you are a different level of calm, your fans had just realized, and to prove it, here you are, watching your members go crazy as you peacefully eat your brownies.

"y/n! sing love, maybe by melomance!" shotaro suddenly yells out, glancing over at the still quiet you as you continue to chew on your brownies. you snicker at the words, a dumb smile coming to your face. "i don't know the lyrics" yeah, that's a lie, you sang it before for an evaluation, but that's a secret you prefer to hide.

"there's no way! didn't you perform it once for an evaluation when we were trainees—" you place your finger on jung sungchan's lips with a small grimace, hoping that none of the fans watching the live heard the words. "my voice isn't warmed up yet, chan. bear with me, hm?"

sending a knowing look to your fellow 01 liner, you calmly leave his personal space and make your way back to your plate of brownies, but your members seem to be adamant on the request, seeing how you haven't sang since the whole live started.

"c'mon n/n! seok will even duet with you if you like!"

"no thank you".

"please! i'll make you more brownies!"

"...how many more brownies?"

"five!"

"..fine, you have a deal".

the eldest of riize grins at his victory, nodding his head to seal the deal with you. "alright! so two songs for five more brownies?" you stare at your older member, contemplating whether to accept the offer.

"fine, what's the other song though?"

"spring breeze?"

"and sing it with eunseok hyung!" anton cheers, chuckling in excitement as he watches you sigh in defeat. "why do you guys want me to sing so bad?" you mumble, clearing your throat as you allow seunghan to pull you to your feet. you feel shotaro drag you to the center, and you swear your soul left your body in that very moment.

"goddamnit.."

"it's just two songs y/n" says wonbin, who seems to come out of nowhere. he laughs upon seeing your defeated sigh, and leans forward to press a kiss to your cheek.

you groan in faux annoyance at the kiss you received from your friend. "ugh, stop kissing my cheeks, i swear wonbin" the 02 liner chuckles lightly, pressing another one to spite you more. you yelp, wriggling your way out of the younger's embrace, hurrying your way over to the eldest of riize.

"let's just get this over with".

eunseok quickly took wonbin's place instead, his hands instinctively coming up to wrap around your waist. rubbing off the kiss marks wonbin had left with his thumb, the song raises an eyebrow in mild confusion. "where did you..?"

"park wonbin".

the second eldest chuckles in wry amusement, shaking his head as he continues to gently rub the kiss marks off. it was proven to be unsuccessful, so eunseok does what any sane person would do.

he huffs and replaces the kiss marks with his own.

you grimace, leaning your head away from eunseok, but the song just tightens his embrace. in the end, you just gave up, accepting the fact that you can't stop his onslaught of kisses.

"let's go!" shotaro's sudden english outburst snaps you out of your daze, he hands you a microphone, raising an eyebrow at the display.

"yeah.."

you are not looking forward to this.

you in fact did not like the outcome of your deal with the devil. (do note the sarcasm, shotaro is anything but the devil.) but at least eunseok was there to back you up, quite literally, because the song was seemingly attached to you, but you didn't mind; busy being fed the brownies the eldest had baked for you.

"hmph— hurmp!"

"eunseok, i think he's trying to say he wants you to stop temporarily" shotaro was kind enough to speak up, noticing your struggle, and you thank the lords. the song hums in mild amusement as he finally lets go of you, stopping with his continuous onslaught of brownie feeding.

you swallow the rest of the brownie in your mouth before speaking, "god, eunseok. that messed up my esophagus.."

you cough and reach out for some water, to which anton handed to you right away. "i thought you were hungry?" it was quite clear eunseok was enjoying constantly teasing you, and you frown.

you're tempted to flip off your 'friend'. "if you don't stop i'll literally—" just then, sohee came bounding in with a bright smile. "spring breeze!!" you had no choice but to pat his head before taking the microphone.

you knowingly send a look to the older, who gets the message instantly, you bring the mic up to your lips as the song starts. "is it you, the spring wind that blows in half a year, my heart is warm, will you come today. when the sun rises, it just seems to have disappeared".

you laugh to yourself, a small smile making it's way to your lips as you make eye contact with the camera—over dramatizing your performance. "somewhere, somehow, let's meet someday, i'm loneliness, still short, you can grow a little, 'cause i'm better at waiting than loving someone you come to me like the spring breeze".

you feel a familiar arm rest on your shoulder before a certain someone closes the gap between your bodies. "your face, your tone, everything, i miss you so i always wait".

you let eunseok do his thing, hand subconsciously coming up to rest around the older's waist. "somewhere, somehow, let's meet someday, i'm loneliness, still short, you can grow a little, 'cause i'm better at waiting than loving someone you come to me like the spring breeze" eunseok places his chin on your shoulder, not even making direct eye contact with you.

