Iblis' child and motherhood
So... With that new chapter, we learnt something I was honestly not expecting AT ALL. Iblis, King of Fire, a fierce opponent of humankind, who had also been expressing a strong dislike for Nephilim... had conceived a child herself ?!
That raise a lot of thoughts in my head, hence this tumblr post ^^. I was really not that expecting that "backstory" for this character for several reasons.
She hates humans.
I thought that before Satan, the Grigori were the only royal demons with hybrid descendants (meaning that Azazel was the only Ba'al who had fathered Nephilim).
Before this chapter, Iblis was little more than a powerful opponent but was hardly a real character.
... How did she have him ???
Not in the sense "How do you make a baby ?" ^^', rather in the sense : "How/why did a demon like herself go through all the trouble to conceive, carry, birth and raise him ?"
"For fun." This is the explaination we got from her, and it perplexes me a bit. I don't have the experience of pregnancy, but from what I got from others, even if can be a very happy moment in the best case, it is certainly not "fun". For demons like Satan and Azazel, who are possessing male bodies, I can imagine the conception can be qualified of just "fun". The difference is, Iblis is in a female body, she is the MOTHER, not the father : she had to do all the hard work. Nine months of pregnancy, hormonal imbalance, body alterations and most of all, a very painful CHILDBIRTH. And after, you have still years of child rearing ahead (unless you have someone else do it for you, but it looks like she did her part in raising him. And she must have done at least some things correctly because he looks pretty attached to her).
It seems a bit contradictory with the characterisation of the demons, and more particularly the Demon Kings. They are hedonists, careless, selfish and easily bored, who go after materialistic pleasure and whose number 1 priority is to avoid pain. All of them (as far as we know, given that we never met the original Grigori who side with humankind) see themselves as above humans. Iblis especially wants to remain beautiful, young and perfect. So, why did she accept all the troubles to get that kid ?
Did she even love him, in her own way ? She liked raising him, yet she killed him when he dared to grow old and weak like any human. She similarly hates all other Nephilim, yet I can't help but thinking the way she acts around Egyn has something to do with her lost motherhood and long-dead son. And Lucy herself shows sympathy for the loss of her child, as if she thought this was a source of pain for Iblis.
Are demons unable to love, as Mephisto suggested, or is there something more ? A psychological defense mechanism ?
Well she is "dead" now, so we might never know more, unfortunately.
PS: Do we have to expect more Nephilim reveal ???

Can you write demon Ryu getting in a territory fight with another demon over Rin? (Funny and scary at the same time, like a cat fight lol) Set durring cram school, and Ryu being a type of demon you haven't written about before <3
I got @marble-wolf to help me with this one <3
Here's a snippet of the fic, and there's a link to the full thing at the end. Thanks for the ask!!!
-- -- -- -- --
Ryuuji had kept it a secret since he was little. As much of a secret as he could keep it, which had not been much of one in recent months.
Konekomaru and Renzou knew, of course, because there was no hiding it from them. They'd grown up together as family, and he'd simply been too young to hide it for a while.
He was certain Lewin suspected as well, mainly because his master was eccentric enough to think it and observant enough to notice the hints Ryuuji wasn’t quick enough to hide.
He’d almost given it away to everyone in Kyoto the first time, and he knew he’d given it away with the reaper, but thankfully Rin’s flames had existed and kept Rin from realizing Ryuuji had frozen the reaper when it was trying to bite Rin, and Rin’s flames got the stupid demon to back up.
He often wondered if it was why Amaimon had gone for his throat that first time.
Izumo figured it out when they were in the lab being surrounded by zombies, which meant at this point, Rin and Shiemi were probably the only ones that didn’t know. No one knew what Takara knew, and Yukio had probably figured it out in that closet.
The rest of them finding out didn’t bother him, but Rin finding out worried him. For a lot of reasons. He didn’t want to be judged for what he was, and he didn’t want Rin getting weird around him. He wanted Rin to see him, and not that.
Despite trying to hide that secret and be normal around Rin, Ryuuji struggled hiding the most around Rin. He’d struggled since the beginning, and he had deluded himself for a while that it was because Rin was a nephilim too and drew that part out of Ryuuji, but…
Truthfully, it was because everything about Rin drew Ryuuji in, and the demon part of himself was not content with Ryuuji’s decision to not do anything about his massive and distracting crush on Rin.
He was blaming the demon entirely for why they were here. Kinzou’s concerts were fun enough with ear plugs, but any kind of concert was always a bit of a risk for him.
A siren couldn’t exactly sing without side-effects.
Rin had come up to him with that toothy (fangy) grin and those big blue puppy dog eyes, and Ryuuji had gotten lost in them and come back to himself to find he’d agreed to going to a concert with Rin and the others.
Now he was standing shoulder to shoulder with Rin and Konekomaru, and thanking the Myōō that Kinzou was loud and trying not to look at Rin in his punk outfit. The white fitted jacket and the hoodie were very Rin, but the leather gloves and the ripped slacks with chains were another touch, and the blue studs in Rin’s ears were devilish and Ryuuji was entirely convinced they were there solely to break him.
Rin was bouncing in place and singing happily (but not very well.) His hand caught Ryuuji's sleeve and shook his friend with an excited noise.
He tugged and called, “sing with me!”
He was high off the energy around them and Ryuuji seemed distracted. Rin would pull him out of it.
Ryuuji’s eyes went wide and a small noise that was not a squawk left him. Thankfully it was entirely swallowed by the volume of the crowd.
“Sing?” He mouthed at Rin. Ryuuji couldn’t sing. Singing was a problem for him.
Rin's eyes lit up at the surprise in Ryuuji's eyes. It was fun to draw out that expression.
“Sing! You don't need to sing good!” Rin comforted if that was the issue.
Ryuuji’s problem was the opposite. He sang a bit too well.
Konekomaru bumped him with his elbow as Kinzou went back to the chorus of BRS.
Ryuuji’s eye twitched as he tried to think what to do. He could fake it with most anyone else, but Rin with his stupid (attractive) demon hearing would know he wasn't singing because he could pick out voices despite the overwhelming volume of the music.
“Just like aria class,” Konekomaru whispered around a cough.
Ryuuji glanced at him and did not glance at Rin and his big eyes and locked his gaze back on Kinzou who was bouncing around the stage with more energy than anyone should have when they were growling out their lyrics like that.
Just like aria class. Ryuuji could keep the magic out.
The first few notes didn’t make the world end, so Ryuuji let himself sing a little louder. He did like this song.
Rin's next bounce was a little too high as he gave an excited fist bump and sang with Ryuuji. His tail was wagging wildly and he really might ignite. (But if he did that, Kinzou might haul him up on stage because his flames were cool to the Shima.)
