Why Sakura Haruno is literally the best written character in Naruto - a rant.
Tumblr media
She is the epitome of Narutos meaning.
So, main question is, what is Naruto about? On most surfaces level - about fox-boy having adventures, but that's not why most of us fell in love with the story. Below fox-boy, was fighting against your odds, learning, failing, getting back up, trying and becoming stronger, and most importantly about this quote:
"You dont have to be born a genius, you can become one".
This is what Naruto was about.
Arc with Haku and Zabuza? Find someone worth fighting for and become stronger for that person.
Chunnin exams? Naruto gives his all against Neji, to prove him, that you don't have to be born special, you can become special.
3rd Hokage vs Orochimaru - will of fire, that pushes you to protect your family, will keep the village alive.
Naruto vs Gaara - you can be hated and ignored all your life for your weakness, but if you keep trying people will notice you.
And so on and do forth.
But then we learned that Naruto was born to hokage and an Uzumaki. He got shit ton of chakra and a LITERAL beast in him to protect him. He was born great and to be great.
He failed his own narrative.
Menwhile Sakura was born a civilian, a noone, no magic eyes, no beast to help, no clan to learn from, nothing. She was an annoying girl with no aspiration. Thats it. Everything else she has is just her hard work and dedication. She become stronger than most of people "born great", just by trying to help people she cares about.
She is everything Naruto was set-up to be.
Is she a perfect person? No. And this is exactly what makes her a perfect character.
She's is flawed, she's sometimes emotional, she's not always confident and not always THE BEST BECAUSE PLOT.
SHE IS THE MOST HUMAN AND THE MOST INSPIRING.
And its annoying af when people dont understand her character, because that shows they didn't understand the story AT ALL.
She did her best and made mistakes but grown because of them.
Oh i was weak and couldn't protect my friends when they needed me? I'll do my best now, and try to be better next time.
Tumblr media
She didn't give up and decided "well I'm weak so I'll stay that way". She trained under the strongest kunoichi of her time, who was beating her till she was unconscious and had many of her bones broken, because "Tsunade can heal her later".
Sakura from beginning would just give up, because 1) why bother when she can be pretty and 2) it hurts and takes time so it's easier to give up.
But she has grown.
AND THE WORST OF ALL IS that she gets shit for everything Naruto is praised for.
Naruto is understanding Sasuke and wants him to be back - great friend.
Sakura does the same (she understands him even more in first part- she is the only one who know that Sasuke is about to leave the village)- delusional SIMP (even when it was stated in manga that she didn't want him to herself, she wanted to safe him).
Naruto throws himself into fight he has no chance in to be a distraction - WOW SO SMART. HE IS GREAT.
Sakura does the same - weak. Delusional.
Naruto is always getting help during fights - he wins by himself.
Sakura gets bit of help from Chiyo (even when Chiyo stated herself that Sakura didn't need her) - WELL SHE DID NOTHING, IT WAS CHIYOS FIGHT.
Tumblr media
Naruto is rude to everyone, BUT GROWS FROM IT- he was just a kid, that doesn't matter. He is a different person now.
Sakura was rude to someone, qpologies and grows from it - ITS UNFORGETTABLE. SHES A B*TCH.
What you all expected her to do?
- She is weak! - she became strong. BUT NOT AS STRONG AS THE STRONGEST, so its shit.
- She's rude to Naruto and made fun of a orphan - she was one of first people who cared about Naruto and opened a clinic for children's mental health - BUT WHEN SHE WAS 12 SHE SAID BAD THING SO STILL A B*TCH.
- She couldn't help Naruto and Sasuke in forests of death - she became a healer - BUT SHE DIDN'T HEAL EVERYONE EVERYTIME.
- She is useless - she isn't, she saved many people (including Naruto), and was especially useful during pain invasion - BUT WHEN NOONE COULD DO A THING AGAINST PAIN SHE COULDN'T ALSO SO SHES TRASH.
She gets trashed for things other people do and noone even bats an eye.
- But she punched Naruto! - so did Guy to Lee but you love them both and their relationship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've never seen someone call guy "abusive".
- But she was mean to Naruto! - so was everyone else, but I've never seen them risk their life to safe Naruto or his dream.
Tumblr media
- But she only cares about Sasuke - no, no she doesn't, she cares for MANY PEOPLE like Naruto, Shikamaru ect. She even takes Naruto's side against Sasuke.
Tumblr media
She also did many shitty things, don't get me wrong (like fight against Ino, I think she needed this to bloom, but it was indeed shit behavior), but so did everyone else.
Example - Naruto:
Tumblr media
TALKING LIKE THAT TO A CHILD WHO LOST ALMOST EVERYTHING????? UNFORGETTABLE. RIGHT? Right?
About people like Sasuke, Gaara, Hinata, Neji, 3rd Hokage ect. I'm not going to talk because it will be material for whole different posts and it's already getting too long.
In summary:
You all are just Nejis from chunnin exams.
"Either you are born perfect or die a failure."
You all are just villagers form beginning of the series.
"WELL SOMEONE DID A BAD THINGS AT THE BEGINNING AND WAS WEAK SO I HATE THEM"
You all didn't understand Naruto as a story at all.
She is a perfect character form Naruto's definition - a noone who became important.