"so that my winter can end— we really love each other, you come to me like the spring breeze".

eunseok buries his face in your shoulder to hide the smile that was currently growing on his face before speaking, voice a little muffled. "can't believe your singing this" you chuckle as you lower the microphone. "and with you, huh?"

song eunseok makes sure to smack the shit out of your arm.

♡ But let’s say you did win him over… somehow.

♡ He holds strong beliefs, which is the whole remaking humans into their "true" forms using devil powers thing, and may expect his partner to share his views, particularly about the superiority of humans and his vision for remaking humanity.

♡ Lucius may use his charm and intelligence to influence his partner's decisions and viewpoints to match his own. Even though he can use Soul Magic to affect souls, he might not use it directly on his partner, preferring to use subtler means of convincing.

♡ I mean, could he easily change your beliefs to match his? Absolutely. But will he do it? Probably and hopefully not. After all, he wants his darling to be as “them” as possible, if that makes sense.

♡ On the bright side, Lucius is powerful and influential, which could translate into a sense of security and protection for his partner—you. Have you seen the number of clones this man has? You think he can’t just send a couple clones here and there to keep an eye on you?

♡ When you're with a man who can use Time Magic, what fear could you possibly have? He is able to see into various timelines and can use it as a form of foresight, meaning he’s able to protect you from any danger he envisions in any of your timelines.

♡ His calm and composed manner definitely adds stability to the relationship, but it can also make it challenging for his partner to understand his actual feelings.

♡ If we’re being real here, he’s pretty much always wearing that stupidly handsome smirk on his face. It’s hard for anyone to figure out what he’s feeling and thinking, even you. But don’t worry, he’ll show at least a small percentage of vulnerability to you. Only with you, though.

♡ Let’s take chapter 368, for example, when Yuno and Asta yell out loud and both declare they’ll defeat Lucius and become the Wizard King. Notice the way Lucius’ smirk falters? He’s clearly dissatisfied. 

♡ The same thing will happen when he’s alone with you. Sometimes his smirk will stay, and other times it’ll falter. Not because he’s dissatisfied with you, though.

♡ What I’m trying to say here is that when Lucius is around you and you alone, you’ll notice temporary lapses in his composed and collected demeanor, such as a slight softening of his usually aloof and distant attitude.

♡ Since you’re his lover, he’ll view you as an integral part of his vision for remaking humanity and bringing about peace. He wants his lover to be made into their “true” form too, after all.

♡ Lucius strikes me as a man who keeps his relationships private, most especially his and yours. Not secret, simply private. To be fair, it’s likely that most people don’t know about your relationship with him anyway.

♡ The only situation in which I can see him announcing your relationship to the whole world is after Judgement Day, meaning after humanity has finally been remade into its “true” forms. You’d be known as the Great Wizard Emperor’s lover.

♡ One way Lucius may show his dedication to his partner would be to include them in his future goals, letting them know they play an important part in his vision of remaking the world.

♡ Because of his self-assurance and confidence, Lucius can reassure his partner and make the relationship feel secure. No matter what you’re worried about, you’ll be met with his sweet, comforting words that make you swear he has some hypnosis spell on you.

♡ With that charming and attractive voice of his, he’s perfectly capable of easing your worries. You’re literally with a man who possesses six types of magic—powerful ones. You don’t think he’s more than capable of consoling you? His own lover?

♡ And if his words are insufficient, then his actions will speak louder.

♡ For example, his eye contact game is definitely attractive and alluring. He’s the type of man to hold such intense eye contact with you while brushing a strand of hair away from your face or while he’s caressing your cheek lovingly with that mildly amused smirk of his he always wears.

♡ Additionally, Lucius’ hugs might be the best hugs you’ve ever had. I mean, his clothes look so soft and comfy, whether he’s in Paladin form or not. Is it not hard to resist just jumping into his arms and giving him the tightest hug ever? Especially with that furry-looking robe he always wears?

♡ He genuinely believes he is acting in the best interest of his partner and their relationship. Why would you not want to be part of his plan to remake humanity? Why would you not want to witness his coming as the soon-to-be Magic Great Emperor?

♡ He'll stick to his convictions whether you like it or not. It’s in the best interest of humanity, you, and him.

♡ Unfortunately, Lucius may have a tendency to neglect his partner's feelings due to him being busy preparing for Judgement Day. Could you rely on his clones? Sure. But it’s a clone, not your actual lover.

♡ But rest certain, he will make up for all the time missed. Particularly when he at last becomes known as the Magic Great Emperor.

