Okay but real talk here about Will Poulter joining the MCU.

If I see any of you saying Will Poulter is “ugly”, calling him names, sending him hate or abuse, or otherwise being absolute dicks about him, I will personally be throwing hands.

I saw what happened after Bandersnatch came out, and it was to the point that Will actually had to take a step back from social media because people were sending him hateful messages calling him “ugly” and being generally awful. It’s so shitty to see not because I’m a fan of him (I am though), but because he is an incredible human being who is involved with anti-bullying charities (including being an ambassador for AntiBullyingPro) and has been for several years, has publicly acknowledged in MULTIPLE occasions that he has privilege as a white man, he tries to use that privilege he has to raise awareness of various issues, he promoted a book that is “an autism friendly story that encourages empathy, understanding and kindness” (by a group that aims to bring inclusivity and representation to children’s stories), he’s actively anti-racist and pro-BLM and using his platform on social media to do this, he works with multiple different charities… he is literally such a good person, and yet people are just focusing on how he looks.

Already I’ve seen it: people whining and complaining that he’s been cast as Adam Warlock and “why didn’t they cast _____ instead???” Etc. Will is extremely talented as an actor and wonderful, and he absolutely kills every single role he plays: Eustace in Narnia, Kenny in We’re the Millers, Jim Bridger in The Revenant, Krauss in Detroit, Gally in Maze Runner, Colin in Bandersnatch, Mark in Midsommar, Andrew/Anthony/Abraham in the Dark Pictures: Little Hope game etc etc. He has played so many roles in so many different types of films and projects, and he slays all of them - this will be no different.

And actually, you know what? To be quite brutally honest, I don’t understand how people are looking at him and deciding “lol he’s not hot” or “he’s ugly” when he is absolutely not “ugly” in the slightest?!? Have you seen him?!? Are you not using your eyes?!?

In short, please don’t be assholes. Will Poulter deserves the absolute world and nothing less.

As we are nearly at the end of our charity fundraising week we-me and my daughter @xo_eleanordonnelly_xo have been posting daily images in our @jeans_for_genes tees as super proud ambassadors. We also for Jeansfor genes charity support anti bullying week. It is important as parents to remind our children of how we behave and what we say to another person will mentally affect another for life,Don't be a bully. Please keep donating and help us raise awareness on the importance of being educated on genetic disorders. Both of us have EDS and we will be doung a YouTube educational clip on my channel and my daughters . These tshirts represent being different is powerful. The superheroes are different,both boys and girls can be superheros. We all have a superpower and i have always said me and my daughter are proud our power is our voice to be heard ,to make a difference,to inspire others to be better. It is down to you to use your words for better. Choosing negative words will never get you anywhere but will leave a scar on the person who you have said it to. While we have been raising awareness and my daughter has shared more of her work publically on her page ,my daughter has been bullied and called 'fat' 'ugly ' 'horrible hair because shes mixed race heritage' " and she has been alienated from her friends by this certain girl. Fan fiction writers, readers, and friends throughout the Outlander fandom are being specifically targeted by cyber bullies. Cyber bullying within the Outlander fandom is not a new phenomenon and we know that just one sentence written by a nameless author has the power to influence someone’s well-being: their self-esteem, their mental health, and even their life. It is hurtful to not only those directly targeted but our entire community. We Librarians have decided enough is enough. We are taking a stand and we invite you to stand with us!

Aim: Our goal is to silence cyber bullies and to ensure that our fan fiction community remains a safe and enjoyable space for everyone. 

Method: We may not be able to control the actions of other people, but we can control what is posted on our own blogs. Going forward, we invite anyone who receives any hateful message in their inbox - whether the messenger is  anonymous or not - to join the Librarians and commit to not posting these messages publicly. We believe that the people responsible for sending hurtful anonymous messages throughout the community are seeking publicity. If we stifle their recognition completely, we may be able to silence them permanently. 

Solidarity: Every time we receive a hateful anonymous message, rather than posting it publicly, we will simply post a #SassenachsStandTogether poster on our blog [available here]. This will signal to the anon that we do not accept their cyber bullying and also signal to the rest of the fandom that we have been targeted. If you see this signal posted by a fellow blogger, let them know they are not alone! You can reach out and let them know you support them, or you can simply reblog their message in solidarity. The Outlander fan fiction community is one of the most supportive and courageous groups of people we know, and we’re so much stronger when we stand together. Let’s show these cyber bullies that they have no voice here!

We Will Not Be Silenced: Choosing to not post hateful anonymous messages publicly does not mean that we shall suffer these attacks in silence or in solitude. In fact, we think that the community should talk about it even more. We suggest methods such as public blog posts that do not interact with or directly address cyber bullies and private DM with friends and fellow bloggers in our community. The Lallybroch Librarians are always available to talk to. Conceptualizing the Issue and Assessing Types of Action

1. I chose cyberbullying because I believe that cyberbullying is prevalent today, especially with teenagers. It’s a disease that has been integrated in countless high schools, including mine. 

2. I think people are getting excessively harmed by cyberbullying and I think it’s really threatening towards the younger members of society. People that are on the receiving end of cyberbullying sometimes lash out on themselves, which is something we should try and prevent.

3. I think parents should be more involved in seeing what their kids say about one another, and for kids to have the awareness of what cyberbullying can do to a person. 

4. I’m following  @TheCybSecGuard,  @AntiBullyingPro,  @CybersmileHQ,  @SCDHQ, and  @onlinebullying because they demonstrate and explain why cyberbullying is harmful to young kids, and they detail what the parents of a cyberbully should do to prevent further cyberbullying. Here is a tweet that sums up the cyberbullying cause perfectly. From @SCDHQ, “ We are working for a truly inclusive internet without bullying, harassment and abuse.”
