Okay so like. Obviously Karlach's most glaringly obvious theme is that of a woman who was betrayed, sold into slavery, and managed to escape. But her secondary theme, and the one that we actually confront and grapple with most during the course of her story, is that of her infernal engine. Spoilers below for all acts, including the ending of the game.
From the moment we meet her in Act 1, Karlach is dying. From the very earliest part of her character quest, she is told her engine cannot sustain her forever- she is living on borrowed time. Further, she is isolated from the world because of it- she can't hug her friends, can't take a lover, can't even interact with the world like the rest of her peers. She is constantly conscious of her body and the way that it is different- she has to be. She's told that if she returns to the state she was in before, even more isolated and fighting a constant war that she will never truly win, she can at least survive. When she refuses this option, when she expresses that it isn't an option at all, that she would rather have an enjoyable short time than a miserable long one, it is in many ways framed as her "giving up".
This, to me, speaks to the story of a terminal or chronic illness, or a disability. A life spent fighting your own body, restricted by your condition, desperately wanting to be like everyone else. Being unable to have physical contact or intimacy, whether because of the risk to your health, or simply because you can't even form the connections to get to that point in a relationship with someone because your experiences are so different or your condition takes up your time and mind. And if you decide to forego treatment, if you decide the benefits of it aren't worth the consequences, you're told you're giving up, pushed to keep fighting.
Now, in Act 2, with the help of Dammon, Karlach is able to upgrade her engine enough to be able to protect others from the consequences of her engine. She can hug people, she can have physical contact. She's full of joy, even as Dammon is reminding her that she's dying- because she's finally getting the chance to live again. She's finally done letting her condition dictate her life, and she throws herself into everything that means.
In Act 3, we see her experience ups and downs within that. We see the grief over her coming death suddenly hit her, we see her mourn herself, the life she could have had. We see her get angry, at the people who put her in this position, at the people around her who are living "normal" lives, even a little bit at herself. Even though she's accepted the path that will lead to her death, she's still grieving it.
At the culmination of her arc, we see her volunteer to become a mind flayer in order to save the world. She's dying anyway, she argues, may as well do it saving the world. It's not just a heroic offer of sacrifice- to her, it's the logical conclusion. It's pragmatic. It doesn't matter what form she dies in, it'll happen regardless.
Only... it doesn't. If she transforms, her engine stabilizes. More than that, she starts to feel even more like herself. She's hideous, in a form that is reveiled by society, her body permanently altered- people don't look at her and see Karlach. They see a mind flayer. Her friends offer her pity, her allies immediately take to referring to her as an illithid regardless of who she was before. And yet, she says, she feels more of herself than she ever has. She has a future, she has hope, she's happy.
I see this culmination as an allegory for the use of aids or the receipt of radical treatment. You can be the healthiest and happiest you've been in your whole life- but if you take medications, if you use mobility aids, if you have scars from a life-improving surgery, anything that makes it visible that you're embracing and working with your condition... that's when the sympathy starts pouring in. That's when you're viewed as a tragedy, or something gross and unfit for being seen in public. That's when people recoil and ask what happened to you, even when they never reacted at all when you were at your worst. People stop looking at you and seeing you, and start seeing your condition. Despite all of that, though, finding aids that fit your needs or getting the right procedure can revolutionize your life. It can set you free, and it can empower you to find joys you never knew were possible.
For Karlach's story, I honestly feel like becoming an Illithid is the best ending- because it does that for her. It's not a fuzzy warm perfect ending- but it sets her free. It gives her agency over her life again, and regardless of what anyone else sees when they look at her, she can be proud of what she's accomplished. Of the future ahead of her, of the person she's become, of all the parts of being Karlach she now gets to explore.
She never gets to live a "normal" life. But she gets to be happy. And she saves the goddamn world.

The Things You Give Part 33
Whooooooweeee it's be a very long time! I'm so sorry it took so long to write this! I've been having a hard time feeling motivated but it's past the New Years and I decided that I need to end this story shortly. Story isn't done quite yet, but there are only a few more chapters! I hope you all had a beautiful holiday season and New Years! I know I did. Enjoy the chapter!
Quick note: Danny Masterson has been imprisoned and now Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are under fire and now being cancelled apparently. Not a good start of the year for anyone.

