I so sorry, this is an awfully late answer! I got too busy with too many stuff anf time ran away without telling me >:(

So the Woodlands hybrid au!

It's a Pit Babe au focusing on AlanJeff (with occasional cameo of other pairings) where Jeff is a bunny hybrid living all alone at the edge of the forest and Alan is a wolf hybrid living with a pack in the forest. With Winter approaching, Jeff goes into the forest to forage the last of whatever nuts and berries he can find ton top off his winter stores, and stumbles across Alan.

Now hybrids don't prey on each other if they can help it, but wolf hybrids make others nervous just with their presence. Alan, who is one of the gentlest creatures in the entre forest, tries to make himself small and harmless looking when he suddenly sees the bun hybrid to not frighten them.

Except Jeff's lived alone for a long, long time and is accustomed to taking care of himself. And he's stumbled across plenty of big bad wolves over the years. He snarls and attacks Alan with his knife, injuring him and running away himself.

Alan nurses his injury over the winter, and come spring Jeff learns that his adopted brother Charlie has mated a wolf called Babe from the forest pack and will be holding the ceremony soon.

Jeff is sure Charlie's gone mad, but he has to there to support his brother, and help him escape if he comes to his senses at the last minute. And when he goes there for helping out at the ceremony, well, guess who's the pack leader of the wolf pack?

Mermaid AU

This is a KimKenta cetric fic with NorthSonic as side couple.

It's got quite a complicated plot to explain (and my hands are in pain from how much I've typed today T^T), but basically, Kenta's the (neglected) son of Tony, the village head of a seaside village.

The village has fallen on hard times, and Tony, to keep the support of villagers on him despite failed harvests and sea storms, proposes the wonderful idea to sacrfice his own son to the sea to appease the sea spirit (a la andromeda).

So they tie Kenta to a rock by the sea and leave him there for the sea to take him.

Kenta's sure he's gonna die, but then a siren, the one who lures sailors to death and eats their flesh, takes him away. Kenta's sure that he's still dying, but the siren, Kim, gives him fish to eat and takes him to a small cove in a tiny island and basically lets him be.

Anyway they fall for each other and upon advice of the neighbouring siren couple (aka northsonic), kim decides to court kenta.

But siren courting rituals are complicated, and just gitfs won't do (tho Kim gifts plenty of seashells and pearls and treasures from ships he's suck to Kenta)—there's a final gift, an eternal declaration of love that makes up the final step of siren courting rituals—the gift of a human heart.

Now, Kim has heard how harshly Kenta's father has treated him over the years, and decides the best gift for Kenta would be Tony's heart.

It ends with Kenta embracing the siren life (tho how a human becomes a siren is quite uhhhh.... let's say it'll have dead dove tags in ao3 so i'll not elaborate it here, th you're welcome to send me an ask or dm me about it if you want. be warned that it might be triggering-it involves cannibalism)

Anyway, the gift! In the episode Quack Pack!, I’ve always gotten the implication that other episodes have taken place in that universe that we don’t ever see, so I decided to write one! It takes place in a DT season 1 equivalent, so Della is nowhere to be found and Lena is under Magica’s control. But it’s still Quack Pack of course, so silly shenanigans and laugh tracks abound. (Also tumblr made the formatting a little wonky but I’ll try and fix it up when I post it to AO3)

Story under the cut!

[Fade In]

[Int: McDuck Manor Foyer. Lena is standing by the front door gathering her things after a sleepover, with Huey, Dewey, Louie, and Webby standing a few feet back. The boys are clumped together while Webby is stood slightly closer to Lena.]

Lena: Thanks for letting me stay the night, guys!

[She turns to pick up her backpack, which is open and showing a magic trick box set.]

Dewey: Oooh, what’s that?

[He points at the box.]

Lena: Oh, uh… I’ve just been… teaching myself some magic tricks. Yeah, magic tricks.

Webby: Ooh, can you show us some?

[Lena fidgets nervously but plays along with it.]

Lena: Uh, okay…. What do you want to see?

[She grabs the box out of her backpack.]

Dewey: Oh, Y’know what would be so cool? You should give us wings!

