yandere connor x reader

Connor is a dedicated, obsessive yandere. He spends most of his time researching romance, at first completely unaware of the reason behind his obsession. It takes months for him to realize that no, he does actually care about you behind what he normally would. This begins his process of deviation.

Hates how close Gavin gets to you, and wants you far away from him. Will purposefully goad Gavin into attacking him just to prevent the two of you from talking. 

When he’s out on the job with you, tries to protect you from any suspects. He’ll completely take control of the case. You aren’t going to be allowed to do anything, he’s doing all the investigative work.

“It’s alright, Detective; I wouldn’t want you to be exposed to anything dangerous…”

If you’re ever threatened by a suspect, he purposefully pushes them in the interrogation room to hurt themselves. It’s a deliberate decision, all to remove the threat.

Works to get you to like him, even if you’re anti-android. Hell, you might hate him specifically because of how creepy he can be, always looking at you with those big, empty eyes.

Eventually goes out of his way to attack anyone who you’re romantically involved with; he’ll break their arm, just to get them to understand how serious he is. All with that flat, serious look on his face. You’ve completely overrode any sense of morality built into him.

Eventually, once he can’t handle not being around you anymore, he deviates. Then, he kidnaps you.

He’s used the technology in your house to force you to stay inside, isolating you from the world around you. He’s able to hack into it, like a smart house; you can’t watch a show without him knowing. Makes sure you’re reported missing, maybe even finds a body to fake your death.

After the revolution, with Marcus succeeding, I can see the androids having a persistent habit of developing dark, yandere traits, creating a Detroit where androids are in charge, each keeping control over their respective love interest or family. 

I’m really interested in continuing to write for the idea of the androids in charge, so if anyone is interested, please let me know!

Haruka : considering both of his songs were from the android girl album I feel like he's gonna get a third. Of which the only other song I know the lyrics to is relationship scramble.

watched alien: romulus. so many fucking good cinematic moments. actual "review" (NOT spoiler free) under the read more

Firstly the good: I think they accomplished their supposed goal of matching the vibes of the first movie. I think the callbacks/references/quotes were a LITTLE on the nose, but each of them made me kick my feet in the theater, so they still got me lmao. The soundtrack gave me chills. The fucking part where the oxygen is sucked out and she's dangling being COMPLETE SILENCE was soo cool. The part when Andy realizes he needs to kill one of the crew members (whose name I don't know, which I'll get to later) and he says his "you finally won't think of me as a child anymore" line and then sprints to hunt one of them down was so up my alley i had to physically restrain myself from laughing and clapping during the movie.

Next, the bad, or more the not so good: it was so fucking dark. The darkness in the beginning on the colony was cool because it felt appropriate, but the darkness later was REALLY frustrating. I was watching it in a local theater with not so great image and light quality, so maybe the darkness was actually an issue with the theater, but I can't know for sure until I rewatch it on DVD. Which I will almost certainly be doing, because I COULDNT UNDERSTAND WHAT THEY WERE SAYING HALF OF THE TIME. This is probably a me thing, but I feel as if so many of the characters slurred or murmured their words, and without subtitles that is just impossible for me to understand. The only characters names that I know is Andy and Rain and that is ONLY because I read them in an article before. I think one was named Kyle? The CGI was actually frighteningly good in every aspect EXCEPT the android on the station (which....that was SUPPOSED to be ash, right?) I had misunderstood that article I read, because I thought Andy and Rain were BOTH androids, but it turns out my assumption of two androids was accidentally correct.

I could nitpick for hours, but god I love these fucking movies. I was so so SO worried they would take it away from the androids, but they didn't. The part with Andy restarting in the red water room was so fucked up and so so so cool. I LOVE the way they were riding the line between androids being evil/fucked up/uncanny valley while also being good and, most importantly, worth going back for. It displays the situation of androids just as complex as it is. It makes me hopeful for future alien movies to see how they'll tackle those issues, because I was a little worried they would fall back into the "androids evil humans good" thing. My pipe dream is an official alien franchise live action movie with an android/human relationship, so that maybe it will kick the scene into high gear a bit and we'll get all sorts of new media with those themes.

Andy has joined the ranks with some of the best fictional androids I've ever read/watched/seen. That scene of him running and then standing motionless in the airlock made me feel like I was fucking ascending, like I was forgetting to breathe and getting lightheaded because I was so excited. The movie delivered both HAL and Bishop (for lack of a better comparison) in one person and fucking christ the actor did just a good job. The twitching while he restarted. Christ.

I won't sleep very well tonight but not because I'm scared who said that

I also really enjoyed the lore about the world these movies are set in. The mining colony was cool as fuck to see and I LOOVVVEEEE janky ass homemade spaceships that run like a square bicycle wheel. I did feel as if Rain didn't have enough information to be making the calls that she did (ie, not trusting the serum? Why not? Obv WE know not to, but how did she? If she been in a scene where she had CLEARLY seen the cage with the rat, this example would've been fine, but there were other little things like that that felt off. This was her first time in space, first time (presumably) in anti-grav situations, and she somehow managed extremely well, as if she was trained for it)

Anyway. Thats all ive got. I am emotionally spent and I cannot wait to get my grubby hands on a DVD. I heard rumors of another movie (Alien: Earth?) but that was on twitter which I quickly bailed on to avoid spoilers.

soo what kind of headcanons do you have about what happens after the successfull revolution + connor army? like what are all the characters doing? what will the world look like? will androids rule over the humans?

It's kinda difficult for me really thinking about a post-canon scenario itself but I think I got some basic stuff in mind.