A particularly high jump had Ryuuji stupidly looking over, and his useless heart gave a hard thump at the obvious excitement Rin had. He’d never met someone who just felt so strongly about every moment and let himself really feel his excitement without hesitating even though he had every reason to with the flames. Even his tail was out there for everyone to see.
He sang a bit louder and a bit more earnestly, hardly noticing himself starting to lose control of his voice.
He wanted to dance and sing like that with Rin. (And maybe a bit more.)
Rin liked Ryuuji's voice. It was better than Rin's. He could actually carry a note.
Rin sang louder with Ryuuji and he could hear other voices too!
Ryuuji let himself start to move a little with the music, feeling the pull of it and not watching his voice like he should.
The music swelled louder around them as Kinzou’s song reached its climax, and the audience was dancing and jumping and moving together, and Ryuuji was singing the lyrics at full volume as the song ended.
Rin gave the loudest sort of cheer and he beamed at Ryuuji. He didn't look worried or grumpy or distracted anymore and Rin called that a win!
Ryuuji's singing voice was great too!
“Your voice is beautiful!” A voice was drawing Ryuuji’s attention momentarily from Rin, and at some point when he hadn’t been looking, he’d gotten himself surrounded by people. Mostly girls, though there was a boy too.
His eyes shot to Konekomaru in alarm who gave a tired sort of nod.
“Please,” the second one asked, pushing in and reaching to grab his arm, stepping on Renzou’s foot to do it. “Please, can I have your number?”
“No! Give me your number!”
“Can I have a dance?”
“Can I record you singing?”
Rin's face changed from his elated excitement to pure annoyance as he grabbed onto Ryuuji's arms (gently!) and pulled him back.
“He's shy! Go away!” Rin hissed, obviously annoyed. “You can't just crowd people.”
Especially not Ryuuji!
Ryuuji’s eyes shot to Rin in brief confusion (and something excited about that defensive tone) and Konekomaru stepped between them with that distraction to quickly (and quietly) speaking a mantra to stop the bewitchment.
“We’re in a crowd,” the boy growled, “you can’t stop—”
The mantra took affect and the crowding teens backed up, looking confused as Rin pulled him further away. Izumo and Renzou had closed in on his other sides, keeping them back.
Next time Ryuuji got invited to a concert, he was going to say no, distracting blue eyes or not. He was a siren, and singing had consequences. A lot of them.

Hello again! I’m the anon who asked about writing for Lucifer. Could I request Ao No Exorcist Lucifer x female half human/half angel? Maybe a friends to lovers, please and thank you! I have a hard time putting my thoughts into writing, I apologize. - 🦆
Not enought for both worlds
Pairing: Lucifer x fem!nephilim!reader
Summary: growing up a Nethilim humans treated you like a monster, demons like a weak human not worth their attention. Lucifer on the other hand decided to be your friend.
A/N: thank you for the request 🦆, I hope you are like it and it was how you intended it.
More of blue exorcist ff here
More anime ff here
Growing up a Nephilim wasn't the easiest thing you had to do in life: humans looked at you scared and avoided you at all cost; demon thought of you as weak and useless.
Thinking that maybe back in Gehenna things would be different, you had decided that maybe you could find some piece of mind there: you were wrong, it was even worst. Making your life miserable because the only power that your demonic father passed you down was controlling bugs.
Pondering what to do was easy, Assiah was the less worst that could have happened to you, because you knew that if you stayed one day more in the land of demons they were going to kill you anytime now.
It was when Lucifer found you that things started to change for you, humans not being a problem anymore and so demons. They didn't dare to say anything when Lord Lucifer was around and it just happened that he was always with you.
One day you asked him the reason why he was with you that much but he didn't answer, just strugged his shoulders and went on with his day. You scoffed, was it because he had pity for you? That crossed your mind a couple of times a day, because for you it was either that or that. What else could have been?
Friendship. You found out it was because he thought of you as his friend, the more he spent time with you the more he liked your company and your stories about the people of Assiah.
"This is why Satan has to take over and unite the worlds in one." he said one night after one of your stories.
"Wait, I get it but not all of them are bad. I had a family for a while. and they were nice." you tried to defend the humans and let him understand that even if there were bad people didn't mean everyone else was.
"So why did you leave?" he knew, he knew everything you learned that with time. It was like he had eyes everywhere all the times. You were taken aback, the question wasn't knew to you a couple of people had asked you before why you had left if they were that nice to you, but that it was what you had told people.
"There were bad days when they would yell at me, the man sometimes was phisically violent." it wasn't always, just from time to times when the man had a coule of drinks. "but he was nice the day after."
After that day both you and Lucifer never talked about humans, he had his ideas and you yours and with time passing you realized that maybe he was right, and that Satan's plan to conquer Assiah wasn't a bad thing, but what was the King going to consider you? En enemy because of the human blood flooding in your vein or an ally for the demonic blood in you?
You didn't know what to think, maybe the fact you were helping him with the plan was good enough to let you live in the new world he was creating, maybe just staying alongside Lucifer would have granted you salvation and not distruction.
Lucifer had noticed how distand you were becoming, eating by yourself and excusing yourself everytime he wanted to talk to you and he had no idea what was happening. He hated it, he hated not knowing and not being able to talk to you was even worst for him.
He had tried to send some of his men to talk to you, but you refused to explain yourself, they wouldn't understand your feelings. Yet again you felt a stranger.
It had been a month and Lucifer was growing annoyed with you by the seconds, asking himself if he did or said anything to upset you. He had spent the previous three nights trying to find a reason why you weren't talking to him. Did you found out about his feeling for you? Were you not talking to him because you didn't reciprocate them? Did he offended you somehow? Did he ignored you? He had to do something, and quickly.
Waking up to yet another day of trying to avoid Lucifer drained you even before you could leave your bed. It was getting difficult because the only thing you wished to do was go to him and talk about everything and nothing, you simply missed his presence, and so you did.
Knocking on his room's door you waited, either he was going to ask who was it or somoene was coming to open the door, Homare Todo was in front of you almost immediately with her stoice expression. You bowed to her and asked if Lucifer was in the condition to get visitors. She looked back inside, rolling her eyes, you could see her doing so even if she was turned away from you.
"You can go inside." calling her men she left the room and now it was you and Lucifer, just the two of you after a long time. You smiled at him and got closer to his bed asking how he was doing.
"I guess better now. How are you." he took one of your hand in his, as if it was the most normal thing between you two. You didn't mind the action, growing fond of his physical displays of affection towards you. "How are you?"
"Better. Listen I guess I need to explain myself. I have been distancing myself and I stopped talking to you, which I really missed by the way, but..."
