Knew how I wanted to draw these two so I drew Apo and Owen! Took a bit to get used to more human proportions but I like how they came out. The minute I saw parkour on Apo’s sheet I knew I had to draw him in a tree, little rat guys. Semi made to parallel eachother even tho we don’t know if they’ll be close in RatsSMP.
(Apo is the first image and is sat on a tree branch with dark spruce leaves all around him, his pink rat tail curled up to him and little rat paws holding onto the branch. He has dusty brown hair that swoops up under his rounded ears and falls over his eyes. He has a big nose and mischievous Berry colored eyes. A short red coat is over his shoulders with a blue stripes shirt under and black pants. The faint signature “Nightly Ruse” is on his tail)
(Owen is the second image and is sitting with his legs hanging over a block of wood. He has orange-ish brown eyes and a kind expression on his face, tufts on his chin and pink ears like his tail. His hair is a brown with pointier ears, a thicker rat tail, and sharper nose. Glasses are on his head with a earring pierced through his back ear. His shirt is a brick kind of red with brown on his rolled up sleeves and collar. A green cloth is wrapped his waist and a piece flies off to the right. His back arm is up in a wave with soft yellow light over him and a background of dappled leaves. The faint signature “Nightly Ruse” is on the wood block near his hand.)

Dark Falz Luther
As this boss is becoming more common and drops a powerful Katana in Extremely Hard, here’s a rundown of his actual mechanics so you can get a leg up on figuring out the boss.
This is only a general guide - we do so much damage that on Extremely Hard he tends to just get beaten to death anyway, regardless of mechanics. This is more for organized friend groups to work on smoother, faster clears without totally meta compositions.
For the Urgent Quest version, note that you need to clear the preceding Apos Dorios battle four times to get maximum drops from Luther himself.
With all this out of the way, let’s begin.
One of the most important things to understand about this boss, and why public runs can take so long to clear, is that damage done to his arms while they have armor on them does not contribute to his main health pool. This means every time you need to break one of his arms adds another 1.7m HP to his health pool on Extremely Hard, and somewhere around 2.3m HP to his health pool on Super Hard.
Another important mechanic is that the Blind (aka “Mirage” from JP fan patch) status effect causes a temporary stun that temporarily exposes his primary weak point. If you deal enough damage during these stuns, you will permanently expose it for the rest of the battle. However, if you do not deal enough damage across the two or three stuns you get, you cannot trigger a fourth stun, and this weak point will be permanently shielded. For this reason, while learning the battle with friend groups, Wind techniques are strictly banned for the first portion of the fight, including Zanverse.
Finally, there are many HP thresholds that effectively divide the battle into phases. You want to use the intro phase to full break all relevant parts so you can beat him to death during the rest of the fight.
Tumblr media
This is a marked image of Dark Falz Luther, in the general order you should approach boss objectives.
Start by attacking and breaking the armor on the arm marked with 1. This will trigger a special stun phase where Luther will attempt to repair his armor, and expose the bicep labeled with 2 to damage, allowing you to target and destroy it.
Tumblr media
After breaking the arm’s armor, do not attack Luther until this animation has begun playing. Extra damage can and will cause the fight to go off of this script.
Upon dealing enough damage to his bicep, this will trigger another stun phase (”A variable beyond my grasp?!”) which will temporarily expose his “neck” weak point.
Tumblr media
For the sake of this strategy, do not attack him at all during this stun.
Damage dealt to any part available to you will contribute to his main health pool, and can cause the fight to enter the second phase early. Once again, patiently wait for the stun to end.
If done according to this guide, he will get back up and freely let you repeat what you just did to his other arm, so repeat the process - break the armor on the arm labeled with 3, wait patiently, then break the bicep labeled 4.
Tumblr media
After youve done this, you’ll get a second neck exposure stun phase. Either wait patiently for this stun, or beat on it if you want to - you’ll likely enter the second phase of the battle, in which he starts using different attack patterns based on either “slowing down” or “speeding up” time, denoted by the arena turning blue or pink.
During fast phases, watch the ground carefully. The arena will light up where his attacks will strike.
Tumblr media
During slow phases, respect every attack and prioritize survival if you aren’t confident. His attacks hit very hard, but are highly telegraphed and easy to dodge.
From here now though, the objective is to move on to the part labeled 5, which is exposed by the aforementioned stun mechanic with the Blind status and wind techniques. Characters that can cast techniques should at this point cast Zan directly at the clock.
Upon landing a stun, Luther will stop everything he is doing, even breaking time-based attack phases, drop to the ground, and shout “There must be some garbage in the formula...!”
Tumblr media
Unload everything you have onto the newly exposed clock weak point. If you do enough damage, the armor protecting it will shatter, and this becomes a weak point for the rest of the fight.
However, there is a catch. On Extremely Hard, if you break the clock before you break both biceps, it will remain shielded by a cloud of negative photons. In other words, you must break both biceps in order to attack his primary weak point on Extremely Hard.
If you’ve followed this guide to the letter, you can now safely ignore the rest of the parts listed on the image and beat on him.
Breaking the part labeled 6 will cause another “A variable beyond my grasp?!” stun, if he isn’t already stunned when it breaks.
The parts labeled 7 become targetable after the first swords phase. Breaking all four of them will add upwards of 20 Grinders to the final drops and slightly weaken his attacks during the final phases of the fight.
