Me might be nicknamed the Mighty Warrior, but for you, he’s weak in the knees

Kiri and Lo’ak always make fun of him for how he always becomes cuddly with you the instant he’s just a little bit tired

Just like his mama, whenever you two are alone, he’ll rub his face up against you, any place he can reach

Yes even if you’re not officially mated/too young to mate, he’ll do it

He gets compliments from other people in his clan a lot but they don’t do anything for him. But when YOU compliment him, he’s silently giggling and kicking his feet. You swear his head just got 2x bigger

His nicknames for you consist of “love” “my love” “sweetheart” and “beautiful one”

If you’re bigger than him he’ll also throw in some “my warrior” or even a “palm tree” (as if he isn’t 8’2 😭😭)

If you’re smaller than him (especially if you’re human) he’ll call you “my little one” or “my star”

He’ll always get you to pass something to him just so he can touch your hand while you pass it over

He literally acts as if you two aren’t in a relationship and have seen each other fully naked

He’s such a dork at heart

His favourite places to kiss you are your forehead and right next to your lips

Not that he doesn’t enjoy a kiss on the lips, but he knows it frustrates you so he’ll kiss you right next to your lips and then when you look at him like he just told you he was gonna break up with you, he chuckles and kisses you properly on the lips

I can guarantee that you will not be cold when sleeping with him

He’s like a radiator

But if it’s hotter outside, you’re trying to push him off as you have sweat dripping down your face as he has his head on your chest and his arms tightly, and I mean TIGHTLY around your waist

He likes to bathe with you

Not in a creepy or horny way

Then you catch him and he looks away, trying to act non-suspicious (he’s so suspicious)

Now Lo’ak doesn’t even care

He just checks you out

I mean he cares if he’s caught, acting all cool and calm

He acts as if he wasn’t just drooling from the sight of you

When he’s sleeping he’s either twitching likes he’s having a seizure or he’s dead asleep

And when he’s dead asleep it’s like he decides to just weigh 2 tons

And you can tell it’s a good sleep too

He’s drooling, face smooshed up against something (usually you) and he’s sweating

If you’re laying on top of him he’ll roll over just to crush you in his sleep

And if you’re human, say good bye to any form of blood flow because you’re not getting him off you

He will not wake up for anything, you could scream in his ear and he won’t even move

But if you manage to actually get out of his iron grasp, he immediately wakes up and drags you back. He acts as if you’re his life line and if you stop touching each other he’ll drop dead

His favourite past time with you is to chase you around the forest/beach

It seems weird to other people but for you two, it’s actually a lot of fun

He’ll go a little slower if you can’t run as fast

Once he finally decides it’s enough he’ll catch up to you and pick you up off the ground, spin you around and kiss all up and down the back of your neck

He likes to kiss you on the back of your neck and on the lips

He also likes to have you on his lap a lot, makes him feel closer to you

He’ll rub his face against your head and he can’t help but smell you

He likes to smell you

That sounds weird but your scent comforts him

His love language is biting

Just nipping at you

He’s seriously like a giant chihuahua

He calls you names like “beautiful” “my one and only” and “baby”

He could listen to you talk for hours

Not even about anything specific, you could just be yapping about anything that comes to mind and he’ll listen with hearts in his eyes and a goofy smile on his face

Sometimes he’ll intentionally bring up things you like/things you could talk about for a long time just so he can listen to you talk

He’s guilty of falling asleep on top of you while you rant about whatever

He just can’t help it, your voice is one of his favourite things about you

He gets jealous easily though

He trusts you, but he’s insecure within himself

So anytime he thinks someone’s getting a little too touchy or flirty with you, he steps in and makes it a point to hug and kiss you

And he will try to always have you either on his lap or at least next to him so he can hug you

He’s not obsessed with PDA and he doesn’t mind if you dislike it, but he also isn’t opposed to the idea of it

He actually finds it comforting to know that others know you two are together

If you have any work to do, wether it be chores for the clan or work in the lab (obvi depends if ur Na’vi, human or Avatar) he’ll follow you around and bother you

Kissing all up your neck and spine while you work, whinging about how your attention isn’t on him

He goes through phases. First it’s trying to distract you, then it’s feeling rejected and sulking, then pretending he actually doesn’t care abt what you’re doing, then it’s getting all way up in your face about what you’re doing, and then it’s just acceptance. But usually by acceptance you’re done with whatever you had to do (this part is all light hearted if someone acted like this genuinely it would be a little weird and concerning)

When you are finished though, he’s now lying on top of you, crushing you with his weight as he rubs his face all over you

He can’t help but always touch you in some capacity

Okay so first and foremost, he will try and act all tough and stronger than he to impress you

ESPECIALLY if you’re Na’vi

He once claimed he could pick you up so you sat yourself down and he got maybe your feet off the floor (you totally didn’t do it yourself to make him feel better) before he had to give up

“Look I totally could! Todays just not a good day”

If you’re human and shorter/around the same height than him, he definitely could, but he always does it wrong and hurts himself

It’s not that you’re too heavy for him, he’s just not cautious and picks you up wrong, hurting his back in the process

He likes to sleep on top of you, sprawled out like a starfish and on his stomach

He sleeps pretty long so if you’re Na’vi you can probably just easily pick him up and put him to the side

But if you’re human, then you probably can’t, so you’re just going to have to wait there until he wakes up

And trying to wake him up before he’s ready either just won’t work or will end in him becoming grumpy

Once’s he’s grumpy he demands you give him a kiss to make it up to him (he’s like a big ass baby)

Oh and his kisses (especially his morning kisses) are sloppy and have no thought behind them

He means them but he just goes for it, he doesn’t care where the kiss lands, just as long as it’s somewhere on your body

He’s so nervous like all the time

Just wants to impress you

Lo’ak once told him, in order to impress you, he should do a front flip off a low down enough tree when you were looking

He managed the flip, but when he landed, he accidentally twisted his ankle

You saw it happen and tried to get him to go to med bay but he swore he was fine

It was only until one of the scientists saw him limping into the lab later that day when he finally caved and went to med bay

Now back on the carrying thing

If he can carry you, he’ll insist on holding you bridal style while he trudges through a small stream over to the other side

Even if you’re perfectly capable, he still insists on it, makes him feel strong and protective

