This Time on Yu-Gi-Oh Vrains Analysis: How the Fuck Did Aoi's Writing Get Worse
Got sidetracked by GX Week, but I'm back to talk about Aoi again, because oh boy...
So for season 1, I'd heard the rumors of how they screwed her over, and they were mostly in line with the ways I expect Yugioh female characters to be failed by the writers. Overall I still liked Aoi and, while I found some decisions distasteful, I didn't think the actual quality of her writing was worse than other characters'.
Aoi's writing in season 2 is several times worse than it was in season 1. It's truly a disaster, amateurish and baffling, in a way that I think most viewers don't even consciously realize. And while it may not be the worst moment in Yugioh -- it is, in my opinion, the worst writing I've ever seen in Yugioh.
Anyway, that's how I wrote 4k words descending into Aoi madness. Enjoy!

Before I begin, a fair warning: I'm gonna say some harsh things in this post. Because being mean is funny, and I deserve it after what I just watched.
But I also want say up front that I don't think the Vrains writers are bad writers, and I still have respect for them. Writing for children's television is grueling work that I could never do, and there are many reasons why bad art is released into the world besides simple writing skill. Vrains clearly had a troubled production, and I have other suspicions about why it turned out the way it did. If there's interest, I think that could be its own post, too.
Also, I refer to the "writers" in this post when I criticize Vrains's storytelling, but to be clear, directors, producers, storyboarders, and others can have just as much influence over the show's story as writers, or even more so. I use the term writers for convenience's sake.
Without further ado...
⇀ Losing My Mind Immediately
Akira lets Aoi go into the restricted area, which nobody has ever returned from.
Ahem... WHO ARE YOU??? Why is Akira, overprotective onii-san numero uno, extremely willing to put his sister on house arrest for her own safety, has never given Aoi his permission to fight, suddenly letting her go off into a danger zone with a 0% survival rate, right after she lost to Spectre immediately in the Tower of Hanoi conflict.
Oh, so now you think she's capable? Why???
Not only that, they make Ghost Girl be the one to say it's too dangerous for her. What?? Ghost Girl is the one who encouraged Aoi to sneak out and into the danger zone in season 1. These are literally the last two characters who would say these things to Aoi.
Then, when they enter the restricted area, Aoi immediately gives up her emergency logout program to an NPC. Normally I'd brush this off. Naivety being used to emphasize female characters' moral virtuosity is passé, but it's not a big deal. It wouldn't be, if the next 30 seconds didn't make me completely go off the rails. This is the speech that is possibly the worst writing, line by line, that I have ever seen in Yugioh.
Roll the tape...
Aoi: Recent events have taught me that I'm still a child. I took on Hanoi for my brother, but look how that turned out. I troubled everyone, and they needed to save me. I was full of myself, thinking I can do anything on my own, but in truth, the world is full of people and we're all connected. Everyone saved me. So this time, I want to save everyone. I'll become stronger, so this time, I'll do everything I can!
Literally none of these sentences make sense... Half of them aren't even true. It reads like ChatGPT asked to write a shonen speech -- the facade of being inspiring, but ultimately empty and nonsensical.
"I took on Hanoi for my brother," This is blatantly false. She had a whole goddamn episode focused on why she decides to fight Hanoi, it's her duel with Baira, and it's specifically about how she's not doing this for her brother, she's not doing this for herself, she's doing this for everyone. If anything, she disregards her brother in order to fight Hanoi.
Blue Angel: I learned something from my duels. When people believe in you, you're fighting for everyone. So I will fight for everyone from now on!
Sound familiar? It's the same goddamn thing she's saying right now, "this time, I want to save everyone." Why are they framing this as Aoi having a new realization, having learned her lesson? What they demonstrate with this is that Aoi hasn't learned her lesson. The reason she lost to Spectre is because trying to save everyone includes trying to save him, and he takes advantage of her naivety.
Blue Angel: You're the same as me... When you were alone, you sought love, and Blue Angel's blue is the ultimate love! Blue Angel will descend into your heart, and save your soul! Spectre: Really? *bows mockingly* Please, then, save my soul!
Naively trying to save others is exactly what she's doing right now, by thoughtlessly giving away her emergency logout in a place that nobody has ever returned from. Her character has gone completely backwards. I said in my last post that losses are good because we get to see characters grow -- I stand by the opinion that they could have made the Spectre loss work -- but they've bungled it on three different levels. She loses horribly, then they retcon her reason for losing, in order to make her character regress.
Apparently, the real reason Aoi lost to Spectre, is because "she was full of herself, thinking she could do anything on her own." I'm so mad. First of all, Aoi clearly wasn't acting on her own and never thought she was, Go and Yusaku were both fighting Hanoi too. Why are they acting like Aoi lost because of hubris?
You know who thought he could do everything on his own? Yusaku. But clearly he didn't need to learn that "the world is full of people and we're all connected." He clearly believed the opposite, because he did everything by himself and tried to reject allyship at every turn and yet lo and behold, he hasn't lost a single duel.
"Everyone saved me. So this time, I want to save everyone." NO, LITERALLY ONE PERSON SOLO'D HANOI, AND EVERYONE ELSE DID JACK SHIT. This resolution that Aoi comes to not only regresses her character, but it makes no goddamn sense. Who is the everyone you're talking about, Aoi? Are they in the room with us right now?
Who am I kidding, it's obvious who the "everyone" is, because as she says it, the clip that plays is Akira's manpain as Aoi gets turned into data. Because even in this moment that has nothing to do with Akira, the writers cannot resist bending Aoi's character to revolve around how much she loves her beloved onii-san, even though it makes no sense in this context of trying to save a random NPC.
