I’m also basing this headcanon off of Red Hood: The Outlaws from Webtoon— but anyway, he wouldn’t be too discriminative, he just wants and needs someone that can always be by his side and loyal, but he would make it so obvious that his type would be badass, strong, and independent. Like, the entire DC fandom just knows he’s a Wonder Woman fan too, so… 💀

After care would consist of cuddles, reassuring words until him and his partner would fall asleep, and food— especially food. You celebrate his birthday by spoiling him and worshipping him just because it's his birthday, he may learn to enjoy it. All your attention is on him and your priority is to make him happy, i feel like he's not gonna give that up or tell you no. I mean, how could he say no to his favorite doll wanting to treat him? You give him your absolute attention all day? You make plans just for him? You gift him things and arrange things specifically for him? You dress up to his liking just to see him get worked up? You just make a whole day literally dedicated to his exact existence and put him on a pedestal of importance that no one else has ever done? Dude will have the absolute ego trip of his life, no shame at all because bitch, it's his birthday. Will sit back with his hands behind his head like "aight shawty, do your thing." And he'd absolutely be smug about it too.

And, of course, I must mention the birthday sexy fun times. Birthday smash? Just because it's his birthday? Hot dog! Sign him the fuck up. It was the simplest cake you've ever made, so why didn't it work this time? Did you maybe forget to put in the baking powder? Did mammon forget to put in the melted butter?

Let's go to the root of it all.

"Eh? 40 minutes waiting? Why?", Mammon asked as you weighed 400 gramms of wheat semolina.

"Because the buttermilk and the wheat need to be left swelling in order for the cake to go up when it's put in the oven.", you explained as you took half a litre of the buttermilk and mixed it with the wheat into a dough, and you then put a plate on the bowl in order to keep it protected from flies or something like that.

Mammon furrowed his brows in confusion. "Are you sure 150 gramms of sugar will be sweet enough for the cake?", he asked as he replayed the video to see if it really said that.

You shrugged your shoulders. "it's best to stick to the receipt, no?"

"Hm...I still don't know if it'll be sweet enough..."

"well, it's actually preserved for when you drink tea, you know?"

"Huh, Satan would love that. I hope Beel doesn't eat the dough though." "Me too, but I thought he only ate tasty stuff?"

Mammon gave you an unnerving smile. "he...he once ate a remote and mistook it for food...and when he realized that...he didn't give a shit and ate it up...nothing is safe near him."

You nodded in understanding. "Well, if we can bake this cake here, thent we can bake dozens for Beel. I'm sure he'd love that! Also, the cakes always make me feel full!", you exclaimed happily as you then weighed the 350 gramms of flour and mixed it with the sugar.

Some of the flour got into Mammon's face and you couldn't help but giggle at his face. He grinned before blowing some into your face. You two goofed around a bit before turning serious. But, whenever one person looked at the other, it ended in a laughing fit because none of you guys wanted to wipe away the flour, just to make the other one laugh.

You added a tablespoon of baking powder to it before leaving the dry mixture alone as well, and you ordered Mammon to take out the butter from the refrigerator and also four eggs.

"My mother always told me that it'd be best to let the eggs cool down. Whenever I'm making a biscuit cake, I always take the eggs out the day prior in order for the cake to become fluffier, and it actually really helps!", you rambled ahead as Mammon listened to you intently. He liked that you were so chatty with him.

He loved the fact that literally none of the brothers were there to interrupt your time with him. Lucifer, Levithan, Satan and Belphie were doing their thing, were the eldest was doing paperwork, the third eldest playing games, Satan reading yet another interesting book and Belphie just sleeping.

Beel was out with his friends to do some sports, and Asmo was out to go shopping.

"Really? Maybe I shoulda show ya a receipt as well sometimes, ____!"

"You know how to bake cakes?"

At that, Mammon stopped as he averted his eyes, rubbing his neck sheepishly. "No...but when I use a baking video as help--you know?"

You nodded reassuringly. "Of course! The first ten times I bakes that cake, I was never sure with the weight-numbers, so it's safer with help than without it!"

Mammon sighed in relief that you didn't bully or tease him for it.

