so first and foremost-- since I've gotten addicted to fbje all the more lately, I stumbled upon a very pretty artwork within the manga. it's official, and I wondered how it'd fare if I were to implement it in terms of demon slayer's gaiden artstyle.

it's not the best, I think I ended up making her look fierce..I honestly wanted to give it komorebi--dappled sunlight, if you will--but my brush ended up not being as compatible with the chosen style of gaiden so...yeah, I ditched that and went for this idea instead!

Ok IDK if I'm noticing anything that might be weird or an oversight or SOMETHING but like...

Everyone continuously feeds Persephone sweets. No joke. Eros gives her the honeycomb (with no bread) and some sort of pastry with honey. Hades gets her tiny cupcakes and donuts. The only time she's eating something genuinely like a meal is when either she orders it herself (see the Chinese food she has with Hades and the salad she orders when she talks with Eros and Daphne) or is given to her by someone who at least kind of respects her (see Hera and the "I forgot you were a vegetarian" shut where the poor girl only got a scrap of lettuce and some stuff I can't spell). Its a legitimate THEME. Hell! Even ARES just gives her a VANILLA protein bar!!

All of the food Persephone is given by the men in her life are SMALL and SWEET. All of the food Persephone orders for HERSELF are NORMAL PORTION SIZES.

Idk what this is supposed to say in the series or if it means something, but it sounds like

Infantilization.

Yeppp we were talking about this in the ULO Discord briefly, and I realized myself that it falls into Rachel's weird infatuation with the whole "lolita" thing, beyond just the aesthetic of being cute and eating sweets (which is like, completely innocent and a big part of the fashion aesthetic), but treads into the territory of infantilization which Rachel has definitely been guilty of in the past.

I hadn't come to the conclusion of that pattern yet though, and that's definitely pretty telling. Considering Rachel's history of drawing girls who "radiate innocence and deviance", I wouldn't be surprised if it was solely for the purpose of making Persephone seem more like a delicate little child.

APPARENTLY (according to a ULO pal) there IS something out there that states, canonically, Persephone is "like a hummingbird" and needs to eat a lot of sugar, and while I VAGUELY remember reading something like that, I don't remember where that was sourced from so it could have been something from the now defunct Patreon or a wayback post somewhere. If anyone finds this, PLEASE hook me up, because that's wild and it seems like it was done purely to further infantilize her as a tiny fragile thing that needs to only eat sweets. It also contradicts that in the plot anyways when, as you pointed out, a lot of the time when she makes food for herself, it's not sweets. So it comes across more as the guys just giving her sweets because "awww she's so cute! have a cupcake!"

i finished rewatching good omens for the 47366437 time with my mum and dad today and now i'd like to give my thoughts on season 1 finale regarding crowley and aziraphale's body swap, even though it has been 4 years 👍.

i use he/him for both crowley and aziraphale in this for clarity and because i think azi uses he/him in general and crowley uses he/they in present day (and y'all are obviously free to completely disagree with me, just a personal headcanon). also i'm way too lazy to find gifs or figure out how to make them so we're stuck with screenshots, hope you don't mind 👍

anyway. let's start with this:

"aziraphale" enters the bookshop! he's a lot more stiff that what real aziraphale would be after seeing his bookshop is fine. his facial expressions are very stiff and you can barely see any emotions on his face, which is very un-aziraphale-like, considering how much he adores his books.

he's also less comfortable in his shop than the aziraphale we know. despite crowley visiting the bookshop many times, he doesn't live there, which of course means he's not as comfortable in there. it also seems that crowley is trying to walk normally and is focusing on that a lot.

next up:

first of all, "crowley" walks with a lot less swagger and slithering, it could even be described as normal. obviously aziraphale is doing his best to imitate crowley but doesn't quite reach the crowley level of drunk snake-looking walking.

in the second picture, that smile is not a crowley smile. that's an aziraphale smile.

and he takes a taxi instead of driving his own car. crowley would never do that.

and then, the ice cream:

their roles are very obviously switched. if things were normal, aziraphale would be buying ice cream while crowley would be glancing at everything suspiciously and he's a lot more serious. aziraphale is just happy to get ice cream.

"crowley" also smiles at the man selling ice cream. that's not very crowley-like. it's more aziraphale to smile at people. and "aziraphale" doesn't seem very excited about his ice cream, which definitely isn't him.