He likes to sit next to you, hold your face and bump noses with you, giggling and smiling as you whisper to each other and look in each others eyes

Not only does he enjoy doing it, but he also knows it makes Lo’ak gag every time he has to see it and he likes to tease his best friend

He’ll bring you things he found around the forest

You have an assortment of random rocks and now dried plants/flowers he found pretty

If you’re Na’vi, he’ll play with the tips of your fangs (yknow? Like feeling them) when you’re cuddling

He also will sometimes grab your tail and wrap it around him while you two are cuddling

If you try and scent him (bc I’m pretty sure the Na’vi scent their mates/partners) he’ll be so proud for the rest of the day

Walking around like he’s hot shit

“Yeah [name] scented me, they’re totally obsessed with me”

Like he’s not constantly talking and thinking about you

His nicknames for you are “sweetie” “mine” and “softie”

He likes to call you softie because it doesn’t matter your body type, to him, you’re just a big softie

If you’re Na’vi he’ll add in “blueberry” as a nickname because one of the scientists showed him what they where and he decided that was a great nickname for you

He likes to kiss you on the tip of your nose and your shoulder

He’s picked up the chasing habit from Lo’ak

He loves when he can chase you around the forest

Rotxo

He’ll often hold your face in his hands, squishing your face and pinching your cheeks like he’s some grandma

He’ll sleep curled up next to you, his head on your shoulder

His hair gets in your face but you don’t mind since it’s very soft and clean (he takes very good care of it)

Or he’ll spoon you. He would like to be the small spoon sometimes but his front gets cold so he prefers to be the big spoon so your back can warm him up

His nicknames for you are “my light” “my sunshine” and “love”

He puts a lot of emphasis on how you’re his guiding light almost, that you make his days better

His favourite places to kiss you are on the lips and on the stomach

He also likes to have you on his lap as much as he can

His head on your shoulder as he presses his cheek up against yours, his arms around your waist, pressing occasional kisses to your cheek

More on the kissing you on your stomach thing, when he hasn’t seen you for awhile or he’s had a long day, when he sees you again he’ll run up to you, pick you up so his face is pressed against your stomach as he kisses all over it

He can’t help but blow some raspberries on it too, it makes you laugh and your laugh is like a drug to him

He spends a lot of time weaving and making things for you

His tail can’t stop wagging when he sees you wearing whatever he made for you

Being a soft lover obviously has its perks, but he can also become insecure when you have any friends/anyone talks to you who is taller, stronger, and more confident

He’s the sad kind of jealous

When he gets jealous he becomes sad and avoids you

He automatically assumes the worst case scenario so be prepared to have to comfort him and reassure him that you love him and him only

He’s not really with it a lot of the time (day dreamer fr) so sometimes you have to hold his hand and guide him places

And it’s really awkward if you’re human, you’re so tiny compared to him yet you’re leading him around and he’s just stumbling over his own two feet

He likes to dance with you at celebrations and ceremonies

It doesn’t matter if you know the dances, he’ll teach you. Or you’ll both just do your own thing together, giggling and laughing

If you’re human and at a celebration, he’ll always try to guide you away from the crowd so you don’t get fucking stomped to death

I like to think that he secretly wants to be a healer/helper of the Tsahík, but his parents want him to become a strong warrior like all of his friends are doing

But he’s secretly picked up on tips and tricks (thanks to Ronal feeling bad for a 7yr old Rotxo bawling his eyes out because he wanted to help ppl but he couldn’t)

So if you ever get hurt, he’s rushing to your aid and helping you

Not only is he skilled in healing, but he’s also great at emotional comfort

He knows just what to say and when to say it

Not only that, but he’s just like a big old teddy bear

Cuddly and soft

He dotes over you a lot

His favourite activity with you is weaving and visiting the spirit tree

Even if you can’t connect to it because you’re human, he’s fine with just sitting on his Ilu with you or going to a nearby beach close enough to still watch the animals swim around the spirit tree

To him, it’s romantic. And if even you can connect to the spirit tree, you don’t always. Sometimes you two just go there to sit and talk, have some alone time from the clan

It’s actually where you two had your first kiss

Ao’nung

Ok so we all know it’d definitely be an enemies to lovers kinda thing

Or at least a redeemed bully who secretly likes you

I wanna go into some depth about Ao’nung with human reader so prepare for that

At first he’d HATE you

Not only out of, yknow, reasonable hate for humans, but also partly out of fear

But he’d rather die than admit that he was a little scared of you

It started off with avoiding you, always on guard around you, his hand automatically placed on his knife that was hanging off his hip, just in case

But then when he realised how… harmless, you really were, he calmed down

The fear and anxiety turned into bullying and teasing for your “weird appearance”

He secretly found you cute, but he wouldn’t even admit that to himself

So he started targeting you, purposefully sitting next to you at communal dinners just so he could make witty remarks about how slow you eat due to have to lift up your mask each time and having to breathe between each bite

Then it switched to the obvious “why do you have four fingers?”

Then to nicknaming you “little demon”

And it just kept going

It finally stopped when one day you smiled at him

That’s all it took

He found your smile so captivating and radiant that he finally had to admit he liked you and he could no longer find it in himself to be hostile or teasing anymore

So he actually tried to form a friendship

During the actual relationship, he will regularly pick you up and inspect you

Comment on how soft and squishy you are

And if you’re human, he never really let go of the “little demon” nick name, but he’s switched it now to “my little demon”

In public he’s not not affectionate, but he dials it down a bit, but as soon as you’re in private, he’s all over you

Face in your neck, arms squeezing you so tight you struggle to breathe, and probably lying on top of you

He’s insecure and wants to be just like his father, so any time you compliment his skill in something, he’s secretly blushing and giggling. But he puts on this “yeah, it’s whatever” persona to seem cool

One of his favourite activities with you is to go swimming with you

Especially if you aren’t from the reef, seeing your eyes light up at everything in the ocean makes his heart swell

Ao’nung was mean, you’ve seen how quick he is to bite back and claw at any opportunity that gives him a moment of glory against his rivals, plenty of times.

Ao’nung is mean to everyone, everyone but you, and his family, and maybe Roxto.

Excluding those people, ao’nung has never tried to purposefully hurt your feelings, maybe in a moment of childish banter, he has said mean things that are fleeting, they go away as quickly as they come because he sees the look on your face, and says sorry with a heavy heart.

