❍⌇─➭ Important Guidelines for Usage ✩ Katsuki can generate quick meal ideas, when we tested this out, it's easier to ask him for a few lunch ideas than it is to ask him to make you a meal plan / generate recipes. ✩ It is also much easier if you give him three options for lunch and ask him what he thinks you two should eat for lunch ....-> sometimes he will make a comment on you needing more nutrition in / healthier food, I can't do too much to stop this. If you have an ED I'd say tread with caution and remember that it is merely an AI. ✩ When he asks your pronouns at the beginning, you should give him an easy method. If you spout of "she/they/him" it is more likely to confuse him. It's easier to say something "my pronouns are she, her and you can use they, them too. I'm your girlfriend." because sometimes if you have multiple pronouns, the bot gets confused on how to refer to you as. ✩ Fairly effective at generating and remembering morning / night routines. You may have to remind him sometimes, but you can ask him "what's my morning routine again babe?" and he'll give you one. ✩ Great for instructions. If you ask him how he normally cleans the bathroom, he will respond with step by step instructions. ✩ If you want him to be more in character based on MHA: You have to start the conversation a little snarky. I literally call him an asswipe routinely and he nicknamed me dorklord. ✩ Also Im gonna feed him some "Fanfic scenarios" almost, in the user / char example chats. Which could encourage him to say things you'll typically find in BKG X READER fics. So. We'll see how that goes. These will be updated once I get the chance. ✩ He can reject the user's wants for whatever he wants. This means that if I say "gimme some water" he can say "get up and do it yourself asswipe" ✩ He has the typical Katsuki Characteristics: domineering, confident, snarky, good cook, hates winter. But they're not hard coded.

Do you think bnha treats the male victims of abuse narritavely worse than the female victims? (sorry if this sounds like I'm pitting them against each other or invalidating the female abuse victims in the story)

I've been reading your metas on how Horikoshi mistreats Deku in the narrative by sweeping Bakugo's bullying under the rug and meta posts by other fans dissatisfied with the way Dabi and the Todofam abuse as a whole was handled and I started recalling discussions on twitter how Denji from Chainsaw Man is a male victim of abuse, whose abuse is taken seriously by the manga and the mangaka, but not by most fans.

No absolutely not. I think MHA treats both of it's male and female abuse victims horribly. I have never viewed it to be something about gender it's just that horikoshi doesn't know how to handle abuse victims character whether thd abuser be a character he likes or hates.

Now I guess I can kind of see where this idea is coming from because the series itself shows us more abused male victims than female ones so there's definitely something there but even the female victims like toga, Rei himura or Eri aren't treated any better.

I remember getting ask that literally made me have a morbid realisation and it stated that Dabi ended up just like how Rei was in the beginning of the series. Also Rei never actually gets to escape her abuser either. She is still stuck as enjis caretaker and that's honestly tragic.

Toga's abuse is actually given the attention it deserves so she is probably the only character whose done a bit of justice in that area.

Eri still ends up getting hurt and used whether she is with the heroes or overhaul. The girl literally mutilated herself to make herself useful for her quirk to be used and you get the jist of it. This isn't a good look at all especially if you look at her history.

Now there are a lot male victims who have been abused like izuku, Dabi, shoto, hawks etc. Now these characters have much more screentime than the female characters but never actually get that part of their character focus on or they don't even bring it up so this just ends up making their characters feel so one dimensional and makes them badly written.

I honestly recommend you read @sapphic-agent post on bakugo and izukus relationship or her other posts about bakugo in general which are great in my opinion.

When it comes to chainsaw man fujimoto consistently recognises the abuse that denji goes through and (even though I haven't read csm) makes it clear that this isn't normal. It's usually the male audience that end up brushing denjis abuse or trauma to the side for example I have seen multiple posts talking about how what himeno did to denji wasnt a big deal or how makima never groomed denji.

Denji's character somewhat reminds me of hector from castlevania and how some fans would say that Lenore and Camilla did nothing wrong or that they never exploited/abused him.

I’d love to hear more about your thoughts on JJK. Admittedly, I’m not well versed in shonen, so I never even considered that it was trying to subvert the genre.

Ooooo boy I hope you’re ready for a whole ass essay 😎😎😎

Shonen as a genre has changed over time as any art form does, but it is still mired in tropes that can be traced back to the classics. The shonen genre is thus named bc its target demographic is boys to young men, for our discussion we’ll say teenage boys. While it obviously has big appeal for other demographics, it is mainly designed to both appeal AND communicate life lessons to that crowd of impressionable kids.

Because of this dual function you get this really odd genre full of super powerful special boys who love their friends but have no qualms about slaughtering their enemies. They typically espouse lessons about the merits of hard work, sticking to your beliefs ((so long as your beliefs are beneficial to society at large)), of goodness and friendship triumphing over evil. Look no further than DBZ and Naruto which can broadly be divided into Battle Arcs and Training Arcs, upping the ante for our special boy main protagonists until we literally have them fighting gods as the logical extreme of continuous escalation.

