"Why wouldn't Alicent just marry Helaena to Jace?! It'd solve their problems and merge their families and soothe hurt feelings and-"
If Westeros' as a whole held the belief that bastards, at their core, are more aggressive, lustful, prone to madness, and just evil, why would she put her daughter in that position?
If Alicent knew her father, everyone close to her, and herself would wage war in Aegon's name over his Right to the Throne, why would she give her daughter over?
If people believed that Rhaenyra was the type to murder her siblings, why would she give her Helaena's head?
If people believed Daemon would murder his wife, why would she put Helaena in the position to have an 'unfortunate accident' or 'difficult birth'?
If there was ever an inclination that Westeros would rebel against an obvious bastard on the Throne, why would she put Helaena in the position to become Elia Martell?
And its bold of you to believe that this one girl, would solve all of Rhaenyra's problems. That this one girl, would hold these two families together. That either Helaena or Alicent had an obligation to soothe hurt feelings when their family was the hurt party.

Team black saying it was completely understandable for Daemon to throw a fit when Otto suggested Aegon the younger become Aegon ii’s cupbearer as part of a peace treaty between them and the blacks ( which, might I add was quite generous considering Rhaenyra would keep dragon stone and her bastards would be legitimized and would get to keep driftmark ) because it might make him a hostage and at the same time completely failing to understand why Alicent rejected Rhaenyra’s laughable marriage proposal between Jace and Helaena which would make Helaena a hostage never fails to make me laugh. And again Otto said Aegon the younger and Viserys would be offered positions at court, not that the greens demand they be taken. That part wasn’t even an essential condition of the peace offering, the greens only included it to offer a respectable position for Daemon’s sons.
The point is if you can understand why Daemon would be hesitant to let his sons go to the greens court as cupbearers, why can’t you understand Alicent wanting to protect Helaena from the very same ( or arguably even worse ) thing?? Why should Alicent let her daughter marry a bastard and be taken to dragonstone with the blacks were she and her egg laying dragon would be used to keep the greens at bay?

They are people who get angry when we say that Helaena would have been more happier with Jace and the Blacks than the Greens make me laugh (and I speak well for the HOTD version, because from what I remember, there is no betrothal proposal for Helaena and Jace in Fire and Blood and I believe it was Viserys who betrothed Aegon II to Helaena).
And I don't understand why this annoys them ?
Helaena's life would have been much better.
She would have married a good man, had a better entourage, with a little luck, one of the members of the Blacks would have been able to understand her gift and she might have had children who this time would have survived and not been killed as a revenge for Luke's death.
Literally, people are screaming foul at this idea because of Blood and Cheese except... well Blood and Cheese probably wouldn't have happened if Helaena had married Jace.
Be careful, I warn you that I am 100% a fan of Jace & Baela (Jacaela) ! But it's a little thought that I just had of Helaena character in HOTD.

If Aegon//Helaena has one hater that is Harry Collett. He's so real for this! In a couple of days he has called the pairing abusive, he said that he and his character feel sorry for Helaena being with Aegon and has said that Jace x Baela love each other and aren't forced to be together like Aegon//Helaena.
And honestly? He's right and he should say it!
I know that Aegon has more fans than Helaena so it's rarely addressed in the fandom but she really deserved better than to marry her older, rapist brother. Poor girl :///
Now for my fellow Jace x Baela fans:
Have you noticed the anti parallels between them and Aegon//Helaena?
Both couples are arranged by their parents and it's among close relatives(siblings and step-siblings/cousins).
However, while Jace and Baela always had a soft spot for each other ( like when they held hands as kids) the same can't be said for Aegon and Helaena ( remember the scene where Aegon complained that he had to marry her one day bc he found her weird).
According to the actors portraying Jace and Baela, in season 2 their mutual grief and the upcoming war will bring them closer as they will trust and be there for each other.
Meanwhile, the actors portraying Aegon and Helaena said that even when they have common grief ( aka implying post B&C incident) they can't find comfort in each other. And that's sad bc they aren't only spouses but siblings as well.
I find the anti parallels between these two arranged marriages/betrothals very interesting.

Watching this video essay about Yellowjackets and somehow HOTD came up and I saw the tweet and I roll my eyes so hard
Uh. Yeah. Bc she uses the faith (basically Catholicism or Christianity) to act as this pious queen when she is paying maids to keep their mouths shut about her own son raping them.
And she didn't just hang up some four pointed stars, if I remember, she REPLACED, the targs sygils with the faith of the seven stuff.
Alicent stans just love to forget her fanaticism until they can use it to make her look more pathetic. I have to say, accusing Rhaenyra of religious fanaticism is a new to me lmao. I've only ever seen people call her a godless whore, but I'm not on X, so maybe I've been spared.
Targaryen antis don't seem to grasp just how much of the Valyrian culture the Targaryens have given up for the sake of Westeros. Calling the Valyrian wedding ceremony an "arcane marriage ritual" is not only insulting to the Valyrian culture but also completely hypocritical.
Valyrian culture was steeped in magic, they themselves have magic in their blood. Is it any surprise their marriage customs would be the same? That's like expecting the Starks' ceremonies to happen separate from the Old Gods. The Targaryens have given up their gods, most of their magic, their language, and their marriage traditions. They never forced other people to follow their traditions, they never forbade following the Faith and the Old Gods, they fucking conformed as much as possible aside from the incest, which was the only way they know to preserve the last bit of Valyria's magic.
Alicent wouldn't be seen as a religious extremist if she didn't actively repress and hate other religions. She badmouths the Valyrian traditions, not just the incest, but also their love of dragons and their art. She removes all the Valyrian and Targaryen heraldry and artifacts and replaces them with the the symbols of a religion known for being intolerant and repressive.
As I said earlier, the Valyrian culture is dying out and the Targaryens have given up so much of their mother land. Removing the last pieces of someone's culture just because you follow a different religion is fucked up. Alicent isn't even the actual ruler or a Targaryen, it's not her place to choose to abandon their Valyrian heritage while her husband is too sick to interfere.
