I enjoy doing these pieces a lot, these last two in particular have been a blast to work on. However, I do feel somewhat frustrated by how long it takes me to make illustrations, so I've decided to take a step back for a little bit and rethink how I approach my work.

It won't be long, probably just a week, but when I come back I'm hoping to do some smaller pieces, some studies, and finally take the leap with some original work. I may do stuff like this again in the future, but expect them to be few and far between now.

Ape Escape: On the Loose #0- They Are Loose Yet Again!

Time to do more Ape Escape with a remake of Ape Escape 1: Ape Escape: On the Loose for the PSP! I’m playing this on the PPSSPP emulator though so it looks pretty.

Yes I have, not too keen on it in my opinion. I don’t mean that negatively, I really admire the amount of passion and love the community (in it’s entirety) has for the games/series and drive to want to see it’s revival for a Trilogy Remake or (even better) 4, but it comes off to me as kinda pushy, which I totally think is a no-no. Sony/SCE will revive it out of their own will, which I think is the best outcome, if they revive it with the same amount of passion the Spyro Trilogy was given, then it would be amazing to see.————————The whole campaign thing to me seems kinda silly, as if it would have any impact to the decision that SCE will make. If it had like tens of thousands of followers, then maybe I’d have a different view on it. That’s not to say that a few numbers don’t mean anything, anyone showin support/love for the possibility of a revival is cool. It also just comes off to me as “if it gets revived I totally called it and it’s totally cause of my campaign ya’ll” kinda vibe, which I could (and most likely be) TOTALLY be wrong about since I’ve only had a passive look at the twitter page, I don’t mean to offend them or any of that. I do admire that someone/a group had enough passion to want to start somethin though, or at least bring the community together, and if that was it’s intention, then that’s great. Even so, all Ape Escape die-hard fans want a revival, I don’t think we need an “official” group to loudly say hey hey hey stop monkeyin’ around and all that.————————- I want Ape Escape to come back as much as the next guy, and I will totally admit I went through a period of a loss of hope thinkin “nah there’s no hope anymore I ain’t gonna hold my breath for a revival anytime soon,” and seein Spyro Trilogy and many Ape Escape fans coming out of the shadows in increasing numbers did make me gain back my hope, but I feel like we just gotta keep bein patient, and if it happens it happens, and hope it’s full of passion and love like the other Trilogy remakes. If it DOES happen sometime soon, that’d be just awesome, then we could all go bananas together as a community.

Fndnfnfnjf I am so so SO sorry i meant to get to this earlier and kept putting it off lmao but I beat ape escape 2 the other day and it reminded me I actually haven't heard of that! Is that a twitter thing because I don't have one if those haha. Although anyways I'm not very like fandom active, I've only played AE3 and now 2. And I mean, unfortunately wasn't the last ape escape game to come out like some PSmove shit? Gosh, it really has been a while :(I remember when I was little and I had Ape Escape 3 and I loved it a lot. I went online and I kept hoping Million Monkeys would get ported over to the west cause it looked so cool to me at the time u///u also I was one of those kids who had like a weird crush on specter and just in general like... His little suit in 3 is so cute. Lil businessman. Lil TV CEO. Gonna adjust his tie and then chop the planet in half. What a little bastard, I love him. Fucking built a giant robot that fell through the floor within seconds of being deployed. What foresight. What genius. Give this monkey a banana he's doing the best he can.

Pipo Monkeys!!! (Part 1)

As promised on Wednesday, here's a group of Pipo Monkeys! These little fellas are super fun to draw but surprisingly difficult too. I guess I'm more used to drawing more "human" figures but getting to experiment with posing, perspective and rendering has been great!

With Pipo Yellow, Red and Black done, I've got plans for Green and White next (I've actually already started Green) and then it will either be Pipo Blue or Sky. Whoever's left out will be posted last with the two extra drawings I was planning.

I do have some shorter animations I never posted here that I could upload, so I may post those at some point. But until then, I'll see you guys next time!

I can't believe thag ape escape is 20 years old already . Damn time flies.

It feels like yesterday since I played the shit out of this game as a kid. The music and gameplay were so amazing. I remember being blown away by the graphics and music. It was so unique and catchy. Really digged the techno vibes of the soundtrack.

Long Live Ape escape!

While I am doubtful that we'll ever see a new Ape Escape game, or at the very least a trilogy remake, I can still have hope dammit!!! I'm really happy about the "CRT" effects I added, but for anyone who wants to see a clearer image you can find one without the effects below (I guess you could call it the "HD" version).