"Is okay." he tried to stop your rambling but you had to explain yourself. "Y/N I said is okay. You needed space, and that is fine, but next time tell me." he gave a look behind you and following his gaze you were confused to why he was staring at the door. “Can you tell Homare I want to stay in bed today and lock the door on your way back here? I don’t want them to interrupt us.”
You nodded and did as you were told, the woman on the other side of the door rolled her eyes and tried to reason with you that if Lord Lucifer wanted to stay in bed you weren’t allowed in.
“Homare, I know you are worried for him but he wants me there. I’ll take care of him for you.” She looked at you in silence for some seconds before giving up to her Lord’s wishes.
“If something happens to him, is your fault.” She simply said. Calling her men they left giving Lucifer, and apparently you too, the space you needed for whatever reason you needed to be left alone.
Locking the door you rushed back to his side when he patted the spot he left free for you on hid bed.
“Are you sure I can?” You didn’t want to cross any lines, but at the same time you were so happy he was comfortable enough to let you share his bed. Considering his status and condition it was a big deal.
“Never been more sure. Come on, I want you close to me.” And you didn’t have to be told twice.
Jumping next to him you spent the day talking and laughing. Your stupid problems waiting outside the room, they could be dealt another time, for now you just wanted to hear Lucifer talk and laugh.

Hey there! Chapter 4 is up!
Since last night, police and pro heros were alert around the dorms and around the school.
Villains wouldn't make a move (it was too risky with so many pro heros on the same place, and with the security systems at full alert and function), still, it wouldn't hurt to be cautious.
Thigs weren't looking good and there was tension in the air.
They had made the students stay in the dorms
This kid wasn't normal... he could be in danger... or he could be the danger... for precaution it was decided he was handcuffed to the bed, but no one expected him to wake up screaming and scratching himself to bleed, breaking the handcuffs in the process. Like, yeah, when people that don't have strength based quirks train and stuff they can be strong. But he actually broke the cuffs without problem. Those cuffs were designed to resist strength quirks.
At first Aizawa thought the hearing came with the kid's quirk somehow or maybe he just got overwhelmed, but the strength...
Could this kid be a new kind of Nomu?
Everyone got on the move when this possibility was put on the table. Some suggested handcuffing the boy once again, but Aizawa argued against it, even if he was indeed a nomu, the kid hadn't wanted to attack anyone, he had alredy enough stress with the nightmare he woke up from and if they handcuffed him, the kid would try to free himself and who knew how violently he could react.
What Aizawa felt when he saw the kid for the first time was... something.
The scars were also worrysome.
When Chiyo checked him, she found small scars here and there along his body, but the most notable were two scars, the first one was a stab wound, the second one was a scar of a big wound. It was the size of a fist if not a little bigger.
What happened to this kid?
Hisazhi had wanted to stay with him when the kid woke up, but he convinced him to stay with the kids.
They needed answers.
And soon.
_____________________
Rin was confused, red flags raised inside his head.
His first though was "why would anyone bring him here when he literally set himself on fire?”. Then he remembered that Aizawa could turn off his flames, and all the weird looking people he saw on the street (well not that strange, at least for him, demons looked funny most of the time). He wouldn't stand out so much (that was what he hoped, there was a guy with skin of what looked like wood on the street for fucks sakes!) but he had to get out of here to get his sword.
Shūzenji's "quirk", as she called it, (looked like that term was the way they meant their powers, why did they call it that? and how did all these people got powers?) consisted in healing, her lips grew and stretched giving him a kiss. After that, he felt a bit more tired but the scratches healed.
He let her use her quirk on him deciding to keep quiet about his fast healing, bursting in blue fire like a damn lighter was bad enough, he didn't want to get things worse. The less they knew the better, so, when Shūzenji and Aizawa asked him how was he and if this happened often he said he just had a bad day. The nephilim honestly didn't know what would have been the best answer but he hoped this was a good one. If he said yes then they would say "oh, so you are dangerous, we can't let you go" and who knows what they would do to him, and if he said no (like he did), he wasn't really sure what would come next.
The door was knocked twice before being opened by a man with black hair along with what looked like... a huge mouse??
Okeeey??
— Principal Nezu, detective Tsukauchi, I was about to call you — said Aizawa in a neutral tone.
— Hello Aizawa, I see our guest is awake — answered the huge talking rodent
The uneasiness twisted Rin's guts and crawled under his skin, but he managed to calm himself as he reminded himself that it was more likely that these people didn't even know what demons are (unless they were exorcists or something but he didn't think so, they didn't use True Cross symbol or anything, not to mention that they would have already attacked him, they were already taking too long for that), still, the fact that they saw his flames kept him nervous. It made him remember that nightmare and it sent shivers down his spine.
— Now, kid, could you please tell us your name, your age and explain us a little about what happened to you? — asked the detective.
— My name is Rin Okumura, I'm 15 years old and I was going to the train station when my flames got out of control, I didn't know what else to do that get away from people to not hurt anyone, Mr. Aizawa knows the rest — he gestured to him. — Thanks by the way — he quickly added.
It felt kinda weird to talk about his flames as if it was something normal.
Aizawa's response was just a nod. His expression was unreadable.
Rin really hoped they'd buy it cause there's no way he could play dumb like he would have wanted to. Aizawa and some officers saw his flames, and who knows how many people too on the streets.
He was lost, Kurikara was lost, strangers saw his flames, he was now being interrogated.
How was he going to fix all this mess?.
The detective wrote somethig on his notepad. It made Rin sweat a little.
— Can you tell us a bit more about your quirk?
Rin expected that. It wasn't so surprising.
— Like you saw, I can control blue flames... sir — he said glancing to Aizawa.
Tsukauchi took a moment, then wrote another note on the notepad.
— Is that all?
— Yes
New note.
《Should I tell them that I need to contact my family?...but what if the phone numbers don't work again? How will I explain that?》
Tsukauchi sighed putting down the notepad
— Rin, we really need you to clarify us some things, please don't lie
— I'm not lying! — His claim sounded lame even for him.
— My quirk lets me tell apart truth from lies, so, again, please don't lie.
《FUCK. IT.!》
Rin not knowing what else to do, bolted. The window seemed like the best route of escape. He knew they said something but he didn't hear it.
He had to go.
The window was close, but before he understood what was happening, he found himself on the floor restrained by Aizawa's scarf
— Kid, you're making this harder than it is
Aizawa's hair was floating and his eyes were red
— Trying to run will be also pointless, officers and proheros surrounding the school, you won't get far.— Added Nezu calmly and composed
Rin was thankful the scarf wasn't made of some holy shit thing that affected demons (what was it made of then?), and now he had it clear that those hair and eyes meant he couldn't use his flames.
The scarf restringing him felt more tight for a moment. But he could break the scarf, he could feel it.
Maybe Aizawa noticed this or something cause he said
— Listen, answer our questions honestly and everything will be ok.
