I didn't care about him last year, I didn't care about him when he was dropping stinker in AT this year and I don't care about him now that he is getting dropped. like stop acting like I'm morally obliged to be distraught about it. like he could've fallen off the face of the earth and I wouldn't have cared. cause I don't know him and don't care about him. and i can't be arsed to fake it. also you are dealing with m*rko so you should've at the least expected that.

Nyck de Vries is incredibly overrated as a driver and the only reason so many fans hype him to "destroy" Yuki is because he's white and well-spoken.

"Oh he was an F2 Champion"-Yeah in his 3rd season and his biggest competition was Latifi.

"He was an FE champion"- in one of the series worst seasons with terrible management and he got pummelled once those aspects were fixed

"He got points in a Williams on debut"- It was literally the Williams' strongest track. I'll give him credit for stepping in last minute but that's it.

Its funny how he's treated as some kind of mature counterpart to Yuki (don't get me started on the racist framing of all that) when he had a terrible on-track reputation in FE

The man is here because of connections. If he was the generational talent people claimed he was, he wouldn't have been passed over again and again

I mean, I like Nyck but only bc hes actually a decent dutch guy, I generally have to agree w all this especially the 'bc hes white and well spoken' a lot of the nyck v yuki stuff feels so fuckinf bullshit and racist.

but I do feel like I have to point out hes like quarter Indonesian so, he is asian I think its his grandma thats Indonesian

Including the one today, we've had four mid-season driver swaps in the last ten years (Danill and Max, Carlos getting loaned to Renault triggering a Toro Rosso seat roulette, Alex and Pierre) and somehow Red Bull has been involved with all of them... always at the scene of the crime, you could say....

I'm both impressed and pissed off at Helmut Marko's ability to insult both his former and current drivers simultaneously. Insinuating that Yuki only complimented Nyck's feedback to improve the car was because Yuki doesn't understand English is not quite racist but it's definitely racial and insulting to his language skills and intelligence. At the same time, he's insulting Nyck's skills in car development as if he wasn't Merc's reserve driver for literal years. All this, just to justify his cruel decision to axe Nyck before the season was halfway over.

the hype around daniel coming back is insane and i’m so happy he’s back, believe me. that man owns my heart. and i missed his goofy ass like crazy.

but let’s not ignore the fact that nyck’s situation was handled extremely unfairly and shitty. i expected nothing less of rbr to do this to a young driver who hasn’t even completed one whole season in F1 but we should talk about it anyways. nyck being fired halfway through the season with what appears to be no prior notice is unjust and unfair and just so unsportsmanlike from top to bottom. helmut marko using every old man ass breath of his to shit talk him whenever he could UNPROMPTED — no. what a godawful organization with absolutely no humanity.

i hope nyck holds his head high and realizes he deserves so much better than this. i hope to see him fall back into motorsports in some way shape or form where he can thrive with a team and organization and environment that respects him and helps him flourish. 🤍

The fact F1 has barely acknowledged Nyck in this whole saga is fucking heartbreaking. Literally all the posts on social media are about Daniel being back yet not one mentions Nyck in any way. All Nyck has got is two sentences off Franz Tost. It's so cruel.