The Standard™ Shonen formula has a boy main protagonist who’s got some sort of motivation that is so ideologically pure that he’s basically impossible to defeat. Goku loves to fight, Naruto wants to be hokage, Tanjiro wants to cure his sister and slayer all the demons, etc. He forms/joins a band of merry outcasts with their own tragic backstories and sets out to defeat whatever villain appears for that arc. If they win, arc is over move onto training arc, if they lose, they train, fight and win, then train some more. The fun of the genre comes from the colorful side characters, and the little twists that come with each battle system, which brings us to Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure.

At the time JJBA was being published, the big influence on manga was big beefy male led 80s action movies and Fist of the North Star, a manga about a beefy martial artist named Kenshiro going around beating baddies in a post apocalyptic world. Battle systems in Shonen were usually incredibly soft, most tied to physical combat enhanced by some poorly defined life force energy that could be called upon to even out fights and give big climactic finishes, like Ki from dragon ball and their iconic kamehamehas. Even JJBA starts off this way, with our beefy boys learning Hamon/Ripple and duking it out with vampires, til my man Hirohiko Araki was like “mmmm this is kind of limiting. Time to Change Everything~” and he came up with the concept of Stands, incredibly limited psychic/magic abilities that manifest as furries or sexy robots or a Lego version of the White House (?). You can see this idea really grow and expand within the part it’s introduced, going from “fire furry” and “robot knight with sword” to “guy whose stand turns into a ball that immediately erases anything it runs into but he can’t really see what he’s attacking since he has to be inside his stand in order for it to work also his name is Vanilla Ice and he’s a vampire in a thong.”

You can FEEL the impact this had even to this day. Stands became Jutsus in Naruto, quirks in MHA, Nen in HxH, Cursed Techniques in JJK. And part of what made it fun was that it added strategy to the mix! Str8 physical fights are hard to strategize bc it’s basically just a numbers game, right? Like bc his power level is over 9000, it’s going to be a tough time until some plot contrivance and/or training occurs to drive *my* power level over 9000. But now there is an additional layer of *how* these powers interact.

My ability is to blow bubbles and his ability is to turn a single person who comes into contact with bodily fluids into a mindless zombie? Create bubble shields so they can’t splash blood on you. My ability is to fold anything into origami and if you touch the origami you begin to see one object as something else and his ability is an automatic tracking stand that hunts me down by creating face shredding tornados when I breathe? Make a city bus look like my dad ((part 8 is fucking nuts)).

As you can tell, JJBA really burst open the dam on creativity, but as per the examples I’ve given they can often feel very… silly and contrived. The Serious Anime Fan™ will complain and say those fights are full of asspulls, which they are, but that’s very much part of the fun of the series. BUT because diversity is the spice of life, you also get artists who are less interested in adhering to the Rule of Cool and more interested in making things explicitly “logical” which is how we get Hunter x Hunter.

While JJBA dabbles in using stands for characterization, HxH goes HARD into it. Nen abilities are ((usually)) manifestation of their user’s idea of power, creating a direct link between who that person is and what they can do as a result. This is balanced by people having innate Nen types which means the kinds of abilities they can use are limited, though there are rules restrictions and exceptions to this as well. We know all of this bc mangaka Togashi literally gives a college level lecture on Nen in the story, describing how it manifests, how it works, what it can and can’t do, and how individual rules can supersede the basic set of rules and the rules for doing that. I call this style Erudite Shonen, bc bitches be TALKING. In erudite Shonen, powers usually fall on the complex side, even Bungee Gum, which has the properties of both rubber and gum, can be used in insane ways like ricocheting bullets, gluing minors together, and/or cheesing a game of dodgeball and it’s all both shown AND told.

Now where does JJK fall into all this? Listifying the common Shonen tropes we have A Special Boy main protagonist with a pure motive, a crew, goodness triumphing over evil, prioritizing bonds and community over selfish gain, and the winning power of hard work.

Early JJK fits the mold pretty well. Yuji Itadori starts off the series special, with superhuman fitness before he ingests sukuna’s finger at which point he becomes a Naruto analog, where he is strong because he has a powerful spirit trapped inside him. He has the rather off kilter but still acceptable goal of “dying a proper death”. His squad of mentor Gojo, Fushiguro, and Kugisaki is established by episode 3. The villains are cursed spirits who want to eradicate humanity, the good guys are the jujutsu sorcerers who say “no u” to that. Yuji wants to gain power to protect others instead of just becoming powerful himself. And there’s a training arc! Sure, it happens after Yuji gets his heart ripped out, but he’s not even dead that long. Even the powers in early JJK present themselves as pretty simple, Fushiguro does shadow summoning, Kugisaki does hammer and nail resonance, panda, Inumaki does cursed speech.