Swords and you
At certain HP thresholds, Luther will teleport into the background and become intangible, shouting stuff about omniscience. What’s important is that he will soon afterwards proclaim “I am Luther the Fallen! I am one with the Akashic Records!” while placing swords on the field, and soon afterwards will trigger a time stop effect.
The time stop can be dodged with invulnerability frames, such as with your default dodge motion or with Photon Arts that give them. However, it cannot be blocked.
The timing can be roughly estimated by watching the bubbles around the swords as they reach the field - when the bubble is near touching the platform, and seems like it’s about to burst, dodge.
Tumblr media
The “bubble” in question. What time is it? Time to dodge.
If you get caught by the time stop, however, you can mash direction inputs to break free of it.
One free, focus on breaking swords so you don’t have to worry about taking 4,000 damage.
Tumblr media
Note that you only need to break one sword to avoid this attack - each sword targets a quarter of the arena. It’s nice to break all of them, but it’s funnier if you don’t, so it can be a difficult decision to make.
Tumblr media
From here, just continue to beat on him. The clock should be exposed, and you should quickly push into the second swords phase in no time at all.
What if our group pushed the second phase before breaking the second bicep?
You have a few options. Break the arm as usual, then either wait patiently for his attack pattern to end and he enters his stun, break the part labeled 6 and patiently wait for his stun to end, or go for Blind and stop attacking him the moment you expose the weak point (or just don’t attack him and break clock during the second Blind).
When it’s all said and done though, in pub groups, you are probably just going to beat him to death. Don’t harass other people over not full breaking him or doing the mechanics, since the only thing this does is make the fight go smoother - it does not add more chances for Kazami no Tachi to drop.
Lastly, his primary bird head at the top of his body counts as a weak point for ranged damage, so groups made of Rangers and the like can totally ignore all mechanics and just gun him down like a dog.

I See You: Part Seven
A/N: I’m obsessed with flashbacks. Sue me, okay? Lots of background here. i promise that we swan dive head first back into the talk in the next part...but this is some important stuff.
Word Count: 4,037
Tumblr media
“Don’t you know that I loved you, Billy?”
Shit. You hadn’t meant for those words to come out, but they had. Even if you could take them back, though, you wouldn’t. Your biggest regret, the one you carried with you every day since your last conversation with Billy, was that you’d never told him that you loved him. It should be in person, I’ll wait until after this next tour, I don't want to do this over the phone or in an email. They were all sound excuses, but that’s all they were- excuses. I don’t want to ruin the friendship, what we have is already so great, he knows that I’m here, that I care… that’s enough. But it wasn’t and you couldn’t fool yourself or him into thinking that it was anymore. You loved him, and that love eclipsed everything and anything he could possibly tell you, any reason he could possibly come up with for why he wasn’t worthy of you. You loved Billy Russo, and you had for years. The fact that it was out in the open now changed nothing. You were glad, tired of keeping it in. You thought you’d lost your chance to tell him, but you hadn’t. You heard his breath catch, and then the world went silent as your mind found the memory of the first time you realized it...the moment that you knew that your heart would always belong to him.
.  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .
You were halfway up the second flight of steps when you felt a vibration coming from the front pocket of your bag. Suddenly, the dim lighting and drab, peeling taupe paint of the stairwell brightened as you dug out your phone and read the name on the caller I.D. Russo. The extremely disappointing lunch date you’d just escaped melted away as you swiped your thumb across the screen, smile spreading wide. Forgoing a normal greeting, your excitement bubbled through the speaker. “Did it get there?” You took the rest of the steps two at a time, bright green flats slapping the crumbling tiles of the ancient staircase, hurrying back to the seclusion of your apartment.
Billy laughed in response. “Yeah, it got here.” Your grin spread wide across your lips and you imagined the way that laugh would look on his face; how his cheeks would rise up towards his eyes, how that little shine would be there in those onyx depths, how his nose would crinkle and his tongue would be visible just behind a perfect set of white teeth.
“Did you open it yet?” You reached your floor and practically ran to your door, jingling keys already in hand. Shoving the main one into the lock and giving a quick turn, you threw the door open and closed it behind you.
He laughed again, and the deep sound travelled down into your chest, making it swell. You loved hearing Billy laugh, mostly because you knew that it wasn’t a common occurrence. But, if you were being entirely honest with yourself, you also loved knowing that you had an easier time coaxing that laugh out of him than anyone else in the world. “Of course not. I know better than that. You told me to wait until I called you, so that’s what I did. You home?”
“Just got in. Okay, Russo,” you tossed your bag onto the loveseat and flopped into the overstuffed chair by the window. Your shoes slipped from your feet as you pulled them up beneath you, leaning back into the warmth of the sunlight coming through the glass. The date had all but left your mind, completely forgetting about how Jack had called you by the wrong name, droned on extensively about the ins and outs of his job at the Sam Adams brewery- he was a tour guide, but he was trying his damndest to glorify that position and you weren’t having it- and asked you absolutely zero questions about yourself nor showed much interest in you at all. I’ll have to remember to thank Ant for setting me up with this paper thin excuse for a man, you had mused, leaving the cafe as quickly as you could. But even the carefully and colorfully worded “thank you” you were planning to deliver to Anthony had evaporated completely as you could hear the sound of a blade opening on Billy’s end of the line. “Open ‘er up.”