So apparently me saying that antis are the reason why the Sakura fandom has grown as toxic as it has is a problem? Seriously, ya'll will get pressed when a Sakura fan says anything, won't you? I literally didn't even say that "you should like Sakura!" I said it was okay if you didn't like her, and that I believe there are valid criticisms of her character! The point I was trying to make was that even if we try to respectfully disagree and argue against a statement, the toxic card is pulled on us to make our opinions less valid. There are toxic fans and they unfortunately ruin a lot of what's good about the Sakura fandom, but some of you just like to clump us all together like we're some hive mind that can't think for ourselves. It's really irritating and disheartening. Like, I've made it clear that I do not like Obito. But I would never invalidate/discredit a good argument/criticism just because one of his fans made it.

A while ago, I made a post about hypocritical Sasusaku stans that pretend to be anti Konoha so they can criticize SNS (despite having no grounds to stand on), and in light of recent annoying discourse, in this post I'm going to go over a case example at length because this perfectly encapsulates the typical behavior of that fandom.
So let's take a look at this post. In this tweet, they mention their criticism of Sasuke being saved from the darkness at the end. Now in order to deconstruct this post, we have to look at what "darkness" symbolizes in Naruto's text.
Tumblr media
And when you look at the text, you'll see that "darkness" was attributed two distinct, but sometimes interconnected, senses. The first meaning of darkness in the text was loneliness, plain and simple. Wee see pitch black imagery when Naruto recounts the pain he experienced before he met Team 7, when he was all alone. And we also see this imagery crop up when Sasuke enters into a shroud of darkness after experiencing the pain of leaving Naruto, who is symbolically represented as the juxtaposed light to Sasuke's darkness. Though he doesn't cut off Naruto, an issue which is the crux of their conflict after the timeskip, the panels of Sasuke talking about pain still serve to contextualize his state of mind when leaving Naruto: "If I leave Naruto, I will experience pain, much pain."
Tumblr media
The second meaning of the darkness is also established during the Sasuke retrieval arc: hatred. Itachi, in his desperation to be judged by Sasuke, forces Sasuke to seek out hatred in order to acheive his goal of avenging the clan by killing Itachi. And of course this meaning of the concept of darkness comes with a host of attendant negative connotations, as darkness is frequently associated with evil — especially in the Christian mythos that Kishimoto drew from.
Tumblr media
Now there is certainly something to be said for Kishimoto's conservative framing, but that's for another post. The purpose of laying out the two meanings of "darkness" invoked in the text was to compare and contrast Sakura and Naruto at the end of the manga and see which particular meaning of darkness was salient in their motivations regarding Sasuke, and well... things don't look good for "sasukeslawyer."
Because Naruto continually reinforces his motivations for saving Sasuke. In the text it's explicitly spelled out that Naruto wants to help ease Sasuke's loneliness. There's a reason why the resolution of their feelings is spurred on by Naruto admitting to feeling pain for Sasuke, the same pain that Kishimoto narratively links to being alone.
Tumblr media
Sakura, on the other hand, wanted to save Sasuke from the darkness of "evil" at the end of the manga. It is established during the 5 Kage Summit that because Sakura "loves" Sasuke, she wants to prevent him from continuing on a path of darkness and progressing towards evil. And Sai's description of Sakura's actions receive authorial endorsement. In this scene, Kishimoto builds up Sai's credibility by having him accurately assess that Sakura was quite likely planning on killing Sasuke and that her smile, when she stated she was planning on working together with her Konoha comrades to acheive that objective, was forced. The reader is given no reason to doubt this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But most significantly, not once does the text show Sakura reneging on her beliefs about Sasuke's darkness. When we get insight into her feelings about Sasuke during the war arc, it is made blatantly clear that she distrusts him which is shown through the same fake smile she showed Sai before heading off to kill Sasuke. Additionally Sakura's to desire to save Sasuke from the darkness is reinforced, this time through another mouthpiece in Kakashi. And athough Kakashi is not the most reliable character, the text doesn't contradict this particular fact.