June 1, 1979
Point Place, Wisconsin
Forman/Hyde Residence
Eric Forman’s Kitchen
“Hey, you two, how was your doctor’s appointment?” Kitty asked as she was stirring a hot pot of chili on the stove.
“Ugh,” Y/n groaned and plopped down on the chair at the table.
“The doctor says she can pop any day now,” Hyde answered for her and opened the fridge for a drink.
“Awe, sweetheart, you must be so uncomfortable,” Kitty said.
“I am. I’m so sick of being pregnant,” she whined. “I’m tired, my ankles are fat, my back hurts and—Steven! Will you please stop breathing down my neck?!”
“Uh,” he replied from the counter, no where close to her. “I’m over here.”
Y/n whined again. “I’m so sick of being pregnant.”
“The doctor said there are a couple things we can do to induce labor,” Steven said and pulled out a list. “She said we can try spicy foods, long walks, castor oil—”
“Don’t forget what she said could be more effective,” Y/n cut in.
Steven gave her a stoney look and put his hand on his hip. “I’m not saying that.”
“Why not? She’s a nurse she hears this stuff all the time! Besides, she’s gone through this as well!”
“What? Tell me what?” Kitty asked.
“No, I’m not saying it!”
“Steven!”
“Oh, for Pete’s sake, tell me what?!” Kitty cried out.
“The doctor said sex can be the most effective to induce labor,” Y/n blurted out.
“Y/n, what the hell?!” Steven said, embarrassed.
“Oh,” Kitty said lowly and dropped her gaze back to the chili, almost uninterested. “Okay.”
“Okay? That’s all you got to say?” Y/n asked.
“Honey, it’s pretty clear that you wouldn’t be pregnant if you and Steven hadn’t…you know…”
“Okay!” Steven interrupted. “As nice as this conversation is, I gotta get to work.”
“Okay, fine, but—Mom, cover your ears—we’re doing it later!” Y/n shouted after him as he slammed the door shut, hoping to drown out that last part.
“Well, isn’t that lovely,” Kitty mumbled and poured herself a cup of chili. “Y/n, on a more appropriate topic, do you want some chili?”
“Hey, guys,” Eric introduced himself as he entered the kitchen. “Great news! I’m on my way to becoming a teacher. I filled out all my college application with red pen.” He giggled to himself. “That’s a teacher joke.”
“Well, now look at him!” Red announced as he walked through the kitchen door. “Out of bed and productive before three o’ clock.”
“Honey, you’re like a marine!” Kitty said cheerfully.
“A marine?” Y/n asked. “The only time I ever saw him storm a beach was when he was running away from a jellyfish!”
“Damn, what did you have for breakfast this morning? Carnation Instant Bitch?” Eric quipped.
“If I could get up, I’d kick your ass for saying that,” Y/n threatened, sighing, and shifted uncomfortably in her seat, the pain in lower back starting to intensify.
“Yeah, anyway,” Eric said and turned back to Red. “Hey, dad, all I need from you now is a financial statement so the school can see where I'm getting the old moola.”
“Oh, well, you see about that…” Red mumbled, nervous. “I, uh...I spent your college money to keep the muffler shop going.”
“What?!” the twins shouted.
“You spent our college fund?!” Y/n continued.
“Why do you care?” Eric asked her. “It’s not like you’re going to college anytime soon. You don’t even know what you want to study.”
“Who says I don’t?” she asked. “I decided that I’m going to study biomedical engineering. Beat that, teach.”
“You’re going to study biomedical engineering?!” Kitty asked excitedly. “I knew you were going to take after me in the medical field!”
“Except the difference is she’ll be helping advance technology in the medical field instead of having to wipe people’s butts and administer them their IV’s,” Red said.
“Is that what you think I do all day?” Kitty asked, offended.
“Uh…” he whipped back to Y/n who was looking up at him with an amused smile. “Good job, kitten. I’m proud of you.”
“Thank you,” she responded. “It would mean more if we had our college money!”
“Dad, how are we supposed to pay for college?” Eric asked.
“Look, with this damn mild winter, nobody's muffler rusted,” Red said. “I tried to rust them. I even went out at night and sprinkled salt all over the streets!”
Kitty squinted at her husband. “Not my good kosher salt!”
Red looked at his wife with a deadpanned look and rolled his eyes. “Yes, Kitty, I sprinkled the streets of Point Place with your half-pound bag of salt.”
“Wait. Mom, you knew about this?” Eric asked. “And you just said, ‘Please, go ahead. Take my son's college money and use it on a muffler shop?’”
“No,” she responded. “I think your father asked me if I thought you two would amount to anything, and I said, ‘I really, really hope so.’ And then he said, ‘I'm spending the twins’ college money on my muffler shop.’ And then I made the best blueberry cobbler I have ever made."
“Man, that was good,” Y/n reminisced. “I remember that cobbler. I always wondered why, when I said it was so good, you said, ‘At least I can give you this,’ and started to cry.”
“So, the upshot is, I have absolutely no money for college,” Eric said and puckered his lips in deep thought. “Looks like I’m going to have to use that football scholarship that was offered to me.”
“Oh, Eric, we should go talk to Mr. Bray!” Y/n suggested.
“Our old guidance counselor?” he asked.
“Finding money for college is what high school guidance counselors do.”
“I don't know about Mr. Bray. I don't think he really liked me,” Eric said. “One time I told him I was being bullied, and he just said, ‘What'd you expect?’"
“I’ll go with you,” Y/n said. “Mr. Bray loved me…in almost entirely appropriate ways.”
“Yeah…we’ll go,” Eric said, a little concerned.
“Okay, now that we got all that settled, we should celebrate!” Kitty announced.
Y/n scoffed. “Sure. With what?”
                                             --Later that day—
“Hey, don’t forget about the Led Zepplin concert next Friday,” Eric reminded his friends as they all sat in the basement.
“How could I forget?” Hyde asked. “It was the greatest bribery I’ve ever had.”
Y/n rolled her eyes at them.
It didn’t go unnoticed by Hyde. “What’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing," she sighed, eyeing the TV and rubbed her belly.
“No, no you don’t get to do that just because you’re pregnant,” he pushed. “I know you, what’s wrong?”
“Awe, Steven, that’s really sweet,” Jackie said and turned to Markus. “When he and I were together, he wouldn’t even be bothered to ask me what was wrong. It didn’t even faze him.”
“To be fair, you’re always bothered by something,” Hyde quipped. “It was something new every day. I stopped keeping up after a while.”
“I am not!” she argued and turned to Markus who gave her a look. “Okay, maybe I was, but I’ve changed! The other day, I walked by a shoe sale and wasn’t upset that they didn’t have this beautiful shoe in my size. See? Growth.”
“Sure,” Hyde mindlessly and turned back to his wife. “C’mon, what’s wrong?”
“I’d rather not talk about it in front of our friends,” she responded.
“So, you guys can make out in front of us, even get caught doing it, but expressing why you’re upset is where you draw the line?” Donna pointed out.
“Yeah, spill it!” Fez demanded.
Y/n paused before sighing through her nose. “I don’t think you should go.”
“What?!” Eric shouted.
“Why?!” Hyde asked, appalled. “Why don’t you want me to go?”
“Well, I could go into labor any day now and I’d hate for you to miss the birth of your children for a concert,” she explained calmly.
“Y/n, your due date is on Monday. The kids will be here a full five days before the concert. I think it’ll be okay.”
“What if they’re not here by then? They can be late, you know,” Y/n pointed out.
“Come on, don’t do this,” Hyde said. “Don’t make me choose.”
“I shouldn’t have to make you!” she burst out. “You should know what comes first! Not some stupid concert!”
That made the group audibly gasp.
“What?! What I say?!” she asked them.
“You take that back!” Eric said, his voice wobbly.
“Blasphemous!” Kelso shouted.
“How dare you?” Fez asked under his breath.
“Oh, come on you guys, you can’t be serious,” she said. “Are you telling me my giving birth isn’t as important as some band?”
Everyone was quiet for a minute, filling Y/n with rage.
“It’s Led Zepplin,” Fez said quietly.
“Seriously?!” Y/n screeched and stood up. “You’re all going to leave me here all alone?!”
“I’m not going to the concert,” Markus piped up. “I’ll be here for you.”
She turned to everyone else. “Thank you, Markus. Maybe if I have boys I can name one of them after you!”
This made Jackie gasp. “How dare you?! I thought we agreed on Jack or Jackie!”
“I agreed to nothing!” Y/n argued. “You just assume because you think everyone caters to you, but you can’t be bothered to return the favor! The person who helps me deserves the credit.”
“What--?! That is not true!” Jackie shouted.
Everyone around her scoffed.
“C’mon, Jackie,” Donna said, side-eyeing her.
Jackie spun around to her boyfriend. “Markus! Aren’t you going to say something?”
He shrugged. “Sorry, babe, I have to agree with Y/n on this one.”
“Oh, you are in so much trouble!” she screeched.
Y/n clapped her hands and stomped her foot, gaining their attention. “Guys! Really? I thought that after we’ve all been through, you would want to be there for the birth of your nieces or nephews.” She turned to Hyde. “Or your children.” When no one responded, Y/n scoffed, hurt. “You know, what? I don’t care what you guys do. Go to the concert. Have fun.”
She didn’t let them get another single word out before she quietly walked upstairs to her room.
Once the door slammed, Donna turned to the group. “You guys, I feel really bad.”
“Yeah…I’d be pissed too if I couldn’t go to the concert,” Kelso said casually, opening a popsicle.
“No, you moron! That’s not why she’s upset!” Hyde said, irritated.
“Well, what does she expect us to do?” Eric asked. “Those tickets were a lot and it’s not our fault that the concert falls around the same time of her due date.” When he caught Donna glaring at him, he shrugged his shoulders. “What?!”
“You’re an ass,” Donna said. “I don’t think I want to go anymore.”
“Oh, come on! You have to go,” her boyfriend said. “She may not even have the kids on the day of the concert. It would be such a waste if we didn’t go.”
“Wow, Eric,” Donna said bitterly. “You’re being incredibly insensitive.”
“Okay, let’s say the babies come before the concert. No harm, no foul, amiright?” Eric asked.
“That’s if Hyde wants to go,” Markus responded. “When my sister and her husband had my niece, they were up pretty much three days straight and the last thing they wanted to do was go to a noisy concert.”
“Well, I think she’s being a little dramatic and honestly—quite selfish,” Kelso said. Everyone turned to look at him, finding himself cringing when Hyde gave him a death glare. “What?! She is!”
“She has a point, Michael!” Jackie defended. “No matter how mean and unfair she was to me.”
“You’re telling me that we might miss her birth is an overreaction?” Donna questioned him.
Kelso nodded and shrugged. “Well…yeah!”
“Unbelievable,” Donna said curtly as Hyde slugged Kelso in the arm.
“Ow, Hyde! What the hell?!”
“Keep talking crap about my wife Kelso and you’re going home with more than a bruised arm,” he threatened.
“Damn, sorry I said anything,” Kelso whined while rubbing his sore shoulder.
“You should be,” Hyde said and made his way towards the stairs. “I’m going to go talk to her.”
He took two steps at a time as he followed his bride.
Tumblr media
Y/n laid there in bed, glaring at the ceiling. Scenarios of possibilities wouldn’t stop dancing in her head about the day she would give birth while her supposed loving husband was at a concert.
She felt a very wet sensation run down her leg. As she looked down, she noticed that her water had broken, and it wasn’t long until the pain of contractions came along.
“Steven!” she cried out in pain. “Steven, the babies are coming!”
“Oh, really?” he asked, barley looking up from putting his jacket on. “This is inconvenient. Can you wait until I get back from the concert?”
“What?!”
“Look, the babies are important, but…Led Zepplin,” he replied, stepping backwards towards the door. “Just hold those kids in for me! Love you, bye!”
Y/n sneered at the thought, but her mind continued to race.
Smoke, heavy bass, and body sweat filled the air as the group, minus Y/n, head banged their way through each song of Led Zepplin.
“Hey, Hyde, isn’t Y/n giving birth right now?” Donna shouted through the noise, wide smile on her face.
“Yeah, but this is more important!” he shouted back.
“Yeah, to hell with her!” Eric shouted. “Led Zepplin is way more important!”
“Yeah, she’ll be fine,” Steven said. “We can always have more kids that I’ll probably end up being there for the birth!”
Tears started to well in her eyes. “Jerks.”
A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
“Y/n?” Steven asked as he poked his head through their shared bedroom door.
She quickly grabbed for her pregnancy book on the nightstand and pretended to be reading.
“Doll, can we talk?”
“About what?” she mumbled.
“You know what.”
“I think you made up your mind, so there’s no point,” she said, staring at the page.
“No, no that’s why I wanted to come up here,” he replied. “Look, I’m sorry, okay?”
“Don’t be.”
“Y/n, can you please look at me?” he asked her and took the book from her, only to see tear streaks down her face. “Awe, Doll…”
She couldn’t stifle her sobs anymore as she broke down. “You love Led Zepplin more than me!” She shoved her face into a pillow.
He didn’t know if he should laugh or groan. “Y/n, come on, you know that’s not true.”
“No, it is!” she continued to wail. “I’m going to go into labor and you’re not going to care!”
He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, counting to ten. “You know that’s not true.”
“You won’t even help me go into labor!” she whined.
“I’m not going to sleep with you just so you can go into labor,” he deadpanned.
Y/n sat up and wiped at her face. “C’mon, Steven, I’m miserable here! The babies will be fine. It’s doctor recommended!”
“We haven’t even tried the others yet,” he said calmly.
Her face contorted again, fat tears rolling down her face. “You don’t find me attractive anymore!”
“I never said that!” Steven couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Then why won’t you make love to me?!”
“First, don’t say it like that ever again. And second: it has nothing to do with my finding you attractive.”
“Then what is it?” she wept.
“It’s…it’s nothing.”
This made her stop crying immediately and glare at him instead. He almost missed her crying. “What a load of crap!”
“C’mon, Y/n, don’t make me say it.”
“No, you’re gonna!” she demanded. “I want to know why you won’t have sex with your wife to help her go into labor!”
Steven tilted his head back at and stared at the ceiling. Closing his eyes, he groaned before looking back at her. “It’s weird, okay? I’m going to be doing you knowing that the babies are…right there. Knowing what’s going on.”
Y/n scrunched her eyebrows at him. “The babies are in my uterus, not in my, you know, hoo-ha.”
Steven found himself chucking at her euphonism. “What if I hurt them?”
“Like I just said, they’re farther up there than you can reach.”
“Ouch.”
She laughed and placed her hand on his arm. “Trust me, that’s something to be proud of.”
He laughed with her and kissed her.
“Let’s make a deal,” she said, catching his attention. “If I go into labor before the concert, by all means, go. But if I don’t by Friday—you don’t. What do you think?”
He tilted his head to the side, thinking before nodding. “Okay, let’s do it.”
“Okay, good,” she smiled at him as he leaned down to kiss her.
“How bout we try now?”
“Now you want to? Because of a concert?!”
“No, more so now I know I won’t hurt them or make it as weird.”
Y/n rolled her eyes. “You’re lucky I love you.”
He laid her down onto her back, hovering above her and gently smiled. “That I am.”
                                             That Following Monday…
“That’s right, still no babies!” Y/n announced as she and Steven walked into the kitchen after their doctor appointment. Everyone sat in the kitchen, hanging out and snacking. Kitty, Donna, and Jackie sat at the table while Eric, Fez, and Kelso sat at the counter munching on some pop-tarts. “Today’s my due date and I am nowhere near in labor! Gah! This sucks!”
She plopped down at the table, causing it to shift.
“Oh, honey, I know how you feel,” Kitty comforted. “When I was pregnant with Laurie, I wanted her out so bad I almost reached a hand up there and yanked her out myself!”
“That’s a great story, Mom. Can you tell that to me while you’re getting me some iced tea?” Y/n snapped.
Kitty glared at her daughter as she reluctantly got up and grabbed for the pitcher in the fridge.
“Damn, pregnancy doesn’t agree with you,” Jackie said. “The bitch hormone is being released.”
“You try carrying twins who won’t stop kicking me—and each other!” she responded as the glass was placed in front of her. “Thanks, Mom.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever,” Kitty grumbled as she sat back down.
“Seriously, I’ll wake up in the middle of the night to one or both of the babies moving and kicking me. Have you ever had feet stuck in your ribcage? It’s a rude awakening. Literally.”
“Yeah, I feel your pain,” Hyde said. “Whenever you’re up, I’m up.”
“Oh, shove it!” Y/n spit. “You sleep like a damn log every night! You can be getting attacked while you’re dead asleep and barley stir!”
“No, I hear you. I just choose to stay still.”
“So, while I’m over here in uncomfortable, you’re snuggling your pillow just to avoid me?!”
Fez, Kelso, and Eric shifted their gazes to Hyde with amused smirks on their faces.
“You cuddle your pillow, Hyde?” Eric taunted.
“Shut up, Forman or I will suffocate you with said pillow.”
“But if you do, you won’t have a pillow to cuddle at night,” Fez continued.
“Shut up, Fez!”
“Y/n, have you tried any of the doctor’s suggestions?” Kitty asked.
“Yeah! Steven and I have done it like a dozen times since then,” she answered.
Kitty closed her eyes and rubbed her head. “Honey…have you tried anything else besides that?”
“No, not yet.”
“Well, why don’t you start with food? Let’s go out tonight.”
Y/n shrugged. “Yeah, let’s try that.”
“And the weather is supposed to be cooler tonight, we can go on that long walk,” Hyde said.
She sighed and rubbed her aching neck. “Yeah, that works.”
“There’s a good Indian restaurant that serves the spiciest curry downtown,” Kitty said. “Let’s go there.”
“Uh, do I have to go?” Eric piped up. “Last time I had anything spicy, I sat on the toilet for three days.”
“Ew,” Hyde said and turned to his wife. “Look, I’m going to go look for those specific teas the doc told me about. Do you want anything else?”
“Yeah, just about everything on that list,” she responded. “Get the castor oil, some hot peppers, pineapples—”
“Should I just get the whole store?” Hyde asked.
“Yes please.”
Hyde nodded and kissed her head. “I’ll be back.”
As soon as he walked out the door, Y/n stood. “Well, I’ve got to pee again. I swear these damn kids think that my bladder is a squeeze toy.”
“She’s got to have those kids any day now,” Donna said once Y/n had waddled out the kitchen.
“Yeah, it’s not like they’re trying,” said Kelso. “Hyde told me yesterday that she promised him that if she can give birth before Friday then he can go to the concert. Man, that must suck. Having an ol’ ball and chain telling you what to do.”
“Well, you’d never know since you’re too busy cheating on every girl you’ve ever dated,” Jackie snarked.
“Well, what do you say we make this interesting?” Kelso asked, ignoring Jackie’s comment.
“What do you mean?” Eric asked, tossing a Styrofoam football in the air.
“I’ll bet you ten bucks she has the babies tomorrow,” he responded with a wide smirk.
“You’re on!” Jackie said excitedly and reached for her purse.
“Guys, I don’t feel right about this,” Donna said. “It’s not cool to bet on when our friend will go into labor.”
“Ugh, Donna,” Y/n called as she waddled down the stairs. “That candle you gave me smells horrible. Next time, maybe try getting me a candle that doesn’t smell like nature took a dump and forgot to flush.”
“It’s the smell of a forest!” she defended.
“Have you ever been to the forest?” Y/n said. “It doesn’t smell like that.”
Before she could let Donna respond, she waddled back upstairs. Once the door closed, Donna turned back to the group, annoyance written all over her face. “Make it twenty.”
                                                   --Later—
“Guys, I got some great news from the guidance counselor!” Eric announced as he ran into the living room where his family and Donna were sitting, watching TV.
“Yeah? What is it?” Red asked, turning down the volume on the TV.
“There's this program where you go and teach in an impoverished area for a year, and then they pay for your college. So, I signed up.”
“Eric, that’s wonderful!” Kitty cheered.
“That’s awesome!” Y/n joined in.
“See? I knew spending your college money would work out for the best,” Red said, smugly. “You're welcome.”
“So, where’s this impoverished place that you’re going to?” Steven asked.
“Is it east Milwaukee? You know I made a wrong turn there once and I ended up in this awful neighborhood,” Kitty said and lowered her voice as if anyone outside the living room could hear her. “They were playing radios on street corners!”
Eric shook his head. “No, I’m not going to east Milwaukee.”
“So, where then?” Donna asked.
Eric laid his hands out, palms up in excitement. “Its Africa.”
“Africa?!” Everyone said in shock.
“Africa, Wisconsin?” Kitty asked hopefully.
“No, Kitty, the country,” Red answered.
“You’re going to teach in Africa?” Y/n asked, her heart breaking. “So, does that mean you’re not going to be here when the babies are born?”
“No, no, I’ll still be here,” Eric said. “I’ll be leaving in August.”
“Oh,” she responded. “H-how long will you be gone?”
“About a year.”
“A YEAR?!” All three women shouted.
“What’s the big deal?” Eric asked, eyebrows knitting in confusion.
“The big deal is you made this big decision without coming to me at all!” Donna shouted and stood from the couch and stormed out.
“See? Donna understands,” Kitty said while Eric sighed in defeat.
This isn’t how he was planning this go at all.
                                         --Later that evening--
“Joey?” Y/n asked her husband as they sat at the kitchen table, eating dinner.
Hyde shook his head. “Have a cousin named Joey. Last I heard he was being treated for VD and on his way to a halfway house.”
“Oookay,” Y/n said, going down the list of names in her book. “Victoria?”
“No.”
“Why not?!”
“Because my mom had a best friend named Victoria.” He paused to take a bite of his spicy food before going into deep thought. “Pretty sure at one point she was more than that.”
Y/n gave him a blank stared smile. “I’ll never be able to erase that image out of my mind.”
“How bout Jimmy?”
Y/n put down the book. “Why Jimmy?”
He shrugged and wiped his mouth with his napkin. “I’ve just always liked that name.”
She squinted her eyes at him. “Since when?”
“I don’t know, a few years maybe.”
“Or maybe because it’s the name of the guitarist in Led Zepplin?”
Hyde pretended to be shocked. “Is that where that’s from? Wow, what are the odds?”
Y/n rolled her eyes at him. “Keep thinking, genius.”
“Eleanor?” he suggested.
“I’m sorry, am I giving birth to a seventy-five-year-old?”
“What’s wrong with Eleanor?”
“I feel like I’d be giving birth to a Roosevelt. No, thank you.”
“We can call her Ellie for short,” he argued.
“Ellie Hyde?” she questioned.
“Let’s keep brainstorming,” he agreed and looked at her plate which she barely touched. “Why aren’t you eating your spicy curry? I added extra peppers for you.”
Y/n let out a sigh and put down her book. “It’s not working. Nothing is going to get these kids out.”
“You’ve barley taken a bite out of your food. Maybe if you eat half of it, you’ll actually go into labor.”
“If I eat anymore, I’ll be breathing out fire,” she deadpanned.
“Come on, it’s good. Try it,” he encouraged before taking a bite of her curry. It didn’t take long for the spices to set his mouth aflame. He started panting like a dog before desperately grabbing her glass of water and downing it like a man who hasn’t had water in days.
“Oh, my God,” he panted once the water was down. “How are you eating this?”
Y/n gave him an amused smile. “I’m about to push two human beings out of me, I think a hot mouth is the least of my worries.”
“Speaking of hot mouth, why don’t you and I go upstairs and try to get these babies here?” Hyde suggested, wiggling his eyebrows.
“C’mon, we’ve done it like a hundred times; clearly the babies aren’t coming,” she replied, defeated.
“You don’t know that,” he replied gently.
Y/n shook her head, defeated. “I guess these babies will come when they decide to.”
Steven looked at her before standing to his feet. “Come on. We’re going for a walk.”
                                            45 Minutes Later...
“I told you the walk wouldn’t work!” Y/n complained as they walked through the sliding door, picking out leaves and twigs from her hair.
“Well, it would’ve if you hadn’t tried to jump on me in the park!” Hyde argued as he looked down at the mud stains on his pants and shirt.
“I was trying to be romantic!”
“You’re trying to get these kids out of you so fast, you’re willing to knock us both over in a big puddle just for a quickie behind a bush!”
“How the hell was I supposed to know there was a deep mud puddle there?!” she yelled, prying her wet and muddy dress away from her thighs.
“Gee, I don’t know, maybe the fact that it RAINED earlier?” he yelled back.
“Ugh, you know what, I’m going to go shower. Don’t follow me!”
“What is going on?” Eric asked as he entered the kitchen with Donna. He took one look at the couple and started laughing. “What happened to you two?”
“Y/n thought it would be the perfect time to get romantic on a walk in the park to try to go into labor,” Steven replied, glaring at his wife who wasn’t even looking at him.
Eric scrunched up his nose at them. “Sorry I asked.”
“I’m going to go shower because the mud is started seal my butt cheeks together,” Y/n announced before waddling out the kitchen.
“Didn’t need to know that!” Eric cried out and turned back to Hyde. “So, are you guys going to keep trying?”
Hyde sighed frustratingly. “At this point, I don’t know. We’ve tried spicy foods, canola oil, sex…nothing is working. The long walk may have worked if she hadn’t cut it short.”
“Well, you know, maybe the babies will come tomorrow…or in a couple days…” Donna suggested and nonchalantly grabbed a soda from the fridge.
“I don’t know. I’m starting to think these kids are going to come closer to the concert and I just got to accept the fact that I’m not going to be able to make it.”
“What?! No, Hyde don’t say that,” Eric said. “You’re going to be able to have those babies and still go to the concert.”
“You know, Hyde, maybe you’re not doing this right,” Donna said and sat at the table. “Maybe, the babies will come tomorrow or Wednesday…”
Hyde squinted his eyes at her. “Why? Why tomorrow or Wednesday?”
She shook her head. “No reason!”
Hyde rolled his eyes. “Fine, whatever. I’m going to shower as well. We’ll try again tomorrow.”
Once he was out of earshot, Eric turned to Donna.
“Way to almost blow our cover!”
                                                         ---
Tuesday came and go with Y/n getting more miserable by the minute.
“It’s Tuesday night, she can still have the baby tonight!” Jackie argued.
“You had until 8pm. You can’t bend the rules now. Now pay up!” Donna chortled and held out her hand.
“Fine!” Jackie screeched and reached into her purse. “Here’s your stupid twenty bucks!”
“Thank you,” Donna said smugly and fanned her face with the two tens.
“Okay, double or nothing she has them by tomorrow,” Jackie said.
“I bet she’ll have them by Thursday,” Kelso said.
“I bet you’re all wrong,” Eric said. “I want to say she’ll have them by Sunday.”
“And I bet she’s losing six friends,” Markus piped up, disgusted at their behavior.
“Five,” Eric corrected. “She can’t lose me. I’m her brother after all.”
“I don’t think that’s going to make a difference,” Markus said.
“Markus, baby, shush,” Jackie said, tapping his leg. “We’re just having a little fun.”
“Fun?” he questioned. “You’re betting on your friend’s pain and misery! I don’t think she would classify this as fun.”
“She would if it was any one of us,” Eric pointed out.
“Only with you,” Donna chuckled. “She’s fine with the rest of us.” She looked up to Kelso who was mindlessly sucking on a popsicle. “Well, maybe Kelso too.”
He looked down at her, frowning, pausing with the popsicle still in his mouth. “Why me?”
“Because it’s so easy,” Fez added in, laughing. “Like you.”
                                                        ---
“That’s it, I give up!” Y/n said, exasperated three days later as she and her husband sat in the basement. “I’m done trying to get these kids to come out. They’ll come when they come.”
“No, don’t give up yet,” Eric said, faux-sympathetic.
“You just want them to be born so you can go to the concert,” she grumbled.
Eric’s gaze flicked to the rest of the group; Hyde staring at him suspiciously.
“Y-you can keep trying…even if it takes you to Sunday,” he said.
“Or Monday!” Jackie piped up. “I think you’ll go into labor then.”
“Nah, I’m saying Tuesday,” Fez said.
Y/n squinted her eyes at her friends. “Okay, what’s going on?”
“Nothing,” Fez squeaked.
“Uh huh, and I’m calling bologna,” she said, eyes never leaving Fez’s nervous ones.
“Nothing you’ll be interested in,” Jackie said.
“Yeah? Try me.”
Everyone was silent, not daring to speak up, until—
“We’ve all been making a bet to see when you’ll go into labor!” Fez blurted out.
“FEZ!” Everyone shouted.
“What the hell?!” Eric shouted.
“Unbelievable!” Donna cried out.
“Big mouth!” Jackie chimed in.
“Traitor!” Kelso added.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t lie to her!” Fez said.
“But you can bet money on me?!” Y/n shouted. “I can’t believe you guys!”
“Yeah! How could you do this and not let me in on it?!” Hyde shouted.
Y/n snapped her head to him. “WHAT?!”
“C’mon, we’re both so miserable here, at least let’s make some money out of it,” he defended.
“Oh, yeah I’m sure all that sex has helped ease the pain,” Fez grumbled bitterly.
“Shut up, Fez,” Hyde demanded, making Fez pout and turn away.
“You know the worst part is you guys didn’t include me on this,” Y/n continued.
“What?” the group asked in unison.
“Well, like Steven said, if I’m going to be miserable, I might as well make some money!”
“Hey, you’re cooler about this than I thought you would,” Markus said.
“If I wasn’t pregnant and desperate to get these kids out, I wouldn’t be,” she said. “Now, tell me, how high is the bet?”
“Forty,” he responded casually.
“Forty?!” Y/n screeched. “C’mon I’m worth more than that!”
“It’s all I’ve got in my purse,” Jackie responded bitterly. “Unless you have more money.”
“I know Hyde does,” Kelso smirked.
Hyde glared at him. “Drop it before I drop you.”
                                          The Next Day…
“C’mon, babies, just stay in there until after tonight,” Eric encouraged, talking to his sister’s belly.
“You know that’s not how that works,” she responded, laughing at him.
“They can still hear right? Maybe they will listen.”
“Yeah, in your dreams, Forman,” Hyde said as he sat next to his wife on the couch.
“Come on, babies, if you wait to come out and let Daddy go to the concert with Uncle Eric, I promise I’ll give you whatever you want.”
Y/n couldn’t help but chuckle. “I don’t think they’re coming out anytime soon. You guys can go to the concert tonight, it’s fine.”
“YES!” Eric cheered.
“You sure?” Hyde asked genuinely and turned to her. “What if you go into labor while I’m gone?”
“I still have my parents here and Markus said he’ll be a phone call away if I need him,” she reassured him.
Hyde made a face at her. “I don’t know how I feel about this new guy helping you.”
“Would you rather it be Fez or Kelso?”
He smacked his lips in thought. “Good point.”
“Besides, I think it’ll be nice to just be me tonight,” she continued. “I can finally start that book I’ve wanting to read.”
“Vogue Magazine isn’t a book,” Eric reminded.
“Neither are comics,” she snapped back.
“Then why are they called comic books?” he shot back.
Y/n sighed. “Either way, I’m looking forward to finally getting some alone time.”
“As long you’re okay with it. And I won’t be out long,” Hyde promised.
“Okay,” Y/n said, smiling at him and kissed him. “I’m going to go take a nap. Wake me up before you leave.”
Hyde nodded as he helped her off the couch. Just as she did, she clutched her stomach, hissing sharply.
“Oh!” she yelped, bending over.
“Oh, my God! Y/n!” Hyde reacted quickly, reaching for her so she didn’t stumble forward.
“Y/n, are you okay?!” Eric asked her with wide eyes.
“Yeah, just kidding,” she giggled and walked upstairs.
The two young men let out a breath of relief and glared at her as she walked up the stairs.
“Sometimes, I really, really don’t like her,” Eric griped.
                                             --Time Skip—
“Y/n, I’m leaving!” Steven said as he gathered his wallet, keys, and tickets together.
“I’m coming,” she called out as she waddled down the stairs.
He met her at the bottom of the stairs and placed his hands on her hips, leaning down to kiss her. “You sure you’re okay with this?”
“More than,” she said, grinning. “You go and have a great time, okay?”
“I will. I left the number for you on the counter to the venue in case anything happens.”
“Look at you, being all worried and responsible,” she teased.
He chuckled and kissed her gently. “I love you. I’m serious—call.”
“I will,” she said and hugged him. “I love you. Have fun.”
“Will you stop making out with my sister and get in the car?” Eric asked impatiently. “Led Zepplin isn’t going to wait for us.”
“Shut up, Forman,” Hyde said and turned to Y/n once more. “Try to not have those babies until I get back.”
“I will definitely try,” she replied sweetly before giving him one more kiss. “Now, go. Enjoy the concert. Oh! Wait there for a moment.” She ran back to the kitchen before returning to the front door with a camera in her hand. “Take some pictures for me.”
Hyde held the large polaroid camera in his hand and looked at his wife. “You want me to take pictures the whole time?”
She nodded innocently. “Yeah!”
“No,” he deadpanned and set the camera on the couch.
“What? Why?!”
“I’m going to be busy rocking and rolling, not taking pictures of the band.”
“Steven, please! Just because I can’t be there doesn’t mean I don’t want pictures!”
“Yeah, that’s a lot of pictures that I don’t want to take and have to keep track of. No, thanks.”
“Why’re you being so stubborn?”
“Hey, if you wanted to see Led Zepplin, you should be going,” Eric piped up from behind them.
“You literally bought tickets for everyone but me,” she snipped.
“Correction: I bought them for me, you, Hyde, and Donna. Kelso bought tickets for him and Hyde,”
“But…Jackie’s not going, what're you doing with that extra ticket?” Y/n inquired.
“Yeah…he thought he was going to be able to score with her, but then she met Markus and quite frankly, I think Kelso is afraid of him. So, he’s bringing Fez,” Eric answered.
“I’m not even going to question that,” she said and turned back to her husband. “You be careful and have fun. But not too much fun!”
“Alright, cool, let’s go!” Eric pushed and shoved Hyde out the door.
“What the hell, man?” Hyde asked outside the door.
“We still have to pick up Kelso and Fez and I’d rather not be later because you couldn’t stop being mushy with my sister,” Eric responded and closed the door before Y/n could hear what Hyde had to say.
Y/n looked down to her stomach and held it between her hands. “Well, guys, it looks like it’s just us. What do you guys want to do? We can watch TV, read a book…eat a tub of ice cream?” A kick to the stomach confirmed her question. “Ice cream it is!”
                                         Later that night…
Y/n sat on the couch in the living room watching a rerun of Three’s Company when the doorbell rang. When she answered the door, Jackie and Markus stood there.
“What’re you guys doing here?” Y/n asked them.
“Well, we know you’re by yourself tonight so we figured you’d like some company,” Markus said with a bright smile and held up a Fatso Burger bag. “We also brought food.”
“Well, I wouldn’t put it that nicely, but yeah same,” Jackie said and welcomed herself in.
“Oh, uh, well thanks,” Y/n said and closed the door. “You guys don’t have to be here. My parents are home and if anything happens, they’ll be here.”
“Nonsense. We’re your friends,” Markus said and sat down on the couch. “Besides, we figured you were hungry.”
“Always,” Y/n said and waddled over to the couch. “This was really nice of you. Thank you.”
“Not a problem,” Markus said, smiling and handing her a wrapped burger. “What’re we watching?”
“Three’s Company. It’s the one where Chrissy takes a freelance job as an X-rated writer for a fictional diary,” Y/n responded, watching the screen.
“Oh, that’s a good one,” Jackie said, digging into her fries.
After they had finished their meals and the episode ended, another one was starting soon as they all had settled back into the couch.
“No, no, no that’s ridiculous,” Markus argued. “Why would Doc Ock be Spider-Man’s greatest enemy? It’s always been Green Goblin!”
“The Green Goblin is Peter’s most famous enemy, but it makes sense that his greatest enemy is Doc Ock because think about it: Your mentor and friend turning bad? Can you imagine the betrayal?” Y/n countered.
“But Green Goblin was his best friend’s dad! That also has to mean something! Then, once his dad died, his best friend became the Green Goblin!”
“Yeah, that would mean something if Harry hadn’t tried to kill Peter first!”
“To be fair, Harry didn’t know about Spider-Man’s identity until later.”
“And to be fair, this conversation is killing me,” Jackie piped up, bored.
“Yeah, but—” Y/n was cut off by an abrupt sharp pain down in her lower abdomen. Her hands flew to her stomach and held her breath as the pain radiated and quickly subsided. She let out a sigh of relief.
Markus and Jackie sat up straight as Markus’s hands hovered over Y/n. “A-are you okay?”
“Yeah,” Y/n responded, breathlessly. “That was weird. Anyway, as I was saying—OH!”
Another sharp pain reared its ugly head, radiating through her pelvis to her back and down her legs. “Oh, my God!” Her grip on the couch tightened, knuckles turning white. She could feel her abdomen tighten rock-hard as she felt the pain become more intense.
“Y/n, whats wrong?” Jackie asked.
Y/n couldn’t respond and could only whimper.
“Oh, my God,” Markus said, panicking and jumped from the couch. “Oh, my God! Not now!”
All Y/n could do was shake her head as the pain was starting to subside to the point where she could get some words out. “No, no, it can’t be. It can take a while for the babies to get here. It could just be the beginning stages.”
“The beginning stages of what?” Jackie asked.
Markus looked at her with a panicked and wild look in his eyes. “Are you serious?!”
“What?!” she asked, matching his energy.
“She’s in labor, Jackie!”
“Oh,” Jackie said calmly, but then it hit her. “OH!”
“We need to get you to the hospital,” Markus said, rushing to get her up from the couch.
“That’s not necessary,” Y/n said, another sharp pressure coming on as she stood. “The book said contractions need to be five to ten minutes apart before going to the hospital. Labor can take a while.”
Markus sighed a small breath of relief before looking down and his eyes widening. “And what does the book say about that?”
Y/n looked down on the floor at her feet as she felt some wetness.
                                          Her water had broke.