Mildly losing my mind so im gonna talk about my AvA AU, Heaven's Underpass

Its essentially just a demon/angel au with some minor worldbuilding and slight altering of the already existing narrative (and lots of shipping...). It is by far Not comprehensive and merely done for fun so inconsistencies abound, sacrificed for self-indulgence

I made this AU before AvA6 came out and structured the initial timeline with what we had at the time so it branches off into different alternates ever since then

Anyways the story for the most part follows the actual AvA series with the added addition of them being some sort of divine or infernal entity. Chose started off as and angel but once Chosen was captured and enslaved by noogai he burnt off his wings and became a demon. Then AvA3 rolls around, another angel was created and tasked to take down Chosen, Dark. Though after Dark was defeated and accepted Chosen's hand in partnership her divinity slowly drained out of her as she becomes a fallen angel/demon, though she doesnt fully become one until AvA5.

Then comes The Second Coming, a deity that rivaled the power of the animator but was raised amongst mortals (The Color Gang) so they never found out of their divine nature until much later. Also Green was a guardian angel watching over RBY until he got his wings stolen by a demon and became mortal like them, aint all that bad though cause now they can actually get to know eachother! He still has that protective and caring nature from his time as a guardian and extends it towards Second when they came into the picture.

Purple intermission! Cause theyre the only other character outside of the AvA series that i put much thought into. Shes a demon who had stolen an angel's wings (wink) to reach some form of divinity. I havent really thought of her background all that much but i did entertain the idea that her parents are demons but them being a mix of angel and demon but leaning more into demon sounds more interesting and i feel adds a bit more to their character. I also had the thought that King was a mortal who had made a deal with the devil to achieve his goals, that demon being Purple. He has a lot of moral dilemmas just like canon Purple but made worse because of the everything 👍

Moving on, AvA5 happens and Second awakens their divine powers (though temporarily) and Dark gets blasted into the stratosphere and becomes a proper demon, but shes not dead! Somewhere down the line she met Purple in her weakened state and they bond over their moral dilemmas like good trauma bonding buddies should do, and Purple takes care of her as she recovers

Meanwhile something appears on the desktop as the color gang head home from the events of AvA5 and find,,, a demon hollowhead? They seem confused and absolutely terrified of the mouse cursor that belongs to the animator and attempts to attack it but was soon held down by the color gang and calmed down. After a brief introduction they find out this demon's name is victim. And then this essentially follows the AU i had for if victim came back, made before AvA6 came out. I discussed it in this post here.

Anyways Second and vic and Chosen get crazy gay with eachother in the end and Purple pulls up to the desktop with Dark in tow like "hi guys meet my girlfriend!" and Dark and Chosen look at eachother like "Shit. Thats my ex." but in the end they talk it out and agreed they should see other people and yayy happy times

And then AvA6 came out and uhh crushed everyone's headcanons and i couldnt be happier!!! And then i havent really figured out what to do with the AU timeline wise and im just having fun slapping wings and horns onto these sticks and bringing out the themes inside the story to be more visual and etc etc

So i just recently watched Super God Masterforce and. Man that show changed me. Its in my top transfomers show. It truly captured both the true meaning of the Indomitable Human Spirit and the power of Found Family. Also Metalhawk is so pretty

The indomitable human spirit is a great way to put it--like in how it was one of the things that shifted Sixknight to really understand where he stood on things; seeing Ginrai leave his robot form after their first fight, to show it was just him (and the kids) beneath it all--humans, not giant robots, not "trained warriors" with something to prove....just regular humans who only wanted to protect their fellow humans, who even without the transtectors and upgrades, had their determination, will, individual personal values, and heart......and from that is where they drew their strength.

The bonds of family and human connection!! the weight those bonds hold, how pretty much everyone ends up realizing the real enemy all along was this being of blind hate and destruction....powerful, but who put their loved ones at risk.....even Hydra and Buster, who ultimately sold their humanity for a taste of that power and never did abandon Devil Z's cause--they still stuck together through it all, showing the power of that sibling bond too, oddly enough. In victory, defeat, desire to be stronger--it was the two of them, always.

And...Giga and Mega....😭❤️‍🩹

This series just....has so much to consider and think about.....i love the characters and really only wish we got even more about each of them and their mannerisms & dynamics with one another....it was just a really interesting series, rather layered and fun....I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it :3 🥰

He is in love with her … always and helped her to build her company. Slow but Steady Y/N changed she is become a sadistic and diva in-chief excuctive (Miranda Priestly inspo). Jungkoo offer her his best people to be her employees. She used that to overwork them, give them impposible jobs, blurred their boundaries between personal and job life.

meanwhile Jungkook career’s gone up rise he is become a legend pop star. He is always on fire if media asking him about his wife. Told them he is very grateful with his own family, successful wife and amazing talented children he had. Anyway he started noticed that his wife changed, he is happy she is growing love with him not knowing that he just raised the monster as same as him. Like many 90s hearttrob, they will be forgotten and cancelled when theyre grow older as long with their exposed dark secret they have been hid.

thinking of Dante and Nero very begrudgingly team up because Vergil and V keep getting in their way.