Frankly, the whole "everyone saved me" also makes no sense in the context of trying to save a random NPC. But like, even less sense than that, because the actual context of this "heartfelt" shonen speech is that she's trying to get Ghost Girl to give up her emergency logout button. Ghost Girl, established to be self-serving and willing to throw others under the bus to advance herself. Why does this speech convince her? It doesn't even have anything to do with her.
Great, so now not only have they botched Aoi's character, but for the rest of the show, Ghost Girl is stripped of the characteristics that actually made her engaging.
If they wanted Aoi to convince Ghost Girl to give up her escape program and become more selfless, it's simple. Have her say, "We saved you." Ghost Girl wouldn't be standing here right now, if Aoi and the others hadn't risked everything to save everyone.
There's more I could pick on about these 30 seconds, like how the writers aren't content with handing Aoi a humiliating loss, but they also make her act like she deserved to be "humbled" by that experience: "Recent events have taught me that I'm still a child," "I troubled everyone, and they needed to save me." It's like they're not content with infantilizing her in the narrative, they need to make sure she infantilizes herself.
Which brings me back to the point about Aoi's "hubris." Because what is implied by saying that Aoi lost because of hubris when nothing she said or did suggested that, is that it was hubris for Aoi to fight at all. It was hubris for Aoi, and the audience, to believe she could do anything. Which is just maddening.
And to top it all off, to add insult to indignity to injury to insanity, she finishes her speech by saying, "I'll become stronger! This time, I'll do everything I can!"
AND THEN. SHE LOSES. IN THE NEXT EPISODE.
This speech reads like a bad influencer apology. First they "admit" their mistake (that Blue Angel didn't do anything in the Hanoi fight), then they deflect and change the story about what actually happened (it's because she was being full of herself! That's definitely why she lost), and finally they promise to do better (don't worry, this season, Aoi will get stronger and get some wins!), but they don't.
I can talk more about how the writers give Aoi shallow girlboss speeches instead of actually demonstrating her strength in duels, but that will come when I talk about Blue Maiden.
Right now... it's time to talk about Blue Girl vs. Soulburner.
⇀ What's in a re-introductory duel?
Something that's pretty standard in Yugioh is the concept of the season 2 "re-introductory duel." Think Shou's promotion duel in GX, the filter episodes that came before the World Grand Prix arc started, the Sector Security battle royale in Arc-V. They can be story-relevant, or completely filler, but the point is to re-familiarize you with the main supporting characters. If you look at the first 10 episodes of a Yugioh season 2, you'll generally see all the main supporting characters represented in a duel. And if they aren't, it may reveal something about how relevant they are to the writers (Misawa GX, Ruka 5D's, Yuzu Arc-V...)
Go gets his re-introductory duel against Soulburner, and though I have my issues with how they handled Go in Season 2, which I went into in my previous post, it succeeds in every way a re-introductory duel should. It addresses the transition of his character between seasons, sets up his conflict for this season, introduces his new cards, adds character to Soulburner, and establishes a dynamic between the two. Their opposition is natural, and if anything, the season fails to capitalize on how well this duel set things up.
Aoi's re-introductory duel... is also against Soulburner. And their opposition... uh...
Look, I'll be frank, there is only one reason for Soulburner to duel Aoi, his third duel already in 10 episodes: they are fast-tracking him into main character slot #2. I talked about this in the Soulburner analysis.
Aoi and Soulburner have no reason to be fighting, this match-up is completely artificial. They went "well Aoi needs to get a re-introductory duel because that's the Yugioh formula, and Soulburner needs more screentime, so let's shove them together," regardless of how it doesn't make narrative sense. How do they do that?
Blue Girl: We came to find the Ignis. SOL-- I mean, my brother can help you. Soulburner: You don't understand. The Lost Incident made us suffer for a long time. SOL Technologies was partly responsible for that. Entrust our future to them? Thanks, but we'll solve our own problems. Blue Girl: *frowning* In that case, those Ignis originally belonged to SOL Technologies. Give them back. Soulburner: What?
This is completely out of character for her. She knows that they're victims of the Lost Incident, she knows what they've been through, and they've just told her they're trying to save someone whose consciousness was stolen. She just said that her motivation is saving people, specifically to pay back the people who saved her. Guess who the only person who saved you was, Aoi? It wasn't your onii-san.
It would've made more sense for Ghost Girl to duel Soulburner. She's the one who was established to be a self-serving bounty hunter in Season 1. Oh, but if you gave Ghost Girl a re-introductory duel, it might give off the wrong impression that she's relevant?
This duel doesn't even add anything to Soulburner's character either, the way that Soulburner vs. Go did.
What could they have done if they were actually thinking about Aoi?
How about Aoi vs. Akira? Akira tells her that if she can beat him in a duel, he'll believe that she's strong enough to go into the restricted zone. Or they could do Aoi vs. Ghost Girl -- same thing, Ghost Girl tells Akira that if Aoi wins, it proves she's equally capable of going on this mission.
Either of these would check all the boxes for a re-introductory duel. It's a memorable matchup, it re-establishes the personalities and (IN-CHARACTER) relationships of these three, and it addresses the transition between seasons -- we left off from Aoi's devastating loss, and this duel would bridge her into an upwards character arc in Season 2.
Of course, if they did that, they would have to make an upwards character arc for Aoi.
These two episodes have succeeded in the exact opposite of what a re-introductory episode is supposed to do. It's a garbage fire of bad writing. They regress her character, and call it progress. She's out of character, in order to be unsympathetic. They don't set up an arc for Aoi this season, because they haven't thought of one. They introduce new cards that never come back. But none of it matters anyway, because Aoi isn't actually important! We'll just make up something new the next time we're contractually obligated to give her a few episodes (but not too many, god forbid!)