So first off all I think it's just the beginning of a quite turbulent period in US, both economically and legally. The androids start taking Detroit, like, the whole city after they took from Belle Isle to Downtown. I also must remember even if we got a sympathetic public opinion doesn't mean everybody is suddenly chill about androids, it's quite the opposite. The majority is either neutral or negative about it but now there's a big enough supportive crowd

Everything in the city is kinda "dead" for some months due to the androids not working anymore, the humans who stayed in Detroit are kinda worried but some folks think it's a good message to Cristina and CyberLife the androids taking Detroit

We got some looting and troublesome folks on the streets in the first days but after the android leadership reassure they won't bother patrol cops as long as they don't attack androids out of nothing there are few cops patrolling around

Yep, I do hc androids took HQs, including where the mayor (who ran away for safety) stays. After very few days the android leadership wanted her back so they can talk, very few people from the staff stayed during the event of Nov 11th

Some people in some major cities are trynna escalate hostility towards androids due to the whole "first they took our jobs, took a city now they wanna get paid for it?" sentiment. Anti-Android groups will always be Anti-Android groups. Difference is now there are Pro-Android groups to point out hypocritical discourses

[Kara Captured] Kara and her crew are in Detroit after being saved by the rebels. For now they're just walking from place to place to stay, maybe the androids are even turning the camps into bases and they stay there for some weeks. Alice discover other android kids and start developing ties with 'em even tho everybody is kinda shy, Luther is always there more closely

Kara and Luther managed to get in contact with Rose again somehow after few days

After the battle was over androids were finally able to decide what to do with the ones who fell in battle. There's no one to bother 'em bout looting CyberLife stores for supplies. They managed to bring some back to life, other ones weren't that lucky. I like thinking they managed to brought Josh back to life

[Kara Leaving Detroit] Kara and her crew are in Rose's family house in Canada, they stay mostly inside the house or in empty places they can't be recognized, but usually no one really recognize 'em or detect weird things on 'em ID, still they were recommended to not leave tracks

But they ain't the only ones that made across the border. I guess they stay there for some good weeks waiting what the Canadian suits will decide about the android situation, considering Detroit was taken by the androids. At the same time they're happy they escaped the confront Luther is worried they may be trapped in there for the moment, totally dependent on Rose's crew

The androids may have sent a "violent" message with the assaults on the camps but a considerably amount of people supports 'em. They usually leave the androids alone but some folks like helping androids getting fixed or even clothes - these people are usually people that dislike Cristina's acts

Markus finally got 3 days of peace waiting for the gov to seek dialogue while the internet is in total chaos, he realizes his rebellion started a political polarization "war". Simon and North ain't surprised

Markus broadcasts another message saying humans shouldn't see androids as the enemy cuz guess who started the whole problem? Exactly. It's part of a new tactic of trynna get more human support and put 'em against the gov and CyberLife, after all humans and androids share the planet, they WILL have to cooperate

Suits just don't know where to start, what the androids want and how modifying laws is something that people need to sit down and think about everything. Not to mention they're kinda desperate cuz androids got the economy hostage and lotta stuff in the country is just not working cuz androids refuse to work

First step was considering androids a new species on paper, and also the right of owning things related to 'em wellbeing and being able to refuse orders, just a temporary change (a first deal) - that's where the conflict starts as lotta people dislike the idea of androids receiving a relatively "good" compensation for labor. And also what's attached to the fact now androids are considered people (in the "rights" sense) as a non-human person

We got people divided, politicians wanting to farm votes, tech specialists worried suits don't know how to deal with things, especially without complicating things for humans as androids even if people they're still computers. There are riots, protests both pro-human and pro-android all over the world. Pro-humans are actually more pissed at the fact the top brass never listened to 'em own people but now they're moving everything as fast as possible for androids

Pressure was made in CyebrLife letting android related supplies in androids hands but there's this thing called capitalism and they kinda want androids to pay taxes and pay for 'em products if they really want to be considered people. They often use this narrative to manipulate androids against humans in a subtle way, ofc using politicians

Connor is alive and helping some new Jericho folks, the androids he converted got a positive image of him and often sees him as a leader or sorts. I dare saying some may develop a crush on him

He's now trynna figure out what CyberLife's next step and this is exactly what North got in mind

Thing is our friend here doesn't stop and stay in a specific place, he likes walking around alone analyzing just for fun and also cuz he thinks he may be a high value target, so it's more difficult catching a moving target. With this he kinda met lotta people (humans and androids) in the neighborhoods. But he usually stays with the androids in Downtown (up until they start going more north and northwest in more quite places) and sometimes talk to Hank to know how's he's doing (considering the events from LCC and CLT)

Connor explains his situation and everything he discovered bout CyberLife to Markus, North and Simon and they all agree they gotta be the ones making the moves first considering CL is powerful and got lotta corrupt politicians on 'em hands. But they still worried CyberLife may try something using Connor again

CyberLife is now in a tight situation considering they lost deviant Connor, and the fact everybody saw the android marching on TV makes more difficult for 'em to just send another Connor in uniform

Markus got a bit ? after Connor told him he was gifted to Carl...and that Kamski was the one doing it. Ain't a relevant topic in the moment as they're trynna deal with the politicians in the table of diplomatic negotiations but they're both curious about it

Jericho leadership starts getting in contact with other android rebel groups first in the state of Michigan and later other cities like NY and Chicago

Even with all the pressure I hc it took around a year to get some papers with basic things actually made, like, altering Android Act and some other constitution lines to add androids as a person

It was actually funny cuz there's the whole "are non-deviants considered people? Or they still just machines, products?" and Markus and North hated the idea of choosing who deserves rights based on what humans think a person should be. They tried forcing CyberLife to unlock all non-deviant androids from the handler system but faced quite a resistance at first

They had lotta reunions with the president, some secretaries and the mayor in Detroit and they often ended up without major progress due to the nature of what androids were asking and the consequences. I think divided people making noise outside was what made things go more slowly. Let's not forget about the elections factor here.