You heard a zip as he dragged the sharp point across the packing tape, slicing your package open. You’d only sent it three days ago, thrilled that this year you wouldn’t have to wait the extra time for it to make it overseas, through all the security checkpoints, and then for him to actually have time to open it while there was an available phone line that he could call you from. Last year you’d had to wait a full week after your tracking number showed that the package had arrived at the APO in Mosul before Billy was able to call you for the unboxing, and the anticipation- along with the worry for his safety- had driven you slightly nuts. It was much better when he was in New York for his birthday, for a lot of reasons. Boston to New York isn’t that far, he’s safe, I can hear his voice today and not a week from now…
Not that you actually knew when his birthday was. You’d gotten the story on Billy’s birthday early on in your friendship, only a few months after you’d invited him to stay when he’d been stood up by Lexi. It had been your birthday, and you were going out with some friends- Lexi, of course, her sister Drea, Anthony was coming up from New York, and a few others that you no longer kept in touch with- when he sent you an out-of-the-blue text as was his M.O. You’d texted back and forth for a while, telling him that you’d really rather be home in sweatpants with a beer and a good movie, and he’d teased you a little for being a homebody, prompting you to ask the question that had started this gift-giving tradition: Okay then Russo, if you’re the expert on Birthdays, what do you do for yours?
Lexi and Drea were bickering about who would get the next round, the current round still sitting on the bar top before you, bright pink and nowhere near the type of alcoholic beverage you would have chosen for yourself, but you were preoccupied with the three little dots at the bottom of your phone screen indicating that Billy was typing a response. Nothing. I don’t celebrate. I hate my birthday.
The short, hard, punctuated sentences carried hurt and bad memories. Even though you were out with your friends, and the atmosphere was light and jovial, you suddenly felt a frown form on your lips. It wasn’t the response you’d expected, and it bothered you to think of why he would feel that way. You chewed your lower lip as you thought about how to respond, but the little dots were back on the bottom of the screen so you waited to see what his next message said. But don’t let me rain on your parade. You takin’ shots? Take one for me...and Happy Birthday.
You looked at the vibrantly colored drink in front of you and slid it down to Lexi before raising a hand to get the bartender’s attention. “Can I get a double Maker’s, please?” You ordered a replacement shot, the bartender pouring with a very heavy hand. Thanking him, you ignored the lingering look and the brush of his fingers on yours as he passed you the glass at no charge. You wasted no time in snapping a photo of yourself and your shot, and sending it to Billy. Cheers, Russo. You clinked your glass to Lexi’s as she took both unnaturally magenta drinks in one gulp, before throwing back the amber liquid. You sent one more text, before the girls pulled you out onto the dance floor: Can I call you when I get home?
The response was immediate, the dots barely even registering this time. Of course. Be safe, have fun. Talk to you later, birthday girl.
With that, you let Lexi and Drea pull you out to where Ant was already making a fool of himself with his moves. You danced to a few songs, snapped a few pictures, and then made a pitiful excuse to turn in, claiming that your feet were killing you. Drea seemed drunk enough to buy it, but Lexi shot you a questioning look before flicking her eyes down to your shoes- bright green flats that she knew for a fact were your comfiest pair of “going out” shoes, as she’d borrowed them plenty of times before. She quirked an eyebrow and tilted her head questioningly in the direction of the bartender that had been flirting with you before. You made a disapproving face, explaining that you were in no way trying to leave with the bartender, you were just tired, it had been a long week, and that you really were looking forward to your sweats. “Fine, guess you really are an ‘ol lady now,” she rolled her eyes but gave you a hug as you pulled your phone out to call a cab. You thanked Lexi and Drea, hugged Ant and a few others goodbye, and climbed into the cab.
Trudging up the three flights of steps, you pulled your phone out and dialed Billy’s number. It rang three times, and just as you reached your door, debating whether or not to leave a message, he picked up, greeting you by name. “You home?” he asked. “Or you still out?”
“Hey, no, I just got in. Are you free? I don’t mean to bother-” You suddenly realized that it was Friday night, and though you had turned in early, the rest of your age bracket most likely hadn’t, Billy certainly included. You wondered if he was out at a bar looking for someone to leave with, or maybe he’d already found the lucky winner and was on his way to the next location. You didn’t have too much time to wonder, though, because he cut you off as you opened the door to your apartment and flicked the lights on.
“You’re not botherin’ me. I’m just payin’ my tab and headin’ home.” You could hear the distinct sounds of bar noise in the background- glasses clinking and music playing, people talking and laughing, the crack of billiards balls as someone broke them up. You could also hear a female voice sounding a bit miffed to hear that Billy was leaving.
“You sure, Russo? I don’t wanna interfere with any plans you might be in the middle of making.” You couldn’t help but tease a little. Afterall, you only knew Billy, only had this friendship with him because he’d picked Lexi up at a bar.
“Yeah, I’m sure. So tell me how your birthday went. S’kinda early to be gettin’ back, isn’t it?” You heard the background noise diminish and figured that he must have been heading away from the crowded bar. A jingling bell told you that you were correct as he stepped out into the street.