I guess there's one part of her character they make consistent, which is making her lose in the worst ways possible.
⇀ Blue Girl vs. Soulburner
You know how in my last Aoi post, I said that it's good when characters lose duels, and that "X should have won that duel" is a comment that often misunderstands how outcomes are about narrative purpose rather than deck matchups?
Forget everything I said. Aoi ABSOLUTELY should have won that duel holy shit. I just witnessed a goddamn crime.
So there is actually one more reason that Soulburner duels Aoi. It's that it's a good concept for a duel. Aoi should annihilate Soulburner. Go ahead with your 72 step Salamangreat combo I dare you. Go ahead and use Burning Draw I dare you. Everyone likes seeing how the underdog comes out of a pinch, and if I came out of the duel thinking, "Wow, I can't believe Soulburner pulled that off!" I could have forgiven it.
Ha ha... wow..... I can't believe Soulburner pulled that off......
I'm not usually that bothered by hyper specific made up anime cards, but what the fuck is that trap that negates effect damage under 300. Countering exactly 1) Skull Invitation 2) Ojama Trio 3) Every one of Aoi's cards. Yeah okay, fuck you Aoi.
And Aoi still should have won, if Soulburner didn't one-up Aoi's own Fusion Summon by Burning Draw YOLO topdecking a fucking Salamangreat Super Poly out of nowhere. Why??? Because the scripter couldn't think of a way out of the situation other than copying one of the strongest cards ever designed?? Fuck you Aoi.
Even Ghost Girl knows how robbed she was.
It's salt on the wound to cap off her "I'll get stronger speech" by having her lose a duel that was 99-1 in her favor. Soulburner deletes her life points in one attack, she screams and gets slammed into a cliff, and Soulburner stands over her and says, "Blue Girl, you're stronger than before."
Jesus, just look at that condescending framing.
Aoi doesn't show up again in a relevant capacity for 20 episodes, and doesn't have another duel for 30 -- that's a quarter of Vrains. Her last words as Soulburner stands over her are "You won because of the bond between a duelist and an AI?" before she passes out.
This, I suppose, is their weak attempt at introducing a plot for Aoi this season. It's... well...
⇀ Aqua and Miyu
The Miyu backstory is lazy as hell.
I'm sorry to all the fans rooting for female characters and wlw ships, but this writing was unbelievably sloppy. Someone put "Aoi's childhood friend was a victim of the Lost Incident and that's how she gets the Water Ignis" into the show notes and then didn't think about it until it was time to write the episode.
Miyu is not a cardboard cutout. She's not cut from cardstock, both of those at least have structural integrity. Miyu has the character solidness of wet tissue. She's an NPC, a parody of a generic little girl. The only reason to care about her is if you buy into the cheap writing shortcut of damselling little girls, or you're a desperate lesbian. I'm sorry, lesbians.
They could have done anything to give Miyu an actual character, I'm not asking for a lot. Give her any kind of trait or interest -- maybe she loves the ocean and shows Aoi her collection of seashells, and she says they should go to the beach together one day but they never do. They could talk about idols, and maybe that's what inspires Aoi to later become one. They could talk about Duel Monsters, it's Yugioh for christsake. A playground duel would be adorable.
There's a million things they could have done that are more compelling than playing on the slide, but there's one that's so obvious it pains me.
The Blue Angel picture book. The one that Aoi said was her childhood treasure in the duel with Spectre, the one that motivated her to try and save him, a victim of the Lost Incident. The book that's an established part of her backstory, which made her take on the Blue Angel moniker. The book that's about a girl who is all alone until she makes friends and no longer has to cry blue tears.
Could it be more obvious? Have Miyu be the one who gave the book to Aoi. It's a backstory on a silver platter. If the writers cared about Aoi at all, if they didn't immediately forget every single thing about her the second they turn in the script for the contractually obligated Aoi episodes, they would know this. But they don't. Because even the Blue Angel picture book was clearly something they made up on the spot.
Imagine if Aoi's season 2 climax duel was vs. a controlled Miyu (à la Jin), the themes from the Spectre duel returned. Aoi questions if she really can save someone from the Lost Incident, or if it's just her own naivety, destined to be crushed over and over. But she breaks through, because this time it's her turn to save someone who's all alone. This is how you connect seasons 1 and 2, this is how you take a loss and turn it into a payoff. We can even get Spectre's perspective, he's there in the final fight.
But that's not what we get. Instead, they play on the slide, and then Miyu drops a ring down a drain, which I guess is what they think is a relatable cause of conflict for little girls. I can guarantee they would have come up with something more substantive if these were two male characters. And the pacing is just comically clunky. "Aoi-chan, look, it's my mother's ring! Isn't it pretty? Oh no, I dropped it! Wahhhhh!"
Aoi lies to Miyu's mom and says she's the one who dropped the ring, even though Miyu denies it vehemently, clearly crying and in great distress as her mother drags her away and never lets her see Aoi again.
This, we're told, is how Aoi "saved" Miyu.
Aqua: While she was imprisoned, you kept her strong, Aoi. No matter how many duels she lost, no matter how much pain she endured, even after her meals were reduced, she never broke and promised to escape. So she could see you again and apologize for that day.
.........APOLOGIZE FOR WHAT???
What the fuck kind of message is this supposed to be? Aqua is supposed to be the Ignis of TRUTH, why are she and Miyu glorifying Aoi's lie as some courageous, inspirational action, when clearly it did nothing but harm? I'm not crazy, am I? The obvious takeaway from this flashback is that even if you had good intentions lying to protect your friend, it caused miscommunication, distress, and led to their friendship breaking apart? Like, their lives would have been just fine if Aoi didn't lie, and Miyu learned a reasonable lesson about not being careless with other people's expensive objects?