But the real issue of Alicent's actions are her motivation. She doesn't actually care about morality and her own religion, she cares about supporting Aegon and undermining Rhaenyra. That's why she criticizes Valyrian incest then turns around and forces Helaena to marry Aegon. That's why she calls Jace and Luke savages when her own son bullies his siblings constantly and later rapes women. That's why she harps on about honor and decency while actively protecting and covering up the actions of a rapist, a murderer, and a kinslayer. That's why she removes the Valyrian heraldry while Rhaenyra is gone and replaces them with the symbols of the Faith.
She's literally the definition of the hypocritical woman for Trump. She harps on and on about morals then turns around and does reprehensible things for her own gain. She complains constantly about a culture different from hers and actively tries to remove its influence. She hates people who don't conform to her ideas.
Alicent isn't a good person, period. She's a hypocrite, constantly upholds the patriarchy, sacrifices others for the sake of her interests, and is xenophobic. The efforts to take her flaws and project them on other characters, usually Rhaenyra, by her stans is ridiculous and really shows how little they actually like her character. They like her aesthetic and the idea of a perfect suffering victim.

I don't see why we as green fans can't complain or say anything at all about Aemond's characterization and the overuse of certain tropes in fics when black fans do it all the time also?? Be it Aemond/OC, Aemond/Rhaena, Aegon fics paired with OCs or team black characters like Baela, Daemon/Alicent or even pure time travelling crackships like Aemond/Sansa or Sansa paired with any team green guy (yes some of them have complained about this as well because allegedly if Sansa were to time travel back in the Dance era she would only fall in love with Jace! Fine! But guess what no team black stan who has complained about this aspect has written or comissioned a fic with her and their guy, they just complain that the already existing ones aren't about what they want) and they will always find time to lash out on their accounts about how the evil green authors are mischaracterizing the team black OCs or already existing characters. At least we are not leaving hate comments or criticism that nobody asked for (or I hope no one does this! Please don't!) on the fics we read and were disappointed by (and didn't even mention them as examples in these asks).
Anonymous asked: okay i’m game for some anti-lucemond inbox antagonism. while op did indeed make some good points regarding the formulaic nature of aemond x OC i still contend they do not know the difference between a minor character and a plot device. helaena is a minor character, the cargyll twins are minor characters, laenor is a minor character, heck with a bit of massaging and extrapolating harwin could be consider a minor character. Unlike strong boy #2 at least I can say what they were doing between their respective time jumps. helaena — having babies, enjoying her bugs cargylls — aegon watch + introspection which results on them being on different sides laenor — fighting in wars, hanging with his boyfriend, parenting (?) harwin — bangin’ rhaenyra, being a goldcloak, preparing to take on a lordship (just cause harrenhall is practically unliveable doesn’t mean they don’t have peasants in the vicinity to tax I suppose idk) These are characters. They have jobs and hobbies, actual relationships. lucerys in contrast, what has he being doing for the 6 years during the time skip. training? possibly, all we know about him is that he gets his ass handed to him in a fight and gets seasick. what are his hobbies? does he have any responsibilities? friends? anything? I will grant he seems to have a decent grasp of HV. during the incident Aemond in his anxiety starts giving his command in English whereas Luke maintains HV when commanding Arrax, for all the good that it did. maybe there is something there, but I don’t want to read into it too much it because it was likely more for the audience than a way to develop the characters because those are commands not sentences, like jace was working on. Speaking of Jace, even he has something going for him, minor though it was — he trains, attends meetings, is not doing so good in his LOTE classes, really doesn’t like his stepdad, still cannot take a joke. Jace has some serious emotional problems which could be worth exploring, but Lucerys? Nothing, nada, zilch. Who is this person It seems Lucerys only role was to gas up rhaenyra; just so we in the audience know she is in fact perfect, make this face ☹️ in the background of scenes, smirk one time like a asshole, and then die. he is not a character, and while I initially had no problem with him, beyond a mild distaste because he hurt aemond (I actually put more blame on Jace) the way TB started riding this non entity so hard for the last year just made me loathe lucerys. Lucemond can occasionally be fun. I like the fics which are just absurd AUs but anyone who actually takes it seriously. The folks who insist on ‘Fated Feud’ or whatever it’s called, are reaching so hard they might tear something, pretending there is any chemistry or motivation for this relationship. And don’t get me started on the ones who call Luke the pearl of driftmark, that makes me want vom. But people need to quit pretending Lucerys is something other than a plot device, first blood in the DoD, that is all. I hope him and this ship goes away soon. [anyway sorry you’ve got to be the repository for this nonsense. How do you like your aegond? The thing which should have been the main mlm ship for this ridiculous fandom.]
ironically this is probably exactly the type of content the previous anon wanted to avoid 😂 but you can't expect to go in someone's inbox looking for drama, stirring the hornets' nest so to speak, and not expect a reaction. surely everyone can deal with their inbox messages whichever way they want, on the spectrum of not bothering to react at all vs ranting about it. i don't subscribe to this idea that you should hold your mouth shut and refrain from any kind of critical diatribe bc the other side might see it and might be up in their feelings about it.
absolutely not referring to vitriolic hateposting or other forms of bullying, but the institution of the Rant is sacred and must be protected. you can be annoyed at some fandom stuff and simply want a space to air out those thoughts - ofc you're going to be posting in designated fandom platforms, bc it looks deranged to complain about this IRL. i feel that people need to accept that users should have their own barbie playground, but, equally, there should be some spaces (keeping a respectful distance ofc) where criticism or just random rants about that thing can happen, undoubtedly respecting the parameters of decency and not resorting to crazy insults
i agree (and this is a v important caveat) that it becomes bizarre when it's the same people doing it every day, bc then it turns into an unhealthy hyperfixation which you might want to interrogate, but once in a while it can be cathartic, like shooting the shit with your bffs. moderation is key to everything, we can all co-exist and get along without taking everything to heart
this isn't even about lucemond, honestly, it's more of a general fandom criticism, because this is not the first time i've encountered people who simply refuse to mute the tags, willingly read the anti posts, find themselves irked by something, then vent their frustrations on OP
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
as for luke being a plot device vs a minor character, i can't say i''m too bothered about that distinction to argue either way. minor characters can also be plot devices and he is effectively fridged for rhaenyra's and jace's) pain. i do think he has more going for him in the show, like they really tried to give him more screen time towards the end and focus a little on his supposedly conflicting feelings about inheriting driftmark & his bastardy
anyway the "how do you like your aegond" sent me 🤣 i'm really drawn to modern setting AUs for some reason! the constraints of modern society are like a breeding ground for angst
#anyway idk how this reads but i promise i'm not up in arms abt it#i'm honestly more amused than anything#anti lucemond#fandom critical#ask#anon

What do you think about some hodt ships? for example Jacegon or... Lucemond xD
Jacegon? Jace x Aegon? Lolol. I don't think I've come across that.
