Your wish is my command:
@mythicallystupid I wrote this out pretty hastily (about an hour to write, research included) so I hope it meets your expectations. Anyways, good night for me and good morning to you.
Side note, the Floridian is based off of me and everything she says is true to my life except for how many times she nearly died. And the name. That’s not my real name.
Trillop glided into the cafeteria, setting down just short of the line to get dinner. She was excited for tonight’s meal. They were serving bananas and mangoes, her favorite human fruits. Piling her tray full of fruits, she scanned the cafeteria, looking for a specific group of people.
In the middle of the room, the humans and a few other species were mingling around the large communal table. Hans looked up from their conversation and saw Trillop looking at them, so he waved her over and gently shoved his human friend out of the way so she could sit down.
“I’m telling you, Florida is great. Sure it’s hot and humid and a literal breeding ground for dinosaurs and diseases, but I’ve lived there my whole life and I’ve only had ten near death experiences! Look at this picture, this is me riding my bike through thigh high flood waters with my grandfather after a hurricane. I had a great time! And don’t get me started on all the alligators and crocodiles I’ve held and eaten.”
“Ok, but see that’s not normal. Where I grew up, the worst thing I had to worry about was missing the bus to school.”
“But where’s the fun in not having to look for gator eyes and noses before jumping in a river and watching for cotton mouths?”
“Again not normal.”
Trillop looked back and forth between the two arguing humans. The Floridian was called Shark-Bait for the hat she always wore, most people didn’t even know her real name which was Crystal. The other was a human who had grown up in a very nice part of Italy. He was what the other humans would call sheltered by his parents and was constantly surprised by things other humans had grown up doing. Hans was a German with very traditional parents but once he was out on his own, he grew into his own man that confused his parents, but still made them proud. There were a few other humans but Trillop didn’t know them very well. Three had come from Spain, one from Canada, one from Brazil, one from China, and one from Thailand.
The Thailand human and Crystal were very close and had bonded over shared stories of deadly homelands.
“Look to sum Florida up, some Universities in Florida have a freshman level class that basically teaches you how to not die. Don’t pick that up, don’t eat that, don’t swim there, don’t even touch that, etc. etc.”
One of the Spaniards piped up after Crystal had finished talking. “Ok Florida sounds great, but what about Australia? Have you heard about the drop bears they have over there?”
Crystal grinned deviously, “Oh yeah, the drop bears. Monstrous creatures. Gotta wear Kevlar and head protection everywhere you go over there. And the dingoes. Did you hear about that lady who had her baby stolen by dingoes? And the Kangaroos too. You’ve gotta be a professional boxer if you want to survive a road trip out in the Aussie country side.”
Every non-human crew at the table had stopped their meal to listen to the Floridian. The more she spoke, the wider their eyes got and the lower their jaws dropped. By the time Crystal had finished regaling the table with her Australien knowledge, the humans were all trying to hide grins and the crew were trying to process everything she had said.
Crystal finished off her ramble with, “ And the Yara-ma-yea-who. Gotta watch out for that sucker. Don’t want to loose your skin to his fingers…Welp, time for me to head off to bed. Night y’all.”
Crystal and the humans all cleaned up their trays and left for their own individual bunks, leaving the rest of the crew dumbfounded and scrambling to look up the things that Crystal had said. None of them slept that night.
Three months later, the ship docked at a port to refuel and restock before continuing on to the International Fleet FOB in the star belt. While they were there, another human approached the Captain of the ship with orders to ride with them to their next location. He was settled in before last call and asleep before they shoved off from port.
The next day at dinner, the humans and their group of friends including Trillop were sitting at the communal table again. Crystal noticed the new human and called him over once he had his food. “Come on Hans, make room. Gotta fit another guy here.”
The newcomer thanked them and sat down, and Crystal asked him his name. “I’m Henry, come from Darwin. Nice to meet ya.”
“Ah, Australien I see. Nice to meet you. I’m Crystal, come from Florida.”
Trillop perked up at what Crystal had said. Australien? Wasn’t that the place with the drop bears and skin eating vampire? “You come from Australia? What’s it like over there? Is it really like what Crystal told us?”
Henry looked at Crystal who grinned at him. “Yeah I was telling them all about Australia. How you guys deal with drop bears, Dingoes, kangaroos, crocs, and the Yara-ma-yea-who.”
“Ah,” Henry replied. “Yeah Australia is just like that. I mean add on the octopus, the snakes, and the spiders. Did you tell them about the Hoop Snake? No? Yeah, this snake is one that you can’t run downhill from. It’ll take its tail in its mouth and roll down the hill like a wheel to catch you…and no one has ever outrun a hoop snake.”
The humans smirked at each other. They knew this was going to be a fun deployment.
As an Aussie I fuckin love the 'humans are space Australians' title, it hilarious.
(I would LOVE someone to use this as a short story prompt, PLEASE)
SO IMAGINE, a big cruiser has a few (like 10ish) humans on the crew (none of which are Aussie) and everyone is just chatting over 'lunch' and the topic switches to earth and it's cultures/countries. One of the humans decide to just go "fun fact, Australia is not only a country but also an island and continent all in one" so the whole conversation shifts to how dumb Australia is.
All the non-human crew are just staring at the group dumbfounded as they tell 'fun facts' about Australia.
Then one day an Australian Human needs a hitchhike to a station the cruiser is stopping at next (with permission [optional]) so during a meal time they basically get interrogated once everyone realises they are in fact an Australian and, as we do, they spread 'knowledge' of our wildlife such as drop bears and many creatures alike.
( FEEL FREE TO ADD :D )
#humans are space australians#humans are space orcs#humans are space oddities#humans are weird#humans are deathworlders#humans are complicated#humans are cool#aussies are total fibbers lol#we totally dont lie alot#you have no proof#DogWatch05#request

How ASL Bros React To Getting Married To You
A/N : well, I reallyyy want to write a nice long fic but like.. life man. I’m on spring break and have work all week and with my sleep problems 😭 just enjoy this please c:
Summary : what the asl brothers wedding would be like.
-
Luffy
“Woah! You look awesome, [Name]!”
So cheery and wholesome.
Zoro is his best man, ( much to Sanji’s dismay )
EVERYONE is there, every single person he’s ever met is there so it’s crowded and you basically had it outside, in Foosha Village, though he wanted it to be on the ship.
All of the girls Luffy’s met is responsible for your appearance, they all helped you on your big day.
Some of the marines were invited, of course.
Luffy’s best mans/groom mans ( idk) ( other than Zoro ) consists of Sabo, Ace, Sanji, Usopp, Franky, Brook, Law, Shanks and Koby.
Your bridesmaids consist of Nami, Robin ( maid of honor ), Perona, Tashigi, Vivi and Makino. ( shirahoshi and others didn’t have too much room to stand by you because of the guests so they just sat in their respective seats.)
Before it officially started, there was a lot of tension so separation in seats were needed. Big Mom’s crew is sitting on the left back, Marines in the front right, Law’s, Kid’s and Shanks and other pirates are put in the right back, and everyone else Luffy knows is in the front right.
Few are still in shock because of the fact that LUFFY is getting married before them.
A lot of yelling and laughter from everyone is around but as soon as the classic music is playing in the background, everyone shuts up and turns to face the back, where you’re walking with Garp.
Old man Garp is the one taking you, and even he is full of tears from the fact that his own grandson is getting married.
“You take care of my dumb ole’ grandson, you hear? If he ever becomes too much of an annoyance, just knock him a few times in the head.”
And when you finally reach him, everyone is quiet and has the proudest smiles on their faces. Their Luffy is all grown up.
His bright, radiating grin is plastered and he is pretty overwhelmed but right now, you’re distracted by his handsome look in his suit.
Of course, he has shorts instead of long dress pants but he still looked handsome regardless.
Vows are said, rings are given and you smile at Luffy as the minister ( Sengoku ) questions your commitment.
“Do you, [ Name LastName ] take this complete fool, Monkey D. Luffy, as your everlasting husband and, future pirate king?”
Chuckles are heard, and you couldn’t suppress a giggle either. “I do.”
“I see. I wish you luck on this journey. Luffy, you may now kiss the bride.”
Claps are heard around as Luffy grins. “About time!” He cheers and pulls you by your hands, quickly smashing your lips together in a kiss.
“Congrats, Luffy!”
“Not bad, Straw Hat.”
“Where’s the beer? Time to party!”
“Alright, Luffy! Woo!”
Music is quick to break out as everyone is celebrating and cheering.
You and Luffy already cut the cake, ( it took you a lot of force to make Luffy not shove his face in the cake and just CUT IT. )
The giant cake made by Sanji and the Big Mom family, was shared for everyone and there was still plenty left.
And it was just a fun time with everyone. You even threw your bouquet(?) behind you already and it seems the next to be wed was Tama!
Clearly some of the women weren’t too happy to see the little grow becoming married before them but it was a nice laugh.
The night goes on and it’s getting late. Guests are leaving after wishing the two of you well and you two head in for your suite that Nami booked as her present.
“It feels normal. I thought this was some big special thing, why is it such a big deal again?” Luffy questions, forgetting what the girls had told him the several nights before about weddings.
You smile gently and set the last wrapped gift to the side with the others, taking a glance at the shimmering ring on your left hand.
“Because,” you spin around and face your husband, reaching over and taking off his straw hat that he kept on.
“It swears our connection and commitment to each other. Why do you think Shanks married Makino, despite their long distance relationship?”
Luffy offers his gentle smile, seemingly more relaxed at the mention of the two of the most important people in his life, out of many.
“Because they love each other?” He guesses calmly, tilting his head and you nod, giggling at his black hair that swayed.
“And I love you.” You whisper, leaning closer and felt Luffy’s arms enveloping you in a tight hug, his face nuzzling into your neck.
“I love you, [Name].”
And he leans back, connecting his lips on yours.
-
Ace
“Oh..wow..”
Oh boy, did the Whitebeard crew go BIG.
I have a feeling that Ace would want something a little normal or smaller perhaps, just inviting his personal friends and family, and maybe a few people he met along the way of his journey.
He’s a friendly, outgoing person but for a personal occasion, it’s best to stick with the people you’re closest to.
But he wasn’t complaining when he saw the large äss party, feast and the important people in his life showing up.
Sabo, Luffy and his crew, Shanks, Makino, all of his brothers, members of his old crew, Garp, he was thrilled to see everyone!
The wedding was held on Whitebeard’s ship, of course. It wasn’t too fancy or grand but still pretty large and the ship was right in the middle of the sea.
Ace is all dressed up handsomely in his suit, with the help of Marco, Vista and Izo. His hair isn’t too messy and just styled neatly.
You were dressed beautifully in your gown/suit, with the help of the nurses, Nami, Robin and Izo.
There was a bit of trouble with seating but naturally, many people stood up anyways and were quite busy throwing confetti and other things at you, even if it was a wedding.
Whitebeard is taking you down the aisle, it’s a little bit difficult but he still did, and you can bet he’s excited to have a daughter/son that will help watch over Ace’s dumbass self.
“Rough him up real good, take good care of my stupid son. And call me Pops!”
When Ace sees you walking down, he’ll admit, he’s teary. He’s actually found love, someone like him.. and he’s about to be married to you, the most amazing, attractive, and sweetest person he’s met.
You look so amazing in your outfit, he’s in tears. He’s so lucky.. Marco has a hand on his shoulder and patting his back. “Congratulations, Ace. You deserve this.”
Wiping his tears with his finger, he nods and exhales, holding the widest, warmest smile he could muster.
He was going to love you and protect you all of his damn life, that’s for sure.
The minister is actually Vista! Ace’s best man is Marco and his groomsmans all include Thatch, Luffy, Jozu, Izo, and Haruta!
“Do you, [Name Lastname] take this young kid as your loyal, lawful and everlasting husband?”
“Really?” Ace pouts at Vista’s joke and chuckles are heard, even yours.
“I do, Vista. I’ll make sure he grows.” You giggle as Ace sighs in exasperation.
“Very well. I now pronounce you husband and wife, Ace, kiss your damn bride already.”
“My pleasure.” Ace grins and he’s quick in pulling your wrist towards him, and spinning you into a dipping motion before connecting your lips together in a kiss.
Whistles and catcalls are heard as loud cheers and applause are made.
“Go Ace!”
“Alright, Fire Fist!”
“Better not lose her, Ace!”
Ace rolls his eyes at the comments from his brothers and pulls you back up with a smile. He’s a little glad he didn’t fall asleep midway because of his narcolepsy.
Party immediately breaks out, Sanji aids Thatch in the kitchen to bring out everything and it’s a long night of dancing, boozing and more.
Ace is just off with the guys, having fun and celebrating while you are off with the women, talking about experiences and such.
And when Ace finally finds you and pulls you two away to his room for some alone time, he pulls you close.
“Well, Mrs. Fire Fist, what do you want to do first?~”
His arms are around your waist as he secures you towards him, a cheeky smile on display on his face.
“Not sure, what did you have in mind?” Playing coy, you shrug and tilt your head, turning away from his face which he pouts and uses his hand to force his back to him.
Pecking your lips, Ace smiles again and leads you to his bed. “I have an idea, if you’re up to it?” He wiggles his brows, making you laugh.
He jumps onto the bed, pulling you with him so you were on top. “Well?”
“Oh! Cuddles, I get it! Sure, I’m tired anyways.”
Ace groans at you, heaving a sigh and he whines. “Come on, [Naaamee]!”
You just giggle and sit up, repositioning yourself on his lap and straddled him. “Fine, fine. You’re lucky it’s our special day today.” You hum.
“Oh? So you don’t want to do this after today is over?” Ace muses, smirking a bit since he knew the answer.
You puff your cheeks out at the thought of not having sex with Ace anymore, but you weren’t going to back down. “..Nope!”
Knowing the truth, Ace chuckles and begins to grind upwards into you.
“Alright, I guess I better make this a special memory to remember.”
-
Sabo
“You look incredible, [Name]..”
The most average, normal one. It’s traditional, smaller than most would be, and it’s for personal guests only.
So close members of the revolutionary army, his brothers, Garp and Makino were the only ones invited. If Luffy wanted, he could bring his crew but that’s it!
It’s traditional, so it was held inside a chapel, of course. It wasn’t anything special, everything was set up already and prepared for a small group so it was great.
Sabo is in a dashing, handsome suit like Ace was, but somehow has a much more charming, princely appearance. He helped himself in the appearance, with smallest help of Inazuma.
Your dress too! Somehow it’s more Royal appearing and your veil resembles a crown in a way. Koala and Iva helped you out in this!
Sabo’s best man is actually Ace! The strongest brotherly bond overpowered the thought of having Kuma, Iva or Luffy as a best man, but fortunately, they didn’t seem to mind, since they were groomsmans anyways. Iva being both bridesmaid and groomsman.
Ace was pretty teary and honored, and felt so excited.
The one who takes you down the aisle is Dragon. He’s a little awkward about it at first but he is quite proud of Sabo, even if he doesn’t openly show it.
“Take good care of him, alright?”
“I will.” You assure, thanking him when you finally reach the point of Sabo’s side.
The whole time, Sabo is staring at you in awe, feeling speechless. How did he manage to get someone as beautiful and wholehearted as you?
He can’t contain his wide grin and excitement, his hands just a hint clammy from the nervousness of possible rejection. But he knew you loved him. Because he loves you.
“Someone looks handsome.” You whisper in a giggle and Sabo chuckles. “Not compared to the beauty you have right now.” He winks.
The minister is actually Kuma, of course. Kuma was the obvious choice. Kuma took the position with gratitude.
“[Name Lastname]. Do you take Chief of Staff Sabo, as your lawful, loyal and everlasting husband?”
“I do.”
“Congratulations. I now pronounce you husband and wife, Sabo, please do the honor of kissing your bride.”
Sabo is the most natural approach, taking a step forward and cupping your cheeks in his hands and pulling you forward, for a kiss.
Cheers and applause are made and heard, and Luffy, being the brother he is, pulls out a loud confetti popper and pulls it, it shooting it out everywhere like fireworks.
“Congratulations, you two!”
“Alright, time to get drinking!”
“Better not let this get in the way of your missions..”
“Luffy, how’d you even get that?!” Sabo widens his eyes and he laughs. “Franky made it for me! He said it’ll be super, for the wedding!”
“Geez..”
You can’t help the laugh that escapes your lips and Sabo finds himself laughing alongside you and the whole place is soon filled with laughter and cheer.
It’s a small family party but it was still pretty chaotic regardless, and Sabo makes sure to take you outside for some fresh air when it becomes nighttime.
“Hey, feeling okay?”
Taking a seat on the bench nearly, Sabo sits beside you and you nod, immediately leaning into his shoulder.
“It’s overwhelming, I guess..” the warm smile that spreads your lips is contagious as he does the same when he sees it. “But,”
You take a look at your ring finger, that held the beautiful silver ring and diamond. “I couldn’t be happier with today. I’m married to the love of my life.”
Sabo smiles gently and closed his eyes, leaning against the backrest and let the moonlight light against his face.
“I am, as well. I couldn’t be any luckier to be married to you now..” taking your hand in his, he intertwines your fingers and brings your hand up to kiss.
He kisses your ring finger specifically and hums.
“Thank you.. for being with me.. I love you, [Name].”
“Of course. Thank you for being with me. I love you, Sabo.”

My thoughts on Tales of Arcadia: Wizards 💚💚💚
LOOK OUT FOR THE SPOILERS!!!
...
...
...
...