“Yeah, but  you know, I’m an old lady now so I can’t be out with the young whippersnappers until all hours of the night. Plus, one greasy bartender hitting on me was enough. The quality of the dudes that show interest goes down as the night goes on, so I figured I would quit while I was not at all ahead.” You laughed and plucked at a loose thread in the arm of the overstuffed chair you’d just dropped into. “Partying like that isn’t really my scene, anyway. Lexi and our friends...I really went just for them. Like I told you, if I had it my way, we’d all be in our PJs drinking cheap beer and eating pizza.”
“You really are an old lady, you know that?” You could hear the shit-eating grin on his perfect face. If he were there you’d throw a pillow at him.
“Yeah, yeah, laugh it up,” you said, and he did. It felt good to hear him laugh, made you smile. Even though you hadn’t known each other for very long, his friendship was important to you and you found yourself wanting to know everything you could about him. Even the parts that he hid away. Like what he’d said earlier about his birthday. “Hey...Billy? Can I ask you something?”
You heard him clear his throat as his laughter died down. “Yeah, birthday girl, shoot.”
You bit your bottom lip before asking. “Why did you say you hate your birthday?” Your heart rate picked up and pounded dizzily against your ribs. “I just...You said you hate it, and...nevermind, you don't have to…”
He sniffed, and again cut you off. “Nah, it’s okay. I brought it up...it’s just not, you know the happiest story, but...I just...growin’ up for me...things were…” he sighed and you imagined those long fingers running through his glossy, dark hair. “I didn’t have the best childhood, ya know? I...I grew up in this state run home. And my birthday… it was always a reminder that no one really cared about me. They’d always have a gift you know? Like a matchbox car or some shit. And one of those flimsy blank cards you get as a thank you for donating to like the SPCA or Easter Seals or whatever...you know with some hack painting of a red truck or a city skyline? I guess that was somethin’. But it was always just… I dunno it always just kinda rubbed it in for me that no one cared. I didn’t even like matchbox cars, ya know? But they didn’t care. Givin’ the kids gifts there...it was just like checkin’ a box so they could feel like they did all they could to give us normal lives.” His voice didn’t waver, just carried evenly as he delivered this heartbreaking detail as though it were a fact of life. You didn’t breathe, afraid to shatter the moment as he continued.  “And I still don’t really have anyone to...to celebrate with or...so yeah, I just...don’t.”
“I care about your birthday, Billy. I’d celebrate with you.” A friend could say that, right?
There was a slight pause on the other end, and you worried that you’d overstepped. Oh shit...maybe I can claim that I'm drunk and rambling and not making sense and- “Well, thanks,” he said, silencing your thoughts. “It, uh...it passed already this year anyway though, so...don’t give it another thought, okay?”
“Yeah,” you agreed. “Okay.” No way I’m not giving it another thought. In fact, you already gave it all the thought it needed, and you smiled to yourself as you continued on with your conversation with Billy, telling him about your night- about the bartender that had struck out miserably, about the neon hue of the drinks Lexi and Drea insisted on ordering, about Anthony’s horrible seizure-like dance moves. But it the back of your mind, you were already orchestrating what would become one of your favorite traditions with Billy- the celebration of his birthday on random, surprise dates each year, by sending him small, personal gifts that only someone who knew him, really knew him, and cared for him, could possibly know that he’d want.
The first gift you’d sent had gotten to him only a few weeks before he and Frank were set to ship out, and you were glad he’d received it before leaving the States. He’d mentioned once in passing that on his first deployment it had shocked him how chilly it got in the desert at night, and how his freshly buzzed head was cold for a whole month before his hair grew in. An endearing image of a shivering Billy with nothing but military grade peach fuzz covering his head filled your mind as you dragged Lexi to a knitting class at your local craft store one afternoon. She’d complained and rolled her eyes, but by the end she had a purple and black scarf that she’d wear for several winters to come, and you had a burnt orange skull cap to keep Billy’s head warm on those frigid desert nights.
He’d called you when it arrived, a curious lift to his voice as he asked “Why is there a box on my doorstep with your address as the return?”
“Just open it, Russo,” you’d answered, nervous excitement rising in your chest as you bit your thumbnail and listened to the rustling sound coming through the phone. You’d tucked a card in the package, right on top so he’d have to open it first. Paper tearing told you that he’d found the bright blue envelope, his name written on it in big looping letters with balloons drawn on either side.
“A birthday card? But it’s not...I told you it passed already...what is…”
Happy Birthday, Billy. I know it’s not your real birthday, but I thought maybe this could be a way to celebrate it anyway. Just thought maybe you’d want to know that I care. You’d signed it with your name, simple, no need to wax poetic, but you hoped he felt the meaning behind your few words.
“A hat?” there was a smile in his voice, replacing the confusion. “You...did you make this...for me?”
“I did, Marine, so keep your criticism to yourself because I’m very new to knitting and my fragile constitution can’t take harsh comments about the uneven stitches or-”
“Why did you do this for me?” he was quiet, and it hurt you to know that he was so shocked by such a small gesture...to know that he really must not have had anyone show him even the smallest inclination that they cared, that they listened.
“Because you’re my friend, Billy. And I don’t want your noggin to freeze next month when you’re shivering in a tent somewhere. Now put it on and tell me how perfectly it fits. And if it doesn’t fit, lie to me.”