Lucemond... I mean, I'm into enemies to lovers, but I take eye injuries seriously irl, so that's a no go. Luke's kind of a Crab/Goyle 'unskilled bully' to me, and I don't really like bully romance... Light, playground bullying, maybe, but not physical permanent maiming. I just can't get into it, so I filter it out on here and AO3 along with Daemyra, just for my peace of mind.
I'm not a ship hater, really. I'm anti-daemyra because it's built on the back of Laena killing herself and Laenor being exiled, with a bunch of shippers going "good for them," but otherwise, I don't really think about it at all.
I'm not into helaemond or helaegon because I see them as more Hightower-leaning and less indoctrinated into the "incest is good" mindset.
What else?
Jace x Baela could probably work, but imo he's just this hothead who talks the talk but can't fight. Like, the bastard stigma is bad enough, but most lords his age are knights or squires or something. Laenor was out fighting in a war. What does Jace do with his day? It's hard for me to ship him with Helaena or Baela.
If he stood up for her being Lady of Driftmark and just became her supportive malewife consort it could work tho 🤷🏾♀️ He's fixable, so idk. With the right tweaks. I've read fics with it and didn't mind it.
I like Alicole, but I also like the platonic co-parenting vibe, and I sort of hc them as two aroace people stranded in Vice City.
I'm weirdly kinda into Aligon.
As one person put it, there's no good incest or bad incest, it's all bad, so don't judge me.😖
Probably a horrible gender bias of mine but I just prefer 'mom x son' to 'uncle x niece' or 'dad x daughter' or even 'bro x sis'. Especially if there's an Oedipus situation in play and the father's a pos and the son feels protective...
(No hate on any targcest ships. I didn't watch Borgias for the plot so I'm not judging anyone 😅, I'm just not interested at all in the canon incest ships offered by hotd.)
I don't really want to see it, because I feel like hotd are setting it up to be super non-con and that they're using larys and dyanna to establish precedence and make it not ooc for either when it happens) but it's interesting/funny to think about it from a one-sided, Aegon perspective where he's like, "Okay, I'm killing dad today and making new laws. I am a father. I have a daughter. Ergo, henceforth, grooming is now illegal. Only sons x milfs from now on."
And Alicent and Criston are like 🤨
(🤣🤣🤣 I am not a serious person)

“Aegon was unfazed by Helaena dancing with Jace, but AEM0ND CARED!! 😏🤭😍”
Ah, yes, totally unfazed...
And in the bookverse (You know, the canon source material that these show writers simply refuse to acknowledge?), he almost starts a full-on fight with Jace over it! 😱
#Book!Aegon: ''THAT'S MY WIFE!'' 😤😤#Show!Aegon: 🥺#Book!Aem0nd: *couldn't give a flying shit*#Show!Aem0nd: 😒#But a real question here: On the show was Aegon upset about Helaena... or about Jace? 👀 Let's be real now. 👀#He is so weird about Jace and he was picking on him for no reason when they used to be best friends.#Like when a kid has a crush but they don't know how to handle it so they just shove their crush into the sandbox. ☕#aegon ii targaryen#aegon x helaena#helaegon#helaegon nation#commentary#hotd commentary#txt#anti helaemond

Targaryen Inc (7/?)
Description: Alyra and Jacaerys talk about his weekend with Helaena and Alyra finally joins Aegon on a night out, so she can ignore her broken heart.
Alyra crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow. “Oh?”
“Helaena came over this weekend to help me work through some stuff with Sarah, and I’m afraid I may have made her uncomfortable.”
“How?”
“We were just talking, and then we got in a tickle fight, and I complimented her, then she basically bolted.” He rubbed the back of his neck. “I apologized, and she told me it was alright, but you know her. She never wants anyone to be upset.”
“Why did you start a tickle fight, that’s a cheesy couple move.”
It was Jacaerys’s turn to hide his face in his hands. “I don’t know, I’ve just been so up and down since Sarah and I broke up, and Helaena was there, being kind and pretty, and I just wanted to see her smile.” He ran his hands down his face then laid them flat on his desk. “I swear her smile could cure cancer; it always makes me feel better.”
“Do you have romantic feelings for her, or are you two just friends? Because if you’re just friends, you need to reevaluate.” Her cousin was toeing the line between friends and something more, and she did not want to see either him or Helaena end up with a broken heart.
“We’re—she’s—it’s Helaena. I love her, she’s a wonderful person, and a great friend. She’s beautiful, smart, kind, loves dogs, and we like the same movies…she’s perfect.”
Alyra sat back in her chair, and just stared at him. Her idiot lawyer cousin was in love with her best friend, and completely blind to it.
“She’s the perfect person, the perfect friend, I love being around her.” He continued, not understanding the meaning of her stare.
“And Aegon just set her up with one of his friends.” She said, resting her chin in one hand, waiting for his reaction.
“Aegon? Aegon’s friends are manwhores. They’ll just take advantage of her and break her heart. I can’t let that happen.” He said, standing up and storming towards the door.
She caught his wrist. “Helaena is really excited about this date; you will not ruin it for her, and you will not use her as a rebound. So, sit down, and make a therapy appointment before you decide to rush over there and declare your love for her.”
“I’m not in love with—Helaena, my flower!” He perked up when Helaena opened his office door.
Helaena smiled at him, then noticed Alyra was in his office as well. “There’s this goth woman by the elevator, and she glared at me when I hugged Aemond.”
“See, she’s a bitch.” Alyra said, throwing her hands in the air for emphasis. “She’s your brother’s date for tonight.”
Helaena sat in the other leather chair and smoothed out her skirt. “I don’t like the energy she gives off; it reminds me of—" She cut herself off, just as Jacaerys had.