This backstory is comically bad. Just imagine Miyu, going through kidnapping, starvation, and torture, sustained only by the thought that one day... she can tell the girl that she played on the slide with years ago... that she's so sorry... that her hand slipped when taking off a ring and it rolled into a drain 5 feet away.
The story would make more sense if it was me in the Lost Incident, and I was plagued by guilt over dumping Cheeto crumbs on Rachel from Pre-K, because at least I actually did something bad.
It's difficult to even articulate how much all these sloppy writing decisions compound on each other. Because they wasted Aoi's introductory episodes and didn't set up anything for her, she has no role in the story for 30 episodes. Because she was given nothing for 30 episodes, they have to shove an entire backstory for Aoi into one episode. Because they shoved the backstory into one episode, Miyu and Aoi's relationship with her are painfully rushed, generic, and flimsy. Because their relationship is so flimsy, this whole backstory, Aoi's motivation to fight, her entire season 2 plotline, is soulless garbage.
Aoi didn't remember Miyu until this episode. The writers didn't create Miyu until this episode. You cannot ask the audience to be invested in Aoi rescuing Miyu, when you don't even care enough to conceptualize her.
And this is the most damning conclusion of this post. The writers don't care about Miyu. And they don't care about Aoi. And they don't care if you care about them. You weren't meant to care about them.
Again, I'm not saying that the Vrains writers are bad writers, or they hate women. There are other factors to consider, like the specifics of gender relations in Japan, how Yugioh animes primarily exist to advertise trading cards to young boys, the fact that there has not been a single female writer on Yugioh since season 2 of GX. And obviously, Vrains had production issues, and every character suffered from flawed writing.
But my point is, Aoi suffered the most for it.
⇀ Final Thoughts
There's a lot more that I could say about Aoi for the rest of the show. Like how she gets a magical girl transformation sequence, only to be irrelevant for 10 episodes again, and we have to wait that entire time to see her new deck. Then the duel, which really needed to be a two-episoder, is about Haru instead. The pointlessness of the Bohman duel. The pointlessness of Yusaku's "identity reveal" to Aoi. How they needed to have a third and fourth Akira manpain scene as Aoi is "taken away" from him, though I guess in that last one Aoi gets to have some girlpain too.
I did plan to talk about each of these duels, and more about how I would do an Aoi vs. Miyu conflict, but this post has gotten way out of hand already, and I've made the points I wanted to make.
I hope it was cathartic for everyone who was disappointed with Aoi, and perhaps gave language to people who were frustrated but unable to articulate why. I did some research into what other people have said about Aoi's character, such as this video by YugiohEverything, but I find that a lot of discourse in Yugioh is not very good at pinpointing why something works or doesn't work, and the actual skill of writing is oversimplified. This is especially true when it comes to Yugioh girls, and criticisms tend to fall back on losing duels or getting put in a coma, and while those can suck, they aren't the real problem.
In my last Aoi post I said "I'll just have to hope that they don't fumble whatever new thing they give her... but things tend to get bleaker for female Yugioh characters as the show goes on and whatever initial involvement they had in the story fizzles out," and this, I think, has been the real problem persistently for Yugioh girls. The writers are contractually obligated to come up with something when a series is first pitched, but when that period is up, or when concessions have to be made, the female characters are the first to be forgotten.
I just didn't think it would be this bad for Aoi.

Sean bienvenidos japonistasarqueológicos, a una nueva entrega de arqueología nipona en esta ocasión os hablaré del castillo de Sunpu que se encuentra en la ciudad de Shizuoka, en la Prefectura de Shizuoka. - El castillo de Sunpu, fue en el lugar en donde vivó, Ieyasu Tokugawa en los siglos XVI-XVII, donde pasó sus últimos años de vida, las ruinas de las torres del castillo que se construyeron con diferentes métodos de construcción durante el período Sengoku y el período Edo. - Sunpu Castle Park es uno de los lugares turísticos representativos de la ciudad de Shizuoka es un parque que utiliza las ruinas del castillo, macizo de flores Aoi lleva el logo de la familia de Tokugawa como proyecto conmemorativo del 400 aniversario de Ieyasu Tokugawa. El área está bajo excavación, se encuentra en la zona noroeste y se está realizando actualmente la excavación de la torre del castillo. - Hay una parte del castillo que está muy reconstruida y que se puede visitar con un módico precio, dado que el segundo piso y los superiores no se pueden abrir al público debido a la ley de construcción, el piso se quita para que la estructura se pueda ver desde abajo. - La Puerta Este/Tatsumi Yagura, está rodeada por un foso y está cerca de la estación Shin-Shizuoka. This time I will be talking about Sunpu Castle, located in the city of Shizuoka, Shizuoka Prefecture. - Sunpu Castle was the place where Ieyasu Tokugawa lived in the 16th-17th centuries, where he spent the last years of his life. The ruins of the castle towers were built with different construction methods during the Sengoku and Edo periods. - Sunpu Castle Park is one of the representative tourist sites of Shizuoka City is a park that uses the ruins of the castle, Aoi flowerbed bears the logo of the Tokugawa family as a project commemorating the 400th anniversary of Ieyasu Tokugawa. (please ignore the face I haven'g posted anything for a month :,))
-Megami's turn as she chooses Uno (she wanted to play some fancy game but they couldn't understand the rules so she settled for Uno)
-Akane always get +4s. ALWAYS
-Kuroko gets really low numbers but no +2s or whatever
-Aoi keeps making Shiromi pick up
-Shiromi doesn't get the game and thinks the whole point is to get MORE cards (or she could just be trolling who knows)
-Megami keeps making Aoi pick up or miss a go
-Kuroko is surprisingly good despite having just number cards.