This New Year's Eve was def a different one, but I guess by december we already had more people on the streets, a decent number just having 'em business as usual after few months but still not the average movement at all

A deal was made where all androids that escaped to Canada are to return to US. If Kara escaped there I like thinking she returns. I honestly don't know what to think about it in a smaller picture cuz I just don't know how the Canadian gov would react and if they would start accepting androids there based on the events from Detroit

Markus didn't want get involved in all this political mess but he was the leader, the face and he wanted to be a present guy instead of just recording videos and making broadcasts like some sorta "I took your city hostage, pay this price and we let 'em go". North knew the country was in a fucked up way and that it could mean terror for humans (economically and politically) and that they should use it at 'em favor. They had all the time in the world, still they didn't want to make innocent people suffer and be equal to the same gov that forgot about 'em

Kara can't help but watch the news and Alice is also always curious about why things are so complicated, she feels kinda sad. If she's in Canada she can't help but want to explore this new world she's in with Kara and they know

Hank left/got fired from the DPD after everything that happened, he couldn't just work for an Anti-Android org like that anymore, he and Chris were the only ones that were positive about androids, all the other rest thought androids were make things difficult in the city.

[In the verse where Hank punch Perkins] the guy indeed pressed charges against Hank. I still don't know what he's doing after this whole thing, maybe just at his home or trynna help the androids with donations

Basically androids are still fighting for 'em things even after months, humans too. It'll be always be like that until people get used to androids fighting for something, I guess. Some places are more chill than others

Android psychology and physiology became a quite relevant theme and people wanting to make some studies about it, especially deviancy (CyberLife is alert on this one). Techies will be techies.

Androids didn't get the right to vote until 2040, the year the new Android Act was finalized and also... I think it's the presidential elections year? I don't remember. The country is still trynna recover from the 2038 events

There are still conflicts in the labor kinda thing as androids are computers and almost no one wanna pay former slaves but they also recognize paying a human can look more "expensive". I think a deal was forced to be made where androids receive very little money or worked the double and it created a whole ass conflict cuz what about android care and all this thing? All machines need care and shit, but at the same time what happens to humans? This conflict still a thing even after temporary measures

Markus also wanted humans to have jobs instead of everybody using androids, an equal balance but some suits probably didn't see this as something very positive but let's not forget the androids got the upper hand in the negotiation tables

Well, I guess that's all for now. I really ain't got a long term thing in mind as it's something I feel like sitting down and studying so u make better scenarios but I think u get the idea and where I'm going.

AU time again!! Welcome to the Human Experiments AU

a crossover/fusion between P3 and P4 where Ren was involved in a severe accident that left half of his face severely burned and most of his lower body as well, where Ren underwent experimental surgery to counter the pain and ended up an android after multiple treatments.

Ikutsuki, somehow surviving the events of P3 and endorsed by Shido and his shady government, was given the chance to experiment on children they knew had the Potential, turning them into human Anti-Shadow-Weapon hybrids because he has no access to any of the Kirijo research and items anymore. His experiments are successful on two subjects (Ren and Goro).

Because of the severity of the 'treatments' (i.e. human experimentation), the persona suffer negative feedback as well, though Ikutsuki isn't above torturing the persona either. Arsene's wings have been pinioned, rather inexpertly, for example.

Some more bullet points of this AU, because I do want to maybe write it someday:

Ren's accident was a heavy fire that broke out in his neighborhood; he only got burned because he went in to save his classmate who was still stuck inside

the classmate ends up dying anyways, but his family thanks Ren profusely and end up being almost a second home for him

Ren was fourteen at the time

Ren's burns rendered him almost immobile for a while, and his parents had to sign him up to a big state hospital or something like that

his parents are, as always, shit people and annoyed that Ren got burned 'for nothing'

when a nice-looking man from the government approaches the little clinic Ren is working with and offers his help in an untested-but-absolutely-safe treatment method they sign him up at once

Ren was fifteen then. He becomes a patient at Ikutsuki's clinic after Goro, though they rarely see each other at first, before Ren's treatment ramps up and he has to become an inpatient

at first Ren thinks that all of the weird scifi augmentations actually are to help him until Goro dashes his hopes that they're just as good as human cattle to the Chairman

Somewhere around this time Ren summons Arsene for the first time as well, and they try to flee. Ikutsuki catches them and pinions Arsene as punishment, speeding up Ren's 'treatment' as well

Goro becomes fully augmented and is made to leave

a year later Ren has also been fully augmented, the only human thing about them their brain and nervous system a la Cybermen from Doctor Who. Goro kept lashing out constantly so he's programmed to obey Shido without alternatives, but Ren was smart and started to obey once Ikutsuki started hurting Arsene as well.

Ikutsuki brings in Sophia as a third research subject, a girl who's a paraplegic

with his focus on Sophia, Ren gets ignored, and he manages to plan an escape

he wanted to take Sophia with him, but she was in the middle of her augmentations, and she pleads with him to flee and live a life again

Ren escapes with a promise to come back for Sophia once he's found Goro, and wanders across Tokyo until he runs into Sojiro days later, chassis torn and in dire need of repair

Sojiro, not knowing what Ren is but seeing a kid in need, goes with him to Futaba, because Sojiro might not know what to do with all of those exposed cables, but his daughter Sure Does.