Alyra intertwined her fingers, biting the inside of her cheek. “Does everyone know Aemond’s tragic backstory, but me?”
Helaena looked at Jacaerys then back at her. “It’s not something Aemond likes to discuss, he’s very back and forth on how he feels about it.”
After a few more minutes, it was time for them to clock out, and she gathered her things, knocking on Aegon’s office window. “Are you going out tonight?”
“It’s Margarita Monday, of course I’m going out.” He said, grabbing his car keys and shoving them in his pocket.
“Can I come with you?”
Aegon’s face lit up. “Alyra Hawthorne, are you finally asking to come out, with me, on a weekday?” He flung his arms around her, hugging her tightly. “This is going to be so fun; I promise.”
She hugged him back. She herself wasn’t a hugger, but Aegon was, and overtime she’d gotten used to his bear-hug attack-style of celebrating good news. “As long as we don’t go to any strip clubs.”
“You got it, clothing required places only.” He released her, and they made their way down to the parking garage.
Alyra sat beside Aegon drink in hand. They were seated in a private booth, and she was certifiably drunk.
“She’s a bitch, an old goth-hippie bitch.” She yelled over the music.
“Aemond has weird taste, always has.” Aegon yelled back.
“Why go after her when I live down the hall from him? He wouldn’t even have to drive anywhere.” She complained before dissolving into giggles at the shock on Aegon’s face.
His mouth dropped open. “You’re into Aemond?”
“Yes, thoughts?” She said, attempting to sound sober and serious, but failing miserably.
“And prayers, Alyra, thoughts and prayers.” Aegon said, taking a swig of his drink. “Why Aemond?”
Alyra took another sip of her drink. “He’s smart, sweet, good hair, killer jawline, is always respectful, and defends me, he’s so charming. Also, he’s hot, he’s so, so hot.” A flash of silver caught her gaze, and she turned her head. “And he’s right over there…”
Aegon followed her gaze.
“He’s right over there, dancing with that woman, after he invited me to his award thingy, bought me flowers, flirted with me, and said he’d want me close. This is bullshit.” She slammed the rest of her drink down and tapped her nails angrily on the table.
“Don’t let it bother you, you’re too hot for my brother anyways.” Aegon’s said, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Alyra couldn’t tear her eyes away from Aemond and Alys dancing together. “Aemond doesn’t even like clubs, he doesn’t even know any of the songs.” She huffed, grabbing another drink from the bucket in the center of their table.
“He’s a nerd, and she’s a cougar, let’s get out of here, I know this great place down the street that Aemond definitely won’t be at.” Aegon coaxed, standing up and reaching to pull her up with him.
She brushed off his hands. “No, I’m saying something to him.” She made her way out of the booth and attempted to navigate her way through the crowd. She really regretted that last shot, as her legs felt unsteady beneath her, and her vision was swimming. Someone bumped her, and she stumbled forward, catching herself at the last second on a man’s shoulder.
The man turned around and gave her a look that sent a shiver of fear down her spine. She tried to back away, but he grabbed her wrists. She struggled against him, yelling for Aegon, but the music drowned her out.
Suddenly an arm was around her waist, and she was pulled backwards. She elbowed whoever grabbed her, and they shouted her name.
She turned around to find herself chest to chest with Aemond.
His eyes were panicked and scanning her for any injuries. “Are you okay?”
“I…” She was interrupted by the man who grabbed her.
“Hey chill man, I saw her first.”
Aemond’s eyes grew cold, and he pushed her behind him before leaning forward and speaking quietly to the man.
She couldn’t hear what he said, but the man’s face drained of color, and he turned and fled. Pushing through the other people dancing on his way out.
Aemond turned back to her, trailing his hands from her shoulders down to her wrists checking for bruises.
“I’m fine.” She said, ripping her hands away from him. “Go back to your girlfriend.”
Aemond cupped her face, the panic still clear in his eyes. “Alyra, what are you doing here?”
“I’m with Aegon, I lost him in the crowd.” Technically not a lie.
Aemond swore under his breath. “It’s too dangerous for you to be by yourself, what if something happened to you?” He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath. “What if I hadn’t been there to stop that man?”
Normally this concern would’ve had her stomach fluttering, but all she could feel was the alcohol turning her blood to fire. “Who knows, but why do you care? I’m not your problem.” She removed his hands from her face. “Go back to your girlfriend, Aemond.”
“Alyra, I’m not leaving you here.” He said, catching her hands and intertwining them with his own.
Tomorrow, she would blame it on the alcohol, but tonight she was hurt and angry. “You said it yourself, we’re co-workers. Not friends, not dating, not anything. Just two people that work together.”
He shook his head. “I didn’t mean to offend you, of course you’re more than a co-worker.”
She laughed bitterly. “I’m not offended, I’m hurt. I don’t like this game you’re playing, Aemond, I really don’t.”
His face was a mixture of confusion and anguish, and she longed to comfort him, but she steeled herself.
“Alyra, oh my gods, you scared the shit out of me.” Aegon wrapped his arms around her from behind, and she let him pull her backwards.
“Let’s go to that other bar.” She said, turning away from Aemond and clinging to her friend.
“Ñuha dōna, please, let me take you home, you’ve had enough.” Aemond pleaded, following behind them as Aegon expertly weaved through the crowd.
They reached the door and Aegon stepped in front of her, speaking quietly to Aemond in a language she didn’t understand.
She rarely saw Aegon angry. Bored, upset, hungover, obsessed, tired, she’d seen countless times, but angry was not an emotion he displayed often.
Aegon broke away from his brother and pulled her out of the club.

Hello, love your blog. I was wondering what are the things you would like to see in the next season(s) of HotD? Honestly, I'm not really hopeful and was quite disappointed how they handled some important characters and storylines in season 1, but I'll give a chance to season 2. If it disappoints me, well, at least I tried. The thing that worries me the most is the fact that it will only have 8 episodes because I think that could only harm the pacing. Anyway, here are some of the things I would like to see:
1. First of all, I want Alicent to stop being so apologetic and finally show some teeth. Team blank already hates her with passion and I want to see her acting for real like they were pretending she was acting in season 1. Let her be decisive, resentful of Rhaenyra, unconditionally supporting and protective of her children. I don't want to see any of "my old childhood friend" bullshit anymore. It was a good idea to start the story, but that is also something that should have been dead and buried long ago, especially after Driftmark. How could she actually approach Rhaenyra after the dinner and act all apologetic and humble again, even after that same "friend" asked for her maimed son to be "sharply questioned". No mother should get over it and I don't want to see "Rhaenyra is actually the most important to Alicent" narrative again. It would also be interesting to see the development of her relationship with Criston, not necessarily in a romantic way.