But Kakashi's reliability doesn't particularly matter for this post because "sasukeslawyer" and most other sasusaku fans believe Kakashi to be a reliable character that understands all of Sakura's actions. As indicated below, she takes no issue with Kakashi's assessment that Sakura wanted to save Sasuke from this negative darkness. And yet, there's no attempted moral harranguing or criticism of Sakura for wanting to save Sasuke from the progression towards evil by *checks notes* killing him. Nor is there criticism of Sakura never changing in this regarding and maintaining that desire to save him from the negatively connoted darkness.
Tumblr media
In fact, "sasukeslawyer," has no problem with the idea of Sasuke, the genocide survivor, traveling for years to reedem himself and be "worthy" of the same Sakura who attempted to kill him on behalf of the same village she claims to hate only when she can use it in an attempt to downplay Naruto and Sasuke's dynamic.
Tumblr media
Like aside from the fact that this obviously isn't true [Kishimoto wrote 9 pages of Sasuke reflecting on his journey in the manga and not once is Sakura mentioned, because he can't individuate her and Sakura had to chase Sasuke on his journey because Sasuke never came back and Sakura couldn't take a hint]...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On what earth is Sasuke not worthy in general, let alone for Sakura, who's shallow romantic inclinations he repeatedly rejected to begin with. It is Sakura who didn't take accountability for trying to kill Sasuke instead of bothering to find out why Sasuke took the actions he took. She is never forced to reflect even once on how she acted towards Sasuke nor do we ever see her make a single negative or critical statement about the shinobi system. But these alleged anti-Konoha warriors have no complaints about that, and that's because it's not about them disliking Konoha or the elders who deserve to die. It's about them trying to undermine SNS because they resent Naruto and Sasuke's dynamic and want to prop up SS. But don't just take my word for it.
They take the canonical scenes of Sasuke looking at Naruto, which mirrored Sakura's own body language towards Sasuke, in order to attribute it to Sakura (this is one of many examples).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The sharingan is obviously a reflection of love and Naruto was explicitly associated with Sasuke's sharingan on three different ocassions. Kishimoto cared so little for SS that he couldn't even bother to associate a crucial element of Sasuke's character with Sakura in manga that he wrote with his own hands. So Sasusaku have to use filler novels that Kishimoto didn't write, let alone acknowledge, to say that Sasuke would transform a new and unheard of sharingan if he lost Sakura. LOL.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There's the editing the panels of VOTE 2 to claim that Sasuke made Sakura watch Naruto and Sasuke's personal memories, despite the fact that 1. We clearly see the only thing Sasuke shows Sakura is a violent genjutsu of her getting stabbed in the chest.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. The manga utilizes clear visual language to depict the transition from memories into real life to indicatr who is thinking about the memories, something not present in the panel that Sakura wakes up from which makes because
3. Naruto and Sasuke thought about memories which Sakura wasn't even present for and Sasuke cannot telepathically transmit memories.
And this isnt even all, but the point stands nevertheless. Sasusaku fans harass SNS shippers using fake moral justifications that they don't even abide by. Don't be fooled. It's always been about their frustrations over the romantic tones in SNS. But it won't change the fact that more than anyone else, Naruto and Sasuke both saved eachother from the darkness of loneliness more than anybody else.