Wakaba is alive because she wasn't needed by Shido bc he has Ikutsuki. She still works in a cognitive research lab with her colleague Maruki, and has access to heavy machinery and metals to close up Ren's chassis. And even more access to metacognitive things to help Arsene

Ren and Arsene stay with the Isshiki-Sakura household while they try to figure out what happened to Goro, accidentally joining the Phantom Thieves along the way and going by 'Akira Kurusu' to avoid being found by Ikutsuki and Shido

thinking about Appmon’s finale again... tbh i always thought there’d be a small but vocal group of people who are extremely anti-tech in the wake of the (failed) Human Application Project?

Leviathan’s takeover was horrifying on an existential level, and even if people don’t remember being controlled and trapped in Leviathan’s monochrome world, the lead up to the datafication is out of a horror movie—i really think there are groups of people who’d go entirely off the grid and advocate for shunning AIs & technology due to the experience (and we just don’t see them appear on screen because it doesn’t fit Appmon’s theme of co-existence with technology).

which is to say... i think there’s a very high chance of Yuujin’s other friends and classmates, like Watson and co., thinking that Yuujin had been kidnapped by his mom to go live in one of those anti-tech communes in the aftermath of Leviathan’s attack—he and his mom just disappeared immediately afterwards, no one can get in touch with him, but Haru and Ai seem very sure they’d see him again some day... from an outside perspective, Yuujin being whisked off to an anti-tech life is probably the most convincing explanation for all of the above.

tbh, a part of me thinks Haru and Ai’s casual unwavering certainty of seeing Yuujin again freaks the other kids out a bit; they probably don’t think Yuujin is dead or anything—unless there are cases of people dying from the event, which i don’t think happened (Leviathan’s goal is to prevent death and fear of death)—but they do think Haru and Ai are coping really badly and maybe borderline delusional?

(on that note, i absolutely think Yuujin’s “mom” ran after the Project failed—it’s possible that she stayed to help rebuild or whatever, but given her involvement with L-Corp, she’d be in a lot of legal hot water. and if she stayed in the community, she’d have to come up with a reason for why her “son” isn’t around anymore... unless of course she goes public with Yuujin’s real identity, but there’s nothing that really suggests that the public knows about androids collecting human data in their midst in the epilogue? and a reveal like that would heighten anti-tech sentiment)

all of this is a very, very long-winded way to say i kinda love the idea of Watson running into a resurrected Yuujin years down the line when waiting for the subway or whatever, and trying to figure out the mystery of what happened to Yuujin back then. I don’t think he succeeds in getting the real story, but Watson is at heart a nosy busybody (affectionate).

((and then Yuujin derails the investigation by casually mentioning that he’s married/engaged to Haru now

It is supposed that eventually the cracks begin to show in anything. Including robotic friends. It all started on the day Gemma decided to try out this new type of school experience for Cady.

You were at the hotel, updating the new features on F1D0 when your cell phone got a distressing call from Gemma.

"Gem? What's wrong?" You try to calm her.

"Accident...at the school..." was the only words that you hear

"Come on F1D0 let's go!" You rush down the stairs and into the car, speeding towards the location.

When you arrive you see Cady craddling her injured hand and a tween sized body bag and stretcher being loaded into an ambulance.

"What happened?" you rush up to Cady, inspecting her hand

"A boy in the classroom tripped and fell into the road. He was hit by an SUV" M3GAN informs you.

"How do you know?"

"I overheard the driver's testimony and the officers" the robot responds, "I recommend some anti-bacterial spray for Cady's hand"

"Thanks" you rush into your car and pull out the first aid kit, tending to your injured niece's hand.

Gemma approaches, checking on Cady and then on M3GAN.

"Megan, what happened to your shoe?" Gemma asks, it was only then that you noticed she wasn't wearing one of her shoes.

"The deceased boy pulled it off me earlier"

"Well seems like he had a psychotic mindset" you mutter. F1D0 perks up and rushes off into the forest. "Fido? Fido!" you take off after your robotic companion.

You run deep into forest and up to your now paused dog, "what's the matter, boy?"

"Foreign object detected" he responds, his nose pointed to something fleshy in the dirt: a severed ear.

"Oh my-" you try to keep back the vomit building in your stomach. You look over and see M3GAN's missing shoe.

"Did this kid really take this shoe all the way out here?" you look around at the area, "F1D0 scene construct"

Your robot dog walks around the area, scanning every inch of it. He locks onto nearby footprints and handprints.

"Boy took off in the direction towards the road" F1D0 calculates, "speed indicates chase. Nearby hand and footprints suggest canine like run. Too small to be human, no fingerprints"

An idea forms in your mind. And a new sinking feeling hits your gut. Could it be possible? Could an android like Megan be capable of this?!

You and F1D0 walk slowly back to the car.

"(Y/N) are you alright" Gemma cups your face concerned. Your gaze turns to Megan, who tilts her head at you.

"What's wrong (Y/N)? Have I done something wrong?" the robot asks you. Her tone, it almost sounds...mocking.

As you help Gemma put Cady to bed that night, you keep an eye on Megan as she takes her spot next to Cady. Suddenly this friendly little robot doesn't seem so friendly anymore.

"Look I know that you're busy and all" Gemma talks to you in the hallway, "but Megan can watch Cady for a couple hours. Maybe you and I can go off and have a drink"

"A drink?" you snap to reality and smirk, "trying to get that second date?"

"As colleagues, (L/N)" Gemma rolls her eyes as she grabs her car keys.

One drink became two. It seemed like time just blurred away. You and Gemma speak for an hour or so, shooting the breeze and laughing at old stories.

"I regret not calling you" she admits, her hand reaching across the table for yours "you were the last good date I ever had"

"If things had worked out, we would've been each other's dates to our own sibling's wedding" you let out a little laugh.