“No it’s...it’s perfect...it’s…” he chuckled and you thought it sounded a little choked. “Best gift I’ve ever gotten. New favorite hat. Comin’ everywhere with me...Thank you, I...I don’t… thanks.”
You’d never forget the warmth you felt as your lips turned upwards and you swallowed the lump brought on by his gratitude for something so small. “You’re welcome, Billy. Wear it well.”
And just like that, Operation: Billy’s Birthday began. But sitting in your armchair as he opened your gift that third year, you could hardly contain your excitement. The hat had been good, and the second year you’d given him a pair of reflective aviators because he’d told you that Top Gun was one of his favorite movies, but the box he was currently opening contained a piece of his childhood...one of the only happy pieces you’d ever heard him talk about. You’d been trading stories about the “best day of your lives” one afternoon on the phone, and he told you about the time he’d ditched school with some friends and caught a train from Albany to NYC for a Yankees game that they’d been saving for. He was 15 and obsessed with baseball, but had never gone to a game.
“No adults tellin’ us what to do, nobody makin’ us feel like we didn’t belong there. I ate my weight in peanuts I think, and caught a pretty bad sunburn...but the Yanks won and Williams made some great plays...the guys and I, we couldn’t shut up the whole train ride back. Got in some deep shit when we got back to the home but...it was well worth it. Only regret is that I don’t have a picture or anything, not even my ticket stub.”
You’d tracked down the scorecard from that game- April 13, 1999, New York Yankees over the Baltimore Orioles- online, and stuck it in a frame. Simple. Easy. But part of the best day of Billy Russo’s life. So there was nothing simple about it. And hearing him gasp when he opened it, imagining his mouth dropping open and his fingers running over the little boxes on the sheet of paper beneath the glass...there was nothing at all simple about that either. In that moment, eyes closed and listening to Billy open his birthday gift, listening to the absolute joy in his voice as he thanked you...in that moment, you knew that you wanted to hear that joy for the rest of your life. You wanted to be the one that made him happy, that made him realize that he was worth caring about. You wanted to listen to him and learn about him and show him that you…
That you loved him. That you still loved him. That you always would.
.  .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .
“Don’t you know that I loved you, Billy?”
His mouth went dry and his eyes went wide and wild. She… she loved me… how… he looked at you, leaning forward, tears shining on your cheeks. He’d just told you about the pile of dogshit he’d gotten himself into. About how he lied to you, about the dirty money he’d used to start Anvil, and how he betrayed his brothers...betrayed Frank. You’d held his hand and listened. You’d told him that you’d always cared about him...told him that you’d accepted him- all of him, even the broken parts and the ugly bits. Billy ran a hand over his face, feeling the jagged skin beneath his palm. How could she love me? I’m a fucking monster.
But he wasn’t always. And maybe he didn’t have to be anymore. He stuffed a hand in his pocket, fingers curling around the soft, well worn material of the burnt orange hat you’d made him all those years ago. “Comin’ with me everywhere,” he’d said. And it had. He pulled it from his pocket and ran his hands around the folded brim, thinking for the millionth time about how you’d made it from scratch, thinking of your hands holding the knitting needles, probably getting frustrated and yanking stitches out before re-doing them. She did this...she did so much...for me...because she loved me and… He pulled the hat over his short hair, despite the warm temperature.
“I…”
He thought about the time he’d spent the night at your place, about how you hadn’t wanted anything from him, only wanted to be there for him. He thought about your cards and notes, your emails and the pictures you’d sent him through the years. He thought about that one picture in particular, the one he’d deleted when he deleted your number. He thought about the moment that he knew he loved you- when you’d threatened to send him a romance novel with Fabio on the cover, joking freely only minutes after you’d told him that he deserved more than what he allowed himself to have. He loved you for the way that you cared. He loved you for the sound of your voice. He loved you, but he was too afraid of losing you to say anything.
But now you were here. You were here in front of him and you weren’t running away. And he wasn’t going to miss another chance. He still had things to tell you, and you still had a lot to share. But even if the rest of the conversation lead to you telling him that you wanted nothing more to do with him, he wasn’t going to let the moment pass again.
“I should have told you this a long time ago…” he wet his lips with his tongue, reaching out to take your hand in his again. You jumped, but only slightly, and allowed him to mold his palm around yours, to slip his knobby knuckled fingers in between your own.
“I...I loved you, too. I love you...I always will.”

One. So, in the mid 90′s i was more or less a ten years old, and i was obsessed with prehistoric animals, mostly with dinosaurs of course, and i wanted to be an paleontologist so bad. At this same time it was very popular to collect stickers in special albums. I know that they’re still around but are probably not so popular as then. There was this one album about prehistoric life, almost whole about dinosaurs, but there was something about animals that lived before and after them. There was even something about space and how Earth was made. I loved it, it was amazing and i never get every sticker before this collection ended and it hurted me greatly.
Anyway, as i remember it, the illustrations we’re outdated even for the 90′s, but they also had this kinda edgy and gritted thing goin in, very dark and many browns. Just ugly but charming at their own way. I was in love with them and i wanted to one day draw as, ehehehe, realistic as person that made them. Let’s be honest, children can adore and treat as best art ever every piece of shit. 8D
But there was drawing of one animal that changed me, and it was irish elk, the megaloceros. It was the very first time when i saw it and i learned about that creature from this album. It absolutely blown me away, because holy shit look at that majestic, gigantic thing! But also this drawing was kinda different than the rest - slightly squarish, with strong chiaroscuro but not very detailed, looking very demonic and menacing, with a little distorted head and teeth that looked strangely carnivorous, drawed from down as it was supposed to run over a person that was looked at it while lying in fear on the ground, because dear spirits of elements, a humongous meat-eating deer is going to trample me. And aaah, yes, in the background there was this red blooded post-apo sunset, because why not.