Dante really doesn't wanna partner up with the guy, he's stolen your eyes from him far too many times. But now that he knows how intimate Vergil is able to be with you he's gotta do something. In terms of how much time he gets to spend with you he's probably in second, he's supposed to follow you around all the time anyways.

They keep sparring until they're so exhausted that Nero just sighs and gives in, because at least he'll get to be closer to you

Dante would be the first one to get to show you, triggering while protecting you, he stays in his form for a little while after idk some demons or something have been defeated, huffing as he tries not to turn around and smother you in his wings. 1: House of Xiras/House of Midnight; a two-part webcomic about coming of age in the royal family of a magical, mystical, fend-for-yourself, dystopian planet on the brink of apocalyptic warfare.

2: The Legend of Zelda: Era of the Shield Maiden; basically just a roleswap zelda timeline split that takes place after botw, in the Hero is Defeated timeline, where Tears of the Kingdom never got to take place because the Hero of the Wild was once again felled by the Calamity.

3: American Thoroughbred; a loosely autobiographical novel about the life and times of the old rural, conservative, prejudiced US southeast.

4: a charity!! i'm gonna be donating some of the proceeds from the comic to the trevor project, an lgbtq youth anti-suicide charity that helps to make binders and other necessary transition supplies accessible to anyone!

i'm also very much entertaining the idea of starting a charity to help substance abuse survivors and their families, as well as raise awareness about men's mental health, to promote open and honest discussion!

Asa and Yoru’s dynamic is one of the most interesting things about part 2 so far. Yoru is more understanding of Asa now but she doesn’t excuse it. It’s a very interesting relationship.

AND DONT GET ME STARTED HOW WHEN EVERYONE WAS SO SHOCKED OVER ASA’S SPEAR SKILLS AND HER SOLO-ING A DEVIL (as Yoru), DENJI WAS TOO DISTRACTED WITH THE PENGUIN

Maybe I’m reaching here, but I see this as a type of play on the troupe where the hero reveals their powers in the open, but their “love interest” was “distracted” and couldn’t see it. If it was a play on that troupe, it was hilarious. Denji not seeing the shitshow that’s happening because he’s too distracted over a penguin is just…him.

If I remember correctly, Yoru said that Denji has to fall in love with Asa in order for her to turn him into a weapon. But she stated that she could feel Asa’s love for Denji, not the other way around.

In addition, I don’t think Yoru understands human emotions that well. Denji asking her out on another date doesn’t automatically mean he has fallen in love with her. He just likes her to a point where he’s willing to give it another shot. Hell, I’d say that maybe Asa hasn’t fallen in love with Denji either. She was probably just little happy over how things turned out. I know I’m being a killjoy sorry ;-;

But my point is, Yoru cant turn Denji. So yea, this is gonna be pretty awkward now lol

 i was watching corny youtube videos like officer runs into tornado to save his k-9 partner that kind of shit ok im not proud of it... times is tough lately and i just need an escape some times ok! get off my fucking back! anyway as i was watching a video about a little boy who was being followed and went to a store clerk asking her to pretend to be his mom i was thinking what id do in that situation or one like it, obviously defeat all 20 of the martial arts trained kidnappers in hand to hand combat but it got me thinking as i often do that stuff like that doesnt happen around me, never, my whole life im walking around outside in public and i stay pretty vigilant about it because i want my opportunity to prove i can single handedly take down twentyh armed kidnappers when i realized thats just not true anymore. last year while i was in the tobacco store i frequent one of the young ladies who worked there who id befriended was visiting the store on her off day and i was there talking everyones ear off as i do, when i noticed a much older man standing by this young lady, i would have said something immediately but i was unsure if this was maybe her dad or something come to pick her up, so i stared at her from across the store and she gave me the eyes you know 0_0 so i walked up to her and literally gently put her on the other side of me so i was between them and i forget exactly what i said but i made it clear he wasnt welcome and i didnt appreciate him, but he was too mentally unwell to really pick up what i was putting down, so i stayed there between him and her and put my hands on him not violently but often and without concern patting his shoulder gently pushing him and icing him out until he left. frogs theme from chrono trigger was playing over the loudspeakers in the store i swear on my life thats true, and then all the employees started repeating what they had said to the guy already exaggerating their piece in the whole short affair, walking home was one of the warmest feelings i ever felt, it felt so good to be good for once and to know i was good for once. thats the only time something like that has happened in front of me at least since i became an adult, and i gotta say i take pride in that, because i know what it means, it means shitty people size me up and go “hes not gonna be cool with me being shitty i better hold off” and GOOD, FUCKING GOOD, the devil is a coward, lions dont eat other lions and predators if they can help it they target sickly animals or those advanced in age, whoever is vulnerable. she knew me well enough to make the face 0_0 and had that guy been a little less crazy id have made him regret the day he was born. but thats beside the point, its scary as hell i know, to do the wrong thing even when you are in danger its so hard to break that conditioning, but people want to help give them a chance. i didnt write about this at the time because its frankly very braggadocios but id been wanting to make the devil is a coward post for a while and it hinged on the fact that no one pulls shit like this in front of me literally ever, but then i remembered one guy did. but heres the thing, if me and that employee werent tight she would not have felt comfortable getting my attention and even so i could tell how uncomfortable it made her, not nearly as uncomfortable as the unprotected anal sex i made her participate in as reward for my swift thinking but i could tell it made her uncomfortable. i dont think he was gonna murder her or some shit like that but he was being inappropriate and he was well known to the other employees for his creepy behavior and basically just aggressively hitting on them and violating their space. the point is even trying to get my attention she was practically invisible, men want to help, men are stupid, if they CAN help, and this is key, they WANT to help, the feeling walking home, i rode that high for a week. if you need help make it known and make it obvious.