"it's tickety-boo" that's an exclusively aziraphale phrase. crowley probably would rather die than say it in any other context than to mock aziraphale.

in hell "crowley" seems surprised to see michael there. i don't think crowley would be very surprised to see heaven and hell collaborating in a situation like this. he's a lot more aware of the similarities between heaven and hell than aziraphale is. i really think aziraphale is genuinely very surprised to see a high-ranking angel helping hell, whereas crowley wouldn't be surprised, knowing how similar they are.

"aziraphale" smiles, but it's very off, he's very stiff. anyone would be in this situation. but the way he smiles, how it's so far from kind and genuine and rather full of anger and resentment is very crowley.

and of course the last picture is so obviously crowley, who is extremely happy to say "fuck you" to heaven.

and lastly there's this. this is definitely the most obvious sign of them switching bodies.

Oh, and he has the nerve to puff unconcerned at that, glancing back to the endless neon screens displaying manufacturing demands, asking him to deal with that and that accident occuring in the multiple levels of Desaevio. He just swipes those away. Not even betting an eye at someone losing their life in a crash.

That still sends shivers down her spine and settles an uncomfortable weight in her stomach. Even though it's been a long while now, that Boreas' Blessing has accepted her into his family.

"Yes, I have. And I have attempted to prevent you from progressing further into my factories as well-," he shoots her a warning look without any threat in it over his shoulder, "-intruder."

"Ha! Please." Three Sparrows exclaims, rather directing her attention to her goal- the umbilical arm. She needs something to ground against after all, and at this point she knows better than to ask the ancient Iterator to turn off the antigravity. Blessing doesn't like doing that- the pull of the umbilical arm on his back hurts.

Not so subtly, the arm moves to meet her as she swims to it.

"You call *that* 'preventing'? You've got to be growing rusty. You gave me a harder time while trying to get to my apartment back during my school days than now."

"Hm. Yes, well... You are pulling on your 81st birthday. I have thought you would be appreciative of me being considerate of that fact." She settles on one of the last segments of the arm at its base and with the wave of the puppet's, all the screens close. "...what with being fully organic and all. Have your joints not been bothering you?"

As he brings himself closer, she pays him no mind. Rather eyeing her knee from her perch. And... yeppp, extending it properly produces a crack. It hurts a little. Blessing glares at the thing as if it just personally offended him.

"You *are* aware I could produce you a prosthe-"

"No." She quickly waves her hand in denial. "No- I mean... thank you, Blessing. For the offer. I do appreciate both it and you being considerate. I may not... like to hear it, but I guess I really am getting old. But I'd like to stay as much myself as I can the whole way."

"..." And the so-old-that-it's-hard-to-comprehend thing gives her this look. On the outside still twisted in anger- Three Sparrows is sure his face actually got stuck that way- but buried underneath... worry, pity, confusion... fear... all that plays there in the back. "...very well. I will stop asking then."

She gives him a little smile from behind her rebreather mask. "You said that last time I visited, too. You are just a big ol' carebear, B."

Huff, cross of arms. "What are you doing here this early anyway. You are scheduled to come by in a week before departing for Zephyrus."

Three Sparrows only gives him a shrug at that, averts her eyes. "I dunno. This might... be my final outing. To Zeph especially. I don't know when I'll start greying, I don't know when mom will die back home, the next few years seem..." her hands clasp each other, fidgeting, "They seem..."

His touch is strangely light, when his hand settles on top of hers. Hiding them both away effortlessly. He's cold.

But his voice is gentle and warm, the deep tone of it reassuring. "Uncertain."

Sigh. "Yeah... Uncertain. I'm scared." She shrugs again, trying to play that vulnerability off. "Either way, I might not see you guys in person again. I thought that was... horrible. I may have cried. A little bit." She eyes him, trying to force some play through the pain. "Only a teeny tiny bit."

"Right, yes." Blessing decides to indulge her, "Because every time I have seen you cry it definitely had not felt like I was close to witnessing a river for the first time."

That at least gets her to giggle a little. "You are the meanest person ever!"

"I will be sure to take that as a compliment, little sister." And he makes a show of rolling his eyes in total exasperation.

Through little laughs, she continues: "So I'm here to stay the week. Hang out with you a little before I'll go."

When he takes too long to reply, seemingly surprised, she adds a little unsure with one of her hands worming out from underneath his to put it over it. "You can still... send me on my way, though? If you don't want me."

Oh and there's such hurt in that statement. How could he, anyway? She's his responsibility, for the last twenty or so years. And his responsibilities are precious to him. Either by their value, as his work to manufacture parts- or by how cherished they are. How beloved they've become. And just like little Eurus, Three Sparrows has managed to become dear to him too.

