Cobra by Megan Thee Stallion fills me with so many emotions but above all I'm so fucking proud of her. 16. a tiny detail in canon that u want more people to appreciate

we talked about this before but i really like how rise of phoenixes handles the crossdressing trope. quippe quest mentions this in their videos at some point i think; feng zhiwei is allowed to actually look like a man when she dresses up as a man, and the additional layer her crossdressing shenanigans add to the exploration of her arc that ends in her being completely stripped from all she has at the beginning (agency, autonomy, freedom, value) is all the more gutpunching. i look at her being all unrestrained (as a person) when she dresses up, moving around freely and doing what she wants (as per her nature), and then i look at who she is forced to become once the emperor finds out about it and it gets public. its honestly horrible, like a horror movie (feng zhiwei fmv horror edit?). so the maturity and nuance with which they approach and utilize it is smth i wish would be talked about more, if only because its so dear to me personally and i think everyone should talk about it all the time

,,,, ,,, actually this probably doesnt really count as a tiny detail //w// , ,, i thought of it because theyre so casual with it in canon!!! though feng zhiwei‘s ~real gender~TM is a plot point, the show doesnt really make a fuss around the crossdressing in itself (compared to how other stories usually handle it). so i thought of it as tiny and a detail even though its not really tiny, and its more the attention to detail that i would like for everyone to appreciate forever.

HERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE ANSWER: zhiwei‘s long ass hair that she takes down at the end of the forst day at the academy when sits in the window just before going to bed . everyone is talking about ning yi‘s hair but!!!! what about hers!!!!! its literally right there!!!! its such a beautiful scene, she looks so good. and i think its the only time she ever takes down her hair where we see it right? right? it doesnt happen at all at any other point :) surely :). so beautiful when u can take down your hair of your own volution in a world where taking your hair down signifies vulnerability and can unmask you as a woman! :) :):):) great scene where zhiwei is in full control of her fate and pursues her happiness and taking her hair down in the privacy of her room, with only gu nanyi to see, is such a big show of trust (in him) and faith (in her future) :) im fine why do u ask

20. your very first fandom

oh this is a mean pick!!!!!! me having like a hole in my head etc!!!!! but one of my earliest beloveds media that i could count as me entering a fandom of any kind is the donald duck franchise. dont really have a better name for it. i could call it the Mickey Mouse Franchise but that would be A Lie. mickey mouse has nothing to do with it at all! i had fan magazines and would dress up as phantomias and would spent time reading comics with my friends and brother and i would annoy literal strangers into lending me their comics if i so much as sniffed out that they had a collection at home. i also drew and wrote fanart and fanfic, though i never finished anything, my aspirations were too high for my fragile constitution also known as patience and stamina TvT. smth thats STILL a problem tbh. i cant write short stuff yet keeping it up for so long is Hard. anywhomst. i remember looking at the pictures before i learned to read and making up the story in my head so this being my first fandom might not be that far off!!!!!!

also agree with this. it's something i do struggle with though, like when i find out an actor or someone i liked or whose work i enjoyed is actually a shitty person. and part of that is on me bc i tend to get pretty invested with them as people when i enjoy their work. I admire and look up to them and then it's like the movies theyre in and all my good feelings and memories associated with them are tainted. or I feel embarrassed/ashamed when i say I'm a fan of a movie they're in. Johnny Depp is a really good example of this for me. Back in the Day, I had a massive hyperfixation with him, Tim Burton, and Helena Bonham Carter. I fell out of love with him way before all the stuff with Amber Heard anyway, but I still love Alice in Wonderland and Sweeney Todd and a lot of those movies and then I feel like a dick bc i don't want people to think I support him? I'm probably losing the point here but I think you'll get what I mean.

Anywhomst, I do agree that for the most part, that's true. Like I know my values and beliefs and I know that I genuinely do my best to be a good person. But I'm not perfect and I've definitely done and continue to do a lot of growing. But at the same time, I can understand why people like the previous anon would be disappointed to learn someone is a fan of Taylor Swift. I think both statements can be true, at least to some degree, you know what I mean?

I don't say this in a negative way im just genuinely curious 🤧 and I don't know if this has been answered before but I'd love to know about how you got into skz and how minho became your bias 🫶 I love everything you write about him!! your love for him is really visible in the way you write him and I think that's what makes it so good 🥹

the main reason why i’m writing more for skz (mostly lino) at the moment is just bc that’s where the inspiration is coming from right now, and that has been really refreshing! the tannies are on hiatus so i figured it might also be a good time for me to take a little break too and try out new things

as for how i got into skz/lino, heheheheheh 😈 tbh after i got into kpop again, i was only keeping up with the tannies and i knew essentially nothing about any of the other groups (skz included). tho you might’ve noticed that i was starting to get into txt back in august/september (i love them and they’re my babies but i don’t really stan them the same way i do with the tannies and skz). anywhomst, idk if you knew about the obs discord server, but in the server we used to do movie nights where we would rewatch run bts and suchwita. there was one day where not everyone could attend and i didn’t want them to miss out on us watching run bts so we just played random videos and compilations and i started putting on lino fancams (at that point i had been intrigued by him after seeing some gifs of him at the vma’s on my dash eheheheh) and i wanted to scratch that itch a lil bit. we had a couple of people in the server who were also skz stans so it was fun watching with them! and they put on skz music for us to listen to. and i fell in love with mimo in that one night lmao 🤣 and i have been Down Bad ever since <3

hcs about world meetings because it came up in smth i was writing and now im thinking about it

so ive seen the take that world meetings are basically just the nations hanging out while actual politicians do politics and i like that but i would like to add that the purpose of world meetings is so that the nations can chit chat about their own politics and then take notes back to their politicians, as a sort of second opinion/What X Country Is Actually Thinking (very useful and useless during the cold war, depending on how alfred and ivan were feeling that day)

the way meetings work is that they have a roster of all the nation personifications and their countries they live in (because not every personification comes with its own political entity) organized aphabetically, with the location of the meeting changing every time

a new cycle would start with afghanistan, albania, algeria, andorra, angola, etc and end in zimbabwe

meetings happen once a month, so a given country doesn’t have to get too stressed out about hosting the world meeting

every personification is always invited, although not all are always able to show up due to various constraints or just deciding to skip it that day

they cycle through various topics as well, although common ones are trade, natural disasters, peacekeeping, etc

usually the nation hosting sets up housing for everyone else

they usually dont last more than like a long weekend and a week at most, but they’re also not very productive either..like ideally the nations do more than hang out and call each other stupid but practically speaking thats all they do

its actually more similar to the world’s most expensive and well researched model un, except the nations don’t really do that much research lmao (but they also don’t really need to cause they just sort of intrinsically know what’s up)

Look who I found! This is Phoenix, my mom’s cat! She’s a whopping 15 years old and I managed to nab her and bring her inside. Excepting August, she’s like the progenitor of all my cats, born back when I was 10 and we had a feral colony living in our backyard that we were feeding (eventually, we had animal control remove them, they were getting too numerous).

August tried to make friends (he’s very friendly to other cats, which is a first for me), and she hissed as fiercely as a 15 year old cat could manage.
