1. in first place of course it is ICHISAMA FOR LIFE

i am a sucker for the dumb of ass kind of heart one falling for the bad boy with a heart of gold one, ESPECIALLY when they have the friends to enemies to lovers arc that ichisama does (ok the to lovers part is obviously hc only but hoo boy it is a strong hc)

what can i say about them really besides that i am writing a fic a day for them every day this year. i think that. says it all lol

2. gotta be koyanagi/kabakura wotakoi AND kashima/hori gsnk

while i'm not saying they are identical ships they definitely fall into the same bucket for me, and boy oh boy do i love that bucket

kashima and hori make me belligerently delighted, and koyanagi and kabakura make me a special sort of feral that i don't even know how to start in on

i really like narumi and hirotaka from wotakoi too, but there's something about koyanagi and kabakura that gets to me way more. the geek4geek dynamic is just impeccable with all four of them but the

3. saaaaaaya and yuusuke from neon sign amber (aka aokise knb)

obligatory shoutout to the boys of my FAVORITE BL OF ALL TIME ok so like as far as bl goes neon sign amber is really not the most unique thing, i would say. but that's what makes it so perfect to me

i feel like a lot of outstanding bl are great in ways that are 'atypical' for bl, like how saezuru is bl, sure, but also comes with a genuinely gripping gritty yakuza plot. and many others that are highly praised tend to be praised by people going "oh this is good because it's not like TYPICAL bl" which i have feelings about but let's not get into that here

neon sign amber is my favorite because it is very much a typical bl, it has a lot of the typical tropes (guy who's been historically straight but is "gay for you" for example)

i don't necessarily love any of those tropes, but i adore what neon sign amber does with them. it is practically a cookie cutter bl, but its characters (despite existing for only one volume of a manga) live in my heart forever. it takes that "gay for you" trope and doesn't gloss over the problems that could arise in a relationship like that, instead actually addressing them in a way i found satisfying

saya especially is one of my guys of all time, and given that they're kind of obviously aokise i'm lumping them in here too. mwah

4. idolish7 YUKIMOMO MY BELOVEDS (e banri)

thought about this one a lot because i feel like i normally like them in a... normal way, so do they really make the top five? but honestly i think they do

i love their stage gay married act and i love to think that's very much rooted in a foundation of they are actually fucking in love with each other. but just that would've made them a cute but not too memorable ship to me

THEIR BACKSTORY THOUGH. MY GOD. first of all baby momo looks literally just like tdd ichiro which is a. a lot. for me. lmao but anyway setting that aside

momo discovering revale at such a pivotal time in his life, being saved by them, becoming their fans, and then being the one to replace banri after THAT happened??? and then five years later feeling like he's running out of time with yuki and ad;slkfja;lkdsfj

i'm becoming incoherent just thinking about it. anyway i guess this is kind of an ot3 for me though i like it in very much a "we are a couple and we are, as a couple, dating banri" sort of thing (not because they wouldn't ever see banri as an equal partner but because imo banri has better things to do than get too involved in that lol)

5. this last one... is so tough... i think i'm giving it to VARIOUS RELATIONSHIPS IN TOKYO GHOUL

ok this is absolutely cheating and ultimately i think what i would have to say is kaneki and hide because like. eat my face to survive is peak romance to me, sorry. as if it's my fault

HOWEVER there are just so many relationships in tokyo ghoul that i'm absolutely obsessed with. amon/akira and nishio/kimi especially!! amon and akira are so so so delightful to me, in a way similar to roy and riza fma, and nishio and kimi are just. i mean. again. eat me to survive. peak romance

(and i swear i'm not a nishio stan because of voice actor bias, i have not watched tokyo ghoul yet because i have been repeatedly and sternly warned away from it... nishio is one of my manga favorites even without the asnm factor, but good fucking lord does the asnm factor tempt me to watch)

the writing in tokyo ghoul is genuinely just so good to me. the main plot is fantastic but what really makes it is the relationships between characters, both romantic and not

(also a fan of the one-sided tsukiyama/kaneki thing going on but strictly as a one-sided thing lol, tsukiyama get wrecked (said with affection))

so i think that is. more or less where my top five would be. though it's like. it's hard. and probably always changing. those are the first beloved ones to come to my though so they will go in this post and i will smack myself in the forehead and be like "I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT ______" as soon as i go to sleep probably

Aokise Relationship Headcanons:

-Kise is in love with Aomine from the start. For Kisehe’s the person who changed his life. Aomine too, but he didn’t understand itat first; he just categorizes Kise as one of his best friends and the player hedesires to play against the most.