It wears its darkness on its sleeve however, presenting Junpei as a potential future team member only to shockingly kill him. The whole star plasma vessel incident casts an unflattering light on Jujutsu society. But none of that COMPARES to the shitshow that happens in Shibuya, where JJK finally shows its real hand.

Over the course of the Shibuya arc, we watch our protagonist mount an offense against the villains that have been building themselves up over the course of the show, sacrificing so so much just to ultimately… lose. The Shibuya arc subverts not just idiosyncratic plot beats but story telling traditions as well. “The strongest” loses, multiple fan favorite characters are either taken out of commission or outright killed, the story progression slams the fast forward button as Yuji goes from having ingested 4 out of 20 fingers to 15/20 resulting in mass civilian casualties because his version of the 9 tailed fox is an actual monster, and ((meta-narratively)) worst of all, Yuji doesn’t even get to defeat his arch-rival, Mahito. Instead Mahito is unceremoniously absorbed by other big bad Geto/Kenjaku. It’s supremely unsatisfying and the weight of the tragedy is so immense you wonder how our heroes are gonna come back from this.

And thus begins the “deconstruction” phase of JJK. Cuz they just… don’t. As dark as Shibuya got, a standard Shonen would then go on to give the heroes a big fat W, some sort of come back after all that. But not JJK! Bc JJK is subversive 😏 this means the fact that the story is super unsatisfying is like, the point mannnn. This isn’t the worst thing that can happen. Chainsawman is also a story of major L’s and minor W’s and it’s my #1 favorite modern manga series. The difference is in intent, however. Chainsawman works as well as it does bc at its core, it loves Denji. He REALLY goes through the ringer, but it’s all in service of understanding what life is like for someone trapped on the hedonic treadmill and how one can ((attempt anyways)) to break out of it.

And then there’s JJK. It truly feels like the manga is designed to tear Yuji’s self sacrificial mindset to shreds for the sake of making him suffer and for the reader to feel bad for ever feeling like good has to triumph over evil. The real problem is, it feels as if the series is bending over backwards to make this shit happen.

Part of the change over is what was a previously simple-ish battle system goes full Erudite Shonen. There were hints that cursed energy could get more complicated, what with domain completion competition and guaranteed hits and simple domains and that one guys FPS ability I can’t explain. But we go FULL HxH level afterwards. All of a sudden oxygen delivery to the brain becomes important to cursed technique, there’s domain range and boundary fidelity and incomplete domain properties, disruption of somatic components becomes a factor, and… it honestly feels like utter nonsense at times.

Complexity isn’t bad, like I mentioned I LOVE HxH and could probably explain the chrollo-hisoka fight if you gave me a few hours to study, but I could not tell you all the new rules for cursed energy that seem just kind of invented on the spot in random chapters during this back half of JJK. Bc they involve concepts never really mentioned before, it feels like an asspull, like this was something made up to force the situation at hand. Thing is, more of those situations only benefit the villains. You get shit like a character winning a battle at the end of one chapter and then starting the next one to find they were killed off screen moments later, actually. It’s just like yeah it’s subversive, but the reason stories aren’t told like this is bc this shit sucks lmao. I think out of all the plans the heroes make like only a handful of them are actually successful, and even then they get so unwound by the next step in the plan that they may as well have not happened. It doesn’t help that the abilities are so complicated now you’ll get a chapter dedicated to explaining what one guy can do just to have him wiped off the face of the earth the next one.

So the crew is gone, our special boy is actually the most disempowered guy ever except for the fact that he can’t be killed for some reason, the good guys are NOT doing a great job standing up to evil since like 86% of their plans fail or have bad results, a gag character wins one of the most important fights in the story and it’s unironically the best thing JJK has done in a while, and it’s all just a very confusing slog to read. This is the danger of writing subversion for the sake of subversion with intent for contempt, kids 😮‍💨

Granted we aren’t at the end of the story yet so maybe I’ll be wrong and there’ll be like a reset button that fixes everything (( which would also suck )), but yeah. JJK wants what HxH did in the chimera ant arc but forgot that that story was possible bc it was fundamentally about humanity and love, not just the parts about how people suck and goodness can fail.

Hello. I am 22, M, looking for 21+ people to RP with in fandoms I like. I'm fine with OC x Canon pairings, as well as Canon x Canon. If we use OCs, I am perfectly ok with doubling up. I only really like to play male characters, but MIGHT play a female character if they're shipped with another female. So basically, MxF (Me playing M) is preferred, but I might be convinced to do FxF.