That made Rin stop trashing and trying to get free. He was done.
— That's bullshit and we all know it!. Let me go! — He spat at no one in particular, he just wanted to leave.
Aizawa crouched down to be more at eye level with Rin, turning off his quirk.
— We really need some answers, please, just help us with that, nothing bad is going to happen to you
— What do you want to know from me that's so important? — asked the nephilim, his voice a mix of despair and annoyance, but he had stopped trashing so Aizawa let him take a sitting position
—We just need to know if you know some people — said Nezu (seriously what was he?). It was a bit unsettling that during this whole time he was calm and still.
— Like I said, my quirk lets me tell apart truth from lies so i know you lied, at least in some things, I got that you are being honest about your name, your age, and the fact that you did not want to hurt anyone when your quirk went out of control on your way to the train station explained Tsukauchi so, can Aizawa release you so we can clear all this?
Rin weightened his options.
He didn't understand much what did Nezu meant with "proheros" but if they were with the police, that meant bad news. They could be bluffing of course, but... it made sense now, they wouldn't have brought him here without being careful.
A part of him wanted to release himself and just look for his sword. But even if he didn't like it, he had everything to lose. If Aizawa could turn off his flames who knew how many others could too. He also didn't know what powers those officers and "proheros" had.
Plus, if they were after him it would be harder to find Kurikara.
He would have to take his chance when he found himself alone.
— Fine — he reluctantly said. With that he was free once again.
— Thank you— said the detective genuinely
They let him take a sit on the bed.
— Now, what other quirks do you have? — asked Tsukauchi
— Uh... — he felt a little awkward — I'm... strong, my senses are better than the average, too.
He also could hear demons telephatically (they didn't need to know that), but now that he thought about it, at first he just assumed all he had were the flames, his strength and the physical changes of his ears, fangs and tail. Hearing Kuro was a surprise. He couldn't prevent but wonder if there was anything else he could do.
— Are you a Nomu?
That was new?. He had been called all kind of names alluding to his demon heritage but he never heard that expression before. Was it a kind of demon? He wished he had paid attention to class. No matter how hard he tried to rack his brain, nothing, it didn't ring any bells.
— No
— Do you know what a Nomu is? Or have you heard of it before?
— No, what are they? — Hey, if they suspected him for being something at least he wanted to know what it was
— Let's summary it as they are people that were experimented on, that have more than one quirk.
— ...Oh — that was the only thing Rin could say. That... sounded messed up.
— Do you know the League of villains? any relationship with any of them?
They showed him sketches of what he assumed were members of this "League".
— No, never seen or heard of them before
— And All for One?
— No
《What kind of name is that?》
Rin took note how the air in the room relieved a little after his answer. There had been tension he didn't notice before.
— What gave you the idea that I had something to do with them?
— Your blue fire quirk — Tsukauchi elaborated, gesturing to a sketch of a young man that had spiky hair, heavily scarred over his jaw, down to his neck, and under his eyes, with what looked like staples along the scars and piercings on his ears — This guy, who calls himself Dabi, is dangerous, and also has a blue fire quirk like you.
— You can understand we needed to be careful — said Nezu — But now, I think we all are really curious about two things, the first one is how do you have more that one quirk and not be a Nomu, and the second is why aren't you in the system, we couldn't find anything about you, as if you don't exist, no missing report, no registration, nothing.
Rin looked at Tsukauchi straight in the eye.
— You said you knew when someone is lying right?
— Yes?
— Then you know I'm dead serious when I tell you than I'm not from here
— What do you mean? — Tsukauchi asked. Everyone was as confused as him
— I mean this isn't my home world or something. I don't know where the fuck I am, but where I come from there aren't things as proheros, this League of whatever or Nomus, I don't even know how the fuck I got here in the first place — Rin said extending his hands and then letting them fall in his lap in despair — all I know is I have to go back home, so just let me go and I'll be out of your hair.
Please. He begged silently.
Rin sweated cold, he fucked up, he fucked up, he fucked up BIG time. He felt everyone was looking at him as if he had gone nuts, then they looked at Tsukaiuchi.
— Ok... — guess the detective was processing all this — You are being honest...
After a few minutes where everyone let the information sink in Nezu broke the silence
— If you allow me, Rin, I have a better proposal for you... what do you think about becoming a hero?

I have other arguments to add to that great discussion ! And I totally support the theory of Lightning being a Nephilim of Azazel !
His abilities: remember when he forcefully removed his anti-magic menacles:
Menacles should be enough to imprison a human being and their anti-magic properties should have kept him from invoking any demon. Clearly, his own colleagues were not expecting Lightening to be able to free himself. They underestimated him gravely: Lightening was much more powerful than they thought.
Vayu and Indra are some of Azazel’s most powerful servants, so I don’t see them obey an ordinary human. They are the type of demons who would answer only their own king... or his descendants.
More significative, there is the moment when Lightning tries to kill Satan’s vessel. First, he tries to behead him using a sylphid, but the second tries almost succeeded, but this time I don’t have the impression he is using a demon:
Normal exorcist exorcist can’t use magic by themselves. The only other characters we saw doing that in the manga are Shiemi and Rin, respectively Nephilim of Shimihaza and of Satan. Plus, when the attack fails because of the Seraphim, Lightning coughs. Exactly like Lucifer when he overuses his body.
Finally, the most interesting point is Mephisto’s attitude toward Lightning:
He, the mighty king of Time, is acting as if he is weary of Lightning, letting him go away with almost-agressions that would be undoubtedly very humiliating for a demon king. The only other person we saw Mephisto treat with that weird respect is Shiemi’s (our Shiemi) grandmother, also a powerful Nephilim.
As a bonus, there are also all the crazy plots Lightning came with to track down and beat Illuminati, like purposedly putting Yukio under a contract of Morinah before sending him to them. Totally worthy of a demon, even thought he is only partly one.
Also, seeing how the crystalized bodies of the original Grigori are kept safe, he does not make sense that Lightning have so easily access to one of them if he was just a human. The old guardian let Lightning pass with almost no question or even surprise when Lightning came to visit his “grand-father” Azazel.
sorry if im coming off as forword or anything , but could you elaborate more on that head canon you gave about lewin? what makes you think he’s a nephilim of azazel, and maybe more details about it? im very curious !
Hell yeah! Absolutely! It's one of my favorite headcanons/theories and me and my good friend @revlischarm have talked about it a lot!
So there are quite a few reasons I have this headcanon, and some are a bit more of a reach than others, so I'll just stick with the main ones that have some explicit canon backing.
So like I said in the original post, if Lewin is indeed a nephilim, I think he's a third generation nephilim, so it would have been one of his grandparents that actually had Azazel for a parent. This matches up with what we know of his parents and siblings having a "normal life."