-Aomine confesses first in the end, in a very bluntand Aomine-like way. Why? Because Kise is our typical boisterous and cheerfulon the outside, but insecure and scared on the inside guy. He’s good at sayingthings superficially or joking around, being clingy and all…but not with his crush.With his crush, he is helpless. He blushes, he stutters, he is surprised by everylittle tiny gestures and thinks he’s never enough, he doesn’t see the obvious…So, in the end, when Aomine understands that the boy is head over heels for him,he is just like

“Uhm, Oi Kise.Cut it off and go out with me.” With red cheeks, scratching his nape andaverting his eyes. Simple and fast, in the middle of nowhere in a typical,normal day. Maybe immediately after playing with the rest of The GoM, causing aruckus.

“WHAT?” Kisescreams widening his eyes.

Momoi breaksin a cry of joy after years of observing and cheering on the oblivious duo,Murasakibara stops eating, Midorima blushes and freezes, stuttering, and Akashicalls immediately his staff to organize an Engagement Party. Kuroko startssnapping photos at the idiotic duo and Kagami feels the need to cry inexasperation because they were soobvious and complains to get over this quickly because he wants to playagain.

-At first Kise can’t believe it and need Aomine to beloud and clear but then, then he’s on cloud nine. He’s a ball of sunshine andhyperactivity for entire days, so much that Aomine would be annoyed by it if hewasn’t so in love with the blonde.

-Kise is always the insecure one about theirrelationship, but every time Aomine forces him to look into his eyes andpronounce “I love you”, every doubt vanishes. Because Aomine’s eyes are clearand so honest, you cannot not believe in him.

-The first kiss is a result of their mutual efforts.During the first date, Kise tries everything to win a kiss: leaning towards Aomine,licking his lip, eating cherries, hugging…no result. Aomine simply thinks he ishot as usual. In the end Kise has to tug his sleeve and beg under his breathfor a kiss, pouting. Aomine, who was already planning to kiss him on thedoorstep, blushes and bends to kiss him as he deserves.

-Well, it’s a clumsy kiss. A bit awkward, a bit toopassionate and rough like Aomine is. But Kise will never forget it.

-Aomine is a cat. He does things when he wants andwhen he feels like, don’t caring about the rest. Kise is in the middle of thekitchen, with only an apron, trying to seduce him? If he’s doing something else(ex. watching a match on TV) or he’s not in the mood, he’s not going to evenreact. Is Kise trying to study quietly at the table but damn, the way he tiltshis head…? After five minutes, Aomine has picked him up and closed him in the bedroom.Are he and Kise in front of his mother? He doesn’t care, if Kise is being cutehe’s going to kiss the hell out of him on spot.

-First date? Absolutely a basketball date. One on one,just the two of them until their bodies can’t move anymore.

-Aomine always walks Kise home every time.

“Aominecchi, I’mnot a girl.”

“I know, Inoticed you don’t have boobs. But you’re weak and don’t know how to throw agood punch.”

Truth is, Aomine is always scared guys like Haizakicould appear.

-Even more true, the scary one is actually Kise. Hedoesn’t fight and he’s not intimidating, but one sly smile of his can freezethe blood in your veins. Girls better keep their hands off.

-Aomine is not worried at all about Kise’s fangirls,he knows the boy loves him, so he takes advantage of it and stares at theirboobs.

“Only becauseI’m in love with you, it doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate beauty when I see it.”

But if fanboys or random guys try to make a move onhim, Aomine becomes coldly possessive. A casual arm around Kise’ shoulders anda feral glare are the usual tactic.

-Kise is the more active one and always plans funny anddifferent dates for the two of them. Part of his planning is also thinking howto slyly lure Aomine out of their room and his comfort zone.

-Aomine gets mad if Kise calls him “Aominecchi” whenthey’re in private or during intimate moments. He wants to be called by his ownname and he does the same with Kise.

-When they argue, Kise always takes refuge at Kurokoand Kagami’s apartment. He whines and cries until a) Aomine comes to pick himup by force b) Kuroko and Kagami are exasperated and call Aomine to threatenhim to apologize and pick up his boyfriend

-Aomine’s nightmare are Momoi and Kise’ shoppingafternoons. Every time he swears it’s the last time. Every time he ends upagain hitting the shops and holding the bag for more than four hours straight.

