Some lists of favorites and least favorites for story content.
Writing this made me realize I want to do a larger version with my opinion on each event / mgs / costume story so I think I might actually do that in the future before I do the big reread.
Anyways I'm gonna post this and then lay down. Feel free to make your own lists? Could be fun to see how similar and different everyone's is.
Favorite Events

Breakpoint

Haregi Sayaka
All the Nanoha girls
Corbeau (it was so boring, justice for corncob)
The anime versions for just being clip shows from the anime
Honorable Mentions (MGS)?
Himena Aika's magical girl story was very good and written well for her perspective but I did not enjoy experiencing it
Yachiyo Nanami's is bafflingly incorrect with later story stuff but it's so bad and questionable in parts that it actually becomes kind of entertaining
I really liked the first 2/3 of Sasara Minagi's mgs but the conclusion fell flat for me and kind of ruined it
Fairytale Mifuyu had a really good mgs but i can't be caught on record saying that
I stared at Haregi Homura's magical girl story thumbnail for like 2 minutes, wondering if I had watched it then remembering that I did. Not a fan but not bad enough to put on the least favorite list. Just painfully mediocre.
I've never been able to sit through and watch all of Cool Homura's mgs because attention span bad and bored. sorry homu. your swimsuit mgs is still the best though!
I haven't watched enough Costume Stories to put them on here, but I liked Temari's winter costume and I liked Sana's pajama costume.

Inuvember 2023 Part 1
In honor of @inuvember InuKag Day, the Archive Mods have put together a 30 item InuKag recommendation list: one InuKag fic per prompt. Since this list is longer than our usual, we've split it into two parts. Enjoy!
Day 1 Inuyasha
I Hate That Fucking Well by @kstewdeux (M)
Post-manga. Inuyasha POV. Inuyasha's inner thoughts and monologues. Rated M for fucking language
Day 2 Kagome
Cinnamon Hearts by @fandomobsessions016 (M)
"So, you may be wondering, what’s this story about anyway? Well, I’ll tell you. It’s about how this queen, almost lost her crown, her throne, but worst of all… it’s about how this queen almost lost her king…
Hindsight, of course, has perfect vision, but at the time I did not. I was a girl becoming a woman who fought bitterly against change that was inevitable. I didn’t want to open my eyes. I didn’t want to see what was right in front of me.
What I wanted more than anything was to keep Inuyasha.
High school forced my eyes open, tested our “unshakable” bond and made me confront my biggest fear. All because…
I caught feelings for my best friend.
I like-liked my king."
Day 3 Sango
Forever Home by KittyKatz (M)
How long had he roamed the earth in a form that was not his? Beaten, dirty and caged, he finds one last bit of fortune when she comes to rescue him from this place. But his road to redemption will not be easy. And he will find, that no matter how the world has changed, his old enemy remains. And this time, they plan to destroy him once and for all.
Day 4 Miroku
Under the Northern Lights by @lostinfantasyworlds (E)
Kagome Higurashi has her dream job, working as a photographer for the internationally well-known Yugen magazine. Her career whisks her all around the world, leaving her feeling lonely sometimes but mostly just incredibly grateful to be doing what she loves. When she gets assigned to Alaska for a month to photograph a series of celestial events, she runs into Inuyasha, a half-demon who lives on his own in the middle of nowhere. A mutual attraction draws them to each other, but Kagome's time there is limited. Will giving in to their desire lead to love or heartbreak?
Day 5 Shippo
Oh, But You're Good To Me by @witchygirl99 (E)
It’s a terrible photo, really. The action figure takes up the entire bottom of the screen and part of both of their faces. Shippo’s giggling though, eyes shut and crinkled in his mirth while Inuyasha looks at him. His expression is clearly fond. It’s the softest Inuyasha has ever, ever seen himself.
This is fatherhood, he thinks a little wildly.
He sends the photo to Kagome.
Inuyasha is a single father. Shippo is his adopted son. Kagome isn't supposed to be in the picture, but somehow, she returns anyways. A story about family, love, and all of its obstacles.
Day 6 Sesshomaru
Whispers in the Wind by @ruddcatha (G)
It has been 500 years since Kagome jumped back down the well to be with Inuyasha. A messenger waits to see her family, and is joined by a surprising guest.
Day 7 Rin
My Life Before You by @len-barboza (E) -- based on a story by Mizune-mei
No English language summary provided.
Day 8 Kikyou
Stolen Soul by Kimberly-A (T)
COMPLETE Kikyo uses a spell to exchange bodies with Kagome, leaving Kagome stuck in the dead shell and Kikyo comfortably human. In the aftermath, Inu-Yasha faces difficult choices. InuKag, not very Kikyo-friendly.
Day 9 Koga
A New Moon, A New Start by @pinestripes (T)
Kouga visits the village near the Sacred Tree. On this particular evening, he finds that a certain half-demon is more on edge than usual.
Day 10 Kagura
The Portal Between Worlds by @neutronstarship (E)
Ten years ago, a portal transported Inuyasha from the demon realm to the human realm. Now a half-demon alone in a world he doesn't understand, he will do anything to get home. When Onigumo brings him a book with all the answers, Inuyasha pushes aside his misgivings and works with the man. He just wants to get home, after all.
Kagome just wants to make an extra buck (and find demons), much to Kikyo’s chagrin. That is why she published Demons Among Us! after all. But strange things start happening when she puts the book online. As if people are using it to open the portals that it hypothesized… When Kagura and Sango join the fray, the stakes grow higher as they try to find the source of the portals.
When Inuyasha encounters Kagome, fate is not what it seems. Not one, but two realms are in danger for their survival. What happens when the final portal opens and an unknowable terror is unleashed? Can the Demon Hunters save the world?
Day 11 Naraku
You Rescued Me by @keizfanfiction (E)
Maybe it was fate that he decided to take the back way home that night, but whatever the reason, Inuyasha was grateful for arriving just in the nick of time to rescue a waif of a woman who had clearly been through hell. He never would have imagined that she would end up rescuing him, too.
Day 12 Band of Seven
Delicate by @akitokihojo (T)
To trust someone, to let them in, what an unsettling ordeal. Kagome is easy and safe, and Inuyasha is difficult and guarded. She can put him at ease with a smile, simultaneously setting him on edge. It was nothing until it was something, creating absolute chaos and uncertainty within the both of them.
Day 13 Jinenji/ Shiori
How Does Your Garden Grow? by @dawnrider (M)
An Ingary-esque AU: Kagome, the newest generation of caretakers of the Higurashi House, finally starts to feel like her garden and business is thriving with the help of her friend Jinenji. Their routine is thrown off by the arrival of an injured visitor who does not want to be found...
Day 14 Toga
Taisho School of Acting: A Quick Guide by @jeremymarsh (G)
“Excuse me, what?” Kagome looked at her best friend with eyes as big as saucers, lips parted, and her mind replaying what he had said a moment before – trying to find a sense but to no avail. “You heard me.” Inuyasha scowled, looking down, arms crossed and lips pouting, just like he did every time he didn’t like the topic at hand. The problem was he had started it this time. “Yeah, I did.” Kagome shook her head and inhaled deeply before she continued. “And that’s why I’m asking you to repeat yourself since I’m having problems believing that certain sentences left your mouth.” “I said,” Inuyasha started through clenched teeth, still not meeting her gaze, “come to my family Christmas dinner this Sunday.” He stopped, ran a hand through his silver mane, closed his eyes, murmured something unintelligible and then added: “As my girlfriend.”
Where Inuyasha tries to fool his parents and miserably fails.
Day 15 Izayoi
The Silence of Daisies by Fierywenchxo (T)
Inuyasha shares with Kagome one of the biggest secrets he's ever kept. One-shot.