SHORT VERSION
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA 😍😍😱😍😭😍😍😱😱😱😱😭😭😍😍😍😍😍😭😭😭😱😱😭😭😍😍😍😭😭😱😱😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😱😱😱😱😍😍😍😍😍
REGULAR VERSION
I don't know if I can fully express how emotionally exhausted I am right now. I cried. And I'm not talking about metaphorical tears or stuff like that, no-ho-ho, I'm talking real freaking tears. A roller coaster of emotions, truly. You stood by your words Aaron 👌
Douxie gets into the best protagonists I've ever seen group ASAP. Like, I knew I was going to love him but GREAT GAYLEN this is ridiculous. I WOULD DIE FOR THIS WIZARD AND HE WOULD PROBABLY WANT TO SAVE ME ANYWAY LIKE HE IS A POOR BABY WHO JUST WANTS TO BE RECOGNIZED BY HIS MASTER AND FIX EVERYTHING AND SAVE HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY AND I LOVE HIM SO MUCH AND AAAAAAA 🤯🤯🤯
JIAIRE 💙💜💙💜 Everything about them, from them wanting to find the other, to how much they just love each other so MUCH, to the kisses, to Claire not giving up on him, not even once. This is the ship, the OTP, the couple that went through so much yet somehow still made it. Bless them 💕💕💕
I'm biased because I love Steve and I generally don't mind comic relief, I think they are more useful than people think. That being said, yes it did feel a bit... useless? The part with Lancelot was still very cool anyway so good on that. Kinda felt like Steve found a group of dads in Camelot 😚 Also him sending that one message to Aja, that was something 😂 Can't help it liking Staja 💙💙 Although him calling out Eli so much was also very interesting 😏😏
Do I even have in me the words to fully express how amazing was Claire's arc in this? How she wanted nothing more but to save the man she loves? How she managed to get a hold onto her dark powers even though they are scary and she didn't want to become like Morgana? HOW CAN I FULLY EXPRESS HOW MUCH OF AN MVP WAS CLAIRE NUNEZ IN THIS??? 💜💜💜
Also Morgana? MORGANA??? We saw her point of view, the heart she used to have, the compassion that somehow brought her to the edge of darkness! And her redemption, AND ACTUAL!! REDEMPTION!! FOR MORGANA!! 😱😱😱😱😱 Her working with Claire, heck yeah, omg, I don't have words for such awesomeness 👌👌
Deya was glorious. I think we all kinda knew Callista was going to become the first trollhunter 😅 But she has such a strong and unique personality, and a background that makes sense for her to acquire a new identity as the first defender of the two worlds. I loved how much she connected with Jimbo, loved her A LOT 👌👌
Seeing Blinky and AAARRGGHH!! meeting for the first time and slowly building their friendship, that's the sappy stuff I'm looking for 😍😍
... wait now that I'm writing I realized, Angor Rot was there? Just that one cameo? That sounds a little suspicious 🤔
Okay sorry, I need preparation for this one *clears voice* Why is- No that's not right *cough a bit* Why is that...! No no still too low *deeply inhales* Okay so...
WHY IS THAT BEST BOY JIM ALWAYS GETS HORRIBLE STUFF THAT HE DOESN'T DESERVE?!?!? 😭😭😭
The luck of this kid, my world 😞 Besides this, man that was heartwrenching, loved it even thought it hurt a lot. And the best part is that, nothing was out of character, it all made perfect sense. Jim is and remains an altruistic person, even to a fault, who would and will think about others before himself, even if that means putting himself into such danger. I think him turning back into a human will generate a bit of controversy through the fandom, which I can understand, but personally I think it makes sense how they did it IN THIS WAY. Especially since he is now without amulet, after such a strong experience, in need to reshape himself... is this why in the game he doesn't have a troll form? NOW I'M WAITING FOR THE GAME EVEN MORE!!! 😍😍😍
The bonds. The bonds, freaking, how refreshing they were? Not only we didn't get a useless triangle with Jiaire and Douxie, him and Claire had a genuine friendship and he even taught her magic! And Archie was MAGNIFICENT?? 😭😭 Fully supportive, so close to Douxie, he clearly loves him dearly and wants only the best for him I LOVE THIS FAMILIAR SO MUCH 😍😍😍
And then Merlin... Wizards actually managed to make me feel sorry for him. And I would like to applaude the season for not making him fully good, like just because it was proved he cares about others doesn't mean he is not the known jerk that thinks about "the bigger picture" first before actual lives. Toby said it that nobody likes him (I know it was a joke but there is a bit of truth for me), Claire clearly despised him, even Douxie said it at the end that he wasn't perfect. But I think half his entire kind of redemption was right into his last words. He said his greatest accomplishment was saving Douxie. The greatest magician of all times said he did better saving a "nobody" than stuff like helping prevent the Eternal Night, or saving Camelot. I think he realized there the real bigger picture, and that actually made it hard for me to watch him pass. I really thought if he was ever going to die in the show, I would've been ecstatic 😅 But no, it felt like he died right when he was understanding. And that hurt... dang it TOA crew, playing with my heart!
But what hurt the most was just how much Merlin meant to Douxie. He was everything. His master. His friend. His father even. Not the perfect one, but one that made him who he is. He gave him a purpose, a path to follow, and a reason to be. And at the end he was someone who was even glad to see Douxie making choices different from his, like he was happy to see him taking a different path... I cried okay 😢
I know a lot of people were hoping and got rewarded to see Zoe involved, me included 😂 Didn't really explain much of the relationship between her and Doux, maybe another time? Still nice to see her pink hair again 💕💕💕
If any of you heard some kind of strong explosion coming from the general direction of Italy... that was me after seeing Krel again 😅😅 I am disappointed that he was barely involved (although him tinkering with Akiridion tech and magic was DOPE LET HIM DO MORE OF THAT) but apparently there's a movie coming next year so I'm guessing that one will show the arc Diego told us about?... I WANNA SEE MY LITTLE BOY IN ACTION AGAIN 💙💙💙💙
Also too bad Toby also didn't have that much of a role, hopefully they will fix that in the next installation 👍
I did like the Arcane Order, they all have cool as heck powers and amazing designs. With that being said, it felt like there's still stuff to discover? I freaked out for a month because of Skreal since he looked so much like an Akiridion, but Krel didn't acknowledge that? Is it just a coincidence? It didn't help the fact that they even have a similar name 😅 Also fire pal there had a mask... maybe it's just me but in my opinion masks should always be there because of a reveal. And they seemed pretty unknown. I loved these villains, they are cool as HECK and Skreal cracked me up 🤣 It just feels like we still don't know much about them
Also Nari is absolutely adorable and cute and PRECIOUS and I'm happy she's with Douxie and has that super cute disguise omg so freaking CUTE 💚💚💚
What a ride. What. A. Ride. I'm more than ever looking forward to this movie, because I hope we'll get Akiridions fully into this. Is this why the Genesis Seals are made of three parts? That would make sense
... wait wasn't Jim's dad supposed to be revealed here? Did I miss something? Or is it for the movie? I STILL HAVE QUESTIONS!!! 😱😱 The movie might actually be like a second season of Wizards. This one presented Douxie, the next one will be the final fusion of all the three franchises. CAN'T. WAIT. NOW ONTO THE VIDEOGAME 😍
FULL EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER 😭😭😭 Amazing, really amazing, and I'm really happy it's not the last we've seen of this franchise. The end will come, but not today my friends 😉

Helloooo, I want to try this too, it's sounds very interesting.
I hope you don't mind me being anon.
Could you write me a matchup for a vision, a male partner and a best friend and, only if you're in the mood, a enemy?
WARNUNG: It's a long text. I'm sorry ;.;
Most people are telling me "I'm too good for this world." because I'm always friendly, I try to help the best I can, doing my duties without complaining and never really fight with someone.
But actually, I'm just someone who likes to analyze people and react accordingly to they behavior. I want to understand people and I think the easiest way is to watch them. I'm very calm with a lot of patience and like to give advices. That's why people often come to me if they have something on they minds. I'm getting kinda uneasy if there is something I can't figure out. So, I like when people give me detailed explanation or description about something they want or need.
And even if people think I'm so friendly and kind, what I am, don't get me wrong, I love my peace and alone time. I'm way more productive if I'm on my own, because I can focus more and it's quiet. Also, I'm not the type of person who likes to be surrounded by many people. Mostly because I'm not so good at keeping a conversation alive, but I try. I like being around people I'm close to.
The friends and family I have are everything to me. I hold them dear and I always be there for them and try to keep them away from any harm. If they would betray me (what some really did) I would be completely heartbroken. I'm always scared that my loved ones will leave me. It's my biggest fear.
For a relationship, I think the person need a lot of patience with me because, like I said, I like to be alone. I'm also not a very affectionate lover, because I don't have many experiences. I'm fine with all those holding hands, cuddles, kisses and all but I would rarely be the one who make the first moves. If my lover is upset about it, I would trying to be more affectionate for the love of my partner to make him happier. I just want him to be happy.
But there is one thing I absolutely adore. Lying down, holding each other and just enjoying the atmosphere. No words (maybe a few) just cuddling and listen to each others heartbeat.
Some more informations if they're necessarily:
Things I like: dogs, drawing and painting, reading, warm weather with a soft breeze (I love this), respectful and understanding people, nighttime (including stargazing), meaningful conversations
Things I don't like: heat, arrogance, loud noises, to be bossing around, uncertainty, crowds
I'm sorry, it truly is pretty long. I hope you don't mind.
I hope everything I wrote makes sense to you. Thanks for doing this, I'm looking forward to read it :D
Have a nice day and stay healthy!
(chin up if your day was not so pleasant❤️)
Hey! I don't mind people being Anon at all! I don't know if you will find it funny or scary but I always think people “too good for this world” will die early. Eh anyways here are your results!
You received... A Hydro vision! Generosity, devotion to people, always helping others, and mastery are the main characteristics of the Hydro vision. • Last time I forgot the mastery thing and reading the analyzing part made me remember that it was also a characteristic of the Hydro vision. It seems that you are a great analyzer, you have your own way of analyzing people and you seem to do it accurately. • I feel that if you want to have clear indications on what you need to do for someone it's not only to greatly fulfill the task (which would mostly look like a Geo trait) but it's to satisfy the person the most. • You have a strong bond with people. I don't know if that's the case but I wouldn't be surprised if every time you have to make a decision or you think about something important, you will first think about people you love, like if it would hurt them if it would be more convenient for them or what would they think about it. Your partner would be... Diluc! A silent but soothing relationship. Two icons of Mondstadt. • The first time he heard your voice was at Angel's Share where you were talking with Eula. The bar wasn't crowded so you were feeling comfortable enough to talk properly with her. You were debating about Kaeya. You didn't really know him but you still shared the feelings you had about him with her. Because of Eula's presence, the few present people at the bar became a bit more silent, letting Diluc hear better of what you were saying. “Kaeya? Hmm... I don't really know him but I feel something off... The few times I've seen him he seemed quite dramatic. But the kind of drama attitude you use to hide weakness.” • In addition to your calm voice, he also liked your perception. He wanted to know more about you. As you were about to pay with Eula at the counter, Diluc spoke: “I heard you talking about Kaeya earlier. You seem to have good intuition.” He paused and crossed his arms, looking elsewhere. “You can only trust half of what he says... At best.” • Sometimes you went back to Angel's Share (not purposefully but most of the time it was during his shift) to buy a bottle of a drink to your liking, and little by little you began to appreciate each other pretty well. • At the beginning of your relationship, both of you would be clumsy because of your lack of experience but slowly, you would learn together. After being more confident, you'd both engage things equally. Diluc would be very romantic with you. • You share a common thing with Diluc: serving Mondstadt. You during the day, helping people, friends or friends of friends with their tasks or problems and Diluc at night, preventing the evil to reach the city. • Even though his facade can show a grumpy man, you can see what's really inside and that's what you love. • You would share a lot of relaxing moments privately. Both of you like a calm atmosphere, perfect to share a great moment together. • You two are popular in Mondstadt. Diluc already has his reputation but you, you are loved because of your pure kindness towards everyone. You won't spend a lot of time together publicly but when you do, people feel like seeing celebrities in front of their eyes. Your friend would be... Eula! “How dare they befriend me while being so popular? They will just bring more attention to me and my plans of vengeance! For this, they must pay!” • You get along very well with everyone in Mondstadt (except one person that we'll mention later) but your best friend remains Eula. • You are very close and actually, there are no specific reasons why you get along well but you do! • Both of you talk freely and most of your discussions are interesting. • When you hang out, you always go somewhere to eventually improvise things. • She likes the fact that anything you'll engage you into, you'll do it with finesse and without a complaint. Your enemy would be... Kaeya! And it's not even Diluc's fault • You find him suspicious and you know for sure that you will never truly know why. • He considers you like a sort of threat so he will be especially careful
around you. He knows how to lie but he would get better at it to cover himself even more. Which is a clumsy move from him because it will make him even more suspicious to you. • You try to avoid his case with Diluc for fear of getting him annoyed. • Deep down, there is no hate between you two. Kaeya knows you're perceptive and it just makes him insecure while you just wonder what he is hiding, by innocent curiosity. Worth to mention (but you mentioned you didn't like uncertainty plus, this is a long list, so you can ignore it if you want) : • You would be a great ally for Beidou but I think you would refuse to be a part of her crew because of the inconvenient lifestyle. • You, Xingqiu, and Chongyun would form a great trio! It would be mainly led by Chongyun who's heading out for an exorcising, Xingqiu willing to join him and by the way, inviting you. You would accept because all the moments spent with them are wholesome and also because you would be curious about ghosts, even if at first you thought you'd be more of a bother than anything else. You'd be a great ally for Chongyun too: he needs calm and you are, both of you don't like heat and you could help him with anything, it would always be easy and not tiring tasks. • Xingqiu finds you honorable. • You are a great support for Ganyu. • Jean respects you a lot, she could even admire you. • You share similar values with Keqing so you get along well too. You can count on each other and you would even be invited to a shopping session with common friends. • There could be interesting things between you and Xiao because he would truly appreciate you. A common situation would be you going to Wangshu Inn because you'd need a place to sleep for a night or two and during your stay, you would meet Xiao randomly. You would both say hi, pleased to see each other, Xiao's face would relax by seeing you. But there's nothing more. If this happened in a universe where there is a reincarnation process, I'd say that you were together in a past life, only death has managed to separate you, and now, you meet again but live your lives respectively. I hope it suits you and I also hope you don't mind Diluc's part being very long (and the worth mentioning too) and actually my answer being longer than your description eventually haha I almost did nothing yesterday so I'm gonna catch up today. But before, I have to do my dailies

newsies west side story au?
Okay, but just know that this isn’t going to be about race because it doesn’t work in my brain. The Jets will be the Manhattan Newsies and the Sharks will be the Brooklyn boys.
West Side Story AU
Characters
Jack Kelly — Tony
Katherine Plumber — Maria
Racetrack Higgins — Riff
Spot Conlon — Bernardo
Riddle — Anita
Hot Shot — Chino
Specs — Diesel/Ice (stage vs. movie)
Kloppman — Doc
Snyder — Schrank
Wiesel — Krupke
Okay, so…
Racetrack Higgins is the leader of the Jets, a gang that rules over the streets of Manhattan. They are well known throughout the city and people know not to mess with them, less they want to have the entire gang attack them for messing with one of their own.
Spot Conlon is the leader of the Sharks. They have ruled over the streets of Brooklyn for nearly a decade and are quite possibly the most feared gang in all of New York. But they are beginning to get hungry for more territory.
So they begin to infiltrate Manhattan.
Race and Spot had agreed on a truce about a year ago, but it’s clear that Spot is gearing to break it any day and Race is preparing his boys for the worst.
The Jets and the Sharks have been at each other’s throats for weeks, antagonizing each other, leaving bruises and never backing down from a fight.
But officer Weasel and Lieutenant Spider are always right around the corner to break up the fight. Snyder the Spider is known to hunt down the gang, more solely the underage kids, trying to bust them and get them put into the Refuge for the bonus he gets with every new “refugee” as most of these boys are orphans. But Race and Spot always manage to talk their boys out of trouble.
Knowing there’s going to be a party down at Jacobi’s diner, Race tells his crew that he’s gonna propose a rumble to Spot who was never one to back down from a fight. The dance was neutral territory. No one could get hurt there. The boys are hesitant as they’re afraid of the Brooklyn gang, but refuse to admit it. Knowing this, Race promises to get Jack to go to the party, his best friend and the Jets’ former leader who all the boys look up to very much.
Getting Jack to go is an entirely different problem. Race lives with Jack and Jack’s adoptive mother Miss Medda Larkin, as living with his uncle just gets Race new bruises every night. They’re as close as brothers can be.
Jack, who’s grown up and left the Jets for an adult’s life where he has a job and good money, doesn’t want to be a part of this rumble. Though Jack was the best fighter when he was the leader of the Jets, he no longer likes to resort to violence and is constantly trying to help Race grow up and get a job. Race doesn’t let that happen.
Regardless, Race invokes their brother bond with a word that means the other has to be there for them no questions asked, no matter what. So Jack promises Race he’ll be there, ten o’clock sharp.
Meanwhile, Spot is inviting his girl, Riddle (it’s weird to not write Sprace, but Riddle is an amazing OC of my friend @bexlynne and she’s great for this part) and his cousin, Katherine, to attend the party with him and his boys. Katherine is very excited about this as she doesn’t get out much. She lives with Spot and Spot’s girl as she and her father don’t get along and Spot offers her a place to stay and people to take care of her.
Riddle helps her get ready and they are the two most stunning girls attending the party.
At the party, Race and Spot basically have a battle to see who can have the most fun. Jack is trying to keep his boys away from the Sharks but gets distracted when he spots Katherine across the room.
It’s almost like time freezes. Like they’re the only two people in the world when Katherine’s eyes meet his own.
So Jack asks her to dance.
That’s when things begin to spiral downhill.
Jack and Katherine fall into an easy rhythm for an hour or two as they sneak out of the party, knowing they wouldn’t be widely accepted but also knowing that they wanted to get to know each other more.