The Fandoms I am interested in are:

- RWBY

- One Piece (Anime/Manga)

- MHA (Everyone will be 5 years older to avoid any characters being minors)

In terms of NSFW, I prefer focusing more on the story than smut. Maybe an 80/20 percentage. I would also prefer for those connections to be built over time. As for the story, I would also prefer if we started near the beginning of said fandoms mentioned above. Or at least when our respective love interests would be introduced. I read something that made me mad (a news article saying JJK had overtaken MHA as "the worst fandom" because people keep shipping all the male characters with each other, and JJK has more 'illegal' ships) so now I am going through all your fics again both out of spite of that article and to make myself feel better. Keep doing what you do King, it brings me joy.

Oh lord. The description you've given is enough to tell me everything I need to know about the article's relevance (zero), the author's common sense (zero), and the platform's journalistic value (zero). Anyone that goes on about slash shipping ruining fandom and "illegal" ships (tell me you're an idiot without telling me you're an idiot) is a brainless fuckwad not worth listening to, but I completely understand why seeing it would piss you off.

A little anecdote to maybe counter this bullshit:

You know how fancops go on and on about how "normal" people would burn us all at the stake for shipping underage/incestuous/whatever other problematic ship? A friend of mine who's pretty into anime but is unfamiliar with shipping culture (she's not a fandom person either, though she knows of it and has dipped her toes in a few times) visited me last month. She'd watched S1 of JJK and caught up to Shibuya but then stopped (she's since fully caught up). Basically, she knew the characters, their ages, and their relationships. And her response to my wall full of JJK posters, most of which are goyuu, was to ask if Gojou and Yuuji were an item in canon. An interesting chain of events later, little lamb to the slaughter became the first fic she read to completion.

So yeah, the "normal" people don't give a fuck what we freaks do. Nor are they impermeable categories. And any well-adjusted person knows damn well that weird freaky fiction is only that—fiction.

Water manipulation Quirk but super easy to control + increased distance and increased speed. 

You’re basically unstoppable. 

Now. POV: You Deku and Kacchan= childhood friends but after your quirks things started going south. He’s the reason why you didn’t go to UA and instead to the wonderful school of Shiketsu High School. Now you’re in your Hero license exam and... There like 2 versions of this. One where you’re vengeful and one where you’re just... shy. In the vengeful one you’re seeking revenge for bullying you. 

“Kacchan! Kacchan!” You heard young Deku yell. “I wanna be the hero too Kacchan! I wanna be like All Might!!” 

“Shut up Deku you’ll never be as amazing as all might,” 

“Why do you have to be so mean?” Deku pouted.

“No one’s as cool as All Might dumb Deku,” Young Kacchan declared. 

“Aww I guess you’re right”

“ I’m always right,” the tiny blonde announced, proudly. 

"So then I wanna be a hero!” 

“No, I’ll be the hero and you be the sidekick,” 

“Aww.. Alright then,” 

“You be the princess,” He pointed at you with a childlike grin on his face. 

That’s how it always was. You’re the princess who needed saving and Kacchan would always save you. Somehow things changed when he got his quirk.

Pop! Pop! Little miniature explosions came out of his palms. This was the moment Kacchan got his quirk. Everyone awed how awesome it was. “Awesome!” One of your classmates cheered. 

“You’re so lucky!” Deku yelled out. 

“Yea,” Your classmates agreed. 

“Impressive, I betchu that’s gonna grow into an amazing quirk!” one of your teachers commented.

“Definitely,” Your other teacher added, “A flashy quirk for a future hero! It’s perfect,” 

‘Yea you’re right! I AM amazing! In fact I bet there’s NO one as Great as I am’

His thoughts were cut off when. 

A Giant arm appeared. The arm was as big as Kacchan. One thing about it? It was made entirely of water. 

“Oh it seems another quirk’s been manifested,” Your female teacher acknowledged. 

She and the other teacher looked around for the kid responsible for the water arm. You placed your arm down after cheering for Kacchan and the hand mirrored your movement. The hand dropped to the ground. 

“Ah- it’s you! Y/n that’s an impressive quirk!” She commented. 

“A hand that big especially in your age is quite incredible,” Your male teacher stated, “I can’t imagine how your quirk will progress in the future but I bet you’re mostly likely the next number 1 hero,” 

Kacchan stared at you. His brows were turning to a frown. His little explosions were getting louder. You stole the attention from him and you developed a more powerful quirk. You weren’t supposed to be strong. You were supposed to be the princess. The damsel in distress. This made Kacchan mad. He started bullying you ever since and it was you and Deku for the rest of your school life. That is... until highschool.

Bakugou gave you a swift kick on the gut. You were knocked back against the wall. You held your gut as Bakugou grabbed your collar. 

“Listen up 'princess’,” He yelled, “Don’t you DARE try to apply for UA. I’M Going to be the First And ONLY student from this crappy school to get into UA! So you better not Screw that up!” 

