I want to see more male villains who are a monster to his enemies, but very loving and devoted to his wife and children. This is basically how I will write Eren, he is a demon to his enemies, but is very devoted and loving to both Historia and their children. Also while Vegeta is no longer a villain, I see him have that dynamic with Bulma and their children too.

Unpopular RWBY Opinions

Some of these things are incorporated into my reimagined RWBY AU(not all of them) and my original stories

1. Arkos, BlackSun, Iceberg, and Renora should have survived and get a happy ending, I don’t give a damn about Pyrrha’s name or allusion.

2. RWBY didn’t have to be a super dark epic, it’s become pretentious. Maybe more akin to Star Wars or Justice League Unlimited

3. Adam should have just been an initial antagonist who doesn't commit super horrible things, the psycho abusive ex was melodramatic and dumb. Wether he joins the good guys or ends tragically is up to anybody.

4. Maybe we were better off without the Salem/Ozma conflict and have WTCH as individual arc villains with their own minions

5. I think Roman, Cinder, and their gang should have been just morally grey found family characters like Boba Fett, some kind of gang of thieves akin to those in Baccano or something and just help or hinder the cast like Team Rocket or something but not as silly. 

With Cinder and Roman becoming a couple and kinda like a "Gomez and Mortica" pair and Emerald and Merc hooking up, and Emerald and Neo would be like their daughters and Merc the son-in-law. I might recycle that idea for one of my original stories thats inspired by Skullgirls and Baccano who's protagonist sis something of an Anti-Cinder and an Anti-Torchwick with a ragtag gang fighting against a corrupt government run by a demonic-powered mafia.

6. Maybe RWBY could have been more like a Dragonball/Fairy Tail universe instead in terms of tone and narrative structure, and that wouldn’t have been a bad thing.

7. At the very least, Ozma and Salem could have been an explanation of the origin of the world and just something that would be rediscovered overtime and Ozpin and his circle are some keepers of ancient myth or something. Like The Jedi Order or The Time Lords or something idk.

8. Kinda feel Oscar wasn’t necessary, as much as I like him

Maybe the corrupt SDC and Bad Dad Jacques was also needless, maybe just one of the few good underdog companies in Atlas and Jack being initially a bit too hard on Weiss due to upholding the family’s honor and chivalry but means well and initial harsh nature involving his wife, a scientist who worked with Dr.Watts and Dr. Poldenia, being murdered at the hands of an anti-Faunus milita group and Watts having some role in it. Mostly because I'm just exhausted of the "Bad Dad" trope

10. Have Watts have a megacorporation and be the corrupt company in Atlas instead who’s responsible for their tech and uses unethical Faunus labor in his factories(even though in secret Watts just hates everybody) instead and have a bitter rivalry with Jacques and The SDC, especially due to Jack and Arthur’s personal history regarding Mrs.Schnee.

11. Hazel should have just been a Meta-Knight like character, a good guy but on nobody’s side with a grudge against Ozpin for understandable reasons, he has bear claw-like gauntlet weapons, and becomes a rival to Yang seeing his sister in her and is the “Papa Bear” to her “Goldilocks”

12. Bumbleby is a bad ship and it’s fandom are filled with bitter shrews who use it as representation despite how toxic it is.

13. Disagreeing with Monty’s vision isn’t inherently malicious.

14. I agree with @sytokun making Blake basically a Princess and have loving parents who are also influential was also dumb. Make her an Orphan with the WF/Team RWBY her found family instead. Or I would at least give her a “dead dad” with her Mom living in Menagerie but not as a “Chieftess” aka a QUEEN. They called themselves Cheiftan and Chieftess because it sounded cute.

Interesting thing about the Yamcha's death pose meme from someone that's watched the full Dragon Ball series, there's actually several things about it are lost in the pop culture versions:

For one its actually a very serious and tragic scene, with Yamcha's friends breaking down as they watch him die after he's killed by one of the enemy soldiers doing a suicide attack.

Yamcha actually acts very heroic there as Krillin (main character) was going to fight the enemy forces, but Yamcha noted that the Dragonballs can only revive someone once and Krillin already died once, so it'd be safer if he went ahead first. (The only reason why this plan didn't work is the Dragon Balls were lost).

The mook that killed him, the Saibaman/Cultivar was actually really strong, like it was as strong as the villain Goku had just sacrificed himself to beat Raditz. Powerscaling is wack, yo!

Yamcha more or less wins the battle against the Saibaman & its only when it manages to get up one last time & self destruct Yamcha without warning that he dies. Do note, this would've killed any other character there outside of Piccolo and the self destruct ability was something everyone was unaware of!

If anything its impressive, Yamcha's corpse was not only in one piece, but unblemished, even his hair was still neat. The Saibaman was gibbed by the explosion.

But basically nuance can be lost in pop culture/memes. That reminds me, I think Yamcha gets a villain ship in Super Dragon Ball Heroes.

v. true. nuance is often lost for the meme, and often the context is entirely removed it’s fascinating to see what sticks and what doesn’t. i’m curious to know what villain ship yamcha gets! i’ve heard of frieza/yamcha, but idk if that was meant as pure crackiness tho.

i’ve watched dragon ball up to gt! i’m very charmed by its nonsense! haven’t seen kai, super or any additional shows, tho! but ty for the extra details on the events surrounding yamcha’s death. tbh i’ve always liked yamcha for deciding he’s reached his limit and becoming a baseball player instead, and is still part of the z warriors family. (it is insane that the saibaman were as powerful as raditz, but then again… this is dbz we’re talking about!) but you’re right, it was genuinely sad to watch, even knowing that he can return to life later on.

still… dragon ball’s true villain/hero ship… krillin/18!!! so cute and chaotic during the cell arc! they really did make me laugh from start to finish. i can’t really call the androids anti-villains for most of that saga, but they were a fun spinning wrench that remained unpredictable til the end.