Huey: Dewey, I don’t think that’s what she means by magic tricks-

Louie: No, no, let’s let him be delusional.

[The audience chuckles.]

Lena: I can totally do that… if that’s what you want.

Dewey: Wing it on!

[He winks at the camera, and the audience laughs.]

[Lena pulls out a basic, cheap-looking black and white wand from the box.]

Lena: Here goes…

[She waves the wand around in a circle once, then twice. Unbeknownst to the rest of the cast, her amulet necklace starts glowing. The wand circles a third time, and she thrusts it forward towards Dewey and his brothers, producing a bright purple beam of magic.]

[Dewey sticks his arms out, as though he is accepting the magic.]

Dewey: Sha-Dewey!

[The audience laughs at the catchphrase as the beam strikes the triplets, creating a large poof of purple smoke obscuring the camera.]

[When the smoke clears, Huey, Dewey, and Louie have become fairies and are now barely visible due to their size. Lena and Webby both stare at the boys, shocked.]

Lena: Uhhhh… bye!

[She quickly turns and runs out the door. The audience laughs and the theme song begins.]

[The theme song ends and we go back to the foyer with Webby staring at Huey, Dewey, and Louie.]

Dewey: … I can’t believe that worked!

Louie: Nice going, Dingus, getting us stuck like this.

Webby:Are you guys alright?

Huey: Yeah, surprisingly so, considering we just grew two entirely new appendages out of our backs.

Dewey: I think you mean… Appendewges!

[The audience laughs.]

Huey and Louie: Shut up, Dewey.

[They both smack him on the back of the head, sending him spinning forward in the air and making the audience laugh harder.]

[Webby holds her hand out, inviting the boys to land on her palm, which they do.]

Webby: I can’t believe you guys are actually, like, fairies now! What’s it like?

Dewey: Oh my gosh, it’s so cool!

[As he says this, he flutters up into the air and does a floating backflip before landing again.]

I can fly, and my wings are so pretty!

[He wiggles his wings back and forth to show off the translucent blue patterns on them and the shimmering silvery fairy dust coming from them. The audience oohs at the sight.]

Huey: While I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s cool, it is fascinating how our bodies automatically adjusted to the change in height and shift to our centers of balance due to the wings on our backs.

[He loses his balance as he says the last line.]

Okay, maybe we haven’t totally adjusted.

[The audience laughs.]

Louie: The wings put massive rips in my favorite hoodie, so I’m not a fan.

[The audience laughs. His wings twitch, causing some gold fairy dust to come off of them.]

Ooh, the gold is nice, though.

Webby: If you’re actually fairies now, I wonder if you guys have any other abilities. In a lot of folklores, fairies were mischievous spirits that had all sorts of abilities they could use to play tricks on people.

[Dewey’s eyes light up.]

Dewey: Say less!

[He makes a comically intense face of concentration before his tail suddenly turns into that of a tiger, which he swishes back and forth excitedly.]

[The audience oohs and then applauds, while Louie chuckles, then smirks.]

Louie: You should totally try turning it into a snake next.

[As though under a trance, Dewey’s expression drops and his tiger’s tail instantly morphs into the head of a snake. It turns around and hisses at him as he snaps out of the trance, causing him to jump up and try and run in a circle away from the snake. The audience laughs hard.]

[Huey rolls his eyes and mutters to himself.]

Huey: Get me away from these lunatics.

[The camera cuts to a more zoomed out shot from above where we can see Webby looking down at the action in her palm.]

Webby: Huey? Where’d you go?

[The camera cuts back to an empty shot of where Huey was on Webby’s palm.]

Huey: What? I’m right here.

Webby: I can’t see you at all though…

Huey: I know I’m short now, but I’m not that short!

[The audience laughs.]

[The camera cuts back to Louie and Dewey, who we can see is still being terrorized by his tail in the background.]

Louie: Wait, Huey- flutter your wings.

[The camera cuts back to the empty shot, where some shimmery bronze fairy dust appears seemingly from nowhere.]

Webby: Oh my gosh, Huey! You’re invisible!

Huey: I- I am? I can still see myself! How do I change back??

Webby: We should ask the rest of the family what to do. I’m sure they’ll know how to help!