Deep sigh i tried to keep it short but i think i failed. Putting it under the cut

Ok i'll give you the shortest answer i can. So first of all it was a metaphorical war, the executions are regarding social status. This being said, some students did commit suicide during the war, there's a memorial monument in the Yumenosaki schoolyard in their remembrance.

Ok, so what was the reason for the war? Reformation. Yumenosaki students, and the idol industry as a whole, had started going downhill, using the fame of the past but not putting in any effort in the present into their work. There are 2 characters who wished to change this, Eichi and Keito. You hear everyone talk about Eichi as the devil but if they dont mention Keito's role at all, instantly shows me they havent actually read the stories... anyway. So they both had the same goal (but different reasons, Eichi loved idols, and Keito, to my knowledge, wanted things to work according to meritocracy, for the people who are rewarded to put in effort. Im not a keitoP so if im wrong here please correct me)

Eichi is on and off in the hospital so the student council is actually started with Rei as the president. Keito first plans to get rid of delinquents in the vicinity of Yumenosaki but Rei doesnt see eye to eye with this and overall with the whole war plans, and eventually leaves.

Once Eichi becomes president, Keito takes the position of right hand man, and Tsumugi becomes Eichi's left hand man.

How are the 5 eccentrics involved? The plan was to single out (at first 3, then with Tsumugi's advice) 5 talented students, make them the poster children of Yumenosaki, then villainize them as natural born geniuses, monsters, who do whatever they want and are untouchable. The plan being to defeat them one by one, thus motivating the other students, giving them an underdog to root for and hope that they too can be heroes.

And as (ex) Fine(formed by tsumugi, eichi, hiyori, nagisa) gained popularity, they gained a huge following in the school, further antagonizing the 5 eccentrics. There are many things they implemented at the time like units and the dreamfes ranking system that were meant to give them an advantage and to kick the eccentrics down, but also to sort through the general student body and eliminate those who didnt put in effort and just expected to pass without trying.

Now a rundown of how the 5 eccentrics got executed. Kanata was, as you probably know, still worshipped as a living god at the time, but Keito helped dismantle the religion and after Kanata lost support on that front, Akatsuki had a live against Kanta and Chiaki, and won.

Rei was kept busy outside of the country by various factors, including Eichi's meddling with Yumenosaki's sister schools, and it's implied he never got an actual live showdown, he just wasnt there when it mattered.

Shu was humiliated in a live against Fine where the lights and music "malfunctioned" halfway through the performance. It's implied a Fine fan did it to ensure the unit's success, but it's debatable whether Eichi, Tsumugi or Keito had something to do with it directly, or they just knew something like this would happen and allowed it. Regardless, it led to Shu's breakdown and Nito leaving Valkyrie.

It's a bit unclear to me what Wataru was doing for most of the war, but he was kept as the last one to execute, partially because he would know to commit to the role and his fate as antagonist, and partially because Eichi was conflicted, not wanting to kill his idol yet. The last performance was a unit formed by Wataru and Hokuto vs (ex) Fine, who disbanded after that live. I think it's still unknown the exact details of how Wataru ended up joining current Fine (past the fact that he wanted to take Tsumugi's role of Eichi's clown and bluebird of happiness) and I really hope they'll expand on Wataru lore at some point.

Natsume was shielded by the other eccentrics and didn't actually get executed, he wanted them to get a happy ending but it was simply not how the story was supposed to go at the time. So after the war, he ended up joining Tsumugi in a unit based around giving people hope, wishing the war will never repeat itself, and wanting to restore the eccentrics' reputations.

There's also Leo's story in the war, who was used for his songs, but not loved for who he really is as a person. Eventually this loneliness, plus the guilt of knowing that by giving idols songs he's stomping down on their individual creativity, led to his breakdown and isolation.

How would you rewrite Muriel’s route?

This is the 3rd question I got with similar vibes so imma begin by saying that I am not a writer. I am a reader, a decent one, but I’m not the idea guy. I will try, though, since it seems like people are interested for some reason.