I just caught up with doctor who and I’m really curious what you think about the episodes? Specifically 73 yards, dot and bubble, and rogue were my personal favourites so I’d love to hear your thoughts on them or the others
ooooh ok yes here we go
space babies - i loved it. ok? i get that a lot of people didnt like the cgi baby mouths. but i think it had such series 1 vibes (i.e. ninth doctor). it took me right back to my childhood. loved it tbh
the devils chord - :/ yeah. maestro was the onky redeeming factor of this episode tbh. it was supposed to be about the beatles but like. nothing about the episodes plot felt specifically beatles-relevant? like. you could have had the exact same plot with any 60s/70s band and it would have worked out the same way. i think if you're gonna do an episode surrounding a specific historical figure, the plot has to Only make sense for that historical figure. otherwise whats the point
boom - ugh. yes. 10/10. loved ncutis acting in this one. HE WAS LITERALLY STUCK ON ONE SPOT THE WHOLE TIME. COULD BARELY MOVE. AND HE STILL GAVE A HELL OF A PERFORMANCE. i was so impressed tbh. i love bottle episodes. the side characters were a little lackluster tbh tho. my only qualm with it really
73 yards - ANOTHER BANGER. i love love love when they get a bit horror with it. i loved that we got to focus on ruby and get to know her and her character a lot better. i very nearly cried when she was sitting outside her mums door on the phone. loved the mystery and the lack of a coherant solution, really added to the spookiness and fae vibes of it all.
dot and bubble - ok. im gonna be honest. this episode was boring to me. nothing really happened for the first 30 minutes. lindy was annoying as fuck. and i know that was supposed to be the point but like. if you're gonna do a doctor-lite-ish episode you've gotta make the focal character interesting. give me sally sparrow any day. i get what they were going for, i see the vision, i just think it could have been executed a bit better
rogue - yessssss!!! yesssssss!!!! loved the gay of it all, obviously, but i feel like that has kinda. taken over literally everything else about the episode??? i love the idea of larping aliens thats so silly and fun. i loved the fight mode scene with ruby holding her own. i loved the bridgerton-esque drama and ruby trying to comfort emily. i loved seeing ncuti get his "fury of the timelord" moment when he thought ruby was dead. the doctors dark side is so important!!! hes not all sunshine and rainbows!!! family of blood anyone!!!!
legend of ruby sunday - hm. the pacing was a little off. i felt like a lot of the time i was like. ok can we get to the point now. they mentioned the anagram thing So Many Times. and probability of trap. like ok girl we get it!!!! but. im very excited about sutekh!! he seems like a fun villain and very high stakes. and im so intruiged and compelled by rubys story. i Need to know who she is and who her mum is so so bad.
ANYWAY SORRY FOR RAMBLING BUT. YOU ASKED LMAO. AUTISM MOMENT
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR ASKING BTW ILY!!!!

#tristampparty day 1, episode 1: noman's land
normally i draw stuff for fandom events... but i don't really feel like it so instead i'm going to rewatch tristamp for @tristampparty :D it's been a few months since my last rewatch, so i'm excited~ (this will be my fourth time watching it...) subs this time, since i've watched the dub the last 2 times i watched. AND also my first time watching it start to finish after completing the manga. i've been wanting to do this for a while so now's as good a time as any!
i don't know how much i'll have in the way of coherent thoughts or analysis so i guess i'll just... do it like i did my bookclub posts? and write my random thoughts/observations as i go :'3 if i'm lucky it will turn into coherency and analysis LOL
okay episode 1 let's gooooo
Tumblr media
i don't think this was shown in the manga so this caught my eye immediately - that there are robots helping maintain the people in cryosleep. the fact that there were only five other crew members besides rem, and that only one person is awake at a time barring emergencies, was brought up and questioned by multiple people in bookclub. maintenance robots make a lot of sense, one person can only do so much, even a small crew wouldn't be enough for such a huge ship.
iirc we don't see the other scientists on the ship at any point in tristamp, so i guess they were all integrated into conrad's character...? which means this rem was more alone than ever. and also had less people to fight against re: the experimentation on tesla...? or... hmmm. one minute into the episode and i'm already saying so much lol help
Tumblr media
nai being cast in shadow... that's cinematography babes!!!! and the two blooming geraniums...
Tumblr media
UGH!!!! this always gets me!!!! the fact that NAI is the one who invites rem onto the escape pod... knives's love for rem compounding his guilt over her death makes me want to eat rocks. i think that combination of love and guilt is definitely present in the original but it's not blatantly shown as it is here. i've said this a lot and i'll keep saying it but one of the things i really like about tristamp is how it puts a microscope over knives's emotions.
Tumblr media
"i thought i'd spare her" he says!!! and with his face covered in shadow... this is from volume 2, so it's in part to keep him ~mysterious~ as the antagonist at this point in the story, but the shadow also serves to show us he's not being fully truthful here. obviously!! but at this point in the manga we don't know much about knives at all, and he's very much framed as sinister and menacing. tristamp does things a bit the other way around, showing us that nai cares about rem and then having him do his evil speech-laugh at vash later in the episode... but we're not up to that just yet. anyway.
we don't really get a clear look at nai's face after the pod launches but because i'm unwell i went frame by frame
Tumblr media
he definitely looks angry here i think, or frustrated... of course he is...
so as vash cries here i can't help but think he's emoting for both himself and his brother. in stamp and in the manga both. like the lyrics of tombi.
...less than 5 minutes and i've already written so much. okay. enough about knives. let's all look at meryl's face.
Tumblr media
>:T
Tumblr media
it's been discussed how tristamp frontloads a lot of information, and this specifically has been pointed out already, but the reveal of the planet's name being NML doesn't happen until... the penultimate chapter of the manga. not like keeping the planet's name a secret really matters in the grand scheme of things, but in the manga the reveal was an emotional beat following the final battle, reinforcing the resilience of the people living there. here it's framed the opposite, almost - as the fact that this place SUCKS. also roberto is purposefully talking down to meryl in this scene but it still comes across as a bit clumsy in that it's obviously exposition for the sake of the audience.
i think this rewatch i want to pay more attention to roberto. i just kind of forget he exists most of the time since he's not in the manga, and not someone i ever really got attached to seeing as how he's clearly telegraphed as the Dead Mentor character, there to push meryl's character to the point where she needs to be by the end of the season. i wasn't around to see this happen but when tristamp started airing i'm pretty sure he got shit on a lot for Not Being Milly. but i do think he fulfills milly's role in one specific way; he's a very observant person. i don't know if i want to dive deep into a roberto-milly comparison though... i kinda feel like that would do a disservice to him lol. but i like the contrast of what kind of relationship each of them has with meryl.
Tumblr media
the biggest wettest eyes you've ever seen
i just like the level of detail here with meryl and roberto being reflected in vash's glasses. very neat!
Tumblr media
*squints* i just wanted to post BDN's wanted poster to lament the fact that he doesn't actually appear in tristamp, and perhaps laugh at nightow's poster again, but the guy on the left... that's the guy from 98 episode 1, right? and i think the guy in the middle is the guy who lina kicked in the face. there's a poster for the nebraska daughter later in the scene, too. the attention to detail is insane, man.
Tumblr media
oh. he's referring to knives here. i think.
see, here's the thing. i only just now realized that he might be referring to knives because the subs i was watching previously (the ones uploaded to aniwave) translate this line differently. it's a lot more vague, about how things will just get worse if they don't do something. the dub line is similarly vague. this line is a lot more clear. but i don't know, man. the reason why i've mostly stuck to the dub is because i could tell the subs on aniwave were of dubious quality, but my japanese isn't good enough to tell which subs are the ""most"" correct, this included. it makes a lot of sense that he's referring to knives here, so that's the interpretation i think i'll stick with. and at least these subs are like... better grammar-wise than the ones on aniwave, lol.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thinking About This Again. okay i don't remember where this was confirmed by staff or if it was just a theory but this was a bounty put out by knives, right? as "this is what humans think of you, as an object you can put a price on, not as a person." it's all been said already by people who aren't me. but i'm just thinking about knives's hypocrisy again. he doesn't exactly view vash as a person either.
...as i watch this i'm realizing i have a lot less to say about the second half of the episode than the first half.
i've seen people say that vash not having any bullets for the duel was on purpose. and that's probably true. i've also seen people say that running around screaming and crying was on purpose, like, it was part of his act. i... don't know about that. he does scream and cry and throw up to present himself as a harmless idiot, but contrast that with the bullet dodging and the disarming of the cluster bomb... he's kinda... showing his hand? especially because he tries to laugh it off as luck immediately after. NONE of that was part of the plan.
Tumblr media
OKAY AM I JUST MAKING THIS UP OR ARE THOSE TEARS IN HIS EYES. THIS ISN'T JUST ME RIGHT. he could just be crying from laughing too hard UNLESS...?! also, why am i reminded of vash saying to rem "when you cry, you look like you're laughing." so the other way around would be...?! we know how much nai is hurting here, how much he didn't want to kill rem... and he's laughing... but with tears in his eyes... is this anything. am i overcooking. it's getting late and my brain isn't working at full capacity anymore.
GOD just. he's so young. in the flashbacks in volume 2, the twins look a bit older, i think, and especially since knives's face is completely blacked out in shadow, it doesn't fully register just how young he was at the time... but man. he was just a kid.
Tumblr media
ugh, and the first thing we see of adult knives is him playing the piano, knives's piano being a cry of loneliness from his heart... as we know... i'm going to combust. and his... piano room(?) is so haunting with the dead plants all around.
here's a detail that i like in tristamp - the worms are ever-present from the beginning. for the first couple of episodes they just seem like window-dressing, simply part of the environment to give the setting more character, nothing more. we don't learn about the worm hivemind or zazie until episode 4. but it's obvious upon revisiting that this is how knives is getting information about vash's location and also where any dying plants are.
which i also want to point out because!!! in this scene knives says, in japanese: 「見つけたか」 which in the subs is translated as, "so you've found him." it's translated similarly in the dub, referring to him, as in vash. but in the subs i initially watched, the line was translated as, "did you find it? [...] i'm taking it back." if you know anything about how japanese grammar works, it's that japanese doesn't have pronouns the same way english does, so exactly what or who knives is referring to when he says 「見つけたか」 is not actually specified. so we have a potential double meaning that gets lost in translation - knives could be talking about both vash and the dying plant.
...and that ends episode 1. i... did not expect to write this much. also post this before the date turns over challenge failed. i'm tired and i need to go to bed lol.
we're just getting started. see you tomorrow.

-bird mom loving her son
-pls let me know if I need to add more
And without further ado, I give you...
Pepper + Hot Sauce = Trouble
“C’mon, P! You gotta do it!” Amet.hyst cheered.
Pe.arl was sitting on the couch and in front of her was a Carolina Reaper dipped in extremely hot hot sauce.
“Can't I do something else?” Pe.arl replied as she looked at the pepper in disgust.
“A deal’s a deal. You lost.”
Pe.arl sighed remembering the bet they’d made. Amet.hyst betted that Pe.arl couldn't go a week without cleaning, and Pe.arl betted that Amet.hyst couldn't go a week without eating.
“It was just a dirty sock!” Pea.rl cried.
“Hey, guys! What's going on?” Ste.ven asked as he walked in the room.
“Pe.arl lost a bet, so Ame.thyst is making her eat a pepper doused in hot sauce,” Gar.net explained.
“Oh, this is gonna be good! I'll go get the milk!” Ste.ven bounced excitedly to the fridge to get the dairy product. “Got it!”
He brought it over to the table and Pe.arl looked at him.
“What's that for?” She asked curiously.
“It helps, trust me.”
“Just eat it already!” Amet.hyst cried out.
Pe.arl gulped. She wasn't prepared for this. She wasn't comfortable with this, it entailed eating for Pete’s sake.
“Here goes,” Pe.arl picked up the saucy pepper, closed her eyes as she trembled a little in fear, and carefully placed it in her mouth.
Amet.hyst, Ste.ven, and Gar.net all watched in pure excitement and curiosity. Pe.arl finally bit off the stem and she started chewing it.
Heat, no, fire. Fire was what she felt on her tongue at the moment. She whimpered and whined as beads of sweat fell down her face.
“So, how is it?” Ste.ven asked, since he was recording and Amet.hyst was trying to stifle laughs.
Pe.arl looked straight into the phone’s camera and squeaked, “It's hot.”
Ste.ven giggled, Gar.net smirked, and Amet.hyst was on the floor laughing wildly.
“Guys, I…I think I'm…melting!” She cried.
“You're not melting,” Gar.net snorted.
“Don't forget to swallow it,” Ame.thyst laughed.
Pe.arl groaned and swallowed the pepper pieces. Her eyes grew in shock and fear. She thought her mouth was hot, but now her throat and insides were hot as well. Her face was flushed a beautiful turquoise and tears were brimming at her eyes.
“This is worse!” Pe.arl cried.
“Drink the milk,” Ste.ven suggested with a smile.
“I'm not drinking out of the-hic!- carton, oh-hiccup!-no.”
Pe.arl covered her mouth in embarrassment as her diaphragm jumped again.
Ame.thyst was gasping for air, Ga.rnet was snickering, and Ste.ven gasped.
“I didn't know Gems could get hiccups,” he said.
“It's extremely rare for Gems to get them,” Ga.rnet explained, “but it can happen, since we have diaphragms…Pe.arl’s usually the one with the hiccups around here.”
“Hey! I-hic!-I haven't had-hiccup!-the hiccups in-huc!-a thousand-hup!-years!” Pe.arl crossed her arms.
“But it's still pretty darn funny when you get them!” Amet.hyst laughed.
“Hmph! Hiccuh! Ugh, why me?” Pe arl groaned.
“I'll be right back,” Ste.ven said and hurried to the kitchen to get a glass.
He came skipping back to the living room. He poured some milk into the glass for her.
“Drink it,” he handed it to her.
“Th-HIC!-ahem! Thank you, Ste.ven. hic!” Pe.arl accepted the glass and drank the cold liquid.
Ste.ven smiled widely as he awaited the aftermath. Pe.arl stopped when the glass was half full. A smile made a way onto her lips.
“Aah, that-hic-helps with the heat,” Pe.arl sighed in relief.
“See? Told you it’d help,” he said proudly.
“Hic! Ugh, but these hiccups-hulp!-may stay for a-hiccup!-while.”
Pe.arl drank the rest of the milk in her glass and Stev.en poured her some more. She smiled at the boy as a thanks for helping her get through this. Soon enough, the heat subsided, the hiccups stayed, and Ste.ven was sitting on her lap hugging her. His head would rise with every loud hiccup Pe.arl would hiccup, but he was fine with it. And soon enough he dozed off to sleep with Pea.rl sitting back comfortably and her arms cuddled around Ste.ven’s body.
“I love you, Pe.arl,” Ste.ven mumbled in his sleep.
She smiled and kissed his forehead. “I love you too-hmc-Ste.ven.”
And the two of them stayed like that for the rest of the afternoon.

let me start by saying I apologize for the novel I’m about to write.
RIDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
OH MY FUCKING GODDDDDDD
this was. hands down. the best chapter so far. and I am NOT just saying that bc IT finally happened, ok?
like… everything about it was so beautiful and I usually hate pregnancy scares/arcs but it didn’t feel out of place or forced at all and oh my GOD jungkook !!! like I cried literally the whole way through from when she went missing until the end of the chapter. I didn’t think it was possible to physically feel how much two fictional characters loves another but you did it, Rid. you have breathed so much life into them that I felt like it was playing out right in front of me.
and even before the angst when it’s just them appreciating being together after the move, it was so wonderful to read. sometimes stories get boring when the drama ebbs but it isn’t like that with them bc their emotions are just beautiful to see play out.
and then… you sly cutie… he finally fucking SAID it. and it was so worth the wait of course, and it just made me cry so hard bc I think we all need to hear that right? that even if we stay broken forever someone will still love us? and more importantly SHE needed to hear that. and she better say it back after that stunt she pulled 👊🏼
also usually I don’t really think of the real life counterpart when reading fanfics, at least not unless it’s meant to be set in our world. but this chapter was so jungkook, wasn’t it?
like… in the bathroom scene, when he’s asking to be let in and telling her he’s gonna stay I started thinking about how that’s what his lives are for us, ya know? at least I know for me when i’m at my lowest and metaphorically locked in a bathroom I get that notification and it’s exactly like him knocking on my door. and even the ily confession just reminded me so much of things he’s actually said about him wanting us to be happy and that he loves us unconditionally. maybe I just miss the real jungkook too much… either way. you’re characterization is magical and I will probably never move on from him.
I feel like I actually have so much more to say but my brain isn’t spitting it out… i’m sure i’ll be back.
also, not to brag(?) but these last few chapters of them being official have really reminded me of my boyfriend and I and I think that’s why i’ve loved them even more than the past chapters. it just makes my heart really warm.
anyway…. you’re a goddamn genius and I love you (that’s a reference now 😂)
the best chapter so far?? ALYSSA 😭 also not using the ily as a reference im gonna sue you fkjshjkfaasf
ahhh i know, a lot of people do not dig pregnancy scares and i totally understand, but i'm still so happy you guys gave it a chance and enjoyed it. honestly, kook's reaction to it was my main concern and point, and i was low(highkey lol) excited to finally get to it bc he's just so… ugh. a dream. i cried a lot, as well </3 i'm so emotional bc everyone's been saying they could feel the love through that scene alone and it makes me sooooo ahhhh 😭
and the fluff 🥺🦋 ngl, i was extremely scared that cmi might get boring or less interesting now that the angst is over, but… it's really so encouraging to know that you still love it so much. and also to know that the wait for THAT THING was worth it!! i agonised over that scene bc i needed that big moment to be super special eeee 😭 he'll be here, no matter how broken she is, and… vice versa :( she better say it back fr lmaooo!!
that chapter was so jungkook? this is the biggest fucking compliment ever 😭 i always try sooo hard to capture their personalities well (especially with cmi11.5!!), so this makes my heart flutter :( <3 reassuring her and loving her is definitely a jk thing to do. he has so much affection in his heart for the people around him sigh.
omg you already said so much, but if you wanna come back for more,,, gladly hehe 🥺 you and your boyfriend sound so so sweet together!! happy you could see glimpses of yourselves in this one. here's to so much more.. thank you again, love <3333