Jack shows Katherine Manhattan. Katherine teaches Jack how to cheat at poker, which Jack comments will really help him when going up against Race who he believes uses the same tricks. It’s then that Jack begins to call Katherine “Ace”.
Katherine loves to explore. Her father has been looking for her. She doesn’t want to go back to him. So Spot doesn’t let her get out very often. Jack promises that he’ll protect her and then he takes her back to the dance where Spot has been worried sick. He takes Katherine home and threatens Jack who threatens him back only for Race to pull him away, reminding him that he can’t fight the Sharks on neutral territory.
Race then tells Spot to meet him at a little hang out (a drug store) called The Lodge for a War Council. Spot agrees before he leaves.
Jack follows Spot, Riddle and Katherine back to Brooklyn where he calls for Katherine and climbs her fire escape just to kiss her and tell her he had to see her again. Katherine tells him that she works at a theatre, sewing costumes and he can meet her there the next day. And he promises he’ll be there.
That night, Riddle tells Spot that if he meets the Jets for a War Council, she won’t be patiently waiting for him when he gets back. Spot still goes.
Spot and Race meet up at The Lodge, run by Todd Kloppman. Jack works there.
Race and Spot agree on a rumble, meeting beneath the highway. Jack talks them down, not liking the idea while he was falling quickly for Spot’s cousin, over whom he’s very protective. He talks Race and Spot down into only using their fists and no weapons, making the fight fair and less likely to end in disaster. Naturally, Spot, who’s been wanting to bite Jack’s head off ever since the party, believes he’ll be fighting the other man but Race tells him he agreed to fight the best fighter who is a current member of the Jets, who would be Mush, Race’s second. Spot doesn’t argue as they already shook hands.
After this, the Sharks leave and Snyder waltzes into The Lodge, questioning the boys, knowing a rumble is about to begin before trying to target them individually, asking how Albert’s mother’s corner is in business and how Crutchie’s dad is doing in prison. Kloppman and Jack get Snyder out, telling him he has no clue what he’s talking about and barely stopping Race from stabbing Snyder in the back.
The next day, Katherine is excited about seeing Jack again, but hears news of the rumble from Riddle who tells her that she’d be waiting to take care of Spot and give him a present when he comes home that night. Hearing this, Katherine is scared for everyone’s safety. When Jack arrives, Riddle promises she won’t give away Katherine’s secret but urges Katherine to end it anyway, despite Jack being right in front of her.
Jack tries to sweep Katherine off her feet again but Katherine stops him, begging him to stop the fight as she doesn’t want anyone getting hurt and if they can make peace between the gangs, maybe they can happily be together. When Jack agrees, Katherine melts and Jack and her dance in the theatre with a single spotlight on them and fall a little more in love with each other.
At the rumble, things are all going according to the agreement previously set up. Mush and Spot begin to wrestle until Jack meets them there and breaks up the fight, trying to unite the gangs through experience. Race tries to pull Jack back, knowing nothing good can come from this, but Spot just begins to fight Jack who refuses to put up a fight until Race, unable to watch his brother get hurt, instinctively punches Spot in the face.
This results in Spot sliding his pocket knife out, prompting Race to do the same.
Horrified at this, Jack tries desperately to pull Race away and talk him down, unable to watch the kid get hurt for him. But the other Jets hold him back. Jack cries out the secret word that they have that means “no questions asked, no matter what” so Race pauses, turning away and throwing his knife down until Spot calls him a not so nice name and Race turns around only to have Spot’s knife stab into his stomach.
The Jets let Jack go just in time for him to catch Race before he hits the ground. Race is crying, admitting for the first time in his life that he’s scared and not ready to die. He only lasts a minute before he’s gone.
Acting completely on instinct, Jack grabs Race’s knife and stands up, stabbing Spot in the exact place that he stabbed Race. That’s when a full fledged fight breaks out.
Jack is only able to process what just happened when the sirens are heard in the distance. Everyone scatters except for Jack who goes to hold Race again, closing the boy’s eyes for him before kissing him on the head and leaving him when Crutchie comes back to drag him away before Snyder gets him.
Katherine has no idea what transpired and she waits patiently for Jack to meet her at her window. When he doesn’t show, she goes out to find him, finding Hot Shot instead who’s getting a gun ready. He tells her that Jack killed Spot and Katherine doesn’t believe him, trying to run away before she hears Riddle screaming and sobbing in the other room calling Jack Kelly a murderer.
Eventually, Jack sneaks into Katherine’s room where she punches him in the jaw, sobbing and unable to cope until Jack brings her into his arms and apologizes again and again, telling her everything.
Despite what happened, Katherine still loves him. Jack is upset and Katherine is upset. So they comfort each other, inevitably leading to sex.
The Jets discover that Hot Shot is on the loose, looking for Jack. While they’re all on the run having no idea where Jack is, they panic, going off to try and warn him.
Jack and Katherine lay together for half the day, Jack promising that he would go get all the money he had and they could run away to Santa Fe and never have another worry in the world. But then there’s a knock at the door and Jack scrambles to get to the window.
Riddle is distraught, trying to get to Katherine, wanting time to help her through this but when Katherine opens the door to her room, Riddle immediately knows what happened and she begs Katherine to break it off and find another boy who wasn’t a murderer and hadn’t killed someone they both loved.
When Snyder arrives, trying to question Katherine about her cousin’s murder, Riddle silently agrees to go warn Jack about Hot Shot who’s out for blood. Unfortunately, the Jets find Jack first and when Riddle tries to warn them, they believe she’s a spy sent by the Sharks and attempt to soak her. Kloppman barely stops them in time to save her.
Angry and terrified, Riddle delivers a lie, telling the boys to tell Jack that Hot Shot found out about Jack and Katherine and had killed Katherine for getting Spot stabbed.
Then she leaves.
The boys go out, hoping to find Hot Shot, and Kloppman delivers the wrong message to Jack who rushes out, screaming for Hot Shot to come finish the job. He can’t live anymore. Not with Race and Katherine both gone.
But as he’s screaming, Katherine comes running. Jack is relieved and rushes to kiss her.
But Hot Shot wasn’t far behind Katherine.
He shoots Jack just as his fingers brush up against Katherine’s.
He tells Katherine he loves her for the first time, beginning to get delirious, claiming his dead parents are beside him and Race is calling his name. Katherine begs him to stay, but he can’t.
He dies in her arms.
Katherine grabs the gun from Hot Shot’s hands and screams, demanding to know how many bullets are left. She holds the pistol up to her head, crying about how they’d all killed Spot and Race and Jack with hate and that now she had hate too and could do what she wanted.
But she can’t pull the trigger.
The Jets and the Sharks alike move together to carry Jack off, creating a procession.
The feud is over and Katherine is named an honorary member of both gangs.
They bury Jack, Race and Spot side by side, having a funeral for them all.
And Katherine continues to live, knowing Jack would want her to.

Discomforts, Pains and Irregularities Re-listen
Hello! I hope you're safe and well, wherever you are right now, and looking after yourself as best you can. It's a weird time to be alive, certainly. Fortunately, there is in this life one thing we can rely on: Douglas Eiffel will forever be a dumbass. I've hit episode 3 in my Wolf 359 re-listen, and boy, did this one cheer me up. So, without further ado:
Discomforts, Pains and Irregularities
In which Hilbert and Hera make a great but also terrifying team, Eiffel will do anything to avoid his physical exam, and Mink-oH MY GOD YOU WERE BEING SERIOUS?!
I feel, off the bat, like this episode is different to the previous two in a really good, productive way. It's a subtle thing, but it's something I definitely noticed this time round; Discomforts, Pains and Irregularities just works differently to the first two episodes. Where they were a sort of slice-of-life affair and a then a straight-up sitcom, this episode is more of a comedy horror movie; where the conflict in the first two episodes was between Eiffel and the rest of the crew, here we get our first external threat; where the plot, in the first two episodes, revolved around mundane, small things like radio broadcasts and toothpaste, the plot here's about a mutant space plant monster. It's a neat way of setting certain genre expectations and helping us triangulate, roughly, what we can and can't expect from the show, establishing a couple of constants (we're probably not going to get an episode, for example, with absolutely no comedy), but also a range of different tones the show can play with (sitcom, B-movie horror, weird sci-fi)
That said, it's not obvious from the beginning of the episode that we've stumbled into a horror movie. At first, when Eiffel starts his log sounding so very defeated, it seems like we're being set up for an episode about Eiffel trying to dodge a physical exam. Which you could get a whole, pretty decent episode out of it, for sure - it would probably end up following a very similar template to Little Revolución. Step 1: have Eiffel do something ridiculous. Step 2: escalate things. Step 3: Eiffel is defeated. Solid, right? So when Hera announced that physicals are coming up, it feels like there's a predictable way that this going to play out. Not bad, per se. But we can see where it might be going.
We do get the fun twist of Hera cooperating with Hilbert, and sounding surprisingly chipper about the whole affair. And I guess that makes sense? She doesn't have physical body in the same way as Eiffel and Minkowski do, after all, so she's not getting a physical, and I can totally see her making the most of it to troll Eiffel, or indulge in some Schadenfreude. Or perhaps she's just helping Hilbert because it’s her job. Who knows? Either way, it's nice, if a little bittersweet, to see Hera and Hilbert working as a team again and trusting each other; after season 1, we don't see so much of that, for obvious, murder-y reasons.
I also have to wonder, at this point, why Hilbert is running these physicals? He says it's to stop disease spreading, but surely the Hephaestus, a closed system with three actual people living there, has got to be disease-free, right? The only thing I can think is that this is actually part of his work on Eiffel, a convenient excuse to take samples and see how the Decima is doing. Which makes an already terrifying prospect even more frightening. I guess he also has to collect samples for Minkowski, to maintain his cover? Or - a more alarming thought that I kind of wish I hadn't had - he might also be taking measurements and samples in preparation for giving her Decima, should Eiffel go the way of Lambert and the last crew. Cheery stuff, you know?
That’s just me overthinking things, though. What we actually get, as the episode gets going, is a panicky, nervous Eiffel desperately bullshitting Hilbert to get the good doctor off his tail. Which is so very relatable. I feel you, Eiffel.
It didn't escape my attention, here, that Eiffel mentions a recent power outage. It's another sign that things were going wrong in the Hephaestus from the very beginning - something we won't get confirmed until Pan-Pan, I think?
It also didn't escape my attention, on a more immediate note, that Hilbert used up all of the water doing radiation experiments in the greenhouse. Which I bet is totally fine and totally didn't create the plant monster in the first place. Nope. Nuh-uh. No foreshadowing here.
In any case, Eiffel's ruse works, and then we get Eiffel and Hera just bantering for a bit, which is always a delight. Hera gets all sniffy (pun unintentional) about Eiffel's personal hygiene, Eiffel lobs a "you don't even have a nose anyway" back at her, she leans hard into her "well you're a feeble, puny human" shtick. It's fun, and I can totally buy that this might be a conversation they have had many times before. I don't know, I just really love their friendship, okay?
What I also love, when Minkowski calls to ask for help with the plant monster, is that Eiffel just straight-up assumes that she's also trying to get out of her physical. Like... has he met Minkowkski?! And yes, okay, technically she was in the greenhouses trying to avoid Hilbert. But the fact that now, when she is quite obviously not kidding, Eiffel decides to shrug it off? Genius. I love it. So very dumb.
Then, of course, we meet the plant monster, which is honestly one of my favourite things about this podcast. It's just so out-there! After two more slice-of-life episodes, it's delightfully weird, but also puts us firmly in the realm of soft science fiction. Like, there's no pretending, with a mutant plant monster, that this is going to be gritty, realistic, hard science fiction, and I kind of love that? Certainly, setting aside question like "is this scientifically plausible?" lets the show do all sorts of wacky, fun things that just make for a more engaging story. Mutant plant monsters are in the same cheesy B-movie vein as the Dear Listeners, super-soldier-creating viruses and mind control machines, and Wolf 359 is 100% better off for it.
Minkowski doesn't share my enthusiasm for the plant monster, sadly. She goes straight in with a flamethrower. Ah, Commander. Never change.
Eiffel still doesn't believe that it's real, even as he goes down to check on Minkowski, which is kind of hilarious, especially because it's such a tropey horror movie set-up. For such a pop-culture-savvy dude, he really dropped the ball on this one. But it's nice to see him and Minkowski bonding over being mutually freaked out by the thing. After two episodes of Minkowski being mad at Eiffel for various offences, it's cool that they're working together here, even if it takes the joint threat of Hilbert's physicals and a plant monster to get them there.
It's also here that the podcast format works so well, because without a visual on the monster, it's so much more frightening. Seriously, I bet all of our mental images of this thing are way more frightening than anything a TV show could give us, based just on Eiffel and Minkowski screaming.
Either way, we cut away pretty quickly after that, and the episode ends with Eiffel informing us smugly that the plant monster is still out there, but that, as a consequence of the ongoing monster situation, they have at least postponed physicals. It's a fun way to end the episode, anticlimactic in the funniest possible way, focusing on the dumb, mundane stuff and just dropping the plant mutant... for now. It leaves room for future stories featuring our resident not-so-horrifying monster (hello, Minkowski Commanding!). But honestly, it'd still be funny if the plant monster was never brought up again, and just hung round like the proverbial, vine-strewn elephant in the room. Which it kind of does, for a while, at least until Season 2.
It also works, I think, because this episode isn't really about how the crew would defeat a plant monster. Instead, the question the episode asks is just "How do the crew react when something really weird happens?" And the answer we get is something we'll see again and again: Minkowski goes on the warpath and tries to kill it with fire, while Eiffel is a bit more chill about things, possibly unwisely so. It feels like the blueprint for a whole lot of future disagreements where Minkowski generally leans towards more violent solutions, while Eiffel is a little more pacifistic, repping Team What's-Wrong-With-Handcuffs etc.
So yup. At the end of the day, like most of the early episodes, this one’s pretty heavy on the comedy. But it also establishes a bunch of new things that the show can do, and puts our protagonists into a totally new, strange situation, just to see how they react, paving the way for all sorts of future weirdness. Not bad, right?
Also, because it bears repeating, mutant space plant monster.
Miscellaneous thoughts:
Hera getting snarky about Eiffel's body odour bwahahahahahahaha
That noise is terrifying and will haunt my nightmares
Also, why did Eiffel record his physical six months ago? What could he possibly have been planning on doing with that recording??
"Tell him to go... ffffrequencies!"
Ewwwww spinal fluid samples
"Let's get this - oH MY GOD YOU WERE BEING SERIOUS"
"For God's sake, help me kill this thing!" "With what? Harsh language?" "With napalm, you moron!"

clean --- chapter one
chapter one - in the restaurant that Downey recommended
summary: Tom calls you and somehow convinces you to tell him everything
a/n: is this a 1400 word excuse for me to write a ton of dialogue and exposition? yeah pretty much
------
He only waited two days to text you, and he’d wanted to wait less than that. You on the other had weren’t even sure if he’d thought about texting you because he was a huge movie star and you are you. But when an unknown number flashed up on your screen you let out a small gasp at your desk.
Unknown Number: Hi. It’s Tom.
Unknown Number: Holland.
Unknown Number: I wanted to know if you wanted to maybe get lunch.
(Y/N): hmmm let me think about it
(Y/N): yeah sure.
(Y/N): I’m free in an hour, does that work?
Unknown Number: yeah that sounds great
(Y/N): let me know where
Tom freaking Holland: okay
An hour later you sat across from Tom Holland at a very nice restaurant in Downtown Atlanta. You peered through the menu absent mindedly, wondering what to say and what you were even doing there. “This place is really nice.” You said suddenly, not knowing what else to say.
“Yeah, Downey recommended it.”
“Oh my god.” You laughed, burying your head in your hands for a second.
“What?” He asked, a confused look on his face.
“The way you said that, you say that so casually like you didn’t ask me to come to a place that was recommended by Robert Downey Jr. Like that’s-that’s crazy.” She leaned back into her chair, “Does explain why it’s so nice though.”
The next thing you knew he was smiling at you. “That was a rollercoaster. I thought you were mad at me, and then-”
“A rollercoaster? Can’t say I’ve ever heard that one before.”
“I mean in a good way.” He said, “In the best way possible.”
“Uh-huh.” A pause, “So I’d ask you about yourself but I think I already know kind of everything.”
“That’s a little creepy.”
“I mean there are people who know more than me, of course but like I know the basic stuff you would want to know, what you do, why you like it, what your up to, how many brothers and sisters you have-perks of being a celebrity I guess.” You shrugged, “You get to skip all the small talk.”
“Correction: I get to skip the small talk.” He narrowed his eyes at you, “I still need to know all of that about you.”
“Darn it. And here I was thinking I’d successfully tricked you with all the disturbing personal information I know about you.”
“Not today.” He said as the waitress came over and dropped of your drinks and took your order. “I know what you do, and what your working on but lets-get-personal.”
“Oh yes let’s dive right into the part of all this that I dislike the most.”
“We all have to do things we dislike. Why do you want to do your job-go?”
“I like to take photos.” You leaned back into your chair and crossed her arms over her chest. He raised an eyebrow at you teasingly. “Okay fine. It’s kind of a long story.”
“That’s what we’re here for.” He replied.
“I started off at film school.”
“Now we’re getting somewhere.”
“I had this dream of being a director, and my parents were less than thrilled but they let me go. Then a year in I realized that I wasn’t as good as everyone else and when the other people in your class-mainly the boys find out that you want to be anything more than a sound designer, well anyways I kinda dropped out.”
“You dropping out?” He feigned surprise, “Wow I can’t believe-”
“Shut up!” You laughed, a little louder than you meant to. “You don’t know me.”
“Well I want to.”