Onmyouji AU/Kyubi Kitsune Gojo Satoru
!!Warning!! Suggestive themes, implied smut, violence, blood, angst, FLUFF!
Note: The shikigami mentioned here are real literal gods that were summoned from God's realm. I think that's all.
“WAIT A MINUTE!!!!!! FUMIKO!!!! YOU STILL HAVEN’T FINISHED YOUR MORNING TRAINING!!!!” As usual, the morning started with this sentence.
“AS IF I HAVE TIME TO DO THAT?! YOU STUPID DAD!!!!”
“It’s a peaceful morning as usual.” Hifumi-san, our head maid smiled.
“That’s right.” I nodded as I continued eating my breakfast without batting an eye.
“Hifumi-san!” The shoji door slid open. “Where is my bento?”
“Good morning, Fumi-nee.”
“Good morning, Fuu-chan,” Nee-san replied.
“You are not going to eat breakfast?”
“If I eat breakfast now, I will be late for sure.” She cried.
“FUMIKO!!!!”
“Here you are.” Hifumi-san handed a nice and neatly wrapped lunch box.
“Then, I am going first.” She sped off. Then, Father follows suit while yelling at her.
“Thanks for the food.” I clapped my hands and put down the chopsticks. “I am off to school.” I picked up my schoolbag and the lunch box that had been put aside.
“Please take care, Fuuka-sama.”
“Yes.” ~”~
Hisaki Fumiko 18 years old, my big sister and I, Hisaki Fuuka 18 years old, are twin children of an onmyouji clan. We are from a famous clan which is to be said to be descendants of Abe no Seimei. As you can see, we are fraternal twins, meaning we look different in terms of appearance and personality.
“Why would I have to do the useless training every single morning? It’s not like I will ever use it.” Fumi-nee moaned.
“Because we are Onmyouji?” I blinked.
“Hmph! All Father preached in the morning was praising Fuuka anyway. ‘Learn like Fuuka’; ‘Think like Fuuka’; ‘Act like Fuuka’” She mimicked his voice. “It’s nice to be you, Fuu-chan. No matter what you do, Father never gets angry. Let’s just have you to be the Head.”
“But I don’t want to be the Head.” I giggled. “I’d rather spend my time lazing around.” I smiled.
“I am surprised that Father hasn’t found out that side of you. I wonder what kind of face he would make if he found out his favourite daughter is actually a lazy bum.” Fumi-nee sweatdropped.
“Fumi-nee, you shouldn’t degrade yourself too much. No matter who says it, I know that Fumi-nee is suitable to be the Head. Your spiritual power is also no joke. Father train you harder so you can control it.” I explained.
“Well… It’s true that my spiritual power was said to be second to none. But… as expected, training is hard.” She moaned.
“There there.” I patted her head. “Oh, by the way.” I rummaged in my skirt pocket to take out a gift. “Here.” I put it on her palm, a small rectangular box wrapped in her favourite pink colour. “Happy birthday.”
“Thank you, Fuu-chan.” She beamed. “Can I open it?”
“Sure.” I nodded. Fumi-nee quickly tears open the wrapper and takes out the gift. “This is…”
“A matching bracelet.” I showed her the identical bracelet on my arm. We have the same initials, so the difference lies in the charms. Mine is decorated by foxes, such as; a tori gate, fox mask, little fox and nine-tailed fox with ice blue gem stones in its eyes. Fumi-nee’s charms are boat, omamori, coin money and Kagura Bell; which are the bells in the Kagura are decorated with red gem stones.
“Pretty…” She breathed.
“I know right? I am glad I found these.” I grinned.
“Oh, here, from me.” Fumi-nee also gave me a small neatly wrapped rectangular box. I open the gift and see a necklace, with my initials. “Matching necklace.” She grinned. The same initials with different gemstones.
“We are really twins.” I laughed.
“That’s right.” Fumi-nee nodded happily. ~”~
Coming back from school, we are requested to purify ourselves and then wear kimono. Today is the day when we are going to summon our own shikigamis. In this world, there are a lot of things that can’t be seen by humans. They are the evil spirits and souls of the dead. We, as onmyouji have the task to help them to enter the nirvana to enter the process of reincarnation and vanquish evil spirits which at the same time cleanse their sin, allowing them to enter nirvana.
Every child in each clan will have to summon their own shikigamis at the age of 18. This ceremony is also dubbed as Heir Awakening. The eldest born of each clan will inherit the next Head position in this ceremony. Unless, the second or younger siblings that were born not too far apart, maybe in 3 years age gap, summoned stronger shikigami, then the position of the heir will be given to them.
Now, in this vast hall of Hisaki Mansion, numerous onmyoujis and heirs from other clans are also here, and in the furthest corner, there are some people wearing all black. Those are onmyoujis that don’t have their shikigamis. They only fight with their own strength. There are a lot of theories about them, but the most popular one is that they killed their own shikigamis to absorb their power.
The elders of onmyouji clans don’t like anomalies, that’s why they dubbed those outcasts as sorcerers, not onmyoujis. And calling them to the heir awakening ceremony is just a way to check on them. After all they are dubbed as barbarians that didn’t know manners. It’s just the elders' way to show off.
Fumiko-nee and I begin the ritual and summon our own shikigamis. Suddenly, I heard gasps of surprise and murmurs from the guests as they finally got a clear view of our shikigamis.
“Hoo… someone managed to summon me, this Ebisu… not bad.” The leader of Shichifukujin looked at Fumiko-nee.
“Not only you, she also managed to summon us.” Bishamonten rolled his eyes.
“She is cute. So, I don’t mind her being my master.” Fukurokuju giggled.
“Shichifukujin (The 7 Gods of Fortune)…. As expected from the younger twin, she actually summoned Shichifukujin.” A guest gaped.
“That’s not quite correct. We are summoned by her.” Benzaiten, the bespectacled ikemen smiled, looking at Fumi-nee.
“What?!” Again, this triggers another speculation among them.
When summoning shikigamis, there are two factors that determine the position of the children of the clans. First, the rank of the shikigami. Shikigami is ranked based on how much faith they generated, meaning how worshipped or popular they are in the human realm. The more faith they gained, the more powerful they were.
And the second is, how many shikigamis you summoned. This factor is debatable because if someone owns a lot of weak shikigamis, their standing is still lower than one strong shikigami. But their standing is of course better than the owner of one weak shikigami.
As for Shichifukujin, they are undoubtedly in the top rank of shikigamis. There are some onmyoujis in the past that also have summoned Shichifukujin, but maybe only one or two of them, never the complete set like Fumi-nee. This shows that she is the strongest in this era.
I pick up a small white with glacial blue tips furred fox which is still sleeping soundly without a care about the onlookers here. The small fox snuggles up into my arms and finds a comfortable position to continue sleeping. ‘Cute.’ My eyes softened. But to others, fox shikigami is not rare, and the one I summoned is only a one-tailed fox. The most common type of fox, Yako (field fox). The foxes are said just beginning to amass spiritual power.
Though Father doesn’t show it on his face explicitly, he does feel some disappointment. I can see it from his subtle body language, while the reactions of the guests vary, I can see a lot of them are mocking and laughing at me. Especially children from clans that were always compared to me by their parents.
With this, Fumi-nee is officially the heir. A conclusion that I like very much. Now I can just laze around every day. Eat when I want to eat, play when I want to play and sleep when I want to sleep. The best lifestyle I can ever hope for.
The guests then start swarming the heir and my family, congratulating them. I use this chance to sneak away to follow the sorcerers out.
“Excuse me!” I called to the sorcerers. The three of them, two males and one female, look young, just hitting their twenties. “Excuse me!” I called them again but they paid no heed to me. My hand rushes to grab the nearest one, the sleeve of the white-headed male with a blindfold.
They finally look at me, rather surprised. “We are sorry, we didn’t know you were calling us, Hisaki-san.” The black-haired guy with a weird bang smiled politely.
“Sorry for grabbing you suddenly.” I released my hold on the white head and bowed in apology, making sure the small fox was still resting comfortably in my arms.
“So, is there anything you need from us?” The white head asked with a mocking tone.
“Satoru.” His friend gave him a stern look.
“It’s fine. I was the rude one. But I just want to ask if it’s okay to leave this little one with me.” I looked at the whitehead.
“Why are you asking that?” He frowned.
“Why, you ask?” I blinked, tilting my head. “But this little one is the piece of your soul, isn’t it?” I said.
“…” They looked at me with serious expression.
“My eyes are very perceptive in discerning things that normal humans can’t see. And I won’t ask why you do this, this is your privacy and I don’t intend to pry it. It’s just I am worried about what will happen if you are too far apart from your soul.” I said.
“What if I say I will die if I am too far with it?” The white head asked.
“Oh… then, I will have no choice but to give it back to you…” I said, a pang of disappointment filled my chest. ‘And to think I have taken a liking to it. What a shame.’
“You won’t get angry?” His tone was taken aback.
“Why would I?”
“What he meant is, don’t you want to compete with your eldest sister to be the heir?” The bang guy said.
“No. I don’t want to be an heir. It’s too troublesome. I just want to spend my days lazing with this little fox. Play when bored, eat when I want, sleep when I want. The best lifestyle.” I nodded to myself.
“Pfttt…” The black-haired girl is trying to hold her laughter.
“You like this one?” The white head picked up the little fox by its scurf and it still not waking up.
“Yes.” I nodded. His lips then curl into a smirk.
“Then, I will leave it to you.” He put it back into my arms. “Don’t worry about me. Nothing will happen to me just because a small piece of my soul is missing.” He smirked.
“Really? Thank you very much, Tenko-san (Tenko = Celestial Fox).” I smiled.
“You know we are Tenko. Impressive.” The bang guy smiled.
“You are black Tenko…” I pointed to the bang guy, “And he is white Tenko.” I pointed to the other guy, “And this sister is Sukuna-biko (The goddess of healing).”
“Hoo… I can’t believe you can even guess what I am.” The big sister smiled.
“Well, Hisaki-chan…”
“Just Fuuka is fine.”
“Okay, Fuuka-chan, I guess I need a favour from you-“
“I know. I won’t tell the others that you are all Gods.” I knew what he was going to say. “Including my sister.” I finished.
“Well then, we best get going.” The bang guy laughed and started walking again.
“From now on, your name will be Tenko. Nice to meet you, Tenko.” I looked at the sleeping fox.
“Kyuu!” Tenko answered in his sleep.
“Hehe.” ~”~
“Fumi-nee. Are you alright?” I looked at my sister who was laying down on the floor like dead.
“No…more…” She moaned.
“Oi! You!” The shoji slid open, revealing Ebisu-dono. “The training hasn’t finished yet.”
“I don’t want to!” Fumi-nee cried out as her hands firmly planted on the door while being dragged by Ebisu-dono.
“You need to control your spiritual power.” Ebisu-dono gnashed his teeth. “I have never seen an idiot that blows up the whole building just to exorcise a small weak yokai.”
“It’s not my fault!”
“It’s your fault!” They argued.
“Kyuu…”
“Are you hungry? Want to eat inarizushi?” I looked at the small fox in my lap.
“Kyu!”
“I want to!” Fumi-nee replied.
“You need your training.” Ebisu-dono glared. “If you can’t master it today, no dinner for you.”
“No way…”
“Good luck, Fumi-nee.” I encouraged my sister who is being dragged away.
“…Demon…” Fumi-nee cried a river.
“Shall we go?”
“Kyu!”
The two of us go to the kitchen to see if there are some inarizushi. “Sorry, Fuuka-sama. There is no more inarizushi. Fukurojuku-sama just ate the whole thing.” Hifumi-san apologized.
“Kyuuuu….” Tenko’s folded its ears.
“Don’t worry. Let’s go buy some.”
“Kyu! Kyu! Kyu!” Tenko jumped into the top of my head and danced excitedly.
“Please be careful on your way, Fuuka-sama.”
“Yes. I will see you later.” I went back to my room to take a small purse. Now, the two of us are walking in the busy street, with Tenko resting on the top of my head.
“Four inarizushi please.”
“Right away.”
“It’s 670 yen.”
“Here you are.” I handed the store owner the bill.
“Thank you very much. Please come again.”
“Let’s go to the park,” I whispered.
“Kyu!”
So, now sitting on the bench park, Tenko is demolishing the inarizushi. Sometimes I wonder where all of the food went.
“Is it delicious?”
“Kyu!” It nodded.
“You are a messy eater.” I giggled as I picked the rice from the corner of its mouth.
“Kyu, kyu!” It was saying thank you and then continued to eat.
“Aren’t you the brat from Hisaki family?”
“Ah, Tenko-san.” I greeted in acknowledgement at the white-haired Celestial Fox.
“Kyu?” Tenko looked at me as I called out to the white-haired Celestial Fox.
“Ah, sorry, Tenko. I was not calling you.” I stroked its fur.
“…You named it Tenko?” The male asked in a deadpan tone.
“That’s right.” I nodded.
“Then, just call me Satoru.” Tenko-san, no, Satoru then plopped next to Tenko while eyeing it.
“Kyu!” Tenko quickly hid its food.
“I won’t take it from you.” Satoru rolled his eyes as I giggled.
“Tenko, sharing is caring.” I reprimanded softly.
“Kyuuu…” Tenko looked at me with pitiful eyes and then slowly and reluctantly broke a small piece of inarizushi to give it to its counterpart.
“I’d rather eat hers than yours.” Satoru snorted.
“Ah, you want mine?” I blinked owlishly. “Here.” I broke half of mine for him. Granted, it’s much larger than Tenko’s.
“I prefer sweets though.” He muttered under his breath.
“Oh… Sorry, I didn’t buy some.”
“…I don’t mean to rebuke you.” He shot back. “Ah, forget it.” Satoru stood up. I thought he was going to walk away until he stopped in front of me, bent down a little, took my hand which still holding Inarizushi and ate it. “…It’s more delicious than usual.” He mumbled.
“Want more?” I held out the other half. His eyes turned into slits for a split second.
“You can’t do that Satoru.” It’s the voice of the black Tenko. “You should treat her to a meal. Not the other way around.”
“Shut up, Suguru.” Satoru barked.
“Good evening, Ten-“
“Just call him Suguru.”
“Oh, okay. Good evening, Suguru.”
“Good evening Fuuka-chan. Are you also enjoying a walk?” He smiled kindly.
“No, I bought some inarizushi for Tenko to eat,” I answered.
“Tenko?” Suguru tilted his head.
“It’s the fox’s name,” Satoru explained to him.
“You named the fox Tenko?” Suguru asked again.
“Yes.”
“…It’s a very…unique name.” Suguru struggled to get the word out of his mouth.
“Want some?” I offered him the inarizushi leftover.
“That’s…”
“It’s mine.” Satoru chomped my hand, eating it all.
“Kyu!” Tenko suddenly flew to Satoru’s face, “Kyu! Kyu! Kyu!” and attacked him.
“You damn fox!”
“Why are you scolding yourself?” Suguru sweatdropped. “Let’s snap some pic for Shoko.” He then pulled out his phone.
“Tenko.” I called sternly.
“Kyuu…” Tenko backed down and planted itself on my lap. Its head is trying to nuzzle my palm.
“No.”
“Kyuuu…” Its eyes are watery now.
“My hand is greasy and dirty,” I told it. “Wait until I cleaned it first.”
“Kyu!” Tenko rummaged my purse for tissue which I always kept some just in case. “Kyu!” Then it presents the tissue for me.
“Thank you.” I smiled.
“It’s smarter and more gentlemanly than you.” Suguru looked at Satoru.
“It’s still me. It’s already in my blood to be a gentleman.” Satoru smirked.
“You just want to get the last word, don’t you?” Suguru sighed.
“Shall we eat more?”
“Kyu!”
“Okay, Taiyaiki it is then.”
“What? You are going to eat sweets? Then I am going too.” Satoru said.
“Satoru, it’s not a gentlemanly munching off from a girl.”
“I am going to treat her.” Satoru rolled his eyes. “Come here.” He demanded.
I blink once, twice and then stand in front of him. “Not close enough.” Satoru pulled me to him. “Hold tight.” He wrapped one of his hands around me. “We are going to fly.” With that warning, I tighten my hold on him.
We stop in the air. “Whoaa…” It’s my first time experiencing this. “Can you go higher?”
“I can, but it will be colder.”
“Oh, that’s too bad.” My smile dropped. Satoru then lands us on an inconspicuous spot near the said Taiyaki stall.
“Old man, I want five Taiyakis.”
“Oh, Satoru-kun. You are eating Taiyaki again today?” The stall owner asked with a laugh.
“I brought a guest today.” I peeked out from his back.
“Your girlfriend?” The stall owner teased.
“She is cute, isn’t she?” Satoru smirked. “Since I show you my cute girlfriend, you better give me some freebies.”
“Okay okay. I will throw in two free Taiyakis for you.” The stall owner laughed out loud. “Ojou-chan, what flavours do you want?”
I look at Satoru and see him nod. Then I pick some of my favourite flavours. The stall owner really did throw freebies for us.
“It’s delicious.” I can feel the harmonious flavour of the skin and the fillings.
“I know right? That was one of my favourite stalls.”
“You have many more?” I asked with sparkling eyes.
“Of course. I have a lot across Japan.” He said smugly.
“Then, when I go to a new place, I will ask you for a recommendation.” I beamed. “Oh…” My smile faded again.
“What’s wrong?”
“No, I just think how should I communicate to you? Can I use Tenko?”
“Kyu!” Tenko shook its head, opposing my suggestion.
“Why do you need this,” He picked up Tenko by its scurf again, “when you can use a phone?”
“Grrrr!!!!” Tenko growled at Satoru.
“But I don’t have your number.”
“Give it to me.” Satoru extended his palm to me.
“Here.” A while later, he gave it back with his contact in my phone, which listed as ‘The most Amazing Awesome Satoru.’
“Thank you, Satoru.” I flashed him a smile. “Ah, it’s already late. Tenko, we are going home.”
“Kyu.” Tenko perched on the top of my head again.
“I will take you home.” Satoru wrapped his hands around me again and in an instant, we were back at the front door of Hisaki Mansion.
“Teleportation…” I looked at him in awe.
“Well then, bye.” Satoru took his share of Taiyakis and disappeared. ~”~
You know a drama will happen in every big gathering of clans like this. The sad thing is, I am in the centre of the said drama.
“Oh my, look who’s coming here?” Female A snorted. “I thought it was the big shot of Sichifukujin master. It turns out, the spare part.”
“You forgot to add useless in front of spare part.” Female B giggled.
“Grrrr!” Tenko snarled.
“At least I am still a spare part, unlike you, non-recyclable trash. A completely worthless trash.” I smiled.
“You!” Female A’s face twisted into a rage.
“By the way, who you are again?” I frowned, trying to remember. “I have no idea which worthless trash you are. Please excuse me.” I saw Shoko waving to me and my eyes brightened.
“A perfect comeback.” Suguru praised me as soon as I was in earshot.
“Thank you. But I truly don’t know who are they. I just know they must come from some family that were always compared to me.”
“There’s no need for you to remember trash’s names.” Satoru sneered.
“Will do.” I beamed. For the duration of the gathering, I just spent my time hanging around with them. Watching Tenko and Satoru quarrel with each other.
“Fuu-chan.” Fumi-nee came over with her shikigamis.
“Oh, Fumi-nee.”
“Are you alright? Did she say something bad to you? I am sorry I couldn’t help you just now.” She apologized.
“It’s fine, Fumi-nee. I knew you were surrounded to even move an inch.” I smiled.
“I am just glad that you are okay…” She trailed off as she looked at my friends. Fumi-nee quickly pulls me to the side. “They didn’t do anything to you, did they?” She whispered.
“They aren’t. They are keeping me company. They are much better than those non-recyclable trash.” I answered.
“I see…” She smiled in relief. “…What are you doing, Ebisu?” Fumi-nee frowned at her shikigami. For some reason, Ebisu-dono is glaring at Satoru. No, not only Satoru, Ebisu-dono is glaring at the three of them.
“Ebisu-dono, is there any problem with my friends?” I stepped in between them.
“…No, it’s nothing.” He finally backed off. ~”~
“Fuuka…” Father sighed.
“Yes, Father?” I sat in seiza opposite of him. Father called me right after the gathering ended. I was vaguely aware of what he was going to talk about.
“Are you befriending with those sorcerers?”
“Yes. At least they have better manners than those non-recyclable trash.” I answered without missing a beat.
“…Haah…” Father exhaled a sigh. “I had high expectations of you. Even though your spiritual energy was not big, its quality is excellent. I did have an expectation that you could summon a better shikigami than a Yako…”
“Father, I have told you again and again. I have no interest in the heir position. That is Fumi-nee’s. No matter what, the fact she summoned all of Shichifukujin is worth praise. Tell me, which one of the previous generation is capable of this feat?”
“…”
“There was none. Fumi-nee is the first. She is the true heir of Hisaki family. No matter what you or other people say, it’s her destiny as the eldest child of Hisaki. Fumi-nee will properly lead Hisaki clan. She will become the strongest in her generation, maybe even in history.”
“Your eyes… Don’t tell me…”
“I can see nothing. That was the only dream I have been showed to.” I said. If I say something else, Father will keep pushing me as an heir. “I will keep supporting Fumi-nee as the second child of Hisaki clan.”
“…If you say so…” Father relented.
“You shouldn’t tell her to act and learn like me. Fumi-nee should be like Fumi-nee. That’s the best for her and Hisaki clan.”
“…Understood.” ~”~
Yes, this is the way it should be. Fumi-nee will take the spotlight like she is supposed to and I will support her from behind. But…
“Fuu-chan… I am sorry… I can’t bear it anymore…” Fumi-nee looked at me with tears streaming down her face.
“Fumi-nee…” I frowned.
“If…If you really consider me as your precious twin sister, please go away… leave Hisaki clan…” She sobbed. “I can’t bear to be kept compared to you…” She gripped my shoulders. “Even Ebisu said you were better than me. If you are here, I can’t be the only heir, I can’t be the only one, I want people to look at me, I want Ebisu to look at me, not you…” She cried. “That’s why… please… please disappear…”
“…I understand…” I nodded. “I will pack my suitcase now. The things I left should be thrown away and burnt.” I said.
“Will you really…” Fumi-nee looked at me wide-eyed.
“Yes. You are my sister after all. I will throw away Hisaki’s name too, if that would make you better. You can also cross me out from our family tree. Just tell father that I suddenly decided that myself.”
“Thank you… Thank you, Fuu-chan. I am sorry, I am sorry for being like this… I am sorry, Fuu-chan…” She cried.
“It’s fine, Fumi-nee.” I patted her head. “Help me pack my suitcase? Just take it as the last favour from your little sister.”
“Of course.” Fumi-nee nodded. ~”~
“So… where should I sleep tonight?” I looked at the night sky from a park, the park where we used to play together. Father is out for a business trip, so, I can easily sneak out with Fumi-nee’s help. From today onward, I am no longer Hisaki Fuuka. I am just a plain Fuuka.
“Kyuu…”
“What’s wrong?” I looked at Tenko. “Are you sad we can no longer laze around?”
“…kyuu..” It shook its head.
“Thank you for worrying about me.” I smiled. “Don’t worry. Fumi-nee said she would keep sending me pocket money for my livelihood. We still can laze around as long as we find an apartment.”
“…Kyuu…kyu…” Tenko suddenly pushed itself into my handbag and pulled out my phone. It even scrolled down the contact name until it stopped into The Most Amazing Awesome Satoru and then gave it to me. “Kyu!”
“You want me to call him?” I titled my head.
“Kyu! Kyu kyu!”
“Hmm… I don’t think Satoru would like to be involved in this kind of troublesome matter.” I put on an expressionless face.
“Kyu!” Tenko hit the call button, ignoring my musing.
“Moshi Moshi, Fuu-chan, are you going to have another round of sweet tours? If so, I will go to your house right now.” The other side of the person answered like this. It’s already a routine to us that I will call him if I want to have sweets, he will be the transportation and I will foot the bill.
“Sorry, Satoru. Tenko suddenly called you. I will hang up now.” I said as I ended the call.
“Kyu!” Tenko stomped its front foot out of frustration.
“Tenko, it’s not nice to involve other people in our trouble.” I sighed.
“And it’s even more rude to hang up on the call suddenly.” A new grumpy, pouting voice chimed.
“Ah?” I found Satoru is already in front of me.
“So, what’s with this suitcase? Running away from home? See, I told you those clans are annoying, it’s better to stay far away from them.” He gave a ‘I told you so’ face.
“Kyu!” Tenko flew to Satoru’s face. It’s going to share its memories with him. This can be done only by touching its paw or if Satoru wants, he actually can use Tenko’s body or see through Tenko’s eyes and see its memories. But Tenko needs to touch Satoru to share its senses and memories. As for why he flies to his face. It’s just how Tenko likes it.
“…This damn fox!” Satoru pulled away Tenko with a growl. “You can just share it normally.” These two are glaring at each other now.
“Kyu! Kyu kyu kyu!” Tenko flailed its limbs.
“…So, where are you going to stay from now on?” Satoru looked at me.
“I am going to stay in the hotel for the night and will search for an apartment starting tomorrow. Fortunately, it’s summer holiday now. I have the time to do it.”
“You just accepted the fact you were kicked out from your own clan because of your sister’s damn insecurity?” He hissed.
“I know I’d hate it too if I am being compared to. So, I understand her feeling.”
“But that doesn’t mean she has to kick you out!” He countered.
“It’s fine.” I shook my head. “I choose this myself. If I stayed there, Father would say something silly about me being an heir. I don’t want that position, so if I was kicked out and no longer from Hisaki clan, Father can’t do it anymore.” I smiled.
“…Let’s go.”
“Go to where?”
“My house. You are going to stay there from now on.”
“Won’t it be troubling you?”
“You won’t. Besides, this damn fox will keep calling for me if I don’t do this.” Satoru lifted Tenko by its scurf again.
“Kyu!” Tenko gave him its toothy smile.
“Then, I will have to trouble you.” Satoru then teleported us back right into his house. He, Suguru and Shoko are all neighbours, plus there are also some other Gods I have seen in this residential complex.
Satoru dropped us right in the middle of his living room, where Suguru, Shoko, and another two Gods with blonde and black hair watching TV, and munching snacks.
“Fuu-chan?” Suguru and Shoko blinked.
“Kon’nichiwa. Pardon for the intrusion.” I smiled sheepishly at my unannounced arrival.
“Satoru, explain this. Why did you kidnap Fuu-chan? I know she is cute and all, but-“
“Get your mind out of the gutter.” We could hear Satoru hollers from upstairs. He has taken my suitcase away.
“Please don’t blame Satoru. He was only helping me.” I quickly explained before the misunderstanding spiralled out of control.
“Aren’t I kind? I offer her a shelter. See how gentlemanly I am.” Satoru smirked as he praised himself.
“Tsk.” The blonde God who I learnt to be Nanami Kento-san clicked his tongue.
“You are really kind, Gojo-san.” The black-haired one, Haibara Yu nodded his head eagerly.
“Yu, don’t praise this blockhead or his ego will get bigger.” Shoko frowned.
“So, what are you going to do from now on?” Suguru asked me.
“Hmm… First, I will need to finish high school, then college and then get a job. Since Fumi-nee will keep sending support money, I won’t lack anything.” I said.
“So, if she suddenly changed her mind and cut off the support? What then?” Satoru knitted his forehead.
“Hmm… I don’t think she will do that. But I have actually opened another personal bank account without my family knowing, I always save some money over there. so, even if she suddenly cut off the support, it wouldn’t trouble me that much. I can use my savings.” I said.
“Well, I don’t think money will be a problem. You can exorcise some cursed spirits to make money.” Suguru smiled.
“That’s right. I can also do that.” I nodded.
“Your room will be on the second floor, beside mine,” Satoru said.
“The unused guest room finally makes its debut.” Shoko laughed.
“Thank you, Satoru, I will have trouble you for a while.” I thanked him.
“You are going to move out?”
“After I found an apartment. This place is like a safe haven for you, Gods. I don’t want to intrude too long.” I said.
*Flick* Satoru gives me a flick on my forehead. “Just stay however long you want to. No one would dare to say anything.”
“That’s right.” Suguru chuckled. “Besides, you are his master. So, it’s fine to take advantage of your shikigami.”
“Eh?” Haibara-san blinked.
“Oh? You didn’t notice? This small fox here is a part of Satoru, you know?” Suguru smiled amusingly.
“Yes, no, I mean, I feel like they are connected somehow, but I have never thought…” Haibara-san stammered.
“There you have it. Hisaki Fuuka-chan here is the master of this Dumber.” Shoko said unceremoniously.
“I am not a Hisaki anymore. I told Fumi-nee to cross me out from the family tree if that would make her feel better.” I interjected. “So, I am now only Fuuka.”
“You didn’t need to go that far.” Nanamin frowned.
“It’s fine. That was what I decided.” I shook my head, thankful for his thoughtful thought.
“Then, from now on, you are Gojo Fuuka. Since you are my master, using my name is not a big deal.”
“Oh? You are finally admitting Fuu-chan as your master?” Suguru teased.
“Shut up.” Satoru rolled his eyes. ~”~
I spent my summer break at Satoru’s house and we got closer as time went by. He is now more comfortable with physical touch. He likes to have his hair played while laying down on my lap, to which he has to fight with Tenko first, to see which one will have my lap today. But that activity is reserved when no one comes over. If there’s someone who comes over, he will just sit beside me, his designated seat is basically beside mine.