[As Webby finishes speaking, Uncle Scrooge walks into the room.]

Scrooge: Aye, Webby darlin’, I heard you were wanting ma help?

[The audience cheers wildly when he speaks.]

Webby: Yeah, Uncle Scrooge! Huey, Dewey, and Louie got turned into fairies and I don’t know how to help them!

Scrooge: Bless me bagpipes, that is serious! We need to get going right away… to the library!

[The crowd laughs and cheers as the scene transitions to…]

[Int: Library interior. Scrooge is standing at the head of a table surrounded by bookshelves. Standing behind the chair closest to him on the right side of the table is Webby. Also standing around the table are Donald and Mrs. Beakley.]

Scrooge: Alright everybody, we’ve got a lot of work to do to help the boys, so let’s get moving! Go, go, go!

[A research montage begins with the characters pulling books off shelves, flipping through pages, and consulting library signs to a detective movie style remix of the series theme song. Donald drops a comically large stack of books on his head, making the audience laugh. The montage ends with a camera shot set up in the space between two books, and Mrs. Beakley shoves a book back into the space on the button of the music. As the screen goes dark, the scene snaps back to…]

[Int: McDuck Manor Foyer. Huey, Dewey, and Louie remain floating about where they were before. Louie is laid back in the air as though he’s relaxing on a lounge chair, Huey has successfully become visible again and is stood hovering near Louie, and Dewey has just now gotten his tail back to normal and plods over to his brothers and sits on the air, breathing heavily.]

Dewey: Never (inhale) do that (inhale) to me (inhale) again (inhale).

Louie: It was funny though.

[He smirks at the camera and the audience laughs and some swoon.]

[Huey sits down as well.]

Huey: How did Webby describe fairies again? We’re trickster spirits, right?

Louie: I can see why, with all these powers.

Dewey: Y’know I’ve missed playing pranks on people.

Huey: We have been pretty busy lately…

[Louie stands up and holds his hand out towards Huey and Dewey.]

Louie: Then whaddaya say we take advantage of all this fairy stuff while we have it?

[Huey and Dewey glance at each other, then smirk and grab Louie’s hand. The audience cheers.]

[The camera cuts to a more zoomed out shot of the foyer, where we can see Huey, Dewey, and Louie all flying off screen as the audience continues cheering. The scene shifts to…]

[Int: Garage. Launchpad is going about setting up instruments for the Crash Happies’ rehearsal.]

Launchpad: Oooookay! There’s the drum set.

[Huey, Dewey, and Louie fly up to a cracked open window visible on the far left of the shot. They giggle between themselves then slip into the room one by one.]

[Huey lands on the cymbal of the drumset and turns invisible. The camera cuts back to a shot of the full room with Launchpad as Huey begins to dance on the cymbal, making it rattle “inexplicably”.]

[Launchpad turns around in confusion.]

Launchpad: Bwuh?

[Dewey and Louie then fly up to Launchpad’s ear. Louie puts on a deep voice and begins incomprehensibly whispering in his ear while Dewey watches.]

Launchpad: Ah! Who are you?! Show yourself!

[He flails around in a panic.]

[The camera cuts to Dewey, who flies over from Louie to the cymbal with Huey. He turns invisible as well, and they begin to jump back and forth on it, almost like a seesaw. In the background, Launchpad continues to freak out.]

Launchpad: I haven’t even crashed into anything cursed yet today!

[The camera cuts back to a shot of the full room. Launchpad is laying in the fetal position on the ground with his expression comically terrified. The cymbal of the drum continues to rattle back and forth.]

Launchpad: Ahhh!!!

[The door to the garage opens, revealing the rest of the Crash Happies.]

Crash Happy Drummer: Launchpad?

[The audience laughs, cheers, and applauds as the ad break begins.]

[He excitedly slams the book he’s reading down onto the table.]

Librarian: (Offscreen) Shhh!!!

Scrooge: (Whispered) Aha! I’ve got it!

[He slams the book down again quietly. The audience laughs.]

[Webby, Donald, and Beakley gather around the book to see what Scrooge found.]

