i actually fully feel like the fans are too hard on aphmau the character in minecraft diaries. At least in the first season

Aphmau is GENUINELY funny. She moves the plot forward through sheer force of shenanigans. She trips and falls and accidentally becomes lord because NO ONE has put as much work into the village and is as interested in its advancement as she is. The world expands as she is the one who keeps the cogs moving.

“She’s a self insert” it started as a LETS PLAY!!! She didnt start as a character she grew into one. As someone we later learn to be Irene, her initial reaction to the people of the world as being npcs, things she doesnt have to care about but CHOOSES too is very compelling! And as she is more immersed in the world the more she cares. The less they are npcs to her and more fully functional people with lives and families.

“Everyone loves her” aphmau, the character, is a fully automated badass who saves lords and wolf pups from the nether, refurbishes phoenix drop, travels and makes connections and brings people together. She is the cornerstone of the community, she took in children who needed homes, she offers care and shelter to people who need it. she is a genuine, caring, loving person who goes out of her way to help people. She’s kind in a world that often is not. It is unique and it draws people to her. She has a magnetic personality.

I am under no pretenses that aphmau is in any way perfect. She’s far from it. But i feel these things are really harped on and it feels unfair. Just wanted to throw in my two cents since the fandom (especially on TikTok) can feel very negative at times.

And he burns villages to the ground if they dare speak out of line, like back in the Eastern Wolf Tribe where the only survivor was a small wolf pup hiding underneath crates and boxes

Phoenix Drop is one slip up away from becoming an enemy to one of the most powerful city-states in Ru’aun. They have a good handful of loyal allies, and yet the village itself is still small. They are small and they are weak compared to the size of the O’Khasis army

So in this time of peace, she is preparing for war. In an act as simple as building a treehouse for her two sons, she’s thinking about the inevitability of violence. She’s imagining her two boys climbing up the steps and hiding themselves away. They will be safe up high where the soldiers can’t see them. They will be safe. That’s what she keeps telling herself

When Garroth joins them and the two of them play with the kids in the now finished treehouse, they enjoy the few moments of peace they have left. Aphmau, with her sword within reaching distance. And Garroth, who refuses to wear anything less than full armor

This is one of many Aphmau dog headcanons but im just gonna share them one at a time

Aphmau used to take baby Levin on rides around the village/ forest on Phoenix’s back. Phoenix would nudge his way into the harness she’d attach his saddle to because he was so excited to be the dog of the day.

After Aphmau disappeared, Zoey would try to console Phoenix and give him a purpose again by letting the kids ride with him and following behind them with the other pups. It made their daily walks feel less empty. Kiki continued this tradition once she was in charge of them by riding on him while Leona was learning to transform into a full wolf.

He was buried with his harness and saddle.

Blaze is the tallest (6'5") and Kai is the shortest (5'9") (Ein is 5'11.5")

Kai is gay and asexual, Ein is biromantic with a preference for men and graysexual, and Blaze is onmiromantic and demisexual

Aph would passive aggressively bitch about it until she has an epiphany moment and realizes "oh Kai is gay, that's why he wasn't interested in me" (yes i know that would be obvious to literally anyone that a gay man wouldn't like a girl, but tbh pdh!Aphmau isn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer) (and yes, Kai has told Aphmau previously, it just took her this long to realize that gay men aren't interested in women) but is still salty that he's dating her brother and one of her friends

Blaze also likes Daniel, but it's the kind of situation where they both have a crush on the other but they're so oblivious that everyone can see it but them. It's gotten so bad that Kai and Ein are actually considering asking Daniel out for him.

Kai gets flustered easily, and the other two like to tease him about it.

Kai is very good at baking and occasionally bakes with Kawaii~Chan. Blaze is actually the best at cooking, which an honestly sad amount of people were surprised about. Ein is banned from the kitchen, as he somehow managed to burn water once.

