some of my favorite agents of shield fun facts (season 4 edition) (part 1!!)

season one through three fun facts are on my page!!

this season was the first to split into three separate arcs: the ghost rider, LMDs, and then the framework. in seasons one through three, there are two arcs across the season.

the writers realized they could introduce the darkhold and magic into the fourth season as doctor strange had been recently released and the audience had already been introduced to "mcu magic".

the writers dubbed season four "the fractured family".

dr.radcliffe was described by jeph loeb as “what fitz could have been”. radcliffe is said to be someone who believes they have good morals, but doesn’t think about the consequences of their actions and just does things.

robbie’s charger has the license plate number: 299 ZXB

in season four episode one “the ghost”, jed whedon makes a very quick appearance on an orange bus in the background of a shot.

to film scenes with the ghost rider’s flaming skull, gabriel luna had to wear a balaclava (think a ski mask) with flashing LED lights to simulate the lighting from a fire.

for any scenes with the charger, they had to find two almost identical 1969 dodge charger’s. one for up-close shots and one stunt vehicle. they ended up having to have both custom built.

the role of AIDA was actually supposed to be a small role. however, upon seeing mallory jansen’s acting, the crew immediately began adding her character into more scenes.

Who is Mu-Deok?

Crown Prince Go Won: Filthy Mu-Deok? A stinky, insolent peasant, always causing trouble! But only I am allowed to say that. I’ll execute anyone who harms her.

Jin Cho-Yeon: Jang Uk’s maid. There’s something weird going on with her, and she always manages to cause problems. For me specifically.

Seo Yul: the soul of my childhood sweetheart and a dangerous assassin, inhabiting the body of an innocent girl. She is a monster but not the way people think. It will break my heart to kill her.

Park Dang-Gu: Uk’s maid! We all think she’s great! There seems to be a lot of trouble around her which is such a shame bc she’s lovely!

Jang Uk: my master, my servant. My love, my killer. My best friend, my torturer. The only one who knows me. Truly the other half of my soul. She would break any rule to be with me, and I would bend the laws of the universe for her. My wife, my obsession. My protector and my delicate bird egg to protect. No she doesn’t like me back.

- Ao Lie knew about the sword. and he knew Mei had it. he looked at it for half a second and went "u should just... idk... fix it!! :3" BECAUSE HE KNEW THAT IT COULD BE FIXED BY THE USER.

- Ao Lie is the only member of the pilgrimage that didn't stand in place of their descendant / reincarnation, despite Mei being in the scroll. sure, you could argue that she was willingly put in there, but since Pigsy is implied to also be descended from Bajie [due to having the same passion for culinary arts that Pigsy states in SEASON TWO is passed down through his family generations]... yeah. its a little odd.

- When Tang tells Mei who Ao Lie is, HES NOT EVEN SURPRISED. MEI EVEN CALLS HIM COOL AND HE DOESNT EVEN SAY ANYTHING LIKE "I HAVE GRANDKIDS?!" HE JUST GOES "oh? you really think so :D?"

- "Monkey King is the only original companion we know for sure is still alive- [contd.]" - Tang