“Satoru, I made some shaved ice. What flavour of syrup do you want?” I asked the taller male who was lounging on the sofa, spreading his legs.
“Blue Hawaii.”
“Okay.” I pour the blue syrup over the shaved ice. Since Satoru allowed me to stay here for free. I think about what should I do to at least repay him. So, here I am, trying to cook or bake some sweets for him. It’s all still in the learning process though, but I managed to make the easiest one.
“Here.” I handed him his shaved ice. Satoru then makes a room for me to sit. The two of us just sit in silence, eating shaved ice while watching whatever is on the TV. I also feed Tenko from time to time.
“Satoru…”
“What?”
“Can I sleep on your lap too?”
“…what?” He blinked rapidly.
“I was just wondering. It’s fine if you don’t want to.”
“No. That’s not what I mean.” He said quickly. “I thought I heard it wrong.” He mumbled. “Come here.” He patted his thigh.
“Okay.” I laid down my head on his lap. “It’s pretty hard.”
“Because I am well defined.” He grinned. His hand automatically goes to my hair, playing with it. I let out a content hum as my eyes started to close.
‘This is nice…’
The next time I woke up, I was on a bed that smelled like wisteria flower, tucked with blanket. Tenko is sleeping beside me. “Satoru…” I mumbled as I made my way to the living room, with the wisteria-smelling blanket on me and Tenko in my arms. I heard loud voices from there, so he must be there.
“Fuu-chan, you are awake? Come here, we are having pizza.” Shoko called out to me. The living room is crowded with Satoru and his other friends as usual. I blink sleepily, walk past her and sit down on Satoru’s lap instead of the space she offered. I didn’t even notice they quieted down and stared at us wide-eyed.
“Why are you here if you are still sleepy?” Satoru grumbled but adjusted so I could sit more comfortably.
“Hungry…”
“Which one do you want?”
“The most delicious one…” I mumbled.
“…Here…” A pizza was brought to my mouth. “Why are you taking my blanket with you?”
“It smells good like you.” I nom’ed slowly at the offered pizza.
“…Eat slowly.”
“…mm…” I nodded.
“Damn fox. There’s none for you.” Satoru pushed Tenko away with his other hand.
“…So, you two did the deed?” Suguru was the first one to speak.
“Get your damn mind from dirty gutter. We did nothing.” Satoru growled at his best friend. After eating a slice of pizza, my mind is more sober.
“What is everyone watching?” I blinked.
“Some rom-com movie about onmyouji.” Suguru smiled.
“Oh… Is that fun?”
“It’s hella funny.” Suguru laughed. Thus I spent the rest of the day watching rom-com movies with them. ~”~
I thought I wouldn’t be meeting with my family anytime soon. But it’s sooner than expected. The onmyouji clans are hosting another big event again, It’s a competition match between heirs. In short, a show-off gathering. Well, it’s actually not only heirs but every child of the clans. But they are considered as exhibition matches. The main attraction is the match between heirs. So, why am I here? It’s because as usual, sorcerers are invited.
My entrance along with Sorcerers cause unsavory gossip to spread. Not that I mind much, as long as they don’t court death by talking it in front of me. Fumi-nee sends me a look and then approaches us, I know what she wants to ask.
“She is with me. Got a problem?” Satoru stepped out between us.
“But she is…”
“She came here not as Hisaki Fuuka nor a stray onmyouji. She has registered as one of us, Sorcerer. Her name now is Gojo Fuuka.”
“Oh…” This declaration caused another spark of gossip. Saying that I must sleep with Satoru to get a position. Well, it’s not wrong. I do sleep with him sometimes, like when we were napping together. Either he is on my lap or the other way around.
Since I am not in any clan anymore, I won’t be able to participate in the competition. So, I am just going to watch with other sorcerers.
“I request a match between Hisaki Fumiko and Gojo Fuuka.” Someone suddenly said. The instant, the whole gathering is in uproar. They all want to see the match between me and Fumi-nee.
“Tsk.” Satoru clicked his tongue.
“I also request a match between me and Fuu-c, Gojo Fuuka,” Fumi-nee said.
“That damn girl.” Satoru is hissing, Tenko is also growling while other sorcerers are frowning.
“I understand.” I sighed as I got up.
“You can’t be serious.” Satoru looked at me in disbelief.
“It’s fine.” I smiled. “In exchange, I also have a request,” I said. The onmyouji clans are frowning this time. “Don’t worry, I won’t ask for getting back Hisaki name,” I said. “Instead, after this match, please don’t bother me again and don’t talk or gossip about me or these people. That is my request.”
“I swear on my name as Hisaki Fumiko and as the heir of Hisaki clan.”
“Thank you,” I said. I stepped down to the arena and Fumi-nee did the same.
“Seeing as you only own one shikigami, I shall fight with only one shikigami too,” Fumi-nee said.
“Thank you for your generosity,” I said calmly.
Fumi-nee chooses Bishamonten instead of Ebisu, the strongest. Well, let’s just finish this quickly and they won’t bother me ever again. It’s ironic, seeing we are still wearing the matching accessories that we bought for each other on our 18th birthday.
Bishamonten, the god of war, fighting with Tenko, a yako. This is just a joke for all of them to see. Though I don’t plan on hurting Tenko. Even though I don’t have the same quantity of spiritual power as Fumi-nee, the quality of my spiritual power is much higher. If spiritual were to be ranked, it would look like this.
Hisaki Fumiko
Quantity: EX
Quality: A
Gojo Fuuka
Quantity: C
Quality: EX
With my quality being the highest, I have an easier time refining my spiritual power to the finest detail. And that’s what I am going to do throughout this battle. Fumi-nee might have more in quantity and I don’t know how much better her control has improved, but I still can put up quite a fight.
“Kyuu…”
“You stay here.” I smiled at the fox in my arms. I begin to construct a barrier around me, Bishamonten has noticed it and flew straight to me. in exchange, instead of a barrier, I turn the spiritual power into a spear, meeting him head-on. The impact causes a loud explosion and flying dust and smoke.
“Not bad.” Bishamonten landed on his feet safely, but I have no plan for dilly-dallying. I have already begun to weave another spell. I throw out some talisman papers to act as a distraction. They are going to fire small energy balls to them, giving me some time to finish my spell.
Countless spears begin to form behind me. Each of them contains the five elements, fire, earth, gold, water, and wood. “Too slow.” Bishamonten with his large bastard sword, shot through the cloud of smoke and dust, aiming straight at me.
But countless chains spring through the ground, wounding themselves onto him. “What!”
I weaved two spells at the same time, for the elemental spears and binding. Now he enters the designated territory, the binding spell is activated.
“Bishamonten!” Fumi-nee prepared herself to fire a large energy ball. I command one of my elemental spears to hinder her. Fumi-nee concentration is weak. She won’t be able to dodge and attack at the same time. My aim is not to fight them face-on. This is all distraction. As long as I can get Fumi-nee out of the ring, it will be my win. This is the rule after all. So, the gold spear will aim for the ground.
“Eh? Kyaa!” Fumi-nee screamed as she lost balance.
“Master!” Bishamonten is also distracted by his master’s scream and I slammed the rest of the elemental spears on him. He won’t die, will he? He is still one of the Sichifukujin after all.
“It’s my win, isn’t it?” I looked at now ring out Fumi-nee.
“No…way…” She looked at me wide-eyed.
“Are you alright?” I extended my hand to Fumi-nee.
“…You…hypocrite!” She slapped my hand away.
*thump*
“I don’t need your pity. You said you aren’t going to take anything away from me. But you embarrassed me here, in the end, you took everything away!” She hissed. “You are a liar!” Fumi-nee pulled herself up.
The pain in my heart is more painful than the physical pain I just received.
“Fuu-chan!!!” I was snapped awake from my daze by a scream. But it was too late, a large shikigami hand, which I recognized as my father’s swung its fist at me, knocking me all the way to the other side.
“*cough**cough*” All air was knocked out from my lungs with that one impact. My body is in pain.
“I have no child like you.” Father spat out and then walked away.
“Fuu-chan!” My friends rushed to me. But Satoru is especially angry, he looks ready to kill. His glacial blue eyes are shining eerily.
“Sa…toru…” I struggled to call out his name.
“Don’t talk first. Let me heal you.” Shoko scolded.
“…No…Satoru… You can’t…” I tried to speak again. If he rampages here and now, he will expose himself and the others as Gods. Those elders of the clans will then want to covet him and the others.
I don’t know if my worry was heard or if he decided they weren’t worth killing in exchange for exposing his secret, Satoru walks to me. “Can you heal her?” He asked Shoko.
“Yeah, I will definitely patch her up. Let’s go back first.” Shoko said.
“Let’s go.” Satoru slipped his arm under my knees and back, lifting me up with ease. “Sleep. You will be fine after you wake up.” My body followed his command and I fell asleep just like that. ~”~
After the whole fiasco, I often find myself in a daze. Father… no he is not my father anymore. The voices of the current head of the Hisaki clan and the heir are ringing in my ears.
“You hypocrite!”
“Hypocrite!”
“Hypocrite!”
“I have no child like you!”
“Kyuu…” Tenko nuzzled its soaking-wet fur to my cheek, trying to give me some warmth.
“Ah… It’s raining…” I mumbled. I don’t even notice the sky is pouring down.
“Fuu…” I heard a familiar set of footsteps and voices. I turn around and see the same soaking-wet Satoru. “Come here…” He held out his hands. My feet automatically walk to him.
“*sob*” A choked sob escaped my lips as soon as my head was buried in his chest, and my hands fisted his black uniform.
“I am here. It’s okay, I won’t be leaving you…” He repeated the same words over and over again like a mantra. I don’t remember how we got back, except that I cried a lot. Shoko who has been worried sick of my sudden disappearance, is now scolding me which was joined by Nanamin and Suguru.
Then I was ushered to have a warm bath by the said doctor. Have my hair dried by Suguru and being coddled just by everyone. I know it’s their own form of comforting me. Something I have never thought I need. And Satoru grows more overprotective of me. I lost a family, but at the same time, I gained another family. The world truly works in a weird way, but I was strangely at peace. ‘I hope this peace will last forever.’
After that incident, the Sorcerers refused to attend any gathering of onmyouji clans again. They cut any contact coming from them, so they wouldn’t upset me.
“Satoru.” I peered up at him from my position, which was lying atop his body, with feet tangled to each other, Tenko was sleeping peacefully on the side.
“Hm?” Satoru hummed, his hand not ceasing to stroke my hair.
“I have met you once before, right? A long time ago.”
Satoru halted his movement and peered down at me. “Really?”
“Yeah, you kicked me back to the human world.” I nodded.
“I did not kick you back.” He denied. “I sent you back peacefully.”
“You did.” I huffed. “You literally kicked me out after taking me to the boundaries.”
“…I…” Satoru was rendered speechless.
“You did, right?”
“…Yeah… I did…” he sighed in defeat.
“So… was that promise still valid?”
“Fuu… That’s…”
“Was that promise of going to take me as a bride still valid?” I stared at his mesmerizing eyes.
“Do you still want to be my bride?” Satoru whispered.
“I won’t be asking if I don’t want to,” I answered.
“You becoming my bride meaning you will cease to be human. You will be neither human nor a god. But you will be a being that is closer to God.”
“Like a spirit?”
“It can be said like that, but you are in a higher level of normal spirit.” He sighed. “And that’s not all. Becoming my bride also means you will share your life together with me, you will basically be immortal like me. You will live as long as I live.”
“…If…if living forever means spending my time by your side forever, it doesn’t seem that bad,” I said. “Even though you said immortal, I will still die if I receive a fatal wound, won’t I?”
“Yeah, it’s the same case with every other god. The only difference is that gods can be reborn as long as they have faith. But you, Fuu, might perish completely, even your soul. It’s important to place a spell on you so that you can be reborn again as a human.”
“Will you be reborn too?” I asked softly.
“No.”
“Why?”
“Unlike other Tenkos who were born from normal foxes and trained to be Tenko. I was born as Tenko. Something that is unprecedented. I am an abnormal existence even in the realm of Gods. So, I am not even sure what will happen after my death.”
“Then even more so you should spend your life happily,” I said. “And I am happy when I am with you. In the end, Satoru, you and I are pretty similar.” I smiled. “We didn’t know what would happen after our death. So, I’d rather spend time with someone who makes me happy.”
“…You really…” Satoru sighed. “A fox is very possessive of his person, especially if that person is his spouse. The moment you bound yourself to me, you won’t be able to escape anywhere. No matter where you run, I will still find you and plant you by my side. It sounds romantic in theory, but it’s not. It’s like having a yandere following you everywhere.”
“But I like having a yandere Satoru.” My lips curled into a smile.
“…” Satoru blinked once, twice and then a blush spread on his cheeks.
“So, will you take me as your bride now? Or should I take you as my bride? I don’t mind either way.”
“You won’t regret it?”
“I won’t. Even if I say I will, it’s not like you will be letting me go.” My mouth twitched. His tails which somehow came out without me noticing have tangled themselves into me, preventing me from getting up from this position, much less running away.
“Well then…” Satoru flipped his body, so I was now lying on my back. His nine tails, some are pinning my hands above my head, some are wrapping themselves to my legs, some are sensually sliding up and down on my thighs, some are even rubbing themselves into my private parts, eliciting a mewl out of me.
Satoru’s nose flared as he heard that sound and his pupils turn to slits. A feral growl is coming out from his throat. “Satoru…”
“I told you, I won’t let you go even if you regret it now.” He let out a possessive growl.
That low voice of his makes me shiver and I unconsciously try to rub my thighs which was actually rubbing to his soft fluffy tail instead and it creates even more pleasurable friction. “Not that.” I shook my head. “…What about Tenko?” My head cocked to the side where Tenko is still snoring away.
“…Let’s kick this damn fox out.” Satoru smiled. Tenko sensing the impending danger opens its eyes and huffs and then butts its head to Satoru’s hand.
“…” Satoru looks at the small fox blankly. “You want to come back?” He blinked.
“What does it say?” I sat up, still being tangled by the tails though.
“It weighs the pros and cons of being a separate part of my soul. And now decided it’s better to merge back with me.”
“Oh… Tenko is going to vanish then…” Disappointment is evident in my deflated tone.
“Well… It won’t be necessarily like that.” Satoru said.
“What do you mean?” I blinked.
“Wait a moment.” Satoru grabbed Tenko and opened his mouth to eat it.
“What are you doing?!” It was the first time that I raised my voice in surprise.
“…Taking back my soul?” Satoru tilted his head.
“…Can you use other ways aside from eating?” I sweatdropped.
“Then…” Tenko then turns into a ball of light and is absorbed back into Satoru’s body. Satoru then plucks some fur from his tail and turns the said fur into…
“Tenko!!” I gasped in surprise seeing Tenko again.
“I absorbed my soul back. Now this is sort of my clone without my soul. But it has the memories of it being Tenko.” Satoru explained.
“Thank you, Satoru.” I picked up Tenko and rubbed its cheek into mine.
“Well, now that it’s all settled.” Satoru plucked Tenko from my arm by its scurf and threw it out of the room, ignoring its cry of protest. “Now, I am going to spend a lovely time with my beloved bride. There shouldn’t be any interruption from vulgar fox.” Satoru smirked. Again, I was trapped by the tails in the same position again, except this time, the owner of the said tails was unbuttoning my shirt.
“You know, Fuu, there was some kind of stupid myth that said how long a fox mated to its mate according to how many its tails were. I think I should have made that stupid myth become reality now.”
“I don’t think there was a myth like that,” I mumbled, averting my eyes, and feeling my cheeks warm up at his statement.
“That’s why I said it was a stupid myth.” Satoru’s tail came up to caress the newly exposed skin and flesh, while his hands were already on the next stage, pulling down my shorts.
“Well then, my bride, shall we enjoy our honeymoon?” Satoru nipped my inner thigh. “I will make sure to drown you in my love within these nine days.” He chuckled. “Until you can’t live without me.” ~”~
“Ah, they are finally coming out from their love nest,” Suguru commented as he saw his best friend finally emerge from his veiled bedroom after nine whole days. He wonders if Fuu-chan is alright. His best friend’s way of showing love is rather extreme. Satoru is the holder of the title unequalled. Not like he, himself is any different. It’s just he hasn’t found who is worthy of his love yet.
“…What happened to Fuu-chan?” Shoko looked at Satoru accusingly.
“She is fast asleep. Won’t be waking up soon.” Satoru plopped on the sofa, spreading his legs.
“She… was not broken, right?” Nanamin was actually worried about that girl whom he considered a little sister.
“I won’t break my wife, Nanamin.” Satoru rolled his eyes, but he understood the concern. “The moment I have taken her as my bride, she ceased to be human. She won’t break because of simple matter.”
“…Having sexual intercourse for 9 days straight is no simple matter. Not even Gods can handle it.” Nanamin commented dryly.
“E…eeeeehhhh?!” Haibara Yu, the most innocent one, blushed at the blatant statement of his friend.
“Fuu is not just normal God or human, she is my wife.” Satoru giggled.
“This makes me feel irritated, but that actually sounds really convincing.” Nanamin sighed. He didn’t know what kind of luck or bad luck Fuuka acquired for her to be bound by the most abnormal existence in God's realm. Speaking of abnormal existence, there is also another one here, his other friend, Geto Suguru.
“Speaking of Fuu-chan…. She was the little kid that got lost in God's realm back then, no?” Suguru smirked.
“…Ah…” Realization dawned on Shoko first. “No wonder she looks familiar. She was that little girl that would only go back to the human realm after making Satoru promise to take her as a bride.”
“Ah? The legendary kid that I heard the gossip of?” Yu blinked.
“More accurately, she was saying, ‘Promise me you will take me as your bride when I have my 18th birthday, or if you don’t come, I will come and take you as my bride.’ That’s what she said.” Suguru refreshed their memories.
“…Haaaa…” Nanamin exhaled a long sigh.
“By making that promise, Fuu can already be called my bride. But since the ceremony was not completed, it can be broken by either her or me.”
“Eh? But usually, humans wouldn’t be able to break a promise to God, even though it was incomplete.”
“Fuu’s spiritual power quality is what makes it possible. Rather, it was also because of her highest quality of spiritual power that enabled her to cross over to God's realm.” Satoru explained.
“So, what is the ceremony that needs to be completed for Fuu-chan to become the official bride?” Innocent Haibara Yu asks this question with pure curiosity.
“…There was an official Fox Wedding ceremony, but it’s more just for a show. The real ceremony was having the bride ingest the body fluid of the groom. It ranges from simply letting the bride eat something that the groom has touched to kissing to what Gojo-san did to Fuu.” Nanamin explained.
“…What Gojo-san did to Fuu-chan…?” Haibara titled his head and 10 seconds later, he understood the meaning. “O…oh…” he is now a blushing mess again.
“What are you going to do now?” Suguru turned to his best friend.
“Cleaning up some trash who hurt my bride of course.” Satoru snorted.
“Won’t Fuu-chan feel sad?” Shoko frowned. It’s not like she was against this idea, but they need to consider Fuu-chan’s feelings.
“Even if we can’t touch Hisaki clan, we still can touch other clans, can’t we?” Satoru smiled darkly. “Let’s start with those who badmouth Fuu.” ~”~
“…nngh…” I felt a feather light touch on my face. “…Satoru…?” I cracked my eyes open to see Satoru smiling upon my awakening.
“Did you sleep well?”
“…Really well…” I yawned and stretched my body as I sat up. Satoru doesn’t miss his chance to let his eyes roam upon my body. A body that he made love to …how many days ago?
“How long I was asleep?”
“Not long, just 3 days,” Satoru answered nonchalantly.
“…It’s not normal for humans to sleep for 3 days straight.”
“You are not human anymore.”
“…Oh…” I forgot about this bit.
“Are you regretting it now?” Satoru cupped my cheek.
“No.” I nuzzled into his palm. “I simply forgot about it. It will take some time to get used to the fact that I am not human. But I will be alright, because, you will be with me, won’t you?” I smiled.
“Yeah, I am your husband now. Of course I am going to be with you for every step you take, my bride.” He chuckled as he pressed a kiss to my nose.
“I haven’t bathed for 3 days, I stink.” I scrunched my nose.
“No worries, I clean you up daily.” He giggled. “I even changed the sheet already.”
“…And you don’t even think of putting some sleepwear on me?” I raised my brow.
“You look very gorgeous like this. Why should I cover up this beautiful bride of mine, hm? Your body is a work of art. The most exquisite and bewitching art I laid my eyes on. It’s a blasphemy to even think covering up such a marvellous art.”
“I still have to cover up when going out, Satoru.” I giggled. “This sublime piece of art is only available for your eyes only.”
“That makes absolute sense.” He pulled me closer so I could straddle his lap. His hold on my hip just screams a certain type of possessiveness that makes you crave more.
“Your body is also for my eyes only. Do not let other people see even an inch of your skin.” I don’t know why I can even spout possessive words like this. But, isn’t it normal for me to feel possessive of my own husband?
A mirth (read. dark glee) is reflected in his eyes. “It’s nothing to be worried of, my bride.” Satoru soft chuckle brought me back. “It’s normal for every creature to feel possessive of what is theirs.”
“I think so too.” I nodded. Well, it’s a totally normal feeling to have.
“Let’s dress you up first, shall we? I have a gift waiting for you.”
“Shower together?” I batted my eyelashes at him.
“If that’s your wish.” He gave me a forehead kiss.
“It’s a command.”
“As you will.” Satoru chuckled as he carried me up to the bathroom. The two of us take our time to soak ourselves thoroughly in the bathtub. I wonder if next time Satoru will allow me to wash his tails or we can soak together with his tails out, but it will be pretty crowded.
“What are you thinking of, my bride?” Satoru turned my head to look at him.
“Just thinking if you would let me wash your tails sometimes, or we can soak together with your tails and ears out. But I think it will be a little too crowded for the second option.” I answered truthfully. I see no point lying to him about this.
“I will change this to a bigger size and then you can have your wish granted.” Satoru grinned.
“I will hold onto your promise.”
“Of course.”
After the leisure bath, Satoru finally takes me to where he said my gift is. He brings me to a place near the residential complex. Inside that place, I see familiar people being tied up and their mouths are being stuffed with pieces of clothes.
“Hhhhmmm!! Hhhhmmmmm!!!” They screamed, but I didn’t understand what they were screaming about.
“This is your gift.” Satoru chuckled.
“My gift?” I looked at Satoru and then to them again. The two people that were tied up are the current head of Hisaki clan and the heir of the said clan. “…Where are their shikigamis?” I blinked.
“Ah? They? They are all dead.” Satoru cackled.
“Oh…” I only answered with one syllable. “So, why did you bring them here?” I asked again.
“It’s your gift, my bride. It’s up to you what to do with them. If you want me to let them go, it’s also not a problem.”
“Let them go…”
“Hhhhmmm!!!!! Hm! Hhhhmmmm!!!!!” Their screams became louder.
“Hmm… I don’t know…” I frowned.
“Oh?” Satoru cocked his eyebrow.
“I was so sad some time ago. But now, I don’t feel anything to them. Not even hatred. It’s like all the negative emotions I had to them vanished.” I knitted my brows. “Hmmm… Satoru, was this because I ceased to be a human?”
“Yeah, a little bit.” He nodded.
“Oh…” I made an ‘o’ shape mouth. “Well, I don’t really care about what will happen to them now. I have no interest in Hisaki clan anyway. just make sure they stay far away from us. I don’t want them to disturb our lives.”
“Do you mind if I kill them?”
“Hhhhmmm!!!!! Hhhhhhmmmm! Hhhhmmmm!!!!! Hhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!” Their screams became more frantic. Their eyes are also bulging out as if they will pop out from their sockets.
“I don’t mind. Do what you like. Ah, but don’t get any blood on you or the clothes okay? It stinks.” I said. “I still want to wear your clothes, it’s comfy.”
“Will do, love.” He chuckled at my command. “Want to stay and watch.”
“Okay.” I nodded.
“Then, I will show you how dazzling and charming I am when I kill for you.”
“More charming than when making the mess out of me on the bed?” I giggled.
“I guess it’s a little less charming than that.”
“If you were to say you were more charming when you killed for me, then I won’t allow you to ever kill again.” My lips curl into a smile.
“Why?”
“Because then they will see how charming and dazzling, won’t they?” I raised my brow in amusement. “You are only allowed to show your charming and dazzling side to me.” My smile turned dark. “Even if they are going to die, they aren’t allowed to see you all charming and dazzling.”
Satoru makes an ‘o’ shape mouth as he looks at me with eyes wide, sparkling with joy, happiness and all positive emotions ever exist. “Come here, my bride.” Satoru pulled me into a smothering hug, something I like because I can feel safe within his arms (read. confinement)
“Aren’t you a little darling? Do you know how aroused I am right now, hm? I just want to take you right here and now.” He whispered in my ears.
“I prefer being on the bed. It’s comfier and I like it when your tails have their ways with me.” I whispered back. Satoru’s eyes dilate and turn to slits. A low primal growl that I had heard in those 9 days is here again.
“Let me take care of them real quick and we can have our fun, yeah.”
“Okay, be quick.”
Omake 1
“Satoru, let me sleep on your tails.”
“No, sleep on my thighs.”
“Your thighs are hard. I want to sleep on your soft fluffy beautiful tails.”
“Still no. Here, sit on my lap then, my chest is a perfect makeshift pillow.”
“It’s still hard.” I pouted. “I guess I will sleep on Tenko’s tail then. Even though it’s small.” I sighed dejectedly.
“No, you aren’t allowed to sleep on that thing’s tail.”
“But you won’t let me sleep on yours.”
“…Fine, you win. Come here.” Satoru sighed.
“Thank you, Satoru.” I gave him a kiss on his cheek as his tails bloomed out. “It’s soft and fluffy.” I took a deep breath and relaxed my body on it. Not long after I am out like a light.
“…How come she likes my tails more than me…” Satoru grumbled, but the tails behind him were slowly stroking his bride’s hair, making sure she was feeling the most comfortable while sleeping.
Omake 2
“Satoru, let me brush your tails.” I came to him with a brush ready in my hands, my eyes were sparkling.
“…Okay, come here.” Satoru couldn’t refuse my request and knew I would pester him every day. So, the sooner I got what I wanted, the better.
“Hehehe…” I giggled excitedly. Satoru has his back to me while his tails are blooming beautifully. I sit on the floor and start brushing the tails’ coats one by one. I don’t know how or when but, I was just thinking to brush the base of the tails so I moved closer and closer and somehow, I am now sitting on some of the fluffy tails, still trying to brush them. But some tails are very uncooperative. They keep touching me in very intimate places.
Some are under my, no Satoru’s oversized button-up shirt which I have taken as my sleepwear or comfy wear in the house. It’s still okay if they are just under the shirts, but they are caressing the skin under my breasts, sometimes maybe accidentally brushing my nipples. Some are tickling my butt and my thighs, some are even more troublesome, they are trying to get inside my shorts.
“…nnnh…”
“Love, are you trying to seduce me with that voice of yours?” Satoru asked without even looking at me.
“You did that on purpo...oh…se” I let out a small whimper when I felt one of the tails manage to get inside my shorts and panties.
“What are you talking about? Don’t you know, fox’s tails are individual beings?” I could hear his teasing tone.
The brush clatters on the floor after I dropped it. “Wait, don’t take off my-!!!” I let out another gasp as the tip of the tail rubbed my bare privates, causing a small wet patch on its coat. My shorts and panties were thrown to the side.
“Oh, aren’t you lovely, looking messy like this?” Satoru finally looked at me with a wicked grin on his face.
“…meanie…” I gave up struggling and let his tails have their way with me.
“So adorable and messy like this. My bride is so cute.” He cooed and finally had his tails transferred me into his awaiting arms after making a mess out of me. My whole body is flushing and warm.
“I just brushed your coats,” I grumbled.
“Nah, they look better drenched in your essence, my bride.” His eyes gleamed. “And so am I.” And it’s another passionate night of a Celestial Fox drowns his bride in his love.

