I've started playing Honkai Star Rail and I love how dramatically silly it lets me be. So far I have stolen mail, searched garbage cans, entered a closet to become one with the darkness, waxed on about how life is just a road to death to a terrified guy (somehow that seemed to make him less terrified), bowed in respect to a dumpster, investigated an inconspicuous lamp so many times it got mad at me, investigated a trash can so many times it insulted me, and felt bad for two different trash cans and several sandbags (I believe my Trailblazer is going insane from putting up with me). All this not counting with the countless dialogue options with NPCs around the world that allowed me to be incredibly dramatic (think almost Fischl style) for no reason (you can bet I took them). However, I cannot jump or climb, and fights are turn-based... we respect our opponents in Star Rail (and die. A lot).
What I conclude from this is that while the Traveler has a moral code (and some standards) when dealing with interpersonal interactions but isn't bound by physical restrictions or conventions (stairs? The Traveler does not understand that concept. Fair fights? Please, they don't have time for that), the Trailblazer is the exact opposite. The physical rules may hold them but their only ties to social rules or convention so far have been March and Dan Heng saying "hey, maybe don't fight the guards" and "hey, you can't just accept random jobs".
It also might be because the Traveler is a thousand year old entity that has been through A Lot (has learnt the power of friendship, but is too tired to take the long route) and is on a serious mission while the Trailblazer was quite literally Born Yesterday with the sole purpose of housing a massive problem inside their body (walks and fights like a Normal Person bc they're mimicking everyone else, but is absolutely unhinged) and is just having fun with tjeir newfound existence.
Either way I love both of them and they're basically cryptids but in different ways.
#the Traveler gives off ''i'm too old for this'' enegry but also ''If I don't fix it who will''#while the Trailblazer is the most chaotic neutral mf I've ever seen and I love them so much#hoyoverse mcs my beloved#When I started genshin I expected a soft game with silly moments and was instead met with pain#Also I love how powerful the traveler has become (I like to believe they're just recovering the power they used to have)#The Traveler holds the braincell between these two btw#I want to understand Star Rail lore better so I can write smth abt the two of them meeting in like a dream sequence kind of thing#when I started genshin I expected haha funny colorful game but was met with pain and post-apocaliptic worlds and cataclysms#when I started star rail I expected pain and apocalyptic worlds and cataclysms and was met with THE ABILITY TO BE SILLY#I CAN HIDE IN CLOSETS#fun fact: i started playing both games for the Hot Dragon Men#also: in mondstadt there's a goth hotel (the hotel is named goth but doesn't seem to have ties to goth culture)#and in star rail there is a goethe hotel that is pronouced rather similarly. both are family establishments and both are ran by an old man

Since everything is different would Jason had died to the chaos or a hero incident like usual
Also how are the villians in this anyways???
Jason is most likely a hero/chaos incident [the guy was posessed]
Villains most likely would like,,,work in like black market stuf. This is a world that is broken, theres only so many still habitable zones. Food is scarce people are dying, they have to stay alive somehow. Also for sure there would be territorial fights too w villains. [those who are brave and stupid enough to do that]
like the biggest threat to everyone is still teh Chaos. They have a common enemy, so villain vs hero clash thing woudlnt be that common. its more liek Hero vs a posessed Hero/villain.
tbf a distinction between hero and villain is harder to make in this world, they are all just trying to survive.
#pd fracture au#ok for sure there are villains that id want chaos to be set free or smth but like#im not gonna get into that lmao#this is a post apocaliptic world#all old rules and morals are long gone fhgjd#heroes in this world are just people who have powers and have decided to fight against the chaos with that