-Aoi is always like, "GUYS GET KUROKO SHE'S WINNING???" and they just... don't?
-Akane is surprisingly calm. Maybe because she's never bad to pick up the entire game
-Shiromi likes to change the colours to annoy people
-Kuroko wins. Akane is second by 4 points. Then Megami by 23 points. Then Aoi by 40 points. Then Shiromi by 1008 points.

I don't want to sound rude and hasty but I'm not sure whether you forgot so I'm just gonna put this here. I also added one more part. This is in reference to the girls dom or sub chart.
1. Sakura's a sub? I mean, I know she said "I too have a heart of a woman" and she was legit embarrassed about being girly before but I kinda feel that Sakura was so stoic that she's neither sub or dom. She's just awesome. 2. Aoi kinda strikes me as both sub and dom. She's definitely a dom to Togami in that she's definitely not gonna let him have his way in any regard but at the same time, in terms of all encompassing general-ness, in terms of romance, Aoi is super embarrassed and shy about it. 3. I have no problem with Maki's position. But I do say she has a big soft spot when Kaito's there. 4. Peko should get a second placement just for a joke. In terms of her love of animals, especially Nyahiru, she should be a Super Dom. 5. I kinda feel Sayaka should be normal Dom cuz while I do see her being super flirty and mischievous and teasing to all of her shojo manga harem, I've definitely seen her easily uno reversed by Makoto and Kyoko and she becomes a embarrassed meek mess. Sayaka's a bit weak to sly romantic affection/teasing herself. 6. I know Narumi's a Literal Kid but you sure she's not already a bonafide Bitch? And 7. I might be wrong but I think I don't see Hiyoko on the chart.
//Okay so this is relating back to the sub/dom list I made for the characters, and the original ask you sent got buried in the box somewhere, so I’m gonna answer it here while I have the chance randomly.
Sakura is a sub WILLINGLY. I feel I should have clarified this because Sakura could absolutely be the dom of doms on this list, but it’s less to do with strength and more to do with the fact that she is (usually) a pretty gentle and sweet person. So in this sort of situation, while she COULD take the lead, she’s very much rather go at her partners pace. After all, I feel she’d be pretty used to people finding her intimidating.
This is true, but from the perspective of Hina’s relationship with Byakuya in general, not just romantically or sexually, they are both characters known for being competitive. One thing that makes their dynamic so interesting is they are competitive people, but are two very different kinds of sports. Hina is a friendly athlete who loves the thrill of the game more than the victory, and is in the scene to make friends, live life, and have fun, but Byakuya on the other hand is driven by a strong desire to be on top alone, and isn’t afraid to kick people down to get there. Put them together in this sort of situation, and the end result is…interesting to say the least.
I think it’s safe to say Kaimaki are switches. Kaito and Maki both feel like they would TRY to be doms, but they are very soft with each other, at least more than they are with other people.
I know this is a joke, but I am constantly feeling the need to remind people that Peko likes petting fluffy creatures, and the reason why she is so crazy over them is because they are usually so intimidated by her intense aura that they don’t approach her (and Nyahiru is scared of her for a very similar reason). Peko does not want to FUCK a fluffy animal. She’s a fur-lover, not a furRY.
Okay, you know what? This is fair. Giving it a bit of thought, it’s hilarious because in the Naegibowl, Sayaka is actually all three. She’s a dom for Makoto, a sub for Kyoko, and a switch for Mukuro because Mukuro is normally really shy, but if she decides to take the lead, Sayaka couldn’t fucking do ANYTHING to stop her and her ripped as hell abs.
Okay, yes she is, but I tried not to include the characters who have been stated to be young. At this point, Narumi IS 16, but I didn’t want to chance it.
I’ll have to go back and check, but in case Hiyoko isn’t there, she’s definitely a dom; at least in her current relationship.

Ok hi, i know i havent sent an ask in a while to you but i need this idea to go to someone because something similar happened (only in terms of chaos)

Like, kaito and miu cheating together, ryo is raging because he keeps getting skipped, aoi and takuma trying but failing to calm everyone. Stuff like that
A long time ago I hced that Minoru and Kaito have been banned from group game nights after trying to kill each other over Uno and now I feel the need to make this post somehow reach that conclusion alkdfjakj
I love the idea that Takuma would legitimately accidentally keep screwing Minoru over just because they sat next to each other. Like his only card that's a matching color is a +2, or he'll accidentally change the color before Minoru can put a card down. He keeps apologizing, even offers to skip his own turn because he feels so bad. Unfortunately Minoru is now out for blood.
You're so big brained ngl it would be so funny if Miu and Kaito looked at each other's cards and were purposely trying to help each other (e.g. changing the color to what the other needs if they get a wild card, or holding onto +4 cards until the rotation changes so they only get the others sitting next to them and not each other). They're not above screwing each other over if they have to put a card down, though. They both still wanna win.
The same way Takuma keeps accidentally giving Minoru cards, Shuuji keeps accidentally skipping Ryo. Saki, on the other hand, is purposely skipping Ryo because she thinks it's funny watching him slowly lose his mind. He picked the wrong two people to sit between.
Aoi tries to be a peacekeeper and be like maybe you should try to hold onto your next skip card until someone plays a reverse even though she's the one sitting on Saki's other side and would be the one getting skipped. Unfortunately, the offer is so sweet that Saki is only more unwilling to skip her, and the net result is Ryo getting hit by even more skips and reverses. He hasn't put down or even picked up a single card in ten minutes.
Everyone thought Ryo would be the first one to flip his shit UNTIL Minoru ends up getting Miu with a +4 that he was trying to save for Takuma, but someone played a reverse and he ran out of cards that matched the current color. So now MIU is out for blood.