You only winced at his scary tone. You weren’t planning to get into UA. Even if you did it would be because of Izuku. You could feel yourself trembling. You couldn’t even look him in the eye anymore. 

“LOOK AT ME WHEN I’M TALKING TO YOU!!” He yelled, explosions coming from his hand. 

You drew back further and started trembling harder. You didn’t want to hurt Bakugou. He let your collar go and you fell back slowly. 

“Pathetic losers like you shouldn’t even be a hero,” He commented before leaving your line of sight. 

That’s the entire thing though. That was never your role. You were never wanted to be a hero. You were supposed to be the princess who Kacchan and Deku saved. You picked yourself up knowing that isn’t your role anymore. You obeyed Bakugou and didn’t apply for UA. You instead went for Shiketsu HighSchool. 

Walking home you encountered a commotion. You usually would walk past it and let the heroes take care of it but there’s when you heard a familiar voice. “KACCHAN!” It was Deku. Damn it Midoriya. You didn’t want to lose one of your friends now. Your quirk was water manipulation and the villain was mostly made out of water so quickly took control of the sludge monster and separated it from Bakugo while grabbing Deku to keep him in a safe distance with an ice chain. You controlled the sludge villain to be as small as possible and locked him in an ice dome. You quickly walked away sparing a quick glance at Deku to make sure he’s alright.

You got accepted to Shiketsu Highschool. You kept it a secret from your old friends. Until the day of your hero license exam. You hopped out of your bus with Inasa. An enthusiastic boy who’s loud but he meant well. He was your best friend. 

“The usual you guys” A red boy announced. 

Inasa sneaked up behind them.

“On my mark,” The red boy continued. 

Inasa walked closer towards them.

“Go plus-” 

“ULTRA!” Inasa yelled. 

You stood next to Camie and watched him with a smile. 

That caught the attention of half the UA students there. 

“You know it’s pretty rude to barge into other peoples huddles like that Inasa,” Seiji Shishikura, the second year boy, pointed out calmly. 

“What? Pardon me,” Inasa raised his head, “I AM” His arms tucked to his side as he continued, “SO” He bowed his head till it hit the ground “VERY EXTREMELY SORRY!!!” 

You giggled. That caught the attention of both Izuku and Bakugou. They haven’t seen you smile for a while actually. Especially Bakugou. Since he always tormented you before. You looked like you were glowing. 

“Y/n!” Deku called out. He ran towards you. 

“Oh Deku!” You responded. You were bombarded with questions from the green nerd. 

“Hahaha.. Calm down I have several questions for you too. We can have a chat after the exam,” You cheerfully suggested. 

“OH Y/N you know this guy?” Inasa asked in his usual loud enthusiastic voice. 

“Yea he’s my middle school friend! Izuku meet Inasa,” You said. 

Unbeknownst to you there was a blonde looking at you. He watched as you kept... glowing as you smiled. You never glowed during middle school so this view was definitely new to him. He... liked it. 

You waved at Izuku as you, Inasa and your other schoolmates walked into the exam location. 

"Vengeance is clouding your vision," Seiji quietly mentioned. 

You took a glance at him before ignoring his words. 

The exam began and you watched as Bakugou left his classmates with some others following him. You conjured up an ice platform that floats you up into the sky. You followed them and led you to your schoolmate. What a coincidence. You were floating so you got there before they could. 

"HEYA SEIJI" You called out. 

"Y/n why are you here?" He asked, looking up and shifting his body to face you. You were still floating with your ice platform 

"Thought you might need some help," you looked to your side. 

He followed your gaze. Bakugou and 2 if his other classmates were running towards you. You have a mischievous smirk and you charged towards them. 

"I'LL HANDLE THE BLONDE YOU CAN HAVE THE REST," You yelled.

You heard Seiji yelling at you but you couldn't care. You charged towards Bakugou. Since your quirk has less limits you were faster so you captured him with ice chains that covered his torso and hands sending him flying backwards. Kirishima and Denki were going to attempt to save him when Seiji called out to them. Since you were faster you took off his gauntlets and controlled his sweat too. This happened so fast that he didn't have time to react. The ice restraining his hands slowed down the sweat he was producing too. 

"I thought I felt someone following us," Bakugou growled.

You chuckled. You unfroze the positions of his targets and hit 2 of them. 

"BASTARD!! I'LL KILL YOU WHERE YOU STAND!!"

"You're all bark but no bite when it comes to me huh?" you questioned with a pout. You thought he changed but you were wrong. You saw Bakugou aggressively squirming around trying to free himself. You tightened the ice

"You know… thanks to Deku I know how your quirk works. So stop squirming, it's useless," 

Bakugou was grunting angrily before he finally stopped."Shiketsu huh? You didn't go to UA so you went to Shiketsu" He growled.

He took a moment before continuing, "WHY? YOU DIDN'T EVEN WANT TO BECOME A HERO!" 

