Also anime discourse is literally a nightmare bc number one nobody understands Shonen isn't just boy action anime and shojo isn't just girly romance anime like those are really really broad categories and there is Shonen romance and action anime like Banana Fish is literally a shojo and number two the audience for Shonen really acts like its either just men watching saying it's boy stuff no girl should ever comment on or it's women watching so they can go on about anime guys more and people always go on about shojo like it's this haven for girls to talk about girl stories more and that's not untrue to an extent but also the girl stuff the audience wants to talk about is just liking men and the Yuri community can't get anywhere bc everyone is busy fighting over 'Yuri baiting' and whether or not stories that are blatantly Yuris are 'real' Yuri and hold it to standards that literally nobody does with yaoi and God forbid you imply there is Yuri happening in a Shonen or a shojo bc the audience of both of those act like stories about women who like women need shuffled off into a sub category to be real Yuri the hell loop goes on

Dw OP, EYE get you. They could’ve explored that and then they have Baela who is seemingly not affected by anything but actually fighting to be seen as composed as her grandmother was and as composed as she remembered her mother was because she fears that because of her fathers fuck ups she can’t make a mistake or else they might think she is supporting him and wants to usurp Rhaenyra so she HAS to be perfect. Not knowing her grandmother had years to practice composure, as did her mother, so she doesn’t have to be perfect. So now you have her grappling with Jace who, at this point, could do the worst thing and his mother would never publicly doubt he supports her and Rhaena is far away so Baela’s the only one of Daemon’s blood left who could be seen as trying to sabotage the Queen, and maybe she has a little resentment and envy that her sister is sent away and her fiancé, being the queen‘s own blood, gets to throw tantrums, just take off and disobey orders, but she still loves them both so much