Scrooge: The boys would have to agree to this, but we should be able to turn them back by having them relinquish their fairy dust.

Donald: Well, what are we waiting for?! Let’s get back to the mansion!

[He throws his hands up and accidentally knocks over one of the piles of books, causing several books to hit him on the head. The audience laughs.]

Librarian: (Offscreen) Shhhh!!!!

Scrooge: (To librarian) Sorry! (To family) Let’s go.

[The shot does a sliding transition to…]

[Int: McDuck Manor Foyer. Scrooge, Donald, Beakley, and Webby stand just inside the front door on the far left of the shot showing an empty foyer.]

Beakley: … Aaaaand they’ve disappeared.

Donald: (Panicking) How could this happen?!

Beakley: Well, fairies are famously mischievous spirits…

Webby: … And with Huey, Dewey, and Louie’s love of pranks…

Scrooge: … There’s every likelihood that they’re off somewhere causing chaos.

[Donald faints from stress and hits the floor with a thud, making the audience laugh.]

[Scrooge bends down to pick Donald up.]

Beakley: Well, if they’re not here, we’re going to need to lure them to us. What attracts a fairy?

Webby: Fairies usually are drawn to sugary foods and shiny objects. They also typically avoid urban, polluted areas, but since Huey, Dewey, and Louie aren’t normal fairies they might not have any issue with that.

[A beat of silence.]

Scrooge: Curse me kilts, how did you learn all that, Webby?

Webby: Uhh… cute girl stuff?

[The audience laughs and cheers at her catchphrase and Scrooge and Beakley shrug and accept her response.]

Donald: (Drowsily) Funso’s.

[The others all stare at him, confused]

Donald: Put all that stuff in Funso’s and I don’t think the boys would be able to resist.

[They all share a look of agreement and the camera cuts to…]

[Int: The marina. Huey, Dewey, and Louie are flying around messing with people on the boardwalk.]

[Dewey suddenly stops in the air.]

Dewey: Guys, wait… we should go to Funso’s.

[Huey and Louie also stop.]

Huey: Actually yeah, that sounds really good.

Louie: (Getting more and more and more giddy as he speaks) And with this size I could practically swim in Pep!. Let’s do it!

[They quickly fly the short distance from the boardwalk to Funso’s. They enter the building and are greeted by their family standing around a circle of Pep!, candy, and gold coins.]

Webby: I told you guys it would work!

Donald: Boys! We found a way to turn you back to normal!

[Huey, Dewey, and Louie exchange a hesitant look]

Dewey: What if… we don’t want to?

Huey: Yeah…, as weird as it’s been to be fairies, it’s also been a lot of fun.

Louie: What they said.

[A brief, tense silence occurs, the camera framing the scene to look like a standoff between Huey, Dewey, and Louie, and their family.]

Scrooge: Ay, boys, I know it may be a lot of fun to be fairies right now. And trust me, I’ve dealt with many magical shenanigans like this in my years, the fun never lasts. It’s always more worth it to keep the brief fun memories than to have them tainted by getting bored or suffering the consequences of your own magic.

[Huey, Dewey, and Louie exchange another look.]

Huey: Okay. What do we need to do?

Beakley: (Pulling out three vials from behind her back) Just shake some of your fairy dust into these vials. Once we close them up, the rest of the fairy dust should remove itself from your systems, turning you back to normal.

[The boys fly up to Beakley. Huey flutters forward, and Beakley holds out the first vial. He shakes some fairy dust into the vial’s mouth, then goes back to his brothers. Beakley holds out the next vial, and Dewey does the same thing. Louie flutters up to the last vial, but pauses.]

Louie: Wait! Can I do one last thing before we do this?

[The camera cuts to a shot of Louie swimming around in a cup of Pep!. The audience laughs loudly.]

Louie: Aaaaah… it’s better than I ever dreamed!

Donald: Come on, Louie.

Louie: Alright, alright.

[The camera cuts back to the shot from before. Louie flutters back to the vial and shakes some of his fairy dust inside as well.]

Louie: (To Huey and Dewey) Well, it’s been real.

Dewey: Indewbitably!

Huey and Louie: Shut up, Dewey.