Sibling cheating mode increases bc now Kaito is purposely setting Miu up to keep hitting Minoru with +2 and skip cards (drawing cards even if he already has the right color just to change it to the color Miu needs). Bc of course he would throw the game if meant getting at back at the person who +4'ed his sister. Minoru catches on and tries to call him on it, but he keeps denying it.
Minoru completely forgets operation "vengeance against Takuma" and starts targeting Miu instead (he would go after Kaito, but he's sitting too far away, and Takuma won't help him cheat), which swiftly leads to The Incident that gets him and Kaito banned from game night.
I ended up making a seating chart lmao

Hey have some random Trigger Happy Havoc Headcanons for the Surviving Six (TW!!)
Yasuhiro
He used to play DND, but he can't anymore because the chance of his character dying gives him too much anxiety.
He will kick your ass at UNO. Kyoko has beat him once and she's the only one. He likes hosting game night because it gives him an excuse to make homemade sushi and drink cheap sake.
He had severe PTSD flashbacks when they saved the world for good. He finally felt safe enough to try to heal. The rest of the gang didn't know how bad he was struggling until no one could get ahold of him for three days and Togami literally almost broke his door down.
As Ultimate Clairvoyant, he can see their dead classmates but not in the way you'd think. He sees shadows in the corner and knows it's one of them; there's no rhyme or reason or evidence, he just knows.
He has to learn to sort through his anxiety vs his gut feelings. He never truly trusted any of them until after they were free.
He loves babysitting Makoto and Kyoko's kids. They're a fantastic distraction and give him hope.
Toko
Do not play Scrabble with Toko. You will lose.
Her crush on Togami faded after a while, going from pretty clingy to very independent with Komaru as her best friend. In return, Togami went from always being annoyed with her presence to sometimes missing her when she was gone for long periods of time.
Her PTSD affected her eating habits, and not in good ways. Komaru had to help her re-learn how to eat properly and how to listen to her body.
This turned into a learning curve for both Toko and Syo, as both had never had a support system before now. When Komaru learned this, she went to Togami asking if he knew a good therapist. Within thirty minutes he had an appointment lined up for her with the option of Komaru being able to go with for the first session.
Syo's obsession with Togami turned into respect. After everything that they'd been through, he helped Toko by giving her a job and healthcare.
Genocide Jack was never heard of again. Syo and Toko ended up helping Komaru open up a flower shop and spend their free time writing their shared biography. They host game night in their shared apartment above it and enjoy Komaru's homemade tonkatsu (pork cutlet bowls) for dinner.
Makoto
Is the new principal of Hope's Peak! He's made several changes that have had mixed reviews, but the test scores of his students tell the public that whatever he's doing it's working.
He's great with kids and is the best dad. Kyoko always knows that she can count on him with them if need be.
He instilled Mandatory Game Night once a month; The gang gets back together at one of their places and plays and eats whatever the host chooses. The host and home rotate every month, so everyone chooses a game twice a year. He enjoys hosting because it means they get his favorite cheap pizza for dinner.
He used to get horrific nightmares before Kyoko recommended that they both go to therapy. It helped a lot, and so did running the school. He swears he learns more from running a school than when he actually was in school.
He likes to surprise Kyoko with random date nights where he'll drop off the kids at Komaru's and take her to dinner. Sometimes in the summer Hina will take them off his hands and she'll take them to the pool. She even taught both of them how to swim.
Kyoko knew when he was going to propose because he woke up with the cheekiest smile on his face and told her to clear her schedule the day before.
Aoi
She struggled a lot afterwards, much like Hiro. It got to the point where she became medically depressed. Kyoko figured it out when she realized that during the summer she preferred to stay inside all day - which was completely unlike her. She confronted her about it at her house and helped her gather some resources for her.
Game night at her place is always held in the morning on the weekend where the gang can expect coffee and donuts for breakfast. Her game nights are always the best, and everyone knows that if Hina is hosting it's going to be fun.
Cannot Yahtzee to save her life (me too). Numbers are hard.
Works part time at the flower shop. Gardening helps her escape from her own head.
She made sure that the new Hope's Peak had a shrine dedicated to the students who lost their lives, including the Reserve Course students. The shrine is also open to the public so anyone who wants to can pay their respects.
There was a time when she'd go to the shrine and talk to Sakura's headstone when no one was around. Sometimes it's just about her day, sometimes it's about her depression. She visited less and less as time went on, but she's always there on Obon.
Byakuya
He is banned from Monopoly. He changes up what he makes for dinner on game night, but a good glass of wine is always guaranteed.
He suffers from night terrors, something he's only shared with Hiro after finding him when he was missing. He got very used to swallowing his pride after realizing that he needed help.
He's fucking hilarious. Makoto and, surprisingly, Hina love running errands with him because he says the snarkiest shit under his breath. He and Kyoko have a similar sense of humor, his is just a little darker.
There was one time where he disappeared for a week. He only texted Kyoko that he'd be gone before he got on a plane to France. He spent the week with his phone off, enjoying all the sights and sounds and smells of each town he hopped through. When he came home Hina found him in his office at work and gave him a scolding for not answering his phone for a week; his only response was a small smile before he apologized and swore that it wouldn't happen again. It didn't.
He's weirdly good with Makoto's kids. They'd always been curious about the quietest of the bunch, so when he was visiting, and when Makoto and Kyoko left him alone in the living room, the two brought him the Secret Garden and asked him to read it for them. He was a little reluctant at first, but he obliged. The parents came back with glasses and a pitcher of limeade to see him and the kids sprawled on the couch, reading and listening. Kyoko snuck a picture.
He's happy for the first time in a really, really long time.
