, Epic the musical y demás) sobre Percy Jackson y los Olimpicos, se me ocurrio este concepto para uno de mis dioses favoritos y bastante subestimado, Apolo.

Ya sabemos de la pésima suerte que tiene Apolo con sus amantes ¿No? Me imagino que eso hace que en la actualidad en los tiempos modernos de PJ el siga siendo su yo normal jovial y artistico, pero definitivamente es MUY protector con sus amantes incluso si se alejan de el, justamente porque no quiere que terminen igual que los anteriores (Jacinto, Dafne, etc).

sigue teniendo una Biff increíble con Cupido por esto.

También aplica con sus hijos, sabemos que varios de los hijos de Apolo sufrieron de destinos bastante desafortunados(morir jovenes, castigos divinos, AMBOS) por lo que puedo ver a Apolo siendo no solo el padre más presente de PJ sino también el más protector de todos. Después de todo incluso en los mitos el ES un padre cariñoso y presente.

puede que incluso Apolo tenga este miedo tan arraigado que sea uno de los dioses que tenga menos hijos en el campamento Mestizo(los niños tienen mucho espacio lol), tanto por consideracion a ellos como a sus madres. y aún asi los monitorea constantemente. es como el equivalente celestial de un padre helicóptero.

Me preguntó específicamente como sería su dinámica con antiguas amantes 🤔aunque sabemos que los dioses eran sorprendentemente buenos chaperones con antiguos amantes 😅

Apolo nunca NUNCA falta al llamado de sus hijos por ayuda, temiendo que justamente sea su condenada suerte actuando contra ellos, en todo caso si es una falsa alarma solo se alegra de que sus hijos esten bien.

solo...un dios que realmente se siente culpable del dolor que causo a las personas que amo en el pasado y que quiere remediarlo y proteger a los que tiene ahora.

Apollo always wanted someone to love, someone he could pour out all the love he held inside, be completely devoted to that person and be completely theirs. Apollo always wanted to be loved unconditionally and in return he would love with everything in him.

He wanted more than anything to find his soulmate. The true person he belonged to, the person he would spend all eternity with.

Apollo desperately searched for love, in search of his soulmate, the person who would complete him. He had several affairs, hoping that one of them would complete the missing part of him, but it always ended in tragedy and he knew that none of his past lovers were his soulmate.

So he remained alone for centuries, hoping to one day find the one to whom his heart and soul belonged. Apollo sometimes spent his days wandering among humans, hoping to bump into his love, but that never happened. He was tired. He had become desperate for love, to be loved and this shaped him completely. Apollo was no longer the same.

Until one day he found his soulmate. He found you. The person he had searched for for centuries, the half of himself that was missing. His soulmate.

Delighted and stunned by the discovery, the god approached disguised as an ordinary human man, wanting to get to know that luminous soul better. You welcomed him with open arms, eager to discover more about this mysterious man and why he enchanted you so much. It was only after a few weeks together that Apolo revealed the truth. He was a god and you were his soulmate. You felt like you might cry at that moment.

You have always wanted to find your soulmate, all your friends have already found the missing part of them, except you. And your soulmate was not only the most handsome man you've ever seen but also a Greek god, literally. You hugged him tightly and kissed him. Soon you were both undressed and sweaty, the love shining through and the consummation of your bond was made. You were officially soulmates.

Everything was rosy at first, but eventually, Apollo changed. His fear, and his trauma of being alone for so long changed him. He became more possessive and controlling every day. You started to feel suffocated. Apollo, however, didn't care.

He tried to compensate for his possessive tendencies towards you with presents, from jewelry to gifts that he could bestow upon you, in addition to giving you the gift of immortality. He wouldn't lose you to anyone, not even the god of death.

Your soul was linked to his, linked by the thread of destiny that united you as one. It said that Zeus was the one who separated humans from their soulmates and Apollo was so happy that he finally found you that all that mattered to him was that you stayed with him. After all, you were destined to be together.

Apollo's love had become increasingly possessive and needy, the god demanded you all the time. He became clingy, not wanting to be away from you. He's already spent too much time away from you, he wouldn't do it again.

How delirious he was could not be said, but felt. You felt the fear, the dread that Apollo had of losing you and that was what made you susceptible to the god's manipulation. He's just in love with his soulmate. That's why he acts like this.

That's how you end up stuck with your soulmate for all eternity. But for Apollo, in the warmth of true love, they transcended the boundaries between the divine and the mortal, uniting as soulmates destined to remain together for eternity.

Thus, the Greek god found his soulmate, a union that shone with the light of the gods and the purity of human hearts that would later be contaminated by the obsession that controlled him. There's no else to go but his side.

Like Shiva, Apolo, and maybe Loki walking in to asked something but greeted with something horrifying

-A loud girly shriek rang throughout the Greek pantheon, one of pure terror and instantly, those who were around were quick to rush, thinking a maiden was in trouble.

-Shiva made it there first, throwing the door open and immediately leapt back, “What the hell?!” as he leaned his hands down onto his knees, trying to swallow his heart after it leapt to his throat.

-Loki arrived next, running in, wanting to know what happened and he immediately froze, unable to process the creature that was before him.

-You looked amused in your Lovesac chair, only, instead of your normal cat like form or the rare human like form you took- you took on one of your more rarely seen forms, a creature of darkness and nightmares, a being of pure evil.

-You had been feeling bored and decided to play a prank, needing some amusement, and boy had you been amused! Each person that entered either flinched back or ran out, terrified of you.

-Shiva stomped over, poking at that he believed was a cheek on this monstrous form of yours, “You need to stop hanging out with Loki- he’s being a bad influence on you!”

-You just laughed, finding it amusing, your unearthly form writhing with your glee, “I wanted a different form of entertainment today.”

-Loki, once he was unfrozen, was laughing, thinking it was hysterical, much to the annoyance of others.

-Shiva then paused, “Wait- then who screamed? Where is she?” you blinked, amused, “She? Uhhh- look up.�� All eyes went to the ceiling and eyes went wide as they saw Apollo clinging to the rafters, nails digging in so he wouldn’t fall back down.

-The roar of laughter at Apollo’s girly shriek made everyone quickly forgive you, as that was way more amusing, much to Apollo’s dismay.

-At least you knew how to deal with Apollo in the future if he ever tried to mess with you.