After you cut off some from the butter to have it weighing 200 gramms, you put the rest of the butter into the refrigerator and left the eggs next to it.

"Now, we just have to wait for half an hour.", you spoke and cleaned some utensils, with Mammon watching you.

Mammon felt like there was something you two didn't consider, but he didn't know what. And as the minutes passed where he was on his phone, and you looking at his phone, the feeling intensified.

...

"Okay, 40 minutes are over, let's melt the butter now!", you cheered happily, and Mammon took out a pan and heated it up. You cut the butter in pieces to have them melt faster, and ordered Mammon to whisk the cracked eggs before adding them to the flour and sugar, which were mixed with the table spoon of baking powder.

He did as you told him, and he was glad that he didn't mess anything up. Soon enough, you told him to add the dough (wheat and buttermilk) to the mix, and he also mixed that before you let the butter in the bowl and told Mammon to step aside as you worked on the oily dough.

"Please heat up the oven, Mammon.", you said softly, and he complied. You then looked at the baking forms in thought.

"Rectangular or round?", you asked, eyeing the forms. Mammon shrugged as he turned to you. "Which form did you use?"

"Round."

"Then let's use the round one."

And with Mammon's help, you managed to put baking paper underneath the form before he closed the edge, trapping the paper in between and you spluttered the dough into the form.

After pressing it down evenly everywhere, mammon quickly opened the oven for you to put the form with the dough in and closed it again.

Then he voiced out his concern. "You know, ____...I think we are forgetting something...", he spoke, and you looked at him confused.

"Huh? And what would that be? Did we forget the baking powder?"

Mammon shook his head in thought. "No...the pack is opened and the spoon has some of the powder still in it, so we did use it...but I can't help but get a bad feeling from this...", he muttered, scratching his white hair in frustration.

You looked at the ingredients in thought. They started looking weird to you. then it dawned to you. You looked at mammon.

"Are...are the ingredients like the ones from the human world...?", you asked.

Mammon's eyes widened. He sucked in a breath. "That was it!...but...I -....I actually have no idea..."

that meant you two would have to wait and see the results.

"Heh, we made it.", Mammon spoke proudly as he looked at the cake, already drooling at it's nice smell and the shining light brown crust. You were still skeptical though.

"Let's taste it first.", you spoke before you cut off a small piece and gave it to Mammon. He bit it, blushing as you spoonfed him, but then he frowned at you.

"What?", you asked as you took a bite yourself before wincing. "Sugar.", you winced.

"I told you so. We should've put in more sugar.", he grumbled, but you only laughed. "C'mon, we can drink tea with sugar, it'll be alright."

Then you looked up at him with a sweet smile. "It was nice baking with you, Mammon."

The boy blushed at your words and stammered something back.

"N-no problem! A-a-and if you have some free time...some other day...I would--I'd like to bake one of my favourite cakes with you too...!"

"I'd love that."

And then when he thanks her and basically confirms that she’s helped him through moments like that before just agrgrhrhhrhrhrhrh fuckkk they’re so 🤲🤲🤲

On the Robin/Child Sidekick Child Soldier thing. The main argument (Doylist) is that it's a Child power fantasy. And no offense but Batman treats the Robins like shit and is respected by the community and faces little consequences for it. He rarely even properly apologizes. How is that a 'power fantasy for children'? That's a power fantasy for adults harming children. (Ergo why people are often less bothered by other child heroes who either have better treatment from their mentors or more independence)

So many plots about how Child Heroes might be bad. Old Justice, Jericho, ect. And also actually killing Sidekicks like Jason Todd and having them be traumatized by their experiences and unsupported. If Jason Todd was a 'child power fantasy' what the fuck was having him betrayed by his mother, brutally murdered and victim blamed by almost everyone who knew him?

Jason Robin does not work as a power fantasy because a lot of writers who wrote him or about him did not like him and/or child sidekicks. Therefore Jason Todd is not a child power fantasy but a child soldier with an epitaph to prove it. (he works a bit as a revenge power fantasy pre-boot post-resurrection though)

Plenty of child heroes work as power fantasies in comics I've read but not Robin. Not in a lot of comics.