SPOILERS FOR CHAPTER 1138 OF ONE PIECE
@shishishi-sunny @wyvernslovecake @theheybarrel
I'm basically going to write what I understood from the last panel.
"The First World", ended 900 years ago - beginning of the Great War and to what we call "the Void Century", and "The Second World" - 800 years ago - the end of the Void Century and the beginning of the World Government rule.
The first world was a technologically advanced world, symbolized by the factory. Humanity used the "Mother Flame" - the "forbidden sun" (represented by the balls of energy carried by the slaves) in their industry. The slaves wished upon their liberation, and from what Vegapunk told us, akuma no mi are the materialization of the wishes of humanity. So the Hito Hito no mi: model Nika came to be. A man-made God was born. The "god of earth" Pluton, a ship that moved using the energy of the Mother Flame caused the big earthquake that sank the world 200 meters (chapter 1115), and only the islands we know today remained. To survive the flood, people and animals got on the Noah ark, just like it happened on the Bible passage that inspired the manga.
I'm also curious about "Vearth", the god of earth in Skypiea.
The serpent of hell can be a reference to Jormungandr or the Leviathan. Maybe in the context of One Piece it is Nerona Imu themselves. Maybe it is a former user of the Yami Yami no Mi that brought darkness and death... Maybe it is just the serpent of Skypiea.
"The god of the forest sent forth demons" - the Devil Fruit tree created an army of Devil Fruit users. "The sun merely spread the embers of war" - Nika/Joyboy/The Sun God lead that army into war, his companions of the Ancient Kingdom: Nefertari Lili, Emet, Zunisha.
"The people of the half-moon" - Kozuki and Minks? - and "the people of the moon" - Shandorans, Birkans, Skypieans? - dreamed of a new Dawn. But humanity, the alliance of the 20 kingdoms, killed the sun, Joyboy, and began their reign of terror.
The God of sea became enraged - the Mermaid Princess Poseidon, Joyboy's dear friend, brought destruction after his passing.
"They could never meet again" - Poseidon was exiled in Fishman Island and Pluton buried under Wano. What about Uranus? I don't know, maybe the Mother Flame itself is Uranus and Pluton is "just" the warship.
About the People of the Moon:
Enel's cover page story is now more important than ever. His ark Maxim is depicted on chapter 1138, since it was probably used by the first moon people to come to the blue sea. It has also been a famous theory that the first Joyboy might have been one of them.
Who is that big Dragon in the middle of the page? I'm not sure. Is that the Forest God? I was reminded of the current Gorosei, and it vaguely looks like Markus Mars, just like the serpent resembles Ju Peter.
"The Third World" is about to end right now. It is a post-apocaliptic world where most people aren't aware of the events of the Void Century. We can see a bunch of characters that are well know to us readers and are destined to bring the End of Times and the Dawn of the New World (which we now now it's is going to be the Fourth): Luffy as Nika, Shirahoshi as Poseidon, Loki representing the Giants apparently, Emet the robot who was a companion of Joyboy, a Tontatta, a Mink, and a series of ships with what we assume have the Ancient Kingdom flag:
I would like to bring attention to a character that was highlighted in a previous moment of the chapter. It looks like a Mink, but I think he is a Zoan User - Yamato in his Okuchi no Makami form, the Guardian Deity of Wano.
Finally the big Demon holding the Sun is Imu, next to a ship with their Holy Knights / the Navy. The world will end with the ultimate battle against the Darkness that wants to extinguish the light of the Sun. And the Sun will emerge victorious and bring a new Dawn.
The drums of liberation will play to the rythim of Nika's heart. The will of D. will be fulfilled at last.
As the late Tom would say:
D. = Don = Dawn
Note: Eiichiro Oda studied about the biggest pirates and navigators in the world, which includes the Portuguese, like Fernão de Magalhães (Magellan) or Bartolomeu Dias (Bartolomeo, Bartholomew Kuma). In Portugal, when we refer to a lord or a lady, we put a D. next to their name, short for "Dom" - Sir/Lord or "Dona" - Dame/Lady. For example, Portugal's first king is called D. Afonso Henriques.
I think Oda did a play on words with Don and Dawn, meaning both the sound of a drum and the Dawn of the New World. So the D. clan are the real "lords" of the world.

