Omg a follow up to the bby! YL and Zhu Yan-Gege post?? Last one got me thinking about where Li Lun is in this au 👀

Li Lun is being menaced and is currently in danger of angy A-Lei stabbing him in the leg with his own drum LMAO. Also I think toddler Ying Lei would have been a cute little gremlin. (I am pushing the Red Panda Ying Lei agenda) These two are actually kind of fond of each other but honestly you can't always tell because they are both terrible at sharing. (Zhu Yan why must you be everyone's favourite blorbo lmao) Anyway I've got so many more little ideas about the Mt Kunlun fam au so there might be more on the way lmao.

Li Lun and Ying Lei headcannons for the Mt.Kunlun Fam AU: Ying Lei is obviously a sweetheart, but Zhu Yan and Li Lun bring out the worst in him lmao. Zhu Yan because he indulges Ying Lei's troublemaker tendencies and Li Lun because Ying Lei hates sharing affection, especially when he's still little.

Look Li Lun likes the little half-demon creature, most of the time. he's Cute He's a constant source of headaches for Ying Zhao, which the old man deserves, in Li Lun's humble opinion. He's a wild little thing the way creatures of the wilderness should be. But he's a liar. He's a tiny gremlin right up until Zhu Yan is around and then he turns into a little angel. And Zhu Yan is the worlds softest tough for little creatures with too-big eyes and too-sharp teeth, so of course the man dotes on the tiny godling. And he's such a brat about it! Whenever Li Lun visits Mt. Kunlun to try spirit Zhu Yan away for a day or a week (or a year) or two, this little creature is there. Clinging. Obviously this is all an act, but Zhu Yan thinks it's hilarious so he's not going to spoil A-Lei's fun by giving the game away. Zhu Yan will be enabling the little god's shenanigans, and then Li Lun will show up. And A-Lei will turn into a precious little prince, and demand to be coddled and carried and carted around, when literally an hour ago he was attempting to teeth on Zhu Yan's umbrella. (Ying Lei does this half because the faces Li Lun makes are hilarious; 9-parts disbelieving frustration and 1-part begrudging admiration, and half because whenever Li Lun shows up and drags Yan-Gege off somewhere the great demon always ends up getting distracted with the stupid tree spirit and doesn't come back home to the mountain for ages)

uhhhhhh i have many sonic aus and this is probably my new favorite and the one that has been most developed. it's sonic boom but silver is there. it's like a weird boom remake of 06 but i added the chaos emeralds back because i couldn't figure out how to do the weird magic shit without them.

In the new world. Joseph, the Father of what was once a big family walked to a distant place, away from his own garden, in the remaining mountains of the old Hope county

The old man walked to a sort of cabin, build by the two men he came seek for a possible help. He looked around at the porch, the little garden, some dog houses here and there. Rustic but they made it their home. Joseph continued his way toward the side of the house to where he saw one of the men. Still thin but looking healthier, with a kind of mullet like his younger days. There, trying to paint with some rudimentary paint he made. The old Father walked closer and let out a little greeting. "Oh ? Joseph ?" The man turned and gave him a little smile. The man was older, his burned marks still there but healed after so many years. They were placed at the same spots as his partner and the similarities made Joseph smile. All the more so as, as he grew older, the old painter’s beard became ginger. What was a little spot few years ago, grew to almost all his chin.

E- What is this visit worth, dear ?

J -i wanted to come visit you two. It’s been a while

-yeah… a while. so how’s the others ? In your new Eden ?

-it’s going well. My son can be difficult sometimes but one day he’ll grow in maturity, I’m sure

Here came the mountain man in all his glory. The old wolf came from the woods with his little pack and a buck on his shoulders. He looked stronger, well fed like if he was scared he had to eat someone else. The old age made him hairier and loose his colors, more grey and white but some ginger hair were still visible. He aged well, we could say.

In which the reader here takes Levi's place in the plot.

The reader came from the underground with her two friends being taken by Erwin Smith.

Kuchel, Furlan and Isabel are alive and live as civilians along with Levi.

The reader is humanity's strongest soldier. Ackerman here is not the clan that suffered the experience 100 years ago, but rather the reader's clan.

The reader is shopping together with her squad. Levi and Kuchel have a tea shop. Levi admires the reader and would like to meet her, but he is shy. Petra ends up finding Levi's tea shop and tells the reader.

I leave the development up to you. I have so many ideas with this theme of the reader taking Levi's place that I don't know if you would accept it. But, don't feel obligated to do it.