“Fine, fine.” You continued with the story, “The last class I took before I dropped out- and it was you guessed it cinematography.”
“Now the pieces are coming together.”
“So I took a gap year and I went to Europe.”
“The plot thickens.”
“And I saw some things that made me think wow this would look great in a movie but I had just quit film school and I didn’t have a crew or anything. So I took some pictures, like a lot. Like I had to buy extra phone storage.” You remember standing in the middle of a field, enamored by all the beauty before you and just snapping a few photos of the whole thing.
“That’s where those came from.”
“You looked me up?” You asked him, surprised that he cared that much about you after only one meeting.
“Uh, just a little. I wanted to see some of your photos.” He replied.
“Well that’s creepy, let’s change the subject to that. What makes you think that internet stalking is okay Mr Holland?” You asked.
“Back up, you didn’t finish the story.”
“Fine fine but we will get back to the searching and the stalking. Anyways I took the pictures and I sold them, and they kinda went viral and I decided to do this photography thing full time. After I went back to school to make my parents happy. Major in Journalism minor in photography which I shouldn't have done cause it sucks.” You explained, “Journalism majors are mean, not as mean as guys in film school but still.”
“You say this as a journalism student.”
“Oh I’m not saying I’m not mean. I can be if needed, we’re also notorious gossips, early work experience I guess.” You realized that you had been talking for a long time and suddenly felt very self conscious. “I got off on a tangent there-that’s what happens when you ask me a question.”
“What you tell amazing stories? I won’t ask you anymore questions then, wouldn’t want to hear any cool stories about your almost life as a feature film director.” He said, smiling.
“Flattery will you get you nowhere with me.”
“Noted.”
“I’m kidding! Compliment me all you want.” The food was brought to the table and the two of you started to eat. You pretend to write something down in a notebook, “Extremely gullible.” You teased trying to emulate his accent, “Noted.”
“If I knew you were going to do was tease me I wouldn't have invited you.”
“Well I’m here now which means you are pretty unlucky.”
He smiled and you swore his eyes sparkled. “I’m actually pretty lucky.”
You looked down at the table and ate some of your mood for a moment, letting the feeling pass. “So now that I’ve spilled about my directing pipe dreams, tell me did you always know that you wanted to be an actor?”
“Oh no way. I wanted to be a firefighter when I was ten, but soon after that I realized my true calling.”
“Wow-I hate you.”
“What?”
“I’m serious your like everything that I hated when I started film school, so sure of yourself and what you want to do its terrible.” She paused, “Because I want that.”
“Well don’t you have it now?”
“Nah.” You took another bite of your food, “I’m happy but it still feel like something is missing.”
“Maybe it has nothing to do with your job.”
Before you could ask what he meant, you saw someone take a photo of the two of you out of the corner of your eye. You moved your head so you couldn't be seen and leaned into Tom, “I think we’ve been spotted.”
“Shoot.” He stood up, leaving money on the table. “Let’s get out of here.” He put on a pair of sunglasses, like that could stop anyone from noticing him, and the two of you slipped out of the restaurant and onto the street. “Sorry-that happens.” He sighed, not quite knowing where the situation was going next.
“Not everyday you get to pull a James Bond trying to escape from lunch.” You told him, “But speaking of which-” You turned so that you were facing him again, “-what are we doing here?”
“Right here? Well I mean we could go-”
“No-I mean, why did you invite me for lunch?”
“Because I wanted to get to know you better.”
“There’s got to be more to it than that.”
“What if there’s not?” He said but his eyes said, What if there is? “I think your journalism instincts are kicking in. You don’t have to deep dive on everything, (Y/N).”
“Fine, fine. Do your friends know your here?”
“No.”
“Castmates?”
“No.”
“Family members?”
“No.”
You nodded, “Okay.”
“Does that tell you what your doing here?”
“Not really but it tells me what we can do.” You replied.
“Which is?” He asked, with a smile.
“Anything.”

For young men (Part 1)
In my latest lockdown induced depressive episode I have been meeting some new people online. They are all young, male, mostly heterosexual, very nice and extremely considerate. However, they also are often afraid becoming a burden, insecure in their appearance or social skills, and often struggling with mental health. Given this, they are also usually extremely afraid of never finding themselves having sex or getting into a meaningful relationship in the late stage neoliberal capitalist dystopia we find ourselves in. To be honest I didn’t understand them at first, especially their obsession with sex. But the more I am thinking about it, the more I realize that we are united in the same dynamic of seeing sex or love as magic verfication of... What?
Growing up, I used hookups as a way to prove to myself that I am worth something. I thought that my value was defined by men’s desire. I originally in writing this wanted to show my perspective from the other side of the same coin, but after realizing how much of an undertaking that would be, I decided to start with the two most common answers from men used as justification to why they think they won’t get laid. These are things I find will help these kinds of people out, but as a great thinker once said...
“I can’t mom you through this one, boys. You are on your own.” - Contrapoints
(I link songs I like through out btw, the underlined text are links you can click on)
Foreword: Social factors
The average age of first intercourse has been rising in the US. Teenagers have less sex than ever before. These changes will affect you. In teen movies and shows charakters often experiment with sexuality before the age of 18. Everything else is played as an abnormality. If we compare ourselves to this misrepresentation of teenage sexuality, of course we seem like the losers.
“The proportion of young people who have had sexual intercourse increases rapidly as they age through adolescence”. It’s very likely, at least from my view, that you are just going to grow out of the awkward zone of wanting intimacy but not getting it. Just like you grew out of other things, such as bad musical taste or that one gaudy outfit. Don’t stress over this one specifically either.
Adolescence is weird for all of us. Even if your first encounter is after college, let’s be real here: having such a good thing in your own place without your parents looming or having to share your room with a roommate you barely know is so much better anyway.
The Ugly fuck too
A common answer to my question why they think that they will never have sex is that they are “unattractive”. The implication being, that sex is the prize for looking a certain way.
But is it? We are so used to the perfect, porn-ready bodies in the media that we forget that the Ugly fuck too. We never see the foldes of fat and skin, never see acne warriors or moles, never see people who actually look like us.
In the movie “The Parasite”, there is a scene where the husband of Gook Moon-gwang, the former housekeeper, is implied to have sex. (the clip, starts at 3:00) It gave me weird feelings of discomfort, as the illusion so stereotypically found on the silver screen was not present. These two characters are not pretty. They look old. She is fat and he is a balding skeleton. They are not special, and that’s okay.
Being fuckable does not equal beauty. Being fuckable does not equal beauty. It was a terrifying thought initially for someone like me who defined their value over beauty & their beauty as being fuckable. It might also be a scary thought for someone who doesn’t think that they deserve love and intimacy because of their looks. I promise you that you still deserve love! Sex did not cure my problems with my appearance, or the fact that I based my self-esteem on the way I look. It will not make you feel normal. It will not make you feel better, prove your worth or even give you more self esteem in the long term beyond the initial rush of dopamine. It is not a caravan to fulfillment.
Beauty is a concept that is based on exclusion. Allow yourself to feel the pain of being excluded, of not reaching the impossible beauty standards and the disadvantages that come with it. Allow yourself to feel the fear of not being “man enough” and be happy in spite of it.
“Patriarchal masculinity teaches us to control our pain, but it can block us from experiencing the grief that is part of a full life. Chasing pleasure and controlling pain is patriarchal. Opening ourselves up to joy and grief is to be fully human.”
”Those of us in that skinny nerd category are especially prone to thinking that we aren’t “man enough.” [..] But the more I talked to men, the more convinced I became that almost all men at some point in their lives don’t feel man enough. Even the men I thought were the “real men” were scared.
That’s not surprising. Masculinity in patriarchy—that is, masculinity in a system of institutionalized male dominance—trains men to be competitive, in pursuit of conquest, which leads to routine confrontation, with the goal of always being in control of oneself and others. But no matter how intensely competitive one is, no matter how complete the conquest, no matter how many successful confrontations, and no matter how much one stays in control—men are haunted by the fear that they aren’t man enough, that they can never stop proving their masculinity.” - Robert Jensen
Stop comparing your appearance to other men’s. Start talking and bonding with them over your undoubtably shared insecurities rooted in society’s relentless toxic masculinity. Unlearning the things you’ve been indoctrinated into since conception is damn hard. I am still in the middle of it personally, but I promise you it is worth it. It will improve not only your relationships with other men, but also with yourself and that one girl you’re pining after.
There are a ton of resources targeted at women about self acceptance, but not many for men. Robert Jenson comes from a tradition of critical men’s groups. Even though I don’t agree with him on everything, he manages to scare most men (especially the kind I mentioned in the first paragraph) to their core, but also improves their lives drastically with his kindness and radical ideas. I implore you to look him up, and try your best to keep an open mind.
“A person who functions normally in a sick society is themselve sick.”
The other most common answer to the initial question was “being socially maladjusted”, implying that sex is something you earn by behaving a certain way. It is ingrained in the way we talk about love. “Deserving love” is the best example. Neither love nor sex is a product of work. Love and intimacy are a lot like sleep. It is a slow but unconscious process. You slowly work into it, with no idea of what comes next, and then, after an agonizingly long moment, you’re there. The fall is not often expected or easy, is always exhilarating, but never the product of conformity to anything except comfort with who you are.
I do acknowledge that social settings can be weird, existentially unsettling, and full of unseen complexities. This is especially true if you are neurodivergent and / or struggling with mental health. Being neurodivergent or struggling with mental health goes against the impossible, hegemonically masculine standard of always being in controll. It’s a common cause behind feelings of emasculation. Disregard that feeling, and remember that you deserve love, no matter how manly you are or are not, no matter how you behave.
Learning social settings are lot like learning to skate. In the beginning you will be covered in bruises, but with enough effort, you will be better at it. The chance of mistakes will get lower, but never zero. You will always have awkward situations, but that doesn’t mean that you are bad at them. It just means that you have room to improve still. Maybe consider getting lessons or joining a skate crew.
We tend to hyperfocus on the accidents. Think about how many nice conversations you had over the internet, text or otherwise. I ask you to value them. Value these positive experiences, value your friendships and acquaintances, value the people supporting you, online and offline. We tend to hyperfocus on meaningfull longterm friendships, just like we hyperfocus on love. Value your social enviroment, value someone who just made you feel ok for a moment. You are socially adapted, because you have a social enviroment you feel comfortable in, where you have relationships with people. The depth of a relationship is not messured by time, nor by physical touch. Being mindful of your feelings for the people around you can make you realize that you are less alone than you thought.
Some Tips
If you want to make friends additionally to that, here are some tips from someone, who is bad at social clues:
Join a group with a common interest or struggle: Book clubs, activist groups, selfhelp groups, they are great settings to meet new people and you already have a topic to talk about :)
If you feel save about it: Being open about your issues can help other people adapt to you and understand you better - especially in early on in relationships.
People sitting at the bar or smoking outside are generally more open for conversation
Don’t be afraid of getting rejected: They don’t reject you, when they reject a conversation with you. The reasons people don’t want to talk to you is very diverse. Stay respectful and polite.
Don’t expect to much: No one owes you a long conversation. A smalltalk is perfectly fine.
Learn to make compliments casually and learn to compliments that aren’t based on appearance.
Find a common ground (politically, a interest ect.) and talk about it
Take a improv class, seriously TAKE A IMPROV CLASS! (there are online ones, and sometimes it’s even free)
Here are some youtube videos by Anna Akana with more tips. (1) conversations, (2) how to be a better friend, (3) overthinking
Here are is a piece about being bad at relationship I liked.
Footnote: Trophies and muses
“We do not want to do the work of helping you to believe in your humanity. We cannot do it anymore. We have always tried. We have been repaid with systematic exploitation and systematic abuse. You are going to have to do this yourselves from now on and you know it.” - Andrea Dowkin
Behind the whole obsession with sex is often a distorted perception of women. Just remind yourself that women are human? Access to female bodies is not a human right. We are not trophies to push your ego. We are not there to inspire you or heal you. We are humans with agency. We desire love and being loved, just like everyone else.
I am tired, but I believe in your humanity...

Ending & Thoughts: Death by Zero
Oh wooow. This was a wild ride and I’m so glad I watched this. First, it was a fresh concept as it surrounds assassins. And no, it’s not like “The Man Who Kills Trouble” where it’s just one person and they try to convince us how Carson wasn’t a cold blooded killer and that he just helps people “solve” their problems. This really takes place in a world with assassins where they have an agent to accept killing jobs and a clean up crew that cleans the area and body of evidence. Like how fun is that? It’s such a fresh and hilarious concept.
I really like how both leads in Yim Mou & Kiu Sing lead different stories. They weren’t best friends and only got involved with each other when needed. Also like how Nana and Kiu Sing never got together and were just basically friends. He even helped her to overcome her dislike for guys and persuaded her to move on from her past lover. Not all relationships end up together and he was a better fit with Suk Haan. Also glad Charlie did not die. Probably the first character to break out of the “best friends must die” for revenge trope. Despite Yim Mou & Kiu Sing both were former assassins they lead vastly different lives. From beginning to end. Yim Mou had a more tragic story while Kiu Sing was more lighthearted in a sense.
Yim Mou was a cocky jerk that was a top killer. Unfortunately, his wife and daughter suffered from his actions. He was an extreme playboy and had no care for them. Of course later on after his wife died in the fire and his daughter turns blind, he tries to turn his life around. His ending made the most sense. At first I was sad that he died and I really thought he didn’t. But it made sense. He has a heart problem and his daughter was dying. This was his way of paying back to her daughter. So he sacrificed himself to give his eyes and organ to his daughter. Yim Mou had done so much wrong things in the past, his death was fitting. I only wish he got a chance to say his last words to Suk Haan and Megan. Even his last words in the form of a letter would be a nice farewell.
Kiu Sing also known as Zero, was a Casanova who flirted around but never had a real relationship until he meets Cash. Yes, he’s an assassin but what makes him different from Yim Mou is that he’s isolated. And minds his own business. His only friend is his agent that accepts him jobs. Compared to Yim Mou who gambled, drank and neglected so many people. Kiu Sing doesn’t cause trouble but if trouble finds him, he won’t back down. Kiu Sing had a much happier ending in faking his death while living happily together with Cash & effectively retiring from the assassin life.
Now the biggest plot twist was Parker ending up becoming the ultimate “baddie”. He went from a scared coward to someone so dark and evil. He murdered innocent people for his own pleasure. At first it was just to get someone off his back but then he just started murdering or attempted to murder random people. His ending was not fulfilling at all. I don’t get why he kidnapped Cash. At first you’d think “oh it’s to blackmail Kiu Sing” well he didn’t. He kidnapped her roughed her up a bit and then tried to drown her. Like what was the point? You just made him even more mad that you kidnapped his girlfriend. Also he felt that they were suspecting him. That’s why he organized to have Megan stay somewhere else. Why didn’t he just take the first flight out with Megan in the first place? Parker was not a fighter. He relies on strategic plans like “sneak attacks” via attacking from behind and knocking them out. Which he then proceeds to kidnapping, tying them up and then murdering. One thing I didn’t get was how he managed to kill Maan Maan. He has no training in fighting. I get how he strangled Maan Maan to death but what about the guard that was watching her? The guard was strong! How could Parker take him down alone? I thought maybe he was secretly trained and was faking it the whole time but that wasn’t the case. He didn’t hire someone to help him with the murder either. So you want me to believe Parker singlehandedly took down that guard alone? Also this was the first of his serial killing spree so it wasn’t like he had experience. His death would’ve been better if he saw the aftermath of Megan getting shot and almost dying. The only thing he loves is Megan. So it would’ve been nice to see the fear in his eyes for him to realize he caused all of this. It’s nice to know that Parker does love Megan and wasn’t just playing around.
Also WTF MEGAN. Why are you so annoyingly written? Like you hate your Father for killing (and other valid reasons), you hate him for trying to get revenge. Yet when your boy toy is killing people left and right & hurting people. You’re just like “okay I’ll escape” with you. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU. I guess love is blind. When you were held against your will with Cash and she saves you & then tries to escape with you. Why couldn’t you keep your mouth shut? Your serial killer husband is out for blood and here you are telling him where you’re hiding & effectively setting up Cash for her potential death due to your idiocy. Like dude. If you were gonna be like that & choose him, you could’ve gone for 2 different options. 1, you don’t escape with Cash & just chill with your murderous husband. Or 2, wait for Cash to hide somewhere else being announcing “hey husband I’m hiding over here”. Seriously if Cash has died it would solely be on you. ATLEAST Parker is a deranged killer but you? You know better. And then they go through this whole push and pull game of staying together or not. Anyways in the end both Megan & Parker gets shot by Zero. Parker dies, and Megan lives. Megan also forgets her memory. Which is a good thing I suppose. She had a sad childhood and the love of her life became someone she hated. He also died in front of her eyes. This was the best ending for her.
Another part that annoyed me was Maan Maan. Now for her story she basically had a Father that killed his best friends for money and tried to pin it on Zero. He killed them and then left, got plastic surgery and took over another mans identity for fame and fortune. Because of this he also left behind his wife and daughter. Maan Maan is ecstatic once she finds out her Father is alive. And when she meets him she’s excited to bond with him. Ummmm what? Did she forget the part where HE LEFT YOU AND YOUR MOTHER BEHIND? He left you behind all these years and you’re not mad? He ditched you for money. Anyways her Father dies as Zero kills him as an act of revenge. Maan Maan hates Zero for this. And blames him for the misery in her life. Despite the fact her Father caused a lot of unnecessary deaths and pains to people. Maan Maan knows that too but for some reason decides to turn to drugs to cope with pain. Cause why not? I get that her Father was her only family left but he committed so many crimes, killed so many innocents and planned on killing you. This is what pushed herself to change herself in such a way? She was so innocent & kind it was a 180 degree spin from what she was before. I hate how she didn’t get last words when she died. And I hate how she died never understanding that Zero truly was sorry & wanted to make it up to you in some way. Also why was Kaman casted in such a small role? A random background person could’ve played this. Her character had like a maximum of 2 hour screentime out of the 30 episode drama.