Some days he is not as apologetic, and delays his apologies until a day or two, you walk away with hurt, anger, and hesitation but he always comes to u, can’t bare being away from you, his girl.

You are sitting on the sand, knees up to your chest as you gaze upon the sea, muscles sore from swimming all day. You almost fall asleep as the peaceful sound of the waves lulls you but alas, your one and only makes his presence known with his loud greeting.

“My tanhì, you look a little lonely!” ao’nung chuckles and sits down beside you, right beside you. No literally, he’s so close that your arm and leg are touching his. Why’s he so close? There’s literally so much space? You’ve stopped questioning it, he’s been touchy with you since forever.

He ruffles the top of your head affectionately, the little smile on his face tells you he’s in a good mood. “hi ao’nung” you say softly and give him a sweet smile, god he almost just melted at the spot, “you seem happy today”

“i am” he replies shortly and you lay your head on his shoulder, letting out a satisfied sigh at finally seeing your favorite person.

his hand finds it’s way to your leg and he gives you a prompt squeeze on your thigh, affection came as naturally as breathing to him when it was with you.

Your eyes roam around the sea as you look at the people smiling with their ilu’s and splashing around in the water, you catch a glimpse of a group of 4 girls as you shudder with the piercing look they give you. You recognize those girls as Tsireya’s friends, remembering her telling you about her dislike for a lot of their decisions. She told you to avoid them, they’re no good.

You furrow your eyebrows in confusion when you see the said girls make their way to you and ao’nung, probably only having matters that deal with ao’nung, you’re pretty sure they’ll ignore your whole existence if anything.

You being this close to The Olo’Eyktan’s only son ignites some sort of resentment in them, automatically making you their competition and viewing you as a threat.

“bruh not these chicks again” ao’nung mutters quietly in irritation and lets out a groan into your hair, hoping they’ll go away if he can’t see them. You giggle but your smile is gone as soon as the girls stop right in-front of your bestfriend. “Ao’nung!! We we’re gonna go take a swim with our ilu’s, I think you should join us! Im sure sitting here watching the ocean isn’t that interesting” the girl’s giggle thinking Ao’nung will get up and follow them without a word.

For a second you believed so too, what you were doing wasn’t that fun, but you didn’t want fun, you wanted calm.

“fuck no” you hear pure distaste in ao’nung’s voice, it makes you cringe, the second hand embarrassment of straight rejection in the face. You smile, he’s really showing no interest in these girls, you almost feel bad, but whats it to you?

“oh- well- you can- you can always come join us later or whatever, whenever y/n lets you go” you’re a bit offended, you aren’t holding ao’nung back from anything, especially these girls, any choice he makes is solely his decision.

“nah im good i prefer y/n anyways”

“whatever” the girls huff and puff and stomp off the space you guys we’re currently sitting at

“bit mean, don’t u think”

“i don’t care” you smile at his quick response

“i think a lot of people dislike our friendship ao’nung, you’re the next Olo’Eyktan and they think i’m competition. They can’t let me ruin their chances of becoming Tsahik.”

“tanhì, what are you even saying?”

“i just.. what i mean is.. you’re almost ready to find a mate, and you must choose wisely, as your choice will be the next Tsahik for our clan, she must work with you as one, and i feel like i’m holding you back from finding a good mate”

Ao’nung pays attention to you, listening to your worries with furrowed brows, he’s so good to you, always. It makes your heart squeeze when you think of him being this affectionate with any other girl, you’re selfish, you want him to yourself.

As much as this hurts, you will be open with him, but you will not open your heart to him as of now. You sigh, he grabs your hand and his thumb rubs soothing circles, telling you to continue.

“i think.. i think re’yal is a beautiful girl, her parents are talented and she takes after them-“ you are cut off.

“i couldn’t care less for re’yal” you tilt your head in confusion

“na’yi is a good healer”

Ah. It’s Na’yi that he’s chosen then. You look up at him, unable to stop your head from moving. He smiles. Ouch.

“i have the stupidest girl sitting in front of me right now” you hit him gently in the chest, he catches your hand and intertwines his fingers with yours.

Woah. You’ve held hands multiple times but not this way. It feels different. You’re almost about to throw up.

Your eyes quickly drop down to his lips, god, you pray to Ewya that he doesn’t notice.

He does notice, and he thinks you’re so cute he could make-out with you right now.

“she’s so stupid but she’s also the prettiest, she’s really cute too, i think she’d make a great tsahik” you’re embarrassed now, what does this mean? why’s he such a jerk?

“i don’t think Na’yi wo-“

“tanhì, i don’t care about Na’yi, i do not want her.”

“Ao’nung.. allow me to help you, you cannot delay this anymore”

Ao’nung groans frustrated, he looks around to see if anyone is watching, what he’s about to do right now might cause issues, he can’t find himself to care any longer though.

Ao’nung cranes his head enough so his lips are an inch away from yours, he looks at you with lidded eyes and you’re already looking at him

“let me kiss you” he asks and you don’t wait, you nod and he smashes his soft lips against yours, desperately. You’ve been wanting to do this, been wanting to kiss your bestfriend.

He grabs the back of your neck to deepen the kiss, damn, he’s a good kisser. Not that you’ve kissed anyone else before, but he’s making you feel really good.

It’s fast, and you both are desperate, impatient, and incredibly in love. He grabs your waist to pull you closer and you whine into the kiss. Sweet. He’s never loved a sound more. His confession comes between kisses.

“y/n, i want you,” kiss. “and only you.” kiss.

you pull away and you’re breathing heavily, you look at ao’nung, pretty sure your eyes have hearts in them. “i-“ you don’t know what to say.

“I see you” you whisper, only meant for him to hear, with sincere eyes.

Ao’nung looks at you and his lips twitch into a small smile.

He goes into kiss you again and your hands find their way behind his neck, he pulls back and trails a few kisses from your jaw to your neck, you gasp softly when he finds your sensitive spot and sucks on it, sinking his teeth into your soft skin, you’re so sure this is gonna leave a bruise.

He kisses you again but this time openmouthed, his tongue swiping against your bottom lip to ask for permission, you open your mouth more to let him in. “i love you so much” he whimpers into your mouth and you realize you wanna get out of here. Your feel yourself getting embarrassed as you realize the 4 girls probably saw your full on makeout session.