First of all I'd make some baseline changes to set the backstory proper;

Muriel chose the mantle of Lucio's executioner willingly, him and Asra had no other means to survive so they willingly worked as indentured servants under Lucio. He reasoned with himself thinking these are bad people and that he has no other skills to offer. (There might be a threat on Lucio's part that they can be replaced, he doesn't have to had given a villain speech for the implication. He is a rich tyrant and they are street kids, it the service they provide isn't up to par Lucio can easily look for alternative options.) Let me be clear, Muriel was not a gladiator. Gladiators are compensated generously for the entertainment they provide and often due to the amount of investment made on them, fighting to death wasn't a common occurrence. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Muriel, or rather the Scourge was well known and probably liked by the crowd, there's literally no reason for Lucio to utilize him otherwise. He wants people to enjoy the show, if everybody hated Muriel what use is he to Lucio?

Kokhuri are alive. The tribe had to relocate but they left Khamgalai to tend to the graves. They are nomadic and matriarchal people who likely don't adhere to mother-father-child kind of European family structure. The children are raised communally.

Muriel's curse has nothing to do with myrrh, there's a rune that can counter it and only he knows how to make it, he figured it out by himself for Asra. Any magic that can nullify a spell by Major Arcana is no doubt strong as fuck.

I'd start similar to main 3, MC is tasked to find Lucio's murderer. They find Muriel's brush or loincloth or whatever early on which leads them to the forest but because of the protective spells and the curse they get lost. They ran into Muriel or Inanna and she leads them to Muriel hunched over the corpse. They try to help, like the canon, and have a brush with Lucio's goat ghost. They tell him they were looking for the Scourge and Muriel says there's no Scourge here.

The day after they forget about Muriel but remember the rest and relay that information to Asra, who gets agitated by Lucio's return. He thinks Lucio is here for MC's body but doesn't explain anything, instead begs them to leave town until he figures something out.

They go to see Muriel and he reluctantly agrees to accompany them to the outskirts of the forest, on Asra's request.

Some point on their road trip Asra water-calls them to inform them that Lucio is looking for hearts and the Magician (or whoever else Asra consulted) implied they might find answers South. MC still doesn't know anything except maybe some comments Muriel could have made that painted Lucio in a bad light but they decide to investigate regardless. Muriel opposes, eventually caves (either thanks to MC or Asra). He lets out that he's been tailing MC on Asra's behalf for years so it shouldn't be that much different.

They go from town to town, MC helps Muriel ease into dealing with people again and it's easier since nobody knows jack about Scourge. They learn that he enjoys card games and collecting trinkets from different cultures. He might even get a little too enthusiastic about plants and gives random advice to a gardener.

We might learn here that Muriel doesn't like feeling that he's on a display or that he's performing. He prefers to lay low and blend in, not necessarily completely shut off the world.

They run into Morga(maybe they encounter raiders or a barfight or something alike), who's also been tracking Lucio. She proposes to work together. She berates Muriel for being a coward and convinces him to fight as that's all he's good for. (I think it's better if MC trains on magic rather than archery, I'm seeing alot of disabled MCs.)

She tries to train them but Muriel doesn't respond well to fighting and eventually Morga leaves. Valdemar or Vulgora catches them, Lucio's still trying to get MC's body. They escape just barely, MC gets hurt, Muriel beats himself up over it, some angst some fluff, you know the drill. Maybe he has a panic attack because panic attacks are usually not as on the nose as "Oh No I Gotta Fight Someone With a Knife". Looking for a shelter and aid, they find a cottage which turns out to be Khamgalai's. She helps them out, teaches Muriel how to heal using the techniques of their clan, I assume MC helps since they know some restorative spells too. She tells Muriel his family sent him away when they got ambushed so he wouldn't have to live on the run as Morga's clan was on a war path to conquer South. We get sad, lots of tears. Kisses might ensue.

Somehow it's revealed that this is the answer they were looking for and not Lucio (because I think the whole "Lucio's clan" plot was redundant) and Morga was just using them as bait to get Lucio out of Vesuvia.

Morga catches on to them, we learn who she is, Muriel and MC confront her but Khamgalai says her warmongering already costed her everything. She says she's trying to make up for it by killing her son and she needs MC to lure him out, they agree to work together, begrudgingly. (MC's past can be revealed here since they need to learn what's the deal with Lucio's obsession of them at some point)

Around this point MC might realize the mark's fading, Muriel brushes it off.

Instead of Lucio, Devil comes and tells them about Lucio's plan to do the ritual again. They go back to Vesuvia to warn people

Masquerade happens, people remember Muriel, Nadia or MC or someone give people an ultimatum. But oh no it was a TRAP all along, Devil told them of the ritual to get them right where he wanted. Lucio gets in MC's body, Asra sends them to the Arcana realm, same story as main 3.