-Kise is the perfect house-wife: cleaning, cooking andwashing. Aomine is spoiled, no need to say, but at least always helps Kisewashing the dishes (because he likes doing it together) and fixes things oropens jars (even if Kise is perfectly able to do it alone)

-Kuroko calls them The Baka Duo, since they have bothhorrible grades and are incapable to study together; they always end up doingsomething else. Each other, to be precise.

-Aomine is the big spoon, but unfortunately, Kisemoves so much during his sleep that they wake up in absurd positions at morning.

-Aomine is weak to Kise’s sudden bright smile or the wayhis eyes shine when Aomine surprises him with small gestures. Kise is weak ingeneral to Aomine, especially when he does sexy things without realizing. Likethe way he takes off his shirt or flexes his arms while stretching before amatch.

-They never, nevergo easy on each other when playing basketball.

-Kise plans to ask Aomine to marry him after havingdefeat him for the first time one on one. I spoiler to you that Aomine is goingto propose first and when Kise would explain his idea, he’s going to laugh andsay that than it’s a good thing he took actions before they were too old.

How does each act when getting drunk

Aomine gets super talkative and happy and clingy and- He’s a pain in the ass. He won’t stop flirting with Kise (in a very inappropriate way, of course). Aomine gets drunk really fast. Kise is more used to drinking, but he isn’t much better to be honest. He doesn’t change much when he’s drunk, except he can get sad over any stupid thing and he can and will start crying for no reason whatsoever (cue Aomine panicking and holding him)

Does one of them kinkshame the other

Lmao no, they’re both very into experimenting stuff together. Just Kagami and Momoi often beg them not to talk about their sex life in public because nO ONE WANTS TO HEAR THAT, DAIKI.

What is their song? Like the song that gives them overwhelming feelings?

I have an entire (very long) playlist of AoKise songs, but if I have to pick a top 3, I’d pick Raging fire, by Philip Philips (makes them think of their rivalry and how they love playing basketball together), Temporary Bliss, by The Cab (this is for when they become friends with benefits and neither is aware that the other actually has romantic feelings), Beautiful with you, by Halestorm (It just makes them think about how they know each other better than anyone else in the world and they still love each other, despite neither of them being perfect.)

Kise loves to dance, but Aomine isn’t much of a dancer... In public. They will dance together when they’re alone, though. Aomine likes the way Kise’s eyes light up when he takes his hand and pulls him so they can slow dance to no music in the middle of the kitchen at night, their bodies flush together and Kise’s head resting on his shoulder.

5th place- It’s a tie between Kiyoshi/Hyuuga andNijimura/Akashi

Kiyoshi is a runaway favorite of mine, he’s such a big cinnamon roll! And I love him with Hyuuga because they’re each other’s WONDERWALL– always encouraging, always supporting each other, always having each other’s back. And they’re like the team mom and dad sothe chemistry just sits on me quite well.

Akashi’s pretty much his own man—smart, reliable, mature,independent—and I think only capt. Niji can handle that red hot flame that wasAkashi Seijurou…and they just look great together, so ship!

4th place – Kagami/Kuroko

For a long time, I was lead to believe that Kagami isKuroko’s better half. Light and shadow, yin and yang. And I feel that Kuro’sjust so smitten with Kaga right on the first time he laid eyes on the red head.And whenever I see Kuro look at Kaga with innocent eyes and then vice-versa, Ijust melt.

3rd place – Midorima/Takao

Throw someone so hopelessly prudish into someone sorefreshingly fun and I’m sold. They’re polar opposites but when I see them lookat each other, it’s like they simply slip into a world of their own, toleratingand loving their infinite differences.

2nd place – Kagami/Kise

This came a little bit late for me and just kind of blew outof proportion. It actually hurts me, that the fandom doesn’t acknowledge thisship so much but I can just see a lot of potential here. I’ve always said thatKagaKise is my pirate ship, full of exotic treasures. Because BaeKagami is themost husbando material of them all, he’s such a sweet, stuttering, domesticatedidiot, your typical sometimes-headstrong-sometimes-shy, boy-next-door crush.And then put him side by side with proud, sassy, and beautiful Kise Ryouta…gaaaah, my shipper heart! And Kagami is not mean to Kise unlike how he treatsthe rest of the GoM. And he’s always invested on Kise’s games/matches, hereacts accordingly whenever Kise is at a disadvantage or hurt or whatevs(sorry, I’m probs the only one seeing this haha, my imagination and personalbias go out-of-hand most of the time). And Kise is pretty fond of sweet,darling Kagamicchi too! (Oh I just can’t help imagining BaeKagami bringinghealthy bento boxes for Kise when he’s on a modeling gig… and when Kisethanks/praises him, he’ll just blush a lot and say stupid excuses—this isactually a headcanon of one of KagaKise writers in Ao3 and I can’t help but putit in my fave HC shelf as well).