(Also can I get a yeehaw for Texan Lewin, I wonder if we were from the same area lmao). But anyways, by that point, the demonic blood could have become diluted enough that it was easy to ignore and allowed his family to live normally, even if Lewin decided on a different path. But there are subtle ways that the demonic heritage is evident.
He’s also expressed that during his childhood he was comparable to a “demon” himself (very similar to how Rin was treated as a child).
There’s also the fact that he’s so friendly with demons, and doesn’t explicitly view them as something that needs to be eradicated, which is unusual for an exorcist. Especially a high ranking one like himself. And speaking of how high ranking he is, there’s the fact that he can summon multiple extremely powerful familiars, without even using full incantations. And we know that nephilim can have strong and unusual abilities due to their demonic blood and Lewin’s skill with familiars is... odd, especially in comparison to other tamers we’ve seen.
There aren’t really many physical tells regarding if he would be a nephilim. Except his eyes. Obviously his eyes are hidden by his hair more often than not, but when we see them, they’re always drawn... differently than all the other characters. Like Kazue puts more effort into making them unnerving, including an oddly shaped pupil
If he’s a third generation nephilim (or even a second), it makes sense that most of the physical traits would have vanished by that point, and that it would only be one or two small things to set him apart, such as his eyes. It could also be a reason that he tends to go out of his way to cover them.
Another odd thing is that during the flashbacks when we learn about Rin and Yukio’s birth, we see a very young Lewin with Azazel. It seems strange that someone as young and inexperienced as him would be with such high ranking exorcists for no reason, (especially considering everything going on at that point in time) regardless of the fact that he was likely already considered some kind of prodigy due to his tamer abilities.
It just seems strange that he would be with Azazel for no reason, there has to be some kind of connection.
And then finally, this translation of Lewin calling Azazel “Gramps”
It’s all just a theory, but I think it’s a pretty fun one, and it would explain/fill in some gaps about Lewin for sure

Hey I wonder about if Yuri will ever search/find out about why Oku and Obaba used to be exorcists but quit at some point? Which led them to become homeless, I suppose?
With everything about Section 13 and Asylum, it would be interesting if Sensei were to show that a few exorcists couldn’t maybe handle a few secrets they found out about and chose to leave the Organization instead of being associated with it?
Especially since one could argue that the way they died was a little suspicious. I mean, there is no real argument or proof, because Yuri was 6, the scene was quick and they said it was a fire but was it really accidental? Who knows.
... Now that I think about it though, It’s kinda the same about Yuri’s biological family’s situation because...
what about this super shady family business that’s quickly mentioned?
I’d consider it random, just giving a reason to why she had no family in the first place, but her family name is also the name of the demon king of water at least in English. Maybe there is a difference in Japanese when it comes to how it’s written, I have no idea, but it would be interesting if it wasn’t a coincidence, leading to Yuri reasearching about her past and the people she used to live with.
I’m wondering also because, while the twins’ first name are related to "Rinka” and “Yukiotoko” (Yuri’s nickname for the two men she probably loved??), their family name seems to be related to Oku himself.
So was Oku’s name really “Oku” and Yuri decided her sons would have a (made-up) related family name because he was like her surrogate father? Or maybe it was actually “Okumura” and it’s because she’ll research about him, find out about this and why he left the Organization, that she’ll give his name to her sons?
I don’t know but I feel ch100 and ch101 still have bits that are shady despite this trip in the past being supposed to be about giving Rin answers...
#ao no exorcist#yuri egin#okumura rin#okumura yukio#ane theory#when ch101 first came out i considered that she was a nephilim of the king of water hence her last name but idk#but i wouldn't be surprised if there were more to these two points

A wonderful fic and, almost character study on the mysterious family of our Shiemi, the Nephilim of Shiemihaza, especially her grandmother. So happy I have found it !!
I can't recommand it enough. It perfectly fits the canon, and is so well written.
NB : I can't wait for the gang to learn the truth so we get even more material on that. Well, technically speaking, Rin should have already understood. If he is not so slow... And Izumo and Ryugi have suspicions.
A garden of dreams
It seems the garden has a long-awaited visitor today.
She can hear Shiemi’s pattering footsteps even from inside the shop as they race down the small path of stones. Soon enough, the door to the shop opens, followed by the crisp ring of the bell.
She fills the teapot without haste, sitting down at the farther side of the table to keep the garden in her view.
“Are you here for supplies?” she prompts.
The floor creaks. “Nope. I just thought I’d visit.”
“You keep bringing him here,” she says without looking up. “Don’t think I haven’t noticed.”
Shiro smiles with a sort of weary fondness, sighing as he braces a hand on the table to sit down. “They’re a good influence on each other.”
He’s been getting older these years, becoming exhausted of vitality, in a way. She can hear the strain of his bones even under the slight thump of the cushion. None of the other experimental subjects lived as long as he has.
“I haven’t spoken to him,” she tells Shiro, even as she watches the boy smile when he picks a speck of grass out of Shiemi’s hair, “but Shiemi does like when he visits.”
He is a boy soft like cotton, with gentle hands trained to hold steel, but here in her garden, he is clumsy in spite of good intentions. The ferns hold a grudge, and so does the bugleweed that was stepped on last week. They are petty creatures though.
Shiemi has not had a friend her age before. It’s only natural she’s delighted.
“How old is he now?”
It’s an idle question. She was present the day he was born, after all.
“Thirteen,” Shiro replies. “He’ll be taller than me soon, I bet.”
“Thirteen,” she murmurs, “and he’s an exorcist.” She pours two cups of jasmine tea, watching the steam curl its mellow fragrance into the air. “He has his mother’s good looks.”
“Yeah.” Shiro pauses for a moment before he smiles. “He does.”
“Where is the other one?”
Shiro takes a sip of tea, but their eyes don’t meet. “Oh, he’s probably lazing around at home.”
She traces her fingers along the smooth rim of her cup. “Good. You were wise not to bring him here.”
Shiro breathes a laugh out through his nose. “Of course,” he agrees, and that is all they will say.
To keep reading! :)

THE PAST WILL HUNT US TILL END
Hope this won’t happen to my poor boy. He was trying so hard to get strong and look at him now, he went completely out of his mind. He pointed his gun on absolutely everyone and hurted so many innocent people in order to reach his selfish goals. He became alone. And no matter what his loved ones struggled to keep him on the right side, he refused to listen.I really wish Yukio won’t die at the end of the series. I want him to get redemption, but this won’t be easy and the Order won’t show any mercy to betrayers. I’m still angry at Mephisto for not revealing the past and other things. The poor guy was desperate and he needed to do something. I’m looking forward to future chapters, this’ll be interesting.