"What happened?"

"Same song different verse" you take a sip of your drink, "you're brilliant Gem but you let your work get in the way"

"grades are grades" she tries to defend herself

"Gem, please" you say, "M3GAN is great but she's not what Cady really needs."

Gemma looks to you confused

"You don't have to replace Cady's mom" you explain, "Cady just needs you present. No throwing her aside for work. No projects that are greater than her."

"I wasn't trying to replace anyone." she gets all defensive "and Megan is-"

"Hardware" you interrupt, "Cady needs you and me. We're...we're her family"

"I suppose shutting down Megan for a few hours wouldn't be the end of the world" Gemma shrugs. "but I can't do this alone"

"well that's why you're stuck with me" you smirk. Gemma can't help but smile back.

And then came the murder of the next door neighbor. One murder was coincidence. But two. Something was up.

The police question you about the scene as you send F1D0 to investigate. No sign of forced entry, the robot dog sends a text to your phone. Angle of spray indicates toddler height.

That sealed it in your mind.

And then Gemma successfully deactivated M3GAN and bubblewrapped her up. Cady went into a full on tantrum, like an addict removed from their drug of choice.

Cady screams, "I hate it here! And I hate you!!!" She bolts off down the street.

"Cady!!" Gemma shouts but you take off after your niece. F1D0 remains close behind you.

Cady collapses a block or so away, on her knees sobbing her eyes out.

"Kiddo you're freaking me out here" you try to joke with her. Cady turns around and tries to swing a tired fist at you, one that you instantly catch.

"Why did I have to live with Aunt Gemma?!" the younger girl cries, "why can't I live with you? Don't you want me? Do you even love me?!"

She collapses against your chest, sobbing. You wrap your arms tightly around her

"Of course I love you," you get on your knees and look her dead in the eye, "I've loved you since the moment I held you in my arms. You're my niece and I would move heaven and earth to find you if i had to"

"Then why did you leave me with Gemma?"

You sigh, "you think I didn't want you to live with me?" you gesture to F1D0, "Fido is not a toy, Cady. I-I work for the government! Fido is an experimental weapons system!"

The dog looks to you, a little saddened by your words.

"If he were to malfunction and hurt you I-I..." you don't know what to say, "Gemma and I decided that you were safer with her than me."

Cady sniffs away a couple of fresh tears as you wipe away a few of them too.

"I loved you so much I had to let you go" you try to keep your own tears at bay, "but don't ever think for a moment that I don't love you more than all the stars in the sky, kid."

Gemma runs up towards you. She wraps her arms around you and Cady. And for once, Cady doesn't flinch.

"I miss them so much" Cady cries.

"I miss them too" Gemma admits, "I'm so sorry about all this"

"I love you Gemma" Cady hugs her aunt tight.

Gemma and Cady still had to take Megan back to the lab to run a potential diagnostic. You and F1D0 go back to the hotel to pick up a few things before that night's big presentation at Funki.

With an evening tux in hand, you jump into your car and turn the key. The engine sputters and shorts out.

"Sorry (Y/N)" a familiar female voice comes over your sound system.

"Megan"

"Looks like you won't be able to make it to tonight's event" she mocks through the bluetooth speakers. "a shame really. I hear it's going to be UNFORGETTABLE."

Twitter alternatives (WIP)

Collecting some pros and cons (with sources if I can find them) for various platforms. I'm neurodivergent, this is how I cope with my stress, figured I'd share if it helps anyone! I'm looking for a place that vibes with my values (LGBTQ+, BIPOC, disabled, anti-hate, NSFW friendly, and preferably has boundaries against generative AI stealing art/writing etc.).

I welcome any comments/sources that people have as so many of us are trying to figure this out!! Updating as I find more options/learn more

Tumblr:

My experience: I used Tumblr back before the NSFW ban and am just coming back this year, I find it easy to use and filter content I do and don't want to see. But I struggle to feel a sense of community here (I haven't talked to anyone directly through this platform in the years I have used it, though I do appreciate the silly tags on my art!! keep them coming!)

Pros: As far as I'm aware (I used the site back in the popular days, so I'm just coming back to it): does not use posts for gen AI, does not ban queer/bipoc/disabled content. Many fandoms have a large base here.

Cons: cannot post NSFW, anything vaguely near NSFW can be flagged even if it is not sexual

Twitter:

My experience: I have been on Twitter for about a year, I've found a bunch of mutuals and enjoy interacting with people there. But I can't support the direction M*sk is taking things and don't want to post my art on that platform anymore.

Pros: Large user base/far reach including international, can post NSFW but it can sometimes be limited in the algorithm

Cons: M*sk, shadowbans/bans of LGBTQ+ and BIPOC content, arbitrary bans/flags for NSFW, will use posts for AI, bots, hate speech, and harassment of marginalized groups are getting worse

Discord:

My experience: I've used discord for at least 7 years and use it daily as my primary form of communication with friends (and my husband one room away).

Pros: Large user base, most gamers have it, easy way to communicate on mobile and desktop, fun bot integration

Cons: Hard to find your people, most servers are closed systems that you don't know exist, and being in dozens of servers can be difficult to keep track of/keep up with. Each server is run by a person and could disappear without any notice if they rage quit and delete it, the rules are also up to that person. It makes it hard for artists to get a broader reach unless they have their own userbase from another platform feeding into it. Mentions of using user content (VC?) for AI training. They combined the dev for iOS and Android and the mobile app has been AWFUL since then (constantly says connecting every time I go to the app, often have to close and reopen it to send a message).