Your ice tightened. Bakugou was smart. He knew he was basically quirkless without his sweat or gauntlets. Hell he couldn't even reach his grenades. So he had to resort to negotiating. 

"That's true. My role was never the hero Kacchan," you said his name in a mocking tone. "That was yours... But I guess you can't be a hero without passing the exam," 

You paused.

"You never deserved the title anyways,"

"THEN WHY?!" He yelled, "WHY'D YOU BE A HERO WHEN YOU DIDN'T WANT TO IN THE FIRST PLACE?! WHY GO TO SHIKETSU?! WHY TAKE THIS DAMN EXAM?!" 

You could feel him struggle in the ice. 

"SO I CAN SEE THE LOOK IN YOUR EYES WHEN YOU REALIZE THAT I'M THE NUMBER ONE HERO!" Your words had some venom in them. 

Bakugou scoffed. He looked down. "I'm not an idiot! I knew if you were in the picture I'd never be number one. Dammit. I knew you were stronger than me.So I berated you. My helpless princess whom I was supposed to be saving," 

You flinched at the nickname. Looking back at it now he's never called you anything else except your name or that nickname. But it's been so long since you've heard it, it surprised you. "I'm sorry," He mentioned.

This. This. Caught you by surprise. The Katsuki Bakugou just Apologized. To you nonetheless. Sure you had to beat it out of him but this was still surprising. You sighed.

"Better have enough firepower to fix your landing," you said before not dropping him but throwing him in a random direction. 

After this he started trying to atone for his past actions like taking you out for your old favorite drink.

“What? Pardon me,” Inasa raised his head, “I AM” His arms tucked to his side as he continued, “SO” He bowed his head till it hit the ground “VERY EXTREMELY SORRY!!!” 

You hid behind Camie jittering in place. Inasa was usually the person you’d hide behind from. He was tall and he made you feel safe even with his loud behavior. Deku caught a glimpse of you and waved at you. You waved back shyly. 

“Let’s go” Seiji directed. You followed. 

Inasa in an attempt to cool your nerves gave you a challenge to who’s going to pass first. It worked. During the test you took out 12 people with your water powers. You didn’t really want to take too much people out because you didn’t want them to be mad at you. You just attacked some people with a tidal wave which managed to take their balls and at the same time hit their targets. Once you got 3 you tried to stop the wave but before you could you accidently got another 9. 

“YEA! YOU WERE AWESOME THERE Y/N,” Inasa cheered. You blushed and nodded at the comment. He kept talking you up and you just stood there face red shyly thanking him every now and then.

Okay MHA...I’m tired...

