so i was complaining talking to my dad about the suffering that is the renewal void, and he agreed that it would be a bit nonsensical for max to-

push physical merch on their site

create a bunch of custom icons for users on their site

put so much effort into marketing s2, to the point of putting spots on tv, hanging up gigantic billboards, and spreading teasers all across social media

-if they had no intention to see the show all the way through.

which was ✨validating✨ coming from an outside party, because it's something i've been thinking this whole time. now, granted, i don't trust streaming services, and stranger things have happened, buuuuut idk. it really seems like there's a part of them that realizes ofmd is a large, important property to them, but we shall seeeeeee,,,

YES okay, this is gonna be a bit long! To start off, I'm assuming you're familiar with this post by u/afro_eden, and some of their other recent posts, talking about the last emperor of Battahl and them doing inquiries into mysterious ore (potentially glimmercoal) that used to fuel ancient Battahli civilization ~2000 years ago. SO!!

Based on the journals of prisoner Bekresos, there are 2 things that'll factor into a revelation regarding Beren: 1- people attempted to spread the truth about the Lambent Flame not being quite what it had been presented as under emperor Faleri, likely even longer. And 2- that this happened at least 16+ years ago... It seems Faleri was likely corrupt in general, so that + any whispers of doubt towards the Lambent Flame, I can only imagine there'd be Battahli people who'd become a little disillusioned, potentially even choosing to leave for Vermund, hint hint.... Beren would've been around for Faleri's rule for sure....

NOW for the actual bits about Beren!! At the hot springs, he gave me some very interesting idle dialogue....

WOW!!!! I think he can say this during other points, I believe since then I've seen him say it when he returns to his childhood home, BUT!! I'd been pondering this dialogue April and what it could possibly mean, and seeing that reddit post made me have a huge aha moment!! Later the same day, I just happened to do his escort quest....

As mentioned in the reddit post, there are stone monuments denoting places Faleri had sent Bekresos and his team to excavate/research. What I feel they didn't mention, however, is that all of these monuments point directly to caves. Literally pointing, with the pickaxes depicted on them lol. Some are however, placed a little further down the road, as if to section it off and permit entry. (This one is the most obvious, pointing straight at Dimdark Cave, Enoa'Battahl Cavern is another one that has a monument slightly up the road from it.)

I always wondered why Beren requested to go to a cave.... It didn't make total sense to me. But lo and behold.... ONE OF THE MONUMENTS!! Just a little ways away, pointing up the path to Beren's destination! This lead me to the conclusion that a younger Beren must've heard the rumors and began to doubt his faith in the Lambent Flame, perhaps only subconsciously, thus his comment about not being quite sure about how his faith waned. As if the rumors just unsettled him over time? Maybe moving back to Battahl reignited his questioning and made him desire to seek out answers for himself, going straight to one of the dig sites.

I also wonder if him growing Moonglow has something at all to do with this.... It's a very mysterious thing in it's own right!! Maybe it has something to do with glimmercoal as a fertilizer (i have a pet theory that glimmercoal could BE parts of the moon), or maybe it's just a little easter egg that Beren's "in the know". But yes!! That's everything I think, and I hope this makes sense!!

if you just like leo’s character better than you like raph’s, that’s fine! if you just like it better when leo is leader, that’s fine! i have no issue!

but we need to stop trying to circle that leadership change back to somehow being about better or worse or ~more cut out for it~ because it sucks to throw the great job raph did through the series under the bus in order to prop up leo’s good qualities. 

they’re both great leaders. they both have strong suits and weak suits in the role, they both have growth and development when they’re in that role. they BOTH make on-screen mistakes in that role and aren’t very good at it at first! not getting a more in-depth explanation about it in the movie or series stinks and it’s very interesting to explore, but seriously.

Digitalised + coloured + redesigned version of my Suiren and Vaatu sketch from two days ago, as promised!!

Coming up with Suiren’s design was a very long process of trying and failing because after you’ve drawn 9+ different versions of one character, the creativity starts to run a little dry, but I’m actually really proud of this one, she looks absolutely adorable <3

(Also yeah I did mostly just scribble Vaatu’s pattern because who has the energy to draw the all out accurately. Not me, that’s who, I’m chronically tired. People who draw him on the regular have my utmost respect. He’s still a funky little guy though :D)

on this late night i am thinking incredibly hard about how, when faced with a choice between preventing a new friend from harm + clearing up a misunderstanding and choosing the path that would potentially find him a cure for his catatonic friend, zack recalled marlene's words of saying that aerith liked cloud, and of course she did, because he (zack) wasn't there. hadn't been there for a long time

and after recalling these words and grasping at the ribbon tied around his hand, zack ultimately decides that by taking the right-hand path he can, with some luck, fulfill two of his own desires - 1) potentially seeing his friend cloud healed and healthily awake again, and 2) making sure that aerith will be able to be happy when she wakes if he succeeds the first part. he has not and will not let go of his adoration and love for her, but if cloud is seemingly what makes her happy in this bizarre world he's found himself in, he'll choose that option in a heartbeat, because her happiness means the world to him even if it means accepting that he's not the focus of it anymore. he just loves her so much . oh i'm in pain. zack fair the man that you are

"Is truth dead?" A question I often ask myself. I never claimed to be a poet, and I still think I am nowhere near one. But I want to be eloquent at least once to show it's possible.

I am not the brute people claim me to be; I'm sure you know that well. You, of all people, would. 

Truth in itself is a sticky notion, though forgive me for my speech. I'm just an ex-delinquent playing as someone more refined. This may sound forced, and it kind of is. But I'm getting ahead of myself here. 

Looking into a mirror and opening your eyes, what do you see? A stranger's reflection? The cold blue of your skin as reality sets in? Or maybe I am talking myself in circles, assuming you are like me. I'm not always sure, and I hope you understand.

I am writing as I think, so forgive me for the erratic topics. But knowing you, you are probably enjoying reading my thoughts. I know it's quite hard to figure out what I am thinking at any given time. It is a purposeful act, a role I take on. I'm sure you know why, in a metaphorical sense, it seems to be my truth.

I have always liked metaphors, an audience, and the dramatics. I don't seek it out anymore, but does my profession not say enough? 

Truth is like a choir of voices; its movements alternate between hasty snaps and a sickly slow progression. Relationships are built so heavily on something so easily fickle, something that evolves through language and texts throughout space and time. Emphasis on time. It's almost character. 

When you put a character in a situation, do you go in knowing the mood? The atmosphere? The symbols? Or do they come to you? 

I know you are not much of a writer, but your affinity for stories does endear me. 

Stories. Possibly the most common way to hide the truth. Tell me, when we next talk face to face, will you tell me the truth this time? I'm sure you know what I'm talking about. You have to.

I'm yours if you say forever; you just have to speak. I want to hear something others can't. There is something my subconscious tells me constantly.

milkvan are so much against byler that they deny will is gay (for them he maybe is bi or just no one said anything on him being gay lmao) AND , the most hilarious thing, they say that will is just confused on his feelings on mike because it’s just a teen infatuation he’s just mistaking it with a real love . someone give milkvan first of all a page on google with all the interviews with the cast on will being gay and second, someone ask milkvan if they are in will byers’ mind or better they are in duffers’ mind since they know better than them what to do with those feelings.

also it’s incredible how they say “bylers wouldn’t make sense!1!!1!11!1!!1” but for them it would make sense to end a show like st with a fucking prom set up in the future , it’s like a show/videogame like tlou end the same way since it’s all about desperation and sadness and yes, st is like this even if it is set in a different way milkvan have to understand this is not their romcom