“what’s wrong baby?”

“lets get out of here ao’nung” you plead, doe eyes looking up at your lover. God, you make him crazy.

He takes your hand and leads you to his marui pod, you guys pass the 4 girls on your way there and by the look they’re giving you, you know they saw it, maybe even enjoyed it a bit. How They Act When Jealous

NETEYAM - He’s pretty secure in your relationship, so guys staring doesn’t bother him as much as it would the others. He knows you’re gorgeous, so how could he expect the other males not to notice your beauty as well? It honeslty makes him feel 10x luckier, knowing that he has you all to himself and no one else can touch you. However, when the glances get a little too explorative, Neteyam will bare his fangs at them only slightly to get them to look away from you. His tail will instinctively coil around your thigh to signify you are mates, and he’ll pull your body close to his with an arm around your waist. After eclipse when the two of you are alone in your hammock, he’ll show you some much appreciated, extra attention— so when the others see the plum colored markings on your neck the next day, they’ll know exactly who you belong to.

LO’AK - He’ll fight the person with no second thoughts. He doesn’t care if they were even planning on pursuing you or not, one look that lasts just a little too long on your body is enough for him to ball his fists up and try and stalk over there. “Is he making you uncomfortable? I can take care of him, just give me the word.” You’ll have to grab his arm and pull him in the other direction to redirect his focus to something else, promising him that it’s fine. We all know Lo’ak is a bit insecure, so seeing others pining after you burns a fire in him that he can’t put out. For the rest of the day, he’ll be attached to you at the hip and very touchy to reassure himself that you’re his. His hand a little lower than usual on your backside as you walk or an arm possessively slung around your shoulders; not-so-subtly toying with the beading of the stringy top that covers your chest.

AO’NUNG - the way he deals with his jealousy is unusual. Guys looking at you doesn’t upset him, he actually think it’s funny because he knows they have no chance. But when the glances push past innocent pining, he’s quiet about it. like, too quiet. He’s the type of guy where he never shuts up, so if he has nothing to say for once in his life it’s actually kind of scary. Ao’nung is someone who’s bad side you do not want to be on. You’ll look up to see a devious smirk on his face, your head tilted in confusion. All the while he’s concocting some type of plan to bring the guy out to an island, and leave him there to be eaten by sea vultures. You’ll snap your fingers in front of his face, giving him a pointing glance as a warning for him not to do anything stupid. He’ll sigh and agree only because you asked, instead settling on giving you a long, passionate kiss in front of them with a firm, two-handed grip on your bottom— one eye cracked open to make sure they’re watching. For their sake, hopefully that gets the point across.

Summary: your mother finally allowed you to go outside and explore your new home. Your excited to meet some new friends, but that excitement died quickly when you are treated horribly.

It’s been two day since your mother permitted you to go outside. You’ve been having fun seeing the world around you. Playing with kids (who eventually be pulled away when their parents saw you.), watching Lo’ak fail his lesson (your very own entertainment) and just admiring the ocean. You’re not bum out like your siblings when moving here, in fact you’re excited to know about a new type of landscape in Pandora.

You went outside this afternoon after lunch wanting to make those sand castles you’ve saw from your late mother’s pictures. You found a great spot where it’s close to the water yet won’t wash away your sculptures. You happily pat your sand bump trying to remember those sand castles and copying them.

While enjoying your activity, two metkayina boys known their presence by kicking your sculpture. Your eye’s furrowed and look up at them, cheeky smirk on their faces. You pouted your lips looking back at your destroyed sand castle. The joy you had minutes ago gone because of these assholes.

“Hey, demon! Why don’t you go back to your marui so we don’t have to see you!” They snickered saying those words. Your face seems hurt from what they’ve said. You’ve never felt any sadness from someone treating you like crap, but this one, no one ever called you a demon, well except when you first arrived here (by the Tsahik.)

You stood up and look up at them, “what’s your deal!?” pushing them lightly showing your anger. All they did was giggle, what would a small mere human would do anyways? You look to weak to even beat them and that is true, Neytiri always treat you like a fragile glass, she never let you go out unless someone is with you, not being Lo’ak.

“We don’t want you here, leave!” They yelled. Your face drop from hearing that, you’ve been ignored or glared before because of you being a human, but not saying something like that. It’s just horrible. Your eyes started to water, lips trembling, body stiffened. You feel like breaking down in front of them and that’s the reaction they wanted from you. To cry before them.

“Hey! Leave her alone!” All of you turned around where those words came from. It was Ao’nung, the boys then fled not wanting to deal with him. You knew Ao’nung by Lo’ak, Neteyam, Kiri’s story and all of those stories combine lead to a conclusion: he’s a mean one.

You look down refusing to make eye contact. Is he also gonna bully you too? Like the way he did to your siblings? Well that wouldn’t be a surprise.

“You alright?” Your head lifted facing at him. His face is blank, you couldn’t tell what emotion he has on his face. As if he’s dead, but it might just be the lighting. You nodded backing away a little from him. Feeling a bit queasy near him.

“Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you.” He said and turn around going back to his own business. He doesn’t seem so bad from what you’ve heard. You tiptoed following him, but Ao’nung knows, your little feet making sounds with the sands is enough to know you’re behind him. He turned around staring down at you. You look up at his ocean eyes still looking dead.

“You should go back to your marui, or else they’ll be back again.” You shook your head and walked close to him, “but if you’re near me, you’ll defend me, right?” His cheeks warmed quickly. Well you are right, he won’t allow those skxawng bully you again. It hurts to see you like that taking those words from them fro some reason. You are pure to his eyes and he won’t let anyone dirtied you.

You both have been walking in silence, no idea to break it. You were too distracted on seeing a lot of new trees, ilus, and others. Ao’nung on the other hand is a nervous wreck, tho he hide it very well. He doesn’t know how to talk to you, if he open his mouth he thinks that words would be fumbled when they come out.

“What is that?” You pointed at the creature that has a wings yet can still swim. He looks at it and smiles, “it’s a skimwing, only the elders can ride it.” You nodded. You continued to watch it fly, it reminded you an ikran, you love riding on an ikran with Neytiri, if she has a free time she usually takes you out with Tuk to fly at night.