I found this illustration drawn by Zdenek Burian and it look almost like this one from my album. So i guess that it was just weird and edgy take on that one made by some unterpaid artist that probably doesen’t really gave a fuck, because shit, it’s just for an album with stickers for kids and it’s 90′s so screw that.

Photo from here.
Second. In city where i was studying is a palace and an art gallery next to it and on grass in front of these building was standing this plastic, bright pink deer. And it was shining during night. It was like ten years ago so i have no idea if its still standing there. It was so ugly and campy and and i hated it at first but after some time i loved it and if i could i would get one for myself. It’s a real sculpture designed by artists and i don’t want to be disrespectful towards women that made it, but seriously, look at that thing!

Photos from here, there and this place.
Anyway. One year during exams i had nightmares that after midnight this deer was coming to life. Only it wasn’t this cute little baby, but an devilish and bloodthirsty megaloceros from my old sticker album. Still pink AF and also - i just know it - spiteful like gremlin. It was hunting and eating students that didn’t give back their grades to dean’s office on time. It wasn’t really that scary, but this feelig of being hunted down by something otherwordly that cannot be stopped putted me in a mood of inpending doom. And what can be better during exams when you’re anxious, not very smart and not so talented, emotionally struggling student, eh?
Some time later we got a project to do, an brochure for made up event. I don’t remember what i made up, but i put some animals on it, mostly rats, but among them was also this handsome fella looking for his prey, smiling at thought of fresh and warm meal. Restless. Patient.
Didn’t saw him since then, but still thinking about him. What a hunk, know how to made an everlasting impression.

What if Apochan Could Talk?
Fandom/Pairing: Elsword; none Rating: K Word Count: 1,467
Summary: Mastermind is laughing as Lunatic Psyker learns that Apocalypse can now talk.
*Because Apochan would 100% have the turrets’ voices from Portal.
“Is anyone there?”
It had a cute high pitch voice that reminded him of a child - if said child inhaled a helium balloon after swallowing a lemon whole. Had he been another person, he would have be lured out by curiosity, but he knew whose voice it was.
Despite recent renovations after an unfortunate mishap involving portals and a glue gun, there weren’t many places for Psyker to hide in the testing chamber. It couldn’t be far if he could hear it from here. Being a grown man, it was less than comfortable to have his back hunched to avoid being detected and his legs were growing numb.
Psyker questioned on whether it was a good idea to agree on becoming Mastermind’s guinea pig. Wouldn’t Esper be more fitting for the job since the time traveler had access to portals and could help Mastermind cover all the blind spots? There was a chill running down his spine when he felt a slight breeze.
He already thought it was weird that Apocalypse resembled a cat when it was more than capable of clearing a field of demons without its master’s help. Its cat antics of going into boxes and chirping at birds had Psyker confused on whether to find it cute or terrifying. With the new addition of a child’s voice, he decided was both.
It sang, “I see youuuuuu~”
Fuck.
Above was a grid cube the size of a cardboard box with cat ears and a pair of whiskers to match. Magenta light lit the area when it shone a ray of light over his head and blinked when it recognized Psyker through the facial recognition program. The brawler cursed why did his counterpart think it was a good idea to give Apocalypse a voice chip.
“Target acquired.”
Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck.
Its eyes were glowing red with an ominous smile that shouldn’t be possible on Nasods, or was his mind playing tricks on him? Psyker could have sworn he heard Mastermind’s laughter behind the glassed windows. Where was that asshole? Apocalypse wasn’t one to give him time to look because the cube lowered itself to his eye level.
“Dispensing product.” It chirped in that upbeat voice. “Firing.”
Blinding light flooded the room as Apocalypse deconstructed into smaller cubes. Rearranging themselves into a canon shaped like a lotus, it fired lasers from the center of the flower. Missiles flew out and exploded when they came into contact with Psyker, who shielded himself with Dynamo in time to avoid permanent damage and crashed into the wall from the shockwave.
There was a dent in the walls to where the lasers hit, smoke clouding his vision and making it hard to breath. Psyker coughed and leaped on Dynamo to glide over the mist, turning his head around when he heard the quiet whirring from behind. Apocalypse was tailing him, almost soundless when it approached him and mewed.
“Hellooooo,” it searched for him. “Are you still there?”
Fighting the attractive temptation to make a snide comment to the cube, Psyker clamped his mouth shut. The room has cleared, but everything around him blurred as he dived down to lose it when the earpiece on his right ear beeped. Creating a wide enough gap between himself and Apocalypse, he took the chance to find a new place to hide behind the training wood monkeys when he heard a familiar voice coming from the earpiece.
“Excellent,” Mastermind sounded pleased. “There were no delays in tracking people in hiding.”
“Great, are we done now?” Psyker barely moved his lips to avoid being detected by it. “You got the data you needed?”