1st place – Aomine/Kise (like heh, as obvious asAugust coming after July)

I can’t even begin why I love this ship so much. THEY’RE JUST PERF FOR EACH OTHER! I mean, look at their history… and their chemistry�� so much about them is supported by canon material (I’m just too  effin biased)… And I don’t know any better but Aomine and Kise are justthe OTP of all OTPs for me, my ROCKET SHIP, yes. The AoKise dynamics is teemingwith thrilling possibilities, I can squeeze them into every feel and every mood–angst and fluff and all else in between. I can play with them on all myfavorite tropes and they’re just too damn cute when they’re being idiotstogether. And I happen to like a lot of ships in KnB, but I can only write for AoKise(guess that speaks well for how much I love them?)

I pretty much ship everybody withanybody in KnB because it’s a frickin’ shiny shipfest. Gimme these and I devourthem all: NijiHai, KiseHai, AoHimu, AkaMido, MidoMura, KiKasa, AkaKise,KuroMomo (See? Love your aokise stuff! CAN I HAVE SOME FLUFFY HEADCANONS ON THEIR FIRST DATES?

Anon-san, I already love you!Thank you so much for this ask! Feel free to bother me even more with asks likethis! (I actually feel a little flustered as this is my first time being asked for a HC like this.)

Okay, so you see, I’m a personthat lives for angst. My works are mostly angst (evident on the tags in my ao3)and the birthday countdown fics I published here are so far the only fluff I’veever written. How I managed to write those in three days is a total mystery.

I’m not sure if this is fluffyenough and I think I went overboard. (Please bear with me. Still, again, thankyou!) I’m not familiar with formats of HC’s but these are the best I’ve got.

Since they’re both basketballidiots, of course they’d have their first date on one of their usual one-on-ones.On this particular day though, Ao was the first one to arrive instead ofRyouta.

Then, ofc after their rigorousgame, they’re both lying on the ground, trying to catch their breath when Aosuddenly stands up and went somewhere. Moments later, he comes back with a Pocari,which he keeps for himself and a lemonade iced tea which he hands to the Ryoutawho was still lying down.

Ryouta simply looks at thedrink then to Ao in wonder. “You bought me a drink Aominecchi? Did I miss inthe score count?”

Ao, flushes then whispers towhich Ryouta definitely hears, “Idiot. This is still a date, you know.”

Ryouta, in turn also gets embarrassedwhen he realizes Ao’s implication. They share a look to which Ryouta was thefirst one to look away then mumbles something about playing fair.

“Then, does that meanAominecchi will also treat me to Maji?” Ryouta chirps as he gets over the embarrassment.

Ao looks at Ryouta who was nowsporting what he calls as the ‘excited puppy’ face sparkles included. Ao triesto scowl but eventually fails so he simply leans down to Ryouta and messes hisever so perfect blond tresses. And Ryouta lets out an indignant yelp which was immediatelysilenced when Ao’s lips met his for a second. Ryouta was too stunned to moveand by the time his brain finally catches up his face was already flushed up tothe roots of his hair. Ao on the other hand, was already walking away carryingboth of their bags.

Then he stops a moment a looksback to Ryouta a devilish smirk in his handsome face which flushes Ryouta’sface even more as his heartbeat increases in effect. “You coming?”

Ryouta immediately gets up onhis feet to catch up to his stupidly unfair and handsome boyfriend. “Aominecchi,you really are so unfair!” he shouts but a satisfied smile is plastered on hisface.

Ao enlists Momocchi’s help indressing up coz she’s the best friend ever and she’s a strong shipper of thispair. So they even went as far as shopping the day before to find ‘The Outfit’.

(Yeah, Ao actually does want toimpress his boyfriend on their first date. So he needs to put effort given thatmy baby his boyfriend is so effortlessly good looking.)