Custom Toonami Block Week 149 Rundown
Spy X Family: So yeah Anya’s got midterms and if she does really well she gets a gym badge but if she fails she gets an anti-gym badge for every subject she flunked so wiping out means she’d be halfway to failing entirely. The family gets Yuri to tutor her and makes some feigns towards plot progression from the dog arc but honestly I kinda really like the Yuri/Anya dynamic, like they’re both completely unhinged in the exact opposite ways so one of them is always saying something crazy as soon as the other comes back to sense. Though even though he manages to give her some motivation, Anya’s basically the opposite of a Mary Sue and is terrible at everything and can never improve so it doesn’t really work. They also mention that she loses her powers during a New Moon like she’s fucking Inuyasha or something but she hasn’t really been reading minds during tests in the first place, like initially she said she just didn’t know who was good at what subject yet so she wasn’t sure whose mind to read but it’s MID-TERMS I feel like she should probably have a good idea by now but even on other tests where she has her powers she’s doing crappily. Also there’s this weird little skit where Loid’s following this guy that’s a terrible spy trying to break in and change the grades while he’s ALSO trying to break in and change the grades and it just kinda makes everything more difficult. This guy strikes me as the kind of guy that thinks he’s a Rogue in a D&D campaign and he can just bluff and duck his way into top level shit completely ignoring the reality of how tight real security is. The guy’s ego’s so big he just lets Loid go as a witness and Loid just undoes the work he was doing to make the Desmond kids fail (which Loid theorizes was done by a political rival but I’mma say it was Desmond himself kicking his kids in the teeth because he’s an asshole and is like ‘failure will make you stronger, try sucking less’ because it would be more dramatic) Loid’s about to change Anya’s grades but he finds out she just barely passed everything so he lets her keep the mediocre score she earned because if he suddenly made her good enough to get a gym badge it’d be hella suspicious and not getting any anti-gym badges is best case scenario really. Though they show her grades and they’re in… the 30s? Like they show they’re still on a 100 point scale so like, how is a 30 passing? Everywhere I’ve been under a 60 is an F and some are more strict than even that so what kind of education system for this snobby prep school lets kids get away with 30s?
Inuyasha: So this episode is basically the fallout of everyone being like ‘wait was that fucking Kikyo?’ last episode, Not!Kikyo wipes out all of Abi’s birds and just kinda runs off and we get the usual ‘oh gosh Kikyo was mentioned so Inuyasha’s gonna be wistful for three episodes and Kagome’s gonna be mildly annoyed at everything because neither of them can make up their damn minds’ which to be fair they kind of curtail the period of it at this point in the series but after seeing it so often it’s really getting old, especially since her supposed death at Mt. Hakurei had its own little mini-arc, like we keep giving Kikyo closure and she keeps just coming back. But yeah they head off to meet her and Inuyasha’s kinda wishy-washy about wanting to go so he separates from the others to down some mook demons that only take him like five seconds anyway and he meets Kikyo’s avatar and her new attendants and turns out they’re all just Shikikami and Kagura’s happy to see Kikyo’s probably still alive because that pisses Naraku off but she gives up because she’s definitely not ten feet away in a Minority Report pool. Kagome gets through a barrier to see the REAL Kikyo who’s in a Minority Report pool trying to sleep off the poison and… death I guess.
Yu Yu Hakusho: This one’s a super exposition-heavy episode and spoilers but at the end we learn that part or all of it might be bullshit so it feels like one of those Attack on Titan episodes where they spend the whole episode planning a thing and then it just goes tits up at the very end of the episode and they have to wing it anyway. Essentially the three bald men that visit Yusuke are guys basically as strong as him and Hiei/Kurama but they’re using demonic pacemakers to put them on mook level so the barrier lets them through. In Demon World there’s three kings, the ‘let’s not eat humans’ guy, the ‘let’s maybe eat humans in moderation’ guy and the ‘let’s eat all the humans’ guy, and luckily Yusuke’s ancestor is the first one and not the last one but that also means he’s dying because he’s essentially been on a GOOP diet of bullshit for the past thousand years and that means war’s about to break out thanks to the power vacuum in Demon World. Now basically most of what Yusuke heard of all that is these bald-headed freaks think they’re stronger than him so he demands a fight. Turns out the leader’s ability is basically Luffy if he was in Parasyte the Maxim and he does some bullshit to tie Yusuke up and stab him in a despite still wearing his demon pacemaker and neither me or Yusuke buy that shit and he just fucking breaks the guy’s neck and asks if they love their king so much how come they still eat humans against his wishes. It’s a pretty good moment of Yusuke putting on his Phoenix Wright hat and actually outsmarting the bad guys while they’re still in the ‘we’re the new arc villains and we’re stronger than you’ phase so yeah he calls out them lying to him and puts them on the spot for how much of the story is exactly true.
Jujutsu Kaisen: Megumi and blind archer guy are having their fight and there’s more clan rich people eugenics bullshit and blind guy has the power of Gear Second and Deadman Wonderland and just wants his slutty mom to be a slutty happy mom Megumi’s just like ‘fuck you and your slutty mom you’re not killing my friend’ but uhh yeah I’ve been comparing this arc to the Chunin Exams and we’re officially at the Sand Village attacking part because the big boss spirit and all the other spirits they were supposed to be hunting get wiped out by the one-armed spirit’s Wood Style and they erect a specifically anti-Gojo barrier to keep his overpowered ass out of this fight. So yeah Scar-sensei and old dude go in to help and apparently old dude wields the power of Goofy Goober Rock which makes that one scene in the opening make a lot more sense in retrospect. Megumi, Blind Dude and Sushi Boy get swept up by the one armed cursed spirit and turns out they’re basically the reverse of a Captain Planet villain and just want people to stop polluting and shit and they’ll kill them all and more surprisingly a GIRL, I mean this is why cartoons give everything female long eyelashes because I couldn’t fucking tell and I guess she’s just got her tits out all the time but she’s got enough muscle that it doesn’t matter. So yeah we’ve got one of the main boss henchmen dropping in to say hello and judging by the preview and the opening she’s gonna head to Yuji next time, weird since I thought their plan was to trap Gojo in a Hyper Cube and you’d figure literally isolating him from everyone else would make a great time to try that but we’ll see I guess.
Zom 100: So this one’s kind of a rough one, like I’ll probably get to it at the end but there’s a lot of good points for this episode but also some stuff that bugs me a bit. Akira and Kencho have made a little mancave on top of the roof from last episode and inexplicably the power STILL works, like my god whoever’s keeping the electricity on during the zombie apocalypse deserves a raise. Kencho finds Akira’s bucket list and starts adding his own stuff to it, saying he’s going to see Akira’s journey through to the end now. They talk about the list a bit and how Akira has dating a flight attendant on the list because I guess that’s a fetish? But turns out Akira has never had a girlfriend at all and stupidly tells Kencho he’ll have one by the end of the day. So shelving that they decide to go shopping for a big-screen tv and end up trapped in a department store with one shady guy and three ladies who happen to be… flight attendants! Like I joked at the beginning of this show that Akira’s just had a mental break and there are no zombies and he’s just insane but if this world is real it really does seem to be bending to fit his crazy ideas. So yeah, the oldest and objectively coolest flight attendant gets drunk and bitten by the shady guy when he turns into a zombie and Kencho just straight up bangs the other one in the mattress department while Akira has a tender moment with the moe-est of them right after she makes it super clear there’s no romantic connection. Still they talk and Akira gives his usual deal about not letting your dreams be dreams and gets this girl excited to continue living her dream… just in time for her to die by getting bitten by the shady guy. Now notably they don’t make Akira mercy kill her, this is still mostly a comedy series and we’re not trying to heap Carl Grimes levels of trauma on our genki protagonist bur yeah she admits she’s content with the fun date they had and got to make people feel better during her job so she’s okay with Akira and Kencho getting the hell out of dodge, with Akira wanting to find out what his childhood dream was since Kencho has one and the moe attendant girl gave a pretty good speech about her own motivations and Akira admits to himself that his advertizing dream was just him getting caught up in a drive for success rather than something he really wanted to do. So yeah, cool story but like it’s hard to ignore this whole episode is just a long drawn out way to fridge these three girls, like straight up SAO Saki traumadumping by making these girls as moe as possible without giving them too much character development so we feel just bad enough when they die and it feels a little manipulative for a series that zig-zags how serious the zombies actually are so it leaves a slight sour taste in my mouth, like I can see the cogs of manipulation turning but that doesn’t mean they aren’t still effective cause damn it was sad to watch those girls die.
Ranking of Kings: Daida!Bosse is telling Snake Guy about how Miranjo’s family is from a kingdom that is the origin of magic and as such they were like ‘man fuck the gods’ and went to the Asshole Kingdom to recruit assholes to help them fight the gods but the Assholes of Asshole Kingdom were, shocker, asssholes, and turned on them and killed Miranjo’s mom as soon as things looked bad. Also all the gods are giant dudes that wear masks similar to Ouken’s, not sure if that’s relevant.Hilling meets back up with Spear Guy, Sword Guy, and Kirito and gets hyped for Bojji’s new powers while healing Spear Guy and sending the three of them off to help Bojji who is meanwhile still fighting Ouken. Despa and the Guard Captain show up because Bojji’s got this but he’s basically fighting that one round of the Seath the Scaleless fight where he just heals infinitely and it sucks. Though it turns out Despa has no practical power of his own and was calling in an airdrop from Desha this whole time so I guess he related to Bojji a lot more than we thought. Ouken’s figured out how to get around the lightning spam and stabs both Despa and the captain to let them bleed out because that’s his favorite thing to do despite killing anyone in this series already being hard enough without your main technique being ‘death monologue sword’ like I get it’s basically a pacifist series that promots Bojji’s kind-heartedness as the way of the future but people keep dodging these bullets so often I don’t have any confidence anyone’s actually going to die. Anyway Ouken goes after Kage next and manages to stab Bojji in the leg when he goes to protect him so now Bojji can’t dodge which is like his whole thing, but Kage turns into a giant shadow creature and eats Ouken so there’s that I guess.
Vinland Saga: So Thorfinn fights Thorkell in earnest and I think they just straight-up reuse some of the stuff from the opening but it’s pretty cool so it’s okay. Thorkell’s armored and huge so even though Thorfinn can dance around him all day he can’t really do more than give him papercuts. Thorkell makes fun of Thorfinn’s skill with a blade since he’s fast and strong but he basically just punches shit with daggers in his hands and Thorfinn calls him out on lecturing someone that’s fighting evenly with him and Thorkell tells him he wants to find his missing link too and hopes to find it through battle so he asks Thorfinn what it means to be a True Warrior which reminds Thorfinn of his dad’s death and how he’s currently in the process of fucking up his dad’s dying wish royally so he gets pissed but manages to not throw the whole fight like when Askeladd did it but still gets launched through the fucking air by one of Thorkell’s foot. Now as cool as all that shit is, it’s a lot to say that the most interesting stuff in this episode happens with Canute. Canute has a death dream about Ragnar and they get to say their goodbyes despite Ragnar saying ‘this is in your head bro but go ahead and let it out’. He wakes up and Bjorn is still fighting like ten dudes while hopped up on mushrooms so Canute and the Priest have a little chat while they wait for that to play out. He tells the Priest about his cool Ragnar dream and the Priest is like ‘that’s cool bro but that’s not real love’ and they have a big long speech about how loving a specific person precludes compassion for all people like how Ragnar would let people die to protect Canute and that the only things truly capable of love are those that can’t hurt anyone, ie nobody who’s alive, that’s probably a little bit of a minimalization nitpick to narrow down all compassion as simply favoring one person or group of people over others but I get what they’re going for. So the fact that Canute comes to the realization that people are incapable of loving each other unconditionally and universally yet it’s clearly the meaning of life to try fucking awakens his Conqueror’s Haki and he’s able to stop Berserker Bjorn with a hug and it may be the coolest damn thing in this series thus far. Bjorn gets stabbed by the other brother dude but Canute tells them to heal up because they’re going back to Thorkell so he can stop all this fighting and that he’s going to fucking start doing King shit and put an end to the pointless wars, so that’s pretty dope.