[As Huey and Louie smack the back of Dewey’s head, Beakley corks the three vials, and a poof of purple smoke obscures the camera. When the smoke clears, Huey, Dewey, and Louie are sitting on the floor, drowsily leaning on each other, no longer fairies.]

Donald: Boys!

[He runs up and bear hugs them, picking them up off the floor.]

Louie: (Feeling his hoodie’s fabric wet with Pep! and touching the tears in its back) Eugh, my hoodie’s ruined!

[Dewey takes a step forward but stumbles, and grabs Huey’s shoulder to catch himself, startling Huey and nearly pulling them both down. The audience laughs.]

Webby: You guys probably overexerted yourselves while you were fairies. You might’ve had the energy for all that flying and magic then, but your normal bodies don’t.

Beakley: Let’s get you three home and changed, and you can sleep.

[She hands the boys each their vials, now full to the top with their respective fairy dusts.]

Louie: I cannot get to bed fast enough!

Huey and Dewey: Ditto.

[The door to Funso’s closes behind the family as they exit. The audience cheers for the happy ending.]

[Fade Out]

[Int: Garage. Launchpad is now putting everything away after the Crash Happies have left rehearsal. The scene quickly shrinks to a small window so the credits can roll.]

Launchpad: (Seeing the scene shrink) Aaah! The ghosts are back! And they shrunk the room!

☮ - friendship headcanon

Hmmm.

I've been thinking a lot lately about Dusk and his friendships with the Scions as of 6.55. He considers himself at least friends with all of them, of course, but how close they are varies pretty widely.

I'm going to try not to be TOO wordy, but I'll do a cut anyway. Also if there's anyone who doesn't want to know who all the Scions are by 6.55, um ... don't click.

He trusts them all with his life, to be clear, but ... he feels like Y'shtola and Thancred in particular hold him at arm's length. And he finds himself feeling conflicted about G'raha semi-regularly. He likes the guy, but every time he has a little bout of hero worship, Dusk can't help but pull back a bit.

Krile isn't one of the close Scions either, but I expect that'll change significantly in Dawntrail. Their distance is more a matter of not having much time to get closer, shunted off to the side as Krile's been in the MSQ. The one really significant thing Dusk's done with Krile is Eureka and uhhhh ... I never actually finished Eureka, so it's not quite canon for him anyway.

Dusk feels protective of Tataru, but at the same time, I don't think she's someone who springs to mind for him when he is full of feelings and needs to unload them somewhere. So a friend! But not a close one, even after all this time. Great business partner though, he'll do capitalism with her anytime.

The twins (sorry for lumping you two together, guys) are in their own category too. He's close to them, but it's the sort of close a much older person has with a young adult that looks up to them. He's about as old as their dad, you see. So while they could absolutely come to him with anything, and he would do his best to support them in whatever way they need ... it's one-way, by his choice. They're still so young and have already been through so much, he'd rather eat glass than have them hear about some of the heavy shit he thinks and worries about.

Urianger, I have realized, has somehow become one of Dusk's closer friends in the Scions, and I'm not even sure how it happened. All I know is, during Endwalker, Urianger kept confiding in Dusk, and Dusk found that he felt extremely comfortable with the idea of confiding in him right back, so I guess they're close now? I can't explain it well, yet it ... really works for me, so I'm keepin' it!

Dusk and Estinien think they're subtle and still come across as Just Bros. They are incorrect, they have been incorrect about this for years. Even so, they are bros. You know how Estinien is all Ishgard Intense about how he is ride or die for the WoL, how he's always pledging his spear, or saying he will absolutely ruin anyone you send him at (I'm pretty sure that's his version of a marriage proposal, btw)? Dusk feels exactly as intense about him.

OH MY GOD ELLE SORRY THIS IS SO LATE!!! IT WAS VERY COOL!!!!! VERY SURREAL!!!!!! I've taken a week to answer this but uhhhh yes I am in fact home now 🥰 I got home at like 1 am which was cool....