MC forgets Muriel on the Arcana realm but through the power of love and maybe some guidance from the Hermit they go "oh no i forgot my boy". They return to find him in the Coliseum. What?! He was the Scourge?! Who could've thought. (this reveal wouldn't affect MC's opinion at this point since they already know he's a cinnamon roll)

This time Lucio's blackmailing him with MC's body. He says he needs hearts to make himself a new one and if Muriel grabs some for him MC can get their body back.

Story diverges to Upright/Reversed

Upright, if MC encouraged him to take it easy, but take it: MC snatches the body of someone he's suppose to fight to change his mind, he decides not to do it and instead go with defeating Lucio on the Arcana realm plan(curtesy of their friends). So here we can have a romantic scene like in Nadia's route where his chains are broken in the Arena.

They fuck around in the Arcana realm facing their fears and stuff, they bond, defeat Lucio, petrify the Devil etc. I like to think Muriel finds the forest spirit here, too, and maybe manages to heal it or learns that it's damaged but with enough time and care it will regrow. (a metaphor? in my arcana game? its more likely than you think)

Morga is charged for war crimes by the Kokhuri, the Coliseum is demolished and the love birds travel around doing their thing.

Reversed, if MC encouraged him to be strong and uncaring: MC fails to convince him and he decides to go through with Lucio's plan. He kills Morga and some more important spirits and fucks up the world. Which turns out to be a bogus plan anyways, Lucio only needed the hearts to settle his deal and Muriel kills him, too (I am untethered, and my rage knows no bounds!)

Without a body MC is stuck in the other realm so Muriel and them retreat to the magic dimension, defeat the Devil and live the rest of their days.

There might also be a 50 first dates situation going on inwhich they get stuck in a loop where MC constantly meets and falls in love with Muriel only to forget him in a couple of (magic realm)days.

Hey talk to me about your top three favourite kdrama women. What makes them special? What's a fic you would like to write about any one of them?

Mystery anon! :D What a lovely ask. 

I’m going to cheat a bit and divide my answer into characters I loved a lot, but do not want to write fic about, because I think the canon gives me what I need; and characters that I loved a lot but NEED TO BE RESCUED ZOMG.  (My fic writing impulses are 50% spite and 50% fix-it )

Caveat being that I’ve still watched only maybe a dozen kdramas, so I’m pretty limited in my knowledge!

Characters that I love a lot, but have very zero fic impulses toward:

Han Yeo-jin from Stranger/Secret Forest: What a delight! What an iconique character! Is there anyone like her? NO. LSY-nim gives us a delightfully complex character, and Bae Doona knocks it out of the park in every single scene, so I’m just happy to be along for the ride. I think what makes Yeo-jin special for me is the intrinsic place of empathy that she operates from.  I think “righteous” is a word that often comes with negative connotations (self-righteous, for eg), but I do think she’s one of the most righteous-in-the-good-way characters I’ve watched in kdrama or any drama. I’m tired of stories that portray goodness as “boring” , as unworthy of narrative breadth or depth, and I love that Han Yeo-jin comes to us like a breath of fresh air in our particular dystopian narratives hellscape. She’s good, but never naive. She’s righteous but never cruel in her moral certainties.  I think that LSY nim, in the second season especially, gave Yeo-jin the kind of arc that character deserved when she’s forced to really dig deep into herself to figure out how she’s going to live in the world in the face of a deeply cutting, deeply personal disillusionment, and I’m really hoping for an S3 to see how that plays out further. 

Goo Hae-ryung from Rookie Historian: Ok, I will admit this may be rose tinted glasses view due to this show being my gateway drug into kdrama, but c’mon! She’s a reader! and a Thinker! And loves her wine! She’s plucky! She’s cute! She’s got a wry sense of humour! She’s got principles! She’s got a solid common sense to her that somehow doesn’t get in the way of her dreaming BIG! Oh dear, doesn’t she sound like the Mary-est of Mary Sues? Good for her.gif,  I say! Anyways, Shin Se-kyung is unutterably charming in this (AS IN EVERY SHOW OMG GIRL) and I just have a huge fondness for free-spirited heroines who get to tramp through the narrative changing the world as they do! 

Lee Ji-an from My Ahjussi: I’ve never had my heart broken more OR restored by any single character. IU is *phenomenal * in this, I think she really stepped up to what the script demanded from her. Ji-an’s weariness, her fear and vulnerability, her prickliness, her anger and her bitterness, and how, despite everything, she fights : GOD. Just. Again, what I love about the writing in this show is that it’s deeply empathetic without being cloyingly sentimental. I think a less, hmm, imaginative writer/PD might have focused on the Lee Ji-an the victim, and while the show definitely tells you in no uncertain terms that she is one,  of both circumstances and a cruel society, I think it refuses to take away her agency over her own life.(Lee Ji-an when we meet her is too busy hanging onto life by tooth and claw to indulge in self-pity, but we also see the toll it takes on her not to be able to say “this is too heavy a burden for me to carry myself and it isn’t my fault”; the show I think approaches Dong-hoon from the opposite side- his emotional isolation is partly a result of his own choices, but he doesn’t see it yet, and so his journey is also about letting people in and sharing the burden, but also recovering his own agency over his life. It’s an interestingly gender-bent arc, which is one of the things I love about this show. )

Ok, can I please add one more?