Sam Sam disappointed me a bit. I don’t know why but I had high expectations for this character. This character was just very “cool” and mysterious that I thought there would be more to it. But there wasn’t. She’s just part of the clean up crew. I had thought maybe she’s a hidden assassin or turns evil in the end due to jealousy or something. She and Cash has both fallen for Zero. But she liked Zero first and Cash was aware of it. Cash also dates Zero behind her back secretly. It would’ve been interesting to see maybe her turn dark from this? Cause in the end Cash did betray her. But nope she was just the best friend from beginning to end. I guess all wasn’t generic. It was a nice womanly friendship that stayed strong.
Overall it was a great drama. The different storylines were interesting and engaging. I was very happily surprised. Moses Chan was so suave. Wayne Lai was hilarious. Katy Kung was eyecatching but honestly her character was more filler than anything. Brian Tse was so chilling. And Elena Kong was so sweet. The characters were fun to watch and very memorable. I wouldn’t want a sequel. It’s just the ending was perfect to me and resolved very well. It was really intriguing to watch. The fighting was amazingly choreographed and the actors & actresses were picked perfectly! It’s not a drama where you have feel the need to binge watch but I definitely recommend this. One of the better tvb dramas in recent years!
Brutally Young and Death By Zero are my top dramas this year so far.

This post is full of GoT 8x04 spoilers and GIFs!
*I’ve been working on this for two days
Initially, I thought I would write a long, drawn out post about the episode as a whole. There is a lot to discuss and I have lots of feelings about it all. I decided against it because though I am fond of most of the characters on this show, there is one, in particular, that has my heart, and I do believe I will love them for the rest of my life.
Ser Brienne of Tarth. In this potentially long, rambling post, I will discuss what she endured in this episode, and how it relates to things she’s endured in the past and how said things will affect her future. There will be heavy mentions of Ser Jaime Lannister and Braime. (Yes, I ship it, no I don’t hate him). Any GIFs used in this post are not mine, and neither are the characters because if they were, I would treat them so much better.
This episode for me, a Brienne stan, was both beautiful and heartbreaking. There were so many layers to it. Gwendoline did an immaculate job really taking us on this emotional roller coaster, and making us feel Brienne in a way we haven’t in the past. I want to talk about my experience watching the episode as a fan, and then my second watch as a writer, and as someone who has studied film and tv collegiately for six years.
Let’s start with the fact that Brienne of Tarth, First of Her Name, Keeper of Oaths, Defeater of The Hound, Protector of the Stark Daughters, Wielder of Oathkeeper, and Knight of the Seven Kingdoms survived the Great War! Not going to lie, I was very concerned for my Amazonian Warrior, but she prevailed.
We have never seen Brienne as carefree and relaxed as we saw her this episode. Her guard was down, she was enjoying herself, drinking and bonding, celebrating life because she faced death and survived. Not only did she live, but her crew survived alongside her. I must say, I enjoy tipsy Brienne. I truly do.
It was beautiful to watch, truly. Her enthusiasm was so open and free. I was hype AF because: look at Brienne, living her best life just being chill! Ugh! I was teary-eyed. The bonding that occurred was beautiful. Podrick looked amused the entire time. Tyrion watched Jaime stare at Brienne with this knowing look on his face. The entire feast scene was just...*le sigh*
I would be remiss to ignore that it was Ser Jaime, the idiot, who helped pull her out of her shell, and that says a lot. The comfort level here, the heart eyes, the whole thing. He basically tells her it’s all right to just let loose.
Let’s discuss the drinking game, shall we?
Jaime: Um.... You are an only child.
Brienne: *pause with a smirk* I told you I was.
Jaime: You didn’t.
Brienne: I did!
Jaime: I surmised it.
Tyrion: Drink! .....Go again.
Brienne: Why does he get to go again?
Tyrion: Because it’s my game.
Jaime: You have danced with Renly Baratheon
Brienne: *looks at Podrick*
Podrick: *smiles drunkenly*
Tyrion: Drink!
Gah! How dare they flirt so openly, just blatant about it! He said these things confidently. He knew he was right and he was so happy that she was playing along. My poor shipper heart was soaring. Then Tyrion had to go and be...well Tyrion. Stating Brienne was a virgin was a shock to my system. Like...yes asshole we know this but we don’t bring attention to it. She completely closed up and I was like “dammit, Tyrion!” Though I understand that he was trying to push along the inevitable but look here sir, subtly is nice dammit!! Ser Brienne of Tarth was NOT here for this bullshit.
“I have to piss” will forever be what I say from this day forward when I don’t want to answer some shit. The look in her eyes, even though she was uncomfortable, says a lot. So many things and Jaime knew exactly what needed to be done. He’s watched her leave multiple times. She’s left him riding a horse, she’s walked out of his tent, she was in a rowboat, on foot in the snow.... He finally decided he wasn’t going to do it anymore....with a little help from Tyrion. Let’s be honest, Tyrion knew what was going on back in 8x02 when Jaime was staring lovingly at Brienne, and then before the knighting scene when Jaime very nearly jumped from his chair to greet her. But I digress....
Let me just say this moment had me cackling. Tormund just knew he was going to follow the big woman and they were going to celebrate life together. And here comes Ser Jaime, throwing a golden hand in his plans. Jaime tapping Tormund twice before going off to follow Brienne with his little ‘nice try’ squint. It was so, just, I have no words. We see a little of jealous Jaime here. There has been the back and forth but we all know Tormund doesn’t stand a chance, it’s in this moment when Tormund realizes that he has lost.
Tyrion pouring his wine into Tormund’s horn while holding eye contact the entire time was another nail in the coffin. Poor guy. He just wanted to make giant babies with Brienne. Pod’s drunken smile was just amusing as hell. He was like my parents ‘Ser Jaime and Ser Brienne are finally going to consummate their 5-year relationship’. This entire sequence was absolutely hysterical. Also, the fact that Brienne had no idea of what happens between Tormund and Jaime. When she turns all she sees is Jaime in pursuit and she lengthens her stride because it’s just a bit much for her. I think she knew here, what was bound to happen and I think it scared her a little.
When I saw Oathkeeper I knew it was about to go down. I thought I was prepared but I was not. So let’s hop into this:
Brienne is tending to her fire. No longer is she in leathers. Just her undershirt and pants. Sometimes I forget how gloriously tall she is. There is a knock at the door and though she hesitates for a moment she opens it, without asking who it is. Is that a thing you do in Winterfell? Open your door late at night in your undershirt without inquiring who is on the other side?
Can we talk about Jaime’s exhale? He’s like,” welp we’re here now. I knocked. She answered. No turning back.” It’s all there on his face. How long did it take him to gather up the courage to knock? She’s no longer in her leathers. She had time to remove them. Set them aside and tend to the fire. How long was Jaime giving himself a pep talk? Trying to figure out how he was going to do approach her, approach them and the next step in their very complicated relationship.
She isn’t surprised to see him. She doesn’t ask why he’s there she just opens the door and holds his eye, waiting. Had she been waiting? She saw him when he was coming after her. She knew he was following her. Could that be why his presence didn’t surprise her? I’m going to say yes.
J: You didn’t drink.
B: *confused* I didn’t drink?
J: In the game.
B: *More confused* I drank.
J: *adamantly* In the game! ....this is Dornish
B:This is not the game. This is only drinking.
J:Suit Yourself.
B: *drinks*
J: You keep it warm enough in here.
B: *shy and a bit reserved* It’s the first thing I learnt when I came to the North. Keep your fire going. Every time you leave the room, put more wood on.
J: *assholely* That’s very diligent. Very responisble.
B: *sick of his shit* Piss off.
J: You know the first thing I learn in the North? I hate the fucking North.
B: *amused* It grows on you.
J: I don’t want things growing on me
I couldn’t find GIFs of this moment, I know they are out there, I was just impatient and didn’t want to scroll through the different tags to find them. So we start this scene with Jaime seeming a little drunk and insistent on Brienne drinking to prove something he already knows and she knows that he already knows. To Brienne’s credit, she deals with his weird approach to the elephant in the room quite well. It’s very honest to who they’ve been since they met each other. The banter is genuine, Jaime being an asshole, Brienne being sick of his shit, it’s perfect.
B: *amused* It grows on you.
J: I don’t want things growing on me
I thought it was very obvious that when Brienne says this, with a little twinkle in her eye and a smirk that she means him. Or maybe I’m overthinking it..... As for Ser Jaime....IT’S TOO FUCKING LATE, SHE’S ALREADY GROWN ON YOU! He’s such an asshole. I swear.
Brienne’s ‘bitch please’ look in the second GIF has me weak. Jaime knew damn well that Brienne did not want Tormund. SN: I don’t dislike Tormund, I think he’s great. Not only is she mildly annoyed that he asked her that, but she also calls him on his shit! That was a pretty ballsy thing for her to do. There was no guarantee that Jaime was going to respond favorably. It could have been a moment of embarrassing rejection, but she did it anyway. She’s experienced men being horrible to her in the past, but she trusts him. She also knew that she was right. It doesn’t matter that she’s inexperienced. And it wasn’t an accusation just a statement of very obvious fact. She doesn’t raise her voice, it’s barely above a whisper. She almost loses her nerve at the end. Although she trusts him, there is some trepidation there. He’s known to insult her, though they’ve become less acidic as time has gone on.
Jaime agreeing with her is interesting because he almost seems surprised by his jealousy. As if he honestly didn’t know it was there, but he sees no point in denying it once it’s out in the open. He almost makes light of it. He’s cared for her for years. He armed her. Armoured her. Saved her. (multiple times). He loves her, and maybe at that moment, it hits him that he can’t hide it or run from it.
It’s bloody hot in here.
Jaime is by far the worst flirt in Westeros. ‘It’s bloody hot in here.” Really? It’s almost like things were getting too real. He had to lighten the mood and make it, easy, simple. Brienne’s confusion as he fiddles with the knot on his shirt is so precious and endearing. You can see the wheels in her head just turning. She’s running through scenarios, she’s planning, she’s trying to decide where this will go. What should happen when she makes the decision, she takes a page out of Jaime’s book. It’s not tender or sweet, but it’s very them. It’s reminiscent of her stabbing his ham so that he could cut it back in season 3. This moment is very powerful. It’s the first step towards her deciding this is what she wants, though she’s very matter-of-fact about it. Jaime’s intentions were relatively clear upon his arrival, but this is the beginning of Brienne deciding that she wants to do this. That she wants to give herself to this man.
Can we just take a damn minute and admire this tenderness!! This is in direct contrast with her shoving his hand away. She’s very stoic, almost business-like as she goes about untying his shirt, but when Jaime reaches for the knot on her shirt, real smooth Jaime, everything stops. It’s sweet the way she holds his fingers as they stare into each other’s eyes. As she makes the final discussion.
I’m so in love with the fact that they are topless before anything happens. And kudos to Jaime for keeping his eyes on Brienne’s face for the most part. Unlike the bath scene in season 3. SN: WHERE IS BRIENNE’S SCAR?!?!?!?
Jaime ‘I’m a Dork’ Lannister, you’ve never been with anyone that isn’t Cersi before. What are you talking about?!?! I can’t lie, I thought it was cute. Fuck it, I thought it was adorable. And Brienne’s honesty here was so refreshing. I really appreciated the honesty from both of them in that moment. There are nerves swarming all around them, but they trust each other. It’s a big deal that they are doing this for both of them. Jaime has never experienced a non-toxic sexual experience. All of the times we see twincest, it’s aggressive and awkward, it’s fast and hard. There are no gentle caresses or loving looks and it’s usually forced consent.
For Brienne, she has never allowed herself to be in any scenario remotely close to that moment. This is a woman who slept in armour to protect herself. This is a woman who was ridiculed by multiple men, who was constantly called ugly, who was deemed undesirable. She was pretty much stripped of her femininity, and she fell hard into her role as a fighter, a warrior. But then Jaime came along. And he is handsome and highborn, and he loves her. He wants her.
I think this was the perfect first kiss for Ser Brienne and Ser Jaime. Please @ me! It’s honest. It’s awkward. It’s sweet. His eyes are open initially, he wants to see her. HE HAS TO GO UP ON HIS TIPPY TOES TO KISS HER! It’s so fucking cute. She’s supposed to be overexcited. This has never happened to her before, and she doesn’t know what she’s doing, but she wants it. And she came to terms with that fact. It’s perfect for them as a pairing. They’re like teenagers, fumbling around trying to figure what feels good. It’s sweet and innocent and wonderful.
I love Jaime’s hand on her neck then her hair. It’s simple but it’s grounding them in the moment. There is a push and pull happening that mirrors their relationship. Jaime initiates the kiss and it takes Brienne by surprise. She stumbles a little but she’s not one to be outdone so she pushes back. And it’s not perfect but it’s honest and pure. Dammit I love them.
I love the quiet moment of Jaime watching Brienne sleep. He looks pensive. His mind is working overtime. This is a big deal to him. This honorable woman gifted him with her womanhood. She trusted him. HIM. Of all people. He who is far from perfect. Brienne is too pure for this world, but she loves him and wants him. He can’t believe it.
I don’t have a ton to say about this, but Sansa knows, and I think that’s interesting. I want to know how much time has passed. How long has it been since OathSex? Brienne is so bashful and it’s so fucking cute. It’s ok Brienne, there’s nothing wrong with what you did!
Tyrion is such a dirty old man. I love how the relationship between Tyrion and Jaime has grown. They love each other so much, and it’s so obvious. It made me so happy to see their bond survive Tyrion killing their father. I love Tyrion for not bring up Cersei when he finds out. He does what is expected, he cracks a joke. It’s very telling that Jaime did not want to discuss Brienne with his brother. Yes, he loves Tyrion but Brienne is off limits.
So, going into the final three Braime scenes, I’m going to switch gears and really delve into what is happening without fangirling.
Jaime finding out that Cersei ambushed Daenarys burst the bubble he’d been in with Brienne. It started with Bronn showing up with a crossbow, telling the Lannister brothers that Cersi wants them dead. He knew that Cersei was displeased with him leaving but I think he was genuinely surprised that she sent someone to kill him. That weighs heavy on him because if there is a price on his head, then that puts Brienne in danger. And he would never be able to forgive himself if something happened to her because of him. When he learns about the ambush, I truly believe that is when the decision was made.
He doesn’t want to leave. He’s hoping that she doesn’t wake up, and I’m of the belief that they made love before that night. He doesn’t want to have to say goodbye to her. It’s selfish and infuriating, but he doesn’t know if he’s strong enough to say goodbye, and that becomes blatantly obvious when Brienne comes outside.
He doesn’t look at her. Not because he doesn’t love her. Not because he doesn’t respect her. Because he can’t. He can’t look at her. Looking at her means looking at the woman he loves and seeing what his departure is doing to her.
B: They’re going to destroy that city. You know they will.
J: Have you ever run away from a fight.
I think it’s worth it to mention that he doesn’t mention Cersei. He asks “have you ever run away from a fight?” It’s easy for this to get lost in this horrendously heartbreaking moment, but it starts with him acknowledging that there is a fight that he needs to be a part of. He’s also showing how highly he thinks of her. She doesn’t run away from fights. He feels like a coward, hiding out in King’s Landing. But deeper than that, he feels compelled by honor.
There is so much happening in this moment. Jaime was not prepared for the intimacy of it. Brienne grabs his face, and makes him look at her, and he is putty for a moment. There are so many emotions on his face as she tells him that he’s not like his sister, and that he’s a good man, and that he should stay with her. He aspires to be as honorable as she is. She has validated him on multiple occasions, and every time he is in awe and this moment is no different. His eyes shine with tears, he does not want to do it. It pains him to hear her like this. He’s never had to hurt her and you can see that her outpour of emotions really affect him. Her insecurities surface and she believes he’s leaving her to go back to Cersei. He uses it.
This is not a man that wants to leave a woman. His subtle nod as she tells him he’s a good man and asks him to stay. Jaime has always been nonverbally expressive. He strokes her hand gentle, savoring the feel of her before he has to break her heart.
You think I’m a good man? I pushed a boy out a tower window, crippled him for life for Cersei. I strangled my cousin with my own hands, just to get back to Cersei. I would have murdered every man, woman and child in Riverrun for Cersei.
*painful eye contact*
She’s hateful and so am I
It’s so telling that he mentions Riverrun. He says he would have killed every man, woman and child for Cersei, but he leaves out when he didn’t. He neglects to mention that Brienne showing up in the middle of his camp during a siege changed everything. He was surprised to see her, but he is also pleased to see her. If we’re being honest he’s always pleased to see her. But her arrival really made him change his intentions.
Riverrun was the first time that he went against Cersei for Brienne. It’s when he, in his own way, tells her he loves her.
It’s where he lets her go when he had every right to apprehend her. It’s where he puts Brienne above politics. It’s where Cersei starts to lose him. It’s subtle, but in letting Brienne attempt to gain forces/troops for Sansa, who would in turn attempt to take Winterfell back from the Boltons, which was given to them by Walder Frey who was a bannerman for the Lannisters. It’s when he, unbeknownst to himself maybe, chooses Brienne over his family. It’s there that it’s clear what he feels for her and what she feels for him.
It’s because of all of this, that Brienne’s emotions erupt at the mention of Riverrun. She knows what happened there and what could’ve happened there. She knows she stopped hundreds of men from being slaughtered needlessly. She knows.
There is so much self-loathing rolling off of Jaime in waves. He’s struggling with feeling like he’s not enough. He doesn’t think he deserves her, but he wants her. But he has to finish it. It must be him.