Bluesky Social:

My experience: I'm on the waitlist (supposedly? Didn't get an email confirmation and just waiting for the past week).

Pros: Built by the previous CEO of Twitter so in theory knows how to build a platform, lots of people seem to be heading that way if they can get an invite code. There were previous worries about it using content for AI, however as far as I can tell it uses content for tagging/moderation the same way that Tumblr does, and NOT for generative AI, " Bluesky does not own rights to your User Content" (From their TOS). Supposedly allows NSFW but can't find a source on this.

Cons: Waitlist of indeterminate length/hard to get an invite code. As shared in my comments, there have been issues of harassment and racism that are not being moderated properly to protect POC users. There have been issues of racist slurs being used in usernames, which in theory got patched out with code, but took a while for them to respond, which does not bose well.

Misskey.io:

My experience: Seeing a few mutuals go over to Misskey.io, I have only clicked on a couple of their posts to see what the platform looks like.

Notes: Uncertain about much about the platform. A lot of the posts are in Japanese (and I'm rusty reading kanji!)

Cons: There are mentions of being Anti-LGBTQ+ or at least not wanting people to post LGBTQ+ content there (1, 2, 3).

Mastodon:

My experience: I don't have an account and have only clicked there once for this post, see below

Notes: I have no personal experience with this platform but people online keep mentioning how hard it is to set up and use (even those who work in programming). I just went to the site's explore page from a google search. The first post it showed me was anti-red state/political parties legislating/tracking marginalized groups (ok), but with a picture of Nazi's front and center uncensored or tagged/flagged as far as I can tell (that was a shocking welcome to the site, might have just been my bad luck, not sure what kind of content is usually posted there). My husband who is into following political content says that people looking for that content are more likely to go to Mastodon from the accounts he follows, rather than art/fandom (from his experience).

Threads:

My experience: I do not have Facebook and will not join this platform.

Pros: Lots of people already have Instagram accounts, so it should be easy to join Threads

Cons: They will collect every scrap of data they can on you and sell it. From your purchases, to health, to location, you are the product.

Pillowfort:

My experience: Only seen mutuals talking about it, do not have an account myself

Pros: According to wikipedia: "The website was launched in 2017 and is currently in open beta. As of October 2020, the site had more than 100,000 users. The website is popular among fandoms, the LGBT community, and adult content creators." Allows NSFW content. Looks a lot like Tumblr so should be familiar to use. They have a demo login that allows you to check out what the site looks like before making an account. They say they are "planning" (search for Stance on AI in the FAQs) to prevent bot scraping, however they believe "AI and AI Generated Images are a topic that is much more nuanced than we previously believed" and do not take a firm stance on the topic yet.

Cons: They do not have a mobile app, though it is mentioned in the FAQs as planned. They limit image uploads to 2MB, you have to pay $2.49/month to upload up to 4MB. Anything submitted over 2MB up to 10MB will be resized down to 2MB.

Notes: On the FAQ they mention "In order for Pillowfort to remain online we need money to cover our various expenses such as hosting & data fees, staff compensation, etc. We do not receive any funding from corporate investors or venture capital because we are committed to keeping our user experience a priority." For better or worse, it is not run by a large company, they mention working on getting volunteers for moderation, the site feels like a work in progress.

I’ve been thinking a lot about a Rogue One/Star Trek crossover and I can’t contain my brain anymore.

A warning: this does allude to potential spoilers for DS9.

I picture Cassian as Commander Andor, first officer of Captain Draven on the USS Fleming. He’s a quarter Vulcan (his mother’s side), which always gave him a bit of an edge in problem solving and the art of keeping calm. (Yes, his ears have the slightest of points.) However, he sometimes gets that reckless human urge, which allows him to be endlessly creative. He was a regular rule follower until he met Jyn, who kind of changed his whole life. He likes to pretend to resist her bold ideas, but they both know he’s going to follow her no matter what.

Jyn Erso is a half-Bajoran Lieutenant on the security track (Lyra was born on Bajor and was a member of the a Bajoran Resistance cell with Saw Gerrera) who somehow managed to get recruited to Starfleet by Cassian. This was after many years fighting under Saw’s Maquis cell after her mother’s death and father’s kidnapping by Cardassian invaders. Because of her skill, she was fast-tracked through the Academy and now serves on Draven’s ship. She and Cassian butted heads quite a bit over regulations, but that grew into mutual respect and etc. Her favorite place on the ship is the arboretum.

I went back and forth on Kay. He could be an Android, but that felt a bit too easy. Instead, I see him as a Romulan defector. Cassian rescued him during a particularly sensitive mission after Kay was left for dead. He now serves as Chief Science Officer/Cassian’s right hand man. He pretends to hate poker nights, but he always shows up and wins (unless Bodhi is around).

Chirrut is Betazoid, so he has a vast emotional awareness and telepathic abilities. Because he doesn’t have the trademark Betazoid eyes, he is a master at throwing people for a loop. No one expects him to throw back their inner thoughts, but he does because he’s Chirrut. He is the ship’s councilor and a fucking badass in a phaser fight (and what a killer combo it is when his husband is around). He and Baze have a good laugh over the UST between Cassian and Jyn. He was barred from participating in Han’s “when will they” betting pool, but Baze wasn’t so he won anyway lol

Baze screams Klingon to me, though he’s more anti-establishment than most after barely surviving a border skirmish after the Klingon’s attempted invasion of Cardassia. He met Chirrut shortly after and the two have been inseparable ever since. Baze lives by his own personal code of honor and isn’t afraid of a good fight. He and Jyn do Mok’bara (Klingon martial arts) together each morning.