On the actual day, they meet upon the station and Ryouta was blown away with the obvious effort his boyfriendput in dressing up. He appreciates the effort but even he can’t hold back hischuckle as he comes near his adorable boyfriend and mumbles, “Aominecchi, Ireally do love you after all. Even if you didn’t remember to remove the tag toyour outfit of the day. I appreciate the effort.” Ryouta silently pulls the tagoff Ao’s jacket and kisses his cheeks before walking away pulling his obviouslyflustered boyfriend.

I really went overboard, didn’t I? This was a fun write tho!

I think I know what fic you’re talking about and just reading its summary made my heart sink (I definitely didn’t tear up pshh) so I spared myself the torture of reading it but I agree with you 100% I am a sucker for angst too but never for cheating (there are a million other amazing great angst HCs/plots/ideas that dont have to involve cheating whatsoever) and be it with aokaga or aokuro I too am so sick of how some authors use kise as their guinea pig for all those cheating fics smh smh

Same here. It pisses me off to see Kise being used as a scapegoat. Aokuro, Aokaga and Aomomo, Aomine x some girl, each and every damn pairing has him cheating on Kise. I don’t think I have read much fictions where Kise is the one who cheats on Aomine. Why not him? Because he adores Aomine too much? Because he falls hard and deep for Aomine? I would like to see a fiction where Kise realizes that Aomine doesn’t treat him well, doesn’t treat him the way he should be treated and leaves his sorry ass for someone else. Then maybe Aomine will realize his mistake but till then, it’s too late. This is why Aomine pining on Kise or one-sided Aomine in love with Kise is one of my fav genres, ever. (Don’t even get me started on one-sided Kise in love with Aomine...) It also pisses me off to see where Aomine is usually portrayed in a negative light. He can be a jerk but he also cares a lot about his friends. In his own tsundere way, he still cares. I wish people explored that side of him more, instead of making him a dick head to everyone else.

I don’t know if it’s the same fangirl or my writing triggered the same emotions in both of you, but I’m happy to comply! However, here it is. It took me a bit because I’ve always read that sentence as ironic, so I had to imagine a different angsty scenario! I hope you enjoy it! 

BROKEN

 Midorima couldn’t say that he was unhappy or thattheir relationship wasn’t going well. It was just…lacking. They had never had areal fight. It’s not that he wanted to argue with Akashi, but disagreementswere useful to grow, to understand how to synch with the other one. However, theystill couldn’t do it.

When Kise and Aomine fought, everyone in the cityprobably knew: one usually cried and screamed escaping away from the apartment,the other growled angrily and coldly, punching everything on his way to venthis anger. When he and Akashi fought, they had calm and collected discussions:they talked about the problem and resolved it in few days, sometimes after alittle cold war. That would have been perfect for Midorima, if Akashi had everstarted one. But he never said anything, never made a complain. Sometimes,Midorima could sense that he was unhappy or mad about something, but hewouldn’t voice his anger. He would plaster on his face that disgusting, fake,polite smile and say it was nothing. How they could grow together if he alwaysbottled everything inside of himself? It was like he was bearing theirrelationship and not enjoying it. He never relied on him for help, he neveraccepted to let himself fall or crumble. He still tried to be the perfect Emperor,someone who could do everything alone. But a relationship involved two person.

 Midorima had reached his limit.

Akashi was frozen on the spot in front of him, fakesmile at his usual place. Caught by surprise by Midorima’s explosion. He wascooking dinner while talking with Midorima, when an unpleasant thought hadcrossed his mind and he knew he had showed an irritated, forced smile, but hehad thought he had been enough fast to conceal it. However, Midorimahad slammedhis hand on the table and stood up glaring angrily at him.

“For how much time we have to go on like this?” hehissed, trembling for the anger.

Akashi took an unsteady breath and tried to smileagain.

“I don’t und-” tried to ask calmly, but Midorima shuthim up with a growl.

“You don’t understand? Are we even in the samerelationship?” asked bitterly, fixing his glasses.

The redhead boy stopped, turning completely to facehim. A grip tightened around his throat and he felt like chocking, but attemptedto hide it again.

“Shintarou, if I have done something that hurt you,please allow me to apologize.” Said in a low, soft voice, clenching his fiststo hide the trembling. The disappointed look in Midorima’s eyes was digging ahole in his heart. Where did he make a mistake again?

“You haven’t done anything Seijuurou! That’s the damnproblem!” replied Midorima in a cold, menacing voice, “You never do. You alwaysseem to put up with me, like a damn charity service. I should be your boyfriendbut you never rely on me, you never complain, you never open. Are we reallytogether or I missed something along the way?” asked ironically, lifting hishands to the air.