First of all I have to mention this! I was fighting for my life walking thru the Austin airport(from sleep deprivation), and I had my Fernando hat on my backpack, right? Some girl comes up to me and asks if I'm going to the GP, I say yes. SHE GAVE ME A FRIENDSHIP BRACELET, I COULD'VE SOBBED 🥹 It says on it "wtf is a km", I'm still so happy

COTA was the first race I ever watched, so to be actually at that track and watch a race live there was extremely surreal! Very hot though my god 😵‍💫 I think last year it was pretty hot, right? And my brother kept sending me the temp and it was pretty okay, and then of fucking course the temp leaps up to 89-97°(31-36° Celsius btw) right in time for the gp....so that was nice(I say as I burn in the sun like a vampire. But don't worry I didn't even really tan at all 😭 I always wore a hat and a lot of sunscreen. And meanwhile my brother was literally a lobster)

So unfortunately I missed the drivers parade because my brother and I were dying on Saturday night and his friends wanted to go first thing in the morning, and we're like "we will go later actually 😊" and missed it entirely 😭😭😭 but his friends took pics of Mclaren and Aston for me!!!!! But unfortunately I havent gotten them still, so I'll have to reblog this later with those! I took a lot of pictures of the cars I took from behind the fence, which I think I've posted some of? Lmk if anyone wants those!! They're very random, I just thought it was very surreal to see the cars flying past, so I took a million.

The coolest part was definitely running on track after the race was over!!! Soooooo surreal, and so I'm only gonna post pics rn from Sunday(bcs pic limit on phone) and also I think everything else kinda pales in comparison(but of course lmk if there's anything you're interested in seeing 🤭)

Okay and did I see any drivers...? ONLY ONE BUT AAAAHHHH I DID SEE LANDO!!! Not even one of my favs but it was soooooo surreal to see him, even from afar. As you can see above, everyone standing on the fences was blocking the view 🙄, but during the podium, I was focusing my camera btwn their legs and got literally one second of Lando 😭 I think its a pretty aesthetic clip, so I gifed it!!

It was so funny, I went to the gp with my brother and friends, so all these older guys yeah. And I was showing this off to them on the ride home, and his one friend was praising me so much for it 😭😭 like: "oh my god!!!! You could put this in an edit !!! This is so sick!!!!"

Oh one other thing!!! I think I've mentioned it before but my god, my favorite f1 podiums are always the ones with confetti, right?? AND THERE WAS CONFETTI AT THIS RACE!!!

LOOK AT HOW PRETTYYYYY!!!! And so anyways, I picked up so much confetti off the ground and now it lives forever in my phone case 🥰🥰🥰 I have no other room for pics on this post(for now) but oh my godddddddddd most of the confetti were just rectangles BUT THERE WAS ALSO ONES SHAPED LIKE TEXAS!!! SO COOL!!!!! And I also picked up a bunch of tire marbles off the ground!!! And a piece of plastic that probably came off some car. It was so funny when all of us were just scrounging off the ground. My bro's one friend somehow found a piece of carbon fiber, and we're all like "how can I kill him in his sleep and steal this from him..." But no the highlight actually of that process was watching my brother sprint to the podium, but stopping and grabbing a bunch of gravel first to shove in his pocket 😭😭😭

The other two days were fun as well, but also a lot of just dying in the heat and drinking a fuckton of red bull, so there's not too much specifically to say! I really liked hearing the cars. I think if you wanna know what's actually going on in a race, watching from home is better, but hearing the cars go by and seeing them is just so fucking sick. It was so funny to see grown men be like "I think I'm going to cry hearing these cars." I was really flexing on them with "uhhh yeah I've already been to a gp already 🙄🙄"

Anyways I ended the day by breaking bank by buying my dad and myself Fernando shirts because he is of course Fernando's biggest fan 🥰🥰 and I bought the most delicious overpriced lemonade, which I only drank half of bcs my brother proceeded to accidentally elbow it out of my hand....