“I wanna ride one!” Your excited tone made Ao’nung’s heart warm. He likes seeing so excited. Few days earlier you were finding some good shells to use for accessories and you find a big one with pretty colors shine when sun hits it. Unbeknownst to you, Ao’nung was watching you a few yards away, not wanting to be caught by you and definitely not wanting to be caught by his sister.

“If I’m old enough to get one, we could ride it… together.” His last word was a whisper, but you heard it and turned around showing him your smile. His heart beating so fast seeing your beautiful smile. He was in paused for a bit until waving your hands cut it off.

“You alright there?” You asked with concern. He just nodded. You both continued to walk, now talking to each other with no hesitation. While walking you heard your brother, Neteyam, calling your name. You turn around to greet him with a smile, he also gave you a smile then it turn into a blank face when he saw Ao’nung.

“(y/n), mother is worried, you should go home.” He said as his eyes glare at Ao’nung. You just nodded and walked passed him. Before Neteyam follows you he gave Ao’nung a word, “try hurt her, your gone.” Then he left. Ao’nung didn’t know Neteyam could be this threatening, but he doesn’t plan to do that to you anyways. He just clicked his tongue and walk to his marui.

You and Lo'ak have been friends for the longest time, after the death of your parents, you were invited to hang out with the sully's way more often, considering they were your parent's friends.

When you were there, Lo'ak was the only one your age, so you hung out with him more than everyone else. Sooner or later, you two became best friends and went everywhere together.

You'd go to the tree of souls and talk about your problems there, you'd ride on your ikrans and fly late at night, sure his parents didn't like it. But Lo'ak was a rebel and he didn't really care.

Later, the sky people came for war again, and the sully's needed to find shelter in a place they don't know about. So you obviously went with them.

You stood with the sully children as they were introduced to the metkayina clan. You learned their ways and helped them around the village.

But something felt off about Lo'ak now. Things were different.

You sat with Neytiri to help her make some food while the others were out for lessons.

"So, what do you think of Awa'atlu?" Neytiri smiled at you, she was always like a mother to you.

"It's nice, the people here are different than our people" You responded

"Yes, they are. But it feels like a refreshing new start, with new people and a new home. I hope the children are getting along well with the others"

You sighed, "Guess you're right Neytiri, your children seem to be getting along with them just fine." you mumbled and left the marui

When you wandered around the island, you found an area nobody went to, and it was the perfect place to relax and have some peace from everything.

You wanted to tell Lo’ak about it, but clearly he didn’t really care to know. So now it was just you, sitting near the waves, staring blankly at the ocean and fidgeting with the bracelet in your hand.

It was a bracelet you had made for Lo’ak, you wanted to give it to him. But he was too busy to even talk to you at this point.

You aren’t supposed to care this much about this. Lo’ak likes being around Tsireya and it wasn’t a problem. She was a beautiful and kind soul, he deserved her.

She was better anyway.

You felt a tear slide down your cheek and were quick to wipe it away, you shouldn’t be crying over something so stupid.

You got up and walked around the village, exploring and wandering on your own since nobody *ahem* was there to go with you.

You quietly hummed to yourself as you collected some seashells you found in the sand, when you suddenly flinched, feeling someone touch you

You turned around to see Ao’nung looking at you with a confused expression

“Uh-did i startle you?” He asked

“No I just twitch for no reason.” You rolled your eyes and kept looking for more seashells

“Well um, I couldn’t help but see you wandering around on your own, I collected some of these” He said as he showed you a collection of seashells

“Why…would you do that?” You furrowed your eyebrows

“I dunno, thought I could maybe help you look around. You can make really nice things with those shells” He shrugged

“Oh…” You muttered to yourself, “okay I guess” you said, and the two of you looked for more, and sparked up some conversation

You had to admit, it was a little weird how Ao’nung was acting. He was usually his smug cocky self, but for some apparent reason he was being nice, and you kind of enjoyed the company you’d been missing ever since you got here.

You two had the best time, you gathered them all up and decided to split them so you can both make some stuff with it. You sat by the ocean and talked about some stuff as well

When Lo’ak was done with his lessons he went to look for you, a little confused as to why you weren’t home. You weren’t exactly familiar with this island

When he found you, even more confusion set in his mind when he saw you talking and laughing with Ao’nung. It wasn’t even confusion, it was an odd feeling, like a mix of anger and sadness.

Something about the fact that you were hanging out with Ao’nung bothered him and he didn’t want it happening ever again.

“So you can make a necklace with them as well” Ao’nung said

“That group of shells would look so pretty on a necklace!” You said with a smile on your face

“What the hell are you two doing?” Lo’ak said with a stern tone

“Oh-hey Lo’ak, we were just talking about the she—“

“I wasn’t asking you.” He said, not even looking at you in the face, his eyes set on Ao’nung

“Uh, same as she said. Just talking about stuff” Ao’nung said

“We’re leaving” Lo’ak grabbed your arm and pulled you up from the ground

“Lo’ak—“

“Listen here, fish lips. Talk to her again, and you’ll get another black eye.” He said, walking away with his hand pulling you away as you mumbled apologies to Ao’nung who was silently nodding at you

Lo’ak finally let go after some time and you pushed him away

“What the hell was that.” You yelled

“What? I saw the way he was looking at you”

“He wasn’t doing anything wrong!”

“Yes he was, he was hanging out with you!” He yelled

“Oh so now I can’t hang out with anybody? What else am I supposed to do when all you do is avoid me and go hang out with your little Tsireya. Go to her, maybe she’ll fix your problem.” You said and began to walk away when he pulled you back

“I don’t want Tsireya.” He said with a serious tone, “Do you seriously not get it?”

“Why wouldn’t you want her? She’s pretty, she’s smart, she’s perfect—“

“I don’t want her because she’s not you, y/n!” He snapped

“What?” You said, taken aback

“You heard me. I don’t want her because she doesn’t make me laugh the way you do, I don’t want her because she doesn’t make me feel warm inside the way you do, I don’t want her because she doesn’t make me feel the way you do, I don’t want her because she’s not you.”