2. More Helaena screentime and her dreams/visions. I would like them to give her more importance and agency than she had in the book, especially after B&C. Explore her relationship with her family, make her an actual character, not just a "weird bug girl," "an innocent victim",...Same goes for Aemond and Aegon. I want to see Aegon as a complex character struggling with his new position, but also learning how to be more responsible and perceptive. Give me some intense scene between him and Aemond where they actually confront each other and finally express the way they see their place in the Targaryen family, how they cope(d) with their father's neglect, maybe discussion about Helaena and her abilities. I would really like to see some scenes between the green kids like the ones the Lannisters had in GoT, especially in the early seasons. This show needs something like that because it lacks depth when it comes to certain relationships. And yes, they better finally give Dreamfyre and Sunfyre the attention they deserve.
3. As for Aemond, I must say I'm not looking forward to his Harrenhal storyline, I prefer him in KL and interacting with his family. Furthermore, I'm not an Alys fan, when it comes to Aemond ships I'm more Rhaemond (will never become canon, I know) and Helaemond (might become canon, but not very likely) so I believe this Alysmond relationship will probably be something like Daemyra, deeply problematic and toxic, but quite popular among the fans. I just hope they won't make it some great love story because it won't make much sense imho. And of course, more scenes between him and Vhagar to show their bond and similarities. I'll never forgive them not including her roar when he lost an eye.
4. Give Baela and Rhaena more agency. Maybe some confrontation with their father and/or stepmother wouldn't hurt. If they really intend to depict Baela as Daemon no2 I'll probably hate her lol, but three is still hope for Rhaena. I've always imagined that she would be disgusted with B&C.
5. Include Sara Snow storyline. Regardless of what some people say, there are no romantic feelings between Jace and Baela imo and she will probably have another romantic interest, so why not give something to Jace to make his story more interesting? I don't believe in Cregan xJace and the way some TB fans defend that relationship as more acceptable and less harmful to his betrothal to Baela is ridiculous. Cheating is cheating, so why Sara isn't acceptable, but Cregan is? And anyway, that betrothal was forced upon them to cover for Rhaenyra's mistakes, so let Jace be rebellious for once, not just meek and dutiful. We've seen his darker side so they could explore that a bit more.
6. Please, don't make Nettles Daemon's daughter. Honestly, this is a tough one since their relationship was strange in the book too, but whatever they do, I hope they won't make her his daughter.
7. Don't make B&C a botched kidnapping or something. That would be too much and could actually make me stop watching
8. Show more cases of the dragons acting on their own, like Vhagar and Arax at Shipbreaker's Bay. Explore more "the idea that we control the dragons is an illusion". I want to see that on both sides, it would especially be interesting with the more experienced riders.
9. A good Rhaenyra vs Alicent confrontation scene. At least one.
10. No more Larys/Alicent scenes like the one in episode 9. Please.
Hey, thanks so much for the ask!
To be honest, you perfectly summarized everything I’d like to see in season two although my hopes are extremely low. The first season was a complete disaster with characters changing personalities every five seconds I don’t even want to know what they’ll turn season two into.
I think the only things I have to add are that I don’t want them giving all of Aegon’s storylines to Aemond. The writers have really gone out of their way to make Aegon as unlikable as possible and if it wasn’t for TGC’s efforts the character would be entirely unlikable. Aegon’s main redeeming quality in the books was his love for his family and his siblings so I’ll probably stop watching if they show him being in a brothel while blood and cheese happens, or if they’ll have Aemond executing them instead of Aegon.
Also, concerning blood and cheese, I have heard rumors/theories about how Dyana is supposedly going to be involved in it which I find absolutely atrocious. What are you trying to achieve at this point?? First you have to make him a rapist for some reason, and now you want to make his rape victim look like a terrible person by making her an accomplice to child murder.
I hate what they did to Beala in Rhaela, their inheritance was stolen and apparently they’re completely thrilled being the cupbearers of the woman their father married days after their mothers death and who is rumored to have killed their uncle. I hate how they took away all their agency and made them happy being married to Rhaenyra sons.
Most of all, I want the show to stop picking sides and nitpicking what they want to present as abuse and what they’re going to ignore (you can’t say anyone who supports Aegon is a rape apologist, while giving pedo wifekiller Daemon a free pass)
The only way to make the next season interesting is by depicting both sides as nuanced and morally Grey instead of making it into a good vs evil shit show

Let's be realistic. The only person Helaena is shipable with is Jace. If Alicent had not refused Rhaenyra's proposal, this poor girl could have been happy in her life and had a real loving family, in addition to simply a good husband.
Also, yes, I will say that besides Baela, Helaena is the only other person we can ship with Jace for me. Not this so-called Sara Snow.
I don't understand people who are offended when someone says that Sara Snow surely didn't exist. I mean, let's be real, other than Mushroom, we don't get any mention of her anywhere ! And given that the guy is known for inventing a lot of stupid things related to sex... And given that Jace's story with Sara Snow concerns so-called infidelity... Logical for us to have doubts. (Besides, it annoys me so much that Baela ended up marrying a man who cheated on her) There are only two options for me anyway. Either Sara Snow does not exist, or she exists but has not had sexual or romantic relationships with Jace at all. (Because yes, I don't believe in this so-called adventure) But in any case, it's still strange that apart from Mushroom we have no other trace of her...
Beyond that, I don't understand people who argue that Jace having an affair with Sara Snow would make him more interesting... Like, wtf ? Just say you want him to cheat on my precious Baela.
Also before the series that made the Velaryons black, I never saw so many people ship Jace with Sara Snow...
Is it a common fandom thing to always prefer a female character who has no real place in the plot and who we only hear about compared to another character who is much more active in the story ?
No because, how can anyone choose Sara Snow over Baela ?!