Look how short she is (smiling crew aside which is almost ironclad proof of Shemihaza’s relationship to Shiemi, and is pretty “duh” at this point). Totally Shiemi’s grandmother. Yes, height is hardly hardcore evidence: it just made me laugh at the size. Her and Homare. XD

Rebellion of the Grigori: Myth vs Manga 1. The Grigori’s identities
In the Book of Enoch, 200 angels known as the Grigori, led before by several Leaders, the most well-known being Shemihaza, the main leader, and Azazel, rebelled against God and the rules of their fellow angels. They descended on Earth to have sexual relationships with human women, creating in the process giant and blood-thirsty half-angel beings, called the Nephilim. They also provided the human population with precious, but apparently forbidden, knowledge: war weapon, vagetal spells, course of the moon, reading of the stars, make up...
In the manga, three of the Demon Lords, the two Sol Shemihaza, emperor of Creation, Armumahel, emperor of Nothingness, and the Ba’al Azazel, king of Air, oppose the war against humankind that was driven by their own kind, and especially Lucifer, who was at that time was the most powerful ruler of Gehenna. They conceived with humans half-demon beings known as the Nephilim and provided knowledge, along with Samael, king of Time, on how to fight demons.
Kato has done a great in reappropriating that myth, and I would like to go a bit further in the comparison of the two.
Who are the Grigori ?
In the myth, there are several hundreds of them, and in the manga only three.
- Shemihaza: the main leader of the Grigori. In the manga, the three are supposed to be equals, but Shemihaza looks indeed more active than the other two - but mostly because the Nephilim of this bloodline still have powers, unlike the other two. In the myth, Shemihaza taught the enchantments and vegetal spells, which match pretty well the kind of powers we have seen being displayed, limked to plants. Kato go even even further, giving Shemihaza and their Nephilim the ability to nuture and influence life itself.
- Armumahel: this one is not usually named among the Grigori’s leaders, though I have seen the name being mentionned, without any precision. One other that could correspond to our Armumahel is Armaros, one the leaders, who taught how to cancel enchantments. In the manga, enchantments and magic comes from the demons and Armumahel and his Nephilim can nullify all of that. Here again, Kato develop even more that aspect, and the power of Armumahel is to destroy everything that is linked to the spiritual world, let it be demons or human souls. She even created the concept of the Black Flames of Gehenna, the spiritual world, as opposed to the red fire of Assiah, the physical world.
- Azazel: though not as powerful as Shemihaza, he is even more well-known as a fallen angel, for teaching mankind how the create weapon and fight, the most forbidden knowledge of all. There is no particular relationship between Azazel and the air element in the myth, except, for the angel/wing part I guess. But we can link his teaching to the idea of Azazel teaching humans how to defend themselves against demons, something that probably outraged his siblings.
In the myth, there were also lots of other Grigori angels who created Nephilim. Maybe we can assimilate them in the manga to the other demons who mated with humans and conceived Nephilim children, such as Izumo’s demon ancestors. Their descendants have also special power and knowledge that are pretty useful for the Exorcists today.
Next time : the causes of the Rebellion

Inspired by your ice nephilim!bon
Bonrin au but Bon accidentally gives Rin frostbite through kissing.
This is sort of what I was originally imagining their first kiss like in the frost au, but I ended up going a different direction with that story. So I've spruced up this cut scene and expanded it a bit. I hope you enjoy! <3
— — — — — — —
“You’re not gonna hurt me,” Rin laughed, brushing his thumb against Bon’s knuckles. “I mean, look at me. I got this!” Rin flared with fire as he spoke. Playful little sparks that danced through his hair before igniting over his entire body in a warm glow.
Bon wanted to believe, and man, he wanted this. He cared for this boy —much too much — and he wanted nothing more than to dart across the space between them and press a long kiss to Rin’s lips. To see how the boy’s lips would feel against his own. Would they be soft? Warm? Rough? He’d read about kisses and knew the words people used to describe them, but he didn’t have any real idea of what that would feel like. Passionate, hungry, soothing, gentle, tender, affectionate, hot, devouring…
What would Rin kiss like?
“You can’t know that.”
Rin wrinkled his nose and shook his head. “God, you never stop thinkin’, do ya?”
“One of us has to.”
Rin stuck his tongue out playfully before shuffling closer. “Come on, big guy. I know you want to. It’s not like I’m asking for you to make out yet. We’ll keep our mouths closed. Just a peck. Please?”
Bon could feel himself blushing, and somehow that was almost as irritating as the chill in his chest and the nettle of Rin’s words.
“A peck is all it would take.”
“Then I’d already be kinda screwed by this.” Rin raised their joined hands and wiggled his eyebrows. “But lookie! No ice.”
Bon blew out a frustrated breath and Rin’s expression crumpled.
“You know, if it’s the me of the thing, I—”
“You know it’s not that.” Bon dropped his gaze to their joined hands. “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“It’s fine if you do.” Rin’s hand came up to cup the curve of his jaw. “I’ll heal and we’ll figure it out. Just like we figured it out when I kept stabbing you with my nails.”
The tight, worried thing in Bon’s chest eased slightly. “Those things are claws, not nails,” he teased, tilting his head into Rin’s hand as he did. A sharp nail brushed over his cheek, teasing at his facial hair before coaxing him a little closer.
“Nails, claws, talons, whatever. Can I kiss ya now?”
Bon stared into his blue eyes, eyes he loved in a boy he trusted. A boy he often trusted more than himself. Closing his own eyes, he nodded and squeezed Rin’s hand.
“Yeah, you can kiss me now.”
The thump-thump-thump of Rin’s tail was the only real sound in the room. That and Rin’s sharp inhale. Neither was loud enough to drown out the thundering of Bon’s heart.
His racing, excited, terrified heart. He kept his eyes closed, focusing only on keeping control of the strange power within himself. He would hold onto the ice and he would not harm the boy he loved. Rin would give him his first kiss, and it would be okay.
Rin’s hand shifted on his cheek, Bon tensed every muscle in his body, he felt the bed shift, a brush of breath against his lip, and then…
Then the gentlest of pressures. A warm touch, hardly more than a tickle, and then a slight shift and Rin’s lips were fitted against his. The pressure increased, just enough to feel it, not enough to overwhelm or push him back, and there was another puff of air against his cheek. A warm little burst that had his heart fluttering in its thunder.
It was over almost as quickly as it started, and Bon had a few answers for how Rin kissed. He spent a moment longer like that, with his eyes shut and his heart feeling a bit too full, before he opened his eyes and found his boyfriend smirking a few inches away. He’d be annoyed by that self-satisfaction if it wasn’t for how pink Rin’s cheeks were and how the flames in his eyes were flaring with their own emotion.