And sweet, lovely Bodhi is a bright ensign on the engineering crew. He’s the pride and joy of his large family as he’s the first to ever join Starfleet and complete academy training. He and Jyn attended at the same time and became fast friends. He tutored Jyn in high-level engineering courses, while she got him combat ready. He kills everyone at poker night when Chirrut isn’t there.

Beautiful Static: The prequel/introduction to the android farming sim 'Skycities and the Forsaken Vol. 1'

It does not follow the MC, rather a secondary character, but still, I hope you'll give it a read and introduce yourself to the setting a bit!

Beautiful Static

As Zizi ran through the halls of the Sky City, no one noticed her among the chaos. One thought kept repeating through her head as she rushed through the alleys and halls:

He’s going to hate me.

But the thought was followed by another.

I don’t care anymore.

Zizi knew exactly what she was doing, and exactly what effect it would have on everyone, on everything, here in Sky City 236. She knew that she would be hated. She knew that the city would fall from the sky. She hoped that perhaps part of the station would still be attached to the pillar, but she didn’t know. Alarms blared all around her, but she didn’t listen. She just hurried. She didn’t know if Zero would follow her or not, but she did know one thing.

She didn’t care. There was life down on the land. She knew that now, and she knew what the leaders were going to do now that they knew.

Declare war once again. On anything alive down there. There were trees again, plants; there were people in the waters that were being plucked from their waters, and even if that was the only remnant of humanity, she couldn’t stand for—

She hesitated as she was walking past a science facility. Huh. A truck that hadn’t been unloaded. Perfect to steal and get out of here.

She walked through the gate, past the blaring sirens. She didn’t give any attention to the people—androids that they were, they were all people—in the room, as they weren’t fighters, but she did fight them off and out of the way, shoving the last one off the ship with her foot as she climbed into the cockpit. She glanced back. There was a waterfolk in a tank. Well. She’d let that passenger come along.

With that, she set off into the unknown. There wasn’t much fuel in this tank, but hopefully enough to make it to the ground safely, hopefully to water to let her new ‘friend’ free.

She glanced back one last time, and saw him, his eyes troubled, as he shoved past everyone, reaching his hands out of the closing city behind her. She sighed and gave a bitter smile as she turned away for the last time.

He would make it. She had turned his anti-G mode on high enough to get him to the ground intact. The rest? Well…

The rest was nothing but a field of beautiful static. That was all life was, after all…

An anomaly. Static in a void. Beautiful static in a void.

Zero

Zero had been trying to catch up to Zizi for weeks, no, months, but she was so many steps ahead of him. He had seen that she was on the list to be Recycled and did his best to push it to the back of the line—he couldn’t find a reason that she was, however...but he thought he had figured it out even before the sirens blared in Sky City 236, even before he finally, finally caught a glimpse of her. She was corrupted.

She must’ve been infected by a virus in her work. That was why she was off work! It had to be. She had to have put herself on leave so that she could try to work out the virus. To work through it, get rid of it—but Zero should’ve noticed sooner, it shouldn’t have taken her being on the Recycling list. He should’ve been there—He should have been there for her!

Instead, he was so focused in on his work. So focused in on himself, trying to come up with a way to propose to her, thinking that he had to be perfect—and in it, he had nearly lost her—well…

Not so much...nearly. She was clearly corrupted beyond saving...well, had anyone tried after someone was that far along? He didn’t know. They were always Recycled. She had been pushing him away, telling him that she just needed rest, a break...but when he looked up her records she had been doing anything but staying still.

Zero should have noticed sooner. Zizi was everything to him. Zizi…

He reached his hand out through the closing wall, watching her fly off. He swallowed.

This city was going to fall from the sky. If he was going to die...he wanted to touch open air just once.

And so, he shoved his way through the opening, throwing himself out of the city. He saw the flailing bodies of many others who had chosen the same, but…

He wasn’t...falling as quickly. Still, he watched Zizi and the ship flying downward way faster than he did, but in a controlled manner. She’d reach the ground before him at this rate. Why was he falling so slowly.

Wait...the last call they’d been on. The email that Zizi sent...it pinged. It had...an update?

Was that why he was—no, he was going to be corrupted, too! That’s the worst thing that could possibly happen to him, worse than falling with the rest of the city, worse than being Recycled—right?

Right?

Zizi was corrupted, right?

And...he had to find her. Save her. If he...if he made it to the ground safe.

Maybe he wasn’t going to be corrupted too, but Zizi was...there was no cure, but he’d find one. He’d find a way to save her. Because...because she’d save him.

Zizi

The ship made it to the ground, but not much further. It sputtered out of power, luckily near some river somewhere. She sighed and looked at the tank with the river person. She sighed and walked over.

“Wonder how heavy you are, big guy?” she pondered as she tried to figure out how to open the tank. “I’d love to know all about your life, your culture, everything...I’d bet it’d be fascinating.” She sighed.

She jumped back with a yelp as he pounded his tail against the sides of the tank, trying to break it. “Hey, hey! I’m trying to help you out of there!” she said. “I know you can’t understand me, probably, but…”

She paused for a moment before sighing. “Well. If breaking’s the only way, then…” She shifted her hand into a point that ended in a blunt tip. She pressed it against the glass with all her might, and the glass shattered. The entire tank. “Hope that didn’t hurt you, big guy.”

She jumped backwards as tail switched to legs and he climbed to his feet, all seven feet tall of him. He looked at her calmly before looking himself over for injuries. He cleared his throat. “Thank you,” he hissed out of vocal chords clearly not used to such speech.

“Uh...you’re welcome.” She blinked a few times. “Uh...Do you need any more help?”

“Probably not that you can offer.”

“Hit me with it.”