YOU ARE . SO RIGHT?!!!?!?!?!! wildcraft just isn't doing it anymore .the people deserve more. i want to be a wolf and be friends with a crocodile …i want a whimsical game that has some story that lets you get your own conclusions to what happened before the game took place… i wanna run around in a forest
you know what we need from an animal roleplay game. optional story. some form of progression. thats always what the biggest issue for those types of games was for me.
usually theres a particular gameplay loop, like you complete little missions over and over again to get money to buy customization items or whatever but what is that fulfilling? roleplay, customization and minor storyless missions are fine. but they get old FAST.
i feel like a good formula for something that doesnt get crazy boring crazy fast would be like. story mode. minor bits of lore that arent overwhelmingly present to the point where you cant roleplay or enjoy the game without having to know every single bit and piece of it.
npcs that you can like. connect to. tie in with that main story. different branches of it maybe. honest to god something like cattails or school of dragons but a more firm storyline. and like fer.al / aj type customization or something. new areas that you can unlock.
being able to PLAY AS AN ANIMAL in a natural setting is also awesome, maybe that could be implemented into the game as well? something like wolfquest but to a lesser extent... being as my intention is to be able to play as a ton of different animals, not just like... mammals and stuff. it might be cool to show those animals life cycles and habits? there could be a part of the game dedicated to more natural roleplay type stuff and then a part of the game dedicated to lore things & the main story so it can account for every type of player.
considering not EVERY SINGLE ANIMAL can be accounted for i think it would be good to pick the more. known ones. i guess. and have customization and gameplay change slightly between species.
you play as a shrike. any area with thorns have a special interaction that can like give you an attack boost or free food or something
you play as a crocodile. special deathroll attack and quick bursts of sprinting to make up for slow walking speed
platypus. venomous effect if attacked from behind
poisonous frogs. pufferfish. unable to be swallowed whole by animals like largemouth bass and any bird that swallows prey whole & gives a poison/bleeding effect
badger. immune to poison or venom (maybe theyd give the same effect in this game) and high defense.
fennec fox. bats. similar ability to have a wider range of hearing & are able to locate any entity in the area from sound alone
cheetah. well.. you know. high speed
and modding could account for animals that HAVENT been added!!!!!!
obviously this would be INSANELY complicated in a coding + modeling + animation sense but just THINK ABOUT IT okay. okay
man if anybody does something like this hmu i will help with character design. i might try to sketch something up for this for funsies later
#the world needs to see#//;i don't know how to code games lr like on general but i have so many ideas#//;i used to have a mind game concept kind pf like this but the world was set in a post apocaliptic setting

Jon: You think we are together in every universe?
Martin: I think it is a miracle we got together on this one.
Jon: Well guess our universe really is the better one then.
Martin: *blushing* Jon, this universe is quite literally an apocaliptic hellwhole.
Jon: *winces* I mean yeaah, but at least we are together.
Martin: You really should choose a world where your PTSD doesn't have PTSD.
Jon: *pouting* I tried but you said we wouldn't be together there.
*Martin has a being loved overload*

one thing that breaks my heart about the majority of the fandom is how...current it is; how obviously tainted by very specific post-voltron fancop ideals. people are so concerned about 100% wholesome headcanons, accurate character ages and Moral ships that they forget about the genuine absurdity of the original material and, by proxy, the fun of building more insanity/taboo/fictional-illegality on top of it.
like - outside of the gore fanartists that seem to, at least partially, Get It - y'all are boring. i've seen more than 5 posts about randal being sexualized despite being "underage" JUST TODAY. guys. c'mon. he's not even underage. not in human years, at least. his appearance is meticulously crafted and his age (+ his 3-days-long birthday) personally chosen. there's nothing human about him, he's an entity. a toothless, creepy entity. why not make 5 posts about his weird fucking dolls instead? or about his exchangeable eyes? fucked up intestine? coffin bed? his lovingly fucked-up way of graphically cutting off his tongue with scissors?
no offense, but y'all look for too much sense in a nonsense comic, and impose too much of a high & mighty moral code for something so unlike the bible. these characters are dismembering, killing, eating and enslaving other people/entities all while living in a post-apocaliptic freakshow of a world and probably having an unreasonable amount of christmases per year; and you're worried about wether the russian pet is/feels related to the american one? please. have some fun. go wild. no one will hurt you, i promise. plus, you'll hardly be able to outfreak the creator themselves - no matter how many catmen you draw severed in half with guts spewing out or how many kinkily-non-consensual luther/randal fics you write.