Targaryen Inc (6/?)
Description: Alyra is starting to get hope that maybe Aemond might return her feelings when a woman steps off the elevator asking for him.
Three weeks, three weeks until the charity ball, and Alyra was proud to say that her and Aegon’s departments had been doing an excellent job. The public was abuzz, reporters wanted press passes, and sponsors were practically begging her for tables. It was all going swimmingly, and she couldn’t be happier. Adding to her happiness was Aemond appearing in her office with a bouquet in hand.
“Are those for Helaena or your mom?” She asked, eyeing the bouquet of roses, baby’s breath and sunflowers.
He shook his head. “They’re for you. A thank you for accompanying me this past weekend, having you there made the event much more enjoyable.”
Alyra took the flowers and smiled at him. There was a card attached and she read it aloud. “To my dearest Alyra, your unending support and comforting presence never fails to give me courage, I wouldn’t have won, if it was not for you, my good luck charm. Yours truly, Aemond.”
She held the flowers to her chest. “Aemond, this is so sweet, I don’t know what to say.”
He smiled and took the fake flowers out of the vase on her desk and motioned for her to give him the bouquet. “I don’t think I would’ve gone to the event if you hadn’t been at my side, so I wanted to express my gratitude.”
She watched as he poured water into, then arranged the flowers in the vase. “Well, they’re beautiful.”
“I wished to find one that matched your own beauty, but unfortunately nature has not yet caught up to you.”
Alyra felt the heat rush to her face, and she laughed nervously. “You are such a charmer. Maybe you should join Luc in sales?”
He leaned on her desk, face inches from hers. “But then I would be farther away from my good luck charm.” His voice was low, and his eyes drifted to her lips for a split second.
She was pretty sure she was going to melt. He’d been flirting with her almost nonstop since the award dinner, and it was giving her what she feared was a false sense of hope.
His phone rang, and he straightened up, checking the number then heading back to his office.
Alyra held a hand to her heart, willing it to slow back to a normal rate as she admired the flowers.
She was typing up an invitation for a sponsor, hoping to get it finished before the office closed, when a dark haired woman stepped off the elevator. She looked around, then headed straight for Aemond’s office.
Alyra called out to her, “excuse me, ma’am, are you lost? This floor isn’t open to visitors.”
The woman stopped and turned her vivid green eyes towards Alyra. “No, I know where I’m going.”
Alyra stood and put on her “customer service smile” then stepped out of her office and in front of the woman. “I’m sorry, but I’m going to need to see some ID or for you to let me know who you have an appointment with.” While she spoke, she subtly motioned to one of the security guards.
“That won’t be necessary, he’s knows I’m here.” She said, dismissing Alyra with everything but the actual words.
This woman was starting to piss her off. She looked to be in her later forties, with long black hair, and was dressed in some goth hippie outfit. There was no way in the seven hells she had an appointment with Aemond.
“Unfortunately, you can’t go into offices without a visitor's pass or an appointment. If you’d like to wait in the lobby, Mr. Davis can escort you down there.”
“I have an appointment with Aemond Hightower, he should be expecting me.” The woman said, looking Alyra up and down before attempting to sidestep her. “Aemond didn’t inform me his assistant was so aggressive.”
Alyra blinked at the woman, biting her tongue to keep from scoffing. “Ma’am, why don’t you wait with Mr. Davis?” She nodded at Davis, who came and took the woman’s arm, guiding her back towards the elevator.
The door to Aemond’s office opened, and he stepped out, refillable water bottle in hand.
Alyra hurried up to him. “Aemond there’s a crazy lady here claiming she has an appointment with you? She has no visitor's pass, and she called me your assistant.”
Aemond cocked his head. “I don’t have an assistant?”
She rolled her eyes. Even highly intelligent men could still be dense as rocks. “That’s not the point.”
“Besides, it would be a waste of your talents to stick you in an assistant position.” He smirked, then plucked a stray leaf from the collar of her blouse. “Though I would not argue with having you so close during the workday.”
He was trying to kill her, he had to be. “Aemond, the crazy lady.” She reminded him, wanting to run and hide back in her office,
His eyes flickered to the older woman who stood by the elevator with her arms crossed. “Oh yes, Alys, we met at the award ceremony. We’re going out for dinner.”
That hurt to hear, but she shook it off, reminding herself she was still at work. She needed to be professional, but she was by his side the whole night, there was no way she wouldn’t remember that woman. “I don’t remember her.”
Aemond dropped the leaf and Alyra watched it fall to the carpet. “We met while in line at the bar, you were talking to our tablemates.”
Now she remembered, he’d gone to the bar alone, while she stayed back and listened to the woman sitting across from them talk about how she ruined her cheating ex-husband’s life.
Curse her and her inability to tear herself away from a good revenge story.
“Oh, okay. I wish she would have said that or gotten a pass from the lobby. Especially considering what happened with your grandfather.” She said pointedly.
Aemond grimaced slightly but thanked her for her concern and walked past her, a smile on his face as he approached Alys.
Alyra returned to her office, but didn’t miss the smug look Alys shot her. “Bitch.” She muttered under her breath, before deciding that now was the perfect time to check on any legal issues regarding the ball. She knocked on Jacaerys’ door, and he called for her to enter.
“Alyra, what’s up?” He looked up from his computer and sat back in his chair.
“Some hippie has a date with Aemond, and she was so rude to me about it.” She seethed, sitting down in one of his chairs with a frustrated huff.
“Was she rude, or were you just jealous?” Jacaerys asked casually, jotting something down on a legal pad.
Alyra opened her mouth, but no sound came out.
“We’re family, and Aemond is my office neighbor, you think I don’t see how many times you go into his office?”
“We’re planning a major event.”
“You wore, in your own words, ‘your hottest but still professional dress’ to the award dinner.” He deadpanned.
Sometimes she really hated how well her cousin knew her.
“It’s a good dress, I wanted to look nice.” She argued, trying to dismiss his completely correct theory.
“For Aemond.”
Alyra slumped forward and buried her face in her hands. “Fine, you win, I like Aemond, I’ve liked him since my first day. But I don’t think he feels the same way, and I’m not going to ruin a good working relationship just because I have a stupid crush on him.”