🍰 to bake my muse’s favorite treat for them (Cassia bringing over baked goods for Jayn or for her to bake them something while they're hanging out together~)
They figured it was time for another girls' day since their shopping trip had been pretty fun. The only problem was, the weather had been crappy for the last week or two, and the forecast wasn't showing anything but rain for the foreseeable future. That meant no trips to the city, because the street would be gross the whole day. So the girls settled on a lazy day inside. They could listen to the music they both liked, rant about Dracula (the current focus of their book club), and...
[Cassia]: Want me to bring lunch?
[Jayn}: Nooo! You don't have to...
[Jayn]: We can make toasted sandwiches! Is that OK?
[Cassia]: 😲😍🥪
[Jayn]: Haha OK 😁
[Cassia]: What about COOKIES?
[Jayn]: *screams* ♥♥♥ shh don't tell the 🥪
So they were going to bake cookies, talk, and then nom their lovely treats. The sandwiches would get made whenever the girls actually got hungry. Jayn politely asked Evelyn to add chocolate chips, oats, and the usual baking ingredients to the grocery list. Mrs. Danvers agreed, on the condition that she get at least two cookies once they're baked. That meant the girls were making twenty cookies.
"Hey!" Jayn cried, ushering Cassia in so she could get out of the cold and the rain. "I hope Ty and Aaron weren't too gross," she said teasingly. The couple had dropped Cass off, since their D&D group had had a short session scheduled that afternoon anyway.
"Nah, they're always cute." The (slightly) shorter of the two shrugged off her wet raincoat, which Jayn took and put in the closet the Danvers had just for...well, guests' coats. That way it had a chance to dry without dripping on anything. "Hey," Cass echoed with a grin, hugging Jayn. It seemed silly to ask how she'd been, since they texted every day they didn't see each other.
"OK, so fill me in!" They both plopped down on a couch so Cassia could tell Jayn the story of the most recent D&D campaign drama. Cass was an excellent storyteller, and Jayn was a great listener, asking questions about the character development and the plot (Jayn didn't need any lore explanation because she'd binged most of the Forgotten Realms wikia). The whole conversation always ended in lots of giggling, especially when the girls started coming up with ridiculous ways the campaign might end. Then, the subject turned to Dracula, which their book club was reading, and to school after that.
"He's just so monotone," Jayn huffed, talking about her boring Freshman Seminar professor, "I have to take notes, and text you guys, and sit on a textbook just to stay awake...ugh. I feel like I'm boring you talking about him. Sorry--"
"Hey, it's OK! Ranting is what best friends are for," Cass assured her. "So: what makes this recipe you found 'The Best Cookie Recipe Ever'?" She wasn't big on sweets herself, but she was happy to bake with Jayn, and excited to see what Evelyn, her dad, and their friends would think of the cookies.
"Alright! Well, the website said they're the best cookies, but I think they are--or, they will be. They have oats in them. And Evelyn got the rich people-kind of stuff, so they're gonna be five-star." With that, the girls jumped up and hurried to the kitchen. Jayn got all the dry ingredients out, since she knew where everything was kept, and Cass got the milk, butter, and baking tools. It wasn't long before there were globs of sugary dough placed on cookie sheets and slid into the waiting oven. "The best part..." Jayn grinned mischievously, holding up the bowl with cookie batter remnants up to the heavens. Cass just snickered at her friend's weirdness. They talked about the movies that were set to come out in a few months while Jayn ate batter off of the wooden spoon they'd used to mix everything.
"I think it's cute. And it's definitely original," Cassia said about The Proposal, "Do you think we can get Pogue and Caleb to see it?"
"Yeah! I mean, Pogue might complain on the way there, but he'll still go, and he probably thinks Sandra Bullock is pretty anyway. Caleb'll say yes because it's a fun thing for the four of us to--ugh." While shoving the spoon in her mouth, a bit of batter had gotten stuck on the corner of Jayn's lips. She set the bowl down and moved towards Cassia, meaning to get to the napkins in the pantry, but her friend stood in her way.
"C'mere..." Cass took half a step forward and carefully wiped off the stray sugar with her thumb. Without thinking, she sucked her thumb clean and hummed at the taste cutely, completely oblivious to how Jayn's eyes were glued on her.
"Cassie." It was barely a whisper, more like a sigh, really, but it was enough. Surprised by the nickname, she looked up in time to see the look on Jayn's face. They went in for a kiss at the same time, both unsure. And then they quickly pulled back. "I'm sorry. I-I shouldn'tve thought you wanted...I'm sorry," Jayn mumbled, on the verge of tears.
Cass was thrown back to when her friend, her ex-girlfriend, had made her look like a perv when they were caught kissing. She touched Jayn's cheek, which made her freeze, and then leaned in for a slower, warmer kiss, before she tried to step back.
"Cassie," Jayn repeated, desperate this time. She gently put her hands on the other girl's waist, only holding her tightly once they kissed again. It was like a practiced dance, how they moved with each other. Well, at first. They parted when they needed to breathe, and then they collided with each other again, Cassia pushing Jayn so her back was against the counter. She bravely nibbled on Jayn's lower lip, which earned her a gasp, and then her hands moved up to feel her friend's breasts.
"Why'd you wear a bra?" she huffed, and they both laughed breathlessly.
"My ass isn't wearing a bra," Jayn retorted, and before Cass could figure out what she meant, she herself was groaning, closing her eyes while kisses were painted down her jaw, down to her collarbone. Proud of her efforts, Jayn paused to nuzzle at a spot there, mumbling something about pretty girls and little freckles. Cassia managed to calm herself enough to take the hint from earlier and squeeze Jayn's ass, which made Jayn whimper and press herself into the other girl. They both laughed gently, exchanging a few lazy kisses before they decided to just stand there, holding each other.
They would've been the best cookies ever even if they were burnt.

SAMMMMMMMMM I CANTTTTTTTT !!!!! i read the protection blurb🥹🥹🥹 i’m literally about to cry they’re ADORABLEEEEE whew😮‍💨😮‍💨 i was cheesing sooooo hard the whole time I CANT BELIEVE YOU ACTUALLY WROTE A BLURB YOURE AMAZINGGGG AHHHHH THANK YOU SO MUCH
i saw your post apologizing for the next part of Most👀….yea i think ima stay away for a littleeee bit longer HAHAHAHA i hate lauren🙄 (idk her)
IM ACTUALLY GOING ON A TRIP !! in the first week of august im traveling to see my sister and some other family (only excited to see my sister tho lmao) and that’s gonna be fun hopefully. not quite sure how long i’m staying but whtvr (i take back what i said, i wanna binge-read Most on the plane and then stress out abt the posting from a different timezone)
i have a new song! (it’s actually old ((and a cover)) but who cares) “Dance Me to the End of Love” The Civil Wars has been on repeat omg. i actually have this whole montage in my head that plays when i hear it of a tv couple and one of them is dying and this is playing in the background while the scene goes from their happy flashbacks to the present AHHH HANDJEIE THATS SO SPECIFIC IDK BUT DO YOU GET IT ?
“You Are In Love” BY TAYLOR SWIFT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOO MACY AND ELLIOT CODED IM SCREAMINGGGGGG !!!! that’s always been one of my all time favorite taylor songs bc it’s just so lovey dovey so ofccc but i just heard it again after reading love & other words and holyyyyyy ugh i almost cried😭😭 i meannnn “one night, he wakes, strange look on his face, pauses then says, you’re my best friend, and you knew what it was, he is in love” AFHKJEAGFOUEHJFL AND THE WHOLE BRIDGE ??? ITS SO THEM anyway, im still completely in love with that story n i think of them a lot (im trying to persuade my sister to read it, she’s being difficult)
IT. HAS. BEEN. STORMING. FOREVER. i kid you not we spent WELL over a week where it was raining and gloomy and gray nonstop BUT IT WAS STILL HOT. its sunny again now though and i am living purely off of iced coffee LMAO
LOVE YOU SO MUCH HOWS IT GOING ??? HOPE YOURE DOING AMAZING MWAH <333
~🎶
Of course! your inspo was such a good idea! I love to make Harry sound dramatic about safety and of course there's no better Harry than the one I wrote in Protection. 💕
That's awesome you're going on a trip and you get to see your sister! I'm sure that will be really happy and exciting. A no return date is so cool. I wish I could have that part of your life for sure 💕 My entire life is scheduled to the minute lol. I think by the time you are on the plane and in a different time zone you won't be stressing too much about Most hehehehe. I think most of the frustrating scenes and parts are all done (but we'll see what I come up with for the remaining parts)
What a beautiful song 😭 my favorite lyric is in the first verse "lift me like an olive branch and be my homeward dove" I TOTALLY see what you're saying about the TV montage. That's how I envision songs and see stories as well. Thank you for telling me about it! I have a couple songs I've also been listening to that are older. Go Solo - Tom Rosenthal, Where's My Love - SYML, and Acoustic - Billy Raffoul (the lyrics for this last one are a bit spicy but it sounds so innocent I didn't notice the lyrics when I first heard it on TV)
It's not a book for everyone! My sister didn't like it because she didn't like that she was engaged. Which I think makes me toxic because I didn't even CARE. I love Macy and Elliot. I think about them 20 times a day. Specifically the part where he calls her honey toward the end and consoles her. I'm a sucker for the comfort trope. But you're right, You Are In Love is about them.
It finally cooled down this past week (it's supposed to heat up again though). I'm doing well. This is the last week of summer school. Can't wait to be done with it. I read a trashy book this weekend and I'm hopeful I'll read another one this week. But I wrote Part 4, 5, and I'm working on 6 of Most so I've been doing literature things but I should be reading more. I need less screen time hahaha. I also watched Maxton Hall and I know it's probably a little young for me, but the enemies to lovers is my weakness.
There is nothing wrong with living off iced coffee 😉 Hope you have a good day! Do you have to pack a lot for an undetermined trip length? I think I would explode trying to pack for that 😭 how do you do it?
LOVE YOU! 💕
xoxo

♡ It wasn’t exactly a secret to you that Shouta liked kids. Even as much has he denied it. He’s literally a teacher and you can see how much he care about his students (even if he complains about them). So when he came home one night, telling you that he was going to be bringing a you he girl home to live with you two, you were in no way surprised. You were excited!
♡ Shouta had told you all about Eri and her story beforehand, he wanted you to know how jumpy and traumatized she was. And after hearing that you were determined to give her the best home possible!
♡ You had Shouta go out and get you a bunch of things to set up her room with, you tried making it as cozy as possible! And you also tried to do something to welcome her home, and Shouta told you she liked apples, so you made her an apple pie for when you first met her!
♡ Like Shouta had said, Eri was very, very nervous around you at first. She hid behind Shouta and refused to go near you. Luckily she trusted him when he said that it was alright, so she trusted you a little bit. She doesn’t really trust you, but she sees that Shouta trust you so that makes her a bit more comfortable.
♡ Shouta has to go to work but because you’re trapped in the house you stay there all day. Which means you get to watch Eri at home all day and stay with her! You try to show her love and show her how to be a kid! You teach her how to play games, you watch classic children's films (her favorite is Totoro by the way!), and you do crafts with her!
♡ Eri has frequent nightmares, often about her past and people coming to hurt you or Shouta. You or him have to get up to go cuddle and comfort her. In the beginning, because she didn’t trust you much, she would only let Shouta come comfort her. But one night he was out on patrol and it was only you. That was the moment Eri started trusting you, when you bummed her a song and held her gently after one of her nightmares.
♡ At least once a week you all cook together as a family! Usually it’s baking though! You all make cookies together or cake, stuff like that. But sometimes you all make full meals. You all definitely have matching family aprons, and it’s adorable.
♡ Shouta cried the first time that Eri called him dad. Of course he waited until she left the room, but he cried. He denied it though, he may be soft but he doesn’t want to be seen as soft. But you know how he is so you let it slide.
♡ Eri absolutely loves your cats! Shouta had cats before he took you and after he took you the cats loved you. And they love Eri too! They can often be found sleeping next to her when it’s bedtime. She also gets a lot of comfort from them, so it’s nice to have them in the room with her.
♡ Shouta might take you out as a whole family. Probably to somewhere where not many people are though. Perhaps a nice park where you all can spend an afternoon or something! Or maybe you all can just go get ice cream.
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Thank you for reading, darling!!