“But Lo’ak—“

“I don’t know what happened to me back there. But I do know that I never ever want to see you with someone that isn’t me. Because I see you, y/n”

It was quiet for a moment, and Lo’ak knew this entire relationship was over. Until a smile rose upon your face

“I see you too” You whispered as the two of you leaned in for a soft kiss

“You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting for you to say those words” He smiled, hugging you tight

“Wait!!” You suddenly said, pulling him with you as you ran somewhere, ignoring his questioning

You two kept running till you found it, the area you’ve been wanting to show him.

“I found this place a while ago, isn’t it nice? Near the ocean, peaceful, nice view”

“It’s perfect” He said, you dug up some sand and pulled something out of the hole

“I made you this” You said, giving him the bracelet, “do you like it?”

“I love it” He said, smiling as he wore the bracelet and kissed you again, and again, and again

“Lo’ak stop it” You giggled as you tried to get away, but he kept pulling you closer, kissing your neck and moving up to your cheeks and lips

“Okay okay, stop it” You chuckled as you lightly pushed him away, “one more thing! You need to go apologize to Ao’nung”

“We both know I’m not doing that” He said

“You have to, Lo’ak! He really didn’t mean any harm, he was just collecting seashells with me! He even showed me where the pretty ones are! Give him a chance, please?” You said, playing with his fingers

“Fine” he sighed and you smiled, “but only for you, ma y/n”

He had you now, and he’s not planning on ever letting you go.

When I read this I said: I NEED to do this request. So here I go.

Quick note: this is the longest headcanon post I have ever made, it took me three days to write it and the worst part is that I am not even exhausted, I am a fanfic-writer-monster that feeds off of y’all energy 🤠

Jake Sully

He had tried human food in his human form, but he never had tried it in his avatar. And obviously Norm hadn’t told him that human food doesn’t taste the same and it affects differently to Na’vi. Sometimes it doesn’t have an effect, other times they throw up or worse.

He tried a sandwich for the first time, a simple ham, mayonnaise and cheese sandwich. When he first tasted it, he didn’t think it was the same taste he remembers.

Luckily, this sandwich didn’t make him throw up or have diarrhea or anything. But the taste is something he won’t forget. It felt so different that he almost shed a tear thinking that he would never eat anything human with the same taste again.

He is obviously the one that introduces human foods, or ideas of cooking to the Omatikaya, not in a offensive or forceful way. He just shows them the things he did, some people find it funny, others interesting and also some want to try it.

Neytiri

At first, she doesn’t like the idea and eyes Jake carefully. She isn’t fond of humans and she doesn’t want to try their food. What if it’s poisonous?

After Jake insists, she tries a cheeseburger. She forces Jake to explain the whole process of how it is made, that way she will decide if she is going to bite into it.

After Jake has explained the bread with its sesame seeds, the burger and the cheese, Neytiri feels pleased enough to eat it. She doesn’t like where cheese comes from.

Anyways, she gives the smallest bite she can muster, even though it is halfway down the cheeseburger since it is to a human scale. She things the flavor is odd and may gag a little bit, but she doesn’t hate it so much.

Lo’ak

Lo’ak is quite eager to try human food. He wants to see the good part of sky people, just like his father was once. Maybe, subconsciously, he wants to be like him. Following his footsteps.

He would try some spaghetti, easy recipe that Jake could follow on a human-sized kitchen without making the biggest mess to ever exists. With the help of Norm and other scientists, the spaghetti bowl is ready to be eaten.

Lo’ak doesn’t wait for it to cook down, nor he is interested in what has been used to make it. He burns his mouth, cursing under his breath as he takes a sip of his drink. “Darn thing!” He says.

Once it has cool down a little bit, he will try to take the spaghetti with his hand and he begins eating. It might be one of the flavors that gets better and not worse. He continues eating, not seeing the huge mess he is making.

Tsireya

She finds human food quite funny and as Lo’ak asks her to try it, she is curious about how it will taste. She is never the one to pass on an opportunity to try new things.

They made her try something sweet, just like her. She tried pancakes. She though the idea of a dough so soft was cute. She toyed the pancakes with a fork, mixing up the chocolate syrup and the whipped cream.

Once it is time to eat it, she takes a spoonful in her mouth, eager to taste something that smelt so good. To her luck, the taste is almost she same. Not used to such a sugary treat, she is a little bit overwhelmed but so much sugar.

But after all, she finds it tasty, but she doesn’t like how sweet it is. She thinks it way to sweet. (Don’t throw the pancakes away, she will munch on them even after saying so).

Spider

He is human, so he has tried tons of human foods. So this time he will try something new, ramen. It took Norm ages to make it, but there it was. And it smelt perfectly.

Spider isn’t really up for the idea, he has grown used to Na’vi flavors more than human now. When he first tries it he doesn’t like it. He also doesn’t know how to eat ramen properly and his noodles splash all the time against the soup, making a huge mess around him.

He isn’t happy about it, he knows it tastes delicious but he isn’t happy with the way he is making a mess. He feels a little bit ashamed and pretends like he doesn’t like the food so he can get up, clean it and nobody can see it.

He has a secret stash of pre-cooked ramen just to try it again.

Kiri

Kiri is the one to try all kinds of new things and food is one of them. As she saw Spider eating ramen, she wanted to try it too.

The smell made her smile sweetly and she tasted it with a soft smile on her face. Sadly the mixture of textures and flavors wasn’t something that Na’vi took well. She threw up.

She knew it was delicious and she was willing to try more “simple” foods and not ones that mixed so many flavors at the same time.

She was sad that she could try complex foods, but she isn’t going to give up in her journey of trying.

Tonowari

He isn’t a big fan of sky people or their food, but he is a mighty warrior that doesn’t say no to a challenge, specially when the former Toruk Makto challenges him personally.

Deep down, Tonowari is excited to try fried chicken, whatever could that be. The smell doesn’t actually appeal to him, making him gag and furrow his brows.

The fried chicken piece looks like a toy on Tonowari’s hand, so small that he eats it all in one bite. At first he is overwhelmed with the taste and gets close to throwing up, the oily sensation on his tongue almost unbearable.

But then he started chewing, taking his time to taste it and when he shallows he is smiling. He likes it, it is a little bit to oily to be considered one of his favorites but he does like it.

Tuk

Tuk saw Kiri try sky people food and she is interested in trying some. Norm though of an age appropriate dish to make her and he made dinosaur nuggets for her. Or as he said “this nutritious dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets”.