“Does it still count as a crush, if it’s been over two years?”
“I don’t know, I thought maybe we were getting somewhere, he asked me to go with him, but then he introduced me to people as his co-worker.”
Jacaerys winced in sympathy.
“Right? And then he bought me flowers, and was flirting with me, but now he’s going on a date with some rude old lady?”
“She’s elderly? You’re jealous of a grandma?” The tone in his voice suggested he was trying not to laugh, and she fixed him with a glare.
“Well, she’s in her middle to later forties, maybe? Her face doesn’t look it, but you can tell by the hands.” Alyra said, reciting what she’d learned from some late night plastic surgery show.
“Aemond’s into older women, interesting. I wonder if it has anything to do with…” He trailed off at the curious look on her face.
“Has to do with what?”
He shook his head. “I shouldn’t have said anything, it’s not my story to tell.”
“Jace, come on, you and I both hate when people say that.”
He held his hands up in surrender. “I know, I know, but seriously. He told me the story in confidence, and I won’t break his trust, not even for you.”
Alyra pouted at him. “You hate me,” she whined, trying to persuade him the way she did when they were kids.
Jacaerys rolled his eyes playfully. “Don’t puppy dog eye me, I’m not telling you.”
Alyra sighed, if he really wasn’t going to tell her then it must be something deeply personal to Aemond, and she wouldn’t push the subject. “Fine, I’ll drop it, but I’m not going back to my office until they leave.”
Jacaerys nodded. “Fine with me, I wanted to talk to you about something anyways.”

Targaryen Inc (8/?)
Description: Everyone has an eventful night, Helaena goes on a date, and Aemond's past is revealed
Trigger warning: Vague mention of Aemond being groomed when he was younger, it's really short, no details, just Aegon choking out basic plot points of what happened. Just wanted to give y'all a heads up just in case!
They ended up back at Aegon’s apartment, and Alyra laid on Aegon’s living room rug, Sunfyre immediately trotting over and licking her face.
“Begone, you giant fluffball, I’m trying to be sad.” She groaned, petting his head even as she protested his attention.
“Don’t be mean to my dog, he’s a saint.” Aegon chided, sitting on the floor next to her and scratching Sunfyre behind the ear.
“Why?” She covered her face in her hands.
“Because he’s a good boy, yes he is, yes he is.” Aegon dropped into baby talk as Sunfyre left her to jump into Aegon’s lap and nearly send him toppling over.
“Not why is your dog a saint, I already know he’s a sweet boy, but why Aemond.” She threw her hands in the air in frustration. “Why is he the way that he is?” She closed her eyes, relishing in the way the world felt like she was floating on a pool floaty.
“Aemond is weird, he’s a math nerd, who doesn’t know any songs on the radio.”
Alyra bit the inside of her cheek as tears pricked at her eyes. She would not cry, not drunk on the floor over a man who did not want her.
Aegon’s fingers gently running through her hair broke the dam, and she sat up, tears spilling from beneath her eyelids. Aegon sighed sympathetically. “Alyra…”
She opened her eyes and tried to blink away her tears. “I just don’t understand, I thought maybe he returned my feelings, but now I feel stupid.”
Aegon blew out a breath then grabbed a toy and threw it, causing Sunfyre to dash off. “So, you know how I wasn’t always a great big brother?”
Alyra wiped under her eyes and looked at him. “Yeah.”
“Well, I may have done something shitty to him when we were younger.”
She sniffled. “What do you mean?”
“When I was sixteen, I found myself falling in with a rough crowd and I gained the attention of this older woman. I knew better, but Aemond was thirteen, and—” He sighed and ran his hands down his face. “He was naïve, and he was so insecure about his eye, and she just swept him up.”
“Like took him under her wing and was a mentor or like grooming?” Alyra asked carefully, stomach churning and not just from the alcohol.
Aegon’s eyes focused on Sunfyre who was happily chewing on his toy. “I found them in bed together, I ripped him out of there, and he was fighting me, screaming that they loved each other.”
“Oh, Aegon…” Alyra breathed, putting a hand on his shoulder.
His eyes shined with tears, and she pulled him into a side hug, resting his head on her shoulder.
“I tried to tell him, but she had him so wrapped up. I called the police, and our parents got a restraining order, but Aemond would never believe us when we said she was only hurting him.” He nuzzled into her neck; his voice strained. “I don’t know if he still doesn’t understand and is chasing after that memory, or if he just has a thing for older women, but either way it’s my fault.”
Alyra swallowed hard. “It’s not your fault, it’s hers. She took advantage of him.” A terrifying thought came to her mind. “This Alys isn’t that woman, right?”
“No, no. That woman is in prison, I look her up every year to make sure she’s still there.” Aegon said, and Alyra relaxed.
“Well, okay then at least there’s that.”
Aegon sat up and wiped at his eyes. “That doesn’t explain the way he’s been acting, though.”
“What did you say to him before we left?”
“I just told him he was being stupid.” Aegon said, looking back at his dog for comfort. Sunfrye seemed to notice his gaze and trotted over, laying his body in both their laps.
Alyra stroked his fur, while Aegon whispered to him in Valyrian, the same language he used in the club.
She wasn’t going to push him, not after everything he’d done for her tonight. “Thank you.”
“Of course, what are friends for?” He said, lowering his face so her could nuzzle his nose against Sunfyre’s.
Aemond nursed his drink, half listening to what Alys was saying. He couldn’t get Alyra’s wounded expression out of his head. Her amber eyes were filled with anger and her lips were tugged down in a heartbreaking frown. The nickname he called her in his head even slipped out, as he begged her to stay, to let him see her home safely.
He trusted Aegon to an extent. But nowhere was safer for Alyra than with him. He could still feel her warmth in his arms, against his chest. Still feel the softness of her face lingering on his palms. He turned his hand and smirked at the shimmer, some of her highlight must have rubbed off on him. She always complained about her makeup but refused to buy expensive products, claiming it was “a scam to pay more money for a name.”
“Aemond?” Alys’ voice drew him out of his memories, and he looked at her.
“My apologies, what did you say?”
“I asked if you wanted to go back to my place, ever since your assistant made that scene—”
“She’s not my assistant.”