“See?” Rin asked, eyes burning all the brighter. “We’re all cool.”
“Ha-ha.”
Rin’s tail thumped against the bed and he shuffled a little closer. “Wanna try it again?”
Bon did, more than he’d like to admit, so he nodded.
Rin, with a toothy grin, surged forward. Their lips pressed together, harder than they had last time, and Rin’s hand shifted up to fist his hair, holding him close as the kiss got messier. Ryuuji tried moving this time, and Rin was already moving, and it was entirely different and endlessly fantastic.
Rin shifted up, moving in closer and capturing Bon’s bottom lip between his. He sucked on it a little, making Bon’s breath freeze in his lungs and his hands move to hold Rin’s elbow and hip, urging him closer as he tried to mimic the movements.
Rin pressed closer, holding him, cupping his cheeks, kissing and kissing and kissing him until Bon was entirely breathless and wasn’t thinking about anything but getting more of it all.
Not thinking about controlling himself, or about the ice rising in his chest and limbs. Just how it felt to be kissing Rin and the surge of emotions rising within Bon.
Rin was holding his face with both hands, and that was what did it. Feeling entirely held and wanted, Bon lost control for a moment, and a moment was all it took.
Rin gasped, couldn’t pull away because ice froze, and then, with a blur of blue, he was sitting back and covering his mouth.
“Rin?!” The word fell from his lips in a frosty cloud, and that was all the proof he needed. He’d hurt him. He’d hurt Rin.
Bon scrambled backwards and off the bed as Rin prodded gently at his own lip and blinked in a stunned sort of way.
“Hey—” Rin shot after him. “Where do ya think you’re going?! Get back here!”
Bon froze a few feet away. He hadn’t intended to run — he didn’t run as a rule, even when it was all he wanted to do—but he had fully intended on getting back and giving Rin space. Rin who had every right to be furious.
“Don’t heat it too quick.” His voice was tight in worry. “You’ll hurt yourself worse. Just—fuck, I’m so sorry.”
Rin’s swollen lip was already shrinking back to normal. The blackened and frozen skin was turning pink and healthy. Healing before Bon’s eyes.
“I’m fine, babe. Promise.” Rin took a step towards Bon with his hands raised. Moving like he was trying to calm a spooked animal instead of someone who was deadly and cold.
“I’m sorry,” he said again, and then again. “I’m so sorry.”
“Shh,”
“I’m so sorry.”
Rin got closer, Bon had backed into a wall, and caught his arms. “Hey, shh. I’m serious. You’re fine, Ryuuji. I’m fine. Promise.”
His lip looked okay, but Bon couldn’t believe it was that easy. He knew how much that hurt when it happened to him.
“I told you I’d heal if anything happened. That was my fault. I shoulda kept it easy like you said.” He reached forward and carefully took Bon’s hand, His sharp nails scratched against Bon’s hand, no longer hurting like they once had.
Rin smiled as Bon sucked in a breath.
“Guess I underestimated how good you’d be at that.” He swayed closer, not touching, not yet, and leaving Bon’s right side open if he wanted to escape. “Got kinda carried away.”
“You’re okay?” Bon asked, dropping his gaze to the floor and squeezing Rin’s hand tight. There was cold dread in his chest, but he had the ice on complete lock down. He was barely breathing, but the ice wasn’t getting out.
“I’m good. Gonna wanna do a lot more of that though. Not the ice part, but I’m not opposed to things getting a little frosty.”
“Rin, I hurt you.”
Rin blew out a breath. “Man, I get it now. It’s annoying on this side.”
Bon risked a glance up. Rin was staring up at him with an amused smile and gave his head a little shake. “Huh?”
“Trying to convince someone they’re not scary. I get why you’re always so annoyed about it now.” Rin brought their joined hands up to his lips and pressed a kiss to Bon’s knuckles.
“You never hurt me.”
“Sure I have. I already talked about the claws. I’ve gone too hard in training too. I’ve bruised and scratched you.”
“I gave you frostbite.”
Rin shrugged. “Tomato potato.”
“Tomato tomato, or potato potato.”
“No subject changing.”
He could feel the tension in his chest easing even though he didn’t want it to. Rin just did that to him. Rin pulled the panic away and made it hard not to trust.
“Then get it right, dork.”
Rin grinned. “What was it you said to me? Practice makes perfect?”
“Rin, no, this is—”
“Don’t tell me no because you’re scared of hurting me. If you don’t want to ‘cause you don’t want to, that’s okay. But not because of that.”
Bon dropped his gaze again and swallowed. He hated Rin throwing his own words back at him. Rin didn’t typically make good arguments. Bon did.
But also…
Bon wanted this with Rin. He didn’t run away, even when he was scared, and that really only left him one option.
“I want to. I just… I don’t know if I’ll be able to without hurting you.”
Rin made a thoughtful noise. “Then let’s try it a different way.” He stepped back and pulled Bon with him. Rin didn’t stop until they were back at the bed. He pushed Bon down and sat next to him, still holding his hand, and not going in for a kiss just yet.
“Try it a different way?”
Rin’s smile was enormous as his entire body once again lit with a layer of fire. They brushed over Bon’s hand without burning, a pleasant kind of warmth. A layer of heat that covered everything, even Rin’s lips.
“That might actually work.”
“I’m just super smart like that.” Rin laughed, tugging on Bon’s head until they were a breath away.
“Just make—”
“Yeah, I’ll stop ya. Now please kiss me, big guy.”
Holding his breath and saying a quick prayer, Bon did. This time, if there was any ice, the flames melted them.

Nooooo !!!! I want to know !
My personal theory, is that he is like Shiemi ! A descendant of the Grigori, except he is a descendant of the Armumahel's bloodline, a Nephilim with actual power.
That would explain why he said to Rin and the others he was much more powerful than them without having ever received any exorcist training. And like Shiemi, the only way to access his mansion is Mephisto's keys like the one he gave to Izumo. Pretty sure it will be used later, if Izumo in a dreadful situation needs to run to safety.
I bet he was put in the same class as Rin (and Shiemi !) in order to keep an eye on him and be able stop him if he became a danger for the other students, as we know Armumahel's power is effective against Rin. He was an insurance.
And it explains why the black flames of Yamantaka did not hurt him at all during the fight with Renzo. As Todo explained to Yukio, when two forces of the same nature fight, the stronger one absorbs the other. I guess a Nephilim of Armumahel is much more powerful than a demon servant.
PS : "Nemu" means sleep, and we suspect sleep might be associated to Armumahel.
PSS : a useless detail : his hair is red... Like the Armumahel's gun !!!!!
Listen as much as I wanna know what his deal is, Katou just introducing this weird as all fuck character with obvious deep lore and then just never explaining what his deal is would be funny as hell

Translation: “Ao no Exorcist” Chapter 88 Translation Summary (SPOILERS!)