She can’t stop him. He’s going to King’s Landing and he’s going to try and stop Cersei. He’s going to do it because he didn’t do it years ago. He’s going because he did push a boy from a tower window. Because he did strangle his own cousin. He’s going because the one time he stood up to her was because of the woman standing in front of him. And he knows Ser Brienne of Tarth will not be safe as long as Cersei has power. He can’t stay. He can’t stay because the moments of happiness that they have are fleeting. Daeny has lost half her army and another dragon. The scales are not balanced and he can’t sit back and wait.
Have you ever run from a fight?
He’s going to fight for what important to him now and he doesn’t know if he’ll be successful but he knows he has to try.
Brienne showed such strength. She has allowed herself to be open and vulnerable. She’s allowed Jaime into her life, she gave herself to him, she loves him and he’s going off on a suicide mission. She doesn’t want him to leave. She’s scared for him. If Cersei’s army can kill a dragon what will happen to Jaime? It was so incredibly brave for her to even go and pursue him. She’s fought a bear, she fought the Hound, she fought the army of the undead, but this is a fight she isn’t equipped to fight. She’s watched one man that she loves die and it nearly broke her. She would never forgive herself if something happens to Jaime.
This scene was comprised of two people who love each other showing each other how deep that love runs. Sacrificing theif life (Jaime) and Pride (Brienne) in order to protect the other. I honestly think the message was received on both ends.
This is a man that loves a woman and he’s going to fight for that love and for that woman.
I have no insight into what D&D are doing but I can only hope that they didn’t take Jaime on such a beautiful character arc to throw it away. I hope that they will not perpetuate the “hot guys sleeps with not hot girl” trope. I hope that we as viewers aren’t going to fall victim to character assassination and lazy writing. More than anything, I hope Brienne and Jaime meet again so she can punch him in the face and then help off the ground once he falls. (much like Yara did Theon)

Do-it-yourself Tips: Ways to Increase the Associated with Your Home
Reasons for A Remodel
Home improvement projects often start out with someone saying, "Wouldn't the idea be nice if...? inches usually followed by a want a remodelled kitchen or even a room addition for room to accommodate every family member's needs. More often than not, reality as well as dreams don't coincide, as a result of limited funds for knowing the dream, or restrictions on the available space. The key: turning your dreams directly into reality. Begin with a realistic analysis of your needs. Homeowners typically consider home improvements for starters of the following reasons. decluttering
You could feel the need to update a thing that is out-of-date. If your home colour scheme was perfect a couple of decades ago but will no longer works, now may fun to update it.
Several home improvement projects grow away from an immediate need to replace busted or inefficient fixtures. If the sink, tub, or bathroom needs to be replaced, consider enjoying the opportunity to do a makeover around the entire bathroom.
If you're getting ready to sell your home, you'll want to be sure you get top dollar from the selling. That's great motivation for many home improvement projects.
You have decided that will staying put and enhancing your home is a better alternative than moving.
Your family is continuing to grow and you need more space.
Increasing to Move? or Improving to keep?
Evaluate your plans cautiously if you're improving your home to be able to list it for sale. Cutting sides may hurt your leads rather than helping them. Yet don't go overboard either. Would-be may prefer not to purchase some of the extras, such as a spa tub or pool. You're best keeping the changes simple.
And don't forget that buyers who look at your home may not share your current tastes and may not prefer the care you took to locate just the right shade of environmentally friendly paint for the walls.
You will discover that improving to sell is easier if you possibly can think about it from the prospective shopper's point of view: What is important to the household buyer? Here are a few remodelling jobs buyers are likely to find beneficial:
Adding or remodelling bathing
Improving the kitchen
Adding a fresh room
Landscaping
Adding any bedroom
Adding or attaching a garage.
If you're renovating because you want to stay in your property, you should still avoid over-improving it. You'll probably want to this someday, and even if your residence is the best on the block, it may be hard to convince potential buyers to pay for those things you considered important. Considering making improvements, keep in mind the significance of other homes in the area. Your current home's value should not be greater than 20% above the average, meaning a $10, 000 house improvement project well might be a better investment than a $12, 000 hot tub, especially if the one you have will be the only home in the community with a hot tub.
Home Upkeep versus Home Improvements
Is actually unfortunate that some redesigning projects are undertaken due to the fact something has broken. Exchanging a leaky bathtub can be the first step to a major bathtub remodeling: since the tub must be replaced anyway, why not the actual whole room?
While that could be a legitimate reason to remodel, stay away from basing your home improvement plans on immediate needs. You can better off if you minimize difficulties with proper maintenance. Examine all of your home at least once a year. What is roof, the plumbing, power wiring, etc . As soon as become conscious of a problem, fix it. Making fixes when you're first aware of these will help you avoid larger expenditures later on. Keep in mind that maintenance would not add to the value of your home. Typically repairs are not improvements; these are necessities.
Hiring Professionals May possibly Save You Time and Money
It should move without saying that house projects can be expensive, therefore you may be tempted to equipment them yourself as a way to reduce costs. That may be a smart move to get small projects. You won't must wait for someone to fit your property into their busy schedule, and you can include about having done the project yourself.
But unless most likely very versatile, major residence improvements are better kept to professionals. If you decide to upgrade the kitchen and plan to do the effort yourself, will you be able to deal with the plumbing, electrical, and also carpentry work on your own?. Also remember that you'll need to finish the item quickly, because you won't have a very kitchen as long as it's a "work in process" and ingesting three meals a day throughout restaurants could get expensive. Remember, do-it-yourself jobs generally consider more time. And you'll be responsible for having all the necessary permits along with inspections.
Hiring people who have the mandatory experience can save you money and time, also. For example , these professionals can help you get yourself a custom look using inventory products, and that can be a considerable savings. Getting something completed right the first time will give you benefit that lasts for years.
To locate qualified and dependable do it yourself specialists, check with friends, enterprise associates, and neighbours with regard to recommendations. Always get at the very least three references, and readd thoroughly. Also check with the area chapter of the Better Business Bureau as well as Chamber of Commerce. Their particular numbers can be found in the community providers section of your telephone publication.
Once you've located the necessary do-it-yourself specialists, make sure everyone is with agreement about the design, typically the schedule, and the budget, and have the details down in writing inside a signed contract.
It's also wise to check into professional certifications and permits, where required, and be without doubt the contractors you seek the services of are fully insured in addition to bonded. Your town or even city Building Department provides that information. And it's essential that you make sure contractors bring workers' compensation insurance: when workers are injured at work, you won't be liable in case the contractor is covered. Ask for copies of their insurance records. And make sure that either you and your contractor have gotten virtually any necessary permits before the perform begins. Contact your local Organizing and Zoning Commission for info.
Here's a quick overview of a number of the professionals you may need to work with once you remodel your home:
Architect: Designer design homes or enhancements from the foundation to the rooftop. If your project will require strength changes such as adding or perhaps removing walls, or if your design is complex, you'll likely need an architect. Given that architects may charge a great hourly or a flat fee, ensure you get an estimate of the overall cost: drawing up the strategies for a major remodeling job can take 80 hours or higher.
Contractor: The contractor supervises the home improvement project, which includes hiring and supervising staff, getting the necessary permits, making certain inspections are done as necessary, and providing insurance regarding work crews. It's always smart to get proposals from one if not more reputable contractors, based on the certain details of your project.
Be sure each and every contractor bids on the exact same plan so that you can compare their particular bids more easily. When you have chosen a contractor, ensure the contract specifies that you pay in stages. Likely to usually pay one third if the contract is signed in order that the contractor can buy supplies. The quantity and timing for making the remainder payments will depend on the size of often the project. Do not make the final repayment until all the work is efficiently completed, inspected, and authorized.
Interior Designers: Interior developers are specialists who will supply advice on furnishings, wall covers, colors, styles, and more. They will help save you time to narrow your selection, and lower your expenses because they usually receive specialist discounts from their suppliers. While meeting with an interior designer, you should definitely tell them about your personal type and preferences. Expect to pay out anywhere from $50 to $150 per hour, or you may be able to loan provider a flat fee of approximately 25% of the total project expense.

=> A pale solstice present.
xxforsaken-angelxx
You walk into the guest dining hall, resolutely choosing to ignore the last ten minutes you spent outside the door thinking of the logistics of the aforementioned action.
Despite the fact that you'd imagined how this event would play out countless times, you'd never started early enough in the process to consider this part of the process. Sollux was in this public room. You were just outside of it. Nobody else was there, but theoretically anyone could've be there at any moment. Which made you think that maybe you should like...just wait until he left? Except that was stupid. But on the off chance you got interrupted with him, that'd be stupider. So, like a reasonable person, you waffled on that outside the door until you picked one basically at random. Also stupid, because in that time there was also the chance of someone walking in, but whatever.
You sit down across from him and give him a soft wave and a softer smile.
hortiicultured
It's been...quite an evening. It's not quite the most you've seen of everyone, in your time here, but Halloween was another beast entirely. Rowdy and loud, a masquerade cranked up to 11 and full of pranks, it was more about the experience than anything.
The Abyssal Night was much calmer... Peaceful, by comparison. Still a party, by clown standards, as these things always were, but the atmosphere was far more chill, and for the first time you really got to see them all interacting in close-knit groups, celebrating in whatever way felt best.
Once, it might have left you feeling lonely. Sure, you'd managed to get along with most everyone, but you've always been acutely aware of your status as an outsider. It was just how these things went. You were jade; you weren't meant to form deep bonds with others outside of your caste, to truly belong anywhere except among others like you, and everyone knew clowns traditionally kept to their own. All that mattered was how you could best serve your fellow trolls. It was a noble, selfless duty-- or so they liked to say. Yet here you were...
Stubbornly clinging to your passions like a weed pushing through concrete, despite knowing you'd have to leave your work behind; loving through the looming pain of separation and the fear of dragging them both down, now. It was so...so hard not to doubt yourself at every turn, wondering if it really wouldn't have been best to just stay quiet and make things easier on everyone involved. You'd tried, but... if you couldn't make your own happiness for however long you might be able to hold onto it, what was the point of living?
On nights like this... Those doubts felt so far away. And as Grinmaww had led you through the ship, it almost felt like a place you could call home, for however long you had it. Bittersweet, perhaps, but for now...? You're happy.
Happier, still, when you look up on hearing someone approach and meet his smile with your own as he sits down across from you, pushing your empty plate to the side.
"Welcome back."
xxforsaken-angelxx
You open your mouth to speak, but pause immediately to put your hand over his before you start. You'd been aching to hold it for the entirety of the longest night, but you just couldn't quite get away with it. Stuff like that was just a touch too far, even when most clowns were okay with friendly affections. He was still a normie, after all. A normie that...really liked your traditions, apparently, but a normie nonetheless.
God you couldn't stop thinking about that. You probably weren't ever going to? The base level of your mental state had already been overtaken by his pretty face, it may as well also be specifically in the moment of enjoying your favorite holiday almost as much as anyone here does. Right now you had to stop for a second to make words, though.
"Yeah, hey, look. I didn't die to my dumbass ancestor an' everything," you laugh. "Really though, dinner went smooth. Bastard didn't try much. Barely even talked to me until he'd drank enough to not be able to put much of a real scheme behind it. Wasn't perfect but it was 'bout as easy as I could've hoped."
...Unless he was just making you think it was easy. Whatever, you could stew on that later. Right now is hot moirail hours.
hortiicultured
There's that pesky little flutter, right on time. It's so silly how something so simple and small as his hand resting cool over yours can make you melt so easily, and you lace your fingers with his where they rest, gratefully. You'd had to stop yourself several times, when you'd walk or stand a little too close and always with far too many people around, on a night when affection came free and easy and still you had to maintain a respectful distance. You don't know how they would take it, or how far it would spread...
But there's nobody here to bother you, right now. You'll take a moment when you can get it.
"No? And here I was thinking I'd been holding hands with a revenant," you snicker, idly rubbing your thumb over his knuckle while he talks. "Mm... I'm glad to hear it, though. The night you never have to deal with him again will really be a night to celebrate."
xxforsaken-angelxx
It's not like you're any better. Tiny gestures are enough to make you blush, and you aren't even really ashamed of that. There's nothing you have to compare to. You just know that you feel very in love, and apparently that makes you blush and sheepishly smile at everything he does.
At least until that last bit. That makes you smile a lot more like you usually do when you bother. Such a nice edge Sollux has sometimes. Even better when he's pointing it towards something so cathartic for you.
"Damn straight. It'll be the best thing you've fuckin' seen, I promise that."
hortiicultured
...it's so easy to drop the walls and the pretense around him, when you're not trying to filter it through text and there's no one to keep up appearances for, that you have to actually try to be more conscious of it so you don't slip up elsewhere. You're comfortable. The good things, the bad things, all those little knives in your chest and the ones clenched behind your teeth, both. You're not a vicious person, for all your poorly-veiled temper, but the thought of someone like the Egregore constantly casting a shadow over the future of his ambitions and wellbeing makes you wish it were a problem to be dealt with a little more decisively.
...you also just kind of love that dumb toothy grin of his. God, you're so stupidly smitten it's embarrassing.
"Hey, I'll hold you to that, it'll be worth a show and then some."
You laugh, a little, and give his hand a squeeze.
"So any more plans for the night? Or you said you had something for me...?"
xxforsaken-angelxx
You shrug. "No plans, just the thing. It's uh, not a physical thing either. Which immediately makes it sound fuckin' pointless, but-"
There's a light sigh, and you try to refocus. You really have gone through this conversation a billion times in your head, but five seconds towards the actual point and you're already babbling. Great job, Makara. Perfect way to start presenting this.
"I got good news I've been wanting to tell you. Real good news."
hortiicultured
He seems nervous. Excited? Is he worried that you won't like whatever it is...? You nod along, and try to look encouraging-- you're awfully curious, have been since he mentioned it and left you waiting til he could be free, wondering what it might be...
"Good news doesn't sound pointless to me, unless I die of anticipation before I ever get to hear it."
xxforsaken-angelxx
"I mean honestly I should've already told you, I just...wanted to make sure, I guess. That it was happenin' and that it was right an' all."
You squeeze his hand, take another breath to collect your thoughts. Or to collect your confidence, really. Nothing could've been more proof that you've been doing the right thing than tonight. Especially not on top of...everything else that's come with starting to date him. Apparently you're good at making him happy? And that's all you want. You want him happy. You want to give him every little thing his pusher wants, just so you can keep seeing it. Tonight has made you so certain that you've known exactly where to start.
"I'm adding you to the crew of the Hydromatic," you say. "As a gardener. It'll be your job to tend to the greenhouse, just with it officially providing to us. And I don't mean I'm starting now, I mean it's practically waiting for your consent. I've gotten the process as far as I can without your involvement, and it's a guaranteed spot if you just come sign a ton of papers and say yes."
hortiicultured
You wait, you listen, you...
Your expression goes blank. You must have misheard him, because what he's saying just isn't something that could happen. You know-- you know what it would take, even under the best circumstances, and now with the Ascension, and everything he's already had to deal with...
...but he looks so earnest, his eyes on you so intent. Your mouth moves a couple of times, but there aren't any words to come out. He's waiting, though, you should really say... something, so he doesn't think you're somehow ungrateful, it's just-- You're just...
"...how?"
xxforsaken-angelxx
"...A lotta really tedious paperwork and holocalls?" you half-joke, cautiously. It was weeks of extra work for you, but you can't say you'll mind if it works out.
"I know it sounds crazy- it was crazy, tryin' to get it all in place, but the logistics of it just...work out? Like we do need someone in that position anyways, an' it's not an unreasonable amenity for a ship like this, an' it looks good on the ascension shit if I do somethin' that still benefits all the old imperial cronies. I can't say your people are exactly happy with me right now, but there's only so much they can do once enough purplebloods are tryin' to strong-arm them."
hortiicultured
Everything he's saying makes sense, up to the part where he actually dealt with all of that for you, you just can't wrap your head around it. It would have taken...so much, for so long, how long had he been trying to make this happen??
"The Head Matron must have been furious..." you remark faintly. Not that she would have shown it beyond a disapproving frown that could curdle milk, but you can imagine it so clearly.
You've found yourself staring down at your overlapping hands, yours tightening around his almost without meaning to. You can hear your pulse pounding in your ears. The end of this journey had hung over you for so long, you'd never wanted to let yourself hope that anything could change, and now he's just...giving it to you, a way out, a reason to stay.
"I-- ...I really thought. I hated it here, for so long..." You're speaking down at the table; you're not quite sure what your face will do if you look up, and already your voice is shaking. "Everything's so... cut off and. Synthetic. Out here... I tried to tell myself that at least...when I got there, I'd have earth under my feet again. But I was just trying to console myself... You tried so hard to make me feel welcome, here... And-- And I realized. That even if I...somehow got everything I thought I wanted... I'd. Still be cut off from everything...everyone. It would be so...empty..."
xxforsaken-angelxx
You nod at the mention of the Matron, giving a tight noise of agreement. That exact same frown is in your mind, and you remember how you had to just...try to be the big scary highblood and not even let it phase you. Over and over again, with her and every other person standing in your way. It was miserable, but you would've done it for even longer if you'd had to.
You don't mention any of that, though. You listen to him stammer his heart out at you, and bring your unoccupied hand up to his face. The tips of your fingers lightly ghost over his hair and around his ear before you rest it on his cheek.
"Last thing I wanted to do is just...trap you somewhere worse. But I uh. I meant it when I said it felt like you belonged here, or something."
hortiicultured
The disapproval and rejection... The constant appeals and red tape to navigate, every hard-won argument... He doesn't have to say it for you to have a good idea of everything he'd had to push through to make this happen. It's so much...
His touch is light and gentle and you shiver in its wake, a heavy sigh breathed out as you close your eyes. You swallow, and when you look up at him they're wide and wet.