She rolled her eyes. “Ever since your co-worker made that scene, I’ve wanted to leave. She really ruined our night.”
Aemond looked down at her. She had seemed so mature and sophisticated when they first met, but now?
“You said it yourself, we’re co-workers. Not friends, not dating, not anything.”
Alyra had said those words with such anger, and he couldn’t understand why she would think that. She was Alyra, his good luck charm. She was someone he could always count on, both on and off the clock. Seeing her through her window every morning as he walked to his office made him smile, and when she wasn’t there, he was in a terrible mood.
“It’s over Aemond, you’re safe, she’s gone, it wasn’t your fault. I support your dating choices, but you can’t rewrite the past. His brother’s jaw was clenched, his violet eyes narrowed. “You know you’ve had Alyra’s heart for ages, and you keep throwing it away, so you don’t get hurt, but news flash, Aemond. It was an older woman who hurt you, not Alyra.”
Aemond bristled and went to respond, but Aegon shook his head. “I’m not watching you break my best friend’s heart any longer, so get your shit together or leave her alone.”
He watched as Alyra clung to Aegon, shoulder shaking. He’d made her cry, his sweet Alyra, was crying because of him.
“Aemond? Seriously, are you that drunk?” Alys placed a hand on his thigh, and he stood abruptly.
He threw cash down on the bar. “Here’s money for a cab, delete my number.” Then he left, ignoring her screaming at him. He pulled out his phone and blocked her number before completely wiping any trace of her from it.
Helaena wouldn’t say she chose this restaurant because it was Jacaerys’ favorite, but she definitely couldn’t deny it without lying.
She sat across from Tyrion Lannister who was very handsome, with close-cropped blond hair, brilliant blue eyes, and a winning smile, he wasn’t hard to look at. He was funny too, a friend of Aegon’s from college, he had plenty of embarrassing stories about her brother to share.
“And then Aegon jumped out of the car, ran into the dark then came back with a traffic cone in his arms. He gets back into the car; dirt is everywhere, and he just yells at us to drive.” Tyrion is animated as he tells the story, and she almost feels like she’s there in the car with them. “And that why I now have a traffic cone in my apartment.”
She giggles, and he smiles at her. “What?” She asks, suddenly feeling self-conscious.”
“You have a cute laugh; I like hearing it.”
She blushes and takes a sip of her white wine. “Thank you.”
“So Aegon told me you got a degree in psychology, what drew you to that?” He asked, looking genuinely interested in whatever her answer might be.
“Oh, well, as you know, our father died when we were younger. I wanted to explore the human mind, how it processes grief, and then as I kept learning I found more and more that interested me.”
“That’s really fascinating, and I’m sorry to hear about your father, Aegon spoke fondly of him.”
Helaena nodded and took a bite of her food to keep from answering. “Well, what about you? Why did you become an accountant?”
Tyrion gave her an embarrassed smile. “It’s a family thing, everyone works in finance. My aunt interviewed me for the job, and she was ridiculously strict. I understood, though, I didn’t want to get the job just because I was her nephew.”
They chatted on, talking about their jobs and hobbies, until someone tapped her on the shoulder.
“Helaena?” Jacaerys was standing behind her.
She turned. “Jacaerys, hi, what are you doing here?”
He motioned to where his family sat on the other side of the restaurant. “It’s Viserys’ birthday, and he loves this place.”
Rhaenyra waved at her, and Viserys ran over. “Leana!” He said, tugging on her hand. He has a little pin that said birthday boy on his dinosaur themed shirt. “It’s my birthday, I’m four now.”
She gave Tyrion an apologetic smile and leaned down. “That’s amazing, happy birthday.” She kissed his cheek, and he turned bright red, hiding behind Jacaerys’ legs.
Jacaerys picked him up and smiled down at her. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m on a date.” She turned back to Tyrion and introduced him.
“Ah, right, Alyra told me you were going out sometime this week.” His smile was strained.
“It was nice to meet you, Jaehaerys, but if you don’t mind?” Tyrion said.
“It’s Jacaerys.” She and Jacaerys said at the same time.
“Right Jacaerys, my apologies.”
Jacaerys nodded. “All good, man.”
All good? Man? Jacaerys never called anyone ‘man.’ Helaena was thoroughly confused, but also a small part of her wondered if perhaps he was jealous.
He bid them a goodbye and returned to his table.
“Sorry about that.” She turned back to Tyrion.
Tyrion shook his head. “No need, I love kids.”
“Me too.” She said, smiling softly at him.
Jacaerys sat back at his table, imagining all the ways he could kill Tyrion Lannister.
“Jace what are you ordering?” His father’s voice broke him out of his murder plans, and he gave his order to the waitress.
Viserys sat in his lap, coloring, and Jacaerys snuck another glance over to Helaena’s table. Stupid Tyrion and his stupid hair, how dare he ask Jacaerys to leave their table.
“Jace, you’re staring.” His mother said, taking a sip of her wine.
“No, I’m just making sure she’s alright.”
His mother hummed in disbelief.
“I like Helaena, she’s a nice girl.” His father commented, tucking his phone in his pocket and intertwining his hand with Rhaenyra’s.
“Very nice, and beautiful as well.” She added on.
“Better than Sarah, that’s for sure.” Lucerys snorted.
“Laena is a princess.” Viserys said, reaching for his lemonade.
Jacaerys scooted his cup closer for him. “Helaena is wonderful, but tonight is about Viserys.”
His mother raised an eyebrow but said nothing.
“Oh, looks like they’re leaving.” His father said, jerking his head towards the now standing couple.
He took a swig of his beer. “That’s their business.”
Harwin chuckled and clinked his bottle against Jacaerys’. “That’s what I said when your mother was dating Laenor, and I was lying too.”
Rhaenyra bit her lip to keep from laughing and hid her face in her husband’s shoulder.
“Gross, I don’t want to hear about that.” Joffrey groaned, burying himself in his phone to avoid his parents.
Suddenly, Helaena appeared at their table. “I just wanted to wish Viserys a happy birthday one more time and say goodbye to everyone.”
Viserys climbed out of Jacaerys’ lap and wrapped his arms around Helaena. She giggled and kissed the crown of his head. “Happy birthday Viserys.” She said goodbye to the rest of them, then left with Tyrion.