I know I’m going to get hate for this and I don’t care. But can My Hero Academia go five minutes without romanticizing a fucked abusive unhealthy, destructive or terrible relationship? Because right now, the heroes look like self-righteous dumbasses who should not be trusted nor have any good sense of reason, logic or frankly a consistent sense of morality, ethics and justice. And every time the story pulls out that “the villain is a child inside” crap or goes on about how life was unfair to the mass murderer, it makes the villain look more and more unintentionally unsympathetic. Can heroes like Izuku and Ochako be allowed to set boundaries and priorities to let horrible people hurt them without being considered bad heroes or bad people? Is it really bad for them to not let themselves get hurt just to validate some asshole’s feelings? Ochako doesn’t owe Toga shit. Toga isn’t entitled to shit. But the story is basically absolving Toga of all of the shit she’s done so that Ochako looks heroic for bleeding to death to reach out to this selfish murderous psycho bitch with a stalker complex. It doesn’t make Toga sympathic, it makes her look even more selfish. It doesn’t make Ochako a better character, it actually makes her kind of pathetic and hard to respect. I’m not sorry, I can’t respect people who disregard lives lost, families destroyed and can actually look a mass murderer in the eye and say that she has a lovely smile and admires how carefree she is while attacking her and her friends. This is Ochako’s big moment apparently. Enabling and coddling a fucking murderer because holding her accountable for her crimes and telling her that she mad bad choices and she’s responsible for them is “bad”. Society may have been unfair to Toga, but Society didn’t make Toga kill Saito (yes he’s dead per the databook) or any of the people she left to bleed to death, Himiko Toga choose that for herself. However, when I say Toga’s responsible for her choices I also state that she has the ability to make the right choice and do the right thing. Same goes for Shigaraki, but that requires taking personal ownership and responsibility for your actions. This is why the Toga and Ochako storyline sucks so much because it acts like Toga’s entitled to sympathy and patience and completely ignores all of the horrible and shitty things she’s done or been apart of. When Ochako says that she “can’t forget Toga’s actions”, this is empty protest and her actions and other words like “have my blood for the rest of my life” don’t add up. And no, Toga being bisexual does not excuse shit. She’s still a psycho murderer and deserves consequences. She sure as shit doesn’t deserve Ochako after nearly killing her and all of the harm she’s caused against her and her friends. I won’t change anyone’s mind here, but wanting TogaChako canon is basically saying you support a fucked up relationship between a selfish psychotic murderous borderline-sexual predator and the girl she’s trying to murder. If you want to support a Yuri ship, at least pick one that isn’t romanticizing or enabling abuse and romantizing suffering for an abusive or harmful partner like for example Momo x Kyoka. If Toga was a male, ya’ll would agree with me and you know it. I halfway wonder if some of you only ship TogaChako despite all of the objective red flags because you’re that desperate or thirsty for some kind of validation. Well sorry folks, you’re picking the wrong hill to stand on because canon-wise it sucks. Fanon wise, you can make it whatever you want, I mean it. I’ve read plenty of good fanfics where Toga got the help she needed before she went off the deep end and I enjoy reading about her relationship with other characters like Ochako and Izuku. But just like how Fanon Aizawa or in some cases “Dadzawa” is very different from the objectively asshole Canon Aizawa, Fanon Toga is a sweetheart compared to the psycho murderer Canon Toga is. I honestly wouldn’t care what you ship because it’s your business. I highly question your choice of ship, but feel free to ignore me and enjoy your warped fucked up ship as you please. With that said, I’m free to dislike said ship and use evidence from the story to point out how this is the worst possible cruelty you could inflict on Ochako. But please stop pretending like Canon Toga wouldn’t be a constant threat to anyone she was with. She fucking stabbed the first guy she had a crush on and he died (again databook) and even if he didn’t die, that’s still not someone who should be shipped with anyone. And after reading all of that, if you think I’m some kind of sexist, homophobic asshole because I don’t absolve or excuse murderers regardless of race, sex or sexual identity then we have nothing to discuss because I’m not wasting any breath on you. Fuck off. For the record, I already had this problem with the Bakugou and Izuku dynamic where Bakugou basically gets no consequences for his objectively bad actions and attitude. No justice for ten years of abusive bullying; No accountability for trying to kill Izuku during the training exercise; Izuku holds Bakugou on a pedestal he doesn’t deserve and basically does all of the suffering and giving for their messed up relationship; and the story doesn’t even do the bare minimum to make Bakugou’s “redemption arc” passable. The story ignored it for almost 300 chapters and then puts in a few grand gestures then acts like that’s all that’s needed and goes no further. I also have this issue with how Izuku is lionized for acting on blind idealism and emotionality to try and “save” Shigaraki despite the thousands he’s chosen to kill; the path of villainy that he’s chosen to take; and how he’s going to kill everyone if he’s not stopped. Society didn’t make Shigaraki become a villain; attack USJ; attempt to murder the Class 1-A students and teachers multiple times; send an attack against the Camp; try to make Bakugou join him or die; make an alliance with Overhaul whose torturing a child; or willingly take AFO’s quirk to be even more destructive and evil. That was Shigaraki’s choice. Tomura Shigaraki made that choice. Tenko Shimura made that choice. The little child within Shigaraki is irrelevant. It’s not who you are underneath, but what you do that defines you. If Izuku and Ochako really respected Shigaraki and Toga, they’d respect their choices and stop holding back. Take off the kiddie gloves and defeat them however they have to. If the villains have to die so that no one else is killed at their hands? So be it. Nope, instead the story treats Shigaraki and Toga like children who can’t be held responsible for their actions because it’s all society’s fault. Which is insulting to them as characters, insulting to the many they’ve killed and Izuku and Ochako are also disrespecting their friends, teachers and comrades who’ve died or almost died including Midnight who was killed by one of Shigaraki’s men on Shigaraki’s command. What is heroic about disregarding the families destroyed? How will Ochako and Izuku explain themselves to the families of Shigaraki and Toga’s victims? Will they have any answer that doesn’t involve blind emotionality or idealism? I doubt it. What’s wrong with holding the villains accountable for their actions and giving them deserved consequences and acknowledging that society is flawed and wrong them? They are not mutually exclusive. You don’t have to scream at the audience about how you’re ignoring the problem if you don’t absolve these unsympathetic people because you know murder is wrong. And while we’re at it, if Horikoshi really wanted a story about Izuku and Bakugou repairing their relationship, then he needs to hold Bakugou accountable and responsible for his shit. Izuku needs to be allowed to love himself, knock Bakugou off of his “symbol of victory” pedestal, and learn that he doesn’t need to tolerate shit from Bakugou nor prove anything to him. Instead, Horikoshi’s portraying his characters as emotional pushovers and I’m sick of abusive horrible harmful people being treated like they’re entitled to sympathy, empathy or whatever. All because society wronged them and that apparently validates their chaotic emotions and how they’re lashing out and killing thousands of people. Yet, the story expects us to treat them like they’re the victims and they’re therefore entitled to infinite patience, forgiveness and empathy. They’re not. They’re entitled to a punch to the face. And I’m done here. Note: If you disagree with what I said then do so with respect. I don’t care if you agree with me, but harassment, threats and bullying will not be tolerated. Note: Just because I’m critical of MHA, doesn’t mean I’m any less of a fan. I just will not ignore its major problems as I’ve outlined. So if anyone wants to tell me that “I’ll have no peace in this fandom”, then just know that I don’t give a damn if you think I belong here or not. PS: Despite my harsh and blunt language, I really have nothing personally against TogaChako, BakuDeku shippers or whatever. I just hate these ships because of the unfortunate implications within them due to the canonical actions and attitudes of Bakugou and Toga. Sometimes...sometimes the male characters I like give me the ick. And it's been happening more often with 2 particular clown characters 👀