"levi." kuchel lays her hands on her son's shoulders, only then does his attention begin to shift. "sorry," said levi. "i wasn't paying much attention." his response earns a laugh from of his mother. her hands linger on him, the scent of her soap, old wax candles and herbs calm his senses.

"i can see that, what were you looking at?" she asks, her eyes scanning the direction in which levi seemed so entranced in. the town falls silent, onlookers stare on at the incoming soldiers. the wings of freedom dawning their uniforms, blood staining their hands. kuchel's smile fades a little, yet she keeps quiet.

"the survey corps?" she mutters, tasting the words on her tongue as if she had never said them before. levi points, his finger following in your direction. "they call her 'humanity's strongest soldier'." he acknowledges, staring at you, watching you stride. a fatigued and wearied walk that looks like it drains you of whatever energy you have left.

still you stand out from the rest, levi can't explain it but he can sense fortitude, stability and resilience from you. he imagines having to hear the distant screams, pleas and howls of the soldiers who didn't back it back—the ones who were eaten, crushed or worse.

"what does it take to be the strongest? i want to ask her myself. . ." levi whispers, a silent prayer to whoever will listen that maybe, he'll get to meet you. kuchel ponders her son's words in silence, turning away from him to see to the customers who pass by.

mornings, nights, afternoons, all pass by and you do too. every expedition is another step towards something better, or maybe that's something you just tell yourself.

"excuse me," velvet features and soft, blue, warm irises is what levi is met with this morning. the woman waves to get his attention, wearing the uniform he had gotten so familiar with. "hello." levi greets her, a towel in his right hand, a duster in his left. "what do you sell here?" the young lady asks, an uncertain expression twists her face.

"tea, black tea, earl grey, chai. any kind." levi's eyes don't meet hers, too busy scanning her uniform. the robust characteristics taking up all of his attention until she speaks again. "um, can i get the chai?" a smile stretches across her face. "it's for my captain, she's not picky."

"your captain?" levi inquires, passing the box of tea over the thin wooden counter. the soldier nods, exchanging the currency in her hand for the tea. when she turns around there are other soldiers stalling, most likely waiting for her when levi glances over her shoulder, he sees your face again.

"your captain is. . .humanity's strongest?" levi already knows the answer however he asks anyway. "i've always wanted to meet her." levi never thought of himself as shy though the prospect of even being in your presence makes his stomach flutter with trepidation. the woman nods again, her smile brighter than before. "really? i'll call her over for you." levi can't object, he can't shy away—not now. this is his moment to finally speak to you.

"captain! over here!"

Personally, when it comes to AUs, I think some people forget the purpose.

AU stands for Alternative "Universe". Meaning an Alternative Reality. Meaning an Alternative Perspective. An Alternative Story.

Yall have seen Spiderman Across, Beyond, Into (whatever) The Spiderverse, right? Yall have seen Invader Zim Into The Florpus, right? Yall have seen any iteration of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, right? Yall have seen Lego iterations of any series (like batman and harry potter) right?

And these are just official medias off the top of my head that breach alternative reality topics. I could talk about Undertale AUs for hours but I'm sure that'd turn many people's heads away, right?

Anyway-

The point is that these pieces of media have dabbled into alternative styles, looks, stories, perspectives, personalities, and settings while still staying loyal, true, and respectful to the original source. Yes, they are incredibly strong derivatives, but they're still good, no?

In Invader Zim Into The Florpus they showed alternative styles in which a medium of their characters can be explored in, that's good and I'm sure many people thoroughly enjoyed.

In Lego iterations, they almost never flop or fail. Yes, they are in the same setting and characters, but it is again another medium, different universe, personalities, dynamics, and stories. They are still respected parts of the franchise because of how true they are to the source material while having their own spin on it.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has a good handful of iterations throughout the years, and although Rise wasn't as loved (it deserved better, so much better) it was still good. No matter which iteration you watch, while in the same setting and with the same characters, each iteration is so widely different because the stories, plot, and even some characters, are so vastly different. Don't get me started on art style and designs. They are still the same people (mutants), but they explore different paths and stories with the same characters.

Into, Across, Beyond The Spiderverse is a good well-respected, and renowned source of media for this topic for its incredible take on how to explore different universes, how to respect the source, and still keep things interesting by having their own spin on things with the plot, story, and new characters.