Akashi tried to reply, but his throat was dry andpanic was filling him. Had he messed up again? Why he couldn’t do it right likeeveryone else? He had tried his best. Why it wasn’t enough?

“I don’t need a babysitter. You know, sometimes it’slike we’ve never changed from Teikou.” That words paralyzed Akashi, red eyeswide open, but Midorima continued, “You’re going on alone, distancing all thepeople you’ve around from yourself. Me, included. You’re still the selfish Emperorand I start to doubt you’re ever going to change. You seem perfectly happy withhiding everything from me and with dealing with it by yourself. Well, I’m not.I can’t bear this treatment anymore. I can’t. I’m tired.”

A heavy silence dropped in the room.

Midorima stared at Akashi, waiting for a reaction.Anything was okay. Screaming, punching, insults, blaming, threatening, swingingscissors…anything. He just had to voice his anger. Midorima wanted to know whathe had closed up in himself, he wanted to see the mask fall. He had corneredhim now, he couldn’t escape.

But Akashi has stopped working, those words sinking inhim like heavy rocks and sharp blades. Fear and self-hatred had takenpossession of him. He had messed up again, for real this time. He truly felt ashe was still at Teikou. Still not able to understand people around him, failingon and on. He could never save himself, he just dragged the people he cared aboutthe most down with him. He was the egoistic Emperor.

Tears spilled from his read eyes and he couldn’t stopthem this time, streaming down his pale cheeks. He heard the laughter of hisother-self, ringing in his ears.

Midorima opened his eyes wide, startled, and froze inhis place. He had never seen Akashi crying.

“I’m sorry…” the boy murmured, voice cracked by pain,and, before Midorima could do anything, he escaped from the kitchen. He openedthe door of the apartment and tumbled in the corridors, running down towardsthe exit. His mind had gone blank, the beating of his heart deafened him andevery inch of his body was hurting and shaking. He rushed out the building insearch of fresh air but it didn’t made him lucid like he hoped, the raindrenched him immediately. A hard, mocking slap against his lost face. The skywas crying with him, the wind was as cold as he felt inside. He ran away,desperate and without knowing where to go. He just didn’t want to hearMidorima’s voice pronouncing the words of his nightmares: “We’re done.”

 Midorima remained paralyzed for a few seconds more. Infront of his eyes, he was still seeing the pained expression of Akashi, hispleading, scared eyes. The trembling lips, the clenched fists. The regrets onhis face. It was like he’d stabbed him, right in the heart.

This is not what he wanted.

He wanted to force him to open, to vent his anger.

“I broke him…” whispered, realization kicking in. Arush of nausea hit him. He didn’t want to make Akashi cry, he didn’t want tobreak him…he just wanted to know how to help him, how to support him, how tomake him happy. He wanted to be scolded and to be taught how to be by his sideproperly. He wanted Akashi to open up with him.

“Fuck!” he muttered, finally moving. A rush ofadrenaline flowing in his body. He ran out of the apartment, chasing hisboyfriend. The rain hit him hard in the face, clouding his visions but hedidn’t even bothered cleaning the glasses. He looked around, but Akashi wasn’tin sight anymore.

“He can’t be too far…” he mumbled breathlessly, hopingwith all his might to be right. A confused and shattered Akashi couldn’t bereasoning or functioning properly, so he had to be near. Trusting his instinct,he started running left.

Every step he took without seeing his red hair was aneedle stabbing his heart, every turn taken without any idea of where he wasgoing was another regret. Why he had to explode like that? Why he couldn’t dealwith it like always? Why they had to arrive at this point? What if it was thepoint of no return?

They had been two idiots, but Midorima wasn’t ready tolet got. He had already done it in the past, he didn’t want to lose Akashi’shand to his demons again.

Finally, he saw Akashi, staggering on the walkpath asif he was going to collapse soon. The gods had to have taken a likening tothem, since Midorima didn’t even know where they were. But it didn’t matter, hejust rushed towards the boy.

“Seijuurou!” he called, wet clothes glued to his bodyslowing him down.

Akashi, at the sound of his voice, jostled and triedto steady himself, running faster; luckily for Midorima, his body didn’trespond the way he wanted and the boy could catch up. He wrapped one arm aroundhis shoulders and the other around the slender waist, caging Akashi against hischest to stop him from running.

“LET ME GO!” Akashi shouted crouched, struggling andstartling Midorima, who had never heard him screaming like that; but the greenhaired boy didn’t let him go, tightening his hold.