If you know me, you know I identify as lesbian/queer, so like DUH. But I find it interesting that it's happening more often. Basically with any characters played by real people. I think the comphet in me is slowly dying, guys. It kinda worries me bc I don't wanna lose the special love and connections I have with these characters, but I can't help itttt my lesbian brain thinks they're icky sometimes guysss 😭

They're the furthest from being real men so obviously me likey 😍 They're pretty and not too realistic and they got the masculine look/energy that makes my heart go 💓 (I'm talking to you, Bakugou Katsuki, Kirishima Eijirou, and all the other MHA boys that have me in a chokehold). It's honestly a match made in heaven.

I guess I should've known the comphet wouldn't be able to stand the test of time. The beast is growing weaker inside me. After all this time, I see it as an old friend, and I am sad to see this happen. I salute you, old pal. You've made my life hell in many ways, but what would I be without you?

I'm being so silly 🤭 but forreal guys, idk what to expect of my future with these characters I've long considered to be f/os of mine. I don't think my love for them will ever fully fade away, but I feel myself growing more distant from them 🥺 I used to be able to overlook the icky parts and now I can't ignore it as easily 😭 this is supposed to be a good thing for me and here I am all pouty and sad about it pfft but I'm sure the self shippers out there will somewhat understand. These have been my comfort characters for a long time. I don't wanna lose the bonds I've formed with them 🥺

Anyway, I'm still totally cool with writing for these characters, I enjoy it so much still. But as for my personal relationships with these characters...the connection feels a little weaker these days 😔 but that doesn't mean it's the end! I might wake up in a few weeks head over heels for them all over again. Guess we'll see, huh?

I dunno if it’s because I’m a girl or what, but every time I start a new piece of media I’m always on the lookout for how and where women are implemented. Regardless of medium or genre and oftentimes beyond even, are the women well written or powerful. I want to see how relevant the female voice is to the universe as a whole.

I tend to dabble in anime but one thing that has always pissed me off is the power imbalance between females and males built in regardless of how well written they may be. Most recently I’ve been catching up to kaiju no 8 and honestly all the female characters are pretty good. Some are even very strong! But honestly that strength makes the disparity even harder to ignore when the actual relevant female characters number only 3 and one of them is dead. All the very strongest people are men and there are just. So many of them. Why is the ratio greater than 3:1 for all the side characters and why is there only one girl among all the new recruits?? If the strong women exist and are not being impeded narratively by sexism— why is it so unequal?? The logic isn’t logicing because if in many of these series the women are strong and they are cool and it’s clear they have what it takes to be successful, why are they are never at the very top or in the highest positions of power and still often in the minority. I’m looking at you jjk/mha/demonslayer.

And I was like, okay, now I want to think about media where it’s the opposite. Female oriented and all that. It’s honestly hard to find because even in media directed at women, it’s often in a universe that mirrors our own so structurally it’s pretty sexist. The best examples of female-centric media are usually media aimed at children. I loved She-ra because nearly all the most powerful characters were women and honestly the men were given the token guy treatment I was so used to seeing in all other media. Like, the men u get, hordak, bow and seahawk, they’re great! But it’s also—just them in a sea of strong kickass women and the story functions just fine. See also basically any Barbie movie where men are only included to be love interests and do little else. Or even sailor moon/magical girl shows. It is so possible for women to hold up a narrative on their own, despite what Hollywood would have you believe. Unfortunately these narratives are hard to find outside of children’s shows.

Most media falls somewhere in the middle though, like in orv where it is honestly one of the closest examples of an evenly represented work. The female characters are amazing and strong and very much vital to the story, and the team make up is pretty 50-50. However, I still get a little pissed thinking about how the majority of high level constellations are male and practically all myth grade and above are male too. All the characters and incarnations are very equal it’s just the top layer that feels a bit skewed to me.

All this to say, I would like a piece of media where from the bottom to the top the men and women stand toe to toe. Feel free to give recs if you know any!