When Robin appears in other media, like lego batman or teen titans or other cartoons and such, i see no issue with it. Because, when i was a child not that long ago, child heroes FUCKED. People my age, who were acknowledge to be smart and strong and independent and could be relied upon to do awesome shit? Hell yeah!! Once you graduate from thinking like that to "omg who let the children take care of everything and be in danger etc etc.", congratulations! You've grown out of that kind of show and should probably go watch something made for adults!

Except uh. Then you do go read something more mature, in this case the comics, and... Robin is still there! otherwise like. i was mostly neutral on vincent for a while—like ive always thought he was interesting but mostly i was only neutral bc i was more distracted but whatever the fuck my blorbo subaru has going on in arc 7 aodndnd yeah i was just distracted HAH. well that and arc 7 WAS my intro to vincent (and literally everything going on with vollachias politics) so like i didnt have much interest for most of the ex novels until i got to arc 7 and suddenly gained a bunch of side character blorbos along the way. and like admittedly arc 7 is. i feel like its chaotic which—ok yeah obviously its chaotic but i always felt like arc 5 was like more tightly knit with it? like more purposeful, and it was easier for me to get invested in everyone there bc royal selection stuff has been established since the beginning and the main storys been in/around lugunica…. until arc 7. for me it was like jarring at first. especially since like. littol old me with my lack of ex novel knowledge at the time was left floundering a bit bc WOAH VOLLACHIA THINGS ALL AT ONCE…. NEW CHARACTERS…. ANOTHER NEW CHARACTER… NEW CHARACTER NUMBER 1000… and tbh i was like. it felt so sudden all at once to me so i found it hard to be super invested in SO MANY PEOPLE all at once HAH. which i get was like. it was pretty understandable to have so many people. but it took me a WHILE to get warmed up to the vollachia drama for these reasons wkdndn so yes i warmed up to vincent even more over time <33 i think the final nail in the coffin for me caring about him was like. seeing his facade crack after he gets beat up by subaru in arc 8 and he just. Cracks. and he collapses to his knees and sobs over losing chisha and its such a human moment—like i think its easy to forget vincent is still human (ESPECIALLY when vollachia loathes weakness so much!!) bc he’ll do shit like only blinking one eye at a time bc Understandable Paranoia from being Vollachia’s Emperor and he’ll be like ruthless and cunning but like in that moment hes just. crying over losing his dearest friend bc said friend made this elaborate plan to sacrifice himself to save vincent. and when vincent just asked “why did you leave me?”…… like that survivor’s guilt and distress and despair and grief is so universal and understandable…. so YEAH HAH i really softened up some more to vincent bc like i said. its such a human moment and that moment with him and subaru is like tjis big step in vincents development. its fascinating!! im interested to see what happens next in arc 8 and im interested to learn more about him <3 i took a while to get used to the vollachia drama but now i am Very intrigued. and also i know way more lore now compared to when arc 7 first started so yayy!!!!! everyday i become even more of a nerd for rezero. 😭😭 im coming for those ex novels someday. like i said.

Cue a montage of desperate texts and many phonecalls I declined from my ex who tried to make excuses on how he was drunk and it was an accident. I ignored all of em and blocked him when he didn't stop. I went by to his parents place to drop off his things and his parents didn't know yet so I told them, legit broke down in front of his mom and she called him and yelled at him on the phone shdjhffh 💀 I'm still close with his family (esp his sisters) cause well we've known eachother since we were kids, I'm basically their daughter at this point. And thankfully they're also mad at him and idk what happened after that but one of his sisters told me he's "all on his own now" so I guess they cut all contact from him? Or cut his funds? I'm not sure.