Me, literally in the actual post: In a way, and this is not to diminish some of the writing problems the author has, Ino is a nice representation of how Kishimoto is actually capable of writing a girl with a simple crush on a boy, who still prioritizes friends and comrades above the man she likes. Sakura's behavior, therefore, can't be attributed to Kishimoto not "knowing how to write women", but to him giving Sakura specific characteristics that just happen to be disliked by the fandom. In retaliation, her stans decide to blame such personality traits on his "incapability" to write female characters before giving them the actual relevance they have over Sakura's character.

Hey everyone,
I need to address something troubling that's been happening recently. There's been a rise in disgusting, mean-spirited comments online targeting Hinata and her fans, specifically coming from a girl named Gabby Erdman. This kind of behavior isn’t just rude—it’s outright cyberbullying. Using public platforms to spread hate and disrespect is unacceptable and harmful.
Hinata and her fans deserve to engage with the community positively, just like everyone else. No one should have to face this kind of abuse. We need to call out these harmful actions and support each other against such negativity. Let's work together to create a kinder, more respectful online space. 🌟
#StopCyberbullying #SupportHinata #KindnessMatters
I want to address a concerning issue that’s been popping up more frequently: the misuse of character hatred as a form of cyberbullying. It’s crucial to recognize that disliking a fictional character should never justify attacking, threatening, or bullying others.
When people let their negative feelings towards a character turn into harassment against fans, creators, or anyone associated, it crosses the line from healthy critique to harmful cyberbullying. This behavior is not only hurtful but can also escalate into serious threats, which is unacceptable.
We need to remember that it’s perfectly fine to dislike a character or disagree with a storyline. However, using that disdain as an excuse to harass or threaten others is not justifiable and should not be tolerated. Let’s focus on fostering respectful discussions and addressing differences without resorting to personal attacks or intimidation.
Together, we can create a safer, more supportive community where everyone can express their opinions without fear of being bullied. Let’s work towards constructive conversations and kindness in all our interactions. 🌟
Cyberbullying is more than just hurtful comments and online harassment—it can lead to significant issues like inequality and bad behavior. When people are targeted online, it not only affects their mental health but can also perpetuate a culture of fear and division.
The impact of cyberbullying extends beyond the individual. It reinforces harmful stereotypes, creates hostile environments, and can lead to systemic inequality by discouraging diverse voices and perspectives. Additionally, when people see or experience cyberbullying, it can normalize bad behavior and contribute to a cycle of negativity and intolerance.
We must address cyberbullying not just as a personal issue, but as a societal problem that affects how we interact and respect each other. Promoting empathy, support, and respectful dialogue online is crucial in combating these issues and fostering a more inclusive and positive digital space.
Let’s work together to create an environment where everyone feels safe and valued, and where we stand up against inequality and harmful behavior. 🌟

Okay, now that the previous polls will hopefully keep on running in the background, I'd like to discuss some things with my mutuals and followers (and honestly, everybody else who feels affected) after an anon brought something up to me.
Basically, it's about aggressive, defensive S@suke stans.
Aggressive, because they will hate and shit on every character - often disproportionally or beating a dead horse. Defensive, because they will act like any healthy criticism of S@suke is hate or will reject the notion that S@suke is anything but perfect.
Is this an experience/sentiment you share?
This is not a post to attack S@suke FANS but to criticize the behavior of S@suke STANS. Because if this is truly a pattern inside this fandom, we need to talk about it.
I have added some further information (statistics) into the comments.
While I am making a poll, I'd actually prefer if you shared your opinions in the comments and reblogs as well!

A tiny parallel between Sasuke & Sakura
Sasuke – Ch. 181
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sakura – Ch. 319
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bonus : Ch. 181 (again)
Tumblr media
The crescent moon, which symbolises Sasuke, is a constant in all three. Coincidence? I think not.

If I could write an essay on why sakura isn’t as bad as people say she was, how she’s unfortunately wasted potential, how her love interest is one of her biggest flaws, how SP did her dirty, how Kishimoto did her dirty, how she’s not a “bitch” for having good intentions, how A LOT of female characters were done dirty despite what some fans like to argue, how she should have been able to have her own jutsu’s/moves, how SasuSaku could have worked/be better liked, why she’s one of my favourite characters and why she’s my comfort character, I would.
The question is would anyone be able to handle how long that would be/actually want to read it XD

It is funny that you call me a misogynist for not giving in to Sakura's romantic advances. So much energy wasted in playing feminism champion when you can't even understand consent.