“I’m sorry Seijuurou, I’m sorry.” He repeated in hisear to calm him down, resting his forehead on his shoulder. Akashi didn’t stopwiggling out of his grip, but Midorima was too strong in that moment and he tooweak-willed. He started sobbing though his teeth, cursing himself. What was heeven doing?

“I didn’t want to break you,” Midorima continued,hoping to reach him in time, “I didn’t want to make you desperate. I wished foryou to be angry with me, to vent your anger. You never complain aloud aboutanything, even when it’s clear you have something to say, but I can’t read yourmind. And I can’t be a better boyfriend if you don’t talk to me properly, Ican’t understand what to do to make you feel better. Please Seijuurou, stopfighting. I don’t want to lose you.” He whispered desperately, finallyloosening his hold. If he still wanted to run away, he was free.

Akashi held back his breath, the words of his guyfinally sinking in. Blinking, he did as he was asked, relaxing his limbsagainst his chest. Relief washed him over, finally understanding they were notgoing to break up, and a new stream of tears flowed out of his eyes. Or, maybeit was the heavy rain, he didn’t know anymore.

“I thought,” explained in a faint voice, “That youwanted to break up with me.”

Midorima growled.

“No, thank you.” Answered without doubts. Akashi couldfeel his heartbeat pounding against his back. Slowly, he turned to face him andgripped his drenched shirt, resting his head against him. The words escaped hislips in an angry, desperate, confused flow.

“I hate when I woke up and you’re not with me becauseyou’ve gone outside to buy the lucky item of the day. I hate that I’m always toone to take the initiative. I hate that you never say if you like my cooking ornot. I hate that you never take me to a basketball date. I hate that I’m stillbounded by the fear of losing you, of being abandoned because I’m not humanenough. I hate that I’ve not changed.” Confessed trembling, letting every,single thing had ever annoyed him roll down his tongue.

Midorima showed a faint smile, resting the chin on hishead and let him talk freely.

“Forget what I’ve said about you not changing, I wentoverboard because I was mad.” Explained softly, “And every time you feelinsecure, say it aloud. I’m never going to abandon you again. I love you toomuch.” Added with flushed cheeks, in an embarrassed whisper.

This brought, finally, a warm smile on Akashi’s lips.Those words were the balsam to his shattered soul.

“For the rest, I’m going to work on them. I promise.”Midorima continued, loosening his grip around him and pulling away to hold hishand, delicately interlacing their fingers.

“I’ve more.” Akashi warned him with a tentative,amused smirk and Midorima rolled his eyes, fixing his glasses; then he startedwalking and pulled him by his side.

“I guessed. We’ve all the time we want when we’rehome. And dried and warmed, if possible.” Reassured him, finally feeling thelong awaited calm and relief filling him, “W-we can take a bath together i-ifyou want…” offered blushing heavily, but trying to “take the initiative” tomake him happy.

Akashi let out a soft chuckling, beginning to findabsurd all the motives due to which he had always restrained himself withMidorima.

“I’d love too.” Answered genuinely giddy.

“T-that’s good.”

“Shintarou?” from his voice, Midorima could alreadytell that he was smiling wide.

“Yes?”

“Thank you.”

Aokise Relationship Headcanons:

-Kise is in love with Aomine from the start. For Kisehe’s the person who changed his life. Aomine too, but he didn’t understand itat first; he just categorizes Kise as one of his best friends and the player hedesires to play against the most.

-Aomine confesses first in the end, in a very bluntand Aomine-like way. Why? Because Kise is our typical boisterous and cheerfulon the outside, but insecure and scared on the inside guy. He’s good at sayingthings superficially or joking around, being clingy and all…but not with his crush.With his crush, he is helpless. He blushes, he stutters, he is surprised by everylittle tiny gestures and thinks he’s never enough, he doesn’t see the obvious…So, in the end, when Aomine understands that the boy is head over heels for him,he is just like

“Uhm, Oi Kise.Cut it off and go out with me.” With red cheeks, scratching his nape andaverting his eyes. Simple and fast, in the middle of nowhere in a typical,normal day. Maybe immediately after playing with the rest of The GoM, causing aruckus.

“WHAT?” Kisescreams widening his eyes.