OH WAIT ONE MORE DETAIL LOL. On Friday, my brother and his friend were waiting in line for smth and I was talking to them outside of the barrier. I look down, hmm theres a red cap abandoned on the ground, I pick it up, it is in fact a Ferrari hat. And that is how my brother acquired a $40+ dollar hat for free. Lucky bastard....I was the who found it!

i had noooo idea I've been posting mostly filipino fics of late, that's amazing 😂 but in conclusion conclusion the thing about me is that I think my most natural opening is a dialogue but because I'm aware of that, I think that's the reason why I've shied away from it bc there's an imaginary audience at the back of my head pointing a finger at me and laughing. like "haha look it's a one-trick pony" and here I am whirling to my shadow and saying "no I'm not!!!!"

BUT so I was expecting at least one dialogue starter in all of these fics but it turns out that has never been the case lmao. but also like, so when my sister was still in college, she taught me about "in medias res" which really stuck to me because I thought it was the most natural way of things. time is flowing, every beginning could be a middle or an end of something and it also resolves the problem of having to build up something before you get to the meat. like biting into a sandwich with the main filling bunched up in the middle or smth

and I guess that's affected my style, too? like something's always already happening, enough for the perspective to make an observation, or the action is already happening.

which makes me sound smarter than I really am but I never said I was qualified to analyze my own works in the first place 🤣

hello! it has been a long time since i've talked through my day! this one had such a big turnaround that i needed to document it, mostly for myself.

i had an appointment with a 'root canal specialist' today bc i had my first app with my new dentist a couple of weeks ago and his xray revealed an abscess wow how fun :) i couldn't feel it bc that tooth has a decade old root canal so there are no nerves to reveal there is anything going on!! fun!!!! he's a super nice dentist, i like him but he made me very panicked lol he was showing me how close it is to my sinuses on the xray. so he was like 'go see this guy asap' bc he wanted to know whether there was a chance my old root canal could be redone or if i'd have to get the whole tooth removed/an implant, all for the low low price of $5-6000 🙃 but obviously you can never see specialists asap!!! so i've been walking around for 2.5 weeks with dread/phantom pains that by the time i saw him the infection would've spread and idk had catastrophic consequences??? and then today when i went there was CONSTRUCTION at the turn i needed to make and the road was closed and i was like i don't know how to get there from another street??!?!?!??! i spent 10 minutes driving through suburban streets and my navigation kept trying to take me back to the original route with the closed road, and its the middle of town so there was nowhere i could just temporarily stop and look at the map, and i called them almost crying to let them know i'm coming but i might be late bc i just can't navigate these streets jegjkdgkjdkg

anyway i MADE it, i think i parked in another business's parking lot and just hoped they didn't care lol and then the lady at the desk was like 'our other specialist will have to see you bc the guy you're here for isn't here' so i was feeling uhhhh not good after my dentist talked him up so much. AND my dentist didn't send over my electronic referral and i had LITERALLY been stressed that he would forget to do exactly that for the whole 2.5 weeks oh my god, thankfully they didnt even seem to care. but then as i was filling out the paperwork in the waiting room 'no judgment' came on, and then 'wolves' right after??? and i was like this seems deliberate to try and calm me down 😂 and when the substitute specialist called me in he was so extremely calming and talked me through my options, one of which is indeed to try and redo the root canal bc he's confident he can, it would still cost a lot but wayyyyy less. he also said i could 'do nothing' (which is obv risky, and i would never do nothing, but that made me realise my infection is not about to bust through and spread across my sinuses any second, one fear down!). he was just softly spoken and super relaxed and he made me feel like this was not in fact a crisis and said i could go and think about what i wanted to do, and just call for an appointment when i decided. and then when i went out to pay 'i want to write you a song' was playing 😭 i asked the receptionists if there was a 1d fan in the house and one of them said it must just be a random playlist on spotify, so this was all a complete coincidence????? i told them i was enjoying it very much.

anyway long story short i had already taken the rest of the afternoon off work to go work in the garden, but figured there was a good chance i'd be so down about an unexpected and immiment $5000 hit that i wouldn't want to do anything, but i drove home feeling extremely reassured that i had options and i was not on the clock to decide, and also very relaxed by 1d playing in the background the entire time. i have also been extremely stressed that i would need to take the next step asap and this would be such a bad time as mum is working 50 hour weeks right now bc of the referendum, so i am on caring duty with nonna/nonno anytime we don't have carers here. but there's time! i had a v good afternoon in the garden after all!