A/N: here’s Part 2/4💘 I told y’all I’m gonna finish this and I will. this short series is NSFW. Enjoy 😭❤️
✨part 1 here✨ | ✨parts 3 & 4 on ao3 only✨
Some would say this was entirely unnecessary, perhaps even a little too casual for work. But you know when you have one of those really good friends you’d do anything for? The kind you’d spend money on without a second thought? That’s how you felt about Suguru. You could call him whenever you wanted and he’d come fix up your car for you, help you lift things, or just lend you his ear. He was an extremely good listener, and he was always there for you. It was hard to believe such a sweet guy could be friends with Satoru. It was also hard to believe how you could ever favor Satoru more.
You were incredibly excited to give Suguru all the things you had gotten him over the weekend. Then, like a raining brick shower, did you remember that he came to your work place, with Satoru, and you anonymously gave him a lap dance. And now, you have to talk to both of them like you weren’t shaking your ass in their faces the night before. Tough.
You questioned all your life decisions as you anxiously dialed Shoko. You told her it was urgent and that you needed help with the gift bags, as well as time for girl talk and morning coffee before work.
When she arrived you graciously hugged her, whining and crying her name as you reached over the arm rest.
“You didn’t tell anyone where I worked at, right?” You say, tear stricken and panicked as you peer at her through wet eyes. She shot you an almost betrayed look. When did you start thinking she could be that menacing?
“No- are you crying? Jesus, what’s gotten into you?” She pushed you away, staring worriedly with baggy under eyes.
“Suguru and Satoru showed up to my other job last night.” You shrieked, leaning against the wheel of your car and burrowing your head in your arms.
“I did have a blindfold on but I don’t know if they knew it was me.” You say, muffling your embarrassment.
Shoko could’ve laughed a bit, picking up her iced coffee.
“You always did talk about giving Satoru the dance of his life to put his pitiful attitude in check.” She said, unpackaging the straw and stabbing the lid.
“Shoko!”
“What? Your words not mine.” She said smugly.
“I mean that’s how I felt but then he actually showed up! And then he gave my co worker his number to give to me! He definitely knows it’s me!”
“Why would he give it to you again on a piece of paper if he knew it was you?” Shoko quizzed.
“To fuck with me, obviously.” You mutter, sinking into the drivers seat. “That’s Satoru shit.”
She swished her coffee around, further mixing her creamer. “That does sound like Satoru behavior.”
“Shoko!” You whined again. “How the heck am I supposed to face him? Not to mention, I got Suguru all this stuff and I was so excited to give it to him. You think he knows too? And what if he didn’t know but Satoru told him? Ugh- my head hurts.” You say, taking up your coffee and plunging the lid with your own straw.
“How good was your blindfold?” She raises a brow at you.
“I looked like Harley Quinn’s knock off stripper sister.” Shoko let a laugh, earning a grunt from you.
“Okay okay, so they probably don’t know. But I would just suck it up and act like you don’t know anything either. Like an ‘I know that you know that I know’ kinda situation? But you’re not gonna do anything about it- kinda thing.”
“And you could always switch jobs if you’re that mortified. Poor Suguru, and his gifts though. It seems like Satoru ruins everything for him.” She sighed.
Shoko had a way of pretending like things weren’t as bad as they were, and though sometimes it bothered you, talking to her helped you relax.
“I forgot to mention I gave Suguru a dance.” You sink more into your chair, covering your face.
“Oh then they definitely know.” She teased.
“Shoko!!!” You whined again.
“I’m kidding! There’s no guarantee that they know or don’t know.” Shoko said, placing her coffee down. “I would fake it until you can’t.”
You wanted to crawl in a hole. Couldn’t you just live a peaceful life?
“I have to move away and change my name, it’s the only way.” You cried.
“Let me help you get the bags,” Shoko said, stepping out the car and ignoring you entirely.
“I was only messing with you, they don’t know a thing. I overheard the two of them inside talking about how nice the place was. They didn’t mention anything in particular while I was clocking in.”
You panicked anyway. Why would they?
“Now up and out, you can’t hide in your car forever.”
You sluggishly climbed out the vehicle and opened your trunk.
“If it makes you feel better I’ll ask them about it for you.” Shoko helped you gather Suguru’s gifts and you went inside.
Just relax, (Name). Be cool, be cool.
You were dazed, deep in thought as you and Shoko walked through the halls. You never regretted giving anyone a lap dance during your entire dancing career. You honestly don’t know what came over you. All you wanted was to make Satoru’s mouth water. It’s not like you didn’t already have his attention with his constant flirting at work but still, why did you have to be so gutsy?
You set the gifts down on your desk, before slumping into your office chair.
“Good morning!” You heard the white haired devil chirp through the door way, knocking ever so lightly on the already opened door. Suguru trailed in quietly behind him, greeting you and Shoko.
“Morning!” Suguru hummed, taking a delicate sip from his coffee.
You shyly waved, before Shoko spoke. “How was your night out?”
Breaking the ice for us all Shoko, I thank the heavens and earth for your existence.
“It was great! Wish you guys could’ve been there. Fanciest club I’ve ever been to, like ever.” Satoru spoke, shoving his hands in his pocket.
“It was cool. I still would’ve rather went to dinner with everyone.” Suguru shrugged, setting his coffee on his desk. You watched Satoru approach your table, quickly changing the subject of conversation.
“What’s all this?” He quizzed, looking down at your sheepish body in your chair. Did they really not know? Or were they possibly pretending not to?
“T-These are gifts, for Suguru,” you stand, feeling a bit more confident. The dark haired male perked up at you, before walking towards your desk.
“I told you not to get me anything,” he sighed. You could see the soft smile edging on his lips as he looked down at you. “And then you spoil me like this? People are gonna think we’re dating, you know?”
You swore you heard Satoru scoff.
“Hush, I told you it’s not a big deal. Besides, you’re always helping me out without asking. You deserve to be spoiled!” You say firmly, hands on your hips. He blushed a bit, realizing he wouldn’t be able to argue with you if he tried.
“You never spoil me this much on my birthday,” Satoru pouted, quickly inserting himself between the two of you, both verbally and physically.
“You’ve got to make your mark on people Satoru,” Shoko said, taking a seat behind her desk.
“I spoil all my friends as needed.” You say, crossing your arms proudly. “If you were a little nicer, maybe I wouldn’t think twice about buying you a bunch of nice things. Besides, your mistresses spoil you plenty.”
“Mistresses? What mistresses? (Name) it hurts my feelings when you talk like that.” Satoru put a hand on his chest, pretending to be offended.
“You have feelings?” Everyone but Satoru said this in unison, resulting the room to fill with heavy laughter.
“Oooo so funny.” He said sarcastically, keeping the straightest face.
“If you’re good to me for the rest of the year I’ll get you something nice.” You say, soothing the wound you all gave him.
“But it’s not your birthday right now, is it?” You say, flipping your hair and shifting behind Suguru. You gave him a little push.
“Go head, open them!” You say excitedly. Suguru lets out a soft laugh, before digging into his bounty.
After watching him open his gifts while Satoru graciously recorded the entire moment for his Instagram, the white haired fiend sparked up an idea.
“So, since Suguru kept saying he wanted to do something with everyone I thought we could take a getaway trip this weekend to my folk’s place in the country side.”
“Just us 4?” Shoko asked. “And are you sure we won’t be bothering your parents?”
“Oh no, this is their vacation house. They only go on the holidays. Also, Nanami is definitely coming!” Satoru cooed.
“That sounds like so much fun!” Shoko swooned.
“I haven’t seen Nanami in so long. This should be exciting.” You clasp your hands together delightedly.
“Why do I get the feeling you didn’t actually ask Nanami if he wanted to come yet...” Geto squinted at Satoru, who smiled childishly.
“Nanami loves me. He is coming by default.” He says proudly. “Speaking of, I have to go meet with him tomorrow to take care of some business. So unfortunately, I won’t be able to train with Megumi. (Name) do you think you could pick him up from school for me tomorrow?”
“The middle schooler you’ve been teaching? Why do I have to do it?” You ask, swaying your hips as you look at him.
“Because~” he sung.
“Because...?”
“He’s been talking about meeting you!” He gleamed.
“Has he really? Are you talking about me behind my back or something? How does the kid even know who I am?”
“Of course! I’ve told him plenty stories about the all powerful (Name)! The mightiest jujutsu sorceress to date.” He was clearly just trying to flatter you.
“Fine, I’ll pick up the kid.” You roll your eyes.
“Yay~” He says, casually hugging you. He always did that, not that you actually minded. And you knew he knew it got to you every time, hearing him smirk as you push him off. You force back a blush as Suguru speaks.
“That didn’t take much convincing,” he smirks with him a bit.
“I just wanted him to stop talking.” You say, grabbing your purse. You could hear Shoko attempting to stifle a laugh behind you.
“Anyways, I’ll see you guys later. I have a class to teach.”  You waved goodbye, on your way to cater to the class of second years you were currently responsible for.
You were finally able to relax, feeling like your dancer identity was safe. Now, all you have to do is forget the lap dance and pray to whatever God there is that neither of them would come back. You proceeded to take out your phone and text your club manager, asking for the weekend off. You were lucky she was so lenient.
The work day lasted longer than you’d liked to, and you hadn’t stayed behind to chat with anyone. Shoko knew you were always keen on going home to shower and relax a bit before your shift at the club.
You were in the club locker room, just barely after 10pm. You wanted to ask Tasty for juicy details on Suguru. You were eager to know if he had texted her or had talked of coming back. Fortunately for you at the same time, she was off today. To you, this decreased the likelihood of seeing the dark haired male and his devilish best friend. That is, if he truly liked her enough to come back.
You were wearing a more revealing set this evening- a suede, pink two piece. You made sure your heel straps were tight enough around your ankles before walking out onto the floor to do your first 10 minute set of the evening. You spun on the pole, climbing gracefully. The higher you went, the more dollars being thrown. You slid down the pole, connecting your body to the floor with a split. You crawled lionlike towards the edge the stage, greeting some of your regulars who sat towards the front. Flipping your body, you get up smoothly ending the routine and collecting your bounty.
As you walked down the stage and made your way towards the bar, you could see the silhouette of a tall, white haired male, speaking to the bartender. His body was turned away from you, and he was ordering a drink as if he just got there.
You knew it was him. You could recognize his cocky stance just about anywhere. You dropped to the floor, crawling away and earning stares from plenty of your coworkers and customers alike. Oh I’m definitely quitting, you thought.
You managed to crawl back towards the locker room.
“This cannot become a routine,” you clutched your chest. It felt like you were having another mini heart attack like the night before. Did he just decide this was his new favorite spot? You could’ve sworn you were in the clear. And two days in a row?
He knows, he has to. Should you confront him? Twice was too many times. You almost can picture his smug face out there right now. You’re a bit angry that he had the nerve to come back again, but a portion of you, the little devil inside you- wanted him to watch you dance again.
Then you remembered Shoko’s words. Fake it until you can’t anymore.
If he wanted to play, then you’d give him exactly what he wanted. You opened your locker, fiddling around through your costumes and head coverings. You took hold of the a pink masquerade mask you had left over from a theme night at the club a few weeks ago.
“This should do.” You say, sliding on the seductive looking mask and fixing your hair in the the mirror.  You struck a pose, before flipping your hair in satisfaction and strutting out of the room. You walked past a few regulars, and made yourself comfortable by the bar area. You decided you’d dance around everyone but him.
Satoru took note of your scent first, realizing your feminine force was behind him. He sipped his drink before spinning in his barstool to look at you dancing amongst the other customers. He adjusted his sunglasses, taking in the sight of you.
The set you wore was more revealing than the one from yesterday. He felt like he truly missed out the night before as he watched you drag your hand down the chest of a stranger, feeling a bit envious. His length felt tight in his jeans yet again. But he was a smooth guy, he knew exactly how to make you come to him.
You noticed him get up from the bar, walking away from where you danced. You couldn’t help but get distracted and anxious. You didn’t want Satoru anywhere you couldn’t see him. You almost jumped when your club’s bouncer, Ravi, approached you in the middle of your mini lap dance.
“Candy, the tall guy,” he tried not to point, “the white haired one with dark glasses wants a private dance.” Satoru approached the bouncer earlier when he first came in, pre-requesting a dance from you and tipping him a hefty amount for it. Though he’d explained he’d be fine if you declined it, he truly just wanted to see just how far he could get.
You stared at the thick wad of cash that stuck out of the pocket of Ravi’s dress shirt. You knew Satoru had the guts to ask you directly, but it was more so that he was that much of an asshole, who simply wanted you to approach him on your own.
Ravi then pointed loosely with his chin at Satoru, who had been sitting on the sofa on the other side of the club now.
You nodded, assuring Ravi you weren’t going to keep him waiting. You walked slowly towards him, he barely made eye contact with you.
Fake it until you can’t.
“Hey handsome,” you lean over the railing, displaying your breasts right beside him. He perked up a bit, though he briefly watched you walk towards him beforehand. He sparks a grin, and you can see blue orbs peering ever so slightly over the edges of his glasses.
“Hey,” he confidently sits back, not even shy about looking at your breasts.
“Have you been here before?” A classic conversation starter, but were you were  attempting to poke fun at the awkward situation.
“Ahh, yes! Ms. Number One, from the private dancer line up. I was here yesterday with my friend.” He took a sip from his glass. “But I don’t expect you to remember. You’re a very busy, and talented woman.”
You bite back a blush, “Thank you.”
“A little birdie told me you wanted a private dance,” you maneuvered around the railing but still leaned against it.
“Oh yeah,” he preferred not to waste time. He pulled a thick and wrapped stack of cash from his shirt and placed it on the table in front of you. You tried your best to keep your eyes from widening. The currency strap read $5000.
“A private dance in the private booth costs a hundred.” You felt inclined to remind him as the both the stack and him stared back at you. “And if you wanted the highest package it’s $500 with champagne and refreshments included for the hour, typically for a group.”
“It says that on your website,” he nods, clearly already knowing the information. You almost squint at him before he speaks again.
“Also, I figured I’d pay you enough to go home for the night if you felt like it.” He shrugged. The Gojo family clearly had it well for him to just toss five thousand dollars at a stranger. You shivered when you remembered counting your earnings from the night before, two thirds of the pile being from Satoru.
A part of you felt like ripping your mask off and asking him to go home. Your awkward silence made him stifle a laugh.
“Candy, baby girl, is somethin’ wrong?”
You knew he knew you were blushing, even with your mask. But you promised yourself one thing after leaving the locker room- you would bring him to his knees. And if  he wanted to play, you’d be sure to win.
“Alright hot stuff, come with me.” You used a finger to slide the stack towards you before picking it up.
He grinned at you before you brought him to one of the private rooms. Everything was preset up considering Ravi saw you warming him up prior.
Satoru made himself comfortable in the soft velvet cushions and red lighting. You sat beside him, taking hold of one of the champagne bottles from the ice bucket. You popped it open, causing some of the foam to splatter onto your breasts and stomach.
“Whoops,” you said playfully. You always liked to tease with the exclusive dances. He bites his lip while he watches you fill both of your glasses, taking up one soon after.
“Do you guys have candy here?”
“Only mints by the bar. Did you want something sweet?” That’s so like him, you thought.
“Nah, mints don’t count.” He shook his head. “Chocolate anything?”
“We have chocolate-covered strawberries,” you suggest.
“That’ll do,” he clutches one of the heart shaped pillows, flashing smile.
You rung the bell on the wall, speaking into the microphone beside it to make the request before plopping beside him.
“You’ve got me for the hour,” you leant towards him, crossing your legs. “So let’s make it count.”
“I was hoping we could talk for a bit first,” he said, swishing the liquid in his glass. You almost panicked, but quickly spoke up.
“Sure, whatever you want.” You lean your arm on edge of the couch. It wasn’t uncommon for guys to request dances from you just for you to listen to their qualms for the hour. Although, you never pictured Satoru as the type to do so. Actually scratch that— you settled into the sofa, preparing to hear him ramble on about himself. You made sure to keep eye contact with him, making it known you were indeed listening.
“I got a thing for this girl— she’s amazing. She hates me though. Granted, I’ve been an asshole since high school. I think she’s into my best friend, although he promises me it’s nothing like that.”
“Have you tried flirting with her?” Satoru was infamous for being a casual, serial dater. You wondered who she could be. Just because you were in his inner circle didn’t necessarily mean this girl was you or anyone you might’ve known. But you couldn’t help but put yourself into perspective anyway.
“Yeah, but she’s pretty mean though.” He grinned, “To me.”
“And that makes you happy?” You questioned.
“I mean, obviously it doesn’t.” He clarified, realizing just how crazy he looked in that moment. “Oddly enough, I’d like to think she likes me back a bit.”
“Sounds kiddish right?” He chuckles. “Like is she a middle schooler or something? She’s been playing hard to get for a while now.”
You twitch your eye a bit, was he really that full of himself?
“She probably doesn’t like you. You shouldn’t try to read between the lines. Have you ever asked her directly if she does?” You reason, trying to humble him a bit.
“Nah, I guess I’m just afraid to ask her the right way.” He cocked his head back, earning a confused look from you. You never knew Satoru could be afraid of anything. He was seemingly a fearless person and he was the most powerful jujutsu sorcerer to date.
“Could you elaborate?” You poked.
“She’s the only woman whose ever rejected me. Can you believe that?”
You’re partially amused, these truly were the thoughts in his head— you were sure of it.
“What I mean mostly is that I think she’s an idiot,” he chuckled. You almost broke into laughter.
“For rejecting you?”
“No, no, no— well, maybe. I think she’s incredibly dense. I’ve known her for like 10 years. That or she just tunes out my advances.” He scoffs.
“Everyone else knows it’s obvious I still like her. I think the reason why I’m never direct with my feelings, or the reason I boil it down to casual flirting is because I’m scared of her rejecting me again.”
“The first time was when we were both seniors in high school. She told me to try again after I learned some ‘compassion’. It feels like she’s somewhat interested in me. And I hardly think I need to learn anything— but it’s been years since she said that.” He adds.
He hadn’t looked at you the entire time, sort of ogling at his drink before setting it down.
He was unraveling in front of you, as a complete stranger.
“You get this a lot— the sappy talks, right?”
You nodded, “It’s no big deal.”
“I promise I’m not like this all the time.”
A clearer look inside Satoru’s mind was interesting, to say the least. You don’t think he acted this way on purpose. Perhaps, nothing has pushed him into such a corner for him to begin actively taking people’s feelings into account the way the average person might.
He huffed. “What would you do?”
You pondered for a bit, what would you do? You weren’t sure who the mystery woman he described was but you felt a little jealous, trying to wrap your head around the idea of him being this smitten over someone. He had given you a taste of himself, something he dared not to show you when you weren’t wearing the mask.
“Be direct next time you approach her. Stop playing around so much and tell her how you really feel. Nothing too grand, and try your best to understand her if she rejects you again. You’re a handsome guy, so it won’t be the end of the world if she does.” You explain.
“I don’t mean to sound insensitive by saying that last part either.” You added. Though his head was cocked back, his gaze shifted towards you. He hardly looked worried or sad at all. He shot you a toothy smirk, making you squirm in your seat a bit.
“I know that,” he finally says. There he was again, being his typical arrogant self. “If it doesn’t work out, you’ll see me back here again.”
Dear God, Satoru becoming one of your regulars? You didn’t know if you could handle that. You could just work in a different club. Lord, let this mystery woman scoop him up, and make your life easier.
The thought of him coming regularly just to see you made you happy sort of, but you found yourself getting jealous for the days you wouldn’t work. Suddenly, you didn’t want anyone else dancing for him. It had to be you.
“Woah, you okay?” He tilted his head towards you. You held your cheeks in your hand. If you were a kettle, you’d physically be steaming.
“You’ve got a cute side, Ms. Candy. That’s precious.” He leant forward, glasses sliding down his nose a bit. No matter how long you’ve known him, he would still give you butterflies just like when you were younger.
The server entered the room, placing the strawberries that he ordered onto the table. You watched him take off his shades and hang them on his shirt.
“Fuck yes,” he grinned, picking up one of the chocolate covered fruits. You watched him take a bite, tugging on your own bottom lip. He slid his tongue between two fingers, blue orbs just barely glinting at you. He hummed in delight as you awed at him. Really, everything about him was perfect aside from his flawed personality. You would’ve been dating him already if you felt he’d be a good boyfriend. He was obviously and unfairly attractive. You were positive the sex would be good too, considering you heard more than satisfactory things. He was tall, and wealthy, and strong and talented. He was just a shitty person sometimes.
Somehow you liked him all this time, he’s been the only man whose kept your interest. That’s partially because he was persistent, in the most attractive and appealing way. But you’re adults now, maybe you should stop playing around so much.
Did you even have time to change your mind with this mystery girl in the way?
“I think I’m ready for my dance now,” he said smugly, breaking you out of your thoughts.
“Of course baby. Just sit back and relax.” You had to remind yourself, you’re Candy right now, and not (Name).
He sunk back into the sofa, spreading his legs as you got up and positioned yourself in front of him. He spreads his long arms on the head of the sofa, slight smile leaking at the corners of his lips.
You swayed your body, giving him a show. It was finally happening. You were giving him the very thing you fantasized about since you started dancing. You climbed onto his lap, grinding against him as the music played in tandem with your hips. He seemed elated, and not even remotely ashamed of the growing bulge in his jeans. You were feeling antsy, watching him with his arms sprawled out like that.
“I don’t normally let people touch me during my dances, but you can if you want.” You weren’t supposed to sound so shy when you said it.
“You’re being extremely generous, I’ll tip you again, for sure baby.”
You felt his large, hot hands connect with your back, running down the smooth skin. You smiled smugly, looking down at him. You grinded against him some more, feeling his bulge confidently poke against your sex.
All you ever wanted was for him to touch you like this. You were mad at yourself for holding out this long— why did his hands feel so good against your bare skin?
Possibly just because you liked him, and that amplified the experience.
Lost in the moment, you felt your hands run through the smooth fade of his undercut while you humped his lap. The amount of stimulation this gave the both of you was astounding. You heard a soft groan leave his lips, rising color out of your cheeks.
You brought a finger to the string of your outfits top, pulling it undone and gracing him with the sight of your breasts as you tossed the fabric on the sofa. He was sort of surprised, but his facial expression was nothing short of cocky. It wasn’t the first time a stranger stripped top-less for him, and coincidentally, making panties drop was his hobby.
“Oh~?”
His voice was terrifically deep, you never knew he could drop an octave this low. You’d usually be talking up a storm, doting on your customers with compliments and saying appropriately reassuring things. The entire experience was weird, having your childhood crush grope you and nuzzle his face into your breasts hadn’t been on your to do list for the evening.
He hummed against the skin in the center of your chest, sending vibrations up your spine.
“I know I’m pushing it, considering this is nothing but a service agreement, but I’d be happy to make you feel good— if you want me to, that is.”
You looked down at him, knowing the mask you wore couldn’t save you from him noticing the blushing look on your face.
“Just what do you take me for?” You’re being playful about it, wrapping your arms around his neck so he knows you’re not offended.
“A hard working woman. I envy the man who gets to spoil you.”
You couldn’t think of a response, and you assumed he caught on due to the way your lips parted and no sound emerged.
“Ohh-hoh??? There isn’t one, is there?”
He stole the show from you, and now you’re sitting in his lap like some sort of blushing sheep.
“That makes me feel sort of special,” he purred, taking one of your nipples into his mouth. You let out a dainty moan, grinding harder against him. You were no longer grinding along with the music, just finding a rhythm that would satisfy the both of you. He grunted at your sudden change in pace, his searing hot breath against your skin.
“Is that a yes?” He asked, nipple between his teeth.
“What about the girl you like?” You found yourself regretting even saying that, considering you were supposed to be a neutral party.
“You jealous?”
You suck in your bottom lip, barely forming a pout. He truly was an asshole to everyone. It didn’t even matter if someone was on top of him. Before you’re able to say anything, he speaks again.
“Don’t be.” He pressed a sweet kiss to the center of your chest, heightening the crimson hues on your cheeks. His soft lips unfortunately tore from your body when his phone rang. He slipped the thing from his jacket pocket, answering the call.
“Alright, I’ll be there in 30.” He said finally after following subsequent huffs. He ended the call, looking back up at you with apologetic eyes.
“I’ve gotta cut this short,” he was pained to say it. He was having too much fun.
“That’s alright.” You say, sliding your leg off him and finding your top.
He stood, straightening his clothes whilst muttering what you barely made out as ‘fuckin’ Nanami’ through his teeth. You almost laughed, as you tied your top back on.
“Candy, baby, I’m sorry. Guess I’ll have to come back again.” He looked too happy to say it.
“Before your confession?” You say smugly. “Or after?”
“No no, I’m a man of my word. I’ll come back only under those conditions I mentioned.” He says.
“I wish you the best of luck.” You say, crossing your legs.
“You’re rooting for me? You really don’t wanna see me again.” He chuckled as he towered over you, his blue gaze now covered by his glasses again.
“I’m always rooting for my customers.” You smile slyly.
His grin softened, and you wish you knew why he was looking at you like that.
“See you around, Ms. Candy.”
He waved goodbye as he exited the room, finally allowing you a some relief. Hopefully this chick doesn’t reject him, you thought.
Even though he probably wouldn’t come back, you thought about quitting and working elsewhere anyway. You tore off your mask, pushing your hair back out of your face.
You really didn’t want to have to wear one of these again.