; Cicadas and Strawberries | chapter 2
During her ninth summer, Erza met this strange-looking boy with a marked face. A new kid who would start to go to school with her, Simon, and the others in September. He was the farmer’s great-nephew who came from Minstrel. Oh well! He might look a little different; Erza liked his smile and knew they could be friends.
AU where no kids got abducted, and Erza and Jellal meet in normal circumstances. [Chapter 1] [Chapter 2] [Chapter 3]
You can also read it on AO3 | Words: 3,064

As she guessed, Simon and Kagura said yes and Catherine agreed, only if Tomás paid the girl – which he promised to. Erza was delighted by her new mission; it wasn’t that she didn’t like her life at the orphanage, but she enjoyed little changes of the kind. Tomás had prepared them the two rooms to sleep in and enough food for two weeks – not knowing how long he’d be away. And thankfully, the mailman promised him to come and see the kids once a day, even if the villagers weren’t coming to help with the field.
That’s how two nine-year-olds and a six-year-old ended up in charge of the farm. Young but determined, the three children started to work the moment Tomás. That wasn’t so different from their everyday life, to be fair. The Mikazuchi lived on their own, and Erza was known for overdoing herself in the orphanage.
Kagura watched the two goats in their pen with a little smile while her brother and friend were cleaning their barn. They had spent the morning doing chores and weren’t going to stop. The animals were calmly eating and she couldn’t help but wonder if the grass was tasting good. Not that she wanted to try, though.
“I can’t believe they poop so much! My God!” she heard Simon lament as the two kids left the barn. “It took us what? An hour to clean all that mess?”
Erza couldn’t hold her laughter. “We’ll do it again tomorrow, you know? And the day after tomorrow and—”
“Agh, stop! I don’t want to think about it!”
Kagura watched them with an amused smile. Her brother went on, “You’re lucky, Kagura.”
“You’re the one who said I was too young to help,” she giggled.
“Oh well, you’ll do it tomorrow if you’re so interested.”
“No thanks!”
The kids laughed a little before racing to Tomás’ home – their favorite way to move as no one was there to tell them not to. Erza and Simon prepared lunch after washing their hands while Kagura set the table. Simon already enjoyed their time together, it felt domestic, like a little family… He could already imagine a perfect life like this… later when they’d be older. Erza and him, married with kids and Kagura coming from time to time… He smiled blissfully at the idea.
Erza looked at him, amused. “Simon, you’re cutting air.”
“Uh?” He blinked and looked at what he was doing. Yes, he was cutting nothing at all. “Ahah, sorry…” He blushed in embarrassment as he concentrated.
Kagura, having finished, watched her brother with a sly smile. “Simon is in love!” she sang as the boy turned completely red, shushing her. Simon’s feelings for his friend were obvious yet Erza seemed to be oblivious of them. And if Kagura could change that, she would!
“Anyway—Lunch’s read,” he stuttered. They ate while chatting and the digestion didn’t even tame their motivation.
Their first day wasn’t so troublesome, Erza thought, almost perfect. After picking a good number of strawberries, they rested under a tree, watching the clouds. Just like last time, she tried to guess their forms. This time, she wasn’t alone, and rather quickly, the three children ended up debating over one cloud’s form. Was it a cat or fish, they would never get the answer – as the wind made it ephemeral.
But this perfection met a stop when it was time to take the goats back to their barn in the evening. Tomás gave them instructions, about the two animals’ names and how to make them come back. Yet after trying his method for the fourth time, the kids understood that it wouldn’t work.
“Pst, pst, pst… Millie, Leite, come here!”
“They’re goats, not cats, Kagura.”
“Try to take them back then!”
“Shh, remember what Tomás said, don’t scare them off,” said Erza watching the two animals.
The three kids were behind the pen’s fence. They had opened the entrance but the goats kept eating grass. They had called the goats but it hadn’t worked. And to be fair, none of them were too sure about approaching them; after all, they had horns…
“Simon, go in and push them out of the pen!” whispered Kagura.
“No way, I’ll lose an eye—”
“Aren’t you a man?”
“Shh, I said,” repeated Erza. With a sigh, she entered the goats’ territory. Kagura gasped and Simon remained quiet, already ashamed of his cowardice. She walked slowly to the first animal, Leite, the youngest of the two. “Leite, I’m Erza, remember? I cleaned your home this morning…”
Erza was close to it now, the animal was reachable, to say the least. It continued to eat and the girl understood that she wasn’t bothering it. “Is that good?” she asked. After a minute, Erza approached her hand timidly, petting the animal. She smiled as the goat kept unmoving. “Leite, you have to go back home, now. So… May I…” She reached for its horn but this time, Leite moved its head.
“Careful!” she heard Kagura say.
Finally, Simon joined her after watching her struggle for maybe five minutes. He came to her side and thought. “We should push her, no?”
“Poor Leite…”
“She’s not moving, so…”
But right when the boy was about to touch the goat, its sister arrived and licked his hand. He yelped with a jolt. He turned to Mille, quite surprised. Leite finally moved to… imitate the other. Now he had the two animals trying to lick his hands. “Stop—” he said as he fell to the ground.
“No, leave him alone, you two!”
Erza tried to put herself between them but they forced their way to her friend. Simon closed his eyes tightly, putting his arms up to protect his face. But all the animals did was lick his fingers. He tried not to but couldn’t help to giggle – that was ticklish.
“Why are they…” Erza started before Kagura gasped and screamed. She glanced at the girl, seeing her looking outraged.
“That’s because you didn’t wash your hands, you big piggy! They like strawberries!”
Erza blinked and chuckled, “Then, we have our solution!” She ran out of the pen straight to the field. She quickly picked some fruits, the bests she could, before returning to her friends. Kagura was shaking her head, looking at her brother with disgust while the boy was still trying to escape the goats. Erza approached them with the strawberries and the animals turned to her quickly.
Now was her chance.
She stepped back, keeping an eye on the two animals and leaving the pen slowly as the goats followed her. Her plan was working and so she smiled. Erza finally gave them the fruits once they arrived in the barn, and it sure was ticklish. She giggled while Leite bleated her contentment.
The barn finally locked, the three kids sighed, tired. Behind them, a wonderful show painted the sky. From here, the sunset was incredibly beautiful. The sun was disappearing behind the distant mountains as the light shone all over the field. Erza wondered if Tomás was still in Fiore or already on a boat… She didn’t know much about her country, but Rosemary wasn’t so far away from the sea, that was for sure.
They prepared dinner together and ate in the dining room. Erza didn’t know she’d be so tired just after the first day.
Kagura looked at her plate, poking her food with her fork. For some reason, her mood fell once they had gotten home. “Is something wrong?” asked her brother.
“I’m just hoping Tomás is okay right now…”
“Of course, why wouldn’t he be?”
“I wouldn’t if you died…”
Simon frowned sadly, understanding his sister’s worry. Kagura was young but clever, that was for sure. Erza smiled sadly at the little girl, trying to reassure her. “It’s sad, of course, but look… He’s going to meet his brother’s grandson, isn’t it a little exciting?...”
She shook her head, keeping her moue. “When grandpa died, Dad didn’t send us away… Why would they do that to him?”
With a shaky sigh, Simon tried to answer, “Maybe they don’t have the choice?”
His sister didn’t like his answer but shrugged, eating. Erza and Simon shared a glance but said nothing. Kagura had a point, though; the whole situation was probably sadder than she thought. All she could wish for was for Tomás to be okay, along with the boy.

It was after three days that Tomás reached his destination. Minstrel was easy to reach, but the same couldn't be said about Sma Mildea. It wasn’t the simplest to find; when João used to say ‘closed community’ he was more than right. The night before, he slept in the town from where the letter was sent. No one was able to give him directions and Sma Mildea wasn’t on any map either.
Rumors were what led him to the place. ‘Where the sea and mountains meet resides those surviving demons, no one can approach them; some even died trying’ was what he heard in a bar. And the sad part was how real it felt because when he reached the beach and walked until its connection to the known Mount Azair, he saw what seemed to be ruins, a little higher on the hill.
The weather was horrible, it was too hot and unbreathable. The sun burned so much that most of the plants surrounding the area were dead. How could João have chosen to stay here? The weather was already more than hot in Bosco.
As Tomás walked, he felt more and more uncomfortable at the idea of his brother living here at some point. This place was nothing like a town. Only remains of what seemed to be a great city. At some point, he saw a child with two buckets in hand approaching him. The boy had brown hair and a strange mark on the right side of his face. When their gaze met, terror took him as he dropped the pails. He gasped, turned, and ran screaming ‘intruder!’
Now it was Tomás’ turn to be scared. If the rumors were completely true, he would likely die. But he wrote to Neyla, stated his arrival, so it wasn’t like he was in the wrong. He continued to walk, tensed but determined. And after a short while, a woman arrived with the boy from earlier.
“Thank you, Hassan, but this man is no threat,” she announced. She softly smiled at the boy then looked at Tomás. “Sir Fernandes, I presume. You came before receiving any agreeing word from us, it is rather impolite. How come?”
“You must be Neyla, the person who wrote to me?”
She frowned. “No man should ignore a woman’s question.”
“I came as soon as I could, for the boy. I thought my arrival wouldn’t bother.”
“Yet it does. It wouldn’t be the first time a Fernandes disappoint, though.”
Taken aback, Tomás clenched his fists, “And what is that supposed to mean?”
“Whatever you make out of it.” She smiled innocently and turned to the boy, “Hassan, go and find Jellal. He has someone to meet.”
“But I have water duty…”
“My order comes above Salim’s.”
The child – or young teen, as he was probably around 11 – nodded. Tomás glared at the woman, unable to forget her comment. She was thin and wore garments similar to the council’s; the few wrinkles told him she wasn’t so young either – not that he was one to speak. Again, she bared the same mark as Hassan on the right side of her face. With a simple gesture, she invited him to follow her.
“My name is Asmae,” she explained. So she wasn’t Neyla. “I am the leading figure of Mildea.”
On their way, they passed by men and boys seemingly working on rebuilding the town. Tomás couldn’t think about working in this heat nor letting such young children wield tools as large as their bodies. The little kids stopped to watch him. They stared at him, some looking confused, some others curious – most ended up smiling. But the detail that kept itching him was their face. No matter how young they looked… marked, all of them. They also looked too thin, almost malnourished.
“Forgive their curiousness. It has been a while since we’ve had an unmarked here.”
Tomás nodded silently, frowning a little more. “Was João marked?”
“He should have been but never was. He was lucky to marry a Protector, otherwise, he wouldn’t have been able to stay here.”
“Why?”
She watched him, annoyed, and ignored him. “Are you leaving with Jellal today?”
He inhaled, trying to stay calm. “I would like to see João’s grave before, but yes, if needed.”
“He doesn’t have one.”
Tomás stopped his track, staring at her. Shocked but mostly angry, he clenched his teeth. “What?”
“It is not about him, João died years ago during an attack; he wasn’t the only causality. None of them have a grave right now, as you can see, we’re still under construction. We do have their ashes, but that’s it.”
“How do you grieve without a place? How can you respect the dead without—”
She pointed at him; her eyes dark. “You’re none to talk about respect, Sir Fernandes. We have traditions and high needs. If you think we thrive in this situation, then you’re awfully wrong.”
They stared in silence until they heard someone clear their throat. A young woman it was. She seemed embarrassed by the situation. Asmae relaxed, finding back her composure. “Neyla,” she started, “How delightful to see you. I suppose you and the girls have finished praying.”
The woman nodded, holding her left hand in a red-stained tissue. “We did,” she bit her lip, looking at the man, “Tomás Fernandes?”
Before Tomás could confirm anything, Asmae talked. “Yes, it is him. May you take care of him until Hassan comes with Jellal. I will go supervise the girls.”
“Ah—Yes, of course.” She bowed and watched her go to the temple. The place finally looked like a city. With the temple at the center, the surrounding buildings were seemingly new and well-maintained.
“Sir…?”
He turned to the petite woman. She wore a sad look, her eyes filled with compassion.
“First of all, please accept my condolences. Sir Fernandes was a kind man and I was deeply affected by his departure.”
He closed his eyes, thinking about him; remembering how small he used to be and how tall he ended up being. Taller than him even. A big brother, unable to protect his younger sibling. A shame. “Asmae mentioned an attack?”
“A dark guild attacked us six years ago…” Her eyes watered up. “Many died… Almost everyone… My family had the same fate as yours…”
“I’m sincerely sorry you had to go through that… It must have been atrocious to live…”
She shook her head, smiling as she could. “I am the one being sorry for taking so long to find you… At least, now Jellal has someone.”
“How is he, by the way?”
“Oh, Jellal is adorable, you’ll see. He’s a very good kid.”
“I’m not doubting that. But after everything…”
“That’s exactly why I desperately tried to find you. I was sure Sir Fernandes had family, and right now all he needs is to leave this place. It brings back bad memories, for sure…”
“Who took care of him during those years?”
“I did. I took care of all the Protectors’ children. I feel like abandoning him, Sir, but that’s for the best; I truly believe so.”
“What do mean by ‘Protectors’, Asmae said João’s wife was one…”
“Yes, it is true. Along with their daughter. They were both mages, unlike himself and his son. A Protector is a very respected role in the mildean culture. The Protectors of Time are serving the Gods, keeping the world safe as ordered…” She squeezed her left hand, frowning, “They must be furious – the Gods I mean. For the Protectors to die, we are leaving Time unsupervised. Anything could happen. We are failing our duty.”
“It seems a little… unbelievable for me; you see, I’m an atheist.”
“So was Sir Fernandes. More than being mixed, his children were raised by a non-believer. It isn’t seen with a nice eye. That was Laetizia’s reason to become a Protector. She restored the family’s image. Her mother’s more precisely…”
“I still don’t understand why he stayed here until the end…” Tomás sighed, his brother was probably resented by the vast majority of the community after all. And to learn that his daughter had to work to restore their image made him sick.
“He was in love. And you know, it wasn’t all bad. I truly appreciated him and I wasn’t the only one. It’s the Olders that try to keep the traditions. For me and for many, Sir Fernandes never was a bother.”
The man nodded, still unsure. It’s at this moment that the kid from earlier called Neyla. Behind him was a little boy; Jellal, he knew. Even though, the child seemed shyer than he imagined. They both approached them quickly, Hassan putting his hand on Jellal’s shoulder.
“There he is,” he announced.
The boy had his grandfather’s blue hair, also Tomás’ in a way. But he wasn’t as matte as the two Fernandes brothers were. Which was ironic, when he saw the climate here. Nonetheless, he could see his brother in this child, somehow; even if knew some other traits came from João’s wife’s side. The mark was one of them. And like the children from earlier, he looked too thin for his age.
“Jellal, this is Tomás Fernandes,” introduced Neyla.
Tomás smiled softly at the boy, “Your great-uncle. João’s brother. I’m glad to meet you.” He extended his hand for the boy to take, which he did.
“Jellal Fernandes, glad to meet you too,” he mumbled.
A wave of affection reached him. The boy was using their name, even here in this kind of close-minded place. Tomás was happy to know some other children: even a sea away from his home, the boy wasn’t going to be alone. The man was more than impatient to bring him home, to escape this heat and to feed him; but more importantly, to get to know the kid he should have met the moment he was birthed.