These are all incredible examples of exploring alternative universes, takes, and iterations of a piece of media. Why aren't any of them as bad and horrific as the new My Little Pony gen? Because they respect the source material, they make callbacks to it, and aren't leeching off or piggybacking off of the source. They're pouring time, love, and energy into a creative idea and the process of making a story.

Why is it okay for people to make Sans Undertale look so vastly different in almost every AU, but they can't do that in other medias? Why is it okay for those who made Beyond, Into, and Across The Spiderverse to just throw a pregnant woman, a trans girl, and a cartoon pig into a spider suit and get so much praise but someone can't explore the idea of gender-swapped (although I'm personally not a fan) color-swapped, and even alternative styles and mediums for their own take on a piece of media they enjoy?

What is the spirit of an Alternative Universe if not to explore an Alternative narrative, character designs, mediums, and so on?

What is the spirit of Art and Creativity if not to express one's self through their craft, if not to test out silly ideas, concepts, stories, and perspectives?

What is the harm in someone changing the Call of Duty Modern Warfare Three ending because it hurt them to see Soap die in such an unceremonious manner and this helps them cope with the official media?

What is wrong with exploring the original dark and tragic story that was the original Zootopia plot? It's nothing like the one we know, right?

The answer is nothing.

So i drew some fanart of @pompadorbz sorry boys "still wakes the deep" au ! I had fun with the more action filled drawings, and definetly wanna do more >:P

While drawing, i got to brainstorming about what character roles the boys might take in the story. Like, charlies probably caz, and maybe phil is caz's friend whos a cook (i forgot his name) but then i thought about if characters like Rennick had a coresponding cc, and i immediately thought about schlatt. So, i have ideas about what expanding the au might look like, but this isnt MY au, so for now ill hold off on yapping my ideas and just share what ive drawn for now

But either way, i REALLY enjoy this au and love all the ansgt potential it has. Like i was thinking, who out of the boys would end up being the last one? (Aka, taking caz's place at the end of the story with the lighter) and thought that, out of the boys, it would just make the most sense to be tommy. And thats HORRIBLE, AUGH ITS SO SAD but i LOVE IT

he feels overwhelmingly shy when you're close to him like this — bodies nearly touching as you lean closer to him on the campus shuttle. the football game being held that evening accounted for all of the people on the bus and the unusual proximity you were faced with now, as there were more people than accommodations the shuttle could account for. you murmured an apology as your shoulder knocked into him, and your hand brushed against his, electrifying warmth in contrast to the heatless railing. "we should have left earlier to beat the crowd," you suggested, but as wonwoo watches the softness of your lips shaping the almost conspiratorial commiseration and feels heat creep up the back of his neck, he can't help but think he'd like to be in a thousand cramped busses on a thousand crowded campuses just to be this close to you again, near enough to see the blemishes on your cheeks and the myriad emotions swirling in your eyes.

he cleared his throat, but his voice was still deep in his chest when he spoke. "i don't mind."

the comment was enough to pass his shyness to you, a triumph wonwoo would quietly revel in for the rest of the evening, as the both of you made it to your building, and at the hallway where you would part ways to make it to your respective dorm rooms, said a lingering farewell.

"we're still on for a study date on wednesday, right?"

a date. wonwoo still gets a particular kind of rush from you calling the mutual study sessions the two of you had a date, juvenile as that might sound. the ambiguity of it let him read into it what he would, and he rather liked to think that you enjoyed the vagueness of it, too, and that's why you insisted on calling them such.

"yes, of course. and, umm..." wonwoo wasn't sure what confidence spurned him on, but you took a step closer at his words — reaching back into his personal space just like you had on that campus shuttle, though there was no need for your proximity, now, other than that which you made for yourself. "coffee? after? only if you still want to, then, and it's not too late".

which it would be, of course. the both of your course and work schedules meant you only ever got to study together late in the evening, finishing only when the night came in close to blanket you both in sometime quiet and still. coffee at that hour would be laughable. the only thing more ridiculous than coffee after studying all night would be the impulse to consider asking if he could kiss you, or hold your hand, or listen to you ramble about your course load, or the professor you were warring with, or the every minutia of your life that wouldn't amount to much of anything, in the end, but the feeling that he was collecting little pieces of you that he could hold dear for as long as you'd allow.

but you were smiling something beautiful, the corners of your perfectly transfixing mouth stretching upward, cradling all the joy you were capable of holding as you agreed, "yeah... let's do it. coffee. i'd really like that."