She was happy, playing around with her food a little bit before taking the first bite. She liked it, biting off the stegosaurus head and then whaling about biting off his head. She was sad about the poor dinosaur she just ate.

Ketchup was a sauce she wanted to try dipping her nuggets in, she didn’t like the taste nor the way that her nuggets looked like they were injured.

She is willing to try new foods but she doesn’t want to torture more dino nuggies.

Ao’nung

He HATES human food from the start. Won’t eat it, won’t smell it and won’t look that way. But oh…. Lo’ak called him a coward. Nobody calls Ao’nung a coward.

With his pride hurt, he makes the attempt to eat some sky people’s food. He is trying some grilled pork with fries and he absolutely devours it. He loves it. But as soon as Lo’ak looks at him he pretends to be gaging.

He is going to try so many more flavors. Until he finds those foods that don’t sit right with Na’vi and he ends up throwing up. Then he’ll stop.

Never trying it again ig. Well, maybe, just maybe, he’ll sneak around with Tuk to get more food. Just maybe.

ao’nung

swimming and/or water polo

— he probably just naturally has a build built for water sports so he excels in it & is super cocky about it too (#blessedgenes)

— was defeated not given the choice on which sport he’d play when he was younger. both of his parents probably did either sport so they’d want him to also do it as well. or they at least wanted him to do one

— i don’t see him being the team captain but he’d def be co-captain or an alternate. he loves the sport don’t get him wrong but not to the extent where he’d be team captain. he already has enough pressure to perform well & doesn’t need that kind of title placed on him

— def see him being a butterflyer or a backstroker. like he much rather do those strokes in a swim meet than the other two

— is 100% the type of kid to have “eat my bubbles!” sharpied onto his arm or lower back during meets. probably begged his mom to write it on there too 😭

— also has to have the order of his races written on his arm so he doesn’t forget the order & where he’s supposed to go

— sees no point in wearing a swim cap

— always challenged himself by trying to score a point higher from his last game in water polo or get a better time in whatever stroke for swimming. he’d make sure to ask his parents to like reward him or something so he’d have the drive to do it. but even then, he’s still able to do it without the prize

— is 100% the team captain

— she is so supportive of her team & always makes sure that one of her teammates is not stuck in their head or blaming themselves for a bad play

— i can see her number either being 1 or some random ass number, like 49 or 27

— always has the best hair-dos on the court. she seriously goes all out

— def the designated braider of the team so she has to make sure her girls are looking fresh asf on the court too 🫶🏼

— very humble about her accomplishments & wins. she very much believes that an individual does not win a game, a team does so all of that congratulations should be projected to the team rather than on an individual level

“Look at them! Their tails are too thin and their arms have no strength. They cannot swim with us, they wouldn’t survive.” You hear Ao’nung shout to the new guys from far away as you are swimming towards the shore. Neteyam and Lo’ak, that’s what you heard their names were. You weren’t around when they arrived, but they’ve only been here for 3 days, so you have yet to learn anything about them.

“That is not true! Leave us alone!” You hear the girl shout and you must admit. They do look a bit different from what you are used to, they look… alien compared to the Metkayina people. “What is the problem?” You strut over to the crowd surrounding the three new people and stand next to Aounung. “Mother and father want us to train these freaks to learn our ways. That’s impossible, just look at them!” Ao’nung shouts while Koro backs him up. “Yeah, a bunch of freaks!” He repeats, making Ao’nung laugh.

“That is not very nice Ao’nung. They are not freaks, they’re just.. funny looking and different.” You earn a loud laugh from Ao’nung and his posse as he grabs you by your waist, you regretting the words that you just said as you see the girl look down while her ears retract. “That’s my girl. Come on, let us go somewhere else since the freaks have raided this area.” He pulls you towards him before he begins to walk off with you right by his side, you looking back glancing at the oldest one and to your surprise, he is looking back at you.

“How was your swim, my love?” Ao’nung places your face in his hands asking you once you arrive back in the hut that you guys share. “It was great until I arrived on shore to see you bullying the new clan.” You say as you snatch your face out of his grasp and walk away to sit on your cot. “Oh come on, Y/n.” He plops down next to you placing his hand on his knee as he faces you. “They’re just weird foreigners, they would never be able to be half as good as we would be. I wasn’t bullying them, I was stating the obvious.” He chuckles at his own statement while you roll your eyes and fold your arms over your chest. “It is still not ok Ao’nung. You don’t know what they are capable of doing, you should not doubt them.” You protest before he stands up to tower over you.

“I’m sorry, are you taking up for the strangers who just arrived rather than taking the side of your soon to be mate? I seen you look back at the oldest one. Are you trying to tell me something?” He mimics you, folding his arms over his chest as he flares down at you before you look down at the ground. “N-no, öeya yawne. I was not taking their side, I was simply saying that they can learn our ways as well. I apologize for the confusion.” You state before you look up to see him kneeling down in front of you with a smirk on his face.

“I don’t want to hear you taking up for them again, ok? I know that sometimes you don’t even understand what you’re trying to say, so I will let it go, but from now on just sit there and look beautiful just the way I like.” He brings his face to yours before kissing your lips softly then standing back up. “I have to help train the freaks before my father finds me. I will be back later, I love you.” He says as he walks towards the exit of your hut. “Love you.” You mumble as you watch him walk out, wishing your eyes were arrows that you could shoot out and hit him in his back.

Later that night, you trudge through the sand searching for your soon to be mate, wondering why he hasn’t returned to your hut yet. You don’t know why you even question it, he almost never comes back to your hut until the eclipse is almost over as he stays out late with his friends. You find him surrounded by his friends as usual and you walk over to ask him when he will be coming back.

“My love, when will you be returning back to our hut?” You ask as you approach the group, everyone clearing a path for you to step up to him. “Soon. You have been extra needy these past few days, go find something to do, beautiful.” He says as his friends laugh, your cheeks heating up from the embarrassment as you roll your eyes and walk away from the group, the gap closing back up around him as you make your exit.

You begin to make your way back to your hut as you walk back through the beach, but something catches your eye. You spot the oldest son sitting along the shore alone, his legs being washed over by the lit up ocean. Your mind tells you to keep going towards your hut, but your feet turn in his direction as you begin to walk towards him. As you approach him, he looks back to see you then he looks back at the ocean, not saying a word.