So, I do this with Noragami every month, but this may or may not become a monthly thing depending on my schedule. Anyway, I did it this month, so I figured I’d throw it up here. If there are mistakes or typos, my bad, I type this up as I read it. Spoilers, obviously:
The title is “Happy (Merry Christmas) Birthday! Eve”
Rin is upset about Shiemi’s decision to quit being an exorcist. There’s a flashback to her suggestion about a big birthday party for everyone. Yukio tells them to have fun but Shiemi says “No, you are going, too! That’s obvious, right!?” Yukio gives in, and Rin says that’s the first time Shiemi’s ever been so forceful with Yukio and the others agree. Rin says “this just occurred to me, but... could she be dying…?” The others stare at him, but Izumo says “I also thought that”, and Bon says it, too. Izumo says “I’m serious, isn’t it strange that she would suddenly do that!? She was fixated on becoming an exorcist, and she worried about being opposed!” She keeps going until Yukio tells them to calm down. He says it’s not very probable because her health examination was excellent, and everyone calms down. Rin decides he’ll ask her directly, and Yukio and Izumo hold him back and tell him it’s a their secret.
Shiemi gives everyone their assignments for the part (Rin and Miwa on food, decorations Yukio and Suguro, and cake is Shima and Izumo). She takes on the tree duty. Rin tries to bring it up again and Yukio grabs him and they leave. Afterwards, the group is discussing it again and Yukio says there’s no way she’s dying, but there’s a high possibiity that something else happened. Konekomaru thinks it might be a hopeless situation instead. They think of some really…strange…reasons, and Shima laughs and says “she just wasn’t suited for this and wanted to do something else, and maybe she just wanted to have fun with everyone at the party.” Yukio agrees, and then we see them go on their separate ways.
Izumo and Shima are together (in the Cake Team). Izumo wonders why she’s stuck with him, and he says “Let’s have some fun.” She replies that she’s worried about Shiemi, and asks “Do you know something!?” but he replies that he’s not a spy like that and that he doesn’t know anything. They come to the cake shop, but there’s a really long line out the door. Shima balks, but Izumo says there’s no many opportunities to buy a whole cake, and that if he wants to go home, he can. He says he won’t because it’s his chance at a date with her. They fight about him being a spy some more, and she says that she never thought she’d do thinks like stand in like for christmas cake or worry about Shiemi Moriyama. Shima says Izumo is different from him now, and she says they are the same. They get into the shop and she is very girly over the cake while Shima calls her “cute”.
The Decoration Team, Yukio and Suguro, are shopping. Yukio says he’ll leave it to Suguro since he’s not good at this sort of thing, and Suguro tells him that if he’s busy or still too hurt, Yukio can go home and just come to the party the next day. Yukio refuses, and he says Suguro must also be busy, and Suguro agrees. Yukio realizes that he was mistaken about who invited him…that the other party is the Arch Knight Lightning, and there’s no way to refuse him. Yukio says “I heard that Lightning is taking you around everywhere, it must be tough”, and Suguro says he he likes it.
Rin and Konekomaru are on the Food Team, and they are pricing out Turkey (and wow, it IS really expensive - $200), and they decide on karaage and chirashi (yum yum) instead.
Back with Suguro, he’s going through documents while Lightning sleeps on the couch. He says “Lightning has slept straight since then” and as he starts going through the clone paperwork, he sees the name “Shiro” for number 004. When he looks at the picture, he’s shocked because it’s Shiro Fujimoto, the former Paladin. He was Azazel’s clone. He then notices that the experiment record for 005 is missing. Lightning wakes up and asks him what he’s doing, and he says “005 is probably Satan” and asks to take out more materials on it. He then says “Furthermore, Shiro Fujimoto is Azazel’s clone, so does that mean the Okumura brothers inherited the blood of Azazel’s nephilim…?” Lightning tells him “You should get a little rest, Ryuuji”, and to leave it to him. Suguro gets mad because all he’s done since coming back from Azazel is sleep, eat, sleep and sleep. Suguro wonders what this world is, and what Gehenna is. He then asks lightning what Satan is, and Lightning says that’s something he also wants to find out, but they have to find the Illuminati’s headquarters first. Lightning says Mephisto isn’t reliable on that, and that he sleeps when he reaches an impasse. Suguro asks to go to the party the next day and Lightning says yes. Lightning tells him “Listen, if I give you an order, it’s not like you have to abide by it” because he’ll go crazy if faced with ‘that kind of thing’ directly. Suguro says “I understand, now let me sleep” and tucks Lightning back in.
Elsewhere, Shura tells Yukio he can go to the party, too (she’s drinking juice, btw). Yukio says “Honestly, if you could give me a mission, it would help me out. I don’t really know what to do at parties.” She tells him that he needs to have fun with people his own age sometimes, and he says he’ll trade places with her. She says she’s busy for the next 24 hours, and he asks if it’s a date. She says it’s a dating party because she wanted to start looking for a lifelong partner after she got back from Aomori. He says she’s changed, and she says that she has a longer lifespan, so she’s even watching her health (wow). He says he’ll pray for her happiness, and she notices something off screen (but we don’t see what).
We see Rin and Shima celebrating as the semester has ended. Shiemi has found this magnificent tree, and Suguro and Yukio start decorations. Suguro thinks that Yukio’s arm is still too broken to make decorations, but he says that he’s just always been bad at arts and crafts. Yukio says “But it brings back memories…we had to do this kind of thing when I was little, this time of year the monostary was busy with this event” (Obvioiusly, it’s Christmas). He says that he and his brother were clumsy and made awful stuff, but their father didn’t care and would use them to decorate anyway. “Quantity over quality” he would say, but they didn’t improve at all. Yukio stops when he sees Suguro’s face, and asks him what’s wrong. Suguro says “It-it’s nothing, I was just thinking that’s a nice story, let’s finish decorating.”
Yukio says “Forgive me…” “-ther” and we see a flashback. Little Yukio asks where their real parents are and what they are like. Shiro asks “Do you really want to know?” and Yukio says yes, and Shiro says he knew this day would come. He says he found them on a cold morning under a bridge on Dec. 27th, and that he doesn’t know who their real parents are. He says that they don’t need to worry since he found them, and to eat, brush their teeth and get in bed, because Santa (not Satan, for once) is coming. Little Yukio thinks “he’s lying” and says “He definitely knows! Why does he hide it?” and Rin says “if he says he doesn’t know, he doesn’t know” and “I’m fine with not knowing.” Little Yukio asks “Why?” I don’t know think Rin wants to know. Then older Yukio thinks “I want to know.”
And that’s it. There’s a little extra story after, but I’m not going to bother with that right now. Enjoy!