AN:  So did I elaborate my hcs on Jellal's life before the tower here? Yes. Is it darker than intended? Yes. But! That's just the beginning, I guess; I truly want to write the kids as kids and just being able to be happy

Do you actually think kagura's slapstick is the same as akito trying to lock kyo in an isolation room after he graduates? Or telling him his father was right about him?
This is very weird thing to ask cause abuse is still abuse and i know that you are being sarsactic by writing this, instead of actually asking, i will still explain what i thought about it anyway, anon/@stluciasstudentjail / @bakugou-sucks who seems to dislike Tohru being friends with Akito (edit; and used my comment and this post to make fun of it/for harrassment, i did edit again cause of harrassments, I didnt write this analysis for you, its for me and for people who think.)
Tumblr media
Slapstick is a style of humor involving exaggerated physical activity that exceeds the boundaries of normal physical comedy.[1][2] Slapstick may involve both intentional violence and violence by mishap, often resulting from inept use of props such as saws and ladders. (Source)
First of all, i am very well aware of what slapstick is. Its kind of violence you are meant to laugh and ignore. Which is what we are supposed to do with Kagura beating Kyo scenes.
And this is my personal opinion but i think 'slapstick is stupid' and doesnt work well, especially in a stories about abuse. Because there is no such a thing that violence you are meant to laugh in real life. Toxic actions are toxic actions, violence is violence. You cant just put one as good and other as bad.
Especially the way Kagura beats Kyo was so extreme and unnecessary, every time i saw, i felt realy uncomfortable with it. Not because its abuse but because its supposed to be funny. Kagura is supposed to be one of the 'good guys' and 'close' to Kyo but here we go. They were childhood friends and Kagura loves/cares for Kyo but just because you care someone doesnt mean you can treat them this way.
Tumblr media
I hate it because i know that when violence are meant to be funny, most of the time, stories doesnt adress it. I love making analyze and i hate ignoring things. I want wrong things to be adressed. I knew that Kagura will get away with this. Kyo never mad at her, she never really feel bad about it.
But yknow what? In real life, pyhsically beaten by someone is not funny and it traumatize you which doesnt happen with Kyo and kagura for some reason, lol. I will never understand how people find watching someone beating another is funny.
Tumblr media
If Kagura was boy and Kyo was girl, this relationship would get more dislike from people but i believe in gender equality and just because she is girl, it doesnt make it okay. The fact that he didnt react back only because she is girl...its not okay. He said he doesnt want it but she was forcing herself onto him cause she doesnt respect his thoughts that much. (This is why Kyo fell into Tohru cause she was the first person who actually respect him as invidual.)
Apperantly, in 90s, girl beating their boyfriend trope was popular, thats probably why Kagura beating Kyo thing happens. But most of the time, it was too extreme and too unnecessary, of course i woud feel uncomfortable about it because Kyo didnt deserve that. If you guys wanna be ignorant, okay but that doesnt mean i have to be too.
But then lets look at the case with Akito.
Tumblr media
The words Akito said to Kyo is awfull and she intentionally trying to trigger his trauma but yknow what is the weird thing is?
Why would Kyo care what Akito said? Who the hell Sohma Akito is? Because Akito is not their parents, she isnt always with them, she just sometimes meets with them, talks and they leave. Especially Kyo, compared to zodiac members, he hardly ever interact with Akito.
So basically Akito is almost equal to a stranger in Sohma Kyo's life. And there is literally no reason to Kyo to care for what Akito said. Basically if it was real life, Akito's words wouldnt affect Kyo at all because Akito is no different than middle school bullies. She is just so childish and obvious that its hard to take it seriously. She is also not pyhsically or mentally strong either, Kyo is stronger than her.
Tumblr media
But then story gives a 'logical reason' why Akito can affect zodiac, why Akito's words are so important for them. Kazuma explains that its related to god-zodiac bond, basically some kind of supernatural power. (Except Kana loosing her mind case and that doesnt make sense at all cause of many reasons.)
This is why Akito's word 'i dont need you' traumatized Rin more than her parents did. This is why Yuki was traumatized deeply. Its some kind of supernatural thing, not the power of Akito's manipulation or whatever, its just supernatural power. This is why little thing Akito will say suddenly traumatize zodiac members and they hate it and wanna escape from it.
Tumblr media
And Akito's locking Kyo up again has nothing to do with Akito either. It was tradition before even Akito was born. As family head, she just continue with the same rules. Even if it wasnt Akito, Kyo would still be locked up.
Why Akito do this? We know the reason. She doesnt want zodiac to abandon her nad she thinks this is the only way that she has to force them stay and locking Kyo up was part of it.
And remember since Akito's actions were portrayed as bad by narrative, she later face consequences of her actions, she face it and punished for it. She doesnt get away unlike Kagura or many other characters. I am sick of people's obsessing with Akito even though she is the only character who gets punished for her wrong actions, story's adressing her wrong actions doesnt make her worse, that makes her better.
And saying "Kagura is acting like this cause she is boar, it doesnt count", then with same logic, the only reason Akito's abuse is effective is cause of Supernatural power, then what she did doesnt count either because that weird power is the only reason that turned Akito's words to "abuse". We are saying its abuse cause even they didnt mean it or its not their fault that they born with this power, it still effected someone else's life. Also that doesnt change the fact that Kagura still forced herself onto Kyo and that made Kyo really uncomfortable which has nothing to do with being boar.
Basically your answer;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Note; This is unrelevant but when Kyo and Yuki said they prefer Tohru over Akito and Kagura, i felt bad for Akito and Kagura, even though we cant really blame Kyo and Yuki for it.)
What Akito did to Kyo is not same as what Kagura did to Kyo. Kagura cared about Kyo and she didnt actually mean to hurt him but Kagura's abuse on Kyo was worse than Akito's abuse on Kyo. Kyo was clearly more uncomfortable about Kagura’s existence than Akito and he had many problems outside of again Akito. The only reason Akito's abuse on Kyo was more effective is not because of power of manipulation or whatever, its because of some weird supernatural power. Otherwise, this doesnt make sense at all.
(Actually, i wasnt going to answer cause the way you asked this question is rude, people who geniuely ask deserves an answer, not rude ones but i explained this because i wanted to talk about this.)

okay so i am obviously intrigued by all of the gintama one but..........say more about the shiroyasha assassination arc pleeeeeease <3
OK PLEASE BUCKLE UP I HAVE A WHOLE-ASS OUTLINE THAT'S BEEN SITTING AROUND FOR OVER A YEAR AND IT'S SOMEHOW BOTH THE MOST AND LEAST COHERENT THING I'VE EVER STARTED TO WRITE
It's post-canon GinHiji glorified kidfic mashing aspects of Be Forever Yorozuya with loose ends from the main story. Basically it's a romcom about a single dad falling in love with his kid's teacher who's also a single dad. While an assassin cult tries to kill the teacher.
Two years after the finale, Gintoki, Zura, and Otae get obsessed with a cartoon that's totally not My Little Pony (Our Large Horse) and open an alternative school to get access to an exclusive edutainment game. Meanwhile, the Shinsengumi entertain Akari, a Weird Little Girl™ who's related to Sougo. Sougo forces Hijikata to babysit her at an OLH convention and they get along surprisingly well. Then Sougo reveals she's Mitsuba's secret illegitimate daughter and it completely destroys Hijikata's brain etc etc etc.
Akari joins Gintoki's school. Other students include Kanshichirou, Tamako, and Magic Grow Capsule Takasugi Clone. Hijikata hires Kagura and Shinpachi to investigate Akari's parentage??? I think?? Fun fact, I picked the name 'Akari' because right after the letter exchange at the end of Baragaki Arc, Ginpachi-sensei reads a letter from 'Akari', asking why Hijikata still smokes. This got hitched to my concurrent realization that Gintoki would be a good -- okay, maybe not good, but fitting teacher, and so would Zura, and the Shimuras have their dojo thing. So obviously an interdimensional space-time rift happened there. And does happen.
Gintoki runs his school. Akari's guardianship gradually shifts to Hijikata, because Tae has threatened to kick Sougo's ass if he tries to raise a child by himself. So Gintoki and Hijikata end up spending even more time together.
Then a white-haired child pops up, wearing Naraku clothing. He calls himself 'One'. He tries to assassinate Gintoki. It keeps happening. Assassins start targeting Shinpachi and Kagura, too. A badass/dumbass woman from the future arrives to protect the Yorozuya. She calls herself 'Ibara' but she's clearly an adult Akari. Everyone tries not to think about this. She also keeps slipping and calling both Gintoki and Hijikata variations of 'dad'. They also try not to think about this.
The midpoint??? curveball is that Itou Kamotarou was Akari's father. What the fuck. Well, I read a fic where he and Mitsuba became friends in the afterlife because he reminds her of Hijikata and I thought "yeah that tracks". then i saw the Gintama Festival 2016 art where they sit together sharing hot sauce dango (??) and I went "HAHAHA! WHAT IF I MADE THIS A PROBLEM FOR HIJIKATA?"
Anyway, it turns out Mitsuba and Itou met while Itou was investigating?? the Enmi? after being tipped off by the Kiheitai?? Now remnants of the Naraku are trying to unleash the White Plague??? somehow? But the White Plague nanomachines have a related good counterpart. The good nanomachines need a human incubator; Mitsuba volunteered, but it failed and she got sick.
Gintoki is the perfect candidate because his bloodstream has a high concentration of sugar and alcohol. So in a throwback to the Shogun Assassination Arc, the giant main cast has to protect Gintoki on the way to the Terminal to Do Something, I Guess. Hijikata is the one who plans the whole thing, because Kondou believes he won't make the same mistake twice, and also I want him to suffer.
From here I have no goddamn idea what happens besides how a lot of the dramatic tension arises from how 'One' is a child, so nobody is willing to kill or seriously hurt him. At the climax, 'One' nearly kills Gintoki. Gintoki could gain the upper hand, but he recognizes himself in 'One', so he does self-sacrifice bullshit, Hijikata Big Sad...I think he gives Gintoki mouth-to-mouth? *double-checks notes* Woah, really?
Of course Gintoki recovers after having a coma dream where he and Takasugi annoy each other. Gintoki and Hijikata get together. Ibara returns to the future, but first, she reveals 'One' was engineered using a combination of Gintoki and Hijikata's DNA...because they won the last four popularity polls. So he's technically her brother. Roll credits!

Edit: Guess I’ll put this in here since everyone is just glossing it over to look for the negative parts. I never said you couldn’t ship SessRin. I never said I was anti-SessRin. I know I tagged it as such, but it isn’t because of my opinion. I have friends who ship SessRin. I love those friends. What I mean by these statements is that the community in general is toxic because of the people in it who have caused problems for others. Like, for example, the person who felt the need to jump me about my personal ship because it wasn’t with Rin when I wasn’t even talking about a ship. Or the people who harassed the English voice cast to the point that even they were calling the SessRin community toxic. Or the people who are fighting to have any Sesshoumaru shipping blog deleted if Rin isn’t involved. I am capable of peacefully sharing Sesshoumaru with other shippers if they could be civilized. But since they aren’t, then I feel like I have the right to speak my mind. And those of you who feel the need to fight me about it are just proving my point because you’re so worked up that anyone could have a different opinion that you absolutely have to argue. That being said, I also stated that I would never have said a word about this if it weren’t for the fact that Rin is underage in Yashahime. Sunrise is trying to lie about how much time passed. They clearly didn’t do their own math. And while I’m fine with SessRin shippers who ship her as an adult, I will not tolerate the people who justify her being underage in Yashahime. Also to those trying to argue about Yashahime being canon, I would love to provide the evidence to the statement I saw, but it’s gotten lost in the sea of people arguing about the show being canon. It was something along the lines of her saying the story wasn’t canon or wasn’t hers but the three girls were and that she was washing her hands of InuYasha and other’s could do what they wanted with it. Which kind of implies it’s not canon but she doesn’t care. If I find it again I will definitely share it. But if Rumiko steps up and actually says the show is canon, then I’ll accept it as canon. But that doesn’t mean I’m okay with Rin being underage. But go ahead and continue to comment with your ridiculous arguments. New edit: @tiny-foots It’s not what I saw but I was provided this where Rumiko stated InuYasha was complete within herself meaning the story was done. She left it up to Mr. Sumisawa to write. Take it as you will, but I see that as her giving the okay for a fanfic to be officiated. But I don’t see it as canon. I suppose that can be left up to interpretation. But my personal belief is that it’s not canon. Even before all this I never even saw the original anime as canon.
Tumblr media
I am going to start off by saying that I always said I would never be anti-ship. But if this is what it's come to then I am completely against what is happening right now.
Let's just pretend my OTP isn't actually my OTP right now. What I ship has nothing to do with this. In fact I am a multi-shipper, so don't even think about that. This is beyond more than my personal shipping opinions. InuYasha was my comfort series during a very rough time and Sesshoumaru is my favorite character because of his massive character development and redemption arc. He is an astounding character.
The fact that Sunrise has "officially" (I refuse to say canon because it's not canon. Rumiko said so. Fight me!) paired him with Rin is the most disturbing and disgusting thing they could have possibly done. Again, I am not against people who do ship them. If that's what they enjoy then that's fine.
HOWEVER!
The SessRin community is toxic AF! They have been for a long time and now they've been given a reason to really be horrible people. And that's only one reason why I'm disgusted by this entire thing. And mind you, since Yashahime isn't canon anyway, I wouldn't have cared as much if they hadn't done it the way they had. Let me break this down for you. I'm going to list why SessRin is unhealthy, toxic, and morally wrong and I'll even list some of the justifying arguments shippers have tried to use to support it and explain why they're wrong too.
Pairing Sesshoumaru with Rin destroyed his character development and redemption.
Sesshoumaru's father had a strong desire to see his son learn compassion. Toward everyone! Humans and youkai alike. He learned that lesson through both a human and a youkai. Rin and Kagura. These were the characters who were meant to teach him to be compassionate toward others. By pairing him with Rin you have taken away that compassion that he learned. It's like sticking a giant middle finger up to all the humans he was supposed to learn to respect and say he only tolerates Rin and no one else. There goes his redemption! Way to go, Sunrise!
SessRin was never meant to become a thing.
Rumiko went out of her way to create a bond between Kagura and Sesshoumaru as well as Kohaku and Rin. It's clear who we were meant to ship them with. These characters were placed as a barrier between Rin and Sesshoumaru to avoid an improper ship. SessKagu is the ONLY canon Sesshoumaru ship.
No child in their right mind grows up to fall in love with the man who raised them from childhood.
And if they do then they need to seek counseling because that's not healthy. A normal child would grow up to view that man as her father.
And how about these lame and unjustifiable arguments that SessRinners are throwing out.
"He waited until she was an adult! She's 18!"
Do some research. She is not 18! Look at the the facts that have been compiled. She is 15 MAX. She's underage!
"This was normal back then!"
No it was not! Again, do your research! Nobility groomed children to be wives, yes, but it wasn't normal. Even then the girl wasn't bedded until she was an adult. Also, would you portray a black person, in media, as an abused slave in 1800s America by your story's "good guy" and say it's okay because it was normal back then?  I don't think so!
"They were meant to be together! It was a given! It was clear!"
Again, no it wasn't! Kagura was placed in the story for this purpose! She was in love with Sesshoumaru and he was falling in love with her. They are the ONLY canon Sess ship!
"Well, you're forgetting about the original series being about a 15-year-old girl getting with a 50+ year old man!"
There are so many reasons why this is an illogical statement. - InuYasha and Kagome met when they were mentally the same age. Sess and Rin met with he was mentally a young adult and she was EIGHT! - Kagome and InuYasha didn't have an official relationship until she returned from her time after three years... WHEN SHE WAS 18! - Every moment in the original story where Kagome was in an inappropriate situation she got mad and did something about it! She didn't just giggle and let the men around her ogle or touch her! - And my personal opinion, I also believe InuYasha and Kagome’s relationship was toxic anyway, so don’t try to hold that one over me. There’s a reason I’m a multi-shipper.
And one of my favorites, even from pre-Yashahime
"NO ONE is shipping child Rin with Sesshoumaru!"
Yeah? Go do a Google image search, you sickos. Edited to include this little treasure in the comments:
Tumblr media
Who’s putting words in her mouth? She stated, in an interview plain as day, that Yashahime was not canon! She didn’t write it. An official publication does not canon make! Not to mention “the woman who changed him” is such an incredibly vague statement. If it was meant to be Rin, she’d have just said Rin. As mentioned before, she was very adamant about pushing the Kagura x Sesshoumaru ship. And Kagura definitely changed him. Was it not his compassion toward her specifically that regained his arm and gave him a sword? I’m pretty sure “the woman who changed him” was meant to be a vague statement because the canonical intention was just to leave it open to interpretation and is probably meant to be some random village woman who bonded with Sesshoumaru and ultimately completed his change.
And if, by chance, she did mean Rin, she didn’t say it was canon. Just that she was his wife meaning that is who Sunrise set as his wife in the show. Think about it? She was answering the question of “who had his children in Yashahime.” If she meant Rin, she was avoiding spoilers and giving a hint to who Sunrise chose as his wife. That’s not saying she would have picked Rin, herself. She didn’t write it. So it seems to me that you are the one putting words in her mouth.
Now tell me, if your best friend from grade school who was adopted told you when she was a teen or even an adult, "My dad's hot. We decided to sleep together." would you not find that disturbing? That's SessRin right now.
Also:
HANYOU NO YASHAHIME IS NOT CANON! THIS IS PER RUMIKO TAKAHASHI HERSELF! DO NOT TRY TO JUSTIFY THAT SESSRIN IS CANON NOW BECAUSE IT ISN'T! IT'S JUST AN OVERGLORIFIED AND POORLY WRITTEN FANFICTION!
ONLY THE MANGA IS CANON! OG SESSHOUMARU IS THE ONLY SESSHOUMARU!! That being said, I still say if you do happen to be a SessRin shipper, then you do you. Enjoy what you want. But what is happening right now does not give you a right to justify any toxic behavior that your community is expressing. Again, I wouldn’t even be mad if Sunrise hadn’t portrayed Rin as still being underage. I won’t stand to see people justify this!

Minific Idea: The ToQgers playing under the rain (It could be of Akira's making or not)
Whenever I think about playing in the rain I now think of this... Thanks a lot Tom Holland XD
Anyways
"I don't know about this you guys... We could get really sick, then we have to miss school and have make up classes and that would be a real pain-"
"Aw, Tokacchi, it's only this once!" Kagura pleaded, pouting at her friend. "It's been so long since we played in the rain together! It will be fun!"
"Don't be such a wet blanket, Tokacchi!" Right chided, tugging on his worried friend's hands. "Besides, we can always warm up with hot cocoa later!"
"But-"
"It won't hurt to have some fun once in a while," Mio said, nudging Tokacchi lightly. "Besides, we have the week off, if we get sick we won't miss much."
"Well, if you don't want to, we won't force you. You can just stay here, by yourself," Hikari pointed out. He held out the umbrella he was using to him.
Tokacchi frowned, torn for a moment, before he sighed and caved. "You guys really know how to play me like a fiddle, don't you?" he asked, half-heartedly trying to look grumpy about it.
Right grinned at him. "Of course we do, we're your best friends! Now come on, let's have some fun!" he said, dragging Tokacchi out from the shed he was sheltering under and into the rain.

