so anyway, my partner and i recently finished 100%-ing (as read on the in-game map, not true full exploration) all of currently playable teyvat. :3

other updates!! i don’t think sigewinne will be coming home this time,, unfortunately… but neither did clorinde, so i guess i’m not totally surprised? i was struggling to pull sethos, but i did manage to get him!! i’ve been working on building his talents a bit! it’s been so long since i’ve used a bow wielder on my main team but!! i got a little excited about him… i haven’t even played cyno’s second story quest yet, rip OTL

i finally ascended hu tao to 80 (i have been balancing too many people and not actually working on enough of them!) and am currently prioritizing working on kirara, partially for her upcoming skin and partially because i always wanted her to be a viable candidate for my main team! i have a small pool of characters that are actually “playable” atm and most of my 5 stars don’t have their signature weapons or any cons,,, so it’s kind of a little daunting to think of ever playing co-op with anyone except for my partner (i don’t want ur judgement, i know my damage is bad on everyone except wanderer,,, please,,, be niiiiice)

currently the only 4 star i’m missing is chevreuse! which is really neat, and i hope i get her soon! i’m still hoping the next 50/50 i lose will give me tighnari instead of yet another diluc or qiqi… siiiiigh,, he’s the only standard banner 5 star i’m missing now, and i kind of regret not pulling for him on the small time period he had his own banner…

I like to think they were all friends (Rouxls, Seam, and Jevil) before what happened with Jevil with Seam being a kind of straight man to both Rouxls and Jevil (who prolly pissed each other off a lot- well Jevil would prolly rile Rouxls up on purpose...lol) so I think Rouxls holds some respect for Seam but then they. Like. Yknow. Disappeared. So I like them rekindling a friendship later on :]

before I got surgery I didn’t really mind my chest?? But I sometimes wanted to wear dresses and didn’t bc of how other people would perceive me. Now that I’ve had surgery it’s this weird thing cause I’m like? Happy about it??? (part 2:) the plan was for me to get double incision for surgery but when he came in to draw on my chest he was like u don’t have Enough Skin bc I had lost weight bc of Adhd Meds so I got limited incision instead. Also I get the scars thing, I always wanted the double incision scars like for as long as I wanted top surgery and I’m really happy that I like was able to get them (I don’t weigh much either so I was actually worried about having enough skin for it and everything, luckily it worked out ok for me) but I’m sorry that you didn’t get the scars you wanted tho, its really fair for you to want them! Have you considered like getting double incision scars tattooed on? I’m sure you’d have to find a tattoo artist that’s like already got experience with doing realistic tattoos like that so it might be a bit of a challenge but that’s something I think can be done, and it’s something I’ve considered for myself for if my scars ever fade more than I like! (cause even with double incision I’ve seen post op pics where after just a few years you really can’t see the scars at all)

I agree with the point abt low empathy not making you a bad person but looking at the show i’d actually say that scratch has high empathy while molly has low empathy which is an idea i actually prefer for portraying this idea.

Even going back to episode one scratch is shown feeling bad for molly when she says how many friends she’s lost, he picked up on libby not enjoying her party before molly did, he looked genuinely sorry for sharon when he learnt she’d never won megacity despite no one else seeming to care, he helped out libby in episode 2 despite having no reason to and he changes his demeanour almost instantly whenever he sees molly acting sad or out of character…his comment abt low empathy seems more like a way to cover up this fact about himself because he doesnt seem to like when it makes his conscience act up

Molly by contrast constantly wants to do good, but is not the best at reading how her actions are actually affecting others. She doesnt pick up on libby’s very clear distress in both mazel tov libby and talent show, she doesnt seem to even think about how her friends feel through all of ready set snow, or how libby would feel having an unknown third party listening to her spill her guts about embarrassing stuff to molly, and she took years to pick up in the very obvious feud between sharon and nin.

Im not saying she has super low empathy but it seems lower than scratch. Typically, he seems to feel when he’s hurt someone pretty quickly, whereas molly takes a lot more time to figure it out. The difference between them is how they act on the empathy they do feel. Scratch usually fights against it, either to keep his emotional distance or because he gets what he wants if he does. Molly is almost always very quick to act when she realises she’s messed up and empathy aside is always looking for ways to make people happier. I kinda like that idea as a way of showcasing that empathy doesnt make you a good person automatically, its your actions that do. (Not that scratch is a bad person mind, but molly does the right thing more naturally and often than him). His empathy doesnt automatically make him a good person without effort on his part and molly’s struggles with it dont make her a bad person either

Scratch explicitly saying that he rarely feels empathy (episode 12) is so so important to me. Low empathy is often mischaracterized as an inherently negative trait, but Scratch is never portrayed as a bad person over it, even when compared to Molly, who has very high empathy. It is never shown as a bad trait or something to be remedied. Seeing low empathy portrayed as what it is - a completely neutral trait that has nothing to do with being a good person - is very refreshing to see for once.