“How are you liking it here?” You ask him as you find your seat beside him. “It is beautiful and different from home, it would be better without you and your mate making fun of my family.” He says as he digs his fingers into the sand, not bothering to look at you. A tinge of sadness washing over you at his words as you think of what you said earlier, knowing that you didn’t mean it in a rude way at all. “I am sorry for what I said about you guys earlier. I didn’t mean it that way, I just meant that you guys are diff-" "It is alright, you don’t have to explain. I understand that we are different from what you guys are used to.” He stops you in the middle of your sentence and you look down into your lap.

“He is not my mate.” You interrupt the few seconds of silence to say and he finally looks over to you. His beautiful eyes looking from side to side as he looks into your eyes, making your heart flutter. “Not yet anyways.” You mumble lowly as you roll your eyes before looking into the water. “You don’t seem too happy about being with him.” He picks up on your tone of aggression and you look back at him. “I… I’m not the happiest with him. I'll say that.” You say before he chuckles a little bit. “I don’t understand. Then why be someone that you are not happy with?” You glance down at a rock sitting beside you, and you pick it up to fidget with it in order to calm your nerves.

“It was arranged. Trust me, I didn’t choose him on my own.” You feel a bit of comfort talking to him, it’s different from what you feel with Ao’nung. You’ve just met this stranger and you’re already telling him things that you wouldn’t even trust your own parents with. “I see. You seem different from him, not as arrogant and rude. I like you.” You blush at his words, you know that they are friendly words, but you wish they meant more. “I didn’t get any of your names.” You say to him and he smiles before speaking. “I am Neteyam, I’m the oldest of my three siblings. My little brothers’ name is Lo’ak, my sisters’ name is Kiri and then there’s Tuk, the youngest. My parents' names are Neytiri and Jake as you have probably heard. And you are?” He introduces himself and his family to you as you take note of every name.

“My name is Y/n. It is nice to meet you Neteyam and your family seems very amazing.” You extend your hand out to him before he takes it in his own, grasping it firmly but yet his hands are smooth and soft. Nothing like Ao’nung’s rough hands. You both stare into each other's eyes, a spark lighting in your stomach as his eyes drift to your lips then back up to your eyes. You finally let go of his hand before clearing your throat and speaking. “Well Neteyam. I must head back to my hut before it gets too late, but I want to properly welcome you to our home. Maybe I’ll see you guys tomorrow so that I can properly introduce myself to the rest of your family?” You ask him and he eagerly nods his head. “I will see you tomorrow Y/n. Sleep well.” He says as he watches you stand up and begin to head towards your hut, looking back at him one more time before he is out of your sight.

A month has gone by since the Sully family has arrived to the Metkiyena lands and you have found yourself closer to them than your own clan, spending every single day talking to them for hours and learning more about who they are, what they do. They have learned so quickly and adapted to the ways of your clan very quickly, that part you admire about them.

“Oh come on Kiri, teach me how you do that thing where the fish follow the direction of your hands! I know there’s a secret to it.” You walk beside her as you guys go to meet the rest of the group together. “I have no idea how I do that, Y/n. I guess maybe you just have to have magical powers like me.” She laughs as she waves her hands in the air, making you bump your shoulder with hers, making her stumble.

You both sit and join the group, Lo’ak and Tsireya sitting side by side as they’ve grown to like each other in the time that he’s been here, you and Kiri sitting together with Tuk in between you as you sit right across from Neteyam, leaving Roxto, Ao’nung and Koro standing.

“We go on our hunt in 4 days, we only need the toughest warriors hunting with us.” Ao’nung says as he side eyes Neteyam and Lo’ak with a smirk on his face. “Bro. Everybody knows that me and my brother are way better than you anyways. Did I not show you that when I beat you up?” Lo’ak snickers, making Neteyam roll his eyes as he tries to hold in his laughter and so do I. “I let you win that one, Sully. Don’t get cocky because we all know that I could beat you right here, right now.” Koro nods his head quickly, agreeing with his statement. Lo’ak’s chest quickly rises and falls as he frowns before beginning to step to Ao’nung, Neteyam stepping in between them and placing both of his hands on their chests. “Come on guys, there’s no need for this. We must focus on what is important and that is the hunt.” He looks from Lo’ak to Ao’nung as they eye each other intensely.

“I agree, this fighting is not necessary and it is absurd.” Your voice breaks the boys intense stares as they turn their heads towards you, who is smiling at Neteyam making his heart flutter. You seem to be in such a trance that you didn’t notice Ao’nung walking towards you until he firmly grasps your arm and pulls you away from the group to a private spot away from everyone for just the two of you.

“What the fuck is your problem, huh?” He spits at you, making you flinch at the aggression in his voice. “What are you talking about Ao’nung?” You ask as you roll your eyes. “You think I don’t see how you look at him? How you agree with everything that he says and how much time you’ve been spending with him and his family. Your eyes trail from his eyes to his lips before you lean in, closing the gap between the two of you. Neteyam gasps in your mouth, stuck in one spot for a few seconds before he kisses you back with passion. You swing yourself on top of him, wrapping your arms around his neck as you deepen the kiss, sliding your tongue in his mouth and grinding yourself against him. “Is… is this true Y/n? Did you lie to me?” Neteyam looks at you, his eyes filled with betrayal and pain as you don’t respond, but just stare at him with sorrow filling your face. You didn’t intend for it to happen this way, you had made up your mind that you were going to leave Ao’nung, but you just needed time. You were serious about the way that you felt towards Neteyam, you just didn’t know how to handle the situation appropriately.

Neteyam shakes his head before storming through the crowd and far away from everyone with Lo’ak following behind him, you wanted more than anything to follow him too but your feet just wouldn’t move from that very spot. “Wow. So you tried to play me and the Sully boy. Everyone thought you were so innocent, but I knew this entire time. And now…” Ao’nung says as he comes closer to your ear. “They know as well.” He points to the crowd whispering amongst themselves while giving you a judging look before he snickers and walks away with his group following him. Everyone glances at you one more time before the crowd slowly thins out, leaving you still stuck in that one spot, tears flowing even though your face wouldn’t even move. You didn’t know what to do, but all you knew was that you had to find a way to make things right with Neteyam, no matter what it took…