Would love to hear your thoughts on gintama the final, if you want to share!!
Fucked me up. Punched me in the face. Obliterated me.
CW GINTAMA SPOILERS
I spent my middle-high school years reading/watching gintama n its a huge influence on me—it probably has the most influence on me compared to other animanga tbh—storytelling and humor wise this series just engineered me lol. Its also the first fandom i was active in, this was literally a gintama blog to whoever remembered that era.
Tumblr media
When gin said this^ i was bout to cry fr -_- when i saw kagura looking all grown up in this movie i was like 🧍‍♂️so SHOCKED bc pretty sure i was kaguras age when i started gintama. so looking at adult her as an adult myself… insane meta moment. Like u know how uncle iroh is everyones uncle, gintoki u are my father
Anyway. takasugi
Tumblr media
Takasugi’s redemption arc is so fucking crazy. Idc how tropey everything is bc it was done so well. Maybe im biased but it doesnt matter. The storyboarding in the gintoki vs utsuro/takasugis fight was done SO WELL. !! The sound design also! They translated n elevated the scene insanely well from the manga. The interpersing flashbacks and mutliple callbacks with the present fight uogoggh. THE SILENT MOMENTS!!! the staff knew what they were doing. It was so devastating. The script is also very crazy like…. Everything they told each other at their last moments together…… I think it was done perfectly. It was a perfect, most miserable moment.
Tumblr media
His iconic catchphrase..
I actually did not think i would like takasugi this much (funny since i got my url from him lol) but like. I always thought takasugi n gin’s dynamic is rly good in a rly fucked up way but idk i was not obsessed w him the way im obsessed w the other characters. But now. Oh man. WHAT a character. Yeah its a cliche to die to get your character redeemed but goddamn he did it SO WELL. SO WELL! He didnt turn nice a la zuko or whatever, but the script rly allowed us to see the best of him despite everything he has done. Or in spite of it. Like his character rly, rly just shines through. I feel like the first time he showed up as a villain his motivation felt vague and chaotic—violence for violence’s sake—but now we know its nothing like that at all. Its vengeance, but it isnt vengeance for him, its vengeance for the three of them: gintoki, zura, n himself. When i realized his want to “destroy” isnt egocentric in the least… [shakes head] his character just changed completely to my eyes its sooo. CRAZY. WHAT a character.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
my fav character dynamic is enemies who know each other best. Obsessed with it truly. and also characters who try to kill each other (which is takasugi+gintoki in the past arcs of the series) out of love. Bc it is out of love! Out of guilt and pride and really love. The way that we thought takasugi’s pain centers fully around their teacher—and it turns out what tortures him the most is gintoki’s suffering all along?!?! WTF. And the way they mirror each other! Its fucking insane! Gin chose to sacrifice himself in the past to carry the burden at the beginning of it all VS the series ending with takasugi sacrificing himself bc he doesnt want gin to carry that burden anymore -> literal insanity. Yes character death is tedious but its the perfect conclusion to their conflict. Full fucking circle. Im frothing at the mouth thinking about it. Its such a tender end for the both of them it was beautiful and it hurt like shit.
If there is anything i have gripes about the movie is the lack of zura and sakamotos involvement at the core of their conflict—esp zura! Bc shoyou is his teacher too ): and also the poor character screentime distribution for the rest of the cast (it cant be helped on some level ig, gintama has a shitload of characters) though i appreciate that otae has a lot of scenes, good for her :)
But overall i loved it—very biasedly, but i really do. I mean it hurt but it hurt so good. Im happy that it ended that way. Bittersweet and hopeful and in good, good humor is the very essence of gintama and that was the ending that it got, so: perfect. And therefore i will think abt gintama fondly onwards as i always have

I saw a post this morning talking about a “Yashahime Is Over Party” tonight and I don’t normally jump on things like this and especially don’t share any of my own stuff but I thought this would be a good opportunity for some self healing after this whole fiasco. Also I think celebrating the end is a potentially really healthy thing for a lot of fans to move on from this disaster so I think this “party” idea is a really good one.
Spent basically the whole day just drawing and painting various Inuyasha things — some turned out better than others. I don’t really care how bad these turned out because for me it’s been a good chance to get the hurt this series has caused out of my system.
Tumblr media
That being said, if Yashahime was a person I would still spit on them.
(Descriptions of pictures below the cut— don’t feel obligated to look)
I feel like this diabolical show has been such a disservice to the characters, the story, and the fans. No matter what ship you support, I cannot fathom any actual fans being happy with this series. It is indisputably a blight against Inuyasha, and this shows persistent existence is an insult to this amazing story and characters.
I gave this show a whole season to show signs of improvement, and that is well beyond what people normally give to a new show. The only reason I kept checking in this long was out of loyalty to Inuyasha. But now that this season is over Yashahime is dead to me and I can finally put it to rest.
I gave this show a whole season to show signs of improvement, and that is well beyond what people normally give to a new show. The only reason I kept checking in this long was out of loyalty to Inuyasha. But now that this season is over Yashahime is dead to me and I can finally put it to rest.
Onto what the pics are (cos my artistic ability leaves much to be desired and I haven’t picked up a brush/pencil basically since high school— embarrassingly long time ago):
1. Started with InuKag cos how could I not. Unfortunately this was the first one I did and it didn’t turn out as good as I hoped.. plus I’m not used to watercolour at all sooo.. but it’s the thought that counts imo
2. I did The Best Boy Shippo next. I like to imagine he’s off training to be an amazing fox demon at the moment. Used an image from Google for reference for this but didn’t trace it. Turned out better than I expected especially after how disappointed I was with the outcome of InuKag lol
3. Third I tried I redeem myself with InuKag by drawing their baby Moroha. It started as a pic of Kagome with baby Moroha but that failed miserably twice so I started drawing Moroha (around 7 in my head) handing her Mama a bundle of flowers. Like to imagine she was out with her Papa and she grabbed these for her Mama and this was her coming home after a day with her dad. Inuyasha smiling behind her, and Kagome happily receiving the flowers. Also the flowers weren’t meant to cover her face originally but then I just went for it because I just suck at proportions lol
4. SessKagu is endgame to me for Inuyasha. They weren’t always because after Kagura died I made peace and just ended up picturing sesshomaru as single, but then Yashahime unwittingly opened up many possibilities for Kaguras return so now I headcanon that she came back not long after Kagome returned. This scene is Kagura after she’s back and she’s taking Rin for a joyride on her flying feather. Sesshomaru and Jaken (who accidentally came out looking like baby Yoda) watching on. In this Rin has her hair in a bun. I had a brainfart on that but now I’m rationalising it by saying Rin would be a pre-teen at this point and I dunno about y’all but when I was a preteen I experimented with different hairstyles, and I think it’s natural for a young girl to try out different styles and experiment and I thought it was a cute idea to imagine 🤷🏻‍♀️
5. I wanted to do a tribute to MirSan but didn’t turn out like I envisioned.. it’s supposed to be hisui trying to pick up hiraikotsu while he’s quite little and only managing to get it a few inches off the ground. I tried MirSan 😭
But anyway this is my contribution. I also have a little comic in mind that I’ve typed up the dialogue for but not sure if I’ll get around to doing it cos it was mostly just below the belt jabs to Sunrise and I’m not sure I want to keep fuelling this loathing I have for this trash anymore 🤗

Fruits Basket - Vol. 20
I want to try to break the book into three main chunks. The last time I did that, it was easier to write about. So uh, the first chunk has to do with Tohru and her feelings about Kyo, and Kagura's reaction, the second chunk is Akito and Ren's past being revealed (it's totally a mess but it's to be expected), and the third chunk is about things unraveling.
Tumblr media
Ok cool let's do it. (The picture was at the end of one of the chapters, I just liked it a lot idk) (also tumblr needs to increase the character limit for the alt text, it's only 200 characters, which goes by quick. twitter has like,, 420, which is more manageable)
Tohru came to Kazuma's house to visit Izusu, and Kagura came to confront Tohru about something. What possibly could it be (as if I didn't say so in the beginning)? Kagura was talking about it a bit with Kazuma, and he said he just hopes that Tohru's feelings don't come from a place of pity (which is a mild "oof" point for Kagura, because that's mostly why she loved Kyo), because Kyo has had to deal with people either flat out hating him, or being nice to him out of a sense of pity. Even Kazuma admitted (earlier in the series. I don't remember when but I remember reading it) that part of the reason he took in Kyo as a child was because he was making it up for how he treated his grandfather, the previous Cat. Over time, those feelings fell away, in favor of genuinely caring for Kyo's wellbeing, but Kazuma doesn't seem to be the one who would forget about stuff like that. (Also it turns out that the previous Cat's partner basically stayed with him out of a sense of pity, as well)
It turns out that Izusu and Tohru were talking about the same thing, and Tohru worried if her feelings for Kyo were selfish, because she wanted nothing to take Kyo away from her, not the curse, not the Sohma family, nothing. Kagura then bust into the room, smacked Tohru across the fucking room it seems, and said, "Then fucking tell him that!!" (direct quote, 100%) Izusu yelled at Kagura for hitting Tohru, asking what right she had for doing that, but given Kagura's nature, it doesn't seem completely out of nowhere. She just got pretty emotional in that moment.
For Tohru, it seemed to knock the right screw loose for her, and she thought back to when she was talking about her father to Kyo, and if he said really anything against what she was talking about, she apparently would've just zipped her lips and pretended she hadn't said anything, and moved on, but he didn't. Which is pretty nice of him to do, honestly. Anyway, when she came to again (because she got knocked out from Kagura's emotion-packed slap), Kyo was sitting there, because Kazuma had called him, ("Hey dude so there was a smackdown here and Tohru got knocked out lmao" is how I'm imagining the call. kjdhkfgjh can you imagine Kazuma saying "lmao" I can't) but Kyo didn't ask about the fight (which was a Wise Lesson from Shishou™), another nice thing for him to do, though in my opinion it would be a pretty easy thing to explain.
Ok, so now onto the second chunk, which kinda has some of the stuff in the third chunk later on but whatever. Story flow, it's pristine today.
It starts with some of the,, maids? or something that are in the Sohma house (they never get names so far as I can tell, and I don't really know what to call them, but at one point someone referred to one of them as a maid, I think? Idk.) talking about Ren, and wondering why Akito still let Ren wander around freely like she does. Another said that Akito can only do so much, because apparently there is a crowd of people in the house that are "Ren-followers", and if she had Ren be completely contained within an area, there's a chance that those followers might start some shit, which would be a headache to deal with. One of the maids said that Akito has been sick (or holed up in her room) for too long, and the rest of the Juunishi are doing nothing to help, which does not help with Ren, who spouts out stuff about how the Juunishi doesn't really care about Akito at all. The maids seem to have a particular thing against Ren, because they view her as an unsuitable woman who somehow managed to become partners with Akira, the previous God, I think, but also the father of Akito.
Speaking of Akito, she has a box. That same box that Ren tried to use Izusu to get back. Something about that box has to do with Akira, and it seems important to both Akito and Ren, though honestly at this point Akito is probably just holding onto it out of spite for Ren, I wouldn't be surprised (I, too, am a petty bitch. I understand the mindset). She asked Kureno if he has any idea what is in it, and when he says he doesn't, she simply says, "Father."
Now we jump over to Ren and Shigure, who are also talking about about that elusive box. Apparently Shigure was tasked to get the box, but obviously he didn't succeed. He said (thought? He didn't say it aloud, it was one of those thoughts thing--- anyway) that he didn't really care, he didn't even want to touch that box, much less even look at it, it was no loss to him. Out loud, he says that it would be inappropriate for him to hold it, and Ren agrees, saying that only she can have it, just like how only she could have Akira, when he was alive. Are you already sensing where this is heading? Well, I'll say it anyway.
Flash back to Kureno, he's thinking about Akira, from when he was younger and Akira was still alive. He remembers Akira as very beautiful, in a fleeting way. Akira was sickly, all the time, and sad. Everyone knew that he wouldn't live for very long. But since he was the head of the house, of the family, it was imperative that he find a partner and produce an heir. That person was Ren, who was one of his care-takers. The rest of the staff (or something??) didn't like that she was going to be with Akira, it seemed unsuitable, but she was the only candidate. She was the only person who recognized how lonely he was, is what Akira said as a defense when people objected. And so, they were married. The older members of the family despised it, the younger thought it was the beginning of a new change, a new era. Ren said (because this section is flipping between Kureno and Ren) that it was only them two (haha grammar): Akira and Ren, they were all who mattered. She was everything to Akira. So when she had Akito, well, that muddled things. Because now there was another person that Akira loved: his own fuckin child. That's right. Ren got jealous of her own child because Akira loved his very own daughter. That's,, that's something. Shortly after that, Ren decided that Akito would be raised as a boy. Or maybe it was while she was still pregnant. At any rate, she said it was because it would be unsuitable for the head of the family to be a woman, but we all know the real reason: it's so that Akira wouldn't be loving another girl, even though that other girl was his daughter. Jfc Ren is a handful. From Kureno's memory, it seems like even as a kid, Shigure recognized that.
Back to Shigure and Ren, Shigure says that he feels sorry for Ren, probably thanks to all that upset she has. She says the same, that the Juunishi have had to deal with the abuse that Akito has dealt to them simply because of that "bond", and that there's no way that anyone could honestly love Akito. Shigure also comments that sometimes he thinks that if Akito had been raised as a woman, she'd look exactly like Ren, which instantly pisses Ren off. She just starts screaming about "Who do you have to thank for Akito being born! I'm the reason that (insert angry comment about how she's the only reason why x happened)". I'm kinda glad she isn't in the series much, this is exhausting. I know she's in the book later, and maybe a bit more in the next few, but jeez. It's a lot.
Anyway, let's end the chapter with Momiji having his curse be broken. The end is near (for the Juunishi, not this post lmao).
The second that the curse breaks, Akito knows it (that's probably the bond. I doubt it's some kinda "we'll be friends forever uwu" kinda thing, it's just kinda an awareness of each other, or maybe just God's awareness of everyone) and races towards Momiji, begging him to not leave. Now that the curse is broken, Momiji is confused as to how those thoughts he had prior for Akito were even there, now that he sees Akito clinging onto him, whimpering and panicked. Momiji waves her away, saying that he'll keep it a secret, and that Akito should go rest, wasn't she feeling sick earlier?
We pan over to the school, where Haru is asking Yuki if he's noticed anything off about Momiji. Haru can't place it, but something seems off, maybe not. Kyo ends up running into Momiji walking down a hallway, and asks him about it (he overheard the others talking about it), and Momiji just out and says it: his curse broke. He said he imagines that Tohru would be happier about it if it were Kyo's curse that broke, and that he (Momiji) lost. (I guess he lost in some unspoken one-sided competition of "getting" Tohru, because y'know she's not her own person who is capable of deciding these things for herself or anything)
Later, Momiji goes back to the main Sohma estate, to apologize to Akito for how he acted yesterday, but also to say that he won't be staying there any longer. Akito takes it like a champ, slapping Momiji across the face and insulting him, saying that he's a traitor, he has nowhere else to go, his family either doesn't remember him or hates him, he'll never be happy! and Momiji's just like, "Yeah lol I already feel lonely", that he can't be with the person he loves, and he no longer has that One Thing that previously connected him to most of the other people he's close with, and that there's no going back. He does say though, that it's not Akito's decision or place to say whether Momiji will ever be happy or not, because he might not be happy now, that does not mean that he won't ever be happy in the future. He then asks Akito how long she will stay at the house, thinking that eventually, everyone will come back to her, that no one will be happy without her. What if it's actually her that is most afraid-- Akito isn't down for an analysis, she just tells Momiji to leave.
Let's now go down memory lane, down a nice and happy time, especially for Akito and Ren: Akira's death and it's after effects. Happy times. (apparently i was wrong, the thing i said was the third chunk that wove in nicely with the second was just the second chunk, i think this is the actual third chunk)
Akito is thinking back (on a rainy morning, extra points for setting the mood) on her relationship with her parents. With Akira, it was nice, he always was kind and caring, telling Akito that she is what everyone has been waiting for, and that she thought she was the one Akira loved the most. With Ren, however, she was always cruel, from the start. She always glared at Akito, she was always mean. Akito hates her. We're brought back to the day Akira died, where Ren bursts into the room, asking why she wasn't notified sooner, why Akira had to die alone. One of the attendants said his condition worsened too quickly to call Ren close by, but also that Akira hadn't died alone; he died with Akito by his side. The attendant said that Akira's will had been passed onto Akito, she was now the head of the family. Ren was angered at that, there's no reason for Akito to still be around now! She only tolerated her child being around because Akira liked her, but now that Akira is gone, there is no one to love or care about Akito. Akito said that wasn't true, that all of the Juunishi will love her, because of their bond. (Which is basically what Akira said. He put most of that stuff into her head, and she doubled down on it whenever Ren said anything against it, which might as well be every single time they were around each other)
Back to the present, Kureno comes in the room to talk about something, but Akito interrupts him, saying that she was happy when Yuki was born, as the Rat. It was mostly just something she used to prove Ren wrong, and she used it as long as she could (much to the deterioration of Yuki's mental health). She thought back, over the years, to all the bad things that had happened, how she tried so hard to keep everyone close, and how all of them had, one by one, come to "betray" (cough cough, try to live their own lives, cough cough) her. After Shigure and Yuki left to their present residence, Ren said that they had given up on Akito. When Akito again mentioned their bond (which, really, now that I think about it, has basically been the singular thing straining to keep everything under control. Akito's sole sense of identity was being God, she's never had anything else.), Ren waved it away, then challenged that if any of the Juunishi can go out into the world, experience it in all it's freaky magical ways, and not be taken in by it, and instead return to Akito, then she will have been proved wrong, Akito's claims this whole time will have been correct. If they failed to, however, Ren said that Akito would have to give up the Sohma name. But Akito believed it, she truly believed she was right, that nothing big enough would come between her and the rest of the Juunishi (Tohru has entered the chat). She had to believe it, she just had to. But now, it's evident, between how Haru reacted upon learning about Izusu, Momiji's demeanor after the curse broke, the general way that the rest of the Juunishi float away from Akito, that it isn't true, and with that, she has nothing to hope for.
Upon this realization, Ren bursts into the room, knee-length hair floating around her, eyes crazed, knife in hand, demanding for Akira. Demanding for that box, and whatever contents were inside. In response, Akito fuggin yeeted it at Ren, she didn't give a shit. It flashed back to right before Akira died, and he soothed Akito by saying that, despite dying, he will always be with her. He wanted for Ren to be happy. He wasn't upset that he was dying so soon, he knew that he was just a man who was going to die, but he was happy that he was able to have a child, and to have had that child with Ren, and since that child was special, it was proof that their relationship was a special one. Back to the present, Ren scrambles to the box, tears it open hungrily to find,,, nothing. The box was empty. It'd always been empty, said to have held Akira's soul, but it was mostly just something to help Akito with Akira's passing. Suddenly, Akito grabbed the knife that fell from Ren's hand, poised to stab Ren but then--
Hiro's curse broke. Ren can thank that bond she always scoffed at for saving her life. But hey, now Hiro can hold his baby sister, which is nice. Yay for family moments.
Boo for Akito, because it's just really grinding in that the curse is quickly falling apart, and there's absolutely nothing that she can do about it. Ren taunts Akito, asking if she was trying to kill her. The attendants blow up, one yelling at Ren for making such a scene, taking a knife with her, and another scolds the first for giving Akito that box in the first place, it's stupid! The first attendant said that Akito knew from the start that it was empty, common sense would say that much! (idk man it could've held one last letter from Akira to Akito, a letter wouldn't affect the weight of the box significantly, it's not common sense)
Akito leaves the room, and Kureno follows. Akito says that it was both common sense but also not, that there wasn't anything in the box. She wanted to believe there was a chance that something was in that box, some kind of invisible energy that would help her. But even after opening it, seeing that it was empty, she still held onto it, knowing there wasn't anything. And that was her common sense, that's what she thought. She'd never been given any other way of thinking, of living, so why and how should anyone expect differently? Kureno says that she can start learning now, that that was what he wanted to talk about earlier, that she can't stay here, she'll never be able to move on, to which Akito cuts him off with "Fuggin now, bitch?? You're saying that now?? That doesn't help me! It would have helped in the beginning! But not fucking now!" (which btw is true. i doubt akito was even allowed to go to a public school, that she was schooled within the estate. i really believe that she's never really been outside of the the properties that the Sohma family owns) Then she stabs Kureno, with that knife she's been holding all this time. She reasons with it saying that Kureno's "halfway kindness" has been killing her this whole time, that it can't be fixed by Kureno saying that maybe Akito should go touch some grass. As Akito is running from the scene (more like haggardly stumbling), she continues thinking that it's Kureno's fault, it's not on her, until she remembers what Yuki was saying at the New Year's gathering about blame. It doesn't really fix anything, it just momentarily makes you think that you're not in the wrong. *record scratch* What if it's Akito's fault, then? All of this? What if it's her fault? What if it's the fault of the person who made everyone change? What if it's Tohru's fault?? (dun dun dunnnn)
Meanwhile, back at the other Sohma house (Shigure's house?) Tohru has some confessing to do. Before that though, Kyo has some confessing to do, though not about the same thing. He tells Tohru that he knew her mom before she died, and that he was the reason she died. He tells her that they met when he was really young, and how they had kinda become friends (in that way that people become friends by talking often, but Kyo never told Kyoko his name, because he had some weird thing about having a name so similar). That all fell apart the day that Tohru went missing. He promised that he would find her and rescue her, but after finding that Yuki had done it (the evidence was The Hat), he lashed out, and never talked to Kyoko again. Years later, when he was at the crosswalk, who was beside him but Kyoko, who he recognized instantly. He wasn't sure what to do, whether to say something to her or hold back. He was totally able to grab her arm, get her out of harm's way, but he didn't, he was too scared. (plus yaknow the whole cat thing) He beats himself up about, still to this day. He does the same with his own mom's death. It was his fault that his mom killed herself, she couldn't stand having such a monster as a child. It was too much for her, and she couldn't take any longer. (It wasn't. I won't say that his mom wasn't put under strain for having Kyo, for knowing that he wasn't human, that he turned into a weird monster if his bracelet was taken off, but from what we've seen of his dad, it was probably at least 85-90% his dad's fault. He was too caught up in the politics of the Sohma family, ashamed of the fact that Kyo was the Cat, the worst out of them, that he couldn't even salvage having one of the good freaks to have as a child of his, and he took it all out on his wife and later his son.)
And the book ends on that cheery note. (Why do I say stuff like that why I am I like this)