I wanna expand on tags, I'm so sorry this gonna be such a rambly mess

I think about how it interacts with his grief, cause like, he lost them attempting to protect Wilbur from the explosion, and then went on to kill him.

And it's such a physical reminder of what he did and what he's lost, one you can't ignore in the way he just doesn't process his emotions. Cause like losing an aspect of mobility, or an part of daily living becomes painful is something that you cannot just carry on through as if nothings wrong. You forcably have to change ur habits. It's a very very tangible loss because it demands attention. He can't not change his lifestyle, he has to confront it.

Which is rough for Phil because so much of his coping strategy is like, saving up processing things for later.

Having to go through two mourning processes at once, of losing a loved one and also losing like, a part of ur body, is so fucking intense. Especially when the two are so so connected. Losing his wing to protect his son from an explosion he caused, and then killing Wilbur anyway, at this request. Like Phil would have given up everything for Wilbur, he gave up his fucking flight, and it didn't make a difference. Now he has to live with the consequences.

And it's not like linear. He has days where there are no issues, and other days he tries to take off from the bridge between his and Technos that happens to be so perfectly designed to allow that possibility. His love hate relationship with tridents where they expand the size of his world again, but they're not the same and they're so close to being flight that it makes the fact he lost a wing that much more raw and reopened.

And I think about how disability interacts with Ranboos story, about making accommodations, how Phil treats Ranboos autonomy, how he rolls with whatever Ranboo throws at him, how his primary concern is always that ranboo be safe, but it's never at the expense of Ranboo making his own decisions? It's so good. It's so good to see Ranboos personhood be unquestioned, regardless of what accomodations he needs. I'm losing coherency here but what I'm saying is disabled Phil is so Great and we should talk about it more. I think it can add a really rich element to the story and can highlight a really wonderful part of Phil and Ranboos dynamic. It gives physical form to a really important aspect of Phil's character arc, him having to process loss and guilt and grief, as he learns how to redefine his normal yet again.

But like the key thing is he'll be alright? It'll be different, but it'll be okay. He can't fly now and the world will keep turning. He just gotta accept this is part of his life and it's okay. Like Ranboo needs to accept that he's still a person, no matter what.

very interesting. honestly i feel like anyone who experiences discomfort from being gendered is valid, and that’s what it takes to actually be nonbinary, not just “feeling” genderless or anything. that’s where being nonbinary is a CHOICE. if you experience no discomfort but just id as nonbinary because it “feels right” then thats where my support immediately ends. trans people aren’t trans because it “feels right.” it’s because they experience discomfort strong enough to warrant them wanting to transition. so yeah, if someone feels discomfort from being seen as male or female, then i’d support them, though it is most likely just fluctuating dysphoria given the nature of how the neurosex works.

i view it as this: if the person identifies as nonbinary due to reasons other than gender roles, gender norms, heteronormativity, or anything similar, then it’s probably valid. so like, a bisexual who feels ~different~ when they date girls wouldn’t be nonbinary. that’s not how gender works and it’s normal for bisexuals to feel different depending on who they date. but, for another example, someone who feels uncomfortable being seen as male or female even if you take away gender norms, is probably the real deal. many people view their ‘gender” as the roles assigned to us by society, which is where my problem lies. not identifying with that role doesn’t make you trans. like, i don’t care whether people see me as female, male, or neither, but that doesn’t make me trans. identifying as trans would be a CHOICE, that’s why i’m not trans.

anyway, as for you, you could be experiencing fluctuating dysphoria, possibly caused by self doubt, or of course the obvious atypical dysphoria. gender can’t fluctuate, but you could possibly have an intersex brain, similar to how intersex people are inbetween sexes? there’s no proof for it yet, and it’s not the most likely given that trans people already have intersex brains (due to how the neurosex and biological sex don’t match up, and the biological sex sends certain chemicals to the brain, causing it to form inbetween genders over time), but it’s not disproven, either.

in my opinion, it’s most likely that atypical dysphoria is caused by the neurosex being sent too many of the opposite gender’s chemicals, causing it to morph into a more intersex brain, and thus feeling weird being seen as either gender. so for example, a trans man is born with a male neurosex and a female biological sex. over the years, his body sends estrogen to his neurosex, causing it to morph from male to an intersex brain with a male base.

alternatively, an intersex person has their body mixing up what chemicals to send, again leading to an intersex gender. as a side note, i do wish they’d change “nonbinary” to “intergender” as it makes more sense imo and keeps things consistent.

i’m gonna shut up now. sorry this is so rambly, it’s just a weird special interest of mine and i never get to yell about it at people dkjdjkldlkj tho i do agree about the whole “gender being how your brain is wired” thing. gender is the connection to one’s sex, for the most part, and social dysphoria is a trigger for biological dysphoria. i feel like people make gender this big, dumb thing and we’d be better off abolishing gender, as a social thing, in its entirety. it should all be about sex and gender just, you know... Doesn’t Exist