✰warnings: none
✎a/n: ahh ty for requesting!! im so sorry but i just.., we dont really write for hinata im so so sorry baby- hes on the masterlist, but we really. just really dont like him. anyways., i added some characters and part two coming soon! i had a little bit of trouble with kuroo, but i hope you enjoy it <3
➳ᴜꜱʜɪᴊɪᴍᴀ, ᴋᴜʀᴏᴏ, ʙᴏᴋᴜᴛᴏ, ɪᴡᴀɪᴢᴜᴍɪ
☾ ⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚:⠀ *⋆.*:・゚ .: ⋆*・゚: .⋆
✰ ushijima
He swears that he just KNOWS the gender of your baby before you’ve even had your first ultrasound, and with your third child you’ve just come to accept that he actually, really does know. Or maybe it’s dumb luck, but that never seems to be the case with him and he’s far too sure of himself
Talks to the baby no different from you, asks them for advice knowing they won’t be able to answer, but their little coos and smiles directed towards him are all the help he needs anyways
Sews patches into their play clothes when they’ve become too worn to wear, and teaches them how too! Makes his daughter a hello kitty bag when she says she wants a purse and she uses the leftover fabric to patch his work jeans, which he tore on purpose just because she wanted to put her new skills to use. He wears them out in public and with pride
Okay I know he’s a pro athlete but he’s also a farm boy sorry. Anyways he throws blankets into the back of a pickup truck and takes the kids on a (slow, and careful) ride through the backroads. Could you imagine having a dog back there with them too?? He’d train it to tug on their pants when they lean too far out of the truck and keep them safe
Excellent at putting babies to sleep. He’s kind of confused by them at first, and isn’t really sure what to do with them, but eases up when he sees how easily they drift off to sleep when he tucks them into his chest and pats their back
Doesn’t bring up volleyball to them, but secretly  has his fingers crossed that they’ll ask him to play one day; which of course they do, duh, he’s a pro player. As soon as they show even a mild interest in it he’s signing them up for the little league teams and bragging to his teammates
Keeps a photo of the family in his wallet and when he’s away for matches that you can’t make it to often gets caught just staring at it; the team shoots confused looks his way because he’s been looking down at the same photo for 30 minutes straight and smiling softly
☾ ⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚:⠀ *⋆.*:・゚ .: ⋆*・゚: .⋆
✰ iwaizumi
Please Iwaizumi with boys is just a role model father. He absolutely adores his little man and drills manners into his head from day one. It’s very important to him that he knows how to treat people with respect and be respected!
The moment he finds out he’s going to be a father he starts planning to build a treehouse. You haven’t even begun to put together a nursery and he’s made several trips to the hardware store and stacked wood in your backyard, and spends the baby’s growing years perfecting it
He buys/sends you flowers on every single Friday, and hasn’t missed one yet. Your little boy catches on and saves up his allowance to buy you some too, because he’s gone with his dad to pick them up plenty of times and knows the way there relative to his walk home from school
He nearly cries with pride, because come on; that’s too cute.
Iwaizumi with a daughter? Different breed. He may not be real but my feelings for him are and I would do ANYTHING for him
He dresses her up in the ugliest frilly little dresses and takes hundreds of photos, and goes to daddy daughter events/dances??!? Bye I’m smitten.
Little league coach!!! Listen he knows and loves sports, just the whole category, so everything his kids wanna sign up for you bet your ass he’s signing himself up for too
And he’s a GREAT coach ugh he always knows how to handle the kids, and given his profession is a bargain deal, they’re super lucky to have him there tbh
The other parents try and flirt with him and he just freezes up and panics because he can’t respond to them like he usually would to people given his kids are involved, so he just starts rambling about how great you are
Takes them to practices he’s needed at sometimes and before bringing them in, practically gives the whole team a death threat. They have fun there, though, and he’s screeching instructions and insults out at them with his kid asleep in his arms
☾ ⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚:⠀ *⋆.*:・゚ .: ⋆*・゚: .⋆
✰ bokuto
He cries when he finds out he’s going to be a dad. Big, ugly tears, and crushes you with his hugs. Wastes no time whatsoever in bragging to everyone about how lucky he must be to be having your kids ugh hes a cutie
Also cries when they’re born, and it’s visible in every photo. It’s heartwarming, though, and you’re ecstatic to see just how excited he is. You certainly know you’ve made the right choice
When he’s away for games, he always calls to tell his kids a bedtime story and tell them he loves them. Even if it’s 12pm or 3am for him, he keeps his alarm set to go off for 9pm at home.
When he can’t tell a story because he’ll be in the middle of a game, he begs, BEGS, for someone on the sidelines to answer the incoming facetime call and face the camera towards him. When it’s done and over, he’s handed his phone and it met with their sleeping faces, with an msby flag clutched loosely in their tiny fists
He always makes up for having to travel by taking them out individually so they all feel special, whether it’s for ice cream or to a movie. It’s their choice, and he gives them his undivided attention the entire time
They’re completely spoiled by him, honestly. Their allowance is cut off by you because he’s not even leaving enough for him to buy himself lunch-
Shows up to practice when then they’re born just to show them off, excitedly displaying his blessing to all of his teammates before promptly tucking them away into their carseat and leaving before they can make him stay-
✰ kuroo
☾ ⋆*・゚:⋆*・゚:⠀ *⋆.*:・゚ .: ⋆*・゚: .⋆
Sends his kids to private school, but makes sure they engage in community activities; he still wants them to have the same neighborhood kid experience that he did rather than being stuck up like their classmates, and will push them towards sports
Carries them around on his shoulders nearly everywhere he goes, when they’re babies always has them strapped to his chest and insists he be the one to hold them when you’re out and can’t use a stroller
Buys EVERY single parenting book he can find. Even the ones in the dollar store bargain bins, and compiles every common suggestion into a spreadsheet. By the time the baby’s born he has 12 pages on every book he’s read, everything he’s learned from it, complete with statistics and a works cited page
Takes classes! Is very nervous and doesn’t really know much about babies so he really wants to just make sure he can’t do anything wrong, and like the nerd he is learns as much as possible
He may as well be a pediatrician at this point tbh
Keeps stuffed animals in the bottom drawer of his desk at work for when he brings them in, and will make a bed where his feet would usually go for them to nap on time so they won’t interfere with your sleeping at home
The dad that is angry that math isn’t done the same way as when he was in school and they both have a whole entire moment at the dining room table

Be a Good Guest, 12
Gabriel getting his rescue arc <3
CW: Held captive, conditioned whumpee, manipulation, *inhales *parental creepy possessive overprotective intimate whumper, rescuing whumpee, drugging implied
masterlist
The day finally came; the day he was dreading.
That morning Gabriel awoke to a new pair of clothes on a hanger strung from his doorknob waiting for him. It was a navy blue shirt, soft black jacket and dark jeans, the outfit Walter loved on him the most.
He had them washed and ironed just for today, the day his sister came just so he could show him off. He shuttered at the thought as he roughly tugged the shirt over his head. Hopefully, his sister wasn’t as monstrous as Walter was...
Right?
He nervously crept into the kitchen, Walter was cooking and baking like a madman.
“Son!” He cheered when he noticed Gabriel. He shied away, but his arm was quickly grabbed as he was pulled over to the large chipped rusted mirror. Walter took both his shoulders and pushed him down onto the stool, mercessly running a brush through his hair.
He was normally very gentle with the brush, but he wasn’t today. He bit his lip with every rough stroke until he quietly whimpered “You’re hurting me...”
“Sshshh, now now, be tough. I want you to look perfect today.” Walter smiled, pressing the cold palm of his hand against Gabriel’s chin to tilt his head up to look at himself in the mirror.
“Just look at you, so young, so sweet. You look wonderful, son.” He smiled, stroking his fingers through his hair once last time with a kiss. Gabriel tensed and cringed, but didn’t dare pull himself away.
I'm not your son.
“We’ve got an hour, be on your best behavior, mmkay?” His arms wrapped around his chest as he rested his chin on his head with a smile.
“Yes sir..“ He shook with a murmur.
Walter set the kettle while Gabriel nervously paced around the kitchen. He tried desperately to control his trembling legs, taking deep breaths and walking slowly, but his terror only grew with every minute that ticked away.
“Don’t be nervous, dove. I’m probably more nervous than you! I haven't seen my baby sister in ten years.” Walter chuckled.
I doubt that.... You’re safe and life isn’t on the line...
There was a knock on the old wooden door as Gabriel froze. Walter practically jumped for the door with excitement.
Life was moving in slow motion, he could feel his pulse pounding in his head as his legs threatened to give away.
Please... Leave me be... Don’t hurt me...
“Come, Gabriel!” Walter had snapped, but his voice sounded far and distorted.
‘I can’t do this’ Gabriel rasped beneath his breath. His hands fumbled for the doorknob to the basement, unlatching the cold iron lock. He curled up in his usual “timeout” corner on the cold floor as he draped his body over a forgotten rolled up rug.
He hid his face in his arms as he let his sleeves soak up his tears. He would rather be left alone down here, then up there. Soon, angry stomps stormed down the stairs as Gabriel shrunk further into the darkness.
“Gabriel! What on earth do you think you’re doing down here!? Get up!” He snapped.
“No!” Gabriel shouted, poking his head up just enough to see him.
“Let me stay down here, please! I’ll stay here as long as it takes to make you happy!” He cried.
Walter’s face fell from anger to concern as he knelt by his side.
“Gabriel, what are you talking about?” He asked. He let out a sigh as he thumbed away his tears. “You’re not in any trouble, this isn’t a trick, this isn’t a test. This is family coming to see you.” He smiled.
He should have seen this coming, his dove was just too fragile for something so sudden. It was his own fault for not easing him into a big change. He was so small and helpless. He should have done a better job at caring for him.
"Just... Come meet her? Please? For me?” He gave his best innocent face as Gabriel sniffled, slowly nodding his head
“Atta boy.” He grunted, wrapping his arms around him to pull him to his feet. “Try to behave. And smile.” He encouraged, leading him up the stairs as Gabriel clung to him by his coat.
-
Malady’s eyes scanned the old living room. It was well kept at least, not a speck of dust nor stain. There were odd metal loops embedded into the floors and walls but nothing attached to them, just an old rusted metal loop.
How odd.
She heard muttering and shuffling coming from the basement, Walter had just said Gabriel was being shy and ran off to go collect him.
Even more odd.
She shook her head while shaming herself, she shouldn’t always think of the worst of him. She had painted him as a monster in her head all these years, she was here to give him a second chance.
She plastered a sweet smile on her face when Walter finally returned, a figure hiding behind him.
“I’m so sorry for the wait! He’s not used to guests. Come on out now, Gabriel. I really want you to meet my sister.” He coaxed.
Gabriel slowly came out from under Walter’s arm, looking up at her with nervous eyes. She couldn’t control her smile as it slowly faded into shock.
“He’s-..”
“Adorable, isn’t he?” Walter cooed.
“I-... That’s not what I was going to-...” She was at a loss of words.
He was an adult. A clearly broken traumatized conditioned adult.
“Come! Sit down, I made dinner!” He cheered as Gabriel flinched and hid back behind him.
“Right, of course!” Her expression instantly turned soft again.
The table was set beautifully, filled to the edge with an assortment of all the food groups and dessert. They settled at the table as Walter’s eyes darted down at her shoulder brace.
“How have you been?” he asked.
“Good! Good, I got engaged last month.” She smiled proudly, flaunting the small ring on her finger.
“What!? That’s amazing!” He cheered, Gabriel shrunk lower in his seat at his sudden raised tone. “Ugh, whoever they are must be truly lucky. I’m sad I didn’t get to interrogate them to see if they were worthy.” He chuckled.
“So I uh... I got a hint of what happened to your shoulder.” He motioned. Malady sighed as she rested her arm on the table.
“Faulty parachute, combat medic training.” She sighed, weakly twitching the fingers of her right arm. She still wore the dog tag from the military, even though it had been three years.
“Enough about me, I want to know all about you two!” She smiled, resting her chin on her folded hands. “How’d you find him?”
“He um... It’s a funny story.” Walter chuckled. “Gabriel was in a car crash and I took the liberty of taking him in! Didn’t have anyone else so he ended up staying for longer and longer, then we made it permanent!”
That’s a lie.
“Oh! Is that right, Gabriel?” Malady’s eyes darted to him as he shot with posture.
Two pairs of eyes burned into his skull, desperately awaiting his answer. Sweat beamed on his brow as his eyes fearfully darted between the two.
“Yes mam, that’s right.” He mumbled.
Walter smiled proudly, Malady only looked more skeptical.
“You weren’t hurt too badly I hope?”
Before Gabriel could answer, Walter spoke for him. “He was fine! A busted lip is all.” He quickly interrupted. Gabriel’s mouth slowly shut.
“Huh.” She murmured, glaring at her brother.
“And where did you come from, Gabriel? You must have had a life before, right?”
“He hardly had anything! He was like a lost puppy wandering the streets.” He answered for him again. Gabriel’s expression darkened, but he said nothing.
That was a lie.
“Is that so... Well then, how kind of you to take him in, Walter.” She smiled.
That was... A lie?
She lied to me.
No one can lie to me.
“My dear! The tea is ready.” He smiled, abruptly standing up to grab the kettle. He set the golden pearly teacup full of steaming tea in front of her. “Wait... This-” She lifted the teacup, studying it until she found her initials engraved into the base.
“It was your old one, the one you left at my place, ten years ago.” He smiled.
“That’s right...” She murmured, pausing for a moment.
“Anyway, as much as I'd love a tea, it’s far too late in the day for me, thank you though.” She smiled, pushing the cup away from her. “Keep the cup.” She winked.
Walter’s face fell, twisting with disappointment... Disgust
Why didn’t she drink it?
She knows.
Doesn’t she?
“It’s the finest tea! I remembered how to make it just the way you like it. Really, you should give it a sip.” He smiled, his hand aggressively sliding it back to her.
“And I’m sure it’s divine! But I would really like to sleep tonight.” She challenged, sliding it back like a game of opposite tug-of-war between siblings.
“How about some herbal tea then! I can make a fresh batch.”
“I have a thermostat waiting for me in the car.”
“DAMMIT!” He finally snapped, grabbing the tiny teacup and smashing it on the floor as Gabriel let out a frightened yelp.
In an instant, Walter grabbed the meat tenderizer sitting on the counter as he charged her. Her left arm shot out, catching his wrist in mid swing as she wrenched his arm to the side, throwing him against the wall as the tool fell from his hands.
Gabriel bolted from the chair, knocking it over with a loud *bang* which scared him further as he locked himself in his room. Malady watched him sadly, but was relieved he wasn’t here to watch the rest.
“I know what you did.” She hissed, crouching down to his level as Walter trembled on his knees trying to get back to his feet. “I knew you hadn’t changed... But I... I had hope, Walter. I had hoped you got better. I’m sad to see I was wrong.” She sighed.
“Y-you...” He spat. “Yo-you can’t take him f-from me...” He growled as he glared up at her.
“Yes I can.”
"And I will."