With a soft squeeze of her hand, Blessing indirectly answers. "Are you going to stay here now? I shall fix the air for you, if so."

There's that smile again. So easy to paint on her features, yet not any less loved for it. "I'd like to. Thank you."

As the process starts, she tells him of her plans. Motions to the guitar case on her back, points to her media player apparently containing new songs she thinks he might like.

They shall sing, they shall watch a movie and then they shall talk some more. While Boreas' Blessing indulges her, he shall look for a place for her to stay for the week, too. It must've slipped her mind.

It's alright. He's here to look after her.

Just Finished Part 8 and I'm feeling feelings but I'm not sure if their good or bad.

So the talk between Satoru and Toji went pretty well actually. You go Toru for being a hundred percent honestly with your Baby Mama's boyfriend and completely throwing him off and knocking some since into him.

And go Toji at the end there for realize thing probably aren't going to work out well with how things are going with everything else going on but boy, you communication skills need so some work.

Anyways, lovely update. I hope college isn't stressing you out to much and that Part 9 is coming soon (but no rush take your time).

Why was I half expecting Satoru just to trauma dump on Toji about what Naomi and his mother did? Like bro was being so honest and it could have just slipped out on accident. Like how would Toji have reacted to Satoru be THAT honest with him.

action. i suck at action. i also suck at it in the way that i can't actually make myself start writing. i got way too co-dependent when i still had people excitedly participating in the process and now i sit here sad doing nothing :'D but anyway. writing action and having some self-discipline lol.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

depends very heavily on the context. in general i do think it should be all in one language for readability but there are exceptions. i've done it too lol but it was only like a line or two in finnish :'D

diru, twenty years ago lmao, it's like a different lifetime. i only learned of the existence of fanfic at the ripe old age of nineteen lol but yeah it's still been so long now.

Soundwave already found the initial "recruitment" of Tarn questionable. The DJD he has opinions of and especially the "criteria" of the List. Megatron being *involved* with Tarn, who was painfully obvious, wanted monogamy and only agreed because Megatron wanted to see other people was just the cherry on top, and Soundwave is very much not helping right now. Megatron can fix this. He is Not adding Megatron’s messy relationships to his faction duties, and Megatron is smart enough to not ask him.

Megatron, meanwhile, is having issues processing that and when Starscream finds out and proceeds to mock him about "of all the choices Tarn", he starts to wonder a.) Did any other accidents occur and b.) Did Tarn do ot on purpose (and therefore it wasn't his fault)?

Which leads to a.) Megatron making a point to get a health checkup and *his* protection appears to be fried and then having to call everyone he's slept with because both parties need it to guarantee no accidents happen and b.) summoning the DJD to meet him so he can thoroughly investigate this and the next Conclave Meeting is the perfect way to kill two birds with one stone.

Since he slept with most of them. He is starting to question the validity of mixing his military hierarchy with his lovers now.

Tarn is absolutely thrilled. The DJD is panicking because they know most of the rest of the Decepticons hate Tarn and with Megatron Blinders up Tarn isn't realizing the obvious safety risk of him being vulnerable sending them all into a tizzy.

The rest of the Conclave meanwhile are trading ideas on what exactly caused the meetup.

Including Drift/Deadlock who gets an alert and realizes *he was never removed from the group chat* because his defection must not have reached Megatron yet.

And ouch, if Drift needed further confirmation that Situationship was over, that did it. Though considering Deathsaurus is also still there and making cracks about whether this is a terrible trap or a pardon, this may be a bit on Starscream who is supposed to moderate it.

Hot Rod is now deeply invested in the drama of their recently acquired Ex-Con, especially with the ominous personal message from Megatron about "getting himself checked up", which leads to Drift revealing to his newest friend the former Situationship and now Hot Rod has adopted the role he never got to play before of getting to shittalk a friends shitty ex. He's very excited! It is both fun and supportive. Double win.

Even better, Drift's The Big Conversation account is still active, and Drift, spoofs Hot Rod some credentials for an acocunt and Hot Rod has free reign since he barely touched it anyway. The Conclave is apparently a big event and semi-holiday, and all the troops are speculating on what caused it. Hot Rod is eating up this gossip and then stumbles upon a new user (like himself) called "daughter.of.prion" complaining about an Amica's "terrible not-ex" and a new friendship is born.

Yeppp Sounders has opinions on this entire situation and ultimately? At this point it's not his problem.