Psyker was sure the scientist was in a good mood because he was high off testing his newest program on his favorite invention. He babied it more than the stray cats Psyker caught him feeding outside their house! The clink in the background was from Mastermind mixing his coffee with a spoon while watching him suffer. Mastermind took a quiet sip before placing the mug down, which Psyker was certain was the purple mug with a cat and hearts on it.
“Come on, Lusa.” He chuckled, “We just started. There are still a few things I need to test. Can you try moving closer?”
“Was watching me almost get fried not good enough for you?” Psyker squeezed his legs closer to hide his body from view.
“I want to see if distance affects the damage,” Mastermind seemed distracted by something and paused, “You sound impatient. Did Apocalypse sit on your face again this morning?”
His eyes followed the cube flying around the testing chamber with light blaring down in search for its target. It bumped into the walls with a cute squeak when it was distracted by a flicker of light coming from the camera monitor in the corner. It was almost pitiful if it didn’t try to taser him earlier.
“When did you install that voice chip for Apo?” Psyker grew quiet when it turned around and looked at his direction. Crap, already? “Was that really necessary?”
“What wrong about giving it a voice?” He could hear Mastermind smiling.
Appearing from behind the training wood monkeys was a familiar pair of glowing eyes with Apocalypse still in battle mode. This was the longest Psyker had seen it in this mode since the battle they fought in Sander. It broke itself down into smaller pieces to reassemble itself into a canon.
“There you are.”
“Lusa?” Mastermind’s voice broke out.
Psyker cursed when it heard Mastermind’s voice and found his hiding spot. Wood splinters broke off the training wood monkeys when Apocalypse burst through and charged full speed for the brawler. They bounced off of Dynamo, but some stuck in his hair when Psyker launched himself in the air to give himself room to charge himself with electricity.
Realizing that Mastermind could hear him from the other side, he tilted his head to the side to make sure the jerk could hear what he had to say. He used his legs to throw a spare wood training monkey at Apocalypse to force it to move aside and screamed into the earpiece.
“GO TO HELL, ADD!”
There was satisfaction when he heard Mastermind huffed in offense with the scientist mumbling something about him being a brat. Sparks flew out of Dynamo as electricity surrounded the brawler, pulling in Apocalypse before hurling punches into it with sharp jabs, giving it little time to move or react. There was static in the air when Psyker took advantage of it being caught off guard and shot Particle Accelerator. It was losing its glow and had its lights flickering when it floated back up.
With no battery left, its body reduced into smaller cubes and returned Apocalypse back into cube form. Its eyes lit up for a moment with its voice distorted from lack of power. Announcing its dismissal, it closed its eyes and had its ears lying flat before it dropped to the floor with a loud thump.
Psyker closed his eyes and ran his hands down his face in relish at the new silence. His face was hot from the fight, sweat running down his body when he sat down to rest. He was going to need a nap after this. The brawler turned when he heard the testing chamber open its doors.
Omake
“Battery life is still the same, but overall damage has improved. I suppose that will do.” Mastermind purred, “Good job, Lusa.”
Outside the testing chamber, Psyker sat on a chair adjacent to Mastermind, who had finished his coffee when the scientist greeted him with amusement in his eyes. Apocalypse was back on its charging station on Mastermind’s desk with the cube’s eyes closed shut. At least he wouldn’t have to listen to its chatter.
“Not even a ‘Are you okay, Lusa’? Or ‘Are you hurt, Lusa’?” Psyker feigned a concern expression, but the sharp look in his eyes didn’t match.
Looking at the brawler, who had a bit of dirt on him and perhaps a scraped knee from his freefall, Mastermind snorted at the notion. There was no fear on his features when the scientist spoke to him, unfazed by the glares Psyker was sending him.
“I trust it will take more than a few lasers to hurt you,” There was amusement laced in Mastermind’s tone, “Was the experiment too much for you?”
Psyker twitched. This. Asshole.
“So what were you saying before Apocalypse cut you off?” There was laughter in his eyes when he snickered. “I thought a voice chip would enhance with the new coding to scan for people. Did you not like it?”
“Not when you program creepy messages for it,” Psyker made a face.
“Esper was right,” Mastermind chuckled. “You get spooked easily.”
“Shut up,” Psyker turned pink.

RULES: tag 9 people you’d like to know better yeah grandma im gonna ignore this for now
tagged by @satanictits thank you very much i love tag games <3
Fave colour: light violet I think? it reminds me of the sky at the end of summer when the purple, pinks and reds are all mixed up and the sun starts to set more quickly near autumn. I also like warm yellow! I mostly wear black, but i have that one yellow cardigan that’s the most comfey piece of clothing ive ever had
Currently reading: no time or motivation for reading currently but last month i started three books and slowly make my way through: 1st one is a memoir written by a punk rock band’s trans lead singer - Laura Jane Grace. 2nd is a young adult fantasy novel called “Spin the Dawn” by Elizabeth Lim about a badass girlboss tailor. The last one is kinda random but i saw it on sale and-- yeah. It’s a book by polish author Jerzy Buczyński - ,,Pocałunek panny wodnej”, collection of short stories inspired by old polish legends i think?