But yeah end of story, I think this is my juciest life story yet. And what's the moral of the story? No matter how neon the green flag it only takes one switch to make it blood red *eats snacks* anyways how are you sel :D

also i have a few theories about our MC if you don't mind-

1. so... as i played through the nightmare scene for the 9th time in a row to fully relish the horror and trauma, i realized that our dear (but unfortunate) MC must have gone through something MUCH MUCH worse than merely watching their father get oofed off by their mother 🤔🤔🤔 because i once read somewhere that if someone experiences like a really bad traumatic experience their brain will instinctively suppress their memories and lock them away to protect the person from getting anymore affected and also to give them a sense of normality? dunno about that our brains can be really mysterious sometimes, which brings me to my second theory

2. OK OK OK i know this may sound crazy and also scientifically inaccurate, but i think MC has some sort of Dissociative disorder? i mean- how do you explain their sudden black out from their home to their journey all the way to Bale's territory and the bar? or maybe im just overthinking it and perhaps its somehow related to the hallucinations and the syringes that have been emphasized over multiples times in the demo

3. why do i feel our MC is being drugged with something 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 or maybe something happened before or after the incident with their father otherwise why would Alex act so sus, Vincent too, YALL TOO SUS

First of all, so there'll be no misunderstandings, I want to make it clear that what the MC is going through isn't exactly a dissociative disorder, although there is some degree of disassociation happening. I can't explain further because it's a very huge spoiler, but not everything they've been experiencing can be solely attributed to the level of trauma and other related occurrences that DID patients often went through before being diagnosed. It's a little... different.

This does not mean, however, that the MC has no repressed memories 😔 If you look carefully, there are actually some more hints spread throughout the demo, although some of them are hidden behind certain routes. A lot are in Chapter 2, though. Anyway, the revelations relating to it won’t be the focus of Book 1, but there will be a lot more clues in the future.

And yeah, I'm afraid Alex and Vincent will continue to be sus all the way.

To be fair, I don't think arresting them counts as offing lmao but yeah there's a heavy corruption occurring within the police force and everybody knows it; it's just that most of the people in Gaile cannot do anything to stop it. And don't worry about Bertrand, he already sleeps with one eye open lmaoooo although he does have kind of a huge role (spoiler: he will always be an asshole).

this takes place like during/after ep 99 if you want a timeline ref if you k ow the scene with them sitting by the navy tower i think that happened lmao cant remmeber its been a bit anyways

albatrio pass out, wake up in funky lil forest and are like "lets split up and find shit yk figure out where we are" adn chibo feels drawn to a funny silly path that he goes down! and then theres a lake an he's like "hrmm im thirsty :3" and drinks from it and passes out

wakes up half drowned now in the lake, gets yanked out by the other two, and then has a breakdown (as you do)

and now they go and adventure! but theres something fucked up about the funny forest and every time chibo schleeps we get kuba kinta curse shit but sooo much fucking worse we get several end of 97 vibe scenes where bro is in denial and isnt sure whats real and what isnt (love me some of that shit) all the while the forest is like out to get them theres shit attacking them every so often and chip ends up basically being out of commision really quickly so now its down to jay and gil to fight it off

and during one of these encounters with the very much so alive forest jay goes to defend chibo and basically gets taken (or killed depending on the timeline)

and this is where it diverges between my two timeline ideas

timeline a) gil either rescues jay or gets her out before she can be taken

timeline b) gil doesnt get to her in time and she gets taken (unbeknownst to them shes basically very gorily mauled to death)

both timelines would come to the end of the forest bit shortly after this

timeline a would have chip slowly deteriorating away (atp is puking up plants that fuck up his insides and blood and shit, this stuff also slowly gets worse with the new curse on him alongside the physical effects and injuries he gains) and jay n gil find somewhere where they think they could get him help, he ushers them both away and basically just lets himself die

we get a scene where the other two come back and theres a whole huge grief bit, gil basically is just bonkers as shit now because jesus fucking christ bro just died and they go and find some way to bring him back (not sure what exactly i have ideas tho) and yeah they inevitably bring him back but chibo is very fucked up (very physically damaged and his vocal cords are fucked up from shit lmao)

timeline b, however, is the more fun one

since they didnt get jay, gil goes searching for her and ends up finding her (very gorey) body and just had a breakdown then and there menawhile chip has just decided "im fuckin done i cant do this no more" and basically very violently pukes shit up and kinda claws his own gut open and just has a less peaceful death overall

gil basically had to watch this helplessly because they are frozen in fear and just anguish and now theyre in this tiny little alcove with the gorey bodies of their two best friends and they just go insane and end up just driving their sword through themself because they cant take this no more

so yeah i made that 👍 theres a sequel to timeline a with spittake and grizz but thats another topic for another time