Dashboard osmosis: Dragonball

Might be cheating a bit because I've had a lot more osmosis here than just my dashboard but, off the top of my head with no research: Cartoon knock-off/do-over/riff on Journey to the West becomes The Definitive Superpowered Fight Manga/Anime of at least one generation, and in the process becomes entirely about an endless escalating procession of as-over-the-top-as-the-medium-allows-for battles with alien goobers that our protagonists must defeat by attaining varying degrees of Godhood.

A lot of said alien goober villains transition into dorky uncle anti-heroes regardless of how many genocides they've participated in, and they are everyone's favorite characters so nobody really minds this. Every major battle is viewed as The Point It Stopped Being Good by one corner of the fandom, but most corners will give every new installments a shot anyway because this thing is gonna be around forever. Goku is dumb and nice and he can beat up everybody, Vegeta is varying degrees of asshole and was the sensational character find of his time, the sidekicks are all generally losers except the girls but they occasionally get good bits, but nobody really matters in recent years except the Saiyans. Every character has at least a handful of variants. Most if not all Japanese media of the past decades has had to reckon with it or ripped it off in some form.

Popular on Latin America to the point of being an institution (religious, economic, social, you name it), a lot of people I know are super into it, and the studio I graduated as a voice actor in was run by Goku's voice actor and his brothers (the same guy also voices Spongebob). I never watched the show, but I did watch Super Mario Bros Z a lot as a kid and those fight scenes imprinted on me big time.

As much as I have issues with "sequel series" in recent years. One of the redeeming qualities about Dragonball Super is that they do right by Vegeta's arc. Again he never became a hero until the end of Z (he was more a pain in the ass), & while he still maintains his anti-social attitude towards some of the main cast He has actually made the effort to be a Better Husband & Dad to Bulma & Trunks (& later Bula) even degrading himself to goofy antics to keep them safe. He's even form some kind of mentorship to the Universe 6 Saiyan: Cabba.

good deal. Dragonball is a lot of fun, but as far as discerning the overarching plot, I find it kind of impenetrable. I'd catch an episode on the Cartoon Network where some dudes are fighting and yelling; and then catch another episode like a week later and the exact same fight was still happening!

If I recall correctly, Piccolo may have started off as something of a villain too. But I imagine most everyone thinks of Piccolo as a good guy first and foremost.

The Evil Will by Cliffather Via Flickr: As I noted before, Evil future Wilma Sue (Story 3 of my aspiring comic) will come to Story 1 (of my aspiring comic) to create the Anti-Sue. The Anti-Sue (Yes, my parody of the Anti-Monitor ) then creates clones of Evil Will, High School William X 2(story 1) and (story 1) High school Victor[at his "Power" level stage of story 3]. This clone of William K. at William's future "Battle" level (story 3).

Evil Will is actually inspired by He-man's faker character. Though she had the power to create the clones, Evil/Anti/Annie - Sue didn't want to have complete "mind" control over them. Each clone has some of their Original's source memories and the clones can only use the powers they are aware of or the original source shows them more of their powers(Ex. Dragonball Super: "Goku Black" - this example is what I WAS THINKING when I created these characters back in the '90s).

Unpopular opinion, I really hate The pilaf gang being kids and what they’re doing to Mai’s character.

I kinda don’t wanna see them as anything more then joke villains that never win.

Idk, I feel like they’re are already a lot of naggy females in the series that Mai ( original the stoic coward) being naggy doesn’t feel right.

And the entire romance between her and Trunks is just gross in my opinion, mai is shown to still remember things from Og dragon ball and the fact that she’s mentally older than Bulma, his mom makes it more yucky.

Also this one is just a me thing and not something I’m really not as upset about, I miss when Mai and Shu had this goofy friendship, like they were both scared of pilaf, so they just talked to each other a lot so naturally.

Look at them joking together about how they wish pilaf would treat them better, like that’s some FRIENDSHIP

trunks as a whole, both future and present would've just been better left single (because not every character needs a romantic relationship) but if they wanted to give him a fem love interest they could've EASILY created a new character for him-like come on there's no excuse since super introduced a bunch of new chars- and make her into a interesting character while simultaneously building up a relationship with trunks (imagine him being paired with a saiyan woman that woulda been lit) but given this series track record with female characters and romantic relationships that would've been too much to ask

instead they decided to bring back an irrelevant decades old character, age her down and completely warp and change her character all for the sake of forcing her into that shitty ass, poorly written cringe romance... like on the list of reasons why i dislike super, that is one of the main ones

I really want to like Vegeta again but I’m not the biggest fan of some of his material in Super and especially not the Super Manga (where it feels like Toyotaro is propping him up and making him extremely OOC in the process- while screwing over other characters like Goku- who also feels extremely OOC)

Saiyan-Freeza arcs is probably my favourite Vegeta. I also like his Boo arc material.