I feel like all the Shigure hate is less cause of his actions and more just from the perception that he's a pedo and SOO much older than Akito. Which, tbqh I'm not sure where that misconception comes from when Akito was never given an exact age to pin down a gap anyways. but I hate it and I wish this he's "6-9 years older than her" rumor would just be put to rest already! How do you think it even got started anyways when we were never even given Akito's age?
i absolutely agree and i know exactly where it comes from because everyone who claims he’s a pedophile cites the same two scenes. the first:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(note: i dont have official versions of the manga but i’m pretty sure they’re actually saying “love” and not “like”)
everyone who makes this argument, in my opinion, is ignoring one of the central themes of fruits basket: that love can come in many different forms and that platonic love can and does turn into romantic love (source: kyoru). when people cite this scene as an example of shigure’s pedophilia, they’re interpreting shigure’s answer to akito’s question as a declaration of romantic love. the way i interpret this, however, is shigure 1. answering akito’s question straight on 2. speaking to his experience of the close bond he’s always had with akito and 3. reassuring akito, who has had one parent die when they were very young and the other reject and abuse them from birth, that they are loved. i don’t think there is anything romantic about this scene. i think the reason takaya shows us shigure’s answer to this question and not anyone else’s is to showcase that their romance grew from a strong foundation of mutual like and closeness as children. i’m sure ayame and hatori also assure akito that they are loved, but their answers are not plot relevant.
this scene also takes place in the infamous chap 101 where we find out not only that shigure and akito are sleeping together, but that shigure cheated on akito with ren. i think takaya put this scene in the same chapter to contrast their pure love for each other as children with how twisted and dark it has become between the two of them as adults.
the other oft-referenced scene is this one:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
which is interpreted to mean that shigure, an elementary schooler, is announcing that he wants to start a romantic relationship with a person who hasn’t been born yet. i think this interpretation ignores the supernatural aspect of shigure’s love for akito—this is a love that is forced onto the zodiac, one that ayame and hatori rejected because it infringes on their free will, but shigure embraced. i don’t know how shigure could possibly feel romantic love for someone he’s never met, and i think this scene is speaking to the power of the bond and how shigure interprets that. i also personally don’t think an elementary schooler is capable of romantic love and i don’t think a child could have the forethought to decide they want to have an actual relationship with someone, especially someone they’ve never met (and don’t even know the gender of, btw).
people do exaggerate the age difference as well, claiming shigure is older than he is and akito is younger than they are. however, takaya makes a very clear delineation as to who is a teenager and who is an adult, and akito sits very firmly on the adult side of things. we know akito is older than kagura, who is around 18 at the beginning of fruits basket, but younger than ritsu, who is college-aged (unclear, bw 19-21). shigure states akito is older than 20 in the last arc at the very least. i think it would make the most sense for akito to be 5 yrs older than yuki and 5 yrs younger than shigure, because it would mean akito and yuki wouldn’t have been in high school at overlapping times and making akito fully an adult when yuki is in high school. and shigure, ayame, and hatori were born the same year, making shigure 10 years older than yuki. so this would mean at the beginning of fb yuki is 15/16, akito is 20/21, and shigure is 25/26.
(EDIT: shigure is 26 or 27 in the beginning of fruits basket; i made the estimation based on ayame’s statement that he is 10 years older than yuki and that ayame and shigure were the same age, but actually shigure is the oldest of the zodiacs and it’s likely shigure and ayame were born at opposite ends of the same year. so, he is likely 26 or 27 in the beginning of fruits basket.)
i think this claim is about interpreting shigure’s statements to akito when he was a child as romantic where i interpret them to be platonic/familial with the bond itself being the source. i think it also ignores the supernatural aspect of their relationship and shigure’s relationship to the curse as something that isn’t necessarily inherently bad (remember: his motivation to break the curse is to be on equal footing with akito and so he doesn’t have to share, not because the curse is a detriment on his life). the one unclear thing is when exactly shigure and akito started having a sexual relationship, but deciding that is purely headcanon since there’s absolutely nothing in the text to support one idea over the other. but claiming shigure is a pedophile when there are actual pedophiles in fruits basket is a waste of time and an interpretation of the text i feel ignores the importance fb places on platonic love.

FIX YOU (PROMPT 5: Shopping Together)
AO3
“People have been telling me that you’ve barricaded yourself into your home”
“People are exaggerating,” he drawls, lying flat on the sofa, face planted down. “Anyone’s free to drop by. Its just that these days I prefer to stay indoors with my trusty cartons of strawberry milk and the rest of the essentials.”
Tsukuyo sighs. “Gintoki, I can’t be the first person here who told you that the way you’re going around right now isn’t the healthiest lifestyle.” She looks around, noticing the garbage bags piling up, along with stacks of JUMP comics that could flood a bookshelf. The furniture looked way out of place, and everything in general looked murky. “How has Shinpachi and Kagura not reprimanded you yet?”
“Cause they’re busy,” he sighs, not budging at all. “One’s in space, hunting monsters, the other now works with the Shinsengumi, under the supervision of his gorilla brother-in-law.” He finally gets up, stretching his arms out and yawning. His eyes looked darker, his hair askew. His attire, never changing, looked worse for wear and reeked of sake. “Everyone’s busy.”
“And you’re just living up the NEET life?” she retorts, not amused at his behaviour. He simply raises his eyebrows, and walks slowly to the refrigerator, taking out a carton of strawberry milk.
“…whatever. This business was never gonna be of any worth anyway.”
Tsukuyo sighed, knowing what was going on. Gintoki had never relied on anyone, but he never allowed himself to be this down before too. Something must’ve happened to him, but he would never let anyone know what it was. He would silently move to steel his resolve and fix the issues however he could, but now it seemed that the demons consuming him had taken up residence deep within, and it was clearly something he couldn’t shake off.
Gintoki quietly walks back to sit down on the couch, putting his legs up above the sofa table, drinking the milk with relish. Smacking his lips after a deep drink, he peers over to Tsukuyo with a questioning stare.
“So… what brings you here?”
“Checking up on you.”
“Well,” he waves around his arm. “You’ve checked it out. What else?”
Tsukuyo stays quiet for a while, seemingly deep in thought. Gintoki’s confusion increases, and he starts waving at her, trying to get her attention. A sharp whistle finally gets her to look at him. He sees her eyes filled with resolve, and wonders what’d she come up with.
“Come shopping with me.”
“Nope,” he retorts immediately.
“I’ll get you strawberry milk.”
“Already stoked up on that.”
“I’ll get you a chocolate parfait.”
“Three chocolate parfaits.”
“…sure, why not.”
*
Tsukuyo bought him everything.
They went to the place he normally goes to get him new sets of the Zunborans school jersey, along with fresh yukatas. She made him change into them soon after buying, complaining how he had left his place with his attire emitting a pungent smell to anyone close to him. Then came soaps, shampoos, deodorants. After that, they went to the market to get him groceries, because she vehemently complained that a diet of strawberry milk and chocolate chips was not going to cut it for his foreseeable future. At the end of the day, she got him the three chocolate parfaits as part of the bargain. They were now seated at the cafe booth, where he was maniacally gorging on the first parfait, while she enjoyed a small cup of tea, looking out the window.
Midway through consuming the second parfait, he looks up, beckoning at Tsukuyo. “How come you’re just spending the whole day here. Don’t you have Hyakka stuff to take care of all the time?”
She smiles. “I took a break today.”
“…and this is how you spend your free time?”
“I wanted to,” she corrects him, winking. Her smile widens at his confused look.
They come back home soon after that, and she stays on, helping him clear the garbage and wipe the place clean, and then helps him prepare dinner for the night. He soon realizes that she’s clumsy at cooking, and stares at wonder when she throws a very small batch of overcooked meat into the bin, too shy to confess that her trial run with the meat ended in failure. He smiles, approaching her station, and shows her the steps, explaining to her how its all left to a balanced mix of intuition and instruction with the cooking. She stares in wonder, nodding vigorously, while taking mental notes of his explanations.
It’s late night when Tsukuyo finally decides to leave, informing Gintoki that she’ll be coming early tomorrow.
“For what?”
“Hinowa’s found a job for you.”
*
Gintoki’s amazed at how the days turned into months, flying by so fast. The task of being Seita’s tutor wasn’t exactly the best fit for Gintoki, but after a couple of kunais to the head after the first session, he soon adapted into a competent History teacher for the kid, teaching him how to memorize the proper dates, and encouraged him to write flashcards and study schedules to help with the learning. It also helped that he was moonlighting as the sword master for the Shinsengumi, as the mayo freak approached him with the job offer, saying about how the police force was swelling exponentially, and he couldn’t teach all the classes anymore. Gintoki gladly accepted both the tasks. They paid well, they kept him busy, and he didn’t have to be alone with his thoughts anymore.
At Tsukuyo’s behest, he had also reached out to both Shinpachi and Kagura, who were overjoyed at the samurai finally talking and going out. Obviously, there was the usual scolding, but it didn’t take long before Gintoki realized how he had kept the two of them worried all this time, and actively offered to make amends. They demanded weekly calls, to which he obliged.
At a small dinner party arranged by Hinowa at her place, Gintoki glares at Tsukuyo, wondering how she had slowly peeled open the layers that he had been building up over himself since the war. She had quietly understood his troubles, and instead of forcing him into a compromise, she had slowly allowed him to take his time in reclaiming his space, silently and gently nudging him to do the things needed to fix himself. He takes a small bite of the food, slowly chewing, while ruminating on all the actions and decisions that led him to to where he currently was. Soon, he notices a hand waving at him, and he comes back to focus on a concerned Tsukuyo.
“…whatcha thinking?”
He smiles serenely. “Nothing.”
*
It’s one of those bad days. She gets a call from him late at night, and hears him slurring his sentences, calling out her name drunkenly. She realizes instantly, assured him that she’s on her way, and shouts out instructions to Hinowa as she quickly slips into her shoes to step out in the heavy rain. The stilettos were not a wise choice, but right now she doesn’t care. She runs as fast as she can, not pausing one bit on the way.
Drenched to the bone, she quietly enters the apartment, closing the sliding doors behind her, and sees him sitting on the sofa, arms lying out, one hand clutching a bottle of sake. Empty cans of beer, with few bits of liquor strewn close to his feet. He stares at the ceiling, mouth open, quietly humming to himself. She cautiously approaches him, knocking over some can as she walks. Hearing the noise, he turns his head around slowly, glancing at her, pausing to take a better look. His eyes glimmer slightly, and he stirs, a sad smile etched onto his face.
“You arrived,” he gasped. She nodded.
Tears slowly streams down his face as he let go of the bottle, letting it fall and shatter into pieces. He slowly budges towards her, and she rushes to him, immediately enveloping him in a warm embrace. She sees him melt, breaking into sobs, and carefully places him on her chest, gently caressing his head as he cried fanatically. He clutched onto her tightly as if he’d never let go, anchoring to her back, and she held on to him too.
“Takasugi… sensei…” he sobs, gasping for air in between sentences. “Why’s it have… to be this way…”
“You did your best, Gintoki,” she whispers, gently consoling him. “You did everything… you could’ve done.”
“But… it just wasn’t enough. It never was…” Gintoki mutters. “How I wish… I just wish… it could all go away. How I wish I could wash away the pain…”Tsukuyo listens on quietly, her own eyes welling up. Gintoki had never looked this broken, this fragile. And it broke her heart.
She unties her obi, loosening the top of her yukata, and peels of the overalls to reveal her naked chest. Freeing her arms, she gently cups his face, bringing him closer. She kisses him softly, landing multiple pecks while caressing his cheeks. He freezes for a moment before moving closer, removing his clothes, and returning her pecks with a long, passionate kiss of his own.
*
He pushes in and out vigorously, furiously kissing her. She hooks onto him, clinging onto his back with her legs while she she anchors her arms to his shoulders. The climax was coming soon, and she knew she wouldn’t be able to hold on much longer. A few minutes later, she comes, shaking violently while holding onto him for dear life. He climaxes too, gently descending down onto the futon to set her down, collapsing on her slowly after he finished. She brings him closer to her, gently allowing him to rest his head on her chest as he settles.
“You know,” he murmurs, as she caresses his silver curls. “This is not how I wanted our first time to be.”
“Don’t be,” she replies, patting him. “You don’t have anything to apologize for.” He glances back at her, quietly nodding, and she gently smiles, cupping his face. He clasps her hands, smiling back.
“Thank you, Tsukki. For everything.”

I don’t know if you’ve watched Fullmetal Alchemist (I highly recommend it, in fact it’s in my top 3 anime’s) but it has a HUGE following. It’s one of the most liked anime’s in the industry.
Now, in that anime Edward and Alphonse’s father is an immortal character. Now here comes the fun part, he met the boys’ mother when she was a child and he was a grown man.
It’s funny because no one has a problem with this. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is very well loved and has a similar theme of immortal character meeting/being involved in their future wives life as a child. So, the “Moral Police” need to stop and just say they’re mad Sesshomaru didn’t end up with Kagura.
You can’t hate Yashahime for something many other anime’s do, and mind you, VERY popular anime’s. Anyway that’s my rant thanks for listening!
Don't know if I....
Tumblr media
*ages a hundred years*
Darling, I grew up watching FMA on Adult Swim. 😭😭😭 my friend would record the episodes on VHS tapes so we could watch them after school. Same with Inuyasha, Cowboy Bepop, Wolf's Rain, and others. Ghost in the Shell, maybe? Sometimes.
GOD I AM SO OLD
But aside from that
*rocks back and forth on the porch*
It's almost like there's an entire literary trope about immortal beings falling in love with mortals that date all the way back to ancient times, and it results in half deities, or demigods. It's almost like this sort of thing has been a part of story telling for eons.
Inuyasha and Yashahime is not, and never has been, unique in that it's the only anime that ever portrays this type of relationship. Critical thinking and literary analysis is very helpful in breaking down messages and themes, and having ANY sort of variety of books, stories, and media that give the reader a wide array of perspectives is even better for creating mature opinions about works of art.
Antis can't even read Twilight with their logic. Edward is a pedo according to them. 🤷‍♀️ there are so many examples, ugh.
Please, for the love of God, read some classics.