First, because "The Twilight Aristocracy" is such an evocative term for Prohibition-era gay men/queer people. Second, it could be taken as a hint about Ben becoming a vampire as well as him coming to terms with being bisexual in 1930s/40s America.

Ben got into being a thug for Prohibition smugglers and brewers/distillers starting in his teen years. Luckily, instead of going on to commit increasingly violent crimes or winding up in prison, Ben fell in with Desmond Walsh, a former cowboy turned vampire and community leader. Also, notably, gay af. Through him, Ben came into contact with people from all walks of life and uhhhh used his skills at fisticuffs for protecting his friends as well as for profit. Anyway, hanging out with so many different people really broadened his horizons and got him to consider his own gender and sexuality as a young man. By the time he was in his late 20s and became one of Desmond's vampire fledglings, Ben had unlocked cis+ and was on his way to becoming feared by the Coven not only for his viciousness in a fight, but for seducing agents away from the cause.

ARTHUR MORGAN & NICK GRIMES, i've only ever played about twenty minutes of RDR2, but i know it's about cowboys and crimes, !!!! we could easily fit nick in there somewhere, possibly follow my canon for him in his usual canon and have him looking for his missing father after they were separated due to unfortunate circumstances. nick'd range anywhere from 12 - 18 for this i think? keeping him a " kid ", cause i like the idea of him being " the kid ". maybe arthur could help with reuniting them? alternatively we could put arthur in the walking dead, which is probably also pretty easy ! hm, cowboy in a modern apocalypse? oh man, have him find and take in a kid nick grimes after he gets separated from his dad? yeah that'd be some good shit, arthur could teach him how to shoot if he'd be down, since nick when he's young doesn't know how to shoot a gun, and usually just wanders around with a bat.

ok so first of the dash itself. the two main tabs: Following and For You. most people tend to use Following, which is why reblogging is so important in this site. i kind of treat reblogging as i would likes on twitter. it means more people can see the lovely art, and you get a copy on ur blog!! also, people tend not to add comments, instead they treat the tags when reblogging like comments. specifically the tags, not actually adding to the post. that’s normally used if you have something to add to the post.

also following quite a few people is important to get the dash moving!! since you probably only follow a few people it will be very slow at the moment, but as you follow more, it weill speed up!!! i follow 600 ish people and have a new post on my dash every minute or so i’ll send you a list of good blogs to follow in another ask probs!!

there’s also dash settings!! if you want the tumblr experience of just the Following tab, i’d turn off the preferences “Best Stuff first” “include posts liked by the blogs you follow” “include based on your likes” and “include followed tag posts” but AGAIN THIS IS ALL PREFERENCE. this is just what i prefer but play around!!! there’s also the interface settings, and i tend to keep all of them on!!

anyway that was mildly badly explained but THE BLOG ITSELF!!! my favourite feature is the tagging systems you can create!!! under blog settings you can add ‘features tags’ aka tags you can search your blog for. people tend you use them so you can find someone’s original posts in one place, art in one place, or to save posts they really enjoy!! ld recommend creating an art and original post tags so freaks like ME can easily enjoy your art.

and i’d add the whole don’t leave ur blog default spiel or people with think you are a bot but you’ve already changed that up!!!

oh also bots. bots can be a big problem on this site! if you get followed by a blog with a default pfp and strange names, like actual human names and a random amount of numbers or just a keyboard spam, report as a bot and block!!! however lately there haven’t been many bots around for me.

bruh lowkey having a mental breakdown rn, I’m supposed to be joining this orchestra and my “first” rehearsal is today since I applied late. But ummm basically I emailed my recording yesterday which was Monday,n they wanted it by the end of the week (I.e. Sunday)

I haven’t gotten a reply from them at all n so I sent another message a while ago whether or not I shld come tonight and a small apology in case my delay caused any inconvenience….

But I lowkey dont want to go cos I feel bad n also cos my stupid self said that I can come in next week instead… now my mum is like “wat I thought you’re going today” so I’m kinda lying by saying yea i hvny gotten a reply yet. If I don’t get one by 5:45/6 then I’ll go next week ya

And I can tell that I’m getting on her nerves….
