I made this a long time ago goofing around with the Windows midi sounds. The moment you hear the Synth Voice instrument you just get hit with it so I just had to make my own arrangement for it.

Ironically, I first heard the Synth Voice from OoT with Malon singing on the way to Hyrule Castle...

It was fairly old so I touched it up. Hopefully it sounds a bit better than when I first uploaded it.

hot take, but phoenix shouldn’t have been in the sequel trilogy.

look idk if it’s common knowledge but Shu Takumi didn’t want phoenix in the trilogy. phoenix’s story was finished. he didn’t want to intrude on it. but fucking capcom forced him to add phoenix bc of how much ppl liked him and it was good for marketing. and Shu Takumi did RLLY well for keeping phoenix’s story intact while not ruining it and keeping him as the same character. disbarred phoenix was, in my opinion, the best he could’ve done and it was REALLY good.

but that changed in aa5. in aa5 (again, no clue if this is common knowledge), the development team changed because the original team was working on professor layton vs phoenix wright and capcom didn’t feel like waiting. now, i would like to clarify, I DONT MIND THIS. i like when new creators are given the opportunity to, well, create. the new team was the team that created investigations, so they had experience with the franchise (nvm how i feel abt investigations) and were given total creative freedom and were allowed to ignore Shu Takumi’s original plan (again, i do not mind). except for one thing. they had to make phoenix a main character.

a lot of fans criticize this decision for a very simple reason: phoenix acts very nearly the same as he did in the first trilogy. this is bad for multiple reasons: one is that he, very obviously, is a different character than he was in the first trilogy. between disbarment and having a kid and whatever the fuck he had to do to get kristoph jailed, it’s quite frankly an insult to have him act the same way. another is that it completely ignores the development he had during the first trilogy. and let me make this clear: i do NOT blame the new development team. they had to do that in order for phoenix’s trials to be any sort of challenge or entertainment for the fans.

anyway, this all boils down to one thing: Shu Takumi was right, phoenix’s story was over and he shouldn’t have been in the sequels as anything more than an interesting side character. thanks!

[God Games Once Again]

It just occurred to me that Poseidon's "I've been waiting for this moment" line in Get In The Water implies that he's literally been waiting on the shores of Ithaca for several years for Odysseus to return.

Now I can't stop thinking about the potential for several incidents happening over the years where a random Ithacan(?) Would spot horseidon on the beach, do a double-take because "wait, horses can't live on this island" (if I remember correctly), and then when they look again, horse is either straight up gone or staring directly into their soul.

I always imagine Poseidon waiting right there at the shore, sulking over how long it took Odysseus to finally get there.