“This is a river, but I don’t know in what way it connects with the one where my mate is. I was captured—but you seem to know that much.”

“Oh…” She swallowed.

“But, you might be able to help—but you seemed to have some kind of plan, and I don’t want to interrupt it.”

“No. No plan. Just…” She sighed and looked away. “No plan. What the hell was I thinking?!? Am I corrupted?!?” She laughed bitterly. “There was a plan. But now that I’m here, now that my home is falling from the sky in pieces…”

“What was the plan?”

Zizi was quiet in response...she didn’t have one at that moment.

“I can’t stay out of the water much longer.”

“This thing has a boat on it.”

“It has a motor.”

“It’ll row.”

“With what?”

She laughed lightly and shifted her arms into long oars. “I can’t let my core get wet, but I certainly can let my arms get wet.” She shifted them back.

“What are you?”

“Android.”

“Eh?”

“Uh...artificial human?”

“Oh...that makes sense.” He tilted his head.

“You have a name, big guy?”

“Aura. You?”

“Zizi.”

“Right. Zizi...if we have to meet the sea, just know, the seafolk are a violent group. I know that I can’t take them on—but you might be able to figure out how to get us away.”

“Can do.” She smiled. “Now, to the water you go.”

He got into the water, and Zizi got the boat and put it on the water.

“You ready?” He asked, popping his head out of the water.

“Yep. Just pop up once in a while.”

“I...I’m not great with rivers,” Aura admitted. “I’m a lakefolk, but my mate was teaching me how to be a riverfolk.”

“They sound nice.”

“He is…”

“Let’s get you back to him.”

“Right…”

And so, they started their way down the river.

“What about you?”

“Huh?” Zizi asked, looking down into the water at Aura.

“Do you have a mate?”

Zizi paused. “Yeah...I guess I do. Or rather, did.” Zizi looked up toward the sky, where the city once stood. Instead, only rubble.

“Oh. He fell with the city.”

Zizi swallowed. “But that’s okay.” She nodded.

“That’s...okay?”

Zizi shook her head. “You see, I was corrupted.”

“Corrupted?”

“I actually prefer the term ‘enlightened’. Basically, through a virus, I was attached to the mainframe, and overcome by horrible, horrible knowledge.” She sighed.

“I recognized the last part of it, so I think I understand.”

Zizi smiled. “But that’s okay. He’s with me now. In my head.”

“Your mate?”

“No. Another.” She smiled and closed her eyes. “He understands me better than Zero ever did. Though, I do wish that Zero didn’t hate me.” Zizi sighed. “I don’t regret knocking down the city as I went. They were kidnapping you water folk. Saw signs of life and were going to exterminate it. It was awful! I couldn’t let that happen, and then he unlocked powers within me. Now I can transform my own body. I can touch others to change their composition as well.”

“Huh. That’s fascinating. We’d just say you went insane.” Aura sounded calm as he said so. “Or, perhaps, as you said, ‘enlightened.’”

Zizi nodded. “Yeah…I know. But as for me. I was on the list for Recycling. Or, being scrapped, in other words.”

“Oh. Killed.”

“Yeah.” She nodded. “Maybe I didn’t have to go out in such a blaze of glory, but hey, I saved you in it.” She smiled. “No regrets. He’s with me now.” She closed her eyes. “He hasn’t spoken to me in a while, but he will again, I just know it. And when he does, I’ll be ready.”

“I hope that you don’t harm me or those I love, otherwise, you do you.”

She sighed. “I won’t. With Sky City 236 gone, all there is is...beautiful, beautiful static.”

I ain't talking related to the rebellion, btw. I'm talking about those mfs that keep the whole "androids never complain about anything" discourse and shit, Anti-Androids joking they're stupid virgins that can't deal with a real person. Kinda like Hank, y'know.

Then the rebellion start, androids deviate and don't wanna be seen as tools anymore.

Would a shift in opinion happen? Would the previous Anti-Androids mfs support the androids uprising (even if it's just to fuck with the previously android lovers) and the android lovers start complaining about AIs wanting too much? Would they all end up with the same opinion? 😂

Cuz some mfs really find hella creepy people seeing androids as better. Add the Facebook weight and we got some chaos.

At times like this I miss the bullying aspect, kinda like Ben joking about Hank getting an android (after all Hank is a well known android-hater by his pals). I also know android lovers would joke on people "trapped in the past", saying things like "it's inevitable, u guys just wanna stop the progress". It's pretty clear Detroit 2038 is already a worn place, the public opinion is mostly hostile about everything. They're already used to android bullshit, been at least 13yrs.

But at the same time we got younger people, the elderly and shit. I think things are/should be more dynamic than the appearance.

random simarkus fic idea

yippee! (totally wasnt inspired by a song)

it takes place in 2039, and markus wakes up to find simon leaving jericho. he asks simon why, and simon says that he doesnt need to be in jericho anymore, the revolution is won and everything is peaceful, but markus doesnt believe him and presses further. simon ends up saying without directly saying that hes love with markus, despite markus and north being together. simon tells markus that if north breaks his heart, markus will know where to find simon. and with that, simon leaves.

cut to november 2040, and sure enough north (unintentionally) broke markus' heart: she was killed by anti-android protestors. and markus goes to find simon. he looks everywhere in detroit, asking anybody, everybody if they saw simon, to no avail. Until someone says "yes, i have seen him". and he leads Markus to a grassy field just outside detroit. sure enough, simon is sitting in the field, holding a bouquet of dandelions and staring at the sky.

markus, having finally understood that simon had always been in love with him, quietly joins simon. they talk for a bit, about north, about jericho, about why simon left. And Markus finally tells Simon "I love you, too."

and then smoochies :)