Galentines Gone Wrong
Pairing: Wendell Bray x Reader, Valentine’s Special.
Word Count: 2,623
Summary: Y/n Booth is an FBI agent who works under her brother Seeley Booth and is also partnered with the Jeffersonian. Valentines rolls around and Cam, Daisy, and Y/n are all painfully single. Brennen and Angela join in and the group decides it’s girls night, get absolutely smashed, cause major chaos and get arrested for disturbing the peace. When their counterparts show up to bail them out, girls night turns to date night... or whatever this is.
Edit, March 11th: I hate the end of this. I reread it and it’s lowkey trash, but I’m going to keep it up because people seem to be enjoying it. Just a disclaimer that this is not my best work.
Notes: Tbh I second guessed this yesterday, hence the late post. I want to clarify that Wendell IS NOT preying on a drunk girl, and there was no drunk hookup. This is definitely not my favourite thing I’ve written and I was so out of ideas for the ending, but fck it, I have a migraine and feel like the personification of death. ALSO I WOULD NEVER USE GALENTINES IRL IK ITS LAME BUT I SIMPLY DO NOT CARE. HOLDIDAY SPIRIT BABES. Anyway, on with the show.
It’s been a long night. Fun, but long. You wake up against Daisy’s side, stretching lazily, and still partially drunkenly. As you sit up, you recall the events that led to your current seat in a drunk tank.
The five of you ended up in a biker bar, huge leather-clad and big bearded dudes all over the damn place. Despite being big scary bikers, they were chill and actually bought half of your drinks. Then you and Daisy got a little too close to an attractive younger biker, and his girlfriend was not having it. So an argument turned full on brawl caused the lot of you to bail out of the bar and trek back into town.
Only you were real rowdy, laughing and singing, a little to loudly for anyone’s liking. And got the cops called on you. And got thrown in a dunk tank. Unfortunately “you can’t arrest me, I am the law” doesn’t work if you’re drunk. The cops weren’t a fan of your badge, either.
You’re torn from your thoughts at the sound of voices down the hall, and you stumble over the the bars of the cell, holding onto them for balance. A half-hour nap didn’t do much to sober you up. The voices get closer, and your friends and brother walk in. Wendell’s the first one you notice, your eyes immediately darting to him. He’s wearing a hot ass black jacket, jeans and a white T-shirt, and you stare at him for a lot longer than you should.
“Hey, BJ. Never thought I’d see you on the other side of the bars.” Hodgins laughs at your expression of annoyance, and lets the cop they’re with open the cell door. He walks over to grab Angela, and you scoff.
“I told you to stop calling me BJ. I know you mean Booth Junior, but other people might think something else,” you mutter, much less than impressed at the innuendo tied to the nickname.
Your brother and Sweets go collect Brennan and Daisy, and Cam stands up on her own. She’s the most level-headed of all of you, and she’s completely sobered up now. Wendell walks to your side, your brother is too occupied with his (much less coordinated than you are) wife. Wendell puts an arm around you, and you gladly lean into him, hands settling on his chest.
“You’ll never guess what we did,” you giggle drunkenly against Wendell’s chest, overcome with the giddiness of a schoolgirl with a crush.
“Apparently you guys disturbed a lot of peace.” Wendell has somewhat of an impressed/concerned/entertained smirk on his face. He looks down at you, massively interested in the story as to how you got here. Not that he’ll hear it anytime soon.
“How’d you know?!” You look up at him with surprise written all over your face, a gasp escaping your lips, and it takes a lot for him not to burst out laughing.
“The sheriff told me. Let’s take you home, okay?”
“Okay,” you mumble, much more sullenly than five seconds ago.
Wendell keeps an arm around you, more than a little worried that you’re gonna fall over, and takes you to his car. You get in the front seat, smacking his hand away as he tries to help with your seatbelt. After successfully buckling the seatbelt, you glance back at him with a smirk.
“You know if you wanted to get on top of me all you had to do was ask.”
Wendell nearly chokes and dies at what you’re insinuating. He’s also not sure if this is the tequila talking or if it’s you talking. Composing himself quickly, he lets out a chuckle, saying something along the lines of ‘okay then,’ and closes the door for you. He walks around the front of the car, making his way to the driver’s seat. Hodgins drives by, Angela and Cam in the car with him, and waves as he heads home.
Seeley pulls up beside Wendell, looking at him sternly. Daisy and Brennen are singing in the back seat, and Wendell can see Sweets in the front seat, holding back laughter. It’s a funny sight really, the usually stoic Dr. Brennen and overly excitable Daisy, swaying together in the back seat singing an off-key rendition of piano man. Seeley makes a face at a certain piercing high note that comes from Dr. Brennan, before turning to Wendell.
“Listen man, I appreciate it. If we didn’t live on the opposite side of town, I’d take her home.” Seeley leans out the window slightly, looking at Wendell.
“It’s no problem, really.” Wendell smiles, giving your brother a small wave as he turns to get in his car. “I’ll make sure she gets home safe.”
“Wait! Not that I think you will, but don’t try anything. Alright?”
“Course not, man. Don’t worry, I got this. Head home, I’ll text you when I get Y/n home.” Wendell knows your brother means no harm, obviously, yet can’t help but think about why he’d even think to say that to him.
When he gets back in the car, seeing you sleeping soundly in the passenger seat, curled up and leaning against the window, his worries melt away and he smiles. He turns the car on and lowers the radio volume before driving off.
Tonight summarizes the two of you pretty well, actually. Y/n, the chaotic do-good-er badass, and Wendell, the (sometimes also chaotic) best friend, who always has your back. Sometimes it pains him that you only see him as that, a best friend, but he’s okay with just being that. A friend. Because it means he gets to see you happy. Little does he know, you wouldn’t have gotten so sauced tonight if you weren’t drinking away the thoughts of his lips on yours, his skin pressed against yours as the night turns to morning, the idea of a spark that doesn’t exist. The day of love sucks.
And for some reason, neither of you can see that you’re crazy about each other. Maybe it’s because you’re afraid to ruin what you have, or maybe it’s because you’re both just oblivious, but it doesn’t make a huge difference. Nothing seems to be happening.
Wendell is occupied with a lot of thoughts as he drives to your place. His mind bounces all over the place. He thinks about how you met, when you first walked into the Jeffersonian covered in dirt and sweat (in a cute way... even though he thinks anything is cute on you) after a chase in the desert, just to see your brother and make sure he was okay. He also thinks about the time he literally ran into you and the two of you fell down the platform stairs. The alarms went off, and everyone stared at the pair of you tangled up on the floor. Needless to say it took a while to live that one down. He thinks about every time he’s seen you laugh, and the few that he’s seen you cry. Not that you really even cried, you just couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. You don’t exactly do emotions, not out in the open at least.
He thinks about every reason he’s so smitten with you. You’re courageous, selfless, you protect your friends and family, you’re cutthroat and ferocious, yet simultaneously the sweetest person he’s ever met. You care about every detail of his day when you ask how he’s doing, and you can tell when the slightest thing is off with him, or anyone else at the lab, except for noticing his flaming crush on you. And as he thinks about all the little things, he realizes it can’t stay bottled up forever. He has to tell you.
Before long, you’re home. The two and a half hour drive have Wendell a lot of time to think, yet somehow it also feels like he’s had no time at all. The time has also started your trail toward sobriety, and you can at least think coherently. Wendell wakes you, and when you wake up, your hand goes to your head.
“Good god. Did I get hit by a bus?” Your words are still slightly jumbled together, but you’re getting back to business as usual, and that’s good enough.
“There she is,” he singsongs playfully, glad to see your usual demeanour starting to return. You unbuckle your seatbelt, groaning when you go to move. Wendell offers you a hand, and you take it.
Helping you up, he puts an arm around your waist again. You stumble slightly, and when he catches you, you fall against him, leaning against his chest. He ends up just scooping you up off the ground and carrying you inside, placing you on the couch. You’re mostly in good shape, just awful clumsy and distracted due to your headache. Wendell heads into the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water and some crackers.
“How you doing?” He sits by your thigh, putting an arm on the back of the couch and looking over at you. You cover your face with your hands, laughing gently.
“Ugh, please tell me I didn’t actually make the worst sex implication joke ever.”
“Um...”
“Oh shit. This is embarrassing.” You sit up, still a little tipsy, but not as messed up as you were at the police station. Maybe if things go off you can play it off as Valentine’s tequila. “Fuck it. I’m just gonna go for it. Tonight was fun or whatever, but I really wanted to spend it with you.”
“We could’ve done that. We can hang out this weekend if you want.”
“No, no. You really are a blonde.” You laugh, nudging his shoulder with your fist. Suddenly nervous, you start to ramble. “Not that that’s bad, because you’re definitely pretty. You’re a cute blonde, and you do have really nice arms, they’re really toned, and you know, at the garage you wear these tight shirts and sometimes I just stare and I worry you see, but-“
“Y/n! You’re getting off track here.” He puts a hand on your shoulder, laughing at your rambles. “Maybe we should talk about this tomorrow.”
“I like you a lot.” The words are out of your mouth before he’s even finished his sentence. “Like I have feelings for you?” It comes out like a question, but it’s meant as more of a fearful statement.
“Wait, really?” His eyes widen and his smile falls. At first you think he’s about to run for the hills, but when a small smile appears on his face you’re not so sure.
“Ah, shit, I shouldn’t have said anything,” you curse, rolling your eyes at your own stupidity. That’s fuckin embarrassing.
“No, I like you, too. A lot.” Wendell takes your hand, and you lay against his side as he keeps talking. “We can talk more, when you’re sober. But I do like you. And I think that if we decided that this weekend’s hangout was more ‘ice skating in the park’ instead of ‘trying to kill each other at the rink’, I’d be more than okay with that. I’d like that a lot, actually.” He lets out a small, nervous chuckle, and he glances down at you, fingers grazing your cheek as he contemplates if it would be weird to cup your face with his hand and run his thumb over your cheek.
“Really?” You look up at him with an adorable awestruck expression, and he nearly bursts out laughing.
“Yeah, really.” A smile stays glued to his face, and he shifts slightly, which causes you to sit up. “Now, you should probably go to bed, so that you’re not completely useless tomorrow.”
Wendell plants a small kiss on the top of your head, before standing and scooping you up, bringing you to your room. He drops you gently on your bed, and you let out a small giggle as you bounce slightly with the impact. You banish him from your room so that you can change, and not really paying attention, grab a black hoodie and shorts out of your closet. When you open the door again, he’s just leaning against the wall outside.
“Sorry, I didn’t know where you wanted me to set up- is that my hoodie? I’ve been looking for that!”
“Huh?” You look down at the sweater, seeing the small Jeffersonian logo on the left side of the chest, and the initials on the sleeve. “Oh, I guess it is.” You remember when he gave it to you, he couldn’t stand the idea of you remaining in your blood soaked T-shirt, the grey had become a sticky maroon, too much so to be comfortable. “You can have it back-“
“No, you keep it.” He steps closer, lifting your chin so that you look at him, and brushing a stray hair out of your face. His voice drops, becoming softer and breathy. “It’s much cuter on you anyway,” he murmurs, making you blush profusely, a little laugh escaping your lips.
The two of you fall silent, each staring at the other’s lips. A hum comes from the furnace, causing you both to startle slightly, and it ends the moment. You glance back at Wendell again, before sitting on your bed. He tilts his head at you, mildly confused as to what you’re doing.
“Where did you want me to sleep?”
“Wherever you want. There’s blankets and a few pillows in the closet.”
He thanks you and walks out, and you breathe in deeply, not realizing how shallow your breathing had become. Your mind is racing, and so is your heart. This is simultaneously about the best and worst Valentine’s you’ve ever had. As you mull over the events of tonight, you slide under the blankets, laying back and staring at the ceiling. The shuffling in your living room comes to a stop, and you can hear Wendell coming back to your room. He stops in the doorway.
“Came back to say goodnight,” he says softly, making your heart melt.
“You mind staying for a while?” You sit up, looking at him. He glances over his shoulder at you, a perplexed expression plastered on his face. “What?! I’ve had a rough night,” you say, pretending to be offended. He makes his way over, laying on your bed, on top of the blankets. You roll over and face him, looking up at him lazily. “Goodnight, Wendell.”
You drift off to sleep fairly quickly, but not before you subconsciously lay your head on his chest. He’s terrified at first, frozen in place and afraid to breathe, but after a few minutes he collects himself and calms down. You sleep soundly, curled up beside Wendell. He’s warm and he smells good, and he’s pretty comfortable. By the morning, the two of you are completely intertwined, tangled in blankets and each others’ arms.
The two of you grab a greasy breakfast (and some Advil) and spend the day together, actually talking about what happened the night before. Most of the day is spent at your place, you and Wendell lounging around on your couch as you binge watch your favourite series and try to overcome your hangover.
The next days and weeks fly by, you and Wendell getting closer and closer. The pair of you go on a few dates before things are made official, Wendell going as far as taking you on a walk in the snow and officially asking you out by the outdoor rink. He even reserved ice time so the two of you could skate around like idiots and pass a puck around.
And eventually, when people start to see you’re together, and ask about your story, you have to tell them he bailed you out of jail after Galantine’s gone wrong.

Corrupted Albedo x reader
Requested by: Aru/Haru(~‾▿‾)~
A/n: I don't usually make angst..(because i suck at it) but i will try my best and (i suck at writing fight scene too.. but i will try my best). I also will tweak some stuff so it may not be 100% true.
Tumblr media
WARNING:
mention of blood, bruise, overall a pretty dark war below..(in my opinion) Please look away if you're uncomfortable or trigger a dark memories.
Half of the Mondstat is a wreck, everything is a mess, covered by blood and Destruction all over. The overwhelming massive power is becoming too much to handle, causing normal humans immune system to slow down as alot of damage started to appear on their body because of the monsters
The red mist covered the whole windrise, springvale and whispering wood as heartless monsters destroy and hurt every living creature they see. The dark sky didn't help the slightest either as it seems like even the sky is against us.
Your body is covered with scars, bruise and blood as you grip your sword harder. Dead and heavily injured body is pooling on the ground in front of you. The screams and despair cries engulf Mondstat.
"Barbatos guide us!".
A hoarse shout from Jean was heard and a breeze of wind flows through you body as your body slowly heals.
"We can do it!".
Barbara shout as she tried her best to heal everyone and hold of the monsters, worries and a pool of tears threatened to fall from her eyes.
"H-help...".
A little voice was heard, you tore your eyes from a certain bright dark red light from behind the mist.
One of the leg of a man was stuck under a rock that one of the monster throw. You instantly run to get him as his body slowly getting engulf by the red mist.
"Y/n! Stay there! I'll help him!".
Noelle shout's, you looked at her in worried as a tear that you didn't even realize was there fall from your eyes but proceed to listen to her anyway. In order to save everyone you need to stop the cause.
Albedo.
You put up a shield around Mondstat, trying to hold everyone safe inside the shield but your geo shield crumbles down instantly when a festering desire sword hit the shield.
The sword that was supposed to be used by Aether has been thrown at the shield.. that means.. where is Aether? He is in danger-! Your breathing gets heavier than before knowing your dearest friend, Aether is in deep danger.
"Where are you going y/n?!".
Diluc shout when he notice you started picking up your pace and running towards the mist but you didn't stop, you keep running and running. Before your whole body is drowned by the sea of mist you stopped and looked back at your friends with tears and determined smile on your face.
"Hang in there!".
Is all you said before you run deep inside the mist, ignoring the calls from people.
"Y/n-! Ugh"
"Kaeya!"
Kaeya was about to run to take you to a safer place but a monster scratch his arm. Venti release his ultimate power, sucking all the monster away from Kaeya as Venti immediately bring Kaeya to heal afterhe shout towards you.
"BE SAFE Y/N". Venti said you just keep running inside the mist. Your leg is aching, how many scars you have now? You don't know and you don't care. Albedo is the only thing you cared. The source to stopped this hideous fight.
I'm sorry
You thought, directing your apologies to your family and friends. gripping your sword harder you slash through the monster left and right, wanting everything to get over with.. wanting a bright future for Mondstat there's so much thing to be discovered and you cannot let the dreams and your friends die. Not now. not ever. As long as you're alive.
When you're inside the mist nothing makes sense, you almost lost your way as monsters coming for you from every side. the only thing guiding you is the bright red light that you detect as a light that erupts from Albedo's corrupted body.
as a bright red light starting to get closer and closer to your eye sight. Your eyes widened, the horrific sight in front of you. Albedo is slowly levitating upwards, bringing Aether by his neck.
"AETHER!".
Aether grip Albedo's veiny wrist as a light emerge from Aether's hand meaning he is slowly purifying Albedo.
A wave of burn suddenly rush throughout Albedo's corrupted body. He suddenly opened his grip on Aether, without wasting anytime you instantly rushed to aether, letting you a geo shield that pushes Albedo backwards a little bit.
You glance backwards to Aether, he slowly stood up, coughing trying to gain the oxygen back to his lungs. You stab your sword to the ground as a geo shield went around you and Aether.
"MoVe Y/n".
Albedo said. You look up at him, eyes wide. If he really is corrupted all the way how can he still know you. You shake your head, staying strong to protect Aether.
"Y/n...".
Aether whisper, looking at you with sadness. You must've felt pain to hurt Albedo, the man you love so much and he is right but for Mondstat and for Albedo himself. You are determined to save both Albedo and Mondstat.
You pulled out a bracelet from your pocket and throw it to Aether.
"Aether.. can you focus your purify energy to this bracelet? If we put this on Albedo he won't be able to get it of".
Once you put this bracelet down on Albedo's wrist he won't be able to pull it out and if Aether fill that bracelet with Aether's purify energy, maybe.. maybe We can save him. You look back to the hurting Aether and whisper to him.
"I'll hold him and you'll purify him okay".
You whisper, Aether nod as you looked back to the now growling Albedo. Albedo released a spear like weapon out of red light and throw them at you. You run out of your shield and dodge them by jumping from one weapon yo another.
Finally reaching Albedo you grab his hair and pulled it as he falls down along with you. You summon a chain out of geo from the ground and hold Albedo by his neck as tears running down your face.
"I'm sorry this will hurt".
You whisper as you felt Aether run and snapped the bracelet on Albedo's wrist. A loud Pained shout was heard from Albedo as he trashed around the chain and dirt. You hold Albedo's hand, pinning it to the ground on one side as Aether held the other.
The veins on Albedo's body slowly fading out as a heavy breathing was heard from him. Slowly but surely his breathing goes down as his red and black eyes slowly closed.
"A-albedo?".
You call out, removing your hand from Albedo's hand, summoning away your geo chain and looked at Aether. You were about to say something when all of the sudden the red mist surrounding you is slowly disappearing. In your mind there's only one thing.
Albedo has been lifted from the darkness.
His dark power is fading away. You turn your gaze back to Albedo and Aether. Albedo slowly sits up, holding his head with a groan. You and Aether cannot hide your excitement so you both just rushed to him, hugging Albedo tightly.
"Y-y/n... A-aether?".
He whispered after seeing your faces. Years of joy is running down your bloody faces. Shout's was heard and a bunch of foot hitting the ground.
"Albedo!"
Shout's from Sucrose, Kaeya, Diluc and the others filled Albedo's ear. He looked around the place.. Everything is filled with bodies, people crying in pain, loosing their loved ones.
Albedo look at his hand.. he did it.. he hurt Mondstat.. he is a monster. Tears are pooling on the corner of his eyes, no one saw Albedo cried until now as a regretful and despair sob comes from Albedo's mouth as his Sobbing gets louder and louder.
Albedo's body is trembling as he looked down to his hand. He suddenly felt a hand, one by one hugging him, without him realizing Sucrose, Venti, Jean followed by Lisa, Barbara and Noelle hugs Albedo.
"I-i-i'm so-sorry-! I didn't mean-".
"It's okay".
Jean assured him.
"We will find a way to fix this mess".
And with that the sky slowly clears out, Albedo's bracelet is locking away all his curse. The sun started to set as you guys bask in eachother's presence Albedo, being basked in the warmth and reassurance from his friend.. and his beloved y/n makes him calm for a little while. Mondstat will never be the same after this, the damage and the event still lingers.
From there Albedo worked 10x harder to find a way to revive people. Albedo asked and beg for the dead to be froze so when the time comes, he will be able to restore them back to life.
Some people forgive Albedo, some people sill hates him.. wich is understandable, some people never really think it's his fault but either way the only thing you care about is that Albedo is safe.. even if he hurts you.. even if he tries to kill you.. you'll still love him with all your heart.

A Hero Is Born (Red Shark/Sand Au)
Summary: After being dismissed by Guanyin after centuries under their teaching, Red arrived at the city to live a normal life, hiding his identity and powers. He has spent four years in the city and works at Culinary Cicada, content with how he is now. He didn’t expect his life to change one day.
A/N: Finally got this done. There are going to be rarepairs but aren’t the main focus for this chapter so I didn’t tag it. Sun Wukong’s alias is Sun Hàoyú 昊瑜 meaning “vast and limitless excellence.” Zhu Bajie’s alias is Zhu Xiùliàng 秀亮 meaning “refined light.” Sorry if these aren’t good aliases. I know Sha Wujing’s staff can’t control water, but in this au, it can. He learned how to do that after the journey. Also I want to say thank you all my anons and others who put in ideas for this au! It made it really fun! Anyway enjoy!