"I didn't-- want to make myself want it. But I've felt...more at home here than I ever did back hive. It would've felt like being shunted off to prison... leaving this behind. You."
xxforsaken-angelxx
"You have no idea how much that means to me," you say, smiling. "I mean- fuck, maybe you do right now. But that makes everything worth it."
There's...a lot you could say right now, and it's incredibly hard to work it into comprehensible words. How are you supposed to tell someone how much you care about them being happy? Instead, you settle for trying to catch any tears that start to come down as you listen.
hortiicultured
"...you've been so good to me. You didn't have to be. You didn't have any obligation to do more than get me to where I had to go... It. It felt...greedy...to even think about asking for more..."
But he's done so much. Gave you your greenhive, made you feel welcome instead of a stranger. Made sure you had time off for shore leave, to visit Karkat. Last sweep's masquerade was the most fun you'd had in sweeps. And now, here he was, wiping away your tears as he tells you all about how he's bent over backwards just to make you happy.
...yeah, all that isn't really helping the crying thing, but at least you're smiling now, grasping his hand in both of yours and ducking your face against it.
xxforsaken-angelxx
"Well luckily you don't gotta ask, because apparently I like doin' this anyways."
It kind of hits you how true that is after you say it. You've been a lot nicer than you had to be for...most of his duration here, really. Just because you always liked him. Just because he was easy to talk to, and kept being nice to you back.
...Maybe you were pining for him just a little longer than you thought. He's so vibrant when he's happy. Vibrant and absolutely beautiful.
"I love you."
hortiicultured
You press your lips to his knuckles, stay like that for a moment because it's so hard to find the right words for everything you're feeling right now.
"I. I don't know what to say. Thank you. So much..."
You don't have to leave. You don't have to leave him. There's been a weight and a shadow on your heart that's suddenly gone, and while you know there's still a number of bumps to smooth out before everything is settled, but you don't care, you feel like you could take on just about anything right now.
xxforsaken-angelxx
"I don't know either. I love you though. I'm real happy I get to keep you here."
Your free hand twitches. You...want to touch him, a lot, and can't even decide what to do about it. At this point you can't think straight. All that's really coming to mind is various images of scooping him up and carrying him off to hold for a while, but that's... actually not the worst idea, with some minor revisions.
"...Do you want to go back to my block and sleep over tolight, maybe? Once you've had a minute?"
hortiicultured
You laugh a little, and let go of his hand so you can sit up and try to compose yourself, drying your face on your sleeve. You already know you've made an absolute mess of your makeup, but who's really going to be around to notice, tonight of all nights?
"...yeah. I'd love that. We should...probably get those papers signed, too."
xxforsaken-angelxx
"That'll be a whole ordeal with witnesses an' shit, but I'll get it set up as soon as I can."
Once he seems ready, you'll offer your hand to him like a gentleman, and go lead him off to cuddle. You can hold his hand until you reach the door to the hall, at least. Maybe a little farther, if no one's around and you're feeling saucy.
hortiicultured
"Of course. As soon as possible, just...let me know. For my peace of mind, if nothing else, so nothing can go wrong."
You won't quite rest easy until it's done, but if he's gotten this far-- you won't let a little paranoia damper your elation. He's treated to a beaming smile when you take his hand, and if you have to let go before long, at least you know that you're going to give him the mother of all hugs once you're behind closed doors.

A ‘bullet point text reaction’ post thing to the season premiere would be forking good. If you can spare the time in between all the rewatching and RL, which again might be messin with the rewatching. Ps. sexy librarian ftw.
Apologies for the late reply, anon, and thank you for the interest. I gave it a try but apparently I had a lot more rambling in me than expected, so I’m not sure how much the bullet point format will help. Still, I rolled w/ it behind the cut:
obv spoilers ahead for those who haven’t seen + it’s mostly Michael focused but who is surprised at this point? ok, here we go:
Yes. All hail the Sexy Librarian Guy! 👍
and his ~~flawless~~ Australian accent lmao. I am no native speaker but even I could hear it was just… delightfully off. I love this disaster zone demon so much.
and how pleased he was that Eleanor was pleased w/ that particular “intervention”. It’s a small but nice reminder of how making her happy makes him happy now. #oppositeTorturesRule
it’s a v small thing but I also loved the “fast food link”: Michael being ecstatic about the Pizza Hut/Taco Bell combo & Eleanor fantasizing about Chipotle during Chidi’s lecture on Aristotle. It reminded me of that s1 moment when she tells Michael about those Arizona churro dogs and they both just go ahhhhhhhh at the image + Judge Gen ofc (they love fast food in the afterlife)
also also the sweet ache of Michael being entangled in her ticker tape while insisting on nudgy-nudge-nudge her & Chidi together bc that’s how it should be is still pressing hard on my heart thank you v much
but
I think that being deprived of close contact w/ his humans is causing Michael to slide back into puppet master mode again. His motivation is different or “reformed” now (secretly helping instead of secretly torturing) but his methods, his itch to control everything (and failing), and the rigid focus on his goals are… not so much, imo, and I love it bc this is Michael: he is a nerd but also an idiot w/ Wile E. Coyote vibes. Janet tries to reel him in but she can’t. Eleanor was the only one who could control him and she was the only one whose advice he actively sought and listened to, but she cannot be there for him now, so yes, I am getting a lot of S1 vibes from this double ep complete w/ her unintentionally messing w/ his formula by not falling for Chidi & the arrival of Trevor. *rubs hands*
COCOONS
so many
so… squishy
and TODD! I never thought I would see him so soon but I was right: he is the best lava monster and fork you, Shawn, for being a jerk to him when he was nothing but supportive and even brought you guys Dunkin’ Spiders to snack on.
I love Shawn, he is the perfect baddie, and I love that we got another glimpse into how TBP operates w/ all their excruciatingly low-tech gadgets. It’s in sharp contrast to (even Michael’s fake) TGP where everything is so neat, efficient, and high-tech. It’s another nice reminder of how the torturers are also being made miserable in TBP in various ways. I can’t blame Michael for wanting to keep his failing experiment running as long as possible.
Judge Gen (who continues to be a delight and way too relatable w/ her binge-watching of media content) is so up to something, people. I cannot shake this feeling that this whole “Operation Resurrection” is not what it looks like on the surface at all. Maybe it’s an experiment within an experiment sort of deal. I mean, why does she trust Michael of all creatures w/ the monitoring duty at all?? She might be quirky but she is def not stupid. She must know he’s a natural rule breaker who’s incapable of sitting still for longer than 2 seconds and he’s not at all impartial here. The way she set this all up reminds me of the test she gave Jason, and Michael is already failing just like Jason did bc he couldn’t opt out of “playing” due to lack of impulse control and a massive personal bias regarding his favorite team, the Cockroaches. idk what this will mean long-term but I think he’s gonna be in a lot of trouble soon.
speaking of Jason and Michael: theirs is my favorite (sort of bonding) scene, hands down. Again, it reminded me of an early S2 moment when Jason stumbles on a brooding, lost Michael and tells him a dope story about his 60-person dance crew that unexpectedly inspires Michael to seek out Eleanor & Co. The situations are reversed here but it’s an excellent parallel, esp when you compare the two scenes and see the development in both characters and their relationship. Jason is a bit more grounded and Michael is less dismissive and much kinder to him now. I also love Jason’s continued immunity to Michael’s b.s. It’s different from Eleanor’s (his is stupid-based and hers is about being smartbrained) but it works and pushes Michael to just level w/ him and the second he does, Jason becomes instantly receptive. It’s just a really really great character moment that also moves the plot, so it’s basically perfect. Also I think this is the moment when Michael is temporarily pulled from his puppet master mode due to being near one of his human friends again, and his other side peeks out as he lets himself rest a bit - it’s in his body language, too, as he leans back against the bridge railing and has a semi-honest chat w/ Jason.
Michael’s disguises are an eternal source of happiness to me. All of them (and based on promo pics, more is coming). I also love the way he approaches each human bc it is reminiscent of how he steered them during the reboots: to Eleanor he gave a small clue and just let her chew on it and work w/ it. W/ Chidi, he was more direct, posing as a wise helper/guide. W/ Tahani, he targeted her sense of self-worth. W/ Jason, he gave up after 5 seconds and just told him what he wanted him to do.
I doubt his aliases raised many eyebrows, tho, not in a universe where Simone has colleagues called Mrelk and Catapulp :D but Eleanor seemed to have a bit of a “hmm” reaction to the name of Dr. Charles Brainman, so… we’ll see.
Dr. Simone Garnett had probably the smoothest entry into an established character group, imo. I’m usually sensitive to changes like this but it’s like she’s always been here - another excellent casting choice right there. I am not gonna touch shipping issues, thank you, but I love how Simone’s presence, which is a lot of fun in itself, instantly enriched the landscape of relationship dynamics regarding the present, the future and also the past. I feel that every character combination exists somewhere in canon whether it’s explicitly on screen or not, and that’s just an incredibly freeing, resourceful attitude to have on a show w/ this sort of “multiverse” setup, imo. They have the premise, so why not milk its full potential? The writers use relationships as tools to aid character development, they have admitted as much already, and I am looking forward to seeing what other combos they have in mind and how they play out.
despite his limited screen time and despite him spending most of it being flat and emotionless, frog guy aka The Doorman managed to deliver the biggest punch in my heart w/ that reaction to Michael’s gift. I.crumbled. the way his flatness did when he saw the frog on the mug. Thank you, Mike O'Malley.
It’s probably a good thing that they are becoming buddies now bc w/ evil Trevor in the mix, Michael’s gonna turn that Earth entrance into a revolving door. Unless Judge Gen is onto him and steps in at some point. And I still don’t know how he will interact w/ the team now since they’ve all met him already and he was posing as a different person each time. And given his track record, whatever solution he comes up with, Eleanor will see right through him eventually anyway.
ok this is way too long already, so I’m just gonna say that I am very excited for this season, I love the new setup, I miss the fake Good Place but the university environment is growing on me fast, too, and just bring it, show, ok?
my body is ready

Please can I have sid Geno as an actor/celebrity au?
1) Sid is the classic child star gone right story. He probably won his first Oscar at like 10, but he never had the mental break–he just kept working, and kept making hits. Some people say it’s because he’s that steady and grounded. Other people say it’s because he’s a robot–he’s a great actor but he’s known for being the least interesting interview you can have, because he’s been so very media trained, though everyone who meets him also says he’s also always very nice. He also, of course, has a reputation for being hard to work with as a co-star or a director–he doesn’t pretend he’s not a perfectionist. But he keeps making good movies, sometimes even great ones, and the awards keep coming and so do the box office returns, and if he’s not the most interesting actor in the world he’s definitely a reliable one.
Which is why everyone’s surprised, when he takes the role as the leader in the newest superhero ensemble movie.
2) That everyone includes Geno. No one is more surprised than Geno, when he’s cast as the lancer/foil/eventual second in command to Sid’s leader. He’s basically unknown in Hollywood at this point–he made some Russian movies that were well received, but nothing that’s particularly made it into the US. But when he hears Sidney Crosby–whose career he’s watched with excitement and delight and competitiveness from an ocean away–is going to be in this movie, he throws everything he has into the audition. He needs to act with Sidney Crosby. He’s going to get this role. These are the things that Geno knows. He’s ready for Sidney to be exacting and difficult and bratty and all the things that he’s heard about, because it’s all going to be worth it to be in one of his movies and make it to those sorts of audience.
What he’s not ready for is to meet Sidney at their first table read, and for Sidney to stick out his hand like he’s been doing for all the rest of the cast, from the lowest to the highest–and the crew too, Geno later hears–and shake his hand heartily. And, while Geno’s still working on remembering English in the face of meeting him and the realization that he’s even more attractive in person, fuck, Sidney grins sheepishly. “I’m really excited to do this with you,” he says, a little bashful. “I’m a big fan–I’ve been watching all your movies. I mean, I don’t understand a lot of them, but you’re good enough that I don’t need to.”
Geno swallows his tongue. Then he just swallows, as he tries to figure out what to say. He actually does know how to speak English, and he’s been brushing up for this role. He just wasn’t prepared to speak English in the face of Sidney Crosby telling him he’s a fan of Geno. “Thanks,” he says at last, enunciating carefully. Sidney waits patiently. “I’m big fan too. Watch all your movies, from when I kid.”
Sidney gives another humble little shrug. “Oh, well,” he says, like that’s supposed to mean something. Then he straightens. “Do you want to get together sometime to flesh out our roles’ relationship?” he asks–or well, demands. “I was doing some research into military bonds, but I’m not sure that’s all there is between our characters–I’m thinking about playing mine…”
That, Geno thinks, trying desperately to follow along, is more what he was expecting.
3) Sidney tells the press he took this film to widen his range, to keep from being typecast, to reach more people. What he doesn’t tell the press is he took it because he’s been bored. It’s getting rote. He never thought it would–he loves acting more than anything, he’s devoted his life to it–but recently it’s been getting stale. His agent suggested he take a break–he doesn’t have to work again, money-wise–but that doesn’t compute with Sid. Instead, he found a role that will hopefully make him remember why he loves to act. That will make it fun again.
And–it does. Sid’s incapable of not throwing himself into a role 500%, and he does it this time too–his character’s fascinating, a combination of loyalty and PTSD and expediency that he relates to more than he wants–but it’s… it’s also reading comics in his trailer, with whoever else on the cast is around that day. It’s being dragged out to drinks with the rest of the cast. It’s being on a green screen and seeing himself fly.
It’s Geno listening to him talk about his character motivations and run lines with him and push him in every scene they have together. It’s Geno hanging around his trailer–”You have nicest trailer, make most money, have to put up with us take advantage”–and making space in his life and laughing at him when he stops to sign autographs and teasing Sid for how uncomfortable he seems, even now. Sid’s trying not to think about how much of how good this role is is because of Geno. Shooting friendships–or more–linger on, in Sid’s experience, but they’re never quite as intense. Sid’s learned to take them as they are, for as long as they are.
4) “Were they supposed to have so much…subtext?” an AD asks, watching Sid and Geno shoot a scene.
“They are now,” the director tells him. “Zoom in on six.”
5) Geno’s not really lying to himself. He never stood a chance against Sid. He was primed for a crush, given his longstanding appreciation of his work, but how was he supposed to stand up to the reality of it? He’s had unrequited crushes before, it’s fine. Sid keeps his private life so intensely private that Geno doesn’t know who he’s into, or if he’s into anyone at all. It’s probably better that way anyway. Geno does want to go back to Russia, to have a career in both countries, and if he were to do anything with Sid–Sid’s a household name. There’s no way Geno could keep it quiet. Geno’s not even sure he’d want to.
6) Sid is lying to himself. Sid’s had a few very quiet, very discrete, very easy relationships, which generally fizzled because of Sid’s schedule or because they didn’t want to be quiet and discrete. People don’t get it, generally–Sid’s kept his sanity because he’s kept such a tight control over what he gives other people. He’s seen what happens, to the celebrities who give too much and end up having nothing left for themselves. Sid can’t do that. Sid won’t do that. Sid guards himself jealously, because no one else is going to. And Geno–Geno who loves so loudly, who gives of himself so freely to everyone who passes, who has yet to really deal with the shitshow of US stardom though Sid knows he will as soon as this movie hits screens–Geno’s not made for Sid’s sort of love. So Sid lies to himself, and says he doesn’t care.
7) “Do you wanna know my secret?” Sid asks. It’s late, and they’re both a little drunk–they’d been running lines until they got too tired and the booze was brought out, and because Geno’s got a shirtless scene tomorrow they’re drinking hard alcohol instead of beer. So now they’re passing Geno’s flask back and forth, Geno slumped back on the couch and Sid sprawled over it, his head on Geno’s lap. Sid, Geno’s learned, doesn’t really have a conception of normal physical boundaries, raised as he was on movie sets and fans. Geno is very much not complaining. it means he has an excuse to run his fingers over Sid’s hair, tug a little at the curls.
“Secret for what?” he asks, amused. Sid’s definitely drunker than he is.
“For–staying sane. You’ll need it too,” Sid warns, and he blinks up at Geno. “When everyone wants a part of you, you’ll need to learn.”
“You think I’m gonna be famous?” Geno teases, and Sid grins.
“I know it,” he says. Geno can’t help preening at that. Then, “I sort of wish you wouldn’t.”
Geno stops preening. “Why? Can’t handle competition?” he demands, louder maybe than he has to to hide the hurt.
“No.” Sid smiles, and it’s sad. “I like you how you are. I don’t want you to lose that.”
“I won’t.”
“You will,” Sid tells him, with a sigh of long experience. “That’s why you can’t let anyone else know. Let anyone else see you. If people see you, they’ll ask for more and more until you’re all gone.”
It sounds sad, to Geno. “Sounds lonely,” he points out. Looks down at Sid, flushed and warm and so very human on the couch, and thinks of the image he has behind a camera.
Sid shrugs. “Better than the alternative, though.” He looks at Geno, very long, very deep. “I don’t know how to stay sane any other way, you know?”
Geno knows. Or no, he doesn’t, but–he gets what Sid is telling him. Gets it, and understands, sort of, even if his heart is breaking. “I know,” he says, and lets himself run his fingers through Sid’s hair one more time.
8) “So what was it like playing against Evegeni Malkin?” the reporter asks at the premier. "Was it a big change for you?”
Sid smiles, his perfectly crafted media smile. “It was great,” he says. “Geno’s one of the best actors I’ve had the privilege to work with. You’ll see once you see the movie–he’s going to blow you all away.”
“So are you looking forward to the sequel?” Sid looks over to where Geno’s holding court, the reporters laughing and smiling around him. Geno looks up, like he could sense Sid, and he grins and winks, clearly having the time of his life.