Blaze is the only of the two werewolves who can turn into his wolf form. Ein would be able to, but Zack didn't teach him how and the only way for a werewolf pup to be able to learn how to shift is if they get taught at a young age, otherwise they just won't be able to get it

Even tho all three of them were raised with humans, there are certain parts of human culture that they don't understand, like how humans will ask Kai to say nya.

To sum up the love interest; I’m a Chronic Blazein shipper-

So they are already a pre-existing character. How they meet is interesting; due to things in the rewrite being different, instead of Aphmau coming across Michi first, it is Aaron and the werewolf pups after escaping.

Summing it up, Aaron manages to take control of the wolf tribe being the Ultima (I’m still deciding whether Fenrir is good or bad in this rewrite), and Blaze, upon seeing how scared the pups are, manages to run with them. The pups, Dottie, Rylan and Daniel, only know one place to go; Phoenix Drop.

Of course, the people there are distrusting, but eventually the pups earn their trust and stay safe and protected.

So, Blaze is a guard of Phoenix Drop come the time Ein shows up. Ein is…less than interested after all he did just come out of a place he’s been locked in.

Of course, after a bit of time, his stupidity and attempts at helping Ein grow on him, and eventually Ein manages to move on from who he lost and gets with Blaze-

Aaron

assault, convicted breaking and entering and loitering.

he definitely has assaulted people, and there’s no way this man hasn’t broken into some kind of home or business. loitering is self explanatory, since he would probably go to the nice neighborhoods and smoke there, and just hang out there- which they do NOT like. the breaking and entering thing is big, so derrick definitely would’ve paid someone off.

Balto

assault, harassment, public intoxication intoxication.

balto is an aggressive person, so he does pick fights with people over stupid stuff, and since he’s a big ass werewolf, got the cops called on him. he does harass a lot of people, though it wasn’t sexual like i considered his actions towards aphmau. in my au, balto drinks wayyyy too much, and he’s wild sober, so he’s stupid while drunk- and does a lot of stuff in public- had to get his friends to bail him out.

Gene

a misdemeanor for allowing a child alcohol, trespassing, convicted stalking and sexual assault.

gene was 19 (in my au) when he met zenix and sasha, who were 14 and 15 respectively. though below the legal drinking limit, he was an adult when he gave them alcohol and drugs. he was only charged with the alcohol because nobody confessed the drugs. was accused of stalking by aphmau, though they quickly dropped it since aphmau got scared and didn’t wanna get jumped. sexual assault is a hard charge, but was given to him when he groped aphmau- which i swear happened. i can’t prove it but i swear. possible gang allegations.

Sasha

underage drinking, a felony for her cyber bullying, and shoplifting.

sasha is an underage alcoholic in my au, and got caught once at the same time gene got charged for distributing it to them. she then at one point posted a girls nudes online, and got charged for it. (the shadow knights are a gang, and in highschool- the shadow knights are terrible people). shoplifting was her stealing stuff like formula and diapers.

Zenix

underage drinking, underage drug use, armed robbery, and disturbing the peace.

zenix, much like gene and sasha, got caught with alcohol and they all got charged together. zenix was then caught later on with marijuana and shrooms. gene tried to split the group because he felt bad about the charges he caused them to get, so zenix got mad and wanted to do something bad. he got charged with armed robbery, though only one person got shot, and they thankfully survived. disturbing the peace was from one of his anger fits, which can be loud and destructive.

Dottie

tampering with files and logs, breaking and entering, and convicted murder.

dottie, rylan and daniel mostly work together, and get accused together. dottie and her friends had gone into the school files and tampered with them, and had gotten caught- which was kept quiet on, but they had to pay a massive fine and go to jail. breaking and entering happened a lot- they do it a lot and if they do it in the night they get reported and charged. the convicted murder never got confirmed, because nobody can prove it. there’s no body, no camera footage, and not really anything besides the fact the threes evidence was at the scene. but yknow they’re the wolf pups, so everybody was like noooo.