Kyoko
She never thought life would be like this. She pictured a life where she was a detective until she retired, but instead she simply helped create a local detective's office and let others take over when she had their children. She's a detective, a wife, and a mom. She's never been happier.
She always plays Clue and makes tempura when it's her turn for game night. They all split a bottle of cheap wine and laugh at whoever ends up being the killer. After hearing about how he couldn't play DND anymore, she asked Hiro if Clue was okay to play due to the concept. Turns out the lack of an emotional attachment really helps, so everyone tries to make it fun and not take it too seriously.
Her PTSD shows in the form of panic attacks. Her first one scared the absolute shit out of Makoto and led to their first conversation of "maybe going to the doctor is a good idea".
She is the best mom. She's much more mellow than Makoto is, but their kids always know that they're very loved.
She regularly checks up on the others and tries to be a good friend. She knows that she has a tendency to isolate herself when she's having problems, so she does her best to work with her needs versus her wants.
Makoto is the first person that she ever truly trusted with her whole self, and the rest of the group sees that. They're all incredibly happy for them.

Aoi invited you back to the beach the next day to spend time with her and, oddly enough, Regina. It wasn't hard to find them. You just had to look for the vixen that took up more of the beach than a bus full of tourists. She was apparently aware of Regina playing her only card to hurt her and played an Uno reverse card by laying down practically on top of her little sister to show off just how much more of her there was. Honestly it was kind of hot having that kind of perspective. You also overheard Aoi whisper "they're mine" which was nice.
Regina excused herself early and left before the day was done, which gave you and Aoi some much needed quiet time. "Meet me over by the docks," Aoi said with a knowing smile. "I need to go get changed." Everything was going exactly how she wanted from what you could tell, which suited you just fine.
Once you had changed yourself, you headed over to find Aoi sitting on top of the boat rental place. "We're going someplace special," she alluded. "You're gonna love it!" Her tail wagged happily. You assumed your usual spot sitting on one of her breasts as she waded into the shallows and then out into the open ocean that barely passed her knees. "The beach is beautiful, and nobody can get to it. The reefs are too dangerous and the shallows will wreck any ships."
As she walked she shed her diving suit to show off a slightly better-fitting swimsuit underneath that let her move a little better. Granted, you could tell she was filling it out more and more as she went, though you were more focused on her explaining the shoals and reefs.
It didn't take long to get to the private island getaway with how big she had gotten, and you spent the day exploring the island while she watched from overhead. She delighted in every small discovery and was thrilled that you were there to help her find things she couldn't by herself. By the time the two of you had gotten tired, or at least you since the bigger she got the more endless her stamina seemed, the sky had sunk low beyond the horizon and she took you back to the mainland.
Several weeks pass with unusually sparse contact, though you just chalked it up to being busy with upcoming exams. Then you got a text at the two month mark, and your eyes bugged out of your head. The picture was clearly taken from a drone, but there was no mistaking it. Your girlfriend was in a courtyard on the campus grounds where a fountain used to be there was a mountain of of her tit. You couldn't believe it. How big was she going to get?
You rushed from the dorms and ran out to look for her. Thankfully, you didn't have to look far. "Hey, Babe!" A familiar voice boomed from ahead. Aoi towered over the buildings and loomed over you, blotting out the sun. "You would not believe the last two months I've had!"

Resúmenes de los capítulos 59 al 62 de Digimon Ghost Game Spoilers
Episodio 59- Jiraiya (15 de enero)
Kiyoshiro Higashimitarai va al campo por trabajo relacionado con TI, donde conoce a Meru Aiba, una mujer con pasatiempos otaku, y se lleva bien con ella de inmediato. Meru invita a Kiyoshiro a ver una actuación juntos, llamada "Kuraishi Sentai Jiraiyaz". Ahí es donde se encuentran con el fantasma del holograma de la rana gigante, TonosamaGekomon, y su secuaz Gekomon. Kiyoshiro aparece con tal vigor que TonosamaGekomon lo confunde con un Jiraiya y pone a Kiyoshiro a la fuerza sobre su espalda para exterminar a los villanos. Cada vez que Kiyoshiro siente miedo, es jalado lentamente hacia la espalda de TonosamaGekomon y pierde la libertad de sus extremidades. Su espalda está cubierta con los rostros de otros humanos que ha absorbido en su cuerpo de esta manera. Mientras tanto, Hiro Amanokawa y compañía. escucha de Meru que se han llevado a Kiyoshiro y ve a la ciudad a buscarlo. Sin embargo, Meru los sigue y encuentra sospechoso su comportamiento.
Episodio 60- Fantasma del agua (22 de enero)
Hiro y compañía. visitan un pueblo costero, donde se encuentran con una extraña lluvia. Cuando las personas están empapadas por esta lluvia, se ahogan y sus cuerpos se endurecen, vomitando agua por la boca y los ojos. La lluvia fue "Agua Digital" creada por un grupo de Hangyomon. La ciudad pronto se sumerge en Digital Water, y Hiro y compañía. refugiarse en un parque en terreno elevado. Ahí es donde se enteran del "objeto parecido a una momia que se descubrió hace dos semanas", y van al santuario donde está apoyado. El objeto parecido a una momia resulta ser Cthyllamon, su cuerpo se secó por estar en tierra. Absorber el agua digital revive a Cthyllamon, y deja a Hiro y Ruli Tsukiyono impotentes, endureciendo sus cuerpos y haciéndolos vomitar agua, antes de unirse a sus secuaces Hangyomon. Cthyllamon tiene como misión hacer que todos los humanos del mundo vomiten agua y se sumerja en el mar de Digital Water. Kiyoshiro y Thetismon los persiguen, pero los ataques de Cthyllamon los ponen casi en peligro de muerte. En ese momento, las voluntades de Kiyoshiro y Thetismon se sincronizan...