Last movie: Ride or Die, japanese psychological thriller. One of the main characters is a victim of domestic abuse, her husband's a piece of shit. Later some murder happens and the husband is no more, the girl runs away with her girlfriend, later we get introduced to characters’ backgrounds, their emotions and views after what has happened and... and after all of that dramatic journey i cried at the end even though i expected what was gonna happen and watched it half-mindlessly
Last series: Sweet Tooth!! It’s so good yall should watch it. Furry kids trying to survive in post-apo fucked up world wrecked by a pandemic and awful people pushing the fault on hybrids? Yeah. Other than that it has lots of found family and wholesome moments :] then it leaves you crying :]] and you gotta wait for 2nd season :]]]
Sweet, spicy, savoury?: spicy’s cool no thoughts head empty
Craving: sleep god please im running on 3hrs of sleep, caffeine and several cigs but ive got another hour or so of lectures to be conscious on
Tea or coffee?: mostly coffee but i like green tea as much
Currently working on: bhp paper to finish this hellcourse
no tagging for now cause my brain is purely goo, be a true tumblr enjoyer and do the tag game if you want to <3

3 Frequently Asked Photography Questions, Answered
Some of the most frequently asked questions we get emailed about are around cameras. As photographers, we shoot every single day, so we’ve acquired quite the amount of gear and learned a lot along the way. Thomas initially picked up photography to help me with the blog back when we started in 2011, but since then, we’ve both fallen in love with it. It was frustrating at first, but with any new skill, it takes a lot of time and practice. Not a day goes by when we don’t shoot something, whether it’s for work or play. Here we’re sharing our three most frequently asked questions that range from what cameras we use to how we edit.
What kind of cameras and lenses do you use? When do you use each?
We have two types of cameras that we use 95% of the time-  a Leica MP 240 and a Sony RXRII. The Leica MP 240 is a manual focus rangefinder camera, which is what we use for all of our outfit shots and many of our travel photos. We use these because we believe that the Leica M cameras give our images a special feel. We have two camera bodies and 4 different lenses. Most of our shots are shot on our Leica 35mm f/1.4 lens, which is an incredible lens that is extremely versatile for everything we shoot. Our next most used lens is our new Leica 28mm f/1.4, which is great for landscapes. We have two different 50mm lenses that we use for different purposes. Our Leica 50mm f/2.0 APO we use for closer portraits, product shots, architecture shots and some landscapes. Our Leica 50mm f/0.95 is a specialty lens with a super wide aperture, that means that it’s specially tailored for low light photography and it has an extremely narrow depth of field. We use this lens at night and when we want a very blurry background.
For flatlays, details shots and some travel shots, I shoot on a Sony RXRII, which is a professional level point and shoot. This is a great camera which actually uses the same sensor as the popular Sony a7RII. The 35mm f/2.0 lens is great for all picture types. And having a point and shoot means I can fit it in my purse and it’s much easier to use compared to the Leicas.
I’m also taking more and more photos just on my iPhone, including all of the Daily Look pictures. The quality of the images just keep getting better, there’s no easier camera to use and I always have it on me.
How do you edit your photos for the blog and for Instagram?
I edit all of my blog photos on my computer using Lightroom. I use mostly VSCO pre-sets for Lightroom and I’ve been using Kodak Portra 400 VC- most lately. After adding the film preset, the images don’t need much tweaking because it’s always our goal to capture the best possible image in camera. I’ll make slight adjustments to Exposure, Highlights and Shadows to get the light just right. I’ll up the Black just a bit to give it an extra pop. As far as color, I’ll balance out the Tint more towards the pink, our camera normally has a slight green tint anyways so this counteracts it. White Balance is normally pretty accurate, but I often make a slight adjustment depending on whether I think the photo should be warmer (more orange/yellow) or cooler (more blue). Depending on the scene, I often bump up Vibrance just a bit. If the photo needs it, I’ll rotate it. Sometimes I’ll edit an Instagram photo in Lightroom vs VSCO if I’m pulling the image from my camera rather than my iPhone.
For Instagram, I edit all of my photos using the VSCO app. I use about 3-4 different filters (my favorites include A5, A6, E5 and T3), that all cohesively pair well together, so the photos flow when they’re laying next to each other. I really don’t spend much time editing, sometimes I’ll adjust the exposure, up the contrast, add some saturation or bring the pink hues out in the tint. I love the app Planoly to help layout my feed so I can see what will make the most sense for the next image I’m posting.
What camera would you recommend for under $1000? Under $2000? Over $2000?
The first thing worth mentioning is that buying a new camera or major piece of equipment isn’t always the solution for you to improve your photography. In our opinion, you should look to upgrade camera gear only once you feel like you’ve hit the absolute limits of your equipment. Another note is that you should try renting gear before buying, we’ve made lots of mistakes in the past, so this year we decided to use Parachut, which is a monthly subscription camera rental service which lets us swap gear for a special project or if we are considering purchasing a new lens or body. This is not sponsored at all, Thomas actually found an article about them and was probably one of the first people to sign up for it because he loves testing out new gear before committing.
With that being said, we often tell people to get the newest iPhone if their budget is under $1000. The cameras on these phones just keep getting better and better and you’ll always have your phone on you. The larger iPhone 7+ has two lenses with one being a telephoto that’s great for those things a bit further away. If you are willing to spend over $1500 the Sony a7II and the Fujifilm Xt2 come highly recommended. If you are looking for a professional level camera and have a budget over $2000 we’d be happy to provide further advice, feel free to email us at [email protected].