Day 27
A simple one for today. Inspired by the Drawn to Life series, tho if you know me that doesn't come out as a big surprise Xd
I'm having one of those "feel like shit" days. Not because something bad happened, but because nothing did happen.
Started off with a headache and feeling tired all day (there's been an hour change in our timezone, so that might have to do with it). Then I spend most of the day alone; wanting to do a bunch of things but not having the energy. So I frustrate because "hurr durr ur not productive" inner-thought bad habits. I watch some TV, play games for a while, and the feeling fades, but only for a while.
Then i'm bored again; nothing to do, and too exhausted to do it anyway. My brain, with all his lucidity, suggests to wisefuly spend the time reading social media, which induces you to focus your energy on strangers tearing each other apart in a discussion you don't care, watch today's 10 different reasons of why the world might go to shit, then stress yourself for an hour over your own imaginary apocaliptic scenarios where you loose everything you love.
Then I just don't want to do nothing at all.
But I remembered today's inktober. And the word catches my attention for a second, "ROAD".
And as silly as it is, it made me meditate about today.
I keep seeing the beautiful road I walk through, but not knowing what lays behind the door scares me.
Then I stop for a moment, and remember I've walked this way before. And how behind the door was just another road, with another door at the end.
I keep on and on thinking when will I reach the final door, but the doors are infinite. You don't reach a final one, you just stop at some point of the road.
Maybe I'm just scared of death. But that's a boring answer, because that's just being alive.
Or maybe it's just me fantasizing about my childhood game again.
But hey, at least I feel better now ^^

to my fellow wolf's rain fans who go all ears then someone says "wolf's rain!" (its me i am one of) - just wanted to bring my post canon au rotating in my mind 24/7
pls Nature give me time to do some art about it
spoilers for canon, so little about au under the cut
setting: our times, wolfs appears due to world going to end
wolfs needs to find not only chesa but other flowers (each coded by rainbow pride flag colors) to break the circle of apocaliptic ending worlds and then they do, they finally find true paradise, world saved, everyone live happy life
The plot, if it would be the thing, is wolfs finding flowers one by one, and having some struggles like royals being royals etc. That royals from original are business elite who wants to find some solution so save only themselves, which involves some ritual with wolfs, like there is some poem prophesy about that they need, and it's like, heart of wolf who know how paradise is felt [who is in love], the eye of wolf who know the road, etc
#wolf's rain#wolfs rain#wolf's rain au#wolfs rain au#the sorrow of not having content for a show from 2000's is something that can be so real

What makes Worm a better story than its' sequels?
oh boy, time to shit on ward, my favourite thing to do!
in many ways i feel worm is simpler. This might sound weird coming from such a famously big and ambitious story but when you get down to it its incredibly simple. Is the basic underdog anti hero story set in a fairly standard superhero world. A bullied girl tries to be a hero but the world is dark and complicated and heroes are flawed and corrupt so she gets pushed into being a supervillain and yet she is sort of a robin hood type where she does "villanous things" in order to help people.
She gets more and more powerful and eventually she saves the world by beating god who was actually evil all along.
Like this is all standard classic underdog subvertion where dark is not necesarily evil and light is not necesarily good. Megamind does this, despicable me does this. Taylor is an incredibly compelling, hyper pragmatical, utilitarian genius strategist and she is also a nerdy shy socially anxious girl who gets bullied. She meets and befriends a bunch of cool, rebellious edgy teenage friends. It explores classic superheroe tropes by grounding them in reality and showing the dark logical implications of the classic innocent superhero world of comics. Like watchmen did, like the boys did, like top ten did, like astro city did. The list goes on. It has a shitton of fascinating, cool, complex characters, all who slot very easily into some comic book archetype. It has some of the most intricate and well thought out worldbuilding, and a series of really clear and compelling mysteries to solve.
Ward by contrast is... messy. The world was broken and pushed forward into a post apocaliptic setting so it cant be classic superhero fare anymore. But also it never fully commits to really explore the post apocaliptic side of it either so is just kind of a muddled mess. The powers get esoteric and harder to really grasp. The tone and the narration becomes incredibly dour and morose and depressing to wade through. The characters are generally less likeable. It focuses a lot on trauma and recovery and the boring, no fun, tedious work of improving your mental health. The fight scenes get boring and confusing. The pacibg gets really slow, the plot feels aimless at times. Suddenly the tone gets a lot more judgy, when in the past the story seemed to be a lot more interested in exploring and empathizing with its villains in here the bad guys tend to just be evil assholes and that is kind of it. The protagonist is a boring angry humorless self righteous depressed stick in the mud who cant help but think of the world in terms of simple good and evil. Its a trudging tedious plodding crawl to a messy ending that is honestly a retread of the ending of the first book where the guy tries to escalate the stakes to upstage the ending of worm but makes everything feel meaningless and pointless.
Is just not fun to read, it feels like homework. It feels like doing taxes. It feels like its trying to be so adult and mature and dramatic and serious that it lost all entertainment value or joy of experiencing fiction.