Episodio 61- Renacimiento (29 de enero)
La amiga de Ruli, Kotoha, pide reunirse con ella para pedirle un consejo, por lo que va con Hiro y Kiyoshiro a visitarla. Encuentran el cadáver de una mujer tirado en la cama de la habitación del hermano mayor de Kotoha. El nombre de la mujer es Manami, y ella es la prometida del hermano de Kotoha que falleció en un accidente hace unos días. Ruli y compañía. se horrorizan al saber que el hermano de Kotoha trajo el cuerpo de Manami a casa sin decírselo a nadie, y que el cuerpo se mueve solo por la noche. Episodio 62- El piso fantasma (5 de febrero)
El mejor amigo de Ruli, Aoi Udagawa, vive en un edificio de apartamentos de gran altura donde se dice que suceden cosas extrañas. Los residentes están asustados y comienzan a mudarse en masa, mientras que el edificio se llama "Fear Condo" en Internet. Aoi le pide a Ruli que investigue. Cuando Ruli y Aoi llegan al edificio de apartamentos y suben al ascensor, escuchan un sonido sospechoso de un chasquido de la cerradura y el ascensor se detiene en el piso 13.5. Aoi está aterrorizado y dice que no existe tal piso. Cuando las puertas se abren, se encuentran en un lugar extraño que nunca antes habían visto.

Así que al final, aquel proyecto se ha quedado como un mini álbum, del que ciertamente se encontraba un poco celoso, pues ha terminado siendo el más vendido.
Oyó que la boda de Oz sería hoy, así que estaba frente al espejo, tratando de colocarse un corbatín.

Segundo: que pueda percibir el sabor de la comida, era algo que muy rara vez pasaba. Hasta ahora estaba convencido de que solo podía sentir el sabor de la comida dulce.
Pero ahora podía percibir sabores y sentir hambre. Una locura, qué día más extraño.
Haru se acercó a su «padre» cuando vio que la abuela se distrajo hablando con otro de los invitados.
—¿Quién es la mujer que vino hace un rato?
Nunca le había visto.
—Tsukasa, es de medicina familiar. —responde— no tiene mucho desde que fue transferida al hospital, le conozco desde que era practicante.
Vaya, así que Kaito tiene amigos.
Que bueno.
—Acaba de volver de Fukushima, parece que su familia finalmente logró convencerla.
—¿Eh?
—Haru, deberías saber cuándo dejar ir a los muertos —acaricia su cabeza— seguro que a Oz también le costó un montón.
Asiente.
Ahí va de nuevo, diciendo cosas que no entiende del todo, debería irse acostumbrado.
Sus sentimientos respecto a Rinne eran simples celos, no aflicción como la gente que sí la conoció en vida. Aunque deseaba que lo que sentía por su familia biológica fuera eso.
¿Pero cómo iba a sentir dolor por algo que nunca tuvo? El anciano que manipuló su memoria está muerto.
La chica con la que se obsesionó resultó ser completamente diferente a la que vio en sus sueños. Y aquella isla… por algún motivo injusto no se le permitía entrar.
Cuando era un niño deseaba felicidad, amor y estar rodeado de personas más amables.
Pero la única felicidad que podía sentir era temporal; aquella que sentía por haber comprado sus figuras favoritas, sus voicepacks favoritos, ganar un juego o que sus canciones superen las cien vistas.
Tenía cierto entendimiento sobre la amabilidad, pero cada vez que él mismo la mostraba sentía que estaba engañando a las personas.
Y «amor»… le aterrorizaba.
Recordando haber visto que el establecimiento tenía un estanque con peces en el patio, toma la oportunidad de escabullirse cuando nadie le tenía en la mira, sentándose cerca de la orilla, observa los peces en silencio.
Por alguna razón, mirar peces era una actividad relajante, si cerraba los ojos podía imaginar aquel cuerpo de agua con peces dentro flotando encima de su cabeza una y otra vez. Sin darse cuenta había empezado a tartamudear la balada de Mari en Awakening.
Samuel seguía insistiendo con que debería intentar jugar el remake del juego si nunca había probado el original, pero aún faltaba mucho para su lanzamiento. Sin embargo se había obsesionado con aquella melodía de igual manera, pues era nostálgica y le recordaba a alguien.
—«Hogar» Hogar está... está....
«Amor» está donde está tu hogar. Seguía sin conseguir continuar.
Tal vez era la misma persona que había hecho el truco de hacer a los peces flotar. Recuerda, el tiempo transcurrido en «Hogar» se le fueron enseñadas palabras muy importantes.
Entonces, encontró esta canción, la canción que siempre recuerda cuando piensa en «Hogar» y «Amor» así como la voz de Megurine Luka le recuerda a alguien, así como sonríe cada vez que alguien señala la coincidencia entre Megurine y Chiaki

Después del trasplante, tan solo tenía sus dolores de cabeza con los cuales lidiar— quizá era por eso que hoy se estaba sintiendo más vivo que nunca.
—¿Eres Haru?
El muchacho mira por encima de su hombro, era la colega de su «padre» asumió que se habían dado cuenta de su ausencia.
—Tu padre te busca. —le ofrece la mano, pero Haru se levanta por su cuenta y camina de regreso a donde estaban los demás.
Al llegar al sitio donde estaba su familia, una parte de él esperaba ser regañado.
—Han servido la comida, siéntate. —Kaito anuncia con calma, era una mesa para cuatro.
Haru mira en dirección a la mujer que había ido a buscarlo con curiosidad.
—Ahora me apetece comer contigo.
Haru se ruboriza con cierta pena. Aún extrañado de que nadie le regañara. Su padre responde con una suave sonrisa.