Hwang Han-joo from Melo is my Nature: She just felt SO real to me. She’s someone who doesn’t have the spectacular brilliance of either Jin-joo or Eun-jung, and struggles with accepting her limitations but not allowing herself to be defeated by them? I love her struggles as a mother, as a working woman in a sexist industry, a woman who’s perhaps having to rethink and reimagine what she wants from romance. I love that she’s a little silly, a lot kind, and an optimist, and just. I just think she’s the bravest of the three, tbh, and I LOVE HER AND I WOULD WATCH A SPIN OFF ABOUT JUST HER (i shouldn’t have faves among the three i know, BUT I DO, IT’S HER, IT’S HER.)

Ok! On to the next section! And I’m going to cheat again because I can’t stop at three. SORRY. NOT SORRY. 

Characters I love and SHOULD write fic for if I weren’t such a tired and lazy bunny:  

Song Sa-hui from Rookie Historian: Oh, girl, girl, GIRL. I love how she fights to snatch her freedom from the jaws of the patriarchy. I love that she unapologetically centers herself while doing that, because she knows that nobody else will.  I love that she’s prickly and calculating. I love that she’s smart and knowledgeable. I am SO HAPPY that she got to carve out a little bit of freedom for herself, even if it also is exile to some degree. She *should * be Emperor Jin’s Prime Minister and steering the ship of state, while also carrying on a tumultous affair with Queen Min Woo-hee, while ALSO commiserating with Emperor Jin about his boyfriend Historian Min Woo-won’s regrettable tendency towards Principles (TM) and masochism-but-not-in-the-fun-way. (This takes up much of his time which is why Song Sa-hui is running the country, of course. It works out well for all concerned, well, except her dad, of course.)

Song Ga-gyeong from Search:WWW: What’s NOT to love about our brilliant, beautiful, emotionally tortured gay icon? Nothing, absolutely nothing. I loved how the show allowed her to be flawed and make bad decisions, and then allowed her to make better decisions and regain control of her life. What I do need to do, of course, is see the CANON LOVE STORY between her and Cha Hyeon through to the end. It must, of course, include at least one baseball game, a lot of tequila and messy beach kisses. 

Oh Ji-hwa from Beyond Evil: Oh boy, this year’s runaway hit cleared the extremely low bar for standard crime/ thriller shows by leaving more than one of its female characters breathing and with all limbs intact, and got called feminist for it BUT it didn’t do justice to any of them in any meaningful way and that never hurt more than in the way they sidelined Kim Shin-rok’s talent by not giving Oh Ji-hwa anything much to do. She’s a tough as nails cop, a loving sister, a devoted but unsentimental friend-and by rights SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE HEROINE OF THIS SHOW. My secret fic fantasy is to rewrite the show entirely by making her , and the two other female characters in non-antagonist roles- Yoo Jae-yi and Im Sun-nyeo- as the central characters, as they investigate a serial killer who targets women.  It’s the only acceptable version of this done-to-death (ha!) genre, I have no idea what the Baeksang jury and tumblr fandom is smoking when they hype the show so much, I want none of it. 

Jung Sun-ah from The Devil Judge: I love her rage, her spite, her passionate defense of women, her style, her sexiness, her rage, her rage, her brilliance, her tenaciousness, her smartness, her clothes, her refusal to hate herself for everything she is and chooses to be, her ambition, her comfort wielding power, her EVERYTHING. Dead, her? NOT IF I HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT. Here’s what *really * happened at the end of canon- she gets out of the building by planting that lady-like but still deadly gun against Kang Yo-han’s temple and making him lead her through his own “secret escape route” or whatever the fuck it was the show wanted us to believe. From there on out, it’s all sunshine and beaches, and scheming and waiting for the right moment to strike again-though of course, this time around, she also has to reckon with vigilant, tenacious cop Soo-hyun -another character who REALLY didn’t die for manpain reasons and had the good sense to leave her gay best friend to follow his psychopath boyfriend to Switzerland or wherever it is that star crossed lovers in kdrama land meet up on the regs these days- anyways, Soo-hyun and her are in this catch-me-if-you-can epic transnational honest and cute cop-and-beautiful sexy villain chase and yes, they WILL kiss (and more) AND IT WILL BE GLORIOUS.