Rylan

tampering with files, breaking and entering, convicted murder, and public intoxication.

same as dottie, all three of the pups were caught tampering with files, breaking into homes and they tried to get him for a murder charge, but the assault happened when he was away from his friends. going hand in hand with his public intoxication, rylan got drunk at a party, tried to walk home, a human pissed him off- and he got angry and punched him- which broke his nose. he got arrested, and then got bailed out by his grandmother (who put him on her own house arrest for a few months.)

Daniel

tampering with files, breaking and entering, convicted murder, shoplifting, and convicted stalking.

i’ve explained the first three charges twice, so i’ll skip those. daniel was caught stealing jewelry, surprisingly. there seemed to be no reason besides the fact he wanted it- and he was pretty sorry about it. his mother is also pretty rich and big, so he got off pretty easy. after people thought he beat eins ass, ryder and jax tried to get revenge by saying he was stalking them- but they had no evidence, and they doubted their claims.

Blaze

possession of marijuana, harassment, and arson.

blaze was caught with marijuana in his backpack, and got off that charge rather easy with a fine, though he was grounded. he hit harassment by going after a buff dude and getting in his face when he insulted him, causing the dudes girlfriend to get a security guard. the arson charge came because he threatened to do it as a joke, and it really happened- and he tried to cover it up- failed. yeah.

Ein

stalking, convicted sexual assault, assault, and disturbing the peace.

ein is a major stalker, and takes pictures of it, so he was able to get that charge pretty quickly. a few werewolf girls would go up and accuse him of sexual assault, but there wasn’t enough evidence, and some of the girls had a history of lying about it. assault came from the fact that he would regularly beat up people, even humans- and of course the kacey incident- where he would get jailed. disturbing the peace came from another incident where he yelled and screamed at a human in the streets, and got detained when he tried to attack a police officer.

Jax

assault and shoplifting, underage drinking.

jax was involved in kaceys assualt, which got him charged. jax also got charged with shoplifting many times, over stupid stuff such as candy or alcohol. underage drinking got him when they searched his bag.

Ryder

assault, underage drug use and distribution of drugs.

ryder was involved in the assualt of kacey, which got him charged. he was caught with cocaine, and drugs in his system. he was also charged with the sale of it when many people tested that he had tried to sell them pills, cocaine and shrooms.

i admit this is not proofread, and that i did think hard about these charges, though i might make another part of this, since i have about five more!

DONNA!! She is a wonderful person to get.

Her full name is (presumably) Donna Doctor. She has a brother, Dr. Doctor (no last name given) and she herself has some sort of medical training? She sets up a nurses station basically! Her mother is only known as The Crazy Cat Lady. The crazy cat lady is Crazy and hates dogs with a passion (she wanted to throw puppy spawn eggs into the sea.)

Anyway Donna was originally from a completed flooded village. Like this village was just in the middle of the ocean until Aphmau stoped by and brought her back to Phoenix Drop, where she then moved into the Babe House (a small shack filled with single woman)

Her and this merchant Logan eventually started having a Thing and officially started dating. Logan is an asshole (affectionate) merchant, and when he was buying an engagement ring for Donna, he got bitten by a werewolf thus turning him into one. He was really worried Donna would hate him for it, and went to the local animal farmer Kiki for advice and help because she lived closely with werewolves as a child. Donna got Really jealous and started raging over Kiki trying to steal her man and chased her up into a tree.

But of course she didn’t care Logan was a werewolf aftwr all was explained and she whole heartedly accepted his proposal and Insisted their wedding ceremony be held at sunset so he would transform into his wolf form after their exchanged their vows. (Also fun fact Donna’s dog hating mother doesn’t know Logan is a werewolf for. Obvious reasons and during the wedding planning kept complaining about a dog smell)

At first Logan didn’t want kids but they adopted an orphaned werewolf pup named Yip from the werewolf tribe that kidnapped them while they were on their honeymoon and subsequently got wiped out by Zane Ro’Meave. And then during the 15 year time skip (long story) Logan had come around to wanting more kids and so now they have their werewolf son, twin boys, a baby girl, and I think in season three or late in season two or both they have Even More Kids.