Momoi breaksin a cry of joy after years of observing and cheering on the oblivious duo,Murasakibara stops eating, Midorima blushes and freezes, stuttering, and Akashicalls immediately his staff to organize an Engagement Party. Kuroko startssnapping photos at the idiotic duo and Kagami feels the need to cry inexasperation because they were soobvious and complains to get over this quickly because he wants to playagain.

-At first Kise can’t believe it and need Aomine to beloud and clear but then, then he’s on cloud nine. He’s a ball of sunshine andhyperactivity for entire days, so much that Aomine would be annoyed by it if hewasn’t so in love with the blonde.

-Kise is always the insecure one about theirrelationship, but every time Aomine forces him to look into his eyes andpronounce “I love you”, every doubt vanishes. Because Aomine’s eyes are clearand so honest, you cannot not believe in him.

-The first kiss is a result of their mutual efforts.During the first date, Kise tries everything to win a kiss: leaning towards Aomine,licking his lip, eating cherries, hugging…no result. Aomine simply thinks he ishot as usual. In the end Kise has to tug his sleeve and beg under his breathfor a kiss, pouting. Aomine, who was already planning to kiss him on thedoorstep, blushes and bends to kiss him as he deserves.

-Well, it’s a clumsy kiss. A bit awkward, a bit toopassionate and rough like Aomine is. But Kise will never forget it.

-Aomine is a cat. He does things when he wants andwhen he feels like, don’t caring about the rest. Kise is in the middle of thekitchen, with only an apron, trying to seduce him? If he’s doing something else(ex. watching a match on TV) or he’s not in the mood, he’s not going to evenreact. Is Kise trying to study quietly at the table but damn, the way he tiltshis head…? After five minutes, Aomine has picked him up and closed him in the bedroom.Are he and Kise in front of his mother? He doesn’t care, if Kise is being cutehe’s going to kiss the hell out of him on spot.

-First date? Absolutely a basketball date. One on one,just the two of them until their bodies can’t move anymore.

-Aomine always walks Kise home every time.

“Aominecchi, I’mnot a girl.”

“I know, Inoticed you don’t have boobs. But you’re weak and don’t know how to throw agood punch.”

Truth is, Aomine is always scared guys like Haizakicould appear.

-Even more true, the scary one is actually Kise. Hedoesn’t fight and he’s not intimidating, but one sly smile of his can freezethe blood in your veins. Girls better keep their hands off.

-Aomine is not worried at all about Kise’s fangirls,he knows the boy loves him, so he takes advantage of it and stares at theirboobs.

“Only becauseI’m in love with you, it doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate beauty when I see it.”

But if fanboys or random guys try to make a move onhim, Aomine becomes coldly possessive. A casual arm around Kise’ shoulders anda feral glare are the usual tactic.

-Kise is the more active one and always plans funny anddifferent dates for the two of them. Part of his planning is also thinking howto slyly lure Aomine out of their room and his comfort zone.

-Aomine gets mad if Kise calls him “Aominecchi” whenthey’re in private or during intimate moments. He wants to be called by his ownname and he does the same with Kise.

-When they argue, Kise always takes refuge at Kurokoand Kagami’s apartment. He whines and cries until a) Aomine comes to pick himup by force b) Kuroko and Kagami are exasperated and call Aomine to threatenhim to apologize and pick up his boyfriend

-Aomine’s nightmare are Momoi and Kise’ shoppingafternoons. Every time he swears it’s the last time. Every time he ends upagain hitting the shops and holding the bag for more than four hours straight.

-Kise is the perfect house-wife: cleaning, cooking andwashing. Aomine is spoiled, no need to say, but at least always helps Kisewashing the dishes (because he likes doing it together) and fixes things oropens jars (even if Kise is perfectly able to do it alone)

-Kuroko calls them The Baka Duo, since they have bothhorrible grades and are incapable to study together; they always end up doingsomething else. Each other, to be precise.

-Aomine is the big spoon, but unfortunately, Kisemoves so much during his sleep that they wake up in absurd positions at morning.

-Aomine is weak to Kise’s sudden bright smile or the wayhis eyes shine when Aomine surprises him with small gestures. Kise is weak ingeneral to Aomine, especially when he does sexy things without realizing. Likethe way he takes off his shirt or flexes his arms while stretching before amatch.

-They never, nevergo easy on each other when playing basketball.

-Kise plans to ask Aomine to marry him after havingdefeat him for the first time one on one. I spoiler to you that Aomine is goingto propose first and when Kise would explain his idea, he’s going to laugh andsay that than it’s a good thing he took actions before they were too old.
