why did Sunday asked If aventurine wanted to destroy the world it's kinda random

sunday uses the interrogation scene to feel out aventurine's motivations; but he also uses it to take out his own anger on someone he can punch down on. aventurine was opportunistic enough to capitalise on robin's death, and use it as a tool to further the ipc's agenda—but he is not the murderer, which is something sunday knows as well. the interrogation scene is sunday toying with aventurine as well as confirming his plans.

why then does sunday specifically ask aventurine if he wants to destroy the world? it's because the armour-piercing questions sunday asks aventurine are actually very much applicable to sunday himself, the interrogation scene is a study in how sunturine mirror each other. (this is one of the reasons behind the question, but there's another as well that i lay out under the cut)

(1) do you love your family more than you love yourself & (2) do you hate and wish to destroy this world; are questions sunday has probably asked himself now that he's in a situation where robin, the one Family member he really loves, is apparently dead. the double meaning of this world: encompassing the universe in general and penacony in specific.

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR 2.1 UNDERNEATH;

finally, when sunday confronts gallagher at the very end of the quest, he specifies that he already knew what aventurine wanted to do as soon as he "walked out of the doors of the mansion" [the line below is a mistranslation]. basically, the objective reason as to why sunday asked the "destroy the world?" question was as a way to feel out what aventurine's underlying plan was: to use acheron to break the dreamscape and fall into the true penacony himself.

In light of recent events, I wondered what people thought about the Anya fanart controversy. I don't have a solid opinion and I was curious about the thoughts of others. Anya is an adult woman, however, the game revolves around her SA. Making big booty elf fanart seems rather tone-deaf when looking at the themes, but the fandom also has a tendency to boil her existence down to her assault alone. 

Anya is a victim, but that is not her only quality. We don't spend much time with her, but we know that she is kind, intelligent, determined, and considerate with hopes and dreams of being a nurse. She is not a child, and she has her own desires, but I also see why this is a sensitive subject because her assault is the most significant element of the game.

I feel most people who argue about this stuff are young and tend to assign moral quality based on Twitter arguments. I am assuming the artist is young as well, which doesn't help the situation. It's a waste of breath to argue and/or attack people based on their opinions because they are not likely to change their minds based on random people on the internet.

Different people have access to the same media across the world, so I'm not surprised this has happened. I feel it's wrong to romanticize her assault, but a teen drawing big booty elf anime titty fanart because they think she is pretty isn't the same thing. I get how it is tone-deaf, but it is not equal. 

I feel like there is an extreme thought process that infantilizes her and one that romanticizes her assault. When younger people attach to mature media, they tend to assign people to certain extremes. I was wondering what others thought about this.

I'm so glad you asked this! I actually have a few people I love to deliver to, and I couldn't choose one, so I'm gonna talk about each of them one by one!

Daisuke

Daisuke is one of my last deliveries of the day, and I usually have a tub full of packages just for him. Some days he has less than others, but he's always on his doorstep waiting for me to show up.

Anya

Anya is such a sweet woman. She's always looking after me every season. In the summer she offers me little snacks and gatorade, and during the winter she scolds me for not wearing a scarf. One year she actually bought me a scarf and hung it from her mailbox with a note saying that she'd better see me wearing it the next day.

Swansea

Swansea is a retired Postal Carrier, and he loves to come out just to talk to me when I'm on my route. He thinks up of all the overused jokes that he heard when he was delivering the mail and he tells me the same ones every single day. As annoying as that might sound to some carriers, I think it's sweet that the best part of the day for him is to tell me the same joke over and over again.

Jimmy

Jimmy is my childhood friend. He doesn't have a mailbox. Most carriers would skip his house because there isn't a place to put the mail, but I always knock on his door to give it to him. He's usually home... and he's usually drunk. @askdrunkjimmy

What was the future aventurine an illusion of the harmony or just his own mind making up ?

a bit of both i imagine! aventurine refers to his alt self as "newborn of the harmony", future!aventurine is definitely powered somehow by the brand sunday put on aventurine. at the same time, f!a knows things about aventurine only his own mind would know. imo that's what illusions of the harmony do, they take inspiration from your own mind, and use it to craft their illusions.

at any rate, i dont think you can fully call f!a a "fake", he is very real to aventurine, and by the end of the questline even offers him a measure of understanding. i especially liked it when f!a told aventurine to "say goodbye to the kid"—that part of aventurine's storyline involved reconciling his inner child and his own idea of his "future", and he comes out of it with a measure of peace that helps him accept what acheron tells him later.

"the answer has been with you, and is part of your journey"—and on that journey, aventurine encounters both his past and his future, finds the cornerstones jade and topaz lent him, opens ratio's note. future!aventurine AKA the illusion of the harmony is a personification of aventurine's jungian shadow, it has always been with him and is him; and by the very end, by walking into IX in a final gamble to survive no matter what, aventurine reconciles with his shadow.

because what was the armour-piercing question his shadow was always asking him throughout his journey through the amusement park? "why do you always take such risks while you gamble, for what purpose do you act this way"—and by finding the answer, which is, that life is still worth fighting for despite the pain and inevitability of the end; aventurine integrates with his shadow, completing his character arc and finding a measure of peace.