“Yes,” Sid says. “I’m looking forward to a long and successful partnership.”
9) It takes four movies, eight years, and a hefty AO3 pairing for both them and their characters, before Geno corners Sid again. It’s at the premiere party for the movie that’s going to end both their contracts, so they just watched the final movie. It’s been eight years of a successful partnership, and Geno figuring out how to deal with his new fame and understanding more where Sid was coming from, and eight years of Sid for the first time really wanting someone he can’t let himself have, and realizing what he’s been giving up.
And now–now they’re in a Hollywood garden, and they just watched a movie which ended with a shot Sid didn’t even really remember, with him resting his hand on Geno’s as they talked about the future.
“How you like movie?” Geno asks. His English is perfect when he wants it to be, by now; with Sid he doesn’t care. “Last one.”
“Yeah. It was good.” Sid always has critiques, of his performance and everyone else’s, but he also knows now isn’t the time to air those. “The ending wasn’t what I expected.”
“What you expect?” Geno asks. He leans over, looming into Sid’s space.
“I…” Sid shrugs. “That was a romance ending. But it wasn’t a love story.”
Geno takes a step closer, and he’s looking down at Sid as intent as he’s ever looked. “Wasn’t it?”
“Geno–” Sid starts, but Geno cuts him off.
“We do it your way for years, Sid. Maybe you were right then.”
“Maybe?”
“Maybe,” Geno confirms. “But–it’s been long time.”
“And you’ve only gotten more famous. You get what I meant now.”
“Maybe.” Geno reaches out, takes Sid’s hand, and Sid lets him. “And I was right. it is lonely.”
“You never seemed lonely,” Sid bites back, then regrets it when Geno’s eyes glint.
“You looking?”
“That was never the question.” Sid meets Geno’s eyes, and this is a man who’s stood up to hordes of reporters and the most demanding of directors. “I can’t–I can’t be anyone who I’m not.” It’s the best way he can explain it. “And I don’t want you to be either.”
Geno rolls his eyes. “Is called compromise, Sid,” He tells him, and, like one of the romance heroes he’s occasionally played, brings Sid’s hand to his lips. “We superheroes, you not know? We can figure it out.”
And he grins at Sid, and it’s–Sid remembers what it feels like to fly. “Yeah,” Sid agrees, maybe not 100% convinced but getting there. “Maybe we can.”

A story about friendship
Characters: Zian, Rena
Words: 3539
(part 1)
Zian woke from something shifting next to him, and his body being moved around. A little disoriented he started upright to see Rena next to him, attempting to leave the spot they’d been curled up in for the night.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to wake you up.
Zian still hadn’t quite gotten used to the voice resounding in his mind, seemingly coming from all directions at once like he was standing inside of an echoing cave. He’d feel a little dizzy whenever Rena addressed him this way, followed by a mild headache if she continued to talk.
“That’s alright,” he groaned, peering at the cave entrance, where a faint bit of light indicated the sun was going to rise soon.
I wanted to catch us some breakfast.
“You do that, I’ll stay here for a bit,” he mumbled, pulling the piece of sail cloth around him while he laid down again.
She seemed to hesitate for a moment, looking down at the red-haired human curled up in front of her. Then she shook it off and went outside. Zian heard the movement of air as the took to the sky with a beat of her wings.
This was going to be his fifth day here on the island. He’d spent two nights in this cave with Rena, the first because she didn’t want to let him go so shortly after meeting and bonding with him, the second because it had started to rain so violently he was afraid even his improved shelter wouldn’t be of much help. And secretly he didn’t feel like being without her either. It was a strange feeling that had taken hold of him. It was as if their minds had become linked, connected by some invisible thread that he could feel tugging on him at all times. He could see what she saw, hear what she heard, and feel what she felt, both physical and emotional. She could talk to him in that strange, echo-y voice, and, according to what she’d told him, he would also be able to answer. He hadn’t quite figured that one out though: at this point his focus lay more on not feeling sick after any kind of interaction whatsoever.
He’d just managed to doze off back to sleep, when a sudden rush of adrenaline hit him, and images started to enter his mind. The treeline, coming up fast as he plummeted down towards the ground, just narrowly avoiding it as he sailed past, opening his wings to somewhat slow the descent before landing on all fours, a creature pinned to the ground under his front legs. Its neck was quickly crushed by his strong jaws, and holding it there he took to the sky again.
Zian gasped as he regained awareness of his own body, now sitting upright, all of his muscles tensed up. He detected the taste of blood in his mouth, but wasn’t sure if this was thanks to his newfound bond or just his imagination. With a deep sigh he removed his cover and got up to stretch his legs: sleeping would be nearly impossible after this. He rummaged around in the cave a bit, piling some of the wood he’d gathered earlier to create a small fire to roast whatever Rena had caught for him. She preferred to eat her food raw but he’d explained to her that it wasn’t going to work the same for him. She appeared to be utterly clueless about the way humans survived or acted, which wasn’t surprising if she’d been living in a place that didn’t get many human visitors. The ones she’d seen so far – some other washed-up members of his crew – had received a welcome equal to that of the small creature she was now carrying into the cave. If they hadn’t bonded, Zian would have met a similar fate.
He felt a tug of the invisible thread as he laid eyes on Rena. Apart from their linked senses, their bond also came with this indescribable feeling. It was a sense of safety, of trust, a feeling that grew stronger whenever they were near each other, but could easily flip to panic when they were separated. This was the reason Rena hadn’t allowed him to leave after they’d first met: he was hers now, and she was going to keep him safe. Ultimately, keeping him safe meant bringing him back to civilisation, but right now she refused to do so. He’d brought it up the first day, as soon as he’d gained some understanding of what was going on, but she’d said he wasn’t ready yet. Zian got the feeling that it was actually her who wasn’t ready to leave her safe and isolated island, but he hadn’t pushed.
He took the carcass from her and attempted to prepare it, using the knife he’d found amongst the remains of one of his former crewmembers. He had no experience with this apart from the one she’d brought him yesterday, but he’d seen it being done before. He probably wasn’t the most efficient in separating the edible parts from the rest, but he was the only one who was going to eat from it and it was more than enough to suit one person. In this climate he didn’t think it would keep for more than a day anyway.
While he worked to prepare his meal Rena had gone out again to catch something for herself. She returned while he was roasting the meat on a stick above the fire. She’d already eaten her catch, saving him the horrible crunching noises she’d made the previous day, before she’d realised he didn’t exactly appreciate those. She laid down at the far side of the cave, pretending to ignore him, but Zian knew she was keeping an eye out.
“Tell me about your home,” he said, still facing the fire.
He’d asked her about her living situation before: had she always been on the island – it seemed a bit small to accommodate a dragon – and were there any other dragons? She’d just grumpily said she was away from home, not willing to go into any more details. Perhaps now she would open up a bit more.
It’s… far from here, she hesitated. How much do you know about dimensions other than earth?
Zian blinked and almost dropped his stick.
“…What?”
She let out a sigh.
Oh, great. You’d think Naturals would know these things.
She seemed to be muttering this more to herself than to him.
Zian took his meal out of the fire and walked over towards the corner, sitting down with his back against her warm scales.
“Tell me.”
Alright.
She changed position slightly to curl around him.
There are other dimensions out there, other worlds that can be reached with magic. I don’t know how many, or how it works, but I’m from a place called Kellan, you would probably know it as Hell.
“You’re from Hell?!”
It’s nothing like the human myths. There’s demons, and that’s where the comparison ends. It’s not an afterlife, there’s no torturing of sinners or whatever story you humans made up. Just a world with people who are different from you. Reason enough for humans to assume they’re evil.
“Yes, we seem to be very good at that,” Zian nodded with his mouth full.
The meat wasn’t seasoned, but after months of the bland, flavourless meals prepared by the ship’s cook he’d gotten used to that. And here on the island any food he could get was welcome.
There exist many portals between the two worlds, through which people can travel from one dimension to the other. It’s mostly demons who use them, only a handful of humans know about their existence.
“And dragons?”
Dragons can use them, yes. But only the ones they’ll fit through.
Zian, imagining the portals to be around the size of a doorway, nodded again. Made sense. Maybe.
I left my home a while ago because I wanted to see earth. I wanted to see the sun.
“It’s not sunny where you’re from?”
There is no sun. There is light, but it’s like the sky is always overcast.
“Then how do you know there is no sun? Perhaps it’s there, but just behind the clouds.”
I don’t know, I’m not a scientist. That’s just what I’ve been told.
Zian had many more questions, but decided to leave the subject for now.
“What does your home look like?”
Images entered his mind, of high peaks, towering above a dense forest which was reddish in colour. The trees were huge, he could tell even from this distance. Waterfalls came down from the mountains, forming rivers which cut through the landscape. He approached the mountains, passing between them and saw a network of caves, dragons sitting outside some of them. More of them, of various colours, were gathered on a flat area on one of the mountainsides. The scene changed, he was now in the area between the trees. The ground was flatter here further down the mountainside, and he could see simple wood and stone structures here and there. Smaller dragons were playing in the stream under the watchful eye of one of their parents. Down here he also saw humanoid creatures, but with different colours of skin: he saw blues, reds and greens. Some of them were winged, or had other non-human features like horns or tails. Some seemed to be covered in fur or scales. He figured these must be demons. They appeared to be trading goods. A makeshift stall displayed glass objects, another various meats and pelts. Some of the demons carried goods, appearing to be traveling merchants. The scene changed again, this time he was inside one of the caves, surrounded by other dragons. He could feel these were Rena’s friends. They were having fun and telling each other stories. The cave was lit by strange glowing orbs that were held by glass structures. Now that he looked around he could see more glass objects, both decorative and functional. He got the feeling the dragons had made these things, which made sense given their affinity with fire.
The images stopped and Zian blinked a few times against an upcoming headache.
“Your home looks nice. Why’d you leave?”
Like I said, I wanted to see the world. …also, I might have pissed some people off.
“Oh. So… you can’t go home at all?” he asked carefully.
I could. Haven’t felt the need to. And now that you’re here, I probably won’t for a while.
“I’d love to see your home. If you’re ready, of course.”
We’re both not ready at this point. My world is a dangerous place, especially for a human.
“I’m a Natural, though. I can handle myself.”
She laughed: a deep, growling sound.
Demons have magic ten times as strong as yours. Your little tricks won’t make a difference.
“They’re not tricks!”
They are to them. Magic aside, we need to be able to synchronise, to work together, before we go in there. Before we go anywhere, really.
“I thought you were going to get me off this island?”
I will, as soon as you can manage to stay on my back.
“We haven’t even tried that yet!” Zian protested.
Because you haven’t gotten used to our connection yet. Whenever I contact you, you get all dizzy and forget about your own body – you haven’t touched your food since I started talking.
He realised she was right, and quickly took a bite.
Before we try anything, you need to be able to stay aware of what you’re doing, even when I talk to you or show you things. You don’t want to get distracted and fall to your death.
“Or you could just not talk to me while you take me somewhere less abandoned, and then we can practice.”
It is safe here, though. Going back to civilisation will be a risk. Humans will be a risk. They can’t see me, and I sure as hell won’t let you out of my sight.
“So I’m just stuck here now?”
Zian didn’t really like the thought of having to spend any more time on the island than necessary. But he also knew that if this was what Rena had decided he wouldn’t be able to do much against it. He couldn’t leave here without her – and he wasn’t sure he wanted to, either.
For now. But as soon as we figure this out we can go anywhere we want.
“Alright,” Zian sighed.
He ate the rest of his food in silence. He should probably go out and try to find some more fruit later.
Now tell me about your home, Rena said after a while.
“Oh, uhh…” Zian started. “I haven’t been there in some time. Ships have been my home for a while now, and whatever I came across on the road before that.”
But you did have a home before that? A place with your family?
“Yes.”
Why’d you leave?
Zian thought for a moment.
“I didn’t… fit in. You see, my family is not like me. They’re not Naturals. They don’t have… this.”
He gestured at his hair.
“They told me there used to be more like me, back in the day. There’s old paintings in the house that show people with bright red hair and fancy clothes. Didn’t look like they were trying to hide it back then. But the talent seems to be dying out. My grandfather used to tell me about his grandfather, who was a Natural. The last one for as far as I know. But those were only stories – he couldn’t help me with how it worked. I’ve tried to find records on it, but all I can find are legal cases. My family sure loves keeping record of what they’ve done, but not about who they were.”
What is it that they do?
“Most of them are lawyers. It’s kind of a family business. They wanted me to become one, too.”
But you didn’t?
“Nah. Not really my thing. And people didn’t seem to trust me, anyway.”
Because of your powers?
“Not exactly…”
The hair?
Zian chuckled.
“I don’t know, maybe. It was mostly because I wasn’t exactly a well-behaved child. Always getting into trouble, or pulling pranks on people. Didn’t get much better with age,” he shrugged.
“…And I might have used my powers once or twice, to get out of a situation. Didn’t really help my reputation. Turns out even city people believe in witches.”
That’s why you had to leave?
“Partially. I mostly wanted to find answers, since my family wasn’t all that helpful.”
Have you been able to find some?
“I’ve found Naturals, but no one who’d even heard of manipulating time.”
And you’re sure there’s no Naturals left from your family?
“There might be some distant relatives out there, but I haven’t found them yet.”
We could try to find them. Or perhaps my world will have answers. They do have records on magic.
“That’d be great.”
But first we need to work on your projection skills.
“My what?”
Try to talk to me without opening your mouth.
“Oh, like you’re doing. Alright.”
Zian tried to focus on his connection to Rena. Not sure about what he was actually doing, he just tried to think on words really hard.
Hello, does this work?
…It’s a start. You don’t have to try so hard.
How about this? Zian tried, having no idea if there was any actual change in volume.
A little better, but try not to focus on words as much as you do when speaking. It’s not just that. Projecting is a combination of images and feelings too, much like the way you would use gestures and facial expressions while talking. It’s challenging for humans to learn, but with a lot of practice you’ll get the hang of it.
Zian considered this for a moment.
I’m not sure how to… send you a feeling.
He detected something bright and colourful as a response.
At this point it’s more about holding back, Rena smiled. You need to be able to tell the difference between something you share and something you keep to yourself. Right now, what I’m receiving is a jumbled mess of whatever happens to be on your mind at the moment.
Sorry.
No worries. It’s kind of adorable, actually.
Zian wasn’t sure if he liked being called adorable. Terms like that were usually reserved for small children. Did she think he sounded like a child? Children weren’t very skilled talkers, so maybe.
All humans tend to sound like children, she replied.
You heard that too?
The colourful sensation returned. Zian got the feeling it might mean she was laughing.
Yes. Like I said, you have very little control. But you’ll get the hang of it. When you do, I’ll teach you how to properly project. Right now I’m choosing my words carefully, but dragons don’t usually speak this way. There’s emotions and colours and nuances that can be tricky to interpret at first, so we’ll take it slow on those.
Great. I don’t think I could handle any more of this right now.
Zian was aware of the “nuances” Rena’s messages contained, even though she tried to keep it simple. She sent him words as if they were speaking, but it was as if each word was loaded with some extra meaning, one he couldn’t always manage to interpret. Her words made him feel happy or calm, as if to reassure him. But there were also flashes of something else – colours or images flashing by too fast for him to recognise. He realised she was speaking a completely different language, the meaning of which he could only guess. It would take a lot of practice before he’d be able to pick up on them – and even longer to be able to express them.
You are already speaking it, even though you may not realise, Rena pointed out, as if she’d heard – and of course she had.
You’ve been sending me this, she continued, and a warm, safe feeling spread throughout his body. It means “friend”.
I…
It can mean other things too, she quickly added, feeling the need to explain. But “friend” is the most accurate translation in this case.
Zian was quiet for a moment, taking in the sensation he’d apparently been communicating without his knowledge. It felt familiar indeed, but strange at the same time.
“I don’t think I’ve had a friend before,” he mumbled out loud, not being able to combine this feeling with any other form of communication.
Rena brought her head closer to his.
You do now.
They sat in silence for a bit – or at least Zian hoped it was silence, who knew what he would be communicating to Rena without realising – then he got up to stretch his legs.
“I’m going to look for some food, do you want to come?”
If only I could fit underneath the trees.
“…Fair point. I’ll be right back, then.”
I’ll catch us some fish.
“That’d be nice.”
Zian noticed she waited with leaving the cave until he’d safely made it down the mountain. Perhaps she was afraid her taking off would confuse him and make him lose his balance. Even when he was on safe grounds below, he still experienced a moment of vertigo when she soared down alongside the mountain and over the tops of the trees. Simply walking through the forest became a surreal experience, feeling the salty breeze across his face mixed with the smell of leaves and dirt. He scanned the trees for fruit, but sometimes his vision briefly flickered to the ocean seen from above, combined with a feeling of alertness, ready to strike whenever he detected movement. Just a few paces further he spotted a bird and felt a jolt as Rena wanted to jump at something that wasn’t there. Seems like he wasn’t the only one who had to get used to this, he thought with a smile. Immediately Rena plummeted down from the sky, making him lose all sense of direction. She swooped back up as he scrambled up from the ground, a feeling he could only describe as a smirk entering his mind.
Very funny.
You might want to sit down – I’m about to do this for real at any moment, she answered.
We’ll see about that.
It took a while – she’d been right, he did have to sit down – but he managed to gather some fruit and made his way back up the path, stopping by the stream to get some water on the way. Rena had gathered a small pile of fish for him, having eaten her share directly after catching them. He immediately started working on cleaning and roasting them – raw fish would get stinky really quickly. Meanwhile, Rena just looked at him. He could feel her eyes on him the entire time, but it didn’t make him feel nervous, as was the case with other people. There was only this warm, safe feeling. Friend, he now knew.
He sat down, leaning against her and looking out over the island. Perhaps staying here for a while wasn’t so bad after all.