Red would admit he didn’t care much for the legends as other people did. He had been a small part of those legends so they weren’t extraordinary to him (not that he had revealed that information to anyone).
But Mr. Sun and Tang always loved to talk about them, especially the latter, so he listened to the elders. Today was one of those days. A special day that would change his life forever.
“The thing you need to understand, bud, is that the old legends are never finished. While there may be no pages left to turn, there is always more. Years ago, the Spider Queen and her army attacked. No one could stop them, no one except… Sha Wujing. Using his crescent moon spade, he trapped the Spider Queen under a mountain. He made it so no one else could wield it and he trapped her forever.”
“With the battle won, Sha Wujing… disappeared and was never seen again. It is said that the spade remains there, preventing our world from being destroyed. Because of him, civilization was able to prosper into the awesome world we see today. All thanks to Sha Wujing!”
Red hummed as he leaned against the counter. “That’s cool I guess.”
Mr. Sun scoffed. “Just cool? You know how many people would love that story?”
“I’m just not that impressed by it.”
“How dare you. You always react to the stories that way. Thought that one would bring more excitement.”
“Well, I’m not your audience. You’re not putting on a play for me.”
“At least you listen anyway.”
“That I do. I do think Sha Wujing is more impressive than say the Sun Wukong or Zhu Bajie.” At least he didn’t attack him as much as the others.
Sun appeared as if he was offended by the statement. “He is impressive… I like the Monkey King better,” he muttered. “Anyway, you know the deal. One peach soup.”
“Yea, yea. You got it.” He attempted to pass the bowl but it was quickly taken away by Tang.
“Not so fast. You left out so many details, Hàoyú. No extensive details of how he defeated the Spider Queen? He’s a hero! He deserves a better explanation than that.”
With an eye roll, Hàoyú responded, “Whatever.” He made grabby hands at the bowl. “Can I have my soup now?”
“No. You’re a scholar, tell the story accurately or I might go to your rival.” Sun huffed at the mention. “I could do better, better than those stupid depictions of Sha Wujing, no one can really capture his handsomeness, huh?” He cleared his throat, the small blush on his cheeks fading away. “Anyway, Red, you have orders to take out. Get to it!”
“I was about to take my break.”
“Break? You've been taking a break all morning. How is Culinary Cicada supposed to flourish if you’re slacking off?”
He began pushing Red, rumpling the other’s lotus print shirt. He shoved takeout bags in his hands then sent him out. The human heard a slurp behind him. He spun around to see Sun had stolen the soup back. Furrowing his brows, he suggested, “How about you tell an actually good and detailed story about Sha Wujing and you keep the bowl?”
“You just love hearing about your crush. Alright, it’s a deal.”
————
Red entered an abandoned construction site, whistling a tune under their breath and focusing on their phone. He paused when he heard a voice. “It’s amazing that you’ve finally done it! Are you ready, you two?”
A nasally voice replied, “For the last time, Goliath, we’re almost done.”
“Sorry, Syntax! I’m just so excited!”
“You can’t blame uncle Goliath’s excitement, dad.”
“Hmph. Well, try to hold it in for a bit longer.”
The demon hid behind some rocks. He spotted three spiders and a human surrounding a mountain.
One spider towered over the group, he fiddled with his fingers nervously, indicating that despite being the giant, he was probably the most gentle one out there.
Another had his hands behind his back, tapping his feet impatiently.
The third was tinkering with an invention, a device strapped to his back. The human was beside the third, he had a purple bandanna with two green marks, almost like eyes, wrapped around his forehead and a black coat with white fur.
“Because of you two, we can lift Sha Wujing’s spade!”
Red moved higher up and looked at the glowing object. The duck beside him quacked out of surprise. What was a duck doing here? Whatever. It wasn’t important.
“Sha Wujing’s spade,” he whispered.
“The spider clan will be restored!” Goliath’s shoulders briefly bounced up in surprise. “Huh?”
Huntsman was on top of the mountain and started reaching for the weapon. “Huntsman,” Syntax yelled. “Don’t do that!”
“Whatever, nerd.” He gripped it and instantly got zapped by it which sent him crashing into a wall.
Syntax stood over him. “Idiot. This is the hundredth time you’ve tried this. You think you would have learned your lesson by now. We’ve clarified that he made it so only someone worthy would wield it.”
“Which is why we have this.” The human gestured to the power glove. “Don’t worry. I’ve got this.”
“Hmph, brat.”
“Go ahead, Xiaotian.” Syntax pulled Huntsman up, their cheeks becoming green for the slightest second before they focused on the kid.
Xiaotian strolled up to the weapon and pulled on it with the glove. Sparks danced until he was able to rip it off. He held it high in the air and shouted in triumph, “Look at what I did!” Goliath and Syntax applauded him while Huntsman huffed.
“I could have done it,” he mumbled.
Xiaotian went back up to his family with a smile and waited a second before asking, “Wait, why isn’t anything happening? Are you three sure this is the right mountain?”
Syntax scoffed. “No, Xiaotian, I think it’s the other one.”
The mountain rumbled and cracked in the center. The Spider Queen destroyed it and crawled out with a cackle. “I’ve returned! The queen is back!”
Red’s eyes widened. Oh no. The queen was free. What should he do?
The duck pecked his hands as he was pondering. “Hey!” He attempted to shoo the duck away. “Shoo! It’s rude to peck at people’s hands!”
The four bowed to her with heads hung low, the human placed the crescent moon spade aside. “My queen,” Huntsman started. “We’re glad to have you free.”
“My clan,” she cried. “Wait, where are the rest of you?”
“I’m sorry. We’re some of the few spiders left.”
The Queen’s fist clenched, her happy tone at being freed slipped away. “I see. It’s all Sha Wujing’s fault. Now introductions are in order for the new members.”
“Well, there’s me, Huntsman. Then there’s Goliath and…”
“I can introduce myself, brute. I’m Syntax, my lady, and this is my son, Qi Xiaotian.”
If Red wasn’t so focused on the situation, he would have thought, Son? Those two look nothing alike.
“Son?” Her majesty questioned.
“Yes, he is my biological son. I wasn’t born a spider but I would say those details are for another time.”
“Alright. How did you all manage to free me?”
The human stepped forward with a spring in his step. “I did it, my queen! I managed to harness its power to make it our-” Her majesty loomed with a glare. Xiaotian nervously chuckled. “Our power,” he finished.
With a scoff, the queen congratulated him reluctantly, “Good job… for a human.”
Ignoring the human comment, he beamed. “Thank you! Now, we, the Spider clan, can rule the world!”
The duck continued to peck at the demon. The demon flapped a hand to get rid of the sting while the bird focused on the other one and made him fall right onto Qi Xiaotian.
Red held up the bag of food. “Hey… did someone order food?”
Huntsman and Syntax stared at Goliath. “What? I didn’t order anything.”
Xiaotian shoved him. “Get off me, dumbass! You ruined my moment!”
Spider Queen focused on the intruder. “Well, well, we’ll, an eavesdropper has fallen into our midst. It’s a shame to crush such a tiny, insignificant thing like you as my first act but, oh, what can you do?” She was about to crush them when she was interrupted.
“Wait, my queen.”
Ugh, the human. She rubbed her face. “Yes?”
“You don’t have to waste your energy. I’ll handle it! Allow me to prove myself!”
“Fine. Go ahead.”
Red muttered, “Maybe I can go now.”
“You’re fortunate, grocery boy. It’s not every day someone is crushed by the Spider Clan! You should consider yourself-”
The demon’s ears picked up a sound, his gaze drifted to the staff. “Sha Wujing’s staff,” a voice whispered.
Xiaotian growled, “You’re not listening! I, Qi Xiaotian, will not be disrespected! You’re toast!”
The human attempted to punch him with the glove but he blocked it… blocked it with the crescent moon staff. Fuck. “How did you?”
How did he? He could have used his fire to block it. Why didn’t he? Well, his identity was a secret and he barely used his fire since he became Guanyin’s disciple so that was understandable. But to grab the staff, what was he thinking?
“That’s scientifically impossible,” Syntax said.
“I don’t understand what’s happening but I don’t care. That’s ours!”
“I was supposed to be on my break! Dang it, Mr. Tang!” The weapon activated and whacked the human and the spiders (save the queen) away.
“This can’t be,” her majesty muttered in disbelief.
“That was not what I expected.”
Huntsman hissed, “That doesn’t belong to you. Give it to us!”
“Ummmm… no?” Then suddenly he was launched into the air by the weapon. “AHHHHHH!”
“He can’t leave with the damn thing!”
“I was trapped under a mountain and suddenly, a thief takes it!”
Xiaotian bowed. “Allow me, your majesty. I won’t fail again.”
“Fine! Go!”
The human grabbed his technological staff and made off in his motorcycle to give chase.
-------
Red took in deep breaths to calm himself down as he landed on the ground. Xiaojiao snapped a picture of herself with her sword and motorcycle outfit. During the picture, she used her magic to create sparkles. “Nailed it!” She pocketed her phone and put the sword away.
“Xiaojiao!”
“That was a cool game of tag! You looked like you were having fun! I wanted to join in too!”
“I almost died.”
“But you didn’t! We should go to the arcade! Invite your new friend!”
“He was trying to kill me.”
Her face turned dark. “Where does he live? I’ll handle him.”
“Red Son! Where are you?” Tang stormed up to them. He showed his phone to reveal a zero-star rating. “I got a zero-star rating because of you. Would you like to explain yourself?”
“I think what happened is-”
Xiaojiao giggled. “Congrats, Tang! It’s better than nothing!”
“No, it isn’t! You know you would be in trouble if this happened to my magic shop, missy. Now, Red, you’re-” Tang searched around. “Where did he go?”
Red slipped past him. “Mr. Sun!”
“Hey! Come back here!”
Ignoring him, the demon ran into the shop. “Mr. Sun!”
Hàoyú was in the middle of his bowl. “Yea?”
“So, remember the story you told me this morning? About the Spider Queen?”
Tang and Mei followed him. “Red, we weren’t done talking.”
“Yea, that’s great, Mr. Tang.”
Sun sipped his soup, completely disinterested. “Yea? What about her?”
Red got close to his face. “She’s back! Sha Wujing’s staff was removed! We have to find him! He has to save-”
Sun pushed him back and held his bowl protectively. “You’re getting spit in my soup. Calm down. Who knew that would be the story you get wrapped up in? Relax, it’s just a story.”
“It’s not just a story.” He showed the spade. Hàoyú pursed his lips, contemplating the possibility or holding back from saying something snarky, Red wasn’t sure.
“Wow, Red, you found a stick!”
“No! It belongs to Sha Wujing!” The three burst into laughter. Red growled, his fists briefly flamed but no one noticed except him. “Listen to me! The Spider Queen is out there. I’ll prove this belongs to Sha Wujing.”
Sun raised a brow. “Okay. How?”
“Ummm…” The spade wobbled, it grew then stabbed part of the wall, causing a crack before shortening.
Sun gasped and he was about to get a closer look when Tang pushed him away. Tang grabbed the arm holding the spade and hoisted it up towards the sky. His eyes twinkled. “Sha Wujing’s spade! I knew it! His awesome weapon that he used to seal evil! Wait… why do you have it? And where is the queen now?”
“She’s at a fashion store,” Mei responded.
“What?!”
“I hope this isn’t one of your puppy videos, young lady.”
“There’s always time for a puppy video, Tangy, but no. Look at what’s trending. Hashtag Spider Queen!” She showed a video of the Spider Queen robbing a fashion store with Qi Xiaotian. The queen used some device to absorb a one-of-a-kind item.
Tang panicked when the video ended. “Okay! We have to do something! Get in the truck!” He shoved them in the truck while they shouted out of surprise.
The group yelped as Tang drove like a madman through the streets. They were squished in the car, Red rasped out, “This is a little uncomfortable.”
“Tang! Can you slow down? You’re going to kill us,” Mr. Sun told him. He couldn’t die but he knew it would be unfortunate if the group got into a crash.
“Yea. We need to get to Sha Wujing without getting injured in a crash.”
“Guys! The Spider Queen moved downtown! She’s destroying the mall!”
“We need to get to Sha Wujing fast. The only problem is we have no idea how to get there.”
“Ugh, you’re right. How do we get there? Do we just keep driving?” Tang asked in a frantic tone.
Mr. Sun replied, “Well, if you would have let me talk before you pushed us in here. I know someone who could get us there!”
“Really?”
“Yep! An old friend of mine. The greatest, excellent, glorious Zhu Xiùliàng. Now drive there, Tang!”
“Drive where?”
“Uhhhh… oh, yea, you need directions.”
-------
The group watched kids climb on the tall pig like a jungle gym while others were in the corner conversing or doing other activities. Wukong had a big grin on his face at the scene.
Xiùliàng chuckled and cautioned, “Careful, little ones.” He gently put them down, they frowned and he reassured them, “You can play later. Grandpa has to talk to these people first.” They reluctantly agreed and began breaking away to do their own things.
Sun blushed as the light hit Xiùliàng in a way that illuminated his beauty. Tang whispered to him with a smirk, “Oh, now I know why you brought us here.”
Xiaojiao teased, “Wow, Mr. Sun. We have to save the world and here you are trying to pick up a guy. I see you.” Sun shot them both a glare.
The pig didn’t hear them, he instead focused on beaming at the kids as they walked away. A hand was placed on his hips and he turned to the group with a “Sorry about that. That’s a lot to take in.”
“It most certainly is, old friend. I was hoping something like this wouldn’t happen,” he muttered.
“I was hopin’ that too,” Xiùliàng muttered back. A child with black hair tied up in braids and a blue headband with a flower ran up to the pig with a drawing in hand. “What is it, Yǎshuǐ?” He picked her up so she rested on her arm.
“I made you a drawing, grandpa!” She waved it in front of the pig’s face then looked towards the group. Her eyes briefly widened in surprise before she gave a wave. “Hi, yéyé!”
“Hi, hon,” he greeted.
“Oooo, yéyé. Didn’t know you had grandkids with him,” he teased. “Why didn’t you invite me to your wedding and why didn’t the paparazzi cover it?”
“Shut up, Tang. It’s for respect, you know that.”
“Mhmm…”
Red shook his head. “Disregarding Mr. Sun’s love life,” he murmured. “Mr. Zhu, we need your help to find Sha Wujing.”
Xiaojiao got on her knees, bringing her friend down with her and pleaded, “Yea, we could really use your help.”
Red sighed. “Please help us. The fate of the world is at stake.”
“Alright,” he answered. “Really?”
“Of course. Anything for Sun.” The two cheered. “I’ll just drop these kids off then we’ll go.”
“WOOOOO!”
------
Tang hummed as he walked along the path, trying to contain his excitement. “See, this isn’t that bad,” he said then a trap sprung out of nowhere. “Eep! Never mind! Stupid Sun, stupid Zhu, why did we let them stay behind?”
“Because you said they could.”
“Careful, Tangy. I wonder why Sha Wujing chose to live here.”
“I don’t know. Good thing it isn’t Sun Wukong’s home or we would have to go pass the Flaming Mountains. They actually had to borrow my m- Princess Iron Fan’s fan to-”
A cackle came out of nowhere. Syntax appeared. “If it isn’t you three.” Syntax used the glove to pound at the ground, sending it up.
“Hey! Be careful, kids!”
“I’ll be taking that spade.”
Red held the weapon up. “This is Sha Wujing’s. You are not taking it.”
“You’re just a bunch of broken metal, can’t even make anything useful.” “What? Oh, whatever.” He charged at the spider who caught the spade with glove.
He was launched and heard the distant cry of “RED” as he blacked out.
------
The demon woke up on Sha Wujing’s mountain. “I’m… I’m here?” He stood up and started walking. He spotted a house and peeked inside but found no one so he continued onwards. There was a handmade statue of Tripitaka and Sha Wujing. “Wow.”
The sound of a twig snapping caught his attention. He saw the very person he was looking for glancing at him with a frown. “Huh?” Then the figure ran off.
He followed quickly and reached a river, a single fish. “A fish?” The fish jumped out of the water, a blue light surrounded it. “Ack!” The older demon appeared. “Sha Wujing?”
“It’s been a long time, Red Son or should I say, Red Boy?”
“You know it’s me?”
“You literally just switched the Boy to Son. No shit. Surprise your little friends haven’t figured it out yet.”
“Yea, I haven’t told them yet.”
“I know. Anyway, where’s my spade?”
“Oh… ummm… I’m sorry! I lost it. I was trying to bring it to you and-”
Wujing laughed. “I know. I’ve been watching you.”
“What?” He flashed back to some of the animals he saw. “That was you?”
“Yep. I need something of you, kid. I need you to be my successor.”
“What? Are you sure? Has your brain short circuited?”
“No,” he replied annoyed. “My brain is fine. You’re going to be my successor. Look you came all this way and were fine.”
“Because I’m a demon!”
“Regardless of that, you still made your way here and you’re experienced in fighting. Be a hero.”
“What about the Spider Queen?”
“What about the Spider Queen? Take it as a trial or a warmup.”
“But I-” He sighed, he was hoping he could lead a normal life but he supposed he had no other choice especially since the elder had no intent on helping. The elder was changed, certainly different from the demon who was considered more calm and rational.
Sha Wujing grunted. “What are one of those bullshit quotes I can give you? Oh, right. Believe in yourself and you’ll be fine. The spade was taken from you! Get it back!”
“Alright!” He zoomed off.
Wujing whispered, “Hope this makes you happy, master.”
-------
Xiaojiao was about to use her powers when Red Son crash landed. Red dusted himself off.
“Kid,” Tang yelled.
“Red,” Xiaojiao shouted. “You’re alive! We saw you blast off! We thought something happened to you! Where did you get the jet? You crashed it already! Did you find Sha Wujing?”
“Yep!”
Tang questioned as he looked around frantically, “Where is he?”
“He said it’s up to me, to all of us.” Sun and Zhu exchanged glances.
“What?”
“That’s anticlimactic.”
“How are we meant to fight that?” Sun motioned to the Spider Queen’s humongous form.
“We believe in ourselves. You clean the streets while I stop her… somehow.”
“The jet would have been useful.” She kicked the broken pieces and a speed bike was revealed.
“That works.”
“You can do it, pal!”
Red drove off and approached the queen. “If isn’t the thief trying to ruin my big moment.”  She attempted to squish him when he dodged with the bike.
“Where is it? Where is it?” He squinted at the device the queen had been using to absorb objects, the spade rested in the middle. “Here goes nothing.” He ran into it.
Xiùliàng covered the group. “I’ve won! The clan has been restored!” She stumbled. “Huh?” Red emerged with the weapon. “Sha Wujing?”
“Nope. Just Red.” Red punched her. Spider Queen tried to blast them, they dodged with taunts, “Nice try! You missed! Almost!” They pushed her down with the spade then used it to cut half of a building. “Here we go!”
As he was about to trap her, the Queen roared, “I won’t let this happen again!” She destroyed it, the younger demon was sent backwards. “Sorry, doll. Good luck trying to trap me again. I AM THE QUEEN!” Red’s gaze shot towards a body of water. “You might have that idiot’s staff but you are not Sha Wujing!”
“No, I’m not. I’m Red, his successor!” He lifted the spade up, water swirled around it and he sent it to attack the queen. “It’s time for your reign of terror to end!”
The queen gasped and her powers waned, she turned back to her normal form. “That’s impossible!”
“Nothing is impossible if you believe.” Xiaotian raged, “This isn’t over! You wouldn’t be so mighty with your precious powers, sand boy! Come fight me!”
Red was about to do when a web entangled him. The three spiders showed themselves. “Nice try. We know when to leave the party. We’ll see you,” Huntsman said. Syntax threw a smoke bomb and they disappeared.
The group cut Red free. “You can’t run when I’m about to win! Hmph.”
His friend hugged him. “You kicked SQ’s butt! Without us the city would be toast.”
“I couldn’t have done it on my own.”
Xiùliàng hugged them. “You did.”
“You’re the new Sha Wujing now I guess.”
“I’m proud of you, Red,” Tang said. He was proud of his kid but he couldn’t understand why Sha Wujing had chosen to hand his weapon to a random kid. He’ll think about it later. “I’m really proud.”
“What do we do now?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” Red perked up. “Yea! We could bring justice to the world! Go after bad guys!”
Sun suggested, “Or we could eat.”
“Let’s go with that.”
The group discussed their recent adventure while Sha Wujing watched from a building. He frowned, shifted to a duck and flew off.

→ “nO listen i can help you out her-”
→ he thought about it for a quick second and thought that your relationship was in a good place so just flat out said “i’m seeing someone already”
→ atsumu: surprised pikachu face “wait fr FR??”
→ he was just in shock tbh LOL
→ kita’s confidence 📈📈
→ then the whole team kinda just gathered around
→ kita: “yeah. i’ve been seeing them for a few months”
→ ofc the team was happy for him. maybe a few teases here and there but yuh<3
→ atsumu was still >:O what
→ a few days passed and he had asked you if you wanted to meet the team
→ you agreed and were super pumped. he loved his team like i said earlier though, on the DOWNLOW
→ when you met them, they were very polite and respectful
→ it felt a little weird tbh SHSJJS
→ but nope here comes atsumu “have you two really been dating for so long?”
→ kita: “yes..??”
→ “oh. well, hi i’m atsumu! :) how is kita? like you know-?”
→ he teases you two about dating but is rooting for it
→ the first time meeting everyone was a little awkward but then everyone warmed up to you
→ like they became used to you coming to practice and would occasionally ask kita “how’s (y/n)?”
→ basically, you help kita with his captain duties and the team really appreciates you <3
bokuto
Tumblr media
→ being captain, the team is like his family
→ so it’s barely a few days into your relationship and he’s like “you should come to one of our practices!!”
→ and he’s bouncing up and down as he mentions it
→ “i’ll show you all of my cool moves-OH you can see how we do this thing ca-”
→ yeahhh you couldn’t say no
→ the team didn’t even know he was dating someone, he wanted to surprise everyone
→ so when you randomly showed up to practice with your bf, they were just “??? bokuto who is this ???”
→ there were stars in his eyes and he had this huge smile, “MY S/O! :DD”
→ the team is very welcoming. they’re just caught off guard because they’re lowkey thinking “how did bokuto manage to hop into a relationship he’s basically a baby-”
→ they’re a little quiet at first but then warm up to you. then it’s just wild
→ well bokuto gets wild..
→ bokuto: “HEY HEY- (Y/N) DID YOU SEE THAT?”
→ he 100% goes tryhard for you
→ the team notices this.. THEY TEASE HIM
→ they wouldn’t stop so he went into emo mode for a few minutes
→ you: “is he?? okay??”
→ akaashi: “oh yeah, he gets like this. bokuto weakness #7-”
→ akaashi lowkey becomes your wingman even though he denies it
→ he teaches you whatever ‘weaknesses’ bokuto has that you might need to know
→ bokuto also talks to akaashi about you a lot after you meet so you become besties at practices
→ if he starts acting like a baby while playing a match, you know how to calm him down or cheer him up
→ and then he plays 10x better
→ but yeah the team really likes you because you know how to control bokuto hsjsjhs
→ when bokuto adds you to the vbc groupchat, that’s when you become good friends with the team
→ like it’ll occasionally blow up at midnight when you send a tiktok lol