ANYWAY all this is to say you’re a southern bitch (affectionate) who is also a monsterfucker (and lover) with a big ass family

I misread the title as Werewolf Ears. Don't know how I did that, but this seems like a cute episode based on the thumbnail. So, let's dive in! Rachel seems... really different from how she was in Lover's Lane. Like... REALLY different. For one, she approves of the relationship. But I think that's just character development and being a better mother to her son. Rachel's voices for Aaron and Aphmau though. Derek has some common sense. And logic. Someone got caught. RACHEL. MELISSA. TRAITORS. Derek doesn't deserve this. Why did Aaron sleep on the floor? And how old is Melissa? She's most likely in her early to mid thirties... wait... never mind. Mystreet: A rant

What really, really irks me about Mystreet is how much raw potential it has that isnt ever used, both with story potential and characters. Kim? Could have been great, but personality was boiled down to ‘im nice’ and ‘im being haunted’. Ivy, Lillian, The Shadow Knights, Ein, and every single other pdh antagonist? Could have been great, but personality was boiled down to ‘im mean’ and ‘i hate aphmau’ or ‘im obsessed with aphmau’. Kawaii~Chan? Kai? The Wolf Pups? All could have been amazing if they didnt have exactly one character trait!

On top of that, story building wise, nothing is really explored that much. The most we get to know about Meif'wa’s is that they have claws, have a cat ears and tails, are afraid of cucumbers, are immune to ultima ears, and can maybe see in the dark. The most we get to know about werewolves is that they have ranks or something, have wolf ears and tail, have colored fur unlike Meif'wa’s, they cant eat chocolate, and maybe have sharp teeth. And we barely know anything about witchcraft!

Now, dont get me wrong, I fully understand mystreet isnt supposed to have the world building and the lore that diaries does. It’s supposed to be similar to a sitcom anime of some kind. There isnt supposed to be a lot of world aspects explored, it isnt supposed to have a lot of action and fighting. But the later seasons do have that, to some extent. And either way, that shouldnt stop them from exploring characters and world aspects!

How many of you remember that Kawaii~Chan is good at potions? How many of you remember that Laurence likes The Trans Siberian Orchestra, and is a good cook? How many of you remember that Katelyn dislikes honey badgers? Unless your studying the wiki, I doubt a lot of you do. Jess could have done so much with so many characters, and could have done so much with witchcraft, Ghosts, Werewolves, and Meif’was, but instead we get really little shown about them.

MCD Dog hc time !! (It’s been awhile💕)

Aphmau overexerts herself a lot and has a very hard time registering when she needs a good nap. Luckily, she has a beast of a dog that helps her with such tasks. Puma is a Saint Bernard and wolf mix, so he would already be big without the added extra wolf size, but that’s not what makes him so suitable for the job. He is very different from the rest of the pups in the sense that while they only think about playing and food, he noticed human things.

You may have heard of the term “dog/pile” when a bunch of people jump and lay on one person out of the blue as a game. That LITERALLY is what happened to Aphmau. When Puma thinks Aphmau needs to rest, he will take any chance he gets to flop down on top of her once shes in a comfortable place and hold her still. Aphmau is strong but Puma bests her strength with stubbornness. He will not move. With this, Aphmau has learned to give up and just sleep when this happens. She needs it anyways. He became a service animal and a VERY weighted blanket.

Aphmau’s friends and family caught onto this and post-time skip, would use this same tactic against Aphmau for her own well being when she refused to sleep because she had things to do. (Laurance was the first one to try it and he reported back to the rest of the guards, who thought it was hilarious but ended up actually using it.)
